Reviews
The Scottish Inns and Suites in Kemah is a conveniently located hotel with a friendly and helpful manager, but some guests have reported issues with cleanliness and noise. The hotel is close to the Kemah Boardwalk and Johnson Space Center-Houston, making it a popular choice for tourists. However, some guests have complained about small beds, dirty sheets, thin walls, and cable issues. Additionally, parking is limited and some guests have reported a weird smell in the room and broken fixtures in the bathroom.

Musty smell in room, towels seemed old and smelled funny. We arrived late so lobby door is locked, I get it for security! When I rang doorbell man who came to door seemed bothered spoke through a thick glass and I couldn’t hear him because of traffic noise outside. Hotel sits right off highway.

Very clean easy acess to entertainment

The room was very clean, the only thing I had problems with was when I left my room in returning to my room the card key would not unlock the door, twice this happened. In two days in a roll. A little annoying.

The locatin was nice and so was the view, the room not so much, struggled to close the doors and towels were not exactly clean.
- 4/5
The room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Its within walking distance to the entire entertainment center of Kemah. Worked perfectly for our needs

The check in process was good. The room itself looked to be in good condition and looked pretty new inside. The air conditioner worked fine, just bit loud. The tv didn't actually seem to work and was not able to change the channel. I thought I would be able to leave the tv on for background noise. That was not possible. The traffic and the noise was quite loud inside the room though. Old hotel so expect that. It has a GREAT location near Kemah. THAT IS THE PLUS SIDE FOR THIS HOTEL. Although, if I had known the Marriott that looks two blocks away was really just like 500 ft away, I would of stayed there and probably got a better nights sleep.

Almost everything is horrible here. Moldy looking curtains, sheets with cigarette burns in a non-smoking room, cracks in the tiles, and really terrible upkeep. Almost nobody answers the front desk.

The room was clean

They made me pay again. I thought I already submitted payment to hotels.com.

The room was spotless clean. The bed was very comfortable. I appreciate the view of the marina across the street. The hotel is dated but well cared for in the rooms with fresh paint and comfortable furnishings. The staff was friendly. I enjoyed my stay.

Loved that everything was in walking distance. Would definitely stay here again

I checked in late at night. When I woke up in the morning, I saw roaches scattered across the floor. I immediately left.

We ended up not staying once we got to the hotel and saw how it looked. We had to book another hotel because we felt unsafe to even walk in.
- 3/5
Walking distance to the Kemah Boardwalk and all the restaurants and bars. Only used the room for sleeping, so it was ok for a one night stay. The room was clean, but the hotel is obviously battered by the weather and salt water.

They double charged me after ordering from expedia

This is a no frills hotel, but adequate for short stays. Location is good if you are visiting Kemah. The manager obviously lives there, and not always available. The outside areas are in disrepair, and filthy. Overall average stay at an average hotel.

It was a very nice stay. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. So close and it was a great price, will definitely come back.

Hotel was dirty, hair in tub, hotel room smelled like mold, made it hard to breathe. paid for a king room, got a double room, was told by clerk they had no open rooms available. And they had a no refund policy. Highly disappointed. Wouldn’t book again.

There do not appear to be any handicapped accessible rooms, as all rooms are up multiple flights of stairs. Yes, I saw a couple bugs in the room, it's Texas! Typical noisy A/C unit in room.

I live in Seabrook and we have no power after hurricane Beryl. This was the only place available. They are price gounging and taking advantage of a terrible situation. It shows $150 a night but each morning they change it to $296 a night. Supposedly no pets are allowed but the person next to me had 2 dogs that barked all night thru the paper thin walls and the TV didnt work. This place is a disgrace. They had an AC tho which is what i needed after 4 days of heat.

The Scottish Inns and Suites in Kemah was the perfect place to stay the night before our all-day adventure at Johnson Space Center-Houston. The drive from the hotel to the Space Center is less than 15 minutes, so you will be able to arrive on time for your timed entrance. We parked our car for free in their lot, then we spent the evening by strolling down Kemah's boardwalk. The manager on duty was SUPER helpful with suggestions for dinner and breakfast. Our room was clean...no nasty hotel carpet...and we had a pretty view of the harbor. The next day while we were at NASA, the manager called to say that I'd forgotten my favorite pillow in our room. We were able to backtrack after our day at NASA to retrieve it. I'm grateful for her kindness. Five stars to this property and their management!

Beds were small and sheets were dirty

The Cable kept going out. Several times it would flicker off and then back on again after about 10 seconds. A few times it went out completely for at least ten minutes which made the entertainment in the room very irritating. The parking was extremely limited. I didnt count but I would guess they had no more than 15 parking spaces in a cramped area. The room seemed clean but the bed covers were slightly stained and so were the towels. Other than that everything was very clean. There were no lamps in the room, only overhead bright lights. Overall I was a little disappointed, especially for the price I paid. But Im guessing, since its close to the Kemah Boardwalk, they are able to charge people more because of the location.

Vending machines out of order

No one was at front desk during check in or check out. There was a vehicle in the only handicap space with no tag and seemed to be abandoned. My husband is disabled. People staying there looked sketchy. Thank goodness we only stayed one night. Will not stay there again.

Spent the night in Kemah and this hotel was perfect. Clean, comfortable room with a GREAT air conditioner! Awesome view of all the yachts and super close to restaurants and boardwalk.
- 3/5
The room was spacious, clean, basically appointed. The bed mattress and duvet cover were very comfortable. The bottom sheet was not fitted and the mattress pad cover kept coming loose throughout the night. It was a short walk to the city sights.
- 4/5
It was convenient to be able to walk the area.
- 3/5
The location was good but the room was just okay. The deadbolt on the door wouldn't lock and there was a huge gap in our door. Traffic was pretty loud as this place is right off of busy roads. Pillows were dingy and the towels were really rough.
- 1/5
music retardedly too loud. Vehicles screeching tires honking horns be better just to sleep in car down road would probably get better sleep
- 4/5
Great no-frills stay for trip to Boardwalk... Close to everything, walking distance to Kemah Boardwalk.

Not clean. Thin walls
- 4/5
Staff very friendly and accommodating! Room was nice and location was great.
- 4/5
Located in great spot! We could easily walk to eateries and boardwalk
- 4/5
Stay was fine. The light outside was pretty bright at night. Wish they had room darkening curtains.
- 4/5
The sheets had stains and the tub was dirty but other than that the room was clean and parking was close to the boardwalk.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and very accommodating. The water pressure was very, very low and unable to stop up tub for bathing.
- 4/5
The locking ability of the door was questionable at best. I contacted the office to switch to a different room. No issue moving to another room, however the door again was still questionable. Not feeling the safety that a door and lock would give.
- 5/5
The staff was VERY friendly and accommodating.

But the bed was very comfortable. I give it 5 stars because it was so clean and nice, I wasn't worried about bugs coming out when the light were off. Lol.

Bedding was dirty! Soda machine was empty and cans for display had bugs in them. Overall - nasty. Should have paid the $100 more for a better stay.

First walk in to executive suite ,floors dirty something spilt on the floor in several location. Bathroom floor mat wet with shampoo spilt on it. I think it was used from previous guest and not changed. Big gapping hole under entrance door letting heat in and air out, door did not shut good. Bed was hard as a rock. The last I will ever stay there. There was stains on the sheets. The jacuzzi was green!

Didn't like the $20.00 charge shown for "xtra guest fee". We had room with 2 queen beds and we were 2 adults and 2 children.
