Econo Lodge Knoxville West - Turkey Creek

Not much at all I chose this hotel because Booking.com advertised a pool and free breakfast, but upon arrival, we learned that neither was available. The room was also unacceptable. I had to clean urine from the toilet seat, and the bathtub contained a large amount of hair. As if someone trimmed a couple inches off of their hair. We were provided only one towel and two washcloths, and there was just one small trash can for the entire room. The comforter even had dried mucus smeared on it. To make matters worse, housekeeping removed our used towels one morning but never replaced them with clean ones, and the bathroom was never cleaned during our stay. This was a very disappointing experience, and I will not be staying at Econo Lodge again.

They didn't have breakfast. They're lying—it says they have breakfast, but they have nothing. Not even coffee. It was very dirty; I reserved a non-smoking room, but it smelled strongly of cigarettes—it was awful.

No blankets. Was given the wrong room number on check in, went back to ask & was told ‘maybe’ another room & to try it.

good location off the highway was told it was a non smoking room and proceeded to find a half smoked cigarette underneath the bed. multiple patched holes in the walls. the room had stains all over the walls. it definitely needs a deep clean and a mold inspection.

Nice location and nice on the outside The bed was rock hard and horrible on my back, the shower stunk and the room itself was clean but the curtain was broke, there were stains on the walls, tears in the headboard of the bed.

This place is the worst. The linens were full of holes and they were old and worn. The room was dirty and you could see light all around the door. The service was horrible and the staff acted indifferently. I will never stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

The front desk person was rude checking me in, then told me even though I booked a king size bed the only room available was one with 2 single beds (I was sharing a bed with a my girlfriend so that was uncomfortable to sleep on), the comforter would be better off as a curtain it was so thin and uncomfortable. The room was dirty also.

The hotel needs a serious make over. The whole room was seriously gross. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever slept in.

Saying that this is a dump it will be too positive. There are no words to describe how disgusting, filthy and dirty this place is. Hotels.com should be more careful of what they offer in the website.

Not a dang thing, I come in my towel. I had stains on it look like it might even invent some blood on dirt is roaches in my bed sheet my bedspread had cigarette burning holes in it, and then I got roaches above me doing the Michael Jackson moonwalk and telling me to beat it

We only needed this as a rest stop for our trip so we choose it based on price, location, and the fact it advertised a free continental breakfast. When we went to the lobby to have breakfast before continuing our travels there was nothing there. We asked the person at the desk what time the breakfast was available. We were told with a smile that it would have been available at the time we showed up but they weren't offering it.

The room was run down. Shower curtain rod barely hanging on the wall, bathtub cover hanging by one screw. Towels definitely need replaced.

The shower rack seemed ready to fall off the wall, The bed covering had 6 holes from cigarrete burns. The ceiling had a large bubble, ready to fall down from a water leak. The bottom of the front door had a large gap which allowed bugs to enter. The rooms have no sound proofing so you hear all traffic and talking noises from outside.

Booked this for my father & he said he didn’t feel safe and it was very unclean & uncomfortable. He ended up having late check in and left early due to these conditions. The smoke detector wouldn’t stop beeping all night either. I believe in second chances and haven’t stayed myself but always would trust his judgment.

The most disgusting hotel I have ever been in. Advertised breakfast, didn’t even have coffee, not that I would have had it just based on how filthy everything was. Avoid at all cost!

Poor services

The website advertised amenities such as gym, laundry, and breakfast. However, none of these were available at this property. I was told that the property was renovated months ago, but the website had not been updated since.

First of all I sat in the front office for 20 minutes then when I do get the key to the room the beds wasn’t made up had electrical tape on some of the plugs the people that had the room before us trash was still in the trash can very bad first impression… never will I ever go back here

The TV is old and isn’t working

My stay was stay able only because Mahim whom worked the front desk was amazing. I felt welcomed and if I wasn't happy with let's say the entire room he would move me. Due to poor residency there were ample TV malfunctions and no remotes. Only one snack and one drink machine on site. Two ice machines and neither one of them worked.

The hotel was off the highway which was convenient. But the area around the hotel was dark. It was extremely rundown, with holes in the walls, cracks in the paint, cracks along the seam between the wall and the ceiling, towel bars broken. The person I shared the room with, their bed sloped down to the side, so they had to sleep on an angle to avoid rolling off the bed. There was a chemical smell in the room. The room heater worked, and the room was reasonably clean. For a room that could potentially fit four people, there was one bar of soap. They offered free breakfast online, but when I went to the reception desk, they said they no longer do breakfast at all. Overall rating for this hotel is terrible!

We had a good stay. The room was mostly clean. The chair was stained but we didnt use it. There was no actual blanket on the bed, so it was a good thing we brought our own. Heat worked very good and the hot water was amazing. The bed was comfy. We did not see any rodents or bugs or any indication of either in the room. It needs a good paint job, some new drywalling in the bathroom, and just a good update to the rooms in general but for the price i couldnt have asked for more. There was a food truck in the parking lot that would have been awesome if we hadnt had dinner already!

It was so bad we left after 20 mins and got a room somewhere else. I'd rather lose the money I spent on the room then spend the night there.

I WAS quoted a price form Hotels.com but was charged extra at the Hotel. Not happy about that. I basically paid the amount of of an extra day!

This property was very old with very basic amenities. No blow dryer and towels were dirty.

There was dry blood on the walls also human feces all over the walls as well the toilet was broke and pulled from the wall it was a very nasty place, I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Wow... dirty. The first room I booked had cheetos in the corner of the room. I discovered that the door does not lock, so I requested a different room. The second room had dirty tissues on the floor behind the bathroom door. All the cleaning person had to do was shut the door to see the mess, but it had clearly been a while since that had happened.

When i got to hotel it was 1am and i was extremely tired. My 9 y/o already passed out in car. Made reservations by they ended up getting canceled by hotel for other reasons but front desk manager was very friendly and could tell i was exhausted so put me in a room that had to be opened by him since outside keycard didnt work. Room looked nice at first glance. My daughter walked to first bed and plopped on top and passed right back out. I went int bathroom and it was beyond disgusting. Tub enamel was peeling off on inside sides, bottom was stained black, mold on shower curtain and all over ceiling. After getting all out electronics plugged up for the night, I pulled the bed covers back to fond burn holes on my bedsheets and pillow case and has one side stained yellow. Pulled all bedding off and checked for signs of bed bugs and lucky saw none, nor no cockroaches. Threw covers back on bed, propped front door and ran down to car and grabbed pillow and blankets. Slept ontop of hotel covers. If it had not been 1am I would have requested a refund and kept driving until i found a room. Definitely not worth the $80.00 I paid.

We checked into the hotel in a smoking room, had it not been 12 am and just traveled 13 hours from iowa we would have found different hotel. The room was filthy and very minimum necessities. Next morning we were going to check out but they did give us a non smoking room, was a nicer bed but still dirty. Last day there we went to get coffee because they have none and came back and our key wouldnt work, and hour before checkout and they de magnetized our key, guy asked if we were staying again and we said no we went to get coffee, he had to let us in our room. Then 10 minutes before check out he is knocking on our door to ask when we were leaving

It did what it needed to do, provide shelter for the time needed

It was horrible. Before I even got out of my car a guy tried to sell me some DeWalt cordless power tools. The first room they gave me only had one working light so you had a hard time seeing anything. The second room they gave me had such an odor I couldn't stay in there. The flooring is all warped and peeling up. The bed spread had cigarette holes melted in it, and it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. It looked like they painted the tub and the paint is blistering and peeling up. it looked very unhealthy. No way would I ever take a shower in there.

For the price, it was "you get what you pay for". Parking was horrible.

No carpet in rooms, no slip mat in bathroom, no table to eat on, door opens by pulling the handle upwards, place had roaches, 4 guest only 2 towels given, no breakfast, no pool, air didn't work right, price was decent, no phone in room, limited outlets in room, tub felt like it was going to fall through the next level, not cleaned like should be, Check in time is after 3, and you get what room you reserve they will not swap out if you change your mind or have an issue with anything.

Very poor conditions of all aspects of this motel. The crumbling spackle on the walls, yellowed and dingy walls, peeling and stained bathroom surfaces, and overwhelming bleach smell was disgusting.

Heavy Cigarette smell in non smoking room. multiple burns on both beds, counter tops and bath tub. Tub literally falling apart. Loud very loud traffic and people noise. Absolutely zero sleep due to the noise.

Check in was easy, and the room was good enough for what we needed, but was definitely the bare minimum. When we asked for additional towels (there were only 2 provided in the room) we were met with attitude and opposition I have never experienced in a setting like this before. The tub did not appear especially clean, but may have just been the finish peeling. The beds were comfortable enough. The floor of the room had clearly not been cleaned in a while, my 1 year old walked around barefoot for maybe 10 minutes and her feet were disgusting. I expected, with the hard surface floors, that they’d be cleaner than carpet might be. Bedding is clearly swapped between smoking and non smoking rooms, as the top covers had obvious burn holes in them.

The room had chipped paint in the tub. Also there where 3 spiders in shower curtain. Also one of the beds was broke! When set on it the bed almost flipped my grandson off!

Dirty property. Thankfully, we were there a very short amount of time before a scheduled flight.

Room so hat, no good air conditioning unit and dirty conditions in general. I do not recommend staying in this hotel.

We knew we made a mistake as soon as we pulled in parking lot. There were people hanging out outside smoking marijuana. There were only a couple parking spots, and the parking lot was blocked by cars at the end of the lot so people could hang out. The room smelled horrible. There were cigarette burns in the threadbare blankets, the furniture was water damaged and molded. When my daughter sat in the one chair in the room, the whole thing tipped over.

The worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. The room was old, in super poor condition, sheet and partial cover full of holes! Bathtub and walls were peeling, furniture was beat up, A/C was hard to control, it was a miserable stay. NEVER AGAIN!

The mattress was extremely old and stained all over and the whole thing was a dark yellow, the bottom of the mattress was also falling apart and ripped open. There was no mattress cover. The blanket and bathtub had cigarette burn marks everywhere even though it was a non smoking room. The bathroom was absolutely covered in black mold all over. Not to mention the environment outside was far from comfortable. A lot of sketchy people outside all night. Definitely will not be staying here again!

This property was very unclean. I had to switch rooms because the tub was not clean, there was roaches frozen in the freezer, the deadbolt would not lock and there was a smell like dirty moldy laundry. The other room was a little better but when I wore white socks the bottoms were black. The staff also asked me if the other room was still clean and intact for her to rent out. Just very unclean.

Clean and comfortable...and affordable... Non-Smoking room smelled like it had been a Smoking room not too long ago, but I got used to it. No breakfast...not even a cup of coffee. Pandemic no excuse for not firing up a coffee pot. No excuse for that.

We paid for a non-smoking room but the instant we opened the door all we could smell was cigarettes. The room felt filthy and I didn’t want to touch anything. The tub was incredibly dirty and the beds were uncomfortable, with too few pillows. Even just to stay for a single night, I will never stay here again.

We booked 2 nights because of location to where we needed to be. Went into the room was here 2 hours and roach fell from the sink when I talked to girl at the front desk her answer was well are you sure it wasn't a bed bug? Does that even matter i asked. Than was told I'll put you in a clean room. I think to myself that should of been the first thing that was done. 10 out of 10 don't recommend this of at all..

This place was very disappointing. I wasn't expecting 5 star amenities but even so it was very sad. Lights and outlets only worked in the rear half of the room. Tub was disgusting If I hadn't been exhausted from driving all day I would have tried to find another place.

I have visited couple of Econo Lodge hotels but this hotel was the dirtiest I’ve ever seen. I did sleep as I was itching. More over they have breakfast from 6am to 9 am on the advertisement but none was served. The mean and rude Customer service rep said they are serving due to Covid-19. Don’t impress guest by lying. Mold were on the bathroom walls and the room wrecked with pee. Very nasty and dirty and I will not recommend anyone to sleep in any of those rooms. They need to deep clean and sanitize that entire place.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. They double booked my pre-paid room. I was given a key at checkin and while I was sitting in my room someone else walked in with a key. I went down to complain and was told they didn’t have a room for me and that they could not and would not help me with an arrangement. Matt and Alicia were unhelpful and rude. I wound up in a wonderful place in Rocky Top. They should bulldoze this hotel and pave over it.

Good place to sleep

The room was very very dated. There were cigarette burns in the blanket on the bed. There was mold on the ceiling and walls in the bathroom. There was one towel. Three pillows for a king bed. No amenities. The paint was bubbling off the wall. You could here the interstate like you were parked on the shoulder. The curtains did not black out anything. Not somewhere you should stay unless sleeping on the cement in the middle of a snow storm is your only other option.

I seriously wonder if this place washes towels and sheets. I only used one towel because the others looked so dirty and had hair all over them even though they the were hung up. Shower clearly had not been cleaned. It was gross. The sheets looked fresh but the top “comforter” may not. I got in late-ish 9pm (I left at 5:30am) and was so tired from traveling I didn’t bother to complain plus the front desk girl wouldn’t have been helpful anyways. She clearly hates working there but honestly good for her working anyways! A jobs a job girl! The bed is rock hard I knelt on it at one point and seriously thought I but my knee in a spring 😅. I stayed here a few years back and don’t remember it being that bad.

Seems that there are alot of people living out of this location. People hanging out, drinking in the parking lot every night, a lot of activity after 11pm. Police presence (no less then 5 squad cars) every night or morning of out 3 night stay. Everything else was completely booked or we would have stayed elsewhere. Room was not cleaned very well, tv did not work, smelled very musty. .

This room was way overpriced. I've spent time in way better hotels for a lot less.

Very Good

It was fine, nothing fancy. But for a place to rest overnight it works. We were delayed on leaving on the checkout day the staff was terrible about it. Unwilling to work with us at all and we stayed there several times.

Bathroom was clean. Crack under door big enough to let bugs in, holes burnt in sheets, no cleaning service to change sheets or remove garage from the room.

Room was ok, but the commode seat was broken, the drain the the sink was very slooow., and the light connection by the beds didn’t work. But the beds were very comfortable.

Very scary area and didn't feel the safest staying there it's also right next to a major highway so prepare for night noise, no carpet which allows for pets and floor was very clean, overall I slept very well here surprisingly, little more repairs and would be a pleasant stay

Nice staff, clean rooms with comfy beds. My family was in town for medical treatments at Turkey Creek medical, the hotel was very close and easy to find, with lots of dining options nearby.

The place was in remodeled mode. Our bathroom was disgusting. There was flaking paint in the tub so who wants to sit in that? The toilet ran and made strange noises. Several spots in the room had plaster patches on the sheetrock that walls that needed paint. Dust all over. The bed spread was covered with dark stains. The blanket had multiple patches sewn on it. The sheets looked clean but were very dingy and smelt of bleach. The price of the room included continental breakfast, however when we tried to go into the lobby, we found the doors locked at 8am. We went to the overnight window and the owner waved us off with his hand when my husband asked if breakfast was being served. The owner was extremely rude at check in. He wanted us to pay again for the room when we had already booked and paid online. If we EVER come through this way again, I would sleep in my car

Awful. It looks like housekeeping just picked up the dirty towels and made the bed with the same sheets on it from the last people. The manager was a real jerk when complaining about it and wanted to charge me extra to change rooms. I will never go there again

Friendly desk clerk. Room in bad need of repair. Paint coming off walls, furniture needs paint, nothing on tables- lamps etc. refrigerator worked and there is also a microwave provided.

Our stay was great and the young house keeper was amazing she was very helpful and very friendly

The front desk girl was rather rude. The room smelled. The dour didn’t fit the entrance-I could see lots of light come through. There were cigarette burns in the bed spread and mattress pad. The toilet must have leaked because there was a dirty wet towel next to it.

Staff checked me in to under construction room. Obviously by mistake and gave me a different room but different from what I booked, and annoying when you arrive late at night. Plus, the room was completely destroyed (hole in wall etc) like haunted house! Very unprofessional. New room they put me in was very dirty, had cigarette burn marks on sheets, paint chipped everywhere, no proper temp control in shower OR the heater in room, barely any blankets available. It was so cold at night (February in Knoxville TN) absolutely horrible. Loud at night too. I understand it’s cheap but one of the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed. Almost want money back.
