Reviews
The hotel has a great location, close to many attractions and restaurants, with friendly and helpful staff. However, there are frequent issues with the hotel's amenities, particularly with the elevators, ice machines, and hot water. Some guests have also reported cleanliness issues in the rooms and stairwells.

Location was great, walking distance to everything including Beale St. The actual hotel stay was very dissapointing. NO A/C in lobby during multiple 90 degree days. At check in our room was at 75 and it took over 6 hours for it to reach 70! When the a/c was on, it made a loud rattling noise the entire time it ran as well. The "fridge" cant even be called that as it shuts itself off for like 8 hours delay at a time for "energy conservation" so anything you put in there never gets cold. Hot water was hit an miss, room was clean but we had to ask for basic trash/towel service multiple times before it was done. Everything is outdated and worn and needs a major renovation. On our 3rd night the elevators didnt work for over 15 min and we were on the 10th floor. For a Holiday Inn branded hotel it was very dissapointing and we were surprised it was this bad for rhe many we paid it was not worth it. And many guests we talked with during our stay had the same or even worse issues as we did. Not up to a Holiday Inn standard at all. We will not be staying here again when we make a return trip to the Memphis area.

The Bad: Ice machine on our floor wasn't working (or maintained). Worse yet, there was a leak in the bathroom in the floor above us, leading to a flood in our room. The staff was terrific in dealing with it (e.g., comping us a breakfast). This may have been an isolated incident, but combined with the ice machine I'm not quite sure. Overall, I would stay there again.

My first issue when I went to take a shower and there was no hot water. The second issue was when I woke up at 1:30 am and the room was 76 degrees. I called the front desk and explained that the air conditioner wasn’t working in the room. She asked me if I wanted a fan. I were down to the front fest and request a different room for the rest of the night. She did give me a different room. By the time I got back to the room it was 82 degrees in there. We threw our possessions on the cart I got from the lobby and moved to the next room. The rest of the night went well. We got up and checked out at the front desk and left for the trip back home. About an hour later we stopped to get something to eat and she realized she didn’t have her lower denture. She said she probably left them in the first room 1263 when we were in a hurry to go to the next room. I called the front desk and and if they could have someone check the room. She said to call back in a half hour or so and she would have housekeeping check. I’m the meantime we got on the road again and call back later and she confirmed they had the denture and put it in the lost and found then gave me instructions on how to get it sent to my house. I went to the post office and sent a prepaid envelope to the hotel which will be delivered to the hotel on 6/11. I hope that works out. Please call me when it gets shipped. Thank you. Smelled awful. Apparently an ice machine broke and flooded so the carpets were wet. Someone puked in the elevator and nobody cleaned it all night, was still there in the morning. Very expensive for a holiday inn. Would never stay here again.

Nothing. These pictures on Booking.com are VERY outdated. There is not a pool. The hotel has a gutted 4th floor. The stairwells were NOT locked. Some floors had trash and old things stashed in them through the stairwell. I wasn't able to park myself, yet the valet company that is paid to take my car and park it is not responsible for it and then have complete access to my vehicle all night. The very next day, things are missing and in disarray in my car when they brought it back. ONE SINGLE NIGHT VISIT There was construction throughout the hotel. It was not in nice condition. The pool was covered with a deck. Booking did NOT inform us that it was valet parking only. The valet parking stole from my car. They messed up and changed my first name on my reservation, and claim to have not been able to find my car on camera to verify who stole from my car. They also claim to have refunded me the parking fee, which I have not received. They also charged my in-laws and me for my room. My bathroom door would not close. The door was not hung right, The hotel supervisor has not reached out at all regarding the matter, and the Valet company owner, Jarvis, says there is nothing left he can do. Every hotel manager is in a meeting when I call, and their voicemail boxes are full, so I cannot leave a voicemail.

Location We had no hot water we complained to the staff and they simply said yes it’s an old building you have to run the water for a while before it gets hot, we tried running the hot water for 15 minutes but got no joy.

The room was nasty. Carpet stained. The bathroom floor was dirty. The curtains were torn. The sheets had stains on it. Had to get housekeeping to change the sheets. The toilet paper holder was barely hanging on. The hallway by the elevator smelled like feet really bad. There were also nets in our room. I never been to Memphis and this was a horrible stay. Not nothing. When I asked why it's not clean the housekeeper said they were about to start renovation so please be patient. :) :) really

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bed was comfy. We were disappointed that we could not make use of the bar because they do not have a liquor license currently.
- 3/5
Need to wait for hot water 20 minutes to much weed smoke smell.
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
No parking! Valet only! Room was clean but bed was really soft! Staff was great and close to Beale street!
- 3/5
Parking was pretty easy. They have valet only which was fine. The staff were super nice and friendly. Our only issue was the hot water in our room was not working. We were there for only one night so it wasn't a huge problem, but had we been there for longer it would have been a problem. This hotel is directly across from the Peabody ducks and only a 5 minute walk to Beale St. Very convinient location.
- 1/5
The valet was good the lost my keys 3 times the day I checked in. Everyday was a problem finding my keys and I don't know what they was charging to park for. The property air doesn't work and they will offer you a fan to keep cool in the rooms. The ceiling was leaking water. No ice machines or vending machines. Showers molded. A horrible place and their attitudes suck as well. Don't waste your time or money staying there. The experience was garbage!!!!

The hotel hallways were dirty and stained. The door to the hotel room was not able able to deadbolt due to door jam being out of alignment. Security lock was loose. Bathroom was sticky and countertop was coming apart. Hot water took 15 min to warm. Room carpet was stained. Maid did not make bed on days serviced.

The sheets were dirty and clearly not washed. The water took 15 minutes to get lukewarm , I’m not exaggerating. The staff were helpful but for $300 a night I at least expect a clean room at minimum!

I was on the 12th floor for downtown window view but hot ass hell in there n plus just knw no 10/10 for me

The attempted to renovate but the overall effort was little to be desired with big patches in the ceiling and nasty caulking jobs. The valet parking was the only thing nice about this hotel. Look elsewhere.

The room was disgusting
- 3/5
Yes parking was good but the property was not the cleanest
- 2/5
The next room had poor Air Conditioning, it wouldn’t get below 74 degrees the entire stay. The last day there was no hot water for showers. The elevators shook and made a lot of noise. The valet staff were great and very attentive.
- 4/5
The stay was good enough for what we needed it for. The parking situation was a bit confusing at first. You pretty much have to pay for the valet for your car to be close and there when you need it. And just one small area to unload. Our A/C unit it the room wasn’t seeming to work properly. Room was clean. One of the curtains was ripped, and the A/C did quit working at some point during the night and the room reached 80 degrees. We woke up sweating. Was definitely not the nicest Holiday Inn I’ve stayed at. We did like how close it was to plenty of restaurants and Beale St.
- 3/5
Valet parking was great. We did not have a breakfast at the property. Room was nice and it looked clean. Bathroom was very outdated and small.
- 5/5
Parking was excellent
- 5/5
Parking sucks at 35 a day. Hotel not responsible for the car. Nice rooms and close to Beal Street
- 5/5
The parking alot in the deck was pretty safe for my car.
- 1/5
Room was nice but heating unit and hot water did not work, staff gave me and wife another room that wasn’t king size but double bed and did not get good sleep and slept in separate twin beds
- 5/5
Staff was amazing
- 2/5
No on breakfast, cold, no alot of choices Parking was not good, when I made reservations parking was 37dollar it didn't say valet only or I would not have stayed there. I didn't like someone else driving the car, to park it took maybe 1 minute so they had to move the seat and the steering wheel( tilt). The staff the good accept for the check in reserved a king bed,got to the room it was double beds.had to go back down to the front desk so I got a different room, the room was 61degress very cold, heat was not working tried to call front desk phone in room didn't work so had to go back down. They was quick to fix the heat. As for room service first day we told them went we were leaving, second day she knocked on door, told her 30 min. She never came back,
- 1/5
The rooms were not ready at 4 when we showed up. We were told someone would call us when it was ready but an hour later no one had called so we decided to check back in. We got to in the room and the ac had been shut off. It was 95 degrees in the room. We tried to call the front desk but the phone in the room wasn’t even. Connected. We were told maintenance would come check it out while we were gone but hours later we returned to find that nothing had been fixed so we packed up and went back down stairs to request a different room. We were told no rooms were available and offered a full refund. However when Expedia tried to get in contact with them to confirm the refund no one would answer the front desk phones. I wish it was a better experience
- 3/5
Room was dirty and stains on the chair. Hotel was nice downstairs but smelled musty in th room. Breakfast buffet wasn’t included and we picked hotel because it said breakfast was included.
- 1/5
The air was not property, no hot water and no water pressure both stay days.
- 2/5
Parking is chaotic. Valet is the only option for onsite parking. Prices were reasonable for one night.
- 3/5
Allright
- 3/5
It was ok. Showers were poor and restaurant/bar not open. Otherwise was fine.
- 5/5
Parking was easy and very secure
- 1/5
There was no gym. The air conditioner was insufficient and took 12 hours to get the room temp from 78 to 77 degrees. The trim door wouldn’t open unless you threw your body against it with full force. No safety latch or evacuation map on the door. Hot water ran out after 4 minutes. No towels in the entire hotel for 3 days! We had to shower in cold water and dry off with the only two washcloths available. Terrible, run down conditions. Do not stay here!
- 3/5
Our first room had an old thermostat and was blowing heat instead of air. The floor levels were being repaired and very hot! The staff did accommodate us and was fast with making up for everything that went wrong!
- 4/5
Staff and valet were wonderful. Room was very nice and clean. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because its age is beginning to show. Hallways were too dark and elevators were rattling too much.
- 3/5
It’s was ok
- 5/5
Clean room & good staffing. Ac just wasn’t working, blew nothing but heat out
- 3/5
Room was ok; overall, the hotel looked a little tired and like it's not been kept up to date
- 5/5
Location.
- 3/5
The room was a mix of updated furniture, but older walls and shower. The bathroom had peeling wallpaper and stained ceiling panels. The carpet was stained and the room was missing the room number sign. Parking was $37 per night, which was much higher than other garages around.
- 3/5
Nice view it’s wasn’t that bad
- 4/5
Everything was great from service, clean room, no long wait time to be check in!

i enjoyed the room, no issues.

It was a good stay.
- 1/5
The first room apparently had not been cleaned, the bed was not made, the linen from the bed had been thrown in the chair, there was urine in the toilet, the soap dish was just thrown in the sink. I went back to the desk before leaving to go eat and informed the attendant, she asked if I was saying the room was not clean and I said yes it couldn't have been, she then asked if I wanted the linen, but I said no because I paid for a room that should have been up to par. she contacted someone to get the room taken care of and I left the hotel to go eat dinner. Upon arriving back the attendant told me they moved to a new room because there were issues with that room. 2nd room- No heat, it's a negative 1 outside, no hot water, the remote did not work for the TV, by this time it's close to 1:00a.m., we just suffered thru it until we could get up and go home, that room gfelt like outdoors, when you turned the heater on it sounded like a generator running, the thermostat looked like it was born the same year I was 1972, after letting it run for about 45 mins nothing but cold air came out, the water, I let it run for 30 minutes, it never heated up. Miserable was an understatement, I had to put my coat on top of the covers and we tried to sleep basiclly glued to each other, which is why I'm just now voicing my complaints, I had to get home and get warm and sleep most of yesterday, and then they only do valet parking which was $30 for a piss poor stay. I want All my money back!
- 3/5
The fridge in the room was not working. It was leaking water. The ice machine machine down the hall wasn’t working and we had to have a maintenance person come in to get the heat started.
- 1/5
Want all guest to pay $30 for valet parking, no staff was even at the front desk had to wait for valet workers to call her then unnecessary attitude. Never again
- 3/5
We stayed here for the Blues challenge and the best thing about the hotel was the location close to Beale street. Small room, no tv on the first day and no room cleaning on the second. The luggage cart had a flat tire when we arrived and it was still flat 4 days later when we left. We will not be coming back.

Valet parking was great. Check in was good. Staff was great. Room was hot. Had to switch rooms. New room had problems too with coffee pot not working, refrigerator leaking onto floor and several ceiling tiles missing in bathroom. Beds were comfortable and downtown location was great
- 5/5
Staff was awesome. Room was spotless. Had a little trouble with our hot water but it was a quick fix. Was not expecting to have to pay $30 plus tax for parking tho
- 2/5
They advertise "Free Breakfast" on Expedia. Really it costs a healthy amount per person per morning. There is a woman who "runs" the fake free breakfast area and she will rudely stop you and literally yell at you if you even walk in there. The lighting in the halls is dark and not safe. Wallpaper torn from the walls in some cases. Limited hot water and heating/cooling that worked. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!!! I will no longer be using Expedia anymore since they allow a property like this on their sit as an offering.
- 3/5
room was in good conditions. staff was prompt in responding to needs during stay.
- 3/5
Everyone was super nice made us feel welcome. The room is a bit rundown. However for the price and location perfect for us.
- 3/5
The parking was $30.00 per day. Valet only !!
- 3/5
It was fine, not terrible, but also not great. Valet folks were super nice and fast. Both drop off and leaving both went smoothly. Front desk kept my passport and credit card and told me over and over that they gave it back. I said no, it's not in my bag. She said then it must be in a pocket or something. I said no. I was holding up the line but I couldn't leave my things. Finally she gave them back to me but didn't apologize. I was so stressed out.
- 2/5
The hallway leading to my room smelled like smoke-
- 2/5
The air conditioning did not work. Thermostat was on 60 and the room temperature was 79/80 degrees. We were moved to another room for the second night and it wasn’t much better. We burned up all night both nights.
- 4/5
Over all good but the door on our room had problems closing and issues with the A/C
- 2/5
No valet parking. Keys had to be uploaded every day. No restaurant in hotel
- 1/5
The hotel parking garage was destroyed and couldn't park but luckily there weren't many people there, so we parked by the door, and they comped the parking charge. The TVs in the hotel weren't working, the AC wasn't working so they put fans in each room which didn't help much at all and we didn't get a refund or discount. Brown toilet water the entire time and black bugs came out of the tub faucet each time.
- 1/5
Turned up at the hotel to find it had been closed for 3 months. Hotel.com did not inform us. Had to find somewhere else to atay.
- 1/5
bad experience with managers and staff
- 1/5
The hotel was closed upon arrival. I was not notified through hotels.com
- 1/5
The hotel cancelled our reservation because the HVAC wasn't working. Expedia still has not refunded me and I can't reach a human over the phone to cancel. Inexcusable on all accounts.
- 1/5
Took a full day and multiple texts and phone calls to get a refund. Communication could have avoided all of this!!
- 1/5
I arrived to check in, to find out that the hotel had been closed down because their AC wasn’t working and they were sending guests to other hotels. I was not notified of this, although they claim they did … So i was turned away with no recourse to find another hotel for three nights, after flying in to town and expecting to have a hotel to actually stay at.
- 1/5
Hotel called me the day before checkin to cancel our two day reservation. I understand the circumstance's were beyond their control. I was able to find a different hotel for a higher price due to it being last minute a little further from Beale St that I had to pay for at checkin. Problem is now it has been five days since they canceled my reservation and they still have not refunded my money.
- 1/5
Was closed on arrival, never notified me, everything nearby sold out.
- 1/5
No AC, no breakfast, though I have paid for it, didn’t tell me a head of time that they didn’t not have ac and breakfast, they just told me the horrer story upon arrival, they offered fans and if you don’t like that, the third party will refund your money, I had no choice but to stay, because the alternative is double what I have paid months ago, this is immoral and deceptive practices!
- 3/5
AC was inoperrative , some of eminities were not available , fitness room needs attention
- 4/5
The only issue I had was the AC wasnt working during our stay so it was hot. However, the staff did let us know of the issue on arrival and let people choose whether they wanted to stay. We were only there for one night so we toughed it out. Our stay was pleasant otherwise, and if we are ever in town for a Grizz game I would book here again.
- 1/5
Hotel in complete disrepair. No AC, 1 of 3 elevators operational and the lights didn't work in that one. Skeleton staff doing the best they could, but place should be closed by corporation until they can bring it up to standard. The list of what is wrong this place is endless.
- 3/5
Unfortunately the AC was broken during my stay, they did offer a fan tho.. the pictures aren’t really accurate but overall it was a good stay. Would stay again
- 2/5
Never checked in. The air conditioning was out of service (for months) and we were not notified in advance, by either hotels.com or the hotel. We ended up canceling the reservation and paying more to stay at another hotel, which was very inconsiderate and inconvenient. The front desk worker was kind and courteous.
- 1/5
The air conditioning was out and they didn’t notify me or give me an opportunity to refund my stay
- 3/5
Close to the game
- 1/5
I ended up not staying here due to the fact there was no air conditioning at the facility at all. I was not informed ahead of time and I’m still waiting on a refund and it’s been 5 days.
- 1/5
The property didn't have air in the whole building and started i could get a full refund on both rooms free from cancelation but they are giving me the run around about my money!!! Because they cancelation free went up everyday even after the general manager told them they didn't have air and it wasn't my fault and i should get a paid in full refund but they didn't give me any of my money!! They kept all 9 hundred and something dollars!! I will never ever deal with them again
- 2/5
The next morning, we learned that the chef didn't show up, so the breakfast we counted on was not available. No coupon or voucher for elsewhere was offered or available. That was disappointment on top of the AC disappointment. That said, we found out upon checkout that some of the room charge was credited. If not for that, I don't know that I'd bother with a Holiday Inn again, but that acknowledgement of our disappintment keeps this chain in play for me going forward. However, I probably would not stay at this particular hotel again based on these oddities. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and tried (within their limited powers) to accommodate us. Particularly awesome was Henry, the man in charge of valet during our stay. He was a rock star.
- 1/5
The employees were great super nice and the only reason we staid.
- 1/5
The Hotels AC was down throughout the building. The staff was great! Did not stay.
- 1/5
When I checked in there was no air conditioning, no lights in the elevator and when I wanted to take a shower there was no hot water. I was only staying one night because I was just passing through on a long road trip and the main reason for me to stop is to be able to take a shower. Nobody did anything to compensate me including Hotels.com
- 3/5
When we arrived to check in we were informed the air conditioning was out. The did let us check out our room first before we decided to stay or not. We ended up staying as we had just driven 10 hours. They did provide a fan. They did not mention all but 2 of the 3 elevators were out of order and the 1 that was working only had emergency lighting inside. Then when it came to morning and taking showers, there was no hot water at all. Also ice makers were only working on certain floors. Other than that, I guess bed was fine and room was clean. $30 for parking was a bit steep. I’d definitely call this hotel first before booking to make sure they aren’t having issues. Holiday Inns are usually a safe bet.
- 1/5
Horrible! No hot water or AC. Apparently they hadn’t had hot water for several days but didn’t notify us until we were checking in. So we couldn’t make alternate arrangements and were stuck there. Dirty towels in room, lights in elevator burnt out, no wifi in room. This place was beyond disappointing.
- 1/5
This was the worst experience at a hotel. Other than the staff which was great. When we got to the hotel the staff checking us in told us the ac was not working and to go check the room. Then a guy who I found out was the owner of the place said oh no we got that fixed so we decided to stay… worst mistake we made on our trip. We got to the room that night and we found out in fact the ac had not been fixed. So in fact the owner lied to our face. He then told the manager that the front desk was turning away customers which in fact she was doing her job very well. What a POS! Then the next morning after making it though the night we go to shower and there is no hot water. Even if they fix the issues I will never stay here again! And they charged us full price for the night!!!! Holiday in lost a customer here all because of a crappy owner!! And the room my friend stayed in hadn’t been cleaned before from the guy that had checked out cause of the same issues we had. On a positive note it gave us an opportunity to stay at Neopolean which is just around the corner it’s an older place but the staff and place were friendly and nice. I told them they should hire the front desk clerk from holiday inn. Do not stay here!!! We wondered why it seemed like we were the only ones in the hotel. Even the bar was closed down…
- 1/5
Very hot room was 93 degrees
- 2/5
The staff was very nice and helpful at check in. The property is poorly maintained. Besides outdated rooms with chipped furniture, the air conditioning wasn’t working. It was 82 degrees in our room all night. I suspect that was not a new development because there was a box fan in the room when we arrived. Also, there were no functioning lights in the one working elevator until someone stuck a puck light up, providing minimal lighting. It would have been nice if these things had been mentioned at check in.
- 1/5
When we arrive to the hotel, there was no hot water or air-conditioning in the place was unbelievable. I didn’t even receive a refund.
- 1/5
Our stay was not very good. Air conditioning was out. The room was 96 degrees. The hot water did not work so we had to take a freezing cold shower. Only one elevator was in working order. The staff was powerless to do anything as the situation was out of their control. Unfortunately, this was the worst stay I’ve experienced in my life.
- 2/5
All outlets were broken mostly. Boiler was broken at the time of visit so no hot water even with 20 degree and below weather.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and valet! Comfy beds. Close to Beale Street
- 5/5
It was easy checking in. The heat didnt work in our room. I was charged twice on my card

The ac broke down so all there was was a box fan. They couldn’t get m checked in rv though I booked and paid before I arrived

The Peabody is a unique hotel for more reasons than just the fantastic live ducks in the fountain. From the classic wall built phone booths to the giant golden dog statues, there is something fun to discover everyone you look.
- 3/5
This hotel is conveniently located a few blocks from Beale St. It offers comfortable accommodations for a reasonable price.
- 5/5
There were some issues outside of the staff's control and they were superb, friendly and helpful.
- 1/5
Absolute miserable the hotel room was 88 degrees. They said “ sorry” were trying to get it fixed. They gave us a box fan. Only got the room down to 85 degrees. All rooms were like this. Also had a smoke detector chirping and the maintenance man didn’t know how to fix it. He put the batteries in wrong. We had to fix it ourselves.
- 2/5
Staff was very helpful but seemed severely under sraffed as a whole.

Do not recommend booking through Expedia not staying at this hotel.

You have to pay $30 for parking. On the website it says free parking

The housekeeping was atrocious. Smears all over mirror in bedroom area. Toilet lid did not fit and the toilet only flushed if you held the handle down while it flushed. The sink was missing a drain plug and water went all over the counter top if you didn't run it full blast. Shower was difficult to operate and it took a long time to get hot water. We only asked for bath towels / washcloths when housekeeping came by on Sat and they did not have ANY towels. We had to get the front desk to get us towels and it was after 8PM when we got them. The phone in the room did not work (so we couldn't call for towels and had to go down to desk to ask for them.) I understand that the hotel was full but there's no excuse for charging what they charge and to have this abysmal housekeeping.

The BUSIEST weekend of the year for Memphis, the St Jude Marathon, which is we were visiting; we get in line for check-in and the line is filled with angry and exhausted patrons. We are given keys to a room, only to find the room is actually occupied and we walked in on a family - absolutely horrible encounter. We go back to reception and once again join the line. We are finally given a new room assignment. We are cautiously optimistic considering we have now been told the vote is overbooked and they are doing the best they can. Meanwhile every other hotel in Memphis is completely booked due to the race. We enter the newly assigned room and while there were thankfully no other families already occupying said room, we notice the room is more than a bit toasty. I check the thermostat and the room temp is 85*. I call for maintenance. While waiting for maintenance, I discover that we have running water intermittently. I’m told by others in the floor that there is brown water at times and that the building owner knows of the hvac and water issues but cannot afford the repairs. When I booked this reservation the hotel had a very good rating, but in the past couple months this rating has dropped significantly due to these issues. So the building owner has been neglecting necessary repairs for at least 2 months knowing that this weekend was going to be full capacity. To make matters even worse, we found mouse droppings in the bathroom on almost every surface.

Our roo did not have adequate heat 57 degrees . Lukewarm water for shower

We did not stay at the hotel only because the air conditioning was not working!!
- 1/5
Air conditioner was out in the whole hotel so we had to cancel
- 1/5
Dirty carpet & patched up paintwork. Over $200 dollars for a night place needs a total refit as everything does not work. Bar was cloced & ac did not work. I would recommend staying elsewhere.
- 3/5
The staff was great. It would have been a great stay only if there had been air conditioning, a place to dine as stated in the reservation. I should have been notified in advanced of me coming that the hotel had problems. as far as cleanliness, the rugs needs to be shampooed.
- 1/5
Broken pipe in bathroom, got moved. Then was told no AC in hotel. Got 2 fans but it was never cooler than 78. Second morning there was no hot water. Gave up, checked in out day early. They literally cancelled all arrivals and were shutting hotel down. No housekeeping the 2 days we were there. Staff was very helpful and doing their best in an awful situation

My booking was cancelled. Got no information not from the hotel, not from hotels.com. Had to find another place to stay in the middle of the night. Still no reply from hotels.com regarding my lost payment.

We were turned away and redirected to another hotel in the area. I was not notified in advance that the property was closed for a few weeks when I booked the stay. Poor customer service.

Friendly staff

This was our second time to stay on this property with out hot water. The room phone didn’t work. No soap or shampoo. Worst stay and we have stayed here many times.

Every thing was so convenient, didn’t need to drive.

But the front desk personnel and the valet service was excellent

This was the filthiest hotel I have ever stayed! They said that a pipe burst the day that we got there, and that was why the smell made us gag, but we later found out that that pipe had burst 5 months earlier, and that’s why the smell was unbearable, and the staff were lying, while at the same time, spraying fragrance into the MOLD that had began to grow on the 14th floor where we were located. There was no WiFi for any of the days that we were there. They said that there wasn’t enough people to check into the hotel, so the breakfast that my sisters, their children, and the rest of my family paid for, wasn’t available. The a/c was broken, so it was UNBELIEVABLY cold in the room, and when you turned on the heater, IT WAS COLDER! All of this, and more, was reported to the “manager”, Danielle, and after she stopped lying about it, she agreed to reimburse half of the stay, and I’d pay for the other half, only for me to get home, and they reversed the charges, and said that she no longer worked there, and they would no longer honor what she agreed to. My daughter has severe asthma, and we stayed amongst mold, stink, and severe filth, because we had nowhere else to go, and after they acknowledged their grave shortcomings, and attempted to rectify them, they reneged. NEVER AGAIN! Their manager is the worst, and an incessant LIAR! Stay clear of this DUMP!!!

a/c was not working properly

For a downtown property, it was awesome. Loved walking the blocks and seeing all the music history. Great food and great atmosphere. Will stay again.

Convent to get off and on highway

I don’t think we’d come back. We didn’t have enough towels. Checked with front desk and woman told us they were out. Everyone was using them as it was so hot out. A kind gentleman was able to run some up shortly after. Just seemed dated and a bit run down. We didn’t venture out at night as it was a little seedy along one of the streets to the side.

Nice hotel and my 3rd visit/stay here. Great location. All staff were very nice and accommodating.
- 5/5
It was good
- 3/5
I stay at this hotel frequently when i come to town. This rime my stay was not good. I reported 2 times that i had no hot water. Nothing changed. Next i had to keep my medicine in the refrigerator. Reported 2 times about it only staying on 2 hours at a time. Nothing done. My room # was 562
- 4/5
The property outside the area. Noisy, cracked sidewalks, Homelessness.
- 2/5
Had to switch rooms cause A/c did not work. Took 45 minutes to get checked in. 2 of 3 elevators did not work. Had to wait 30 minutes just to get up to room. The Valet was the only good part of the trip.
- 5/5
We were just there one night, but it was perfect. We were there for a concert at the FedEx forum and the location was superb. Only complaints were that there was only one ice machine and only one elevator that was working. Will stay again.
- 5/5
Very clean, excellent breakfast
- 2/5
2 elevators were out Had to take the stairwell from parking to lobby and it was very dirty. Took the stairway a second time ( this time from the 5th floor) 3rd floor door was propped open ( these a card reader doors ) for security I presume The stairwell was dirty The room was clean and stocked satisfactory The bathtub is slick and I had to put a towel in it to keep from slipping and falling. Bed is comfortable I would likely not book here again , I would try another hotel near here first
- 3/5
Staff were wonderful except for in the restaurant. The hotel needs serious repair. Only one of three elevators were in working condition. Great location though. Close to everything!

Everything was so beautiful and staff very nice and awesome :)

The staff was excellent. They were so friendly and helpful in providing information for the area.

Rather not say

I am not one to write an negative review but I want to save someone the trouble of staying here. The hotel is filthy. Our first room had chewed up sunflower seeds, hair and dirt all over the floor. The bathtub was gross and stained. We requested a second room hoping we just got a bad room. The second room floor was also disgusting. Stained carpet, hair, etc. The smell was absolutely awful. We have never left a hotel after checking in but we left this one and booked somewhere else. Staff did not seem surprised we were leaving and definitely didn't try to make it right.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left everyone was friendly, very helpful and so kind. We enjoyed our stay & would stay here again.
- 3/5
Property had problem with hot water source. On the day of checking in, we could not take showers because it was too cold.
- 5/5
It was the most friendliest and relaxing place to stay.
- 3/5
The staff was great and valets were really friendly and great with my vehicle. The room could have been a little cleaner. The floor needed vacuuming and toilet cleaned better but overall decent. The bed was soft and comfy. My only real complaint was the street noise vehicles screeching tires and revving their engines until 3:00 am. If you’re a light sleeper request a room away from Second St. Other than that great place and friendly employees.
- 4/5
Only negative is the ice machines we down our 4 day stay
- 3/5
The phone in our room didn't work. We only had cold water for most of the stay (no hot). The lock was installed upside-down so that didn't work. The microwave was missing. But the worst part was the drag races going around the block from around 5:00 pm until around 3:00 am. We just got home, exhausted from all the noise. We have stayed here in the past, but never again.
- 1/5
The valet/concierge Excellent. Breakfast service and foodservice staff Excellent. That is all. The disgusting people sitting on their useless posteriors who are tasked with the "overwhelming" responsibility of checking in quests should all be fired immediately.
- 3/5
The housekeeping staff were extremely nice. The location was perfect and within distance for everything we wantednto do. The ice machine did not work on my floor (11th). Following directions to go on 5th or 14th floor, left me just as frustrated due to those machines not working either. I had to go to bar to get ice. Furthermore, the shower continually dripped and stopped when it was ready (1168).

Upon arrival the property appeared to be like the average Holiday Inn Express. However, there was no hot water the first night and half of the second day of stay. The toilet paper holder was an unsanitary and unaccpetable block of wood with a piece of unstable metal screwed in that did not hold the paper steady and constantly fell to the floor. The ice makers did not work. NONE of them on every floor even after checking the floors that I was directed to after reading a note left on the ice maker on the 10th floor. The room was not cleaned, especially the bathroom floor. IHG claims to deliver True Hospitality for Good, every day. I have never had an experience like the I just had with my two young daughters this week. Very disappointed and would not ever visit again. The valet were quick and friendly.

Nice place what highly recommend
- 3/5
The staff was wonderful. I enjoyed talking to them, especially Rose (I think that's her name). I got there early, and was told there was no early check-in. No problem, I totally understand. But when the 3:00 check in time came, I was told I had to wait as there was a shift change! It was almost 1/2 hour later before I could check in. Why have a check in time at 3:00 and a shift change? This was a little annoying.
- 4/5
Could use a little upgrading but otherwise fine. The shower and wash basin water temperature were stuck on very hot (no cold water) and I could not change it, which was inconvenient.
- 5/5
Everything within walking distance to activity we were attendend.
- 1/5
not hot water had to change rooms, then came back later that day to NO HEAT. staff great facility needs a lot of TLC

My overall experience wasn’t too pleasant! First I was charged a $200 deposit for the room, had a confirmation saying my balance was a little over $500 to be paid at check in! Holiday Inn had NO record of it. I showed them the email, and they said they nothing to do with the third party booking. I subsequently had to pay the full amount for room which was over $800 and paid a $200 deposit for nothing. I’d appreciate if someone from Hotels.Com can give me some feedback on why this happened!

Was nice being close to Beale street and FedExForum.
- 3/5
The hotel is located in the center of downtown. It is easy to access a variety of restaurants and short walk to Beale street and the FedEx forum. Although there were many positive at the end of our stay a charge was added to our account that was clearly not ours. It was removed but not until I brought my husband inside to tell the clerk that he had not purchased anything. Not a big deal - but the tone was accusatory and was a bad way to end our stay. The hotel is dated but met our needs
- 4/5
The ice machines were down we went to the bar to ask for ice, the lady at the bar had a terrible attitude about giving us ice. Our room was paid in full before we arrived. I’m not very happy with our stay this time. This is the first time we’ve ever been treated this way by the Holiday Inn.
- 5/5
Great stay and very convenient for location.

First room the heat was blowing and wouldn’t turn off room was so hot!! Then nothing but scalding hot water to even shower in! A friend had the same water problem but cold water and nothing else in shower!!! Will never stay again
- 1/5
No hot water (cold shower only) No air conditioning (stuck on 90 degree heating)
- 2/5
No heating

Our towels smelled like mold and when we arrived, the toilet had been used, not flushed, and not cleaned. I’m incredibly disappointed at the state of our room and traveling with 2 young kids, the cleanliness made it unhygienic for them.

First Room - DARK BROWN water came out of the sink then the sink wouldnt drain - the water came straight out of the water in the shower instead of the shower head. Called front desk - moved us to a second room - 2nd room - NO AC- room was 88* turned ac down and gave it an hour - still blew hot air. Called front desk - they were going to send maintenance up.... While waiting on maintenance, we saw what I can only assume was bed bugs on the bed - I ABOUT DIED! Never have I ever. We grabbed our stuff and went down to the desk again, the staff was nice and tried to move us to another room quickly - but we were pretty much done by this point. 3rd room was better - but the AC went out on night 2 and we didnt have hot water for the first 2 nights. Checked the bed very closely for bugs - seemed to be fine - but really put a damper on our weekend getaway. The staff was nice but this hotel realllllly needs some help. Save your time, money, and sanity - book somewhere else.
