Going up three flights of stairs without an elevator with cruise luggage was not fun!
- 3/5
Sheets were dirty.
- 4/5
Though the furnishings throughout the property were very dated, the room we had was very clean! The location is perfect! We used the free ferry service from Bolivar to Galveston. This hotel is right out the gates from the ferry, making it so convenient! We were able to bypass Houston completely by using the ferry.

Staff was courteous
- 2/5
Se pagó mucho para lo que realmente es. Necesita renovación y actualización urgente
- 4/5
Older motel, somewhat refurbished. Walkways & rails on second floor area are in bad shape.
- 4/5
Front desk clerk was very nice. The room was clean and served its purpose. Our stay was a last minute decision to go to the beach and then decided we wanted to stay the night.
- 4/5
Room was great could tell it was updated. Outside can use some updates, overall staff was friendly and helpful, close to cruise lines. Would stay again
- 2/5
Property has no elevator. King bedrooms are only on the third floor. Very minimal breakfast options. Had a dead roach on the bathroom floor and another dead bug in the bed. Shower quality was poor.
- 3/5
Bed was extremely hard and pillow were flat. Had a hard time going to sleep. Staff was extremely nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Air was good.
- 5/5
The bed was super comfortable

This is our 4th time staying here and we will be back again. Good stay for cruisers. Clean pool, clean rooms. Good price!
- 5/5
Clean room, cool ac!
- 3/5
Good for the price. Building and interior a bit worn. Breakfast and dining area are nice and we really like that they allow cruise parking. Stayed here more than 20 times and will probably stay here again.
- 4/5
I have stayed here each time I go out of Galveston, The hotel is one of my favorite. Thanks to all
- 3/5
Hotel is old and smells bad. The air conditioner doesn't get very cold even on the lowest setting. No elevator all rooms on 2nd or 3rd floor. Breakfast is frozen waffles and cereal.
- 3/5
Very poor condition. Holes in the walls, scratched up doors, door facings and walls, torn shades and bugs on the ceiling.
- 4/5
all we need
- 3/5
We’ve stayed at this property many times for many years when we cruise. This is the first time we were overcharged almost $20 per night. We usually only stay one night but this time we decided to come early to see more of Galveston. Very disappointed in being charged more fees. When I questioned at registration, I was told Expedia didn’t charge the right amount in taxes. I called Expedia, they couldn’t reach the property by phone, never called me back. I, also, asked for the Inn’s owner to call me back, but didn’t. I have future reservations already booked at this property but will start looking to book at other properties.
- 5/5
Breakfast was continental. Pool was clean. GREAT! I can let my car parked during the 7 days of my cruise and not extra charge if I booked one night before my trip. If you need a ride to thr port is $12.50 one way per person. Ir you can walk with no luggage 20 minutes to port 10 Galveston Texas
- 5/5
Love the place.
- 5/5
We always stay that the Spanish Inn while in Galveston. Every thing about it including its uniqueness we love and adore!
- 1/5
Everything
- 4/5
Property is older but this is where we stay for the one night before a cruise. We are here to sleep. Beds and rooms are clean. Bathrooms are clean. We can park our car here for our cruise without worry or high costs.
- 3/5
There’s no elevator to take your suitcase up to your room so you have to bump your suitcase up the steps Nothing is within walking distance here to go get something to eat or do anything. The staff has been awesome very helpful. The property itself definitely needs some upkeep..
- 5/5
This is our second time staying here and will be back again. Very convient for cruising out of Galveston. Clean and friendly service.
- 1/5
I will not stay here again. It’s old and out of date which I was okay with. But there were lots of insects in our room so we requested to be moved. Our second room had a full toilet that didn’t flush! When we asked for another new room we were told “i don’t know if we can. you’ll probably find something you don’t like with that one too”
- 5/5
Nice staff, great location
- 2/5
In need of a good cleaning, paint job, and repairs. Mini blinds broken, shower fixtures hanging on barely to shower wall.
- 4/5
Its a great place to stay & park for the cruises
- 4/5
Convenient parking for cruise. Friendly staff.
- 4/5
The hotel itself needs some TLC. The room was very clean but outdated. We were only there for 1 night as we were sailing out on a cruise the next day. Do it was ok for 1 night
- 1/5
Poor property bad inconvenience
- 2/5
This place has been ravaged by hurricanes in the past, so the smell of mold and musk has taken over, to the point that you can't breathe. The owners really need to address this issue. The owners and their help are really nice people and do their best to help if needed. If you can tolerate all of the issues with this place, it is a good place to stay for cruise access. Parking is free and there is a shuttle service available to and from your cruise, which works out great. Remember that you are only spending the night and your free parking is up to eight days.
- 4/5
It was a lot nicer than last year, we enjoyed our stay. They also let us park our vehicle there while we were on the cruise, which I appreciate.
- 1/5
The property was run down, mold on the ceiling and the walls. Unsafe railing on the second floor needs major renovations a lot of rotten wood unpainted areas
- 2/5
The staff were very friendly, and it felt like a safe area. The pool was very clean as well. As for the room, it was not what I expected. I saw a previous review about roaches and unfortunately, it’s true. You are given a WiFi password however the internet does not work in your room. Most people probably stay here because it is very close to the cruise terminal if that’s what your looking for.
- 3/5
It is an ok hotel. We stay for the free cruise parking
- 5/5
Nice place.
- 5/5
It is dated, but the room is clean and the front desk staff was very friendly
- 4/5
Reasonable price, continental breakfast,

The rooms smell really bad. Do not stay at this location.
- 5/5
Very clean. Very nice and accommodating
- 5/5
Close to Royal Caribbean cruise terminal
- 1/5
Will never stay here again.
- 3/5
My mom & I stayed here one night before our cruise. It isn’t a terrible hotel, definitely outdated & could use some renovating. We didn’t experience a problem while stating. The breakfast included little boxes of cereal & pre packaged danishes. We decided to stay here because it was cheaper than other hotels, but I’d say for the price we paid…The hotel overall isn’t worth the price!
- 1/5
The first room i was given had one dead and one very alive cockroach inhabiting it. The smell of the room was musty, old, mildewy. I've stayed here for the free cruise parking twice but just cant stomach it afyer the most recent stay.
- 5/5
This was a great place to stay before our cruise. Our room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. We did not hear the ferry at all. The wonderful gentleman at the front desk was so kind and helpful. It was a bonus that we were able to leave our car here while we were on our cruise. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Galveston.
- 3/5
All the employees were very nice. This property is run down and needs a lot of repair. They do have covered parking for free that’s a plus. I wish I would have paid a bit more to be closer to the Seawall, instead, we paid a lot for Uber rides.
- 2/5
Computer was down. Street noisy.
- 5/5
I stay here every time I go on a cruise because they have free cruise parking… The hotel is a bit older and the rooms reflect its age, but they’re fairly clean and very comfortable! We’ll definitely stay here again soon!
- 5/5
This is a very old property and all rooms are on 2nd or 3rd floor with no elevate. Not handicapped accessible.
- 1/5
Very run down. Room smelled moldy. Would not let anyone in lobby until 8am hoping for a cup of coffee as our room coffee pot leaked everywhere.
- 2/5
Old building that should be totality rebuilt to accommodate the present lodging amenities of the 20th century being located at the entrance & exit point of the Galveston ferry depot. The lodging rates not don’t measure up to the accommodations or amenities of present day times.
- 3/5
Staff was nice
- 5/5
A bit older property, but a reasonable value for money. The customer service team were really friendly and helpful. Overall not a bad stay for a quick overnight before our cruise.
- 2/5
Too many srairs. No elevators. Coffee not ready till 8am.
- 5/5
Clean remodeled room with tile flooring, with microwave and fridge. I did not see an iron or ironing board, but that was ok for one night. Great deal for lodging and parking while cruising for 9 days. If you are looking for a budget-friendly place, this is it. They offer transportation arrangement with a third party to the port, you sign in upon check in, and they will pick you up and take you to your cruise very affordable.
- 2/5
Stay was ok but when I got back from my cruise I had charges from hotel on my card for damages to a curtain that was damaged already from my previous stay in December. The rooms need updated water pressure and hot water needs repairs as well as new curtains and shades hung especially if they gonna try to charge for something that’s already trashy and old
- 3/5
Ok.
- 1/5
The place was mold central. There was black mold ieverywhere in the shower,.even on walls . Microwave was rusty, and place needed new paint.
- 4/5
Was able to leave car there while on cruise they also have shuttle service . Close to besch and ferry
- 5/5
Good stay for last minute.
- 5/5
We stayed for one night and we were able to rest so comfortably 😊 Mattrese was very comfy.
- 4/5
Stayed at this hotel for about 6 or 7 years when going on cruises and able to park on the property for the week safe and secure. Older refreshed place
- 3/5
Older hotel with no amenities around the hotel. Breaky was good. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Stayed overnight for our cruise. Nothing super fancy, but clean and safe. Parking was a great deal and called for an uber super easy for $15! Will definitely stay here again before our next cruise.
- 5/5
Fine
- 4/5
It was good, friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed. Only room issue was tv remote control was not compatible with tv set, had to control manually. Things that could improve; continental breakfast should begin sooner than 8am.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly, helpful staff. Good value
- 2/5
There was absolutely no water in shower it was a Trinkle coming out of the shower head.
- 5/5
The place is great and Vicky does a wonderful job at the front desk. We love her and the place.
- 2/5
This property definitely needs work.
- 5/5
weeknight so was quiet despite holiday season
- 3/5
The price was reasonable but it is starting to show its age. Our door didn’t lock and the room has had some water damage in to past. We stayed there for the closeness to the port for our cruise.
- 5/5
Wonderful place and friendly staff
- 3/5
Good for what it is. Inexpensive night before boarding the cruise ship. Left vehicle at hotel , a good value. Took shuttle to cruise ship . No problems with pickup on returns.
- 4/5
Beds are comfortable, pool was crystal clear
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 3/5
Front office lady was very nice. Check in was smooth..reasonably priced Rooms were clean. We slept on the 3rd floor. The building itself was noisy - fans, wind blowing and rattling things. Definitely not anyones fault, just an old building. We had an even numbered room and that side of the building was very bright . We didnt have the best night sleep . but on a lower floor on the other side of the building. We will stay again
- 2/5
no phone in the room. A man tried to get in our room twice. The smoke alarm was beeping every minute. It felt unsafe. We could not call the office. no phone in the room.
- 1/5
Black mold on the lamps, bed skirts and furniture. Smells like mold. Found a big bed bug in our luggage when unpacking once onboard the cruise ship which caused embarrassment and disgust. I have pictures to prove it. This was our wedding cruise and it absolutely ruined the most of it! Do not stay here! Also, the shuttle service vehicles are about to break down so just don't.
- 5/5
Was a great place to stay. Friendly staff
- 3/5
Picked this place because of the free cruise parking. The beds were comfortable and the room was fairly clean except for the floors. It is very run down. Rusty. You could only shower as the bathtub had no way to plug the drain and no spout to fill the tub. Only a shower head and it ran out so slowly that the tub would not fill before the water cooled off. The breakfast would not pass a health code visit I don't think. Milk and juice pour out of a gallon jug and bread is by the loaf so everyone just puts their hands in the same package.
- 4/5
Other than the fact that there is no elevator and the rooms start on the second floor, hotel is great. Nothing fancy and a little old but GREAT customer service and EXCELLENT beds- very comfortable and quiet.
- 4/5
Great hvac. Looked new,bed was comfortable. The cleanliness was great BUT,,, maintenance needs dire help!. Bath tub was missing stopper mechanism, ceilings was painted very thin, could still see black mould along crown trim that was not painted over. The pool/walkway area was not osha/code grade.. railes wete rusted through and had black tape over it to hide damage, rails are s
- 5/5
The stay was great. The front desk clerk was very friendly, helpful and customer oriented. This place is great if your scheduled a. Raise, they offer vehicle parking and shuttle service for an additional cost. I recommed.
- 4/5
Parking for free while on a cruise and shuttle service to and from the port.
- 5/5
We stay at this motel every time we leave out for a cruise. The main reason is because the parking is free for up to a week while on the cruise and they have shuttle service which is only $10 per person each way to and then from the cruise terminal. The breakfast isn’t the best but who cares when we can eat as soon as we get on the cruise ship.
- 3/5
Nice place but in the middle of nowhere. Staff were friendly. I was going for a cruise and they had a shuttle service. I think next time I will stay on mainland.
- 2/5
This property is right next to the wait lanes for a 24 hour ferry, so if your room faces the road you potentially have to listen to loud vehicles all night, Also, the rooms are old and musty. There are far better options around Galveston.
- 4/5
Old but adequate. Could definitely use an update.
- 4/5
It was convenient and inexpensive. The room was clean and had everything you needed. Breakfast well lets just say you better pack something not much to choose from. It was nice to be able to leave your vehicle while on a cruise.
- 3/5
Roof damage from months ago not repaired. Blue tarp material blown all over, even down the road two blocks away. Chairs in dining area in horrible condition. We’ve stayed here close to 20 times but we’ll be staying elsewhere from now on.
- 4/5
Staff were wonderful very helpful. Property needs updating stairwells dirty
- 3/5
No elevators to second and third story rooms!
- 4/5
Older property that needs maintenance on the exterior rooms, however the interior rooms are clean and well furnished.
- 5/5
We had a lovely stay.
- 5/5
place a little outdated, but good price
- 2/5
Thankfully we were only staying 1 night prior to our cruise, room was vemusty and smelly , no lift not ideal with suitcases ,gentleman on front desk was very polite . Shuttle service was good
- 4/5
.
- 3/5
The only reason the rating was not lower is because of the 20.00 (rt) shuttle service Veronica provides to the cruise port and the front desk clerk Todd. This place needs some love! The owner should be ashamed for the poor upkeep of the property. The handrail on the stairs has been broken since last time I was here in March. 2024. It's barely okay for a late check in with early check out. And the ice machine us broken. I was in room 202.
- 3/5
Good place to stay older building but clean and friendly. We stayed one night and left for cruise . You can leave your car there parked while on cruise . Shuttled to terminal. Pool was clean . Over all it was a bit better then OK . I would stay again.
- 3/5
Check in was easy, we were able to park for free for our cruise, and parked up front. Cars were safe. The bed was hard. The small round window was busted out and was covered in cardboard. The hotel needs a LOT of maintenance and I don’t think they have any plans on doing it. I did save a lot a money on parking. It was close to port and easy for Uber/lyft to pick. They also offered a shuttle to port. Staff was nice. The picture is from the 2nd floor. Not safe for kids or adults really.
- 5/5
Inn is near ferry station but when you come here, ignore the traffic by driving the right lane it will take you straight to the inn. Lee is really friendly. Its a place where you can get free parking for 7 days by staying 1 night for Cruise. Definitely coming back here for cruise trip.
- 5/5
I would stay here again Front Desk person at check out watching videos on his phone; after waiting several minutes, I had to interrupt his video watching to get service.
