Red Roof Inn Buffalo – Hamburg/ I-90

I was not impressed with this location. Room was very dirty, smelled like someone had been smoking in there for days, burn holes in the blanket, broken dresser.

I've been here coming up on 4 months and I am extremely comfortable the staff is very courteous and professional the rooms are well maintained the water pressure is great and the property layout is also very welcoming

Bed was very comfortable. Check in was easy and girl was very friendly. Room was clean but rather old. What was surprising, was lack of things you usually expect such as soap to wash your hands.

Could not use the air conditioner / heater because of the dead bugs and mold in the unit. The blankets were stained and you do not dare step on the floor. There was a beer bottle on the stairwell . They say its a smoke free room, did not smell like one. I usually try to leave a good review

Inn was quiet and staff did seem to want to help , however the White fitted bed sheet appeared stained with old sweat marks . Bed cover also dirty around some of the edges. Not all rooms had a microwave or fridge. Soap dispenser to wash hands did not work.

Booked this place due to the low price and did not check previous reviews. The room was dirty and dusty, we ended up spending a lot of time away due to allergens. But we needed a place to stay for one night and the bedding looked and smelled clean, that was the only plus. No fridge or microwave, and the dresser was broken and missing a drawer. No soap in the hand dispensers. Stained towels. The door to the room was also shoddy and could easily be pushed in, we didn’t feel fully safe. There also appeared to be several people who live there with children, the kids were knocking on our door and running away repeatedly. They also kept throwing a ball against our wall. This went on until well after 9 pm.

Bugs in the rooms. Holes punched in the bathroom door. Dirty linens and a seriously strong cigarette odor. Also the fridge was iced over and non functional.

My room had someone’s old food in the fridge, which had freezer burn and looked like it had been there for years, the microwave looked like it had been used in a frat house with spills all over it. There was no soap, shampoo, toilet paper or trash can in the room. When I called the front desk she said ‘we don’t supply soap’. When I walked to the front desk for toilet paper the staffer member poured some liquid hand soap in a dixie cup for me. The door had a 2” air gap at the bottom so my room was the same temperature as outside (pretty chilly overnight). There were bo towel bars and several lights did not function. The parking lot was not well maintained and had warning signs posted everywhere to ‘park at your own risk’. It generally gave movie murder scene vibes. I have stayed at all kinds of hotels across the states and Europe and I can say, this was the worst. The bed was made and clean which was its only positive. Maybe it doubles as housing for homeless people? I am not sure, but there was a complete lack of care of the property for seemingly no reason. A lot if the lights were out for the sign, so it read as ‘doo’ which was accurate, it was the doo doo inn.

I picked this place without checking the reviews which was a mistake - the many bad reviews seem justified - they gave me two full beds instead of a king bed that I reserved; the door security guard fell to the floor as soon as I opened the door (I put it back on but needs fixing) - room seemed to smell a bit probably from smoking. the soap dispenser was empty so I used body soap from the bathroom.

I would give zero stars if I could. Was given a very dirty room at first, rat poop in the drawers and IN THE SHEETS! Fire alarm kept beeping and I told front desk and they acted like I was lying. They finally sent someone to my room and he just took battery out (was still beeping) and he said he couldn't fix it without manager approval....offered a new room...great! New room was still gross but less gross. Still rat poop in the drawers. Toughed through it since I just drove 400 miles with my husband and toddler. Don't stay here

Loud til 1AM Restarting at 7AM

This hotel was chosen because of low price. We stayed there for three nights because my daughter was graduating. Here is the problems with this hotel. There was no microwave in the room. We had to request an ironing board. The light above the bed was not working. The management at this motel is renting rooms to the local homeless population. There are addicts wandering around all over the property. The air conditioning/ heater unit in our room was worn out. It worked but made a loud grinding sound. The owners of this location are Indian and they don't put money into the property. Even the neon display lights on their sign facing the highway are burnt out and they don't replace them. The only good thing about this hotel is low price.

Drive way has potholes as soon as you turn onto the property. They need a better paint job for the whole motel look old and crappy. The lobby smelled bad as soon as you walk in. The tv did have a remote so I went down to the lobby and they gave us one but it did not connect to the tv. As a motel that should at least be in every room.

The staff was great, but that’s about where it ended. The bathroom door didn’t shut, there were pubic hairs in the bathtub, the safe had a whole cut out of it, a dresser drawer was completely broken and off the slides, the ac unit worked but the top was all busted. Towels were clean, bed decently comfortable. No soap at the bathroom sink to wash hands after using the bathroom. The floors were a little sticky.

water faucets were reversed. What should have been "cold" was hot, what should have been hot was cold. Someone installing the line was clueless.

Parking lot needs work. Ton of potholes and property was not very clean with ice maker out of order, garbage bins and other cleaning items left in corridors. Great restaurant next door was a positive. Average hotel at best and ownership should make investments in improving the property experience instead of making it a money grab.

Room was not set with bath towels or toilet tissue. One night of the stay the water was only warm.

There was nothing good about the hotel...the location off the I-90 was the only thing that was good. The staff was in training...the room was not clean...dirt and smug on the doors...floors were never clean...had to walk thru in my boots...the sheets were dirty...and to top it all off there were roaches crawling on my bed...I was so discussed I left the hotel...this place is for junkies and drugies...I will do my best to send everyone I know about this place not to stay...and even go in social media to drive business away....I did 3rd party booking, but the staff still refused to refund me my money...I don't know how the staff lives but this is unhealthy.

We had no hotwater for 6days and have been lied to by the manager and a staff at the hotel.We asked for a refund for the 6 days and got nothing but lies I was standing in the hotel lobby when two guest's checked in they never said a word about the water issue.

While the staff support was very good and appreciated, the condition of the room was disappointing. The room was quite run down. The safe was not working. The dresser was broken and missing a drawer. Guest chair was broken. There were a lot of bugs. Paper thin walls, neighboring room partied all night and into the morning. Cost to stay here should be a 1/4 of what was paid.

Sheets had stains, bedding had stains, no shampoo in the bathroom, sink was leaking underneath. Had to go and buy bedding to sleep in the bed because staff said they couldn’t get new bedding till the next day. Overall would not ever stay again at a red roof inn

I would like to get this a 2 1/2 stars as you get what you pay for. It was a decent place to be able to store your luggage, sleep, and shower. Although they are trying to update the rooms, the building is in search old conditions that the repairs look like they were done by your brother-in-law instead of a professional. The staff were nice when we had to deal with them, which was very minimal and they did allow us to check in early. The amenities in the room were very minimal. It was nice that they had a refrigerator which barely worked in my room and a microwave. They had a Soap dispenser at sink with conditioner and body lotion and the shower had shower gel and shampoo, but neither of those were usable. The room smelled like smoke severely when we checked in and I had requested non-smoking rooms. I had to buy two cans of air sanitizer and it took three days to clear it out. Had stayed at this location a few times before and always enjoyed it due to it being what I consider prime location in town. I did notice a new hotel behind it, which I will probably elect to book instead of this one this time. It was extremely noisy at night with some of their more permanent guest playing Loud thumping music.

This was one of the worst stays of my life. Used towels in our bathroom. Black curly hairs on the shower wall, towels and pillow. The heating did not work. If it were not -10 outside, I’d rather sleep on my car. The receptionist ignored us, he was in the back on his phone. Had to call reception twice in order to get basic service. This establishment should not be allowed on hotels.com. They need to downgrade their hotel rating to a 0 star, 2 stars is far too generous.

The room was dirty upon arrival. It smelled as though someone had just used the bathroom & there was something disgusting on the floor, I am telling myself it was food, but jury is out. If I could have changed hotels, I would have. The fact that this is endorsed by hotels.com is disgraceful.

On the positive side, the service at the lobby was good, the internet worked well, and the parking was easily accessible.

You will get what you expect here if you have read the reviews. We picked it because of its proximity to Highmark stadium and booking last minute when other hotels in the area were booked up. We knew from reviews that it wasn't going to be swanky but we might have been surprised by how 'budget' it really was. It served its purpose but I am not sure I will return.

The property was not taken care of overall. The building was run down, room horrible unclean and in ill repair. Sheets and bedding stained, walls and ceiling had stains on them, the floor was sticky and falling apart, furniture damaged, shower drain broken, door did not seal properly so was letting in bugs. I would NOT BOOK THIS ROOM! There is a nicer Hampton Inn right down the street.

Pictures on the site are very dated- it felt like a cheap and seedy motel instead of the inn pictured.

The floorboards had water bubbling out from underneath them as we walked, hole in the bathroom door, mystery substance on the sink, blood on the sheets, bugs in the corners of the room, floorboards lifting up off the floor, a child clearly colored on the floors as well as the furniture, it was disgusting. I stayed because I had already checked in late and was exhausted but do not stay here it’s gross.

The bed was fine except we got a king room and 3 pillows. The pillows were extremely flimsy and didn't have much to it so one for one person was def not enough. Other than that our sta was great! And to be fair for the property, we also didn't ask for any extra.

I booked through another company. They paid for another hotel for me as this was dirty, smelled like smoke, had holes in walls and had bugs. I was disgusted and would’ve slept in my car before a room here.

Room wasn’t as clean as I’m use to sheet had a stain on it. We only stayed 1 night of our stay and switched hotels. We got in late Friday and spent the day out and about on Saturday came back to the room and the key card didn’t work. Cleaning staff saw and let us in. Good thing we were moving hotels.

In the first 10 min in our room we found a bed bug, the sheets were dirty, the chairs were dirty, they did move us to another room that was at least a little bit better, we asked for a refund so we could go somewhere else but they wouldn’t do that. 100% would never stay here again.

In town for a family wedding. Checked in about 9 pm after an 11 hour drive. Went through 3 rooms before finding one without stained sheets and comforters and working heat/ac. One side of the building is right next to a major highway and is VERY noisy. Killed at least 5 bugs in the room over 3 days. Generally not very clean. Old furniture. Looks like it hasn't been updated in decades. Staff was helpful.

The front desk staff were nice. Both keys did not work upon getting to my room so I had to go back to the office to get working keys. The front of the dresser was missing a wood panel. The beds were very uncomfortable and the room was very dated. The outside A/C unit was missing a cover. It looked like a $50 room, not a $150 room.

Well… the property is clearly outdated. It did the job, but at the price point was at least hoping the bedding wasn’t stained up and room didn’t smell like smoke. But, it felt safe enough and the staff was friendly

The property has changed owners. This used to be a really nice and affordable place.

This was the most horrible experience I have had in any Expedia reservation. As I arrived at 3pm on Sep 7, I was told by the hotel clerk on duty at the reception that Expedia had cancelled the reservation and I had no reservation. After arguing with with clerk, he noted that such cancellation was an Expedia issue and they had nothing to do with that. Frustrated, I had to spend sometime to find another accommodation on a rush and ended up paying twice the amount of this reservation on the most horrific hotel available in the area.

I must say everybody is very friendly and the staff is very nice but I've been coming to this place for over 20 years and as the years have progressed it has gotten worse when I first got there there was dirty clothes in the bathroom and there was 30 linens on the bed I was disappointed because it's one of my it was one of my favorite places to stay but this time really disappointed me about how I'm cleanly it was and the area is starting to fall apart

Pictures are very deceiving. The deadbolt to our room was broken and ripped off, the light by the washroom did not work, the bathroom door is falling a part, and stains on the sheets.

The room smelt musty upon arrival. No toilet paper available, no clean towels. Left the room for the day. Upon return, they never bothered to do the bed or clean the room.

DO NOT stay here. The place is extremely run down, with questionable people, who appear to live in the hotel (?) roaming around constantly outside of their doors. The weeds growing up all around the place should have been enough to keep me away. I travel solo very often, and rarely as a grown man do I feel unsafe - EXCEPT FOR HERE. Avoid this dump at all costs.

The floor in our room was sticky and felt filthy with an area in the bathroom that looked like stool on the floor. When we asked the staff to clean the area, he handed my husband a mop, which was as dirty as the floor. This is our second experience with Red Roof being poor- never again!

Stayed 13 nights in a Standard King room, refrigerators were not an option for that room. Even with the lengthy stay, they would not put one in temporarily. Exterior and rooms need some TLC, there is a lot of sagging paint and plaster everywhere.

Bathroom floor had something stuck to it that we had to scrape from the floor and the microwave door was dirty also.

We walked into a room with a dent in the bathroom room, looks like someone punched it, and stained sheets on the bed. I actually was able to deal with that, but, then someone was able to key open my room trying to break in at 3 am. It was the most terrifying night of my life. Oh yeah, and thanks Red Roof Inn for charging me full price for that great stay. I will NEVER stay at a Red Roof Inn EVER and I activity work to deter people from staying there.

The room was a complete letdown—nothing like the polished photos on Expedia. It was dirty, with a noticeable musty odor that was unbearable, especially for my pregnant wife and young child. The conditions felt unsanitary and far below standard. We couldn’t stay more than 30 minutes before checking out and booking a much better hotel nearby. The misleading online photos set false expectations. If you’re a solo traveler needing a quick place to crash, you might tolerate it, but for families or anyone expecting basic cleanliness, steer clear. Save yourself the hassle and book elsewhere.

Property is fine. Toilet had flush difficulty. Squishy bathroom floor. Bed fine, not enough pillows for two people.

This property was not properly maintained or clean by any stretch of the imagination. The pillows were completely flat, lack of housekeeping on a daily basis, no breakfast. Walls and floors in the bathroom were dirty and poorly maintained/kempt. Bathtub was extremely dangerous... hold on to grab bar!! Floors within the unit were grimy, gross, and moist.

The room was non refundable and we were late in the evening or we would not have stayed there.

Bath mat in bathroom was filthy, the shower was filled with mold and hair. the bed sheets were stained and the pillows must be several years old with how flat they are. It was very loud with the freeway, could hear the traffic all night. I travel a lot, and this property is by far the worst I’ve stayed in. Never again.

Silverfish in the tub. No cups, no coffee maker. Toilet not anchored well to the floor (lots of rocking and rolling). No assistance with an accidental double booking. Expedia has been trying to contact them for days.

The room had noticeable dust on the furniture, and the only table provided was extremely wobbly. We reported the issue on the first day, hoping it would be resolved quickly, but despite repeated requests, the table wasn’t fixed until the day before our departure. Even then, the repair was not properly done, and the table remained unstable, which made it difficult to use comfortably. This inn has potential and offers a simpler, more budget-friendly option, but if it hopes to attract and retain more guests, greater attention to cleanliness and basic maintenance would make a meaningful difference. A little more care in these areas could significantly improve the overall guest experience.

Building needed repair. No hair dryer. Ice machine not working. There was a great restaurant next to the hotel.

I walked barefoot and my feet were black not very clean. No coffee maker in the room. Room had a funky smell not a clean smell ice machine broken tv couldn’t hear it like they had a governed on it so with ac running couldn’t hear tv. Very gurgle with supplies like t-paper & no tissues . Only a desk chair no other chairs to sit on dresser drawers screwed shut needs new one. Would not recommend this red roof inn to anyone

The picture of the room showed a microwave and a fridge. It didn't have either. All on site ice machines were broken. We'll most likely stay elsewhere on our next visit

Reserved two rooms. They were very very run down rooms. I don't know if they gave us the worst rooms they had because we booked through Hotels .com which is a third party or not but both rooms were awful. In one bathroom molding off by sink. Bedroom floor sticky. No room service. Both shampoo and body wash containers in both rooms were empty and when bought to their attention, was told will tell housekeeping. They did not get filled. Asked for new towels, was told had to come to desk to get them. Will not be staying at this Red Roof Inn again. I hope all Red Roof's are not like this one.

We checked in went to our room mind u we were 2 states over so and the concert we were going to had all nearby hotels booked up so we had no choice but to stay there as soon as we walked into our room there was dead cockroaches on the floor I did not get a bit of sleep the whole night the next morning I went to pee there’s was live roaches in the bathroom I took a picture and went straight to the front desk told the manager person at the desk and they said well we are going to investigate and if we find evidence of roaches we’ll refund part of your money to the card used at check in. I was livid and we left immediately very disappointing and would never go back to this location

Awful! Dirty! Not safe area. People walking around 24/7. Roaches. Smells like marijuana all through our property. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke. Awful!!!! Tried to find a different place to stay but everything in the area was sold out.

Condition of our room was not good

It was a very nice stay! The room was clean and quiet around us. The only issue was the toilet seat was broken/did not stay on, but no complaint!

The room smelled of cigarette smoke and the door needed mopping. The hand soap by the sink was empty.Pillows were uncomfortable.Toilet backed up, but maintenance was right on top of it.

This place needs an update out front, but the rooms werent the worst. Ours was clean, had plenty of outlets, and the bed was super comfy. The only things that werent great was that there werent enough pillows (need at least two per person), and the extra lock on the door was broken.

Ned was clean and comfortable. No shampoo in the room.

We did not stay. We checked in, front desk customer service was excellent. First room, smelled like cat pee and the entire room was filthy. Second room, dead bugs hair and nails on floor. We checked out immediately. Do not stay at this red roof.

Place was not suitable for families or comfort. Place is suitable for those with extra low level standards and personal respect.

The gentleman who checked me in was extremely couteous and friendly and understood my situation since I just had hand surgery and assigned me a room that was close to the office. The lady who was in the office in the morning was also very courteous and helped me get my coffee since I couldn't use my hand.

No ironing board, tv did not work well,

Room is dated, door lock questionable, but convenient and reasonable price.

The rooms were on par for the price but smelled of stale cigarette. My white socks were immediate dirty walking around the room suggesting all they do is sweap rather thann mop amd that was apparent with the dirt under the bed. Staff were efficient.

This property IS VERY poorly maintained. The floor in the room was sticky and dirty. My clean white socks were filthy after walking in and to the bathroom. We refused to walk on the floors without socks. The nightstand next to the bed was also sticky. The bathroom had mold and mildew around the tub and large spots on the walls that were obviously water damaged. There were three very old,flat, dingy pillows for a king bed that we really did NOT want to rest our head upon. Lucky for us, we stayed for one quick night. We are not picky people, but....Never again.

The bathroom was filthy. We cancelled our reservation and drove around looking for another hotel.

The room was very dirty and had a bad smell the air condition was broken I never seen a room as filthy as this one I will never stay at this property.

The room smelled like stale cigar smoke. The bedding smelled like stale cigar smoke. The bathroom floor was coming up and was wet when it was stepped on. The pillows are all so compressed that they are like bricks. When I asked for an extra blanket i was given a set of sheets and told that was indeed a blanket. When we returned to our room the 2nd night it also smelled like cheap pot. I wouldn’t recommend staying there to anyone.
