Holiday Inn La Mirada – Buena Park by IHG

First off staff is friendly and kind! It’s an old hotel. Lobby area is fine but that’s where it ends. Hallways stink and to make it worse they spray harsh chemicals to kill the smell but that makes it worse. Room is super outdated and needs deep cleaning and or remodeling, Carpet has heavy smell that makes room smell bad. Windows is super dirty to the point you hesitate to open to let fresh air in and had spider web all around. Super outdated bathroom. Conclusion, rate seems attractive but not worth!

BE ADVISED YOU HAVE TO PAY $13.00 A DAY FOR PARKING!! WILL NOT STAY AT A HOLIDAY INN ANYMORE. SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY EXTRA TO PARK IN THEIR PARKING LOT.

There was a chair in the room that I left a shirt on the edge and it was so dirty it marked up my shirt.

We have stayed at this specific location several times now due to the way they have treated us in the past it’s always an easy check in and check out. This time around maybe given the fact that there was a lot going on in garden grove due to the chemical spill or something…. But the staff prior to checking in wasn’t very friendly nor helpful. We got to Los Angeles earlier than expected and my husband went in to check to see if we could check in a little earlier.. and the gentlemen who “helped” my husband wasn’t helpful at all. He didn’t ask for our reservation info, or our name… nothing. He didn’t even type anything on the computer and quickly gave my husband a “no, sorry… come back at 3pm” I then called a little later on to see if maybe I’d have luck & the women on the phone was friendly at first and then gave me attitude once she heard that I was simply asking to see if maybe we could check in a little earlier. So for the next time I’m re thinking staying at this location. we’ve never had any issues here… it was always a wonderful experience. Up until this weekend. I know people are busy and holiday weekends are a lot… but good customer service goes a long way.

My bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly , the tub had someone else’s hair in it when I checked in. Had to pay additional to park in a public space and my bathroom wasn’t cleaned

Wow! We were evacuated last minute because of the chemical spill in Garden Grove, we were not expecting much but I am so glad we stayed here. This Holiday Inn is beautiful! Very nice, clean environment. Pool area was nice, they even have a sauna. Peet's Coffee, we had our breakfast here, coffee and sandwich and burrito... all very good. Nice big restaurant that we looked at, but just went with the breakfast sandwich. The room was very large, looked very nice and clean. Overall, very nice experience. Nothing. We were even given a late checkout and everything was lovely.

I am very thankful to the hotel and the staff. We’re staying because of the current incident, chemical spill in GG. They are accommodating our needs if possible and very very nice and willing to help us with this difficult situations. Thank you again!

Delicious! Nice atmosphere in the (huge) breakfast room with dark wood and in-ceiling lighting. Good food and very good service. Ability to order off the menu or buffet. The front-desk service was fantastic - Sylvia was warm and friendly, while being super-efficient. Truly exceptional service. The maid staff in the hallway was friendly; the wait staff at breakfast equally so. It was a great experience - I'd definitely stay there again. The motion-detecting sensor in the bathroom was FAR too bright for a middle-of-the-night bathroom run, and I'd recommend an under the cabinet nightlight instead.

The staff is nice and accommodating. They location close to the freeway but not noisy. The bathroom looked clean but had a sewer smell, like when to go on a cruise.

I'm giving this hotel a poor review as we had a group off people stay here and everyone that stayed had ther credit card compromised. 4 rooms 4 cards all compromised. I'm not sure if they had a cad scanner behind the counter but only the cards used at the hotel for the deposit were compromised. This is disappointing as the hotel itself was decent.

I reserved an accessible room because I was traveling with my disabled mother and one was not available. Very disappointed with that.

Too much noise, couldn’t sleep, it said breakfast included, cost 27$ for breakfast buffet and 13$ a day for parking, people walking up and down the hallway various times of the night being loud

Close to where I needed to go I got a handicapped room, the beds where really low, not good for someone with knee issues, the bathroom was low too

Rooms were clean and spacious. The Staff is very friendly and courteous. There is a PEET’S coffee and a restaurant in the hotel. There is no free breakfast or parking. Breakfast is at the hotel restaurant or on your own. Parking is $13/night. We didn’t get to see the pool but there is one. Oh wait, the TV is super old so don’t expect any streaming services. Other than that, it was nice.

It was clean in the bathroom but there was hair in the bathtub already when I first got there on the wall of the shower that for sure did not belong to us so that was unpleasant. The noise levels outside of the room could have been quieter but that’s not necessarily the hotel’s fault.

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, I called the hotel to inform them that I would be arriving late on the 27th, between 8:00 and 9:00 PM. They said no problems. When I arrived at 8:00 PM, I had to wait for about half 1/2 hour for them to find me a room. The next morning at 8:00 AM, they called me to say there was a leak next door and they would have to move me to another room. I packed, and they helped me with my luggage to the lobby. It was ok because I was waiting for my sister to go visit family. When she arrived, the room was not ready, so she left her luggage in the car, and we went on with our plans. When we returned in the afternoon, we still had to wait about an hour for the new room. The new room was large with a king-size bed, and the other bed was a sofa bed. Not the comfort expected. Yes, they kept apologizing. They gave us free breakfast. I think what happen is a large group came and they moved me to accommodate this large group in the same area.

Good service and attitude

We decided to try again and hope things were better. The bathrooms have mold in them and tubs don’t always work. The pool is terribly dirty and furniture is broken. The hotel is very noisy and the room walls are so thin. We shared about several items needing repair and they were not fixed. Definitely not worth the money. Sadly we will not stay here again or recommend this to anyone. Dirty rooms!

My first time staying at a Holiday Inn and the staff were was the best part of experience. They were very friendly and helpful, always greeted us when we walked by the front desk as well. The room was spacious and clean. Parking is very easy and there is food options in the area.

Staff member make me to make another reservation because thay said that te reservation need to be on the 10 of October even if the 10 th already pass my reservation was on the 11 th make me paid 10th and 11 th.

The rooms are clean but can be cleaner . The staff is excellent, I love this place because of the friendly staff. The outdoor pool area my boys and I cannot get enough of . It is always clean and ready to dry? The towels are always nice and fluffy .

Everyone was so helpful and kind. I needed help with my duaghter's bags that were headed to Biola, we had help with a cart to get the stuff from our car to our room, for safe keeping overnight! Also, everyone was friendly when we were coming and going! I felt like I was staying with friends.

Room was clean and comfortable. Only recommend I have is that it would be nice not to have a motion activated bathroom light. For the middle of the night trips to the toilet, it’s no fun to be blinded with light.

Staff was swift and polite. The other guests were ghetto and dirty leaving trash in the pool. The room next to us had a poor little kid/toddler crying all night. Walls very thin. Rooms were super tiny and placement of the furniture was a disaster. The beds squeezed. The water did not drain properly in the shower. Everything is very outdated and not well maintained. There is no way this place is an 8* .

We can for our 50th class reunion. The function was great! The room and amenities ok. They could have more plastic and paper cups available in the room. Towels are average at best. But the bed was very comfortable. The pool towels are small, I'm sure that's because they do not want them stolen. It was a convenient place to stay.

I enjoyed our stay however, we did see a dead cockroach in the hall and there was an elevator that did not work the entire stay. I would also like to see them at least offer complimentary coffee downstairs. The location was convenient and had ample parking. There were several places close to grab a late night bite and the room itself was clean. I mistakenly booked an accessible room and that was my fault, but I do not like the beds in accessible rooms. The staff was friendly and quick to provide more coffee pods and toilet paper as I usually do not have room service go in during my stay

I like the fact that for being a big hotel.It is very quiet..... but I don't like the fact that being a big hotel.The amenities are not available 24/7 such as the swimming pool, jacuzzi, laundry etc..... the available restaurant is limited to its guests..... only open for breakfast until ten and then open for dinner.....

The staff at check in was kind and helpful. The bathroom showers and sinks were not draining properly. We were unable to take a clean shower because the tub water drained slowly and the tub was not clean. I called front desk for assistance and was told someone would come up to check it out. After waiting over a hour no one showed. I called back and was told the maintenance staff was gone for the day. The check out staff were not accommodating and did not seemed to be concerned about the issue.

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. Only some of the outlets worked, the toilet wouldn’t flush properly and made loud noises throughout the night. The fan in the restroom didn’t work. There was cockroach running on the counter which ran and later found again and tossed it away. The phone wouldn’t dial down to the lobby had to go down and ask what number to press to call the lobby there was no directory in the room. The phone buttons didn’t work to dial the lobby. I had to request towels and to get my room cleaned because no one ever came the first night. Overall it was a disappointment of a stay. I’ve always stayed at Holiday inns and this was my first poor experience. I will take them off the list from now on. Not clean either I wiped down the counters after that roach was running and it was disgustingly dirty. Won’t be using Holiday inns any longer.

When did they start charging to park here and why? I made my disapproval know to the person checking me in at the front desk and I got no reaction, not even an apology. The plumbing was backed up in the shower/tube. I showered in my own filth. Over the years I’ve stayed here and I can remember ever being this disappointed.

Atmosphere is great, closeby to many shopping centers and all. It's about a good 30-35 minutes away from LAX. Staff is great... always got greeted. Definitely would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Paid for two queen bed premier room. My 1st room had a huge booger hanging on the ceiling of one of the bed. just how people? how gross can people be ? found fried chicken crumbs and a cap for a bottle went downstairs told the manager she gave me a new room went to that room and guess what I found another booger on the wall between the two beds it’s not like I went searching for boogers they were big and very noticeable. I Called the front desk manager gave me a different room which thankfully did not have any boogers hanging but only had a qtip on the bathroom floor this time I wasn’t going to complain again I don’t have time to go to another room we were here for a funeral everything is already hard enough this will be my last time ever staying at this place and will not recommend this place at all. Oh and fyi trash cans don’t have bags I told them and they knew which was kind of weird fyi they need new housekeepers the manager was nice enough to move us to other rooms but overall I will never stay here again.

Fantastic location to attend the La Mirada Center for the Performing Arts. The attached restaurant / pub has superb food.

I’ve stayed at this property before. Clearly since I came back, I didn’t mind my initial stay. Unfortunately this time around, things were different and fell way below par. Everything felt dirty, there was even a huge puke pile in the elevator that wasn’t cleaned up for about 12 hours, the elevators were INSANELY SLOW (I’m talking 10 minutes of waiting) and the room I had just felt dingy. It was also INSANELY noisy and the walls are PAPER thin. I definitely won’t stay here again.

Stayed here for one night because I was attending a concert at The Roxy Theater, the bed was super comfortable but overall the quality of the room was poor, there was hair stuck to the ceiling, the sink didn’t drain and at one point the toilet wouldn’t flush. The remote batteries also didn’t work and the floor was all stuffed up. The elevator also took a long time to come and one of the bays was out of order. I did really love the location and the fact that there is a Pete’s coffee right downstairs. Staff was friendly but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Windows are single pane and poorly sealed and the highway right next to the hotel is ridiculously loud ALL NIGHT. Three days with poor sleep at best and that’s not just me, the other three coworkers in their own rooms said the exact same thing. Get better windows!

We had a terrrible stay here with our kids.! For starters we check in and I was greeted nicely everything was quick but when I got my kids out and all our luggage and make our way to the elevators we are then told all three elevators are broken and we need to access the emergency stairwell to go to our room. So now my husband and I have to carry 5 suitcases and 3 kids up and down the stairs and not indoor stairs we had to go outside by the pool area to the stairwell.!!! It was the absolute worst nightmare that could happen to us!!! My kids are crying, we are trying to go up the stairs with all the line of people following behind us.! When I checked in I should’ve been informed that they were down so that my husband and I could have planned out how to carry the kids and stuff upstairs instead of finding out the way we did. And then we get to the room only to find mold in the showers !!! It was disgusting. Please save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else.

Didn’t received breakfast coupons from 29 December to 31 December stay. Even after calling to ur customer service not received anything. This disappointed me.

The hotel itself is an ok property since it’s not a new new building. However, the service and staff is excellent. Location is convenient for access the surrounding area. The first night was not so good because the noise since it was on the 3rd floor and the dumpster station was right below. People were pulling trash at late night and early morning, like 5 am, which woke up both me and my kids. The sound proof is kind poor because we could hear people upstairs walking. However, the staff, Brian and Maria, kept checking on me. When I told them about the noise, they immediately offered change of the rooms and breakfast vouchers for the inconveniences. The second night, Tony helped us changed the rooms to the 6th floor. It helped a lot. Everyone had a good night sleep. Not to mention, breakfast vouchers were a plus. All staff are very friendly and warming. I love everyone’s smile. Keep it up! It doesn’t come easy to keep your smile on all day. I will definitely come back in the future for our next family trip in the area.

I recently stayed at the La Mirada Holiday Inn and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, which made for a comfortable stay. The staff was incredibly friendly and always ready to assist with a smile. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others looking for a pleasant and hassle-free stay near all the local attractions.

We loved everything about this place, the friendliness of all employees ❤️, the service, and not to mention the breakfast and all the people working there were simply amazing and most friendly. Exelente service.

The water in the bathroom in our room smelled like a sewer and we had to brush our teeth with Bottled water. Terrible! One of the queen beds had a huge dip/hole in the mattress. Not Comfortable!

This was a nice hotel. Bed was comfortable, clean rooms, great hotel restaurant and bar. Tony at the front desk was great and so was the bartender, Jamie. Great stay! Will definitely stay here again when in the area.

One thing I didn’t see mentioned in reviews was the blackout blinds. They are in trams so it stays dark!!! The staff made the hotel extraordinary! Will stay here again

The elevator doesn't like

The bathroom was not clean. The tub had mold and was pealing in some areas

We stay here because of its location to relatives and it’s always a very reliable hotel. Clean, nice amenities and the staff is friendly.

Also as a business traveler that relies on internet connectivity… the wifi provided was the worst wifi I have ever experienced. It was slow, low signal, and would randomly drop at the worst times. This made it difficult to even use and I had better luck using my phones wifi hotspot. I couldn’t stay here again just for this detail alone. That said the beds were super comfy.

Great place!

I was there for 6 days. Front desk and diner host were very friendly and accommodating. Gabriela in the coffe shop learned my favorite dink by my second day. She was professional, friendly and served my drink with a smile every morning. A great asset to your lobby for early risers. I recommend this place.
