Residence Inn by Marriott Manhattan Beach

The only downside to this property would be the tough turn to get into the property itself. I had a very smooth checkin check out. We are a family of 4 and had an amazing time. We plan to stay at this exact location again if we're anywhere near LA. Way better than taking a risk somewhere else. Breakfast was great every morning. There was always parking. There was always staff if you needed them. The room was clean and spacious. What an amazing value. Thank you all -Tran family.

The stay was excellent! We were bummed we didn't get to enjoy the breakfast due to an early flight but we will definitely stay again. The room is always nice and it's very quiet. We really enjoy staying there.

The shower was not working properly the faucet and the shower head I couldn’t turn off either or they had to vein at the same time! But other then that I loved the hotel super cute and comfortable, I would stay again

The only flaw was you could tell the room used to be a smoking room at one time. It had a faint stale cigarette smoke smell that never really goes away after changing to non-smoking. It wasn't overpowering but certainly noticeable but not a deal breaker.

Loved our stay at this property. The location was great,close to the airport but not noisy. There is a Target next door and multiple dining options and a mall within a 5 minute drive.The area is very safe and we were very comfortable walking around the neighborhood. The pool is heated and was pleasant even in February. Breakfast was very good, and had a daily variety of hot and cold items. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds themselves are very well maintained. The loft unit we stayed in was spatious and quiet. Had 1 separate bedroom on the main floor and a queen bed in the loft. There ate also 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen. Loved our stay here and would definitely return if staying in LA again.

Perfectly situated if you wanna visit L.A.'s (in my opinion) most beautiful quarter - Manhattan Beach. Super cozy apartments, nice and clean. Spectacular breakfast and very friendly staff, a special thank to Mercedes who was super helpful with us and our little toddler girl. Thanks!

Location was perfect. Near restaurants, a Target and CVC was within walking distance. Restaurants and malls were all within a 10 minute car ride away. Room was big and had a full kitchen. The townhouse style layout gave it a homey feel. Breakfast was more than ample and had a variety of choices over a span of a few days. parking should have been free

Staff was wonderful, and although the room was clean, it was rundown. Carpet was worn at seams. Paint patched with different type of paint. Bathroom tub faucet broken, and stopper didn’t work. Front door looked like it had been kicked in or beat on. I am very disappointed as we have stayed in other Residence Inns and the accommodations were much nicer. The Manhattan Beach facilities were (room) rundown and felt low budget. I realize they were under construction, but clearly we were in a room that had not been updated even though the website said it would not affect our stay. Would jot recommend, or stay there again. The price was not worth it.

There was dead worms in the room, coffee maker did not work. The light cover over the bed fell on my wife because it was broken and just set back on to look it was ok. The ceiling had big water stains on it and the wall next to it has water stains as well for some type of leak. For the price I paid we could have stayed somewhere nicer

The room had ants and the lights kept cutting off. We had to keep switching the breakers

The sink in the kitchen was pouring out water through the cabinets because something was loose. The maintenance guy was responsive bringing extra towels to clean up the mess. I do have videos and pictures of that. The cabinetry in the bathroom underneath the sink fell apart on its own when removing a towel. It appears it wasn’t screwed in properly, but my fiancé put it back together. Overall the property was okay. The breakfast was decent. The staff who prepared the food are really nice and accommodating. Would I stay here again? No I wouldn’t.

We arrived during the very early morning as a late check-in, and the guy at the reception desk was very customer service oriented. We had the suite and really enjoyed it. The only downside is that I noticed that the toilet seat wasn’t cleaned. I used Lysol and paper towels to clean it. Otherwise it offered everything that we needed. The room also had kitchen utensils and dishes and cups. The front desk receptionist during the day was super sweet as well. I would definitely stay here again. I loved the area.

I needed an extended stay to beat the heat of Fla and wanted a place near my old neighborhood that is walkable to MB. I loved having a full kitchen and a daily hot breakfast in the lobby. The kitchen crew were very sweet and offered so many options. The pool was nice, and open late so you could enjoy the firepit lounges. The front desk was friendly and accomodating and welcomed my dog and I for the lengthy stay. Laundry didn't work well ( shotty wifi runs the machines) and the night manager guy was grumpy and not helpful but the daytime staff was amazing. Karen and Caroline were amazing.

Parking is horrible. Very small spots and lack of. Dishes were dirty in the room. Couch was torn. Had breakfast last morning and half of it was empty. No urgency to keep refilling.

Things were not repaired. Towel rack falling of the wall, light falling off the wall and electrical tape on the carpet as molding when you first entered the room. And the staff one of staff from the front desk (Kai) was very unprofessional in how she handled things.

I travel with my task trained service dog who was welcomed.

Bath isn't good. Hot water does not come out enough and a lid of tub does not work properly.

Great location, 5 minutes or less to the beach. Close to everything that makes Manhattan Beach so special.

Stayed 2 nights. No one even checked out room to see if we needed towels or garbage emptied. No light in stove area so you can see what you are doing. No baking dish to warm up food you don’t want to microwave. Insufficient light on bathroom so you can properly apply makeup. No overhead lighting. Only one ice machine for entire hotel. You can get a very small bag at the office. Not enough to fill ice chest to keep contents cold if your next stay is in a hot part of California. Disappointed in value for the money spent. Plastic utensils for breakfast. How is this environmentally friendly? Marriott hotels usually are upscale with excellent value for your money but this one is not one of them. I am learning that you must not assume that you will be receiving service that in the past was routine. Hotels are unbundling their service do either they can save money or charge for individual items much like the airlines. This is definitely not a first class hotels. Bed mattresses were also uncomfortable.

2nd time staying here! We love it

Every single staff member I interacted with was excellent. I particularly have wonderful things to say about the front desk workers Sylvia and I can’t remember the other young girls name, but everyone was really kind, friendly and accommodating as we were in town for a funeral. Having an egg kind and friendly stuff really meant a lot to our family this visit. The only thing I would say about criticism is the parking is extraordinarily expensive. It’s not like we have a choice to park on the street because the main road is right outside so it feels kind of like a gotcha Very expensive for a long-term stay @ $25/day

The stay was truly wonderful! Stayed here for a concert and it was fairly easy to navigate the area and coming in and out of the property. A very quiet and clean stay!

This is the 3rd time I’ve stayed at Marriit Manhattan and it was just what we needed. The beds are comfortable, bathroom is spacious and the kitchen allowed us to prep food for the day. It’s an easy commute to the beach and offered great restaurants near by.

Front desk staff had obvious different attitudes towards me and other guests while checking in and out, no response or words to my questions.

Yes it is on a busy thoroughfare. But is walkable to downtown Manhatten Beach. I had problems with the TV. Other than that the breakfast was good. Gym and Pool. Very safe location.

In a shopping area

The area is nice and full of dining and shopping options, the beach is a quick 7-minute drive, but it would probably take 25+ minutes to walk to it. I had no issues parking on the beach since we went early on a weekday, but I can see how that may change on a weekend or later in the day.

The hotel is well-located near restaurants and shops, and close to the beach. The breakfast was very good with close access to both the 405 and the airport. We were there for a graduation at UCLA in Westwood, and though the drive was a bit longer than staying in Westwood, it felt like a SoCal vacation, and for that, we appreciated it.

This room was perfect for my group of 6. We did the two queen beds and used the pull out couch. Water pressure was great and the breakfast was perfect for all of us. A little of everything. They staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Awesome hotel. All the staff were very nice and welcoming. Full breakfast was exceptional. Eggs every day, sausage one day, biscuits and sausage gravey next day, some egg whites with tomato and basil, 3 kinds of cereal, oatmeal and 2 waffle makers and 2 toasters. Yogurt, milk , chocolate milk, bread, bagels, English muffins etc. SO MANY CHOICES! Pool is heated and gym was very clean and included Weights, treadmill, Elecpticals and bikes. Room was like a studio apartment with full size fridge, all needed cooking utensils, stove, microwave and even had dish soap (very thoughtful). No bathtub for toddlers, but easy if you're child showers sometimes. With traffic about 1 hr. From Universal Studios and 10 Minuts to the beach. If you forgot to bring something Target is literally a 5 min WALK. Manhatten beach is clean and had lots of parking relatively close to the water. My personal recommendation is that my visit would be highly Recommend.

Clean rooms and good overall experience

We travel to LA and stay in this hotel at least 4 times a year. It is convenient for us because of its location and especially because of the full kitchen (severely allergic guests). We used to be satisfied there; however, we have noticed that its installations and amenities have not been up to quality: couches are torn with broken armrests, carpets are worn and stained, fridges dented, and a bad odor in the suites (mold?). When you complain, they never have other rooms available in the same day. A complete room make over would be necessary, especially having in mind that the daily rates are not cheap.

The hotel itself was very nice—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. However, my only issue was the inaccurate distance listed. It states that the hotel is an 11-minute drive to SoFi Stadium, but in reality, it took closer to 20-25 minutes. I specifically chose this location to be near the stadium, as my daughter was working an event there, so the extra travel time was a bit frustrating. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

Amazing stay and property overall. Only cons would be shower floor was quite dirty and I would recommend getting a top floor room rather than bottom. We stayed in bottom and could hear absolutely everything above us. Kept us up at night.

Comfortable motel. Close to LAX and to Manhatten Beach shops. Better than average. It is a secure area with a gate but with a fee for parking. Modest to good breakfast. I would stay there again.

There was a startling alarm/buzzing that went off several times during the night. It could have been the refridgerator. Needless to say, we did not get a good nights sleep.

Great central location close to beach and LAX. Quiet, great convenient kitchenette. My only complaint was photo showed room with divider wall which did not exist. Plus, the sleeper sofa was the most uncomfortable sleep ever and blankets provided were paper thin. We requested as comforter and got another paper thin blanket. Why pay extra person fee when they don’t get any sleep?

I asked to check in early and was told room would not be ready til 4 pm. Showed up at 4 pm and was told room was still not ready! They had me down for an accessible room (my mistake) but I had told them when I first called that I did not need an accessible room. So when I showed up and the room was still not ready it’s bc they were still operating under the idea that I needed an accessible room. They figured it out and I didn’t wait too long but front desk people seemed a bit disorganized. Also, my room smelled like old cigarette smoke! I would have asked to move but didn’t have time as I was meeting friends for a ticketed event.

I should have read the fine print.....there is a $25.00 per day charge in addition to the room rate to park your vehicle at the Inn. Also, cleaning services are not daily. They are every two days. I do not believe that was mentioned in the hotel description

Appalling service. After being promised a refund as the pool was not going to be open during our stay we are still fighting with Expedia to receive that refund. I have it in writing that the hotel agreed to refund but Expedia are saying the hotel is now refusing to honor that. Avoid at all costs.

Ground floor rooms are completely different from upper. I asked twice if they can switch rooms for me but no availability. So I had to listen how happy upstairs guests are walking in their upper rooms. Also, housekeepers just want to enter room, and hotel has no tags “do not disturb”.
