Hampton Inn & Suites Denver/Highlands Ranch

The hotel was being renovated, and this was not noted on the Expedia Website when we booked. We checked into our room, unpacked and found that the TV did not work. They were unable to fix it and we had to move to another room - fortunately it was next door. We were traveling with other family members and had a total of 4 rooms - all of us had issues with our key cards not working and had to have them replaced a few times over 2 days. One room was right over the front doors and our family could hear the doors open and close all night. When returning from an event around 11pm there was a fire behind the hotel. We brought this to the attention of the front desk clerk and were told that the "construction workers are having a cookout"...at 11pm! There were other hotels in this area and I regret my decision to stay here.

Was nice and quiet. The parking late nights was hard to find a spot. The views are amazing.

Breakfast was pretty good. My husband has a gluten allergy so there were offerings he could eat which was great. The hotel does seem to be under renovation but the section we were in was in definite need of renovation. Everything seemed kind of old. I just was expecting more, maybe fancier, modern room for the price paid. It reminded me of an older Super 8 or similar.

The best hotel I have stayed at in the last 10 years. The dude at the front desk was super nice and helpful. The thing we liked the most was they had a print out of all the restaurants that were close to the hotel. Everyone from local favorites to your normal chain restaurants. There is a very good Cajun food joint right next to the hotel if you dont feel like driving away from the hotel. Pool was nice. Jets in the hot tub were insane. Highly recommend this Hampton

I was pretty pleased when I walked into my room on the 5th floor. Then I realized that they were doing construction just down the hall. OK - they were supposed to stop at 6, so I was ok. BUT (and this is a BIG BUT) - there was a slight breeze and the window started to hum loudly - ALL NIGHT LONG! I asked the clerk about it the next morning and she said "Oh ya - that happens on the 5th and 6th floors. I don't know what it is, but it happens." I asked why they would put a person in those rooms, and she said "I don't know. They just do." I was furious, and won't be staying there again. $200 for a lousy night.

Disappointing

They people at the hotel were so nice and friendly. The breakfast was good. I really enjoyed the coffee that I could go down and get easily and it was very good. My only issue is the bathroom was not cleaned completely. I had to wipe down counters. The carpet was dirty and needed cleaned. But the people were exceptional.

The renovation is very annoying and noisy. Checked in, could not get a nap in to do carpet, stripping and trim work being done in my area of the hotel. In addition, some kind of backup in the plumbing caused a backflow of what I can only describe as something into the sink in the vanity.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The renovated areas are beautiful and well done. We had an unrenovated room and it was fine. Clean and in fair condition just dated. The pool was wonderful - warm and clean. The workout room was newly updated, had new equipment and lots of room. Definitely not an afterthought like so many others. The only negative was the breakfast. Runny gravy, watery eggs....just overall not at the same level as the rest of the experience.

One of the cleanest hotels .we will look for these hotels for our trips.

Our suite had a king bed. We didn't realize we'd be in a very large room, and it made a big difference from being in a standard room. It was spacious and clean. The Housekeeping Service only comes every other day. Yet I'm pretty certain if you needed additional towels, soap, etc., a call to the Front Desk would make it happen.

We simply needed a simple place to stay for 2 nights, close to our house and with a reasonably good breakfast while a construction project was happening. This hotel met all of our needs.

Everything was phenomenal! We had people in the room above us that were stomping loudly and waking everyone up and then keeping everyone from sleeping later that night. The staff did an amazing job at getting the issue taken care of both times!

As always, the breakfast is very good and the dining area kept eating and clean.

I needed another night and they accommodated me last minute and I didn’t have to change rooms even though they were booked. The property was clean. The pool area was nice and towels were stocked. I needed extra towels and conditioner and it was delivered quickly. The staff was great and very friendly! The breakfast was excellent with a nice variety and mixed options daily. I will be back to this location. I am super satisfied with my stay.

The hotel is under construction, and there was a mess left by the workers. There were stains on a lot of the chairs, including our room. The floor hadn't been vacuumed, and there was water left in the ice bucket for who knows how long. Breakfast was your run of the mill hotel breakfast.

Was not aware that there would be renovations during our stay. This was very disruptive and we had to check out early. I am still giving the hotel 5 stars because the staff was very helpful and accommodating. I wish I would have been notified prior to our stay, but we will come back when the renovations are over because the hotel is just what we were looking for.

This hotel is fantastic---it was beautiful, clean, quiet, and comfortable. My room was nice and spacious and I enjoyed the fitness center and excellent breakfast. It was a great location, 25 minutes from downtown with mountain views. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. So happy with my choice to stay here.

I wish i could give you a 5stars. Everything went well until the homemade was knocking my door in the morning , not even 9am yet. When i opened the door , she said you have to check out today. This was a good stay not a great stay. The balcony rooms are awesome, wonderful to be able to get fresh air in the room. Down side, the pillows are the worst, if staying more than 1 night bring your own; our room wasn't super clean, my dogs found food under the couch and finger prints all over the windows and the young women at the front desk in the mornings seems just so bothered by having to do her job. Decent hotel just needs some tweaks.

I love Hampton Inn and have stayed at the same hotel several times. However, this time the room was not clean. There were stains on the carpet and the bathroom had dust on every surface. When I moved a towel, you could see the outline of it in the dust. I laid a black shirt on the toilet seat, and when I lifted it, it was gray from the dust.

We stayed for a week. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was goid with several options.

The last time was last week - something happened that had never happened in my life time. I stay in suite - the suite next to me had a hooker in it. Last night i was there From about 1:00 am until around 7:00 am I to listen to bang bang bang - and oh oh oh. It would stop for awhile - Heard doors open and shut - then happened again and again and again and again and again. Hard to sleep listing to that stuff. Ate breakfast - when i came back to my room a college age dude was standing in the hallway texting someone - he was in front of room in question's door. Otherwise the rest of my stay was good. Might not come back??? But we will see.

I'm not a pet owner and the room smelled like dogs. Had to buy spray to cut down on smell. Never could get rid of it. Had to go out and buy me a pillow to sleep on. Other than that it was ok.

mattress sloped to one side. tile floor was sticky. shower curtain could be replaced. veneer on bathroom door was pealing off at the bottom of the door. appeared as though the bathroom might have been flooded at one time.

The room and staff were average. I felt as though the price was a bit high for the room we were given. It was a handicapped accessible room with not very much room, no grab bars or room for a chairbound person in the bathroom area. There was only one grab bar in the bathtub area with an extremely high shower head that wasn't reachable.

The facility itself(room) was nice, but somewhat dated. I received a “ handicapped room”, though I didn’t request. Liked the roomier atmosphere. Staff was friendly and breakfast servers pleasant and attentive.

Friendly and knowledgeable checkin staff. Clean room with thoughtful amenities (e.g. standard and USB plugins, body lotion, luggage stand, clothing iron, 24/7 coffee with fixings). Hot tub was nice and hot. Many good breakfast options from hot to cold and packaged to freshly made.

My grandsons loved the indoor pool, I loved the hot tub. The room was really clean and comfy. It felt safe and it was quiet. Close to food and shopping. Only negative was the scratchy towels.

I’ve noticed this problem with Hampton lately. They say housekeeping is every other day, but that day never arrives. After three days I asked if I could get housekeeping and of course they said yes, but when I get back that day…no service. Four days at $160+ a day and they could never bother to empty a trash can or exchange a towel.

I walked into the room, + the refrigerator was wide open with defrosting towels. The entire room smelled of old water.

There was no tv remote, it took several attempts to find a working unit. Ultimately there was a problem with the TV. There was only one staff person around as it was after 5pm. Not acceptable for a hotel!

Hotel is still good condition considering few in the area are newer. Staff was great. Only issue, which we knew going in, is that it was a pet friendly hotel. We love pets! But I have allergies. Our room had dog hair on the couch and floor. Not a big deal, the bed was clean which is the most important. The weirdest part, was we stepped on 4 or 5 goat heads while there. We could only assume the previous dog brought them in, but man goat heads in the feet are not fun!

Everything was amazing, housekeeping could have been better as we ended up staying an extra night and requested room service but they never came in to clean our room, provide towels and clean linens. Other wise it was a great stay.

Their policy for housekeeping is every other day. I was there for four days & housekeeping never entered my room. The trash cans were full, dirty towels in the bathroom & bed never made. I requested housekeeping 3 times at the front desk I was told they had already left for the day. I was able to pick up clean towels on the 2nd night. On the On the third evening, the gentleman at the front desk went to my room & emptied the trash & left clean towels. I have tried calling the front office manager twice. I left a message the first time & never received a return phone call. Second time her voicemail was full & I was told to call back again.

I ate here for breakfast one morning. When I came downstairs at 8 am, they were ALREADY out of coffee and it took 20 minutes to get some. WHY have coffee ONLY in the lobby and not also in the buffet line?! So inconvenient. Poor design and huge service Error. After crappy breakfast and bad coffee, which there was a line for because people were desperate and it quickly emptied AGAIN, I met friends at other hotel where the breakfast buffet was much better. So the next morning I walked next door for breakfast for good coffee and plenty of food on buffet. Room was fine and clean. Location works if you’re going to a wedding. Plenty of parking and area seems safe.

Glad for pet friendly place but not good facilities for pets to do their business outside and the very small area they have is not well maintained - pet waste can overflowing, old feces on tiny grassy area, clearly not enough room for numerous pets to walk and do their business.

The closed door button in the elevator was broken. The pillows were lumpy. The beds were decent enough. Breakfast was OK standard fair. Rooms were very clean though.

The pool is in the basement which allows you to get to it without going through the lobby in a swim suit. The front desk staff was fabulous.

My only complaint is the breakfast - coffee was empty when I arrived, I alerted kitchen staff, and they said the machine was slow and needed repair. About 5 minutes later I again reminded them, and they had a full pot ready but had not put it out. When they put it out, there was already a line. 5 Minutes later it was empty again and I had to ask again for more coffee. Fix the machine, please.

Just wish there was more selection in the shop they have on site, a lot of stuff was out of stock
