Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location. However, many guests have complained about the noise from traffic and the mandatory valet parking, which is expensive and inconvenient. Some guests have also reported issues with the rooms, such as dirty sheets, empty toiletries, and broken plugs.

The location was perfect for the wedding location in the park. Our television wasn’t working, but eventually someone came to fix it.

Clean room, hallways and walk ways. Floors in lobby and restaurant always clean. Staff: Always helpful and pleasant. Breakfast: Oatmeal is ample and delicious. Traditional bacon, egg, potatoes and bread great. Bar: NA Computer and printer available to print airline tickets.

Didn’t eat breakfast, dinner was good though.

Twice I have stayed at this hotel and both times the AC has made noises throughout the night that has made it difficult to sleep. This time everytime it would cut on there was a loud falling noise of something loose inside. Having checked in later at night and traveling with kids once I realized the issue I decided not to bring it to the attention of the front desk.

Great beds to sleep soundly upon!

Did not eat breakfast. No pool or hot tub was a disappointment for this level of hotel. No pool or hot tub good location but amenities were lacking for price.

The property was nice, and the staff were great! We booked a room with a king bed and sleeper sofa before we arrived, we paid an outrageous amount for 1 night in my opinion, either way when we arrived we did valet which is the only thing they offer as far as parking but you have to pay for that as well which was an extra $40 for over night parking which is crazy but that’s my opinion. We get checked in and get to our room to find out it is a wheelchair accessible which is fine but it isn’t what we paid for at all, either was we get in the room to find out the air didn’t work at all it stayed 76-78 degrees all night so we stayed hot all night, the ac unit was leaking into the floor we assumed it was froze up or something, the shower flooded the whole bathroom floor because the shower head doesn’t move enough to keep it from spraying in the floor, so our stay was horrible. When we left the next morning we spoke to the front desk staff and she told us we got that room because they didn’t have any other room available but yet when we booked it online 2 hrs before we arrived it was available that’s why we went ahead and paid for it. So, needless to say we will not be staying here again. Good Luck to everyone else!

I would like to suggest to add couple of vegan/vegetarian main course options.

Superb
- 5/5
It is located in an amazing location, connected to the convention center. Walkable distance to Old City, art district and lots of restaurants. The hotel's amenities are great. They had free transportation locally within3 miles. Washer and dryer included.
- 5/5
We had a great stay! Beautiful property right next to World’s Fair Park and walking distance to The University of Tennessee. Very nice lobby and bar area to relax in for a night cap!
- 5/5
Had to pay an extra 40 bucks for parking even though I already paid almost 500 dollars for staying there.

- 5/5
I was shocked there was no pool or hot tub and I was told if I wanted to swim to go across the street to the YMCA!
- 3/5
The hotel was fantastic although $40 per night to park is a little expensive given the cost of the room. But had a great time, close to everything and comfy beds.
- 4/5
Location was great, liked being within walking distance of downtown, UT, market street. Staff upon arrival was very friendly and helpful. After booking our first night online as nonrefundable we decided to drive down the night before and called to add a night, the girl said she would have to get manager approval just to book the extra night separately. I did ask if I did that could we be guaranteed to not to have to change rooms, she agreed. Upon arrival I asked to combine the two nights but because they were booked separately they couldn't, we would have to check out on Sat AM, then back in but could stay in the same room. Busy with our plans I failed to go to the desk to check-out and back in so when we got to our room we were locked out, very frustrating that when I called she didn't just ask for approval to add a night to our reservation to avoid the back and forth

Front desk staff were helpful and so friendly. Valet staff was amazing. Room was clean, but there is some show of wear and age in the room.
- 3/5
The rooms were noisy from outside noise. Even on the 8th floor I felt I could hear everything outside. The hallway was pretty quiet. The ac was very noisy making loud pop and cracking noises followed by several propeller engine sounds. The bed for me was terrible I actually ended up sleeping at the foot of the bed 2 of 3 nights.

Location We did not get the room we reserved. We reserved a King room with sofa and bathroom that had disability accessible shower. We were given a room with a “Murphy bed” which I a sofa that folds down into a bed. We were told “there are no more rooms, sorry!” I was unable to sleep in the bed correctly due to the sofa arms were at the side of the bed and being disabled I could not get in and out of bed. I had to sleep backwards with my head at the foot of bed. I was not able to shower. It was so unprofessional.

Very clean, great bar and restaurant and lobby. No long elevator lines. City view rooms a little noisy from traffic. Bring earplugs
- 5/5
Beautiful clean room. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
It was pretty clean and close to the Campus!
- 2/5
No breakfast. Rude staff on coffee bar. Coffee bar needed a clean and they needed to work out how queues work. Staff on checking in and out both surly and unhelpful, female at start was just plain rude.
- 4/5
Bathroom’s light was not working. Internet was not good I could not conect my Firestick. I asked the front desk they did not do anything. Parking is very expensive
- 5/5
This location was very convenient to downtown and was very pretty. It was well-maintained and amenities were plentiful. Parking was expensive and separate, although I'm sure it was par for downtown. Our stay for a conference was very enjoyable.
- 5/5
Great service and close to restaurants and entertainment venues. Great stay, I would do it again
- 1/5
Close to everything

We did not eat breakfast. The bar had great drinks, the hamburgers were perfect, the chicken wings were very good
- 5/5
Location and staff
- 5/5
The breakfast buffet was great and the Bar was fantastic!
- 4/5
I will never understand a hotel such as Arriot that doesn’t give you a bottle of water. When you pay $400 per night, 1 plastic bottle of water is a must.
- 4/5
On site restaurant and bar is convenient too bad there isn’t a pool.
- 3/5
Didn’t use
- 2/5
Had to wait while person finished their text on phone before being greeted. Was told I could park my own car but couldn’t. Room was at end of building. Could hear every car and emergency sirens that passed by
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay
- 4/5
The valet service was extremely fast and convenient. There are areas of improvement with room service. We placed an order for breakfast at 7 AM. Had to call twice about it and it didn’t arrive until 9 AM. The breakfast arrived cold and we were not provided with utensils for an omelette and french toast. I had to call the front desk to ask for utensils. Both mornings of our stay that we ordered room service the food was delivered in a cardboard box and was cold. Other than the room service, we were pleased with the hotel and would book here again.
- 4/5
This is a wonderful hotel to stay in and the location is perfect if you need to be near UT campus. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 10 mile radius. That helps if you don’t want to deal with traffic. Everyone there is so kind and welcoming. The only downside is the noise of the traffic. It is located on a main road. Besides that, we loved our stay.
- 4/5
Food was great, some bartenders not real friendly, bar area around stools very dirty at floors and on bar around bar area.
- 2/5
Valet parking only 👎💩
- 4/5
Wish there was a pool! Staff was lovely, valet parking was required, and everything downtown was walkable.
- 4/5
Room was great. Location near busy roads was a problem with traffic noise. Motorcycle racing till 11PM. Could not change room but was offered earplugs. I’m assuming the noise on street side rooms is a common problem. That is my only complaint.
- 4/5
The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was super easy. Loved that I could check out on their app! The only reason I gave 4/5 stars were because the beds and pillows kind of sucked. It was hard to get comfortable
- 5/5
The staff was courteous and efficient. The rooms was very clean and well appointed. The property was the ideal location for our visits to downtown Knoxville.
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Great amenities.
- 5/5
Highly recommended
- 2/5
Then there was a chirping sound all night in the room. Altogther very disappointing for a Marriott property.
- 3/5
2 events happening in town. Room wasnt ready due to the overwhelming amount of people checking in. Check out staff was great. Check in folks not so much.
- 2/5
Shower leaked so that was noisy, room and hotel seemed like they needed an update.
- 4/5
nice location downtown friendly staff
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Convenient to shopping, restaurants downtown. Very clean. Stag were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
It was clean and the location was perfect
- 5/5
Yes, everything is perfect about this hotel - location, staff and amenities
- 4/5
Good stuff Took care of me when I had a dirty iron
- 5/5
Nice place and confortable Rooms.
- 5/5
It was a great stay.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 4/5
Everything was nice in the hotel. All amenities
- 5/5
It's in a nice location and great room. It felt upscale. Only problem I had with the place is the paid parking, which was a valet service costing $38.
- 5/5
Room was very clean, services was amazing, felt very welcomed and was very well taken cared of. Would definitely recommend staying if your visiting the Knoxville area.
- 5/5
My room was spotless and the staff was wonderful.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
all great! great reception and bedroom.
- 3/5
It was nothing special. Had to over pay for a room and nothing was included. Coffee? Extra. Breakfast? Extra. Grab and go? Extra from their "store". Also had to pay to park on the property. Very disappointed 😞
- 5/5
The hotel is phenomenal! Beautifully decorated for Christmas, fantastic service, super helpful and friendly staff, clean, comfy rooms with a great view of the city!
- 4/5
Never knew about any breakfast? Tried to find out about it. No information was posted anywhere?
- 4/5
The room was nice, good location. The parking was absurdly expensive.
- 4/5
Lobby is beautiful, beds are awesome but rooms are small. Staff was excellent. I will say I was traveling with a service dog. I called in advance to make sure all ok. Upon check in I was told all ok with my service dog and no extra fees. However upon check out I was charged an extra $179.00. When I asked why I was told, “sometimes the pet fee is automatic. “ They refunded the amount but had I not checked I would have been charged.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, nice bar, the whole place is clean and decorated nicely.
- 1/5
I did not get to stay there and i had still had to pay for it.
- 4/5
Staff is great, food delish and great local. The valets are the worse though. No welcome or anything.
- 5/5
Very nice staff. The place is very clean and looks modern. Overall an enjoyable experience.
- 5/5
They have a complimentary shuttle that will shuttle you in a 3 mile radius. It was excellent!
- 4/5
Front desk were extremely nice . My only complaint is the bed. It was sinking in and way too soft for my son and I. Other than that , the room was clean and the view was nice .
- 3/5
The breakfast was delicious and a good waitress. The bartender was kind. The room had ladybugs, and I had some type of bug to fall out of my towel. I was dissatisfied with one conciergerie due to the lack of help with the getting a ride. We waited an hour due lack of directions. Yes, we had our request, but another guest was told to wait outside, we were told to wait inside. The driver took guest that were waiting after us first. Lastly, we had a do not disturb sign on our door, yet attendee came in while we were in the room. When they cleaned the day before they left the bathroom with trash. I was displeased with this visit.
- 5/5
Love the room layout. Very clean and spacious. The room didn't feel or smell stuffy; in fact, it seems like this hotel has a much better air filtration/flow than any other hotel we've stayed in.
- 5/5
everyone was nice and understanding
- 4/5
Comfortable room, noise machine was a nice addition.
- 4/5
Good location.
- 5/5
Very nice first impression
- 5/5
Restaurant was good
- 3/5
Well, let’s say through Expedia. It says that there is a swimming pool so our daughter was extremely excited however we were told that the swimming pool was turned into suites a while ago and that has not been updated. Then we were on the third floor and all we heard were sirens all night long on Friday night. It was crazy and I got absolutely no sleep so disappointed in those two areas.
- 4/5
The road noise was very noticeable at night. Hard to sleep
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay!
- 3/5
Hotel room had an issue with blind being broken which let light in. The street noise was very loud while trying to sleep. Not the hotel’s fault but someone left a large dog unattended on our floor and loud barking was awful.
- 5/5
Nice stay
- 5/5
Great location very walkable
- 5/5
The beds were comfortable. The blackout curtains were amazing. The room was nice but it was a little loud with hearing noises from neighboring rooms. The work out area was very well equipped and clean.
- 5/5
Met all of my need. Courteous staff
- 5/5
Overall very clean, bright, spacious full service hotel
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was centrally located and very nice!
- 4/5
Traffic noise was more than i expected
- 5/5
Excellent hotel walkable to all of downtown Knoxville and UTK
- 5/5
Everyone at the property was very helpful. We were able to check in early, and the hotel was within walking distance of the event we were attending.
- 5/5
Outstanding facility and location
- 3/5
Not our best experience staying with Marriott.
- 5/5
Beautiful rooms and lobby! Very walkable and great for game day!
- 5/5
Love this property, and the staff here is extremely helpful and accommodating! Great downtown spot!
- 1/5
Horrible entry andnexit.
- 5/5
Much traffic noise.
- 5/5
Hotel was clean and very nice. I loved the coffee shop and the staff was very helpful
- 5/5
Very comfortable. Not much to see in the area as it’s a business district but the hotel had whatever you needed.
- 4/5
Nice place but overpriced I thought
- 5/5
I specifically was looking for a hotel without carpet because hotel carpet is disgusting. Very nice update room. Very clean bathroom and loved the provided shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Very luxurious.
- 5/5
The staff were so kind and helpful. Offering assistance as soon as they saw a person. So professional and kind.
- 2/5
Poor cleaning Poor service for in room breakfast Over all not good
- 4/5
The staff were very nice and the hotel appeared clean but the hallways to the rooms smelled. The beds were not very comfortable and the pillows were even worse. The room we were in was city side and the noise was very loud. You can hear the cars all day and night.
- 4/5
Our bathroom sink was draining very slowly so I popped the top off the drain and it was disgusting and I pulled so much hair out of it and it still wouldn’t drain. I told the front desk and they did take money off of the room.
- 5/5
From the moment we arrived, the valet team was exceptional. The front desk staff continued to impress with their genuine warmth, and the restaurant service was absolutely top-notch. Every team member, at every level, provided truly outstanding customer service.
- 5/5
Had a great experience, the room was awesome and clean and the staff was very friendly.
- 1/5
Run! This property is not good! Small beds dirty bathroom and NO HOT WAtER with no help
- 5/5
It was convenient and nice. The restaurant was good as well. Parking was expensive.
- 5/5
Very convenient location off the highway
- 5/5
Great experience
- 1/5
No complimentary water in the room. For a 4 star hotel, very unacceptable and unheard of. Bathroom is very small and smells.
- 1/5
So I came to stay at the Marriott was a day late so they gave my reservation away, then charge me again, so I got double charged to stay at the hotel. Not only that my room was never cleaned the entire time that I was there when I would call for extra cleaning or to get extra towels they never came. My experience. Here was horrible. I would not recommend anybody staying at this Marriott.
- 5/5
It was a great place to stay while in Knoxville! The staff were so helpful and professional.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
Was here for graduation as well as a stop on our trip north for the summer. Very comfortable, staff was excellent and efficient. Our 2 dogs were very welcomed.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
The room was very fresh and clean.
- 5/5
Please clean the exhaust fan in the shower/ tub area. It's very dirty.
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Clean, good cust service and perfect location
- 5/5
Was in town strictly for business and didn’t have time to explore much of the hotel, such as a pool, gym or restaurant. I can only speak to the room, which was very nice, with a comfortable bed, great pillows, and a great shower with quality linens. The valet guys were top notch as well.
- 5/5
Paid parking was my only complaint
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Perfect except google map takes you around the corner
- 3/5
My room was facing the highway and traffic noise was very loud all night long even on Sunday night. The window shades were broken, the shelf in the shower was broken, the sink drain was clogged. They replaced my towels despite a sign that said they would only replaced what was on the floor and I left them hanging.
- 4/5
We came in to tour the college. Everyone was very friendly at the front desk. But we never got housekeeping done to our room. I had to call two times Finally at7:00 pm Sunday night someone brought a couple of towels. Our room when we got there was clean. But it is a noisy hotel.
- 5/5
Nice area. Well keep.
- 4/5
Hotel was very nice, especially for the price. Service was excellent all around. Only negative- my room faced the main road that comes right off the highway and it was very loud.
- 5/5
It didn't bother me, but if noises and sirens bother you, this is not the place to stay. My room was fantastic, clean, and bed was comfy. It however, was very loud from the road noise. Would stay here again!
- 5/5
The staff were really nice and accommodating. The facility was clean and inviting. It was a shirt easy walk to anywhere you needed to go. I highly recommend this hotel!
- 3/5
need to be turned on. Requested wake up call not performed.. Expensive food..
- 5/5
Overall great experience
- 5/5
Excellent stay
- 5/5
Convenient downtown location adjacent to the Worlds Fair Exhibition center. Lots of great restaurants close to hotel and even restaurant in hotel was quite good
- 5/5
Went there for a dog show. Was very nice
- 5/5
Totally satisfied
- 5/5
Great location.
- 5/5
Very clean, exceptional location! Lots to do within a walkable distance.
- 5/5
The staff were pleasant; even at 1130pm when we finally arrived and checked in. They were also in the am helpful with recommendations for a fun local breakfast spot @ Aretha Frankenstein’s
- 5/5
We went for a football Game Day. The location was fantastic!! Close to the school and stadium and very close to great restaurants and shops. The staff was great!
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
Everything
- 5/5
Great place to stay if going to game or just downtown.
- 5/5
We would have liked self-parking - the valet parking was $35 per day and there were no other options
- 5/5
Great hotel !!
- 4/5
Biggest issue is driving up it’s basically valet parking only or they make it that way. No place to park to check in. Valet is slow and blocking so vehicles are backed up into road waiting. Nice helpful reception
- 3/5
The parking is a nightmare they only valet. The walls are paper thin and so is the ceiling you can hear neighbors and people above clearly. The market exchange art installation was so cool. But the restaurant for breakfast was trash. They should just have free breakfast. Because the option that I paid for was wrong and no good.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 3/5
Great service at the front desk. Delicious food and great service in the restaurant. Valet is super easy. Rooms are very noisy. You hear everything from the room next door and from the street. Request a room facing the park. Confirm that the accessible rooms are accessible. We requested one for my mom and she had a bathtub in hers when we were told they all how showers.
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful and behind it was the World Fair Park. We were on the 8th floor with a window view and you could all the beautiful autumn colors and surrounding town. The staff was friendly and very helpful! Valet was easy, didn’t have to wait because you can text them when you’re headed down. My favorite part?! DEFINITELY the black car free transportation! Simon was awesome and we could call him to have him pick us up after taking us somewhere (within 3 miles). We went to a concert at the Thompson-Boling Food City Center and after the concert, we just missed the ride cutoff request time but we walked about 17 minutes through the UT campus and World Fair Park and it was an easy walk. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.
- 5/5
Great vibe!
- 5/5
Na
- 5/5
Friendly, clean, and felt safe.
- 4/5
Th hotel is new and very clean and beautiful. It is also located within walking distance to Market Square and a bunch of other attractions, and is centrally located within the city. As with some of the other reviews, the noise from the traffic outside was pretty bad, even on the 10th floor. I realized that the odd-numbered rooms face the traffic, and the even-numbered rooms face an empty green space, so I suspect that the even-numbered rooms are much quieter. I had an odd-numbered room on the 10th floor, and it was really pretty noisy - especially if a fire truck decided to lean one their horn at two in the morning. Otherwise it was great, and I would recommend it.
- 4/5
Convenient to Worlds Fair Park, beer festival
- 3/5
SUPER loud room sounded like we were sleeping on highway
- 5/5
One of the nicest Marriott’s I have stayed in. Top notch staff ….Ty Steve for all you help and Nina what a lovely hostess. Both went above and beyond. I will be back. See ya’ll graduation weekend 😊
- 5/5
It was a great location, and the front desk agents were beneficial and friendly, but on the last day, housekeeping didn't lay the bed well. overall, it was a great experience.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect from the hotel room to the staff
- 2/5
Hotel is overpriced. Price is high, conditions are very average.
- 5/5
Above average rooms and an overall stylish hotel. Across the street from convention center which was great for our event
- 5/5
Amazing!!
- 5/5
Miscommunication about parking. If you have a small U-Haul they won’t let you park there. It worked out though. Also, they put a $100 hold, not $50 like we were told. Again, not a huge deal for us but I’m sure some might struggle.
- 3/5
I arrived on a late flight and arrived just after midnight. Was not received very well and found the front desk staff very uncommitted and not very engaging. Definately not helpful. This was not just when I arrived but through our the stay. I found this very surprising due 1) Always love Marriott and 2) Always love Tennessee hospitality, both of which were lacking. This is a comment about the front desk staff only.
- 5/5
Very freshly renovated in 2021 under new ownership by Marriott and super clean, modern rooms with extremely comfortable beds, welcoming and friendly staff, ideal location between shopping/restaurants and UT campus and nearby Convention Center, and bonus of free parking after 6 pm Friday all weekend at Locust Street Garage just a block away
- 4/5
Nice clean and easy access
- 2/5
Air conditioning was frozen. No parking except the $35 Val Food menu terrible prices way too high. $ 22 for a hamburger
- 5/5
I love this hotel! Well worth the money. I save up to stay here every year.
- 5/5
Southern hospitality at its best. Very clean and great location. Walkable to downtown
- 5/5
It was great and clean
- 5/5
It is good.
- 2/5
I went to check out and NO ONE asked about how our stay was. It was just a quick receipt and on my way. Very disappointed with the staff of this hotel. Also, it is VALET ONLY. So an extra $35 a night no matter what. The valet service was HORRENDOUS. They don’t load your luggage onto a luggage carrier for you. They aren’t friendly at all. Very short with people. For $35 a night, they literally don’t do anything but park your car. That’s it. The rate for this ‘4 star hotel’ looks great, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The area isn’t the greatest. Very convenient being off of I-75. But it is directly beside a homeless shelter. Saw lots of people sleeping on the side of the street while walking back from dinner on University of Tennessee campus.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. It’s a convenient location however the location is next to Henley St which is incredibly noisy. If you book there make sure that you specify that you don’t want a room facing the street.

A/C continually malfunctioned and TV was slow and volume did not function. Too many technical issues. Will not stay at this property again.

It was a great hotel, the concerns we had earlier about it being to loud or not clean like the previous reviews had stated. We will be staying again.

Stylish, pet-friendly hotel with very good breakfast selection close to the park in Downtown Knoxville. The rooms are average size but two king beds is a plus. A bit noisy (traffic) but the biggest issue is no alternative to valet parking, especially since the parking is on the same property, less than 100 yards away. Just a big inconvenience and needless expense.

Booking hotels via Expedia consistently gets you the worst rooms in hotels. The room I booked on Expedia mentioned Mountain View’s but I was initially assigned a dank dark room looking over the lobby that wreaked of BO and curry.

The hotel and staff were very nice. Building seemed updated, well maintained and in a good downtown location for visiting the city and/or university. Two concerns: The floor was dirty and there was somebody's leftover food in the fridge, which made me question how well the room is cleaned. That's just what I found; but what didn't I see? Also, the lack of any self-park option and the resulting requirement to valet is annoying on two fronts: First, anytime you want to go out you have to wait for the valet to retrieve your car. Valet parking is a great option, but it should be an option and not a requirement. Second, the advertised room rate seems understated if you are required to pay $35 to park your car overnight. I guess they are targeting air travelers who use rideshare and don't need to park?
