Comfort Inn & Suites Glenwood Springs On The River

Breakfast was good. Eggs were great. Same thing everyday. The room key kept deactivating and the door was hard to open. I did like the proximity to the river and there was a Dairy Queen nearby. I didn’t get a checkout receipt when I turned in the keys even though I asked for one. I had to request one through the chat in Expedia. That process could have been better.

Everything was very well maintained. Bathroom s nice . Beds very comfortable, soft layer on top ( thin feather mattress like ) of the standard bed good , nice .Staff big smiles , jump at any request. Landscape well maintained .

Upon arrival the room was clean, but before coming we called and asked if there was body wash, shampoo, and conditioner and we were told yes. After a long drive and arriving at 9pm, we had issues with our TV and someone came and fixed it and then left and then we noticed when we tried to shower that there were two bottles of conditioner and no shampoo or body wash. We asked if they could give us some and they said they would just have maintenance bring it the next day because they didn’t want to come back up. Just lazy. Then we had to go down to get ourselves tiny bottles of body wash but no shampoo. A couple days in we asked for more towels and the guy at the desk decided to give my wife attitude about it over the phone and again they didn’t want to bring it up out of pure laziness so I had to go down and get more towels after arguing about it. They make a huge deal over a few towels. We also booked a room with a king size bed and definitely got put in a room with a queen size bed. We will never stay at this hotel again mainly due to the front desk staff that was no help and argued if asked to just do their jobs.

There were several things broken in our room- the dishwasher was not in good condition and the breakfast was mediocre. There were make your own waffles, to which the makers were sticking horribly, there was a yogurt dispenser with chocolate chips, granola, or sprinkles, three canisters of cereal, various toast but no pb- just butter or jelly, and some small pastries, juice, milk, and in the front you could get some coffee. They had eggs or sausage links as well. They were out of extra blankets and no towels for the pool across the street which is the shared pool. The pool had trash on the bottom but the hot tub was ok- 99° and clean enough. The microwave turntable didn’t work and the the trim on the shower was falling off. The bed was comfortable enough though. Overall it was ok, but a few improvements would show they actually care about the property and satisfaction of the guests.

Our stay was excellent. The only issue was that we had 4:00pm check-in, we arrived at 4:30p, and our room wasn’t ready, and we’d need to wait 30 minutes. Really not good.

It was very near the river, with wonderful views, a walking path along the river, and sitting areas. Glenwood is a very pretty! Staff was rude, and untrained. They attempted to double charge me, and then still had additional charges but couldn't explain why, just said I had to pay it to get my room, and I couldn't cancel.

Very clean with comfortable beds, very friendly and helpful staff.

The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The best eggs I have ever eaten at a hotel. The river was right across the way. A lot of places to walk &!potty your dog. However, I did not see any poop bag stations. The electricity went out all over the whole town. It came back on just before dark. Everyone was nice and trying to stay informed about the situation. I would stay again.

Hard to rate a place that I didn’t get to stay! Book this hotel on Booking.com. Got at Hotel and the lady at the desk said she had no rooms. Gave her my reservation number and she I would have to call Booking.com to see if I could get money back. Will not ever use Booking l.com again Didn’t get to stay there don’t know why they are asking me to review

Disappointing

All dishes were dirty and sticky kitchen floor, we had to clean them all prior to eating. The rest of the room was OK, just the kitchen needed some extra care. Loved the location.

Everything was absolutely lovely, except the breakfast was lacking in variety. The breakfast area was very clean, just the options were minimal.

There was blood stain on our sheets . And blood on one of the towels .. all they need to do is throw out and get new ones .. was kinda gross and not sanitary . Prob won’t stay there again .

I booked a suite via Expedia for this property. When I got there, my room was not a suite. When I spoke to the front desk, they claimed that all of their rooms were suites. When I showed her a picture of what I was expecting (a room with a pull out couch), she still said what I had was a suite (it was a regular room with no couch). She then blamed me for using Expedia. I was charged extra to get what I had already booked. I tried to call the corporate office. They told me to go back to the front desk (I had already tried twice) or complain to Expedia. I had provided the receipt from Expedia that clearly said suite. I told them it was not my responsibility to communicate with Expedia. It was their company's job to make sure that they are communicating adequately with third party vendors that they use like Expedia. I was told a formal complaint was made, but heard nothing else. I don't understand why I was told all rooms were suites (when they clearly were not). Other than this issue, the hotel and the stay were lovely.

Nice room, bigger than i expected only huge problem, the room have this funky smell, we couldn’t figure it out the smell, really intense and 1 of the tv’s didn’t and all the cables and connections where out and messy!

The balcony

The rooms are large and it’s close to Iron Mountain Hot Springs. I had a hair in the shower and it wasn’t mine or my wife’s. There was a large group of people on our floor. They were so loud. The front desk first put me on hold indefinitely and then they just didn’t pick up the phone. It was ok if it weren’t for the things I mentioned.

Room was dirty, mold in the sink, dirt and hair piled up in the corners of the bathroom. Beds were comfy. Noise here is wildly loud! You can hear every TV and conversation in the next room, and the hotel is NOT on the river. False advertising- it's nowhere close to the river. There is another hotel on the river that we will be staying at next time.

There was a beetle found in the bed. The bottom half of the tv was broken. The sound on the tv was broken Unfinished Drywall mud had been installed around the shower. Not primed, painted, sanded, or textured. The waste line for the sink was routed exposed running parallel to the wall. The toilet was installed crooked. Breakfast was terrible. Stayed 3 days and all 3 days it was poor. Heck the waffle mix was pretty much water. Shower head leaked. Room had a weird smell. Like old/rotten Mexican food. Good: The front desk had a wine opener even though it was broken it worked! Not crowed Easy check in Heater/cooler worked Fridge was nice. Room had a balcony

We loved everything except we had the same exact breakfast 4 days straight. Sausage and eggs every day. Would have been nice to have bacon one day or ham/cheese omelette. Just needed a different meat choice instead of sausage links every day of our 4 day stay.

Nice that they are dog friendly and have suites enabling you to make your own meals. We’ve been to many places that offer a hot breakfast, this was the worst. Sausage was overly greasy and all of the waffle mixes were separated and gross. Our waffles all turned out mushy. There for 3 nights but never went back to breakfast after day one. Also lots of in unit oddities… We were a group of 5 but there were only 3 glasses. Using the oven we saw that there were no oven mits. The front desk just gave me additional hand towels, and told me that additional glasses would be sent up… they never were.

It was ok staying in the suite, comfortable especially with 2 king beds. I think they could pay more attention to the cleaning. The curtain was dirty. The bathroom floor was full of hair.

2. The bed was not made right and sheet was on the floor. 3. Sheet set for pullout sofa was dirty. It has brown and bloody spot on it. 4. The door key stopped working after about 1 day and we went down to ask front desk. Once again, no apologies, just a simple statement: oh our keys are old, so this happen all the time. And she was not happy when I made an unhappy scoffing sound. 5. Morning breakfast is a just a joke. If you get there 30 minutes before 9am, then good luck getting anything to eat, they don’t refill anything after that. If you ask, they will just shrug their shoulders and say: yeah, no more. 6. Ice makers don’t work. Terrible experience and I would never live in this hotel and would advise anyone to stay away.

Yes, the breakfast includes fruit, juices, hot drinks, eggs, and sauces. Parking is secure and safety!!! Staff is very kind and nice, helpful and knowledgeable about places to visit in Glenwood Springs. We feel very satisfied and excellent service!!! Thank you!!!

The breakfast was lackluster. One small food area and literally 100 people, speaking numerous languages and just moving about like there was no order. The food itself was constantly running out and when it was replenished, the first people would gorge there plates to almost overflowing leaving only a small portion for the next person. I guess they felt the food was slow coming so without regard to others, they had to get it when it was there only to throw it away. It must have been difficult for the staff to keep up with such a frenzy.

Gorgeous hotel. Friendly and funny staff. Breakfast room was stocked so well with a kosher yogurt option. (This surprised me being on the western slope) It should have 5 stars.

Shower looked like someone had poured their coffee in the tub and no one cleaned it. I noticed it in the am when I was getting ready to take a shower, so it was too late to change rooms. Check in was efficient and friendly. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast sausage was so salty it was un edible. Bananas and apples were brown.

The room smelled a bit musty but was clean. The shower was a problem. The shower head was on a track where it could be raised and lowered, but it wouldn't stay raised. There was no way to transfer the flow to the upper, stationary, shower head. Very uncomfortable.

Because of this we decided to cut short po our stay in the hotel and left early

My biggest complaint was that there were no extra linen or pillows for the pull-out sofa bed. By the time we realized that we had already changed and didn't want to go to the front office to ask for these things. I just would have expected it to be in the room like other hotels. That was my biggest complaint but I do realize that I could have just asked for it despite being inconvenienced. Otherwise the place was nice and the staff was lovely. I would stay there again.

Perfect place

Room was very clean and spacious, beds were comfortable. However, the bathroom smelled as though someone had been smoking in it. Did not affect sleeping area. When I notified front desk about the smell shortly after checking in, she was very apologetic and noted it on our information so we would not be charged for violation of the non-smoking policy.

Not great. The elevator was half torn apart during our stay, the pack n play that they had available was absolutely disgusting, the keys stopped working a couple times a day and they don’t answer the phones. Honestly, stay anywhere else.

The hotel was good overall, and a for the price we were happy. It is a hotel that you will have highway crews stays out. Not alot of amenities, but what what we paid it was good.

The girl who checked me in was extremely nice. The room was not cleaned very well as we found a pair of men's swimming trunks and a cigarette butte on the balcony. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired, not very good.

We partially booked this hotel because it's called "Comfort Inn & Suites Glenwood Springs on the River." IT'S NOT ON THE RIVER. The river is behind the Quality Inn that's across the street. We booked a two queen suite for more than $500 for two nights. Well, they stuck us behind the elevator, so it WAS NOT A SUITE! We've staying in bigger rooms that only had a king bed. When we got to our room, the TV didn't work. At first, we thought it might be the batteries in the remote. So, my husband went to the front desk to get batteries. NOPE, that wasn't it. So, he went to the front desk again and the girl said she'd come to our room. Well, she tried it out and decided it might be the Xfinity box. So, she went and got a new one, plugged it in, and left. Well, that didn't work with the remote, so my husband had to call the front desk again to ask for the remote that went with the Xfinity box. By the time the girl brought that, we had wasted 45 minutes of our evening--when we were trying to get ready to leave for dinner. Then when we checked out, the girl at the front desk could not have been any more unfriendly. She didn't ask how our stay was--NOTHING! Just said we owed $10 for parking. WHAT A RIP! We'll stay elsewhere next time we visit Glenwood Springs!

Breakfast was ok! Room was clean and confortable, but the front desk clerk at the time we arrived was rude first by phone as I call to advise we will be arriving around an hour late and then in person as she did not even acknowledge us, she was short as she was checking us in, it just look like she did not want to be there!

Got an upgrade to a double room with a kitchen. The place was very clean and comfortable.

The room had a very strong nasty smell, like a mixture of sweat, pee and tons of dirty socks. It was absolutely filthy. We got the two bedroom suite with 2 king size beds and kitchen, the stove looked like it had never been cleaned, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, the carpet is super stained and worn out, couch looks gross and outdated, I do a full inspection for bugs, thankfully no bugs besides a beetle but the mattresses were super stained and smelled really bad, the tub looked so gross we wouldn’t dare touch it, the bathroom was mostly ok but the floors were dirty. I don’t think the cleaners know how to properly mop. The kitchen sink was also really gross and full of some yellow gunk around the drain. None of us were able to sleep mostly because the dirty feet/sweat smell was so strong it was making the 6 of us nauseas. That hotel is a complete dump and definitely way overpriced. They need to hire some cleaners that actually know how to do their job and they’re in desperate need of renovations!!

Quiet location. Clean property. The location is good if you want to be slightly away from the center of town, noise and traffic. Easy access to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall it's a nice property. The staff was ok, the rooms were clean. My only issue was with the air conditioner, it was loud and didn't work all that great. The breakfast only goes until 9:00am. It is a great location near downtown where we had a great meal at the Riviera Supper club.

Terrible experience. Poor customer service and they do not even have a respect for customer. I was checking in and the the girl upfront walked away leaving me at the counter and had to wait about 10 min to check in . One a checked in. The room stinks.. it was unpleasant experience. Stay away from this hotel

Cockroaches. Smart tv doesn’t work. They have it blocked from internet. All of the lighting is fluorescent and cold, further giving it a dirty low rent feel

We had interactions with 2 staff members during our 3 night stay; one was very pleasant, the other was not. She was very rude but since we were on vacation I let it go. I witnessed the same rude one interact with another customer and she was equally rude. She shouldn’t be working there if she can’t deal with customers.

Hotel does not look thesame on the photos, everything appears new on photos but current condition is old and dirty , even the smell is not pleasant. Worse is tub is clog and when requested the desk for maintenance, it took so long to come and fix , delaying our plans. Person on the reception does not even no how to smile .

Free breakfast needs improvement

This is an overpriced budget hotel. The good: comfortable bed. Location was easy to get to and quiet. The bad: A/C was noisy as hell and temp fluctuated, making it hard to sleep. Though reasonably clean, some previous guest items were left behind. Mini-fridge was actually a mini-freezer (everything froze solid overnight). Breakfast was simple/limited; nothing special. Parking is cramped and trucks partially blocked areas. Some remodelling is going on, so obstacles were plentiful. Pool is across the street at a sister property.

Beautiful view in the mountains, colorado river within walking distance of the hotel. Parking was limited, we had to park at the hotal across the road. They shared a pool with the same hotel across the road. Beds were too firm for our preference. Breakfast was odd, pancake maker was only intermittently working, multiple plates were dropped as there was no place to place plates while accessing food service lids and utensils.

One of the best hotel stays in a while. The staff was wonderful!

The mattress was caved in the middle. There was no internet the entire stay. The sheets were too small and didn’t stay on the mattress.

We had a lovely stay and would have given it 5 stars, if it weren't for the terrible fold-out couch that was literally just springs and impossible to sleep on. The two night staff were WONDERFUL and really helpful, doing everything they could to make it as comfortable as possible with an extra comforter because my daughter was freezing cold. The staff member on the day shift was not interested in assisting us at all and refused to provide an additional blanket unless we paid for it! At what hotel do you pay EXTRA for bed linen??? Thank goodness for the lovely two ladies who worked at night - if not for them, we would not be back. (Which would have been a pity because the room was clean and comfortable, and had everything else we needed.)

Manager was not helpful and his communication was sadly lacking. I forgot a couple of clothing items in the closet when I checked out and called him later that day to tell him. He never responded. The lights kept going out in our bathroom and then would come back on. It was not a light bulb, but a strip around the mirror. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn’t. Sometimes it would go out when I was in the shower. I informed the front desk on my second day and again on the third day. Finally saw the manager when I checked out and he said he would take 10% off my bill but offered no apology.

They gave us a key to a room that was already occupied. It was the worst experience.

Check in was very fast. Staff greeted us and were nice. We had an issue with the door to our room getting stuck. It takes several tries and a little bit of magic to push just right so when it unlocks it also unlatches the lock. Room had a weird smell but we got used to it. The bedding smelled clean. Beds were comfortable.

Definitely not a good experience. Cleanliness was good, however our air conditioning didn’t work, room was extremely warm, one of the lights didn’t work, the breakfast was what I expected however to save money they seem to water down the waffle mix so much nobody making waffles could get one, everyone I watched including us had to scrape the waffle off the top and bottom of the waffle maker, no amount of non stick spray helped because the mix was super runny. Wish we would have paid to go elsewhere. Will not return to this hotel.

Unfortunately the hotel seemed very rundown. There were many things in need of maintenance and repair. There were several things falling apart in the room. The floor and couch also had large stains. Half of the parking garage was blocked with equipment. Breakfast selections were limited. There was no variation. The breakfast got old after 3 days. My family and I will be looking for somewhere else to stay next time we visit.

Had ozone machine running in room and I got sick to my stomach and hard breathing. Find out when ozone cleaner is running there is supposed to be no occupancy in room. They moved us when requested but it was too late. Still have horrible taste in mouth and heavy chest. Got no sleep and going to cost us extra night in motel cause to tired to finish trip home. Unexceptionable stay.

Got an upgraded room for free simply because my family had a long day traveling and Xavier said they needed the room to get a comfortable night rest. I have never been treated so nice at a hotel!

Nice rooms and centrally located

Nice clean rooms. Parking was difficult. It was full when we arrived.

It was short but good. The only issue was about every 1.5 to 2 hours during the night we heard several popping noises. It sounds weird, but it was like someone was throwing ice cubes or pebbles at the back of the tv. Other than the lost sleep from that it was a very nice place.

Hotel is dated. We did not get any housekeeping for the 4 days,we stayed. Breakfast was terrible. No sufficient parking on the property. Got questioned why I need fresh towels...will never return to this property.

It had started to rain and parking in the basement was spacious, clean, light and convenient- close to elevator and rooms. It was also very apparent that they are refurbishing and working hard to keep things up to date! Everyone nice- but the telephone system is a tad weird to call the desk if they are on the phone. Bed was comfy but I was not thrilled with the pillows (nothing terrible) and my wish would always be to have plenty of hooks and bars because never enough space to put clothes, towels, two toiletry bags, whatever - - and taller toilets - I'm dreaming of course. But I was happier here than some more expensive places - so tight and tiny spaces- some - NO closets even! The usual breakfast stuff.

Bath tub dirty

The refrigerator in our room kept buzzing, I unplugged it because it was annoying next to where you’re sleeping. Breakfast was terrible, the eggs were runny, the waffle dispenser was faulty, the orange juice was colored water. Worst breakfast!

NOT on the river, but it was clean. Breakfast was a little skimpy. I would have loved a bagel and cream cheese. The room was ok. I had a hard time getting it to a comfortable temp with the wall thermostat. Not sure if it was working. There was pretty easy access to just about everything in the area.

It was fine. The room was very lived in, not as clean as had hoped, and the stove was broken.

I was able to check in early, and very grateful for the underground parking. All areas were clean, and property was as advertised. If needed, would stay again

breakfest was the worst i ever had at any hotel

We chose the business king room since it has a sofa. Unfortunately the sofa was so firm it was difficult to get comfortable. The room was clean. Was nice to have a little balcony even tho we didn’t use it. People above us sounded like they were moving things around, knocking things over, etc. when I commented to the front desk person this morning, she just stared at me. Never said a word. Not very customer service oriented. I would give their “hot” breakfast a D. There wasn’t even any jelly for toast. Very little selection.
