Casa Laguna is a charming boutique hotel with beautiful grounds and a friendly, accommodating staff. Guests frequently mention the delicious breakfast and convenient trolley stop location. However, some guests find the rooms small and mention issues with highway noise and parking.

The hotel grounds are charming and well-maintained, with a beautiful heated outdoor pool that was perfect for our little one to splash around. The staff was friendly and helpful from check-in (smooth at 3pm) to checkout. We especially appreciated the self-service ice machine (great for keeping baby pouches cold) and the beach towels they provide for guests. Location is fantastic — a short, easy walk down to Victoria Beach made it simple to enjoy the sand and tide pools with our son. Everything felt relaxed, intimate, and genuinely family-friendly without losing that boutique charm. If you're looking for a peaceful, scenic spot in Laguna Beach with excellent service and beautiful views, Casa Laguna is the place. We’ll definitely be back on our next California trip. Highly recommend!

Charming boutique hotel with Spanish style just south of Laguna. Loved the facilities and friendly staff! Enjoyed pool area with Pacific views. Delicious breakfast, welcome drink, and nightly chocolate chip cookies.

I have stayed at some very nice places in the Southern California area and this one hit the top of the list very quickly. I almost don’t want to tell too many people about it because I want it to be our place to escape from the rest of the world. Our suite was very nice and charming. The staff were so kind and personable. And the area is easy to navigate, especially with the FREE trolley service that takes you up and down the coastal highway. It’s also about a 40ish minute drive to Disney, if you’re looking for a great place to stay on the coast while enjoying the magic of Disney.

We stayed for a night and it was pleasant. Didn’t use the pool or amenities so I can’t opine. The parking was tight but it was an insignificant problem. I left my medicine there but the staff couldn’t find it when I called and emailed them the same day.

I keep asking my husband when we can go back!

The Hotel charges a $40 per day Resort Fee , plus a tax on that fee as well. The Fee is for parking at the hotel, breakfast , coffee and cookies. As for the parking , I have a SUV so there is no way to fit into the little parking covered spots on the property and the 4 other spots were always taken or cars parked to close , you would not be able to back up . We did not eat breakfast and my husband got coffee 2 times out of the 3 nights/ days we stayed. We were sitting in the courtyard on Saturday afternoon , it was rainy and nobody came out to greet us to see if we needed a drink or food - I went into the office area and asked if we could get some cookies. A gentlemen said we do put the cookies out at 6:30 , it was 4 pm at this time. My husband and I had dinner reservations at 7 pm. We did not want cookies before we are leaving for dinner. There were no other guests out in the terrace or around . I think they could of made 2 cookies in the toaster oven for your guest that is asking- but no that did not happen. We did stay here last year at the same time and we had fabulous service, it was not as busy and the staff seemed a bit more attentive and accommodating then the staff we had during our stay.

Extremely well kept boutique hotel. Uniquely set in the hillside with a sparkling pool and loungers on several levels with sweeping views of the sea. Friendly and welcoming staff. Citrus infused water at the pool and sunscreen provided. Lunch available by the pool. Small spa but beautifully appointed and extremely professional service. Welcome drink and cookies at 5pm daily. Breakfast very good, freshly made with local papers provided. Trolley bus stop right outside but walkable to town if you like to walk. Parking included in resort fee. We had a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. Great value for money.

This has to be the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in in the world! Incredible service from start to finish. They made my birthday extremely special. Amazing place to relax, rejuvenate and visit Laguna Beach. Although it’s on the PCH, once inside its historic grounds, you will be transported to another place. . Many delightful corners to enjoy the California sunsets and beautiful weather. The amenities, food on site and staff are the icing on top! This boutique hotel does not disappoint! A short walk under the PCH to a hidden beach.

A charming small, very clean hotel with beautifully landscaped grounds, a heated pool, and lovely Spanish-style architecture. The rooms have artistic touches that reflect the area’s creative history — the property apparently once housed art studios, and even after renovation it still feels warm and unique. Our room had a direct view of the ocean. The staff (especially Kent) were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was delicious and included, with plenty of fresh fruit. A relaxing place to stay with lots of character — I’d happily return.

The property is so cute with so much character. We loved all the hangout spaces throughout, including breakfast area, pool, little tower etc. with amazing views of the ocean and Catalina at sunset throughout. Very close to Victoria beach, and the hotel provides everything you need for a day at the beach if you don’t have everything with you (large beach bag in rooms, beach chairs if needed). And the staff were very sweet! The only minor recommendation is that the AC/heating units could use an update, room was a tiny bit musty. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Location is great with a nice beach a short walk from the hotel and with a convenient trolley stop outside the front door. We loved all the various sitting areas on the property. When we arrived we discovered the hotel was on the wrong side of the road while the photos made it appear it was above the beach. We booked a room with ocean views. Kent kept telling us how fabulous the views were. The room was tiny. You could hardly get around the queen sized bed. No views. Aha. Step outside onto your own private balcony. There were tiny glimpses of water amongst trees and shrubs. The place smelt of cigarette smoke. We drove over 2 hours in traffic for this horrible experience. The photos are deceptive and misleading. We said we couldn’t possibly stay in what was less than a 1 Star motel. Expedia, you must do more to ensure these shonky operators depict their stays honestly. Kent, who could sell ice to Eskimos, promised us our money back.
- 5/5
The hotel has an old world feeling and excellent staff.
- 4/5
The atmosphere was amazing and staff were top notch.
- 4/5
The hotel is beautiful and staff are very helpful. Room service is very good. They have an issue with humidity climate control (it was like 70%+ humidity in our room), so if you’re sensitive to that maybe rethink. Our room was spacious and clean but oddly didn’t have drawers for our clothes. Loved that they were dog friendly. The layout of the hotel makes it not so child friendly (tough to fit the stroller through the passage ways to rooms), but overall a very nice stay.
- 5/5
Loved the old time feel, staff was very friendly...loved all the little seating areas and the gardens, we'll definitely be back!

There are few places I’ve been that can make you feel you’ve entered a completely different time period. Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa is one of those places. The moment you enter the grounds, there is a sense of peace and tranquillity that washes over you that is somewhat inexplicable; rare. From the soft music to the foliage, every detail adds to the overall zen experience. I booked two nights for a solo bday trip. I was excited to stay as I’d read such rave reviews, and let me say pictures and words don’t do it justice. I stayed in the Deluxe Oceanview Room with a private balcony. (I sat outside enjoying the views of the ocean many times during my stay). The rooms are cute and quaint, but the overall hotel architecture and interior design make you feel as if you’ve left the country. The food is delicious and the drinks don’t miss! (Give the frittata a try at breakfast and the club sandwich a go for lunch!) Another beautiful part worth noting was the kindness of everyone who stayed at the hotel. I chatted and mingled with lovely folks from all over; most returning customers. They spoke of how much they loved it, as well. I’d also like to shout out Cody, who made my trip more than memorable. From the moment I arrived, he took wonderful care of me and even surprised me with a bottle of champagne by the pool for my birthday. Because of his kindness alone, I’d return to Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa in a heartbeat. All in all, it was a trip for the books, and I can’t wait to stay again!

Casa Laguna is a magical place. The staff is incredible and it feels like a cozy and historic family home, but elevated. The first night I was there I was feeling asthmatic and they brought me an air purifier the second I asked. Great service, right near a free trolley stop, and we loved the breakfast included too.

I love this place! They were so welcoming, kind, and accommodating after a horrible experience at a different hotel the night before. They luckily got us in so I could cancel our other reservation at the other hotel and I am so thankful! The staff here is truly amazing and the hotel and property is beautiful! Save yourself the hassle and book here because it truly is wonderful all around!

This hotel is a gorgeous retreat. The design, the service, the location, and comfort all phenomenal. I really enjoyed my stay!
- 5/5
They serve a very nice breakfast every morning. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated Troy who helped us find the perfect whale watching tour.
- 5/5
Very quaint and unique boutique style property. Beautiful flowers and plants everywhere. Some of the rooms are extraordinarily small, but still nice. The suites offer much more space, but have some considerable road noise, as they are on Pacific Coast Hwy. Lovely complimentary breakfast and excellent service! The parking is a bit of a nightmare/ challenge, especially if you have a large vehicle. Overall, I recommend it and plan to return!
- 5/5
The service, grounds, food and location were amazing. Would for sure stay here again and recommend to others.
- 5/5
Wonderful pool, breakfast is great, beds and sheets fantastic, employees are a true asset to the hotel. Parking is a bit challenging but okay. General overall stay is a great experience.
- 5/5
This hotel is a true gem with a charming European feel. The service is impeccable, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. The hotel is wonderfully dog-friendly, with beautiful views of the ocean. They have thoughtful touches like a welcome drinks, live music by the pool, and a daily breakfast that made us feel as if we were staying at an upscale Mediterranean inn. What made our stay even more special was the sense of camaraderie among the guests, everyone felt like old friends as we shared the experience together. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. We will be back!
- 5/5
The hotel is amazing. Eric, the person who checked us in was amazing! They upgraded our room without us asking. Eric brought us complimentary drinks at our room. The rooms are clean and comfortable. One of the best hotel experiences ever. Highly recommend.

Lovely property with charming touches.
- 5/5
Such a special property- magical and doesn’t really compare to anything else around. It is a little small but it’s part of the charm
- 5/5
This is a beautifully restored historic inn, formerly an artists' colony from the 1930s with a great assortment of exterior garden and pool spaces to enjoy the views to the Pacific Ocean. More significantly, the attention and service of the staff was outstanding.
- 5/5
It's absolutely gorgeous and the breakfast (free + tip) was amazing! Only downside is it isn't very walkable to the shops/restraunts down the street but Uber helps with that especially if you don't wanna drive. Overall 9/10!
- 5/5
Loved the Boutique feeling. Close to one of the main beaches. (Victoria) very well taken care of there
- 5/5
Old world charm, thoughtful staff, comfortable rooms with the little extras, comfy bedding, lovely pool area, delicious fresh and complimentary breakfast...and views of the ocean from many rooms. I have stayed here 5x and will continue to come back.
- 5/5
Staff was nothing but accommodating and helpful and polite; suites are spacious and quiet and fully stocked with extras, breakfast included (you pay a resort fee) but you can order as much as you want; pool is lovely...has all the charm!
- 5/5
Very nice.

The bed was too soft and made for a challenging sleep. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The grounds are beautiful. Unfortunately the guests were not of top quality. When they were finished with their stay at the pool they didn’t pickup their towels which was a turn-off for those of us coming to spend time pool side and the staff wasn’t there to clean up.

The property and gardens are very beautiful. The rooms are small and the photos are misleading. The location is on the highway opposite side to the beach with constant traffic noise and a challenging walk to the beach and a long walk to the downtown area. The hospitality and the experience was unfortunately disappointing. The breakfast service was great but the rest lacking and a bit chaotic -some of the staff are poorly trained and they let you know they prefer you book directly with them - if you booked on-line you are treated quite differently. The front desk service was average. Jordan Holland the General Manager finally sorted out an issue to do with my booking after being given the wrong information however in the process made me feel like I was the problem. He also promised a refund and issued a refund receipt on a mini bar charge that was from the previous guest or house staff but that still hasn’t been received - hospitality is all about - guests' experience…my experience was very disappointing!
- 5/5
Casa Laguna Hotel and Spa was perfect. I took my wife there for her birthday. She continuously complemented the classic charm and overall ambiance. She also raved about the superior staff and spa services.
- 5/5
The property is beautiful with great views of the ocean. The staff was kind and helpful.
- 5/5
This hotel and spa were top-notch in so many ways - the beauty and landscape were exceptional! Loved the breakfast courtyard experience. The service and hotel staff were excellent and always willing to assist and help. The pool area was nice and quiet, and they also provided service for drinks and food by the pool, which was a cool touch. Incredible location! A great deal of thought went into designing this hotel, so well done by the owners and leadership team. What a beautiful gem

This boutique hotel was even better than expected! Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated with the most comfy bed. This was a special girls trip for me and my daughter to celebrate her high school graduation, so I really wanted this stay to be extra memorable. Casa Laguna did not disappoint! From the friendly staff (shout out to Kent, Kelly, Aaron and Natalie), to the delicious continental breakfast and last but not least, the freshly made cookies in the evening, this is one trip we will never forget. This property looks great on the website and is rated 9+, but no staff to speak of. waited 30 minutes to check in as there was no one at the desk. Went to the lobby to get a drink and it took another 20 minutes; had only one person checking in guests and serving drinks. Not worth the money……

Nice spot. But I don’t like the resort fee (which should be included in the total amount). guess it’s a California thing. A free bottle of water would be nice for the amounts charged. Quite loud as well. I heard my neighbors on all sides. Rooms are quite small. Beds are comfortable though. The vibe is also good.

Fantastic location within Laguna Beach. Boutique hotel with sumptuous chocolate chip cookies, warm, at check-in. Mini bar in the room, fantastic escapade, a couples escape from the harsh realities of life for just a weekend. Worth every penny. Just book it ASAP.
- 2/5
I was very disappointed with our stay. I had high expectations given the glowing reviews. But at nearly $400 a night after the resort fee, this property was massively over-priced. The hotel felt like a motel that had a hipster paint job and is now charging boutique hotel prices. The underlying quality of the building and room is poor. The walls are very thin; we could hear the car traffic below and from the TV in the room next door. Most of the staff was kind. But we told a staff member that someone had eaten the almonds in our room before we arrived (odd to begin with) so that we wouldn't be charged for it and we were charged anyway. They removed the charge when I called but it was annoying to have to spend time doing that. Our booking was supposed to come with a bottle of sparkling wine, but we didn't receive it at check-in. My husband had to ask about it twice before they reluctantly gave it to us. Not worth the price.

Loved our stay at Casa Laguna. The freshly baked cookies every afternoon was a wonderful touch!

My husband & I stayed here for our anniversary. The hotel is so charming - feels like you are in Italy. It's quiet & intimate & the rooms are clean & beautiful! The staff was absolutely incredible - so nice you almost can't believe it! We didn't hang at the pool but it looked very nice. We did order an amazing cheese board, had lovely sangrias & opted for breakfast the next day on their very cute patio. Downtown area is a very short drive with many options. The beach was about a 10 minute walk that was lovely. Would highly recommend this hotel! We will be back for sure & take advantage of the spa services next time :)
- 5/5
What a gorgeous property! It was like walking into a secret garden! And the room….beautiful.
- 5/5
Amazing- peaceful, beautiful, and so refreshing. Can’t wait to come back.
- 4/5
Amazing property, awesome unique decor and plant life! All of Laguna is a tight squeeze! Parking is the worst part of this hotel, if you can, rent a small vehicle. If you are a tall person remember to duck, in certain parts of the hotel property! But again, this is an amazing property in Laguna!
- 5/5
Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very quaint and cozy. The grounds are very well kept.
- 5/5
The property is beautiful and well maintained harking back to early California of the 1930’s. Terracotta roof and tiles are adorned with bespoke ceramic tiles. Our room offered a panoramic view of the Pacific. There is poolside food service and the pool is heated to a welcoming 82 degrees. The staff was perfectly professional. They managed to be always available and attentive without ever hovering. Special thanks to Nick and Cody for their warm personalities and assistance. When I called the hotel to check on amenities (yes, there is a beach bag with towels and a beach mat in your room) I mentioned in passing that is was my husband’s and my 40th wedding anniversary. Upon check in we were greeted with a delicious bottle of champagne and a heartfelt card. We can’t wait to come back!
- 5/5
This is a wonderful hidden gem. It’s a place to relax and unwind. The staff is amazing. They cater to your needs. I’ve stayed here as a getaway and retreat. I valued the grounds and being able to find places to read a book or just enjoy the views of the ocean. I highly recommend here for couples, friends, or solo for a getaway.
- 5/5
Beautiful gardens around pool/spa/seating areas.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Lovely staff and charming Mediterranean hotel. Martyn did a good job redecorating but it could have used more of an upgrade and remodeled the rooms more. It still has its charm though. Love how there are no children allowed. Shouldn’t allow animals though
- 5/5
This hotel is so beautiful! The spa staff were exceptional, front desk can be a little slow as they're doing many things at once. But overall very beautiful would come back again
- 3/5
Our only caveat: we thought we were charging our electric car overnight and were dismayed to learn the following morning that the car hadn't charged. We drove home slowly. Otherwise, terrific

It is very cute hotel with good decoration however it’s very small and the rooms are very small and no resturant . And you can hear the highway. I didn’t like my stay really
- 4/5
Thanks to the beauty of the property (the landscaping and overall condition were excellent) and the very helpful staff, it was extremely pleasurable to simply stay on the property and chill. The massage with Pavla was excellent. But staying in is not always what one comes to a hotel to do. The limited food options on site were a bit troublesome since there are very few walkable dining options. The Laguna trolley is useful, but not always a happy experience. Getting to the beach is not pleasant; walking a steep back street to get to it is not particularly fun. That said, we do want to come back some day.

The Casa Laguna is a beautiful, small hotel, with some ocean views. The property is filled with beautiful landscaping, like staying in a botanical garden! Our room was small, but beautifully appointed, as was every place in the hotel. The breakfast offerings were delicious, and the staff was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again!

I recently stayed at Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa in Laguna Beach, California, and it was an unforgettable experience. The enchanting atmosphere and beautifully maintained grounds immediately captivated me. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring every aspect of my stay was perfect. My room was simple, comfortable, and elegant, offering stunning ocean views that made my stay even more special. The amenities were top-notch, with a relaxing pool area and rejuvenating spa services that left me feeling completely pampered. The complimentary breakfast each morning was delicious and a great way to start the day. The hotel’s location provided a tranquil retreat while still being close to the beach and local attractions. I highly recommend Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa to anyone looking for a luxurious and serene getaway. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so memorable!

First time here and loved how inclusive and smaller compared to large hotels. The view and grounds are beautiful. The trolley picks you up out front and can take you to many paces which is completely free. Great experience and can’t wait to come back.

Every single staff member was so attentive and helpful. The property is gorgeous and the ocean views breathtaking. The couples massage was amazing. We will definitely be coming back.

Rooms are too small, don’t have a mini fridge, ac doesn’t work properly and the beach access is a 10min walk carrying multiple items including crossing a busy avenue.

Excellent staycation for my wife and I, we also loved the pool, and the shuttle that took us to the pageant of the Masters play

The property itself was spectacular but I was disappointed by the size of the room first then no tub in the room then found out no jacuzzi either on the property but otherwise it was a cute place with beautiful views!
