Guests generally appreciate the hotel's modern decor, cleanliness, and comfortable rooms, particularly highlighting the cozy beds. However, there are consistent complaints about slow service, particularly in the restaurant and bar, as well as issues with room readiness and cleaning. Some guests also express concerns about the surrounding area and noise levels.

This property was very modern and convenient. My bed was comfortable and the room was clean and gave a relaxing feel. The front desk attendants were very friendly and nice. The bar and restaurant area has a very elegant look.

The hotel accommodation and location was good to access places of interest, Sun Records, Beale Street, various music museums. The staff who provided breakfast service in the restaurant were welcoming and attentive. Breakfast itself provided a good variety of food. The "hostess" on the evening of 10th May was very rude and unhelpful. This was Mother's Day in America. We checked with Hotel reception if we needed to book a meal for the evening meal, they informed us that it was not necessary. We also checked the Hotel's events calendar, a Mother's Day brunch was advertised, for which booking a table was required, nothing for the evening. We therefore, decide to eat at the Hotel. However, when we asked for a table the "hostess" informed us if we had no reservation, a table was not available. We explained we had checked beforehand and no reservation was required. She rudely repeated no table available. As it was 2000 and restaurant was shown to stay open until 2200 we said we were prepared to wait. She then informed us, also in an aggressive manner, that the restaurant was closing in 20 minutes (2020). We politely pointed out that the restaurant was shown to be open until 2200. She basically shrugged her shoulders and restated restaurant was closing in 20 minutes. I believe we were not the only people to be faced with this attitude on this night. Her unprofessional behaviour certainly did not show the restaurant in a good light. We did speak to reception, but all they did was to apologise.

They didn’t have the room I booked gave us a smaller one where things were broken and then they couldn’t move us
- 5/5
We loved our room. It was exceptionally clean with well- throughout amenities. Only thing that was even a little annoying was the sounds of traffic and surrounding entertainment. This went into the wee hours of the morning, but we still had a pretty restful night!

My wife and I favorite place to stay while in Memphis!

It was a great location
- 5/5
It's across the street from the Peabody which makes it close to everything we wanted to do. The restaurant in the lobby is really good and the staff was helpful. In the alley near valet parking is a little BBQ spot that the guys who parked our car recommended and it was great as well. We definitely will be back.

Great location close to everything

The location was close to Beale Street and the FedEx Forum. Very happy with our stay. Will stay again when I come to Memphis.

location was great check in at front desk was horrible couldn,t get in our room that was already paid for and checked people in before us that came 1 hour after us along with very poor service in the restaurant we got there before 10 pm was told they were open till midnight we got our food at almost 1130 pm and there was only one other couple eating in the whole restaurant. The hotel was really nice hopefully these issues can be fixed because we would really like to stay there again.

Very nice room. Close to bars.
- 4/5
The property is lovely and the staff very kind. The only real issue we had was with a damaged AC and refrigerator. It made some terrible noises overnight that kept waking us. I’m sure it was just a random unfortunate event. Pretty hotel, near Beale and plenty of places to walk to.

Clean room and staff was wonderful

Reserved a king bed weeks in advance for wife and I , on arrival we’re stuck in a double 2 bed. Barn doors that slide for bathroom wouldn’t stay open so had to rig’ up by propping open, good shower and water pressure, nice view, nice valet gents, but staff wouldn’t help with king bed res’, neither did Expedia, which only offered a coupon sf some sort through an AI message😩, so plan is to delete app and never stay at Canopy again, but atleast the Robert Plant show was excellent!

Nice hotel.
- 4/5
The property was nice. Clean room and staff were very nice. I did order food from the restaurant late and it was really good. The only thing I didn’t like was the digital key was suppose to be available and it wasn’t until I physically checked in. It’s very close to the feeder forum. I don’t think valet should be $42.00; however, it’s convenient and I didn’t have to wait long to get my car.

Clean room, good location.

Broken shower with peeling floor, only 2 towels provided for the four of us & no phone in the room to contact the front desk, uncomfortable beds — & the view out of our window was a brick wall. The room was nothing like the pictures and was definitely Not worth the $300+ we were charged

Good location opposite the famous Peabody Hotel and a short walk to the bars and clubs. Great comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Also has a handy coffee shop downstairs for a quick coffee and breakfast. Bar area didn’t feel particularly friendly or comfortable. Vallet parking can get busy during peak periods.

Absolutely Comfortable
- 5/5
I’ve stayed at the Canopy Hotel several times, and every visit has been a top-tier experience. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and the staff always goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The restaurant is also very good and definitely worth trying while you’re there. Exceptional experience every time.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. It was walking distance to all the bars.
- 5/5
All staff professional and exceptionally courteous
- 4/5
The Friendly Staff and Service made my stay! The location to all the tourist stops made my trip back after 40 years away brought back many treasured memories. Thank You!
- 5/5
Room was great and staff was amazing. Great Stay!
- 5/5
The entire stay from beginning to end was GREAT. The staff was exceptionally friendly, informative, and helpful. I appreciated the cleanliness and fragrant smell from the lobby to the room the most. The location was a plus I didn’t need to drive anywhere everything was in walking distance. I will never stay anywhere else in Memphis again, but the CANOPY!
- 5/5
Clean room. Nice and courteous staff. Beautiful esthetics.

It was an amazing stay and beautiful room! We walked the strip at night to Beale street and felt safe

Had an excellent experience with clean facilities and valet service, both of which provided outstanding customer support.

- 4/5
This was a nice hotel, the staff could be a little friendlier no one looked like they wanted to do their job. Especially at the bar.
- 3/5
The hotel room itself was decent and seemingly clean. However, our mini fridge did not work which is a big deal with a baby. I contacted service who said someone would come look and they never did. In addition, the outlets between the beds didn’t work, and the coffee machine didn’t work. Basically $300 a night for a bed.
- 5/5
Great customer service property wide. Loved my room!
- 4/5
No free breakfast. Very expensive parking. Otherwise good.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet, even with a high school marching band staying at the same time. Security was good with key entry at the elevator and room. The staff was exceptional and saved the day! They pulled together 4 steamers so we could get wrinkles out of a wedding gown. The parking attendants were fast and super helpful as well. Would highly recommend staying here
- 5/5
Very Clean. Awesome Staff!
- 5/5
The canopy hilton downrowm was a great hotel
- 5/5
We loved the hotel’s eccentric decor and spacious rooms. It was in the middle of downtown Memphis of which the Rendezvous BBQ joint was only a 3 minute walk. The Peabody ducks are directly in front of the Canopy Hotel and we also walked to the Flying Fish for some phenomenal seafood! I’d definitely stay at Canopy again….we absolutely loved it!!!
- 5/5
Very clean bed was comfy and the location was perfect
- 5/5
Staff particularly valet very friendly
- 5/5
Clean and great staff
- 5/5
Staff exceptional
- 5/5
Hotel was good but my chiller wasn’t working and when I reported it I was just told there was nothing they could do
- 3/5
I liked that you could walk to certain places and the check-in staff were very pleasant. I definitely did not appreciate paying for parking. On your website it says you offered free breakfast yet we ended up spending $53.00. The valet staff was very pleasant and helpful. I cannot honestly say I would recommend this Hotel without mentioning these things. At least if you have to pay for the Hotel and parking you could offer a free breakfast.
- 5/5
Overall great experience
- 5/5
I loved the ambience of this hotel. Everything was great. The room was so spacious and very clean. It’s close to so many dining options.
- 5/5
Valet attendant was exceptional
- 3/5
Having to go to another floor for water and ice.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel compared to its rate.
- 4/5
great!
- 5/5
Very kind helpful staff
- 3/5
The best thing about our stay was the valet staff. Our room had a cracked sink and dirt on the bathroom floors. The beds were completely sunk in and we had to use pillows to prop ourselves from rolling off. The hand soap in our bathroom had not been refilled. On the one occasion that I visited the coffee shop downstairs, the drink I ordered (spicy Mexican hot chocolate) wasn’t available because they “ran out of the ingredients”. At the end of our stay I asked the front desk for an itemized bill and the person working at the front said they couldn’t give me one because the printer was broken. Each one of these situations would not have been a deterrent on their own. When combined, though, it was enough for pause. The valet staff were amazing and we appreciated all their hard work. Unfortunately we will not be returning.
- 5/5
Really liked the location and being across from the Peabody. Also, were kept awake by the loud mufflers cruising up and down Union and we were on the 3rd floor.
- 5/5
Staff was very nice and helpful
- 4/5
Good check in
- 3/5
For being a 4 star hotel it was not up to standard. The bathroom was not clean, dirt and grime was in the corners of the shower pan and along the glass door. A poor job was done to fix issues like gaps between the tile, which were sloppily caulked over. I’ve stayed in 2.5 star Holiday Inns with cleaner restrooms.
- 5/5
Very pleased with my stay
- 4/5
I found breakfast choices a bit limited in the hotel and it was all al la carte, so no buffet available. The hotel seemed quiet when I was there with few people eating or drinking in the lobby/restaurant. Air-conditioning in the room was noisy, but overall a decent hotel and well located.
- 4/5
The shower was dirty at the bottom of it but everything else was clean
- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
Staff is always great and location is convenient
- 5/5
Fist time staying here...loved it!
- 2/5
Would never stay at this location again unless the City makes changes.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and great dining.
- 1/5
Rooms were dirty and smelly. Staff didn't bother to address our need to bave two rooms next to each other especially that my son is being treated at st. Jude.
- 5/5
Very nice place. Clean, quiet and withing walking distance to Beale st
- 5/5
Nice location
- 5/5
Highly recommend! Beautiful place!
- 4/5
Didn't have frig or microwave in room. Maybe because the restaurant was downstairs but most hotels have too
- 5/5
There was no microwave in the room, my food cooler was not working, this property has no pool area to cool off from the Memphis heat
- 4/5
The view wasn’t great but other than that the room was great
- 2/5
For a 4 star place it wasnt ok and i have pics that the place wasn't great
- 3/5
stayed 5 nights. Never got a bottle of water and when asked at front desk how to buy water was told they did not have any water or any small store selling water. When checking out I noticed bags with 2 containers of water and when I asked, was offered one. "It just came in yesterday". Restaurant was super slow and did not have orange juice at breakfast. No one seemed to care much. The outlet in the desk unit came out of the desk when I unplugged my charger. Scary. Great location though.
- 5/5
I was blown away by the Customer Service! Natasha is Excellent at Front Desk! Eager to accommodate us with kindness and graciousness! The ambiance is SO COOL! Rooms impeccable!! Best Ice Machines !!!!
- 4/5
Two night stay in Memphis. Good location opposite The Peabody & close to Beale Street. Comfortable bed, good wi-fi. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Right across street from Peabody and AutoZone Park. Walk to restaurants and shopping.
- 5/5
Great place to stay- convenient- next to Redbirds stadium
- 3/5
Room not ready a, 30’ after 4:00 pm
- 5/5
The dinner staff, bar staff, and front desk staff, Valet attendant that we interacted with were all amazing. When in Memphis will definitely be staying at the Canopy.
- 3/5
The highlight of our stay was the Valet “Billy” he was very personable, professional and considerate. Billy, clearly is an asset to the hotel staff! We had to change rooms during our stay and my wife forgot her prescription medication in the room and after informing the front desk she was informed they would check with housekeeping. They never informed us and I spoke with the employee at the desk and she would check with them again and said she had my number and would call me. No call from them and when I inquired in person I was told they didn’t find it. I’m quite certain housekeeping found the prescription and never turned it in. My wife went without her medicine for four days because of them. Because of this I would never return nor recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff did not have the common decency to contact me.
- 5/5
Great staff, nice room
- 5/5
Good experience
- 5/5
Nice clean hotel closed to everything downtown
- 4/5
Hotel is only a few blocks from Beale St. - which was both good and bad. An easy walk to Beale, but we were hounded by homeless on way back to hotel. No problem during day but as it got dark, became sketchy.
- 4/5
Beautiful place to stay definitely would recommend others to stay while in Memphis.
- 1/5
Michael at canopy refused to honor my confirmation stating Expedia cancelled my reservation
- 4/5
There was loud music across the street . Had loud bass til 10 pm. Very annoying
- 4/5
The only things that need to be changed are the way they wash towels. the cleaning materials should smell better, has chlorine smell. everything else was great
- 3/5
No water bottles or cups in the fitness room and no towels
- 3/5
We arrived just before 5pm and our room wasn’t ready, although check in was 4pm. After waiting another 20 mins we got a room. The refrigerator didn’t work, there was a coffee pot but only decaf was available. There was one glass & one coffee cup. When we went to the front desk we were told there were no other rooms available and the coffee delivery hadn’t been received that week so only decaf available. We asked for an additional coffee mug & glass and housekeeping brought two coffee mugs, no glass available. Location was about 3 blocks from Beale St. There were a number of people living on the streets that the hotel allowed to walk on the property, asking patrons for cash. At times we did not feel safe although there was a significant police presence in the area. On the positive side, every employee was courteous and helpful when possible.
- 1/5
Par contre le staff de la reception super sympa et les valet aussi. Tarif parking super cher!
- 5/5
very pleasant stay!
- 1/5
Dirty beds smell like a middle Eastern salesman Food wasn’t good Coffee shop was not good. Barista out of order Can’t charge to room Neglected just like Memphis.
- 3/5
Very convenient to local sites. Restaurant is poor service and mediocre food.
- 5/5
Excellent location!
- 3/5
The hotel restaurant service was HORRIBLE! First they left us sitting for 30 minutes. Then we waited for more than an hour to finally receive burnt and cold food. Management never came over to apologize or even acknowledge us. Everything else about the hotel was good to average.
- 4/5
Streaming services would not work on TV. Talked to front desk and noone ever came up. Ended up falling asleep.so not too big of a deal
- 5/5
Great hotel. Definitely one of the best.
- 4/5
Rooms are not cleaned daily, towels are not changed
- 5/5
great location and so many places just in walking distance. Staff was amazing and the room was great.
- 3/5
Our room floor was really sticky, the room had only decaf espresso we asked about getting coffee and they said we can buy a cup at their cafe. Never not had free coffee at a hotel. Also we were led to believe we were around the corner from Beale Street but it was a 10 minute walk. Parking was 48 dollars more expensive than advertised.
- 3/5
We got there and received a standard inside room, no view, no pull out couch, and no added space in the room. We were told sorry by a nice staff but they admittedly had already given our room away.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly but there were issues like overly bright bathroom night light that we were told could not be turned off, but our friends staying in hotel did not have this problem. No room cleaning one day (we were out of room for 12 hours). Check in delayed until 5:45 waiting for room when we arrived.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with lots of Memphis-focused decor, outstanding staff and amenities.
- 5/5
Great location . Felt quite safe in surrounding areas.
- 4/5
We booked a one night stay in Memphis before cruising the Mississippi on Viking. This was a pretty good choice. We were walking distance from Beale and Main street. The lobby bar was great and poured good drinks. The staff was kind. What I didn't like was the $42 valet parking fee which I did not read ahead of time on this website. The place felt a little sterile to me at times. The lobby area was great and we really liked the full gym available for our morning workout!
- 5/5
No complaints
- 4/5
Great location near Beale St in Memphis, very walkable close to lots of good bars, restaurants and attractions including the civil rights museum and bass pro pyramid. We arrived early and dropped our luggage - this was done without issue however the lady on reception was a bit blunt. Good coffee machine with plenty of pods supplied. Some street noise at night which is unavoidable in this area. Overall good location for a couple of days exploring Memphis.
- 5/5
Only issue was no self parking but valet was much more convenient. Location 10/10 and the atmosphere was awesome. I love having to use the key to gain access to the elevator for security purposes.
- 5/5
I love it 10/10
- 4/5
Great stay. Valet is a little expenses. It is $48 and no public parking.
- 2/5
There was not much to do around the hotel. If your room is on Union street you won’t get much sleep with the sounds of cars and ambulances riding by all night. My room was changed several times due to an operable room telephone, refrigerator and the apps on the TV did not work. The staff was very accommodating with all issues, but I would never stay there again.
- 5/5
Always a good time at the Canopy!
- 2/5
With check inn we had a staff member who refused to get off her phone during the check in. The overpriced valet parking was always a 10-20min wait. The rooms only get cleaned on request and even then cleaning is subpar. The bar is overpriced. Bar staff is really nice to be far. Overal a horrible experience we left a day early without any refund… everything was better than staying here a night longer!
- 2/5
The room was not stocked--shower soap and conditioner dispensers were empty, they did not supply coffee pods for the in-room machine, no cups supplied, charging outlets did not work, promised items never delivered to room
- 5/5
Everything was very nice. I wished they had a place to buy snacks. Even if it was vending machines.
- 1/5
My vehicle was broken into when I was starting here for my aunts birthday
- 1/5
Upon arrival we noticed that check in was taking a little longer than usual. We arrived to the hotel pretty late. We make it to our room, there were double beds. We reserved this room about a month ago with a king size bed. When I called did we I was told something like we may have overbooked our king size. This is easy and we had to make some changes, but that should not have affected my reservation that I have over a month ago. Secondly, you sent me to the wrong and don’t even tell me. That was not professional and there was no apologies for your errors not ours. Now the room was nice and spacious. This the soap dispenser was broken off the wall. The tissue holder was broken off the wall. There was one roll of tissue that we had for two days we were getting low and I asked that morning at the customer service desk, can we get more tissue? Can we get some body wash which was empty when we got there They said they would take care of it. We left and were gone away from the room all day we come back go to our room. There are our dirty towels on the floor. There was still the same almost gone tissue and the body wash bottle was still on the floor empty so we had to go back downstairs and ask again so to say the least customer service sucked. The hotel was nice. The lobby was nice. The hotel waclean but the room they gave us was like a hand-me-down room which we did not appreciate because that is not what we reserved in the first beginning the helpdesk. No one answered.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, in the downtown area. It’s close to many restaurants and things to do in the city.
- 4/5
Only problem was that the music was loud in the lobby till late and our door didn’t work so they changed our room which resulted in a room with 2 queens instead of the king bed we booked. Both are no biggie to me. Had a lovely time.
- 3/5
We got there an hour and a half early for check in and the lobby had no one in it and it was a Tuesday in memphis. We were not allowed to check in without a fee. So we went out of the hotel to grab lunch and came back ten minutes early and Dawn says to go sit and wait. So we did. Two seperate people came in and she took them as we had to re-wait in line and we waited that time for about 20 minutes as she checked other people in as we were at the desk multiple times and she saw us and told us to take a seat.
- 5/5
I stay here for work when I'm in town and it's a wonderful spot to start and end my day.
- 5/5
Limited dining options for vegetarian diet and limited items in menu weren't even available.
- 5/5
People were so friendly
- 4/5
very nice and good location. Easy walk to Beale Street!
- 2/5
The elevators were out when we checked in, so my wife, children and I had to carry our bags up a flight of stairs. It required 2 trips. My children are 13 and 9.
- 5/5
Nice looking hotel lobby and bar. Restaurant with fresh well prepared food. Late night when kitchen was just closed we asked for just a salad and they said yes and presented very involved salads they spent time creating. That’s service.
- 5/5
Super friendly, helpful staff. Close to wverytging we wanted to see and do this trip. My only negative was not just to them but many of thw doentown businesses: Shovel the snow off the walks keep thoses that are walking safe.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel- unique and elegant. So nice to enjoy room service again!
- 4/5
Everything for a successful stay and very nice and coopertive staff!
- 5/5
Nice
- 1/5
The staff here is HORRIBLE! I can’t speak for everyone that works here, but I will speak on my interactions. I requested housekeeping multiple times and never received the assistance requested. I called the front desk multiple times and requested to speak with a manager multiple times and still received no help. I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay here. We work too hard for our money to receive such disrespect.
- 5/5
The area was close to many attractions downtown. Parking was ok, bc it was off season. The valet Parking made the stay convenient.
- 2/5
The room was dirty and only came with 2 towels for 4 of us. It took over an hour to get extra towels. The A/C sounded like a generator cutting on and kept us up all night long. Would not recommend this stay to anyone
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, clean, comfortable, friendly staff. Will stay again.
- 5/5
Did not even know this hotel was there and it was a very nice place to stay. If you go to the restaurant downstairs, I would suggest trying the muscles with the house salad! It was really good!
