Room was clean and ac worked great. Lobby was hot seemed to have AC issue there only but staff handled it well. Breakfast was ok. They comped service fee due to computer issues so overall would stay again.

I made reservations back in January 2026. The pictures, room, and balcony view was not that we requested / shown. Will not request thru Expedia again. I told the front desk about our blocked gulf view and she acted like old well. Our vacation stay was a very let down.

Clean and great location across the beach. Felt safe enough for our stay.

The staff were all great. Front desk, housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance - all were exceptional. The other residents were also perfect. Mainly families with kids. Kids will be kids, they run and play and laugh. They swam in the pool and generally had a good time and when it was time to be quiet and sleep then that's what they did. There were no drunken teenagers and young adults getting into fights and loud arguments at all hours. There were no cranky old people constantly complaining about literally everything. Just parents and mature adults with their children who were all well behaved and respectful. This is a key point, the behavior of the guests themselves. The breakfast was excellent, the room sparkled it was so clean. There was plenty of parking. It is a clean and well kept building and site. The staff are friendly yet professional and competent. It was an all around good experience. Thank you. The weather. It rained ... and I mean RAINED! Not always, but often. No surprises there though, in fact I expected it. Ah well ...

However, if you have kids and a wagon loaded with beach stuff, it’s not an easy task getting it down the stairs..there is no ramp…hotel is clean overall, staff was super friendly and accommodating! The room is very clean. Lots of breakfast items to choose from!

Breakfast was good, my kids loved it. We came back to a clean room when we left for my daughter’s second day of soccer games at the beach. We enjoyed our stay as a family with young children.

For a quiet room with excellent darkening of the window, this was perfect for us. We enjoyed the balcony facing the ocean. They use a darken screen instead of drapes, and it made the window completely void of light which we really like. Breakfast was extensive and great staff.

Although a little older building there was convenient parking in rear of building. The room and bathroom was comfortable and clean. Our room had a small balcony you could sit on, and the hotel sits across the street from the beach so it made a nice view. The breakfast was good. Stayed two nights and used the laundry room while there which was nice and affordable. An adequate outdoor pool. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. For location a good value.

The room smelled really bad , we couldn’t sleep well all night. And room was not quite at all even though we requested way ahead of our check in. The wifi was not working and reception person failed to tell us. Posting it on walls doesn’t help us feel we are being treated. Staff were helpful but the place is not well maintained.

Reserved and paid for a room. When I showed up to check in I was told no room was available.

I have never been to a more disgusting hotel in all of my travels. From the moment you walk in all you smell is mold. The entire downstairs, the hallways and the rooms all smelled like mold. Not a little hint here or there, a massive smell. The room not only smelled of mold, it was so humid the pillows were damp. There are bugs, and huge gaps under the door so really no way for them not to travel room to room. Within 30 minutes of being there I booked a different hotel for the remainder of my 4 day stay in Galveston. It was so gross, my husband and I slept fully clothed on top of the blankets. Had we not arrived at 11pm we wouldnt have stayed the one night.

Amazing kind & extraordinary complimentary breakfast!!!

The staff was very friendly. This hotel worked for the night before our cruise. There were groups of cheerleaders staying there for a competition. They screamed, ran the halls, and talked right outside of our door well into the middle of the night. They were back it at the next morning. If we had been staying for more than one night, I would have moved hotels.

We utilized the hotel as an overnighter before a cruise. It was more than adequate. However, their internet had been knocked out by a violent thunderstorm, so some of their amenities were not available. The staff more than made up for that.

The hospitality of the front desk clerk was outstanding! I believe his name was Robert. I could be wrong, but he was very friendly, making a 6 hour trip well worth it. 10/10 will come back just to see his bright wonderful personality. He is definitely a value to the company! My room was clean, the only thing I could notice that needed some work, 1) the elevators sound very sketchy, we stayed on the 4th floor and once coming to a stop, the whole elevator would shutter, causing a loud disturbing noise. 2) some of the light switches were difficult to find. Other than that I would come back.

We had great breakfast daily the only thing we didn't like was when we were eating at around 0730, two of staff are sweeping the floor and cleaning in the area we are seated for sure dust are flying in the air and going to our food.

We had a great stay. We celebrated our 4 year anniversary at this hotel. We showed up to a room that was decorated with lights and rose petals. They had towels in the shape of swans on the bed. It was very romantic! The view from our room was so pretty! Robert works the front desk! He is fantastic! Robert is very helpful and knowledgeable! He has the best customer service!!! We really enjoyed the pool area which also includes a hot tub. This is such a laid back calming atmosphere. Breakfast was wonderful! The staff keeps everything well stocked during breakfast hours. We will definitely go back!

Clean room, towels by the pool that also has 2 hot tubs! Walk to the cross walk to get to the beach is about 5 mins which is worth it since it’s safer than just crossing the road. The area of the beach it’s around is more quiet and less busy so it was perfect for us. Kroger and Walmart down the street also restaurants in walking distance. Amazing staff very friendly and the breakfast crew was amazing! I loved this hotel

Comfortable bed, the floor needed mopping though, bit of mildew smell throughout property and extreme in the elevator bank in the parking area. If you are allergic to mold this isn’t the place but otherwise nice room, breakfast, and location was great.

Robert the host was simply the best. He was so helpful and hands on.

Deadbolt on door was impossible to lock due to wrong striker plate being installed. Security latch mounted to door frame was loose and flexing so that it would not be secure. Ceramic tile in entry and bath was broken in several places with grout missing and edges chipped in numerous places. Room had a moldy musty smell and before checkout noticed mold on wall paper border above bed. Have pics to document.

I had a partial view of the beach and gulf. The room was nice. I liked the that the soaps and creams were large pump bottles.

The building is old and hasn’t been renovated in a long time.

Had to go to the front desk many times for clean towels. The Covid pandemic is over, the hotel industry needs to get back to work providing the standard services expected by their guests. Aside fron the parking area lighting not working, one of the two elevators was very shaky for a couple of seconds when stopping, scaring the heck out of many of the guests. The lighting and elevator have been in this condition for several months. We will not stay here again !

Room 226 needs to have the AC unit checked out as it produces a loud vibrating noise when the compressor turns on. Difficult to sleep. Carpet needs to be shampooed as the room smells like spilt beer when you enter the room. Needs a nightlight in the bathroom. Bathroom exhaust fan did not work making excessive condensation in the bathroom after showering. Our room door key stopped working on 2nd day. Had to go get it reprogramed at the front desk.

The balcony had a straight short to the beautiful uncrowded beach.

The carpets in the room definitely need a deep cleaning. In the morning the cleaners need to be more considerate of people sleeping. They kept talking for like an hour in the hallway about what they were going to be eating for lunch break. I told one of the receptionist and she said that it wasn’t cleaners but they didn’t know I had a family member staying in the same floor and they also told me they heard cleaners all morning talking and they definitely sounded like housekeepers. I won’t be staying here again.

No towels in the room when we got there and no one to bring us any, had to go get our own. Floors were warped, felt like we were going to fall thru the floor. Tub didn’t drain, standing wayer after just a couple of minutes. Floors were also filthy.

The room smelled like mildew. The toilet was constantly running water. One of the lights in the room wouldn't turn off. Im pretty sure therewere blood stains on the floor. The only plus side was the front desk guy was really nice.

Positive: You could walk across the street to go to the beach. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. Negative: The whole place needed more upkeep. Our tub had several chips in the porcelain. There was a cup on our balcony with liquid in it and several cigarette butts.

On July 31st through August 3rd my family and I went to visit Galveston like we do every year. We’ve stayed at holiday inn hotels in the past and have never had any issues. During our stay I kept noticing random bites in my body. I thought maybe mosquitos at first glance but the bites got bigger and had several patterns. On the day I was getting ready to check out I noticed a bed bug on my pillow! I called front desk and informed them about this and they send a maintenance worker to confirm this. As I spoke to the front desk receptionist and after she discussed with management I was promised a full refund for my stay and the because of this issue. I spoke with customer service and till this day have not heard back since. It feels like they just brushed this off like it was no big deal and here I was with several bites on my body for weeks! Shame on holiday inn for not responding and I hope that this does not happen to anyone else. I’m sure that if this happened to themselves or their loved ones while trying to vacation it will ruin their trip like it did mine! Here are pictures of that day.

The property is clean, spacious, and staff is welcoming. The only complaint I have is the shower lacked decent water pressure and you had to flush the toilet several times for it to work properly.

Robert at the front desk was amazing. We asked if it’d be too much trouble to check out a little late, and had no problem in us doing so. It was an amazing experience and he helped make it even better. My girlfriend has never seen the beach before, and wow, this was a great view and a great beach. Thank you!!

The cleaning staff was all Hispanic and we asked them to clean room 3 times as we were walking out the room, no one spoke English. The morning breakfast was very good, plenty of choices !!

The hot tubs are actually hot and they have two at this property. Plus what I really liked that at night they had blue LED lights showing out the hotel so you could easily spot it in the lineup of buildings. Easy to find day or night. Hotel color on outside is blue and white.

But it has large rooms, comfortable beds, big bathrooms, a partial view of the gulf, and a very generous breakfast buffet all for $86 a night. If you can live with the smell, it is a good deal.

Stayed one night and was able to check in an hour before 4pm. Staff at the front desk were very nice. Great access to the beach, cross the street, down the stairs and you are there! Free breakfast was a great plus as well. Comfy beds and nice room.

The construction crew use the handicap parking without any handicap plate/placard !!!

Coffee was ready at 6am, the room was clean, and the restroom in the lobby was clean. The front desk was helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place.

First off, Robert at the front desk is awesome! From the second I walked in, he greeted me with excitement and was consistent with it until I checked out. The room was clean, it had a nice view of the beach. When we pulled out the sofa bed, we did see a dead roach. The water pressure in the shower could definitely be better & the wifi was soooo slow. Other than that, it was great & we would stay here again in the future.

The desk staff was helpful however the cleaning staff was not. None of them spoke English so when asked for towels and soap they had no clue what we were saying so getting restocked never happened.

Nice location.

My room was under a renovation project above me. I heard the banging hammering and dropping a packages during the day. I was eventually moved to another room. Secondly, the elevators were frighten. They would Trimble when they reach the floor that I was on that does not make you feel Safe.

This was an amazing trip. This day was awesome. The staff wonderful front desk clerks are awesome. All of them was nice breakfast. Good enjoyed it very very clean room. I love this hotel the best one by far and trust me. I read reviews so please believe me when I tell you this hotel here is the best clean, clean, clean, clean clean. I can’t stop stressing it And this is my first review that I have ever left for a hotel.

Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Good place to stay if you’re heading out on a cruise.

Great staying with Holiday Inn. The staff was friendly and accommodating. My room was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. The hotel did have a moldy odor which was very noticeable in the elevators. Breakfast provided daily.

Everyone was nice, rooms were clean.The area was loud at night. The hotel is a nice place to stay.

Beach is across the street with a very easy walk

This hotel is directly across the street from the beach, offering a perfect location with easy access to all the fun activities available at the beach.

The rooms were not very clean, the bath tub had a big glob of caulk on it. The first night we got there the TV didn’t work. The whole hotel smelt muskie. Floors in lobby were filthy. Had to ask to have room cleaned, as much as you have to pay we should not have to ask to have room cleaned. Will not stay here again

Awesome place to stay at. Staff was great (Robert) was awesome. Breakfast was so good I loved this place.

First thing we saw when we were going for parking was a sign”park at your own risk. Hotel not responsible” the place already looked unsafe and then that signed made it all worse. Then the smell at the elevator horrible . It smelled like cheap old hotel. The room felt dirty the sheets the whole experience was not good.

Beds were advertised as queens but they were doubles and they were really bouncy so anytime the other person moved you woke up. Worn, heavily used pillows. The building itself was falling apart and they have clearly put no real effort in upkeep. The tiles in our bathroom were cracked and coming up from the floor. Desk chair was broken and you couldn’t sit upright in it, balcony door was warped and didn’t seal. We thought it was going to be the Holiday Inn at the Pier - which is really nice - but it was more like an old Quality Inn. Real bad shape.

So my experience with this hotel was ok the staff was 100% excellent very kind and friendly no issues at all with that but with the hotel I found it to be old and not so great with appearance, kinda smelled like mold in the building and the walls kinda scared me, I don’t know if it’s because we were near the beach but it made me fell uncomfortable since I have visual sensory issues. Overall I give it 5/10 score.

Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. I enjoyed the complementary breakfast because the lady who served it was always welcoming. I spent several days here and this Holiday inn will be part of the nice memories of Galveston, TX.

Only issue was the mold above the door to outside was bad.. smelled musty. I did not asked to be moved because we were so tired & it was late. I did go get bleach wipes & cleaned it myself. that helped

The staff was amazing. Robert was very Friendly and helpful as was the lady that was there when we checked out. I don't know her name but I think she had glasses and a nose piercing. Breakfast had alot of options. The room was clean, beds were comfortable. Even the sofa bed was comfortable. The pool was nice and the outdoor shower was very convenient when we came back from the beach which is right across the street.

Room was falling apart. Floors very dirty. Breakfast not good. Staff was kind.

There was an issue in the bathroom with a broken soap bottle an i had mentioned it and they sent someone right up to fix it.

This was an AWESOME family trip!!! We will be back again.

I travel for a living and I've never had a bad experience at Holiday Inn Express. Until now. From the beginning, the elevator felt like it was going to go kaput. Rooms were plain gross & outdated and smelled like mold. Walls needed paint, windows were disgusting. Flying bugs all over bathroom. Shower was cold, felt spongy under my feet. Breakfast was meh. All in all a pretty lousy experience. I wish I paid for insurance, would have canceled and gone else where. Do yourself a favor, stay ANYWHERE else.
