The room was nice, bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good. The fire pit and swimming pool were enjoyable. We had no room service for the four days we were there. Body wash, conditioner and toilet paper had to be gotten from the front desk.

Excellent place for vacation

My adult daughter and I enjoyed our week stay recently while on vacation. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have housekeeping come every other day. It was also nice to have a security guard check our vehicle to make sure we were registered guests. The breakfasts were delicious and we even had real tableware some of the mornings. Overall we would rate it 10 out of 10!

What was even more concerning was that they followed us toward our room afterward, which made us feel unsafe. I believe there should be better security measures and control over who has access to the hotel’s amenities and guest areas. Guest safety should be a top priority, and unfortunately, this experience significantly impacted our stay.

The room and grounds were very clean. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast crew wasn't very friendly and food kept running out. But other than that I loved that they security manning the front. There were a few graduation groups that were staying there so it was a little loud and crowded at times.

I was very impressed with how clean and will put together my hotel was. Not only did they have all the utensils needed for cooking, but they also had shampoo conditioner and body wash in the shower if needed. The parking spaces were big enough that I wasn’t opening my door and slamming into the car next to me. The breakfast staff were extremely nice and helpful. They made sure that everything was stocked up and always had a smile and greeted us as soon as we walked through the door. Would recommend 10 out of 10 to stay here again.

I had a very disappointing experience during my stay on Saturday. Shortly after arriving, I found a dirty wash cloth hanging in the shower, which immediately raised concerns about the cleanliness of the room. On top of that, the front desk employee, Taylor, was extremely rude and unprofessional when addressing concerns. The situation escalated into false allegations being made against me, and I was removed from the property without being able to stay overnight. Overall, the customer service and cleanliness were unacceptable, and I would not recommend staying here based on my experience.

This location is far enough from the airport/city crowd, but still within the "safe zone" of Long Beach/Lakewood. I walked my dog at 11:30PM with absolutely no issue. The staff is very accommodating - with most of the landscaping staff calling my pet by name after day 4. Daily breakfast is great, but get in there early or you will be S.O.L. The Convention Center next door was a little loud once (on a Saturday), but overall it's a peaceful location. There are a couple of grocery stores, plenty of fast food and an "adult recreational" store within 5 to 8 minutes from the hotel. Hey we are all adults ... whatever floats your boat .. right?!? Nice otel ... My only 2 Gripes: How much it costs to wash/dry a load of clothing ($8 total) .. and I am a Marriot Member. The normal internet speed is crap - but it is $4.95 PER DAY to upgrade it, even for Marriot Members ... really?

2. Ice maker not working 3. Fireplace non functional 4. Sundry store 100% out of pain relievers. Aspirin, Tylenol, Advil, etc. 5. Pool and hot tub closed 30 minutes early and I had kids wanting to use them! Room 1412

I have grown to love residence inn. Every time I have stayed there, staff has been extra friendly, it’s been clean, and I have been happy with their pricing. This location continued that trend. The front staff was full of smiles and seemed to genuinely want my stay to be great. Breakfast was good, and they had a designated spot for uber/lyft. I did not visit the pool, but it looked clean and well maintained. There was a couple of families having fun in it, and I would have used it if I had time. I did use the gym, and it was clean, nice, and had all I needed. I’d definitely stay here again.

Didn’t arrive until close to midnight and it was nice to be greeted and checked in by a friendly staff. Made a long day of travel east at the end of the day.

Room was great, however the motorcyclists who revved their engines by our patio door all night and morning causing us to inhale fumes was the worst. We complained to the hotel staff and they said, “They were leaving” and it was nothing they could do, I would never stay there again.

There was an unexpected security deposit upon checking in . Our room was all the way at the back of the property and we had to roll our baggage to the building from the office . Staff was very nice and friendly.

Hotel rooms are roomy and spacious, yet aged. What it makes up for in age, is that it is meticulously maintained by the staff and has onsite security. Close to the 405 and yet maybe 10 mins to the water and great dining.

This is our second time staying in this hotel. Everything was clean and parking is open and easy to find a space nearby our room. Staff is always very welcoming and breakfast is good. I got to use the exercise room but a weight machine was unfortunately broken. Maybe it will get resolved soon but other than that a very well stay. Thank you for everything.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. Generally they do a good job. The breakfast and lunch food is always good. My only issue is the cleaning fee, which they tell us is refundable. We always leave the room as clean as we can. I have yet to get a refund.

We frequently travel for my son's national tennis tournaments, and Marriott has always been our preferred choice for accommodations due to its reliability and comfort. We also make it a point to choose Marriott properties that are conveniently located near tournament venues. However, during our most recent stay, we were quite surprised and disappointed with the breakfast offering. There were no vegetarian options available — no bread, fruits, bananas, or even a pancake machine. Most of the items were non-vegetarian, which left us with no suitable choices and forced us to eat breakfast elsewhere. We’ve come to expect a certain standard from Marriott, especially with breakfast being such an important part of a family’s stay during busy tournament schedules. I hope you’ll take this feedback into consideration and ensure more inclusive and balanced options in the future. Thank you for your time and attention.

Staff was very responsive (when I called at 10 pm to request more blankets for the signed, front desk said to give her 30 minutes- they were knocking on our door within 5). The kitchen was well stocked and had everything I needed.

Majority of the employees were rude including Manager, manger wrongfully charged me for parking, staff lying about what time gm comes in to protect manager. Cleaning lady was mean. The room itself was really nice, just need better staff

Do NOT recommend for pets as the fee is extraordinary at $150/ night. The website did not list the fee as most websites do. We would not have chosen this hotel had we known the high fee for a small, potty trained dog that does not shed fur.

I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. Our towels when we arrived were clearly dirty, not sure how the housekeeper signed off on that. The floor and surfaces looked dirty as well like they just swept but didn’t mop, and there was hair around our sink when we arrived too. The Netflix app on the TV didn’t work. It kept freezing in the middle of what we were watching . Also, one of the main reasons we chose the hotel was because of the hot tub and the hot tub wasn’t working. For the cost of the room I was expecting more. Overall, not the best experience but not the worst.

Family came in from out of town for a funeral. It would have been a long drive so we booked the residence and it was seven minutes away from where the services were going to be. The breakfast in the morning is excellent.

We went to drop off our daughter to the University and we stayed to be close to the CSULB campus. We enjoyed the spacious room and the continental breakfast provided. The hotel overall was well maintain and staff was very friendly. We will definitely recommend and we will come back again!

Didn’t like the fact that I get charged every day for parking a car while I spent on a room, and that there wasn’t a sit down smoking section but overall we enjoyed our time there!!!!!!

Our unit had spiders and other bugs throughout the week we were there. We were on the ground floor and there was quite a bit of noise above us. There was vomit in the parking lot outside of our unit the day we checked in. And when we left 5 days later, it was still there.

For the money charged, this is a very substandard Marriott property. Our room was near the road and there was road noise all night. The microwave was not working. They had turned the breaker off inside the breaker box. The breaker box was right next to the stove & microwave. Turning the breaker on, lit up the microwave which was non responsive to any button presses. This means the property was aware of this but gave this room to a guy that is disabled and needed a functional kitchen. The front desk was indifferent to the issue when raised upon check out but the grudgingly offered more Marriott points. Utter BS. Avoid this place.

Great long term alternative place!

Basic and disappointing for a Marriott. Booked & paid for a king, got a queen, was told this was because they are "ADA compliant." Seems like bait & switch. Bathroom door stuck so hard you had to shoulder check it to open and made an awful sound, bathroom not cleaned properly- found hair and an old used, dried out soap bar on the tub. Pool area clean, but no pool towels available and the hottub jets broken. We told a maintenence person, who said they'd look into it, but got a radio call and had to leave, problem not resolved. Returned after our event that night and a large, loud group was protesting the large police presence staying at the property. Asked front desk staff if this was normal for the area, staff responded, "no comment, they have the right to privacy." Hot breakfast options were very nice and the breakfast staff were friendly and keeping the area well stocked.

Overall a really nice stay what I did not like was the $250 Deposit for my stay that was absolutely too much ! Changes need to be made with that . However staff were friendly the place overall clean , parking easy , located near the freeway , spacious room . Id Love to come back !

I always stay in the Residence Inn when I travel back. I enjoy the kitchen and dishwasher. Staff have been very helpful and prompt. My rare issues have been quickly addressed and I appreciate the convince of parking outside my room. Just know that one of the pool doors accepts cards, the other does not. My room key has never opened one specific pool door. I haven't been to the gym yet to see how that works.

The room was nice the staff was great however we had a room in the back which was next door to a mental hospital & we would hear screaming off & on throughout the night. It was very unsettling.

My stay was amazing but only thing I was not aware of that I have to pay for the parking.

This property was not as convenient to the port as they had led on in the property description. I also had to drive a good distance to get quality food. This hotel was not up to Marriott standards and it was quite dirty. There were black hairs all around the room and bathroom (my family has blonde hairs), there was a used bandaid attached to one of the shower bars, and we found multiple spiders/bugs around the room. This is the first time at a Marriott that I have actually had to look for bed bugs as that’s the vibe the cleanliness gave me. I was going to get pictures of two other spiders but they scattered before I grabbed my phone. One was behind the curtain by where my son was sleeping which was even more worrisome.

This was a great place, I will stay here again.

Requested early check which they said they would grant. Once I arrived they said there was still nothing available. They would have a room available by 11 THEN it was 12:00. When did not get a room until 1:30 in the very back part of the property by the fence. DEI maybe?? Door would not open and trash was in the back not unkept at all. I was disappointed as a member, there was no longer VA discounts, actually nothing was available for seniors or anything. I will not recommend to stay here to anyone nor will I stay there again. I did not understand why we were place in the back but we were able to go back to the front desk and dealt with a young male attendant who was good with moving us to a safer place within the property.

I love the hotel but where I stayed the tv would constantly disconnect from the wifi and I was not able to watch my shows. And also I stayed for 5 days and housekeeping only came once. Otherwise I enjoyed it

The bathtub handles fell off when I tried to turn on the water. The first day, the netflix kept timing out, then it was not working completely for the rest of my 5 night stay. The TV's date and time changed back to 2014 on about day 2 so I could not see what shows were on "the channel guide". I reported the TV issues to the front desk. For the netflix, they said one of their routers were not working. This is a couple hour fix but at the end of my 5 days, nothing was working. I reported the time/date on day 2 or 3, the tech came to my room and said I needed a new box on the back of the TV, but he never came back.

Check in process was easy and quick. Breakfast was good with hot food and bagels. Sausages were a little dried out but overall not terrible and expected breakfast quality overall Only cons included finding a few small cockroaches roaming around the room. Seems they come out of the drains in the kitchen and bathroom areas. Obviously would be nice to not have them roaming at all. Additionally, the room itself was clean but had an odor of someone smoking that cleared out after turning on the HVAC. Would I stay here again? It wouldn't be my first choice but it wasn't bad to say never again.

Hotel & room were great. Staff was friendly & helpful. However, I do not like being charged a deposit for incidentals. My credit card is on file & if something were to come up, you could charge it at that time. To charge extra on my card ahead of time, freezes my account & takes too long for the charge to be refunded.

My biggest suggestion would be to upgrade their toilets to a taller and more oblong shaped toilet! It is very hard for a normal size man to sit on these small round toilets. It would not be that expensive to upgrade the toilets!

Cleaning needs to be improved as I found the trash left from the previous renter. Housekeeping needs to triple check the rooms when clean them as I found trash next to the bed and another trash behind the couch.

Pool was not heated as stated. Hot tub was not working the whole time of our stay which was terrible for my kid who tried to swim. TV Netflix was also not working in the room which was also not good for my kid. Very unsatisfactory amenities.
