Reviews
The hotel reviews indicate a general sentiment of dissatisfaction, with many guests expressing disappointment in the cleanliness and condition of the rooms. The majority of reviews highlight issues with the beds, bathrooms, and overall cleanliness of the hotel.
- Close proximity to fairgrounds and restaurants
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Uncomfortable beds and old pillows
- Dirty rooms and bathrooms, including stained sheets and carpets, missing toilet paper, and broken fixtures
- 3/5
Nothing fancy. No maid service. Sort of clean. No bed bugs. Definitely a 2 star.

Clean room very friendly staff . Very good location for my work . I will come again . Thank you Fairground.

Would not recommend

Dirty room tv didn't work staff was not helpful and very unpleasant worst place to stay ever a lot of bad activities going on there
- 3/5
Only cheap place in the area, you pay for what you get. Overall the stay was decent, the bedding was clean and comfortable and the towels were nice. The bathroom was not clean, toilet ran constantly, the sink drained slower than slow. If you are a light sleep the train is very close, would not recommend. Otherwise, if you’re on a budget and not overly picky then it will work.

They offered the only available room for the night and said they would put us in a ground floor room in the morning. The room they offered was upstairs, so it was difficult and painful for her to get up the stairs. Once in the room at 3AM, it was filthy, smelled awful and the floor carpet was stained badly. The next day we were moved to a ground level room. It was better, but still dirty/ stained carpet,as well as splatters of something on the bathroom walls behind the door. During the second night stay, my sister got up to use the bathroom and water was dripping from the ceiling vent cover and she nearly slipped and fell on the wet floor. That only happened once,so I really don't know what the cause was, perhaps an overflowing upstairs bathtub. Overall our stay was fine, it was fairly quiet, but trains do travel right behind the property. The property was outdated, needs a remodel and lots of repairs. We won't stay there again, next year, during our festival at Evergreen Fairgrounds.

Location to our event. Parking was adequate, but not great. Sticky and warped carpeting, no housekeeping, dirty floor when we got there, broken lock on the door, poorly maintained rooms, dangerous boards sticking out from under the bed.
- 2/5
This place is definitely a cheap motel. Not very clean. Curtains were dirty and stained. The bedspread was very old and stained. There was no blanket underneath so you are stuck with it for a blanket. You can hear everything outside your room. The backside is a U-Haul lot.
- 2/5
Parking wasn’t so hood
- 3/5
The young man working the desk was very kind and positive The bed was very hard. There were holes in the bathroom door. The shower faucet was partially apart from the wall. There were only two flatish pillows. The only blanket was a too warm duvet.
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
It was all good
- 5/5
Room clean front desk very helpful. Good parking for guest . I enjoyed my stay at fairgrounds
- 4/5
Staff was nice, room was ok, bed was comfy, train was LOUD, people are property were questionable, parking was strange do to U-Haul they also rent out of there. It was okay for the price would stay again if passing through.

The property was extremely dirty had not been picked up garbage all over unpainted rickety stairs. My room had before bugs in it and floor made my white socks black. I've buckets from the 70s with no lines and stained inside I saw no ice machine. My door had been kicked in entire door was unsafe had to call maintaining for that as well as TV did not work so maintenance brought another older smaller TV to use.i went to put water bottles in freezer there was food in there so they aren't being cleaned microwave was already 30 years old I did not open m the entire place have me the creeps. I was released from a hospital and was told by the hospital nursing staff this was reasonably priced place to stay and from photos on Expedia the place looks freshly painted with great breakfast bar ... that was 20 years ago maybe!!! It looks NOTHING like this right now. I am from Wenatchee and it being memorial weekend and me stuck there with no car had no choice but to stay I asked janitor to get me fresh sheets and surreptitiously on them sitting up on the couch. It was truly gross DO NOT stay there! I am calling health department about bed bugsI have photos of them evident on the bed it was horrible place and unsure the window can be kicked in and the curtains did not close properly I had to use a hair clip to close them for privacy!
- 4/5
Despite all this, the stay wasn't bad. Place was quiet. The sheets under the comforter were clean. Bathroom was servicably clean. There was one train that passed by, but being a frequent visitor to the U.K, I find train noise relaxing. NO bed bugs, (or any other type of vermin), which is a big bugaboo of mine. For $40 a night, I'd stay there again.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay . I will come back qgain

Beds so hard we had a very restless night
- 0.5/5
The shower filled up while you were taking a shower did not drain properly. The sink had a big hole in it. You couldn’t watch anything on the TV cause it needed a prescription for everything you needed. The fridge did not work.

great place to stay while attending the monroe car swap
- 3/5
Pet Friendly room and the room smelled fresh. The property was very basic; 20 yrs ago it would have cost $49 for a room. Micro and fridge was plus for multi day stay. No coffee maker in room. TV and cable worked great, bed comfy. Great water pressure and hot water in shower. Vanity sink very slow to drain, faucet handles touchy for turning off flow. Room was clean. Property also used as UHaul dealer so rear lot was packed Sunday night with trucks. The outside area near building was relatively clean, albeit from smokers who continue to throw butts into the lava rock instead of an ashtray. The rear lot treeline is full of loose trash; unsafe to walk dogs there. I used grassy area in front of building for my pets. Hope you enjoy the sound of trains….about 50 yds from rear side of building are the tracks and they run every 2-3 hours all through the night. Your options are limited unless you don’t mind spending $200 per night for rooms elsewhere. If you can deal with no frills, this is it.
- 1/5
The tub wouldn’t drain due to ALL, the hair in the drain. The amount of hair and the shower walls was unsettling. The carpet was filthy and my husband and I wore our socks the entire time. I pulled the bedding back to get into bed and the sheets were stained. I put down my travel blanket to sleep on. The parking lot was disgraceful. The amount of cigarettes, thrown everywhere. We will never stay there again. Scary dirty.
- 3.5/5
Cleaner surfaces in the room. Tabletops & floors somewhat sticky.

- 2/5
Poor water pressure. Stains on carpet. Poor lighting. Made due with what we had
- 2/5
The property is poorly maintained. Might not be dirty, but feels crummy. Super thin sheets, cheap uncomfortable mattress, no glasses or cups in the room, but available in the office. Worn and frayed carpet. Shower didn't work, no way to turn it on. We only stayed because it was convenient to the fairgrounds. Would not recommend if you are looking for a nice room. 😕
- 4/5
Ok

I enjoyed stay in this motel. The room is cleaned only the sink is not arranged and unsecured by the maintenance it's not steady it's moved When you washed inside the sink. It's a safe place to stay the front desk always nice to customers. It's a good place to stay it's close to everything you need .
- 1.5/5
The rooms were not anything close to the picture. Looked like the were dog pee stains or some kind of stains on the floor. The cleanliness of the rooms was not good at all.

Staff was super nice and location was convenient Bed was old and lumpy. Floor was filthy. TV was tiny. Being right on the main Hwy it was very loud. Overpriced considering other establishments are nicer and charge less.

It is not the Hotels fault - but 150 feet back is the BNSF / Amtrak train track and you brtween 2 major intersections so load trains blowing their whistles at all hours makes it hard to get a good nights sleep - try and get rooms on the front hwy 2 side it is a little better

I don’t usually leave reviews but I chose to leave this place and find another hotel because of how unclean and uncomfortable it was. Sticky floors, stains on the bed, big spiders, the single use cups were used and dirty, hole in the wall, smelled awful. I was there for all of 20 minutes and scrambled to find another place and left. Please save yourself the money and time!
- 4/5
What i expected. Been staying there for 20 years for fair and homeshows.
- 4/5
It’s looking better and better as improvements continue!!! Keep up the great work!!!!! Not so much a didn’t like but a suggestion. You might want to look at putting non skid on the bath tub as felt a little slicker then one would think when wet
- 4/5
Breakfast is not as good as portrayed.
- 5/5
This room is clean smell very good . I'm happy to come again. Thank you fairgrounds
- 1.5/5
Location, near the fairgrounds All in all, very dirty, you can tell they do the bare minimum. Shower was very dirty, sink took a long time to drain because of grime, bed was horrible, sheets had a couple of holes, tv was tiny. It was also very loud.

Yes
- 2.5/5
I like some of the stuff they were helpful and informative but there was one staff member there that wasn't really working with what I had already booked and yes they did compensate and upgraded the one of the rooms but it was still an inconvenience of what I was trying to do When I requested a rooms that was side by sorry it was told there is confirmed and available but then when I arrived it was not side by side rooms and then one of the rooms that they gave me the bed was not comfortable nor properly assembled and the toilet was constantly running
- 2/5
It was a room to sleep in close to town ,I’ll say that ! Mold in bathroom and holes in doors. Got us through the night .
- 1/5
The room was so filthy. Bathroom floors and sink faucet were never touched. Wads of hair, bottle caps behind toilet room door. dust on shelves,tv remotes. Fridge leaking water on carpet. Smoke detector missing. DO NOT BOOk HERE
- 4/5
If you lower your expectations then you’ll be ok. Room was clean. Plenty of parking. Price was good. On the other hand, the TV never worked and the toilet leaked. But, yeah, I’d stay there again.
- 2/5
Light and cold air coming under the door, had to block it with a towel. Bathroom adhesive tiles had water under them.
- 1/5
Cold. Heater wouldnt work Could see out between door and wall Black hair all over bathroom Super noisy next to road

very basic clean room. minor issues

Everything is ok

**** Pleased be advise the Freight train runs thru the back of the MOTEL (It's not a Hotel)..several times a day and at Night (past midnight, to the various times 3am,5am,6 am) you can REALLY feel the ground shake for several minutes. Bring ear plugs PLEASE ***** On our last night (Finally) the Next door unit (we are both ground level) BAD argument inside the Next door motel Room, Swearing, Fighting, Slamming of the door. This lasted from 1:00am to 2:00 am. NO Respect to other MOTEL guests. The motel residence were local Flood relief/displacement Monroe Residences. They were not thinking of Motel quest and other local/Monroe Flood Victims staying in the Motel at the 2nd floor to several units or some motel doors away or nearby. Breakfast bad because by 9am.. all the food is gone as it's starts at 6am. A local Flood victim motel guest says it's not fair that right at 6am, someone or several guest comes in at 6:0am and walks out with several Breakfast plates of food stacked high and takes most of the breakfast food away. The picture you see is nothing like what it is. I would like a refund or something from Expedia. Too bad the staff has to deal with the complaints from other Motel Guests (Past and Future).
- 4/5
I checked in, slept and checked out. every thing was fine
- 5/5
It was good
- 5/5
Clean room, access to amenities
- 5/5
Very clean room and friendly staff.
- 1/5
I had two room the first one was dirty under the sheets there was hair on sheets I sleep on top of covers freezing at night and blood stains on side of mattress. I rented an other room very clean but no toilet paper I do rate second room good. Just no toilet paper. lol ☹️ because I didn’t get a rental car I had to make the best of it.
- 3/5
This Property need service. The Heater in our room was broken. the bathroom light you could see through the ceiling around the edges of the light. When I asked questions on where things where the staff did not know things were.
- 1/5
Rats everywhere and my service dog chased one out of our room which upon reporting it i was called a liar and told to leave. Im disabled and have a 4 yr old son. I've never been treated so badly.
- 1/5
They have a rat infestation that they do nothing about. When i teported my service animal chasing one out of my room i was called a liar and threatened with police as i didnt stop to take a picture of said rat as i was to concerned with getting it out of my room. I have a 4 yr old child and im disabled this could've been much worse.
- 1/5
Outside running over your feet is bad but when they are sharing your room thats unacceptable.
- 5/5
If you'd like to share your room with rats this is the place to be.
- 2/5
Motel is old and very run down. Definitely not worth $94, more what you’d expect if you paid $64. My pics don’t match the advertised pics that’s for sure
- 1/5
The room was not good
- 5/5
Clean room but the outside the building is not clean
- 4/5
Coffee didnt taste all that great.
- 2/5
Right next to train tracks, enough said. It’s the cheapest option though so it did the trick.
- 1/5
It was so BAD we couldn’t stay there. It took hours then having dinner to help clean the back of my throat. Oh wasn’t going to mention the dead rat and garbage outside the door.
- 5/5
Property is pet friendly and very nice.
- 3/5
I stayed here because I needed a place since where I lived was having water/well issues. It was very inexpensive and gave me a place to shower. That’s what I needed. The place wasn’t that clean… my room had a lot of fruit flies that I could not find out where they came from. The floor wasn’t clean, the bottom of my feet would get instantly dirty when I removed my shoes. The food was the very nice person at the front desk! The bed only had the sheets and a comforter - no blanket… the person at the desk gave me and awesome thick blanket that made the bed comfortable. Outside was alright, except the pile up of trash at all the garbage cans over the weekend. I was there for 6 nights. I guess if you want your room cleaned during the time you stay, you have to request it. My room was never touched. First time at a hotel that did that.
- 2/5
Conditions of the room were less than acceptable. Counter tops had food on them, water pressure was low, faucet leaked and black hairs in the shower.
- 5/5
Free washing laundry free snack
- 4/5
spacious room, easy parking
- 5/5
The staff was amazing, I was able to get a late checkout and breakfast. Would stay there again
- 3/5
It was a bit loud for me, but a great value for the area.
- 2/5
Dirty outdated rooms.Fridge had old food from previous guest's
- 1/5
Oh boy, I have never bailed on a hotel/motel in my entire life until now. I have stayed in old, out-of-date, and rustic places before, and that's all fine, but this place has problems. The room absolutely reeked of Marijuana, the arm rests on the chair I sat in were sticky, there was a stain on the bathroom counter that made me think someone left a rusty paint can on the counter for a long period of time, and there were multiple winged insects in the room. My husband killed 4 of them and saw more before we called it quits. Also, some of the large support columns for the walkway on the second floor were clearly breaking, which is TERRIFYING. Some of them had extra, smaller columns added around them to try and hold them up, so the property owner is clearly aware, but why not replace the actual large columns themselves? The nice man working in the front office was very police and agreed to refund us, so I have no complaints at all about the staff or about the service we received. I don't think I'm a terribly high-maintenance traveler, but I couldn't stay in this place.
- 3/5
Dated building. Suited the need
- 1/5
This is hands down the worst I’ve ever stayed in. The pictures on hand when booked look nothing like the garbage room they put us in. Walking through the door we were transported back to 1970. The place is disgusting outside was to. Trash and beer cans at the bottom of the stairs. The mattress should have been discarded 20 years ago. It was hard as concrete and the bed squeaked everytime you twitched. The furniture was disgusting. Chairs were massively stained and dirty. Table felt like it hadn’t been wiped down. AC rattles like it gonna fall out of the wall. Toilet runs every 10 minutes all night long. Pay extra and stay elsewhere. I will never stay at this dump again. Take down the false pics and put up ones that actually look like what you’re renting. I also took pics and as soon as I can figure out how to post them, I will.
- 3/5
Just a place to sleep.
- 1/5
I asked for a refund
- 4/5
House keeping need more clean also the hair on the bed and in the rest room. The last time we moved in they didn't clean the room well. The laundry need more clean too. But the good thing the washer and dryer is free to the tenant . Thank you fairground In . The staff there are very nice.
- 4/5
Great nice front desk staff only the housekeeping they don't clean well in the room we find hair the first day we enter the room on bed and in the bathroom Also outside need to be clean too. The laundry room is clean also the machine is free to the guest to wash their laundry .
- 1/5
front desk staff was great, very kind. The people staying and milling around the hotel and surrounding area is sketchy, drug activity, possibly additional other illegal interaction occurring by people in the area. We had only been there 10 minutes and had a strong feeling our car would be stolen if we stayed over night due to the interest in the vehicle by the people milling around. Also, the room we were provided was nice and clean, but it was an adjoining room, and my husband was immediately able to gain entry to the connection room next door. Unnerving, as we then felt our room could not be secure if the opposite were true. A hard no on this location. Again, nice staff, terrible activity in the area and at the hotel itself. Does not recommend.
- 1/5
The room was filthy. The sheets had what looked like blood stains on them. The bedspread felt dirty just touching it. There were easily 25 flies flying around the room. The air conditioner did not work; the toilet did not flush. The carpet was awful. I would never recommend this property and the one good thing I can say is we did not stay and got our money back.
- 4/5
Nice place!
- 3/5
However the sheets were spotless and the water was hot and I slept great
- 1/5
The bed was full of black hairs and stains
- 3/5
road noise, paper thin walls hearing people talking outside of my room
- 3/5
The person who checked me in was really nice, it was close to everything, but the room and the bed were awful! The room smelled really bad, the bed was so hard it wasn’t even funny and the condensation was out of control, it was a decent property maybe I just got a bad room? I will stay again when I’m bad in Monroe.
- 4/5
Not bad of a place. Lots of things nearby. The bed was comfortable!
- 4/5
Fairground Inn is the best value I know for quick business trips to Monroe, family run and quite accessible.
- 4/5
Train is a little noisy
- 1/5
Booked for three people got 1 double bed 2 towels dirty gross place. We left without staying.
- 3/5
The room hadn’t been vacuumed, the toilet didn’t flush (we fixed it), the chain was torn from the door, there was food splattered on the wall behind the microwave, hairs in the bathroom, no garbage can in the restroom, a substance on the bathroom wall…the bed was clean.
- 4/5
Palou was very nice and helpful. He helped to get us a bottom floor room for my 500+ pound friend, who would of had a hard time making it to the 2nd floor. He also made sure our front window got fixed so we could sleep in comfort, knowing no one could get into our room from the street.
- 1/5
Stains on the floor and furniture. Remote was sticky and had gunk all over it. Hair on the counter and shower area. Sketchy night activities in the back lot.
- 5/5
Just a little dirty parking lot
- 1/5
Bedding had something on it, wall had spots that had been painted different colors, holes patched in doors with out being fixed, the floor was gross feeling i wouldnt walk bare foot on it bathtub was peeling. Pulled in and trash bags were just sitting outside in parking spots. Very out dated and very musty smelling was hoping it had gotten better from last time. Will be spending a lil more money and going somewhere else next time.
- 2/5
The bad. The room’s carpet was filthy, didn’t walk around with bare feet. Breakfast was marginal, nothing hot except instant oatmeal. The good we saved $300. Was it worth it? Not really.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff
- 4/5
Lots of testaurants nearby
- 3/5
The outside is full of trash, garbage cans overflowing. The rooms are well worn, but I was pleased that the room looked clean. I bring my own bedding and pillow, I refuse to sleep on any motel sheets. I asked the staff not to clean my room, I don't want my bedding moved around. Overall its a place to sleep, and defiantly nothing fancy.
- 2/5
Liked the location but chair and carpet had urine stains (Smelled) on them.
- 4/5
This is an older building on a busy road with a train that goes by every six hours or so day and night. That said, they were pet-friendly, the beds were comfortable and best water pressure I have ever had at any hotel. As long as you know its right on the highway, there are trains and kind of a beat up building - it was cean and safe enough. We stayed five nights during a two-week trip to the Pacific NW with our two dogs, both Setters.
- 3/5
The place is close to everything, food, activities, shopping. The grounds could be kept up better. Lot of garbage and cigarette butts laying around. Rooms are okay but they have only about 20 inch television.
- 2/5
Room was clean but needs a lot of money put into it, bath tub still had hair in it and was clogged, we get what we paid for kinda
- 5/5
Beds were good, carpet needs to be replaced, toilet had leaks.
- 1/5
I got there and paid for my room. Everything seemed to be OK, not very nice, but OK. Well, when I went to my room, it was a different story. The curtains were not completely attached to the rod, so they didn't close completely. There were no pictures or anything on the walls, but the walls were full of holes. The carpet was warn through at the bathroom doorway and it didn't look clean. The bathroom floor stuck to my shoes as I walked on it. I couldn't bear the thought of staying there, so I asked for my money back and went and bought a sleeping bag and stayed in my car. This was totally not what I expected. They gave me a receipt saying that they refunded my money, but I have not seen it in my account yet.
- 5/5
It smelled very nice and it was a great place with breakfast
- 1/5
Horrible bed. Dirty shower. Room smelled. Dirty disgusting stained chairs.
- 1/5
Horrible front desk people got charged for one night I was not even there I found hair on the sheets. front desk people were very, very rude not family friendly at all got lied to and said there was a couch in the room and there was not bathroom was dirty bugs and mold Bed was severely uncomfortable. Was very noisy outside and there was loud music playing late at night in early in the morning. Also, we asked if there was two beds available and they said they didn’t even have them at the hotel even though it says it on Expedia‘s website would not go there again. The hotel should be shut down.
- 1/5
There is as a larger amount of hair on the bedding when we arrived.
- 4/5
See above
- 1/5
There wasn't much to like. There's obviously a number of people living there who seemed to spend time talking right outside my room until 10:30. It sounded like they were in my room. I. could have easily participated in their conversation. There's a train that goes by about 200 yards away every 4 to 6hours with it's horn sounding. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced and I'm 77. The good? Nothing I can think of.
- 2/5
I paid way to much for this room.
- 2/5
Itv was old and ragged. The people at the front desk weren't welcoming. Some people were living there.
- 2/5
The door didn't have a security latch on it so we had to move the table in front of it to create a barrier for our two year old that likes to go out the door. Upon moving the table it was clear we were the first to move it in some time. There was dirt and dried up liquid of some kind under it. The floor itself was sticky. There was a partially used bar of soap in the shower indicating the bathroom wasn't cleaned very well. The toilet was on a slant so the toilet seat or back wouldn't stay up. Cigarette butts EVERYWHERE outside around the stairs that was right outside of our door. The train horn that happens four to six time a night is also unpleasant, but not the hotels fault. The staff at the front desk was friendly
- 1/5
Checked in, I didn't expect much, but as I was getting ready for bed I found bed bugs. I checked out immediately with a full refund. At least they didnt argue with me about that part.
- 1/5
Too much train noise and nighttime noises
- 1/5
Nastiest place ive ever stayed. Spills and stains on the ceiling, box spring, bathroom. Socks were black within 10 minutes of walking around. Toilet didnt flush. Found dead crickets in the room the first night and cockroach ran across my friends arm the 2nd night. Really conveniently located but so gross. Also super loud, right on the main road and the train line is right there as well.
- 4/5
This is an older hotel that is maintained well. But right next to train tracks. The breakfast is also a bit at your own risk. But its a great deal and the staff was very kind.
- 5/5
Nice stay
- 3/5
The beds were fine. But the carpet was really dirty and sticky. The fridge didn’t work and the toilet wouldn’t flush most of the time. Other than that, it was an ok stay for the price.
- 3/5
For an older hotel it was fair. It couls use a little TLC in the oversll cosmetic areas of the roomd
- 2/5
Easy
- 3/5
The water pressure was horrible and the toilet took 30+ to fill back up
- 2/5
Great location although next to active train tracks. Worn out rooms with sticky carpet stains and abysmal mattresses. Very friendly staff, just needs an upgrade.
- 2/5
Next to train tracks. Dirty. Terrible breakfast. Clerk not friendly. Wouldn't stay again.
- 2/5
Amtrack train 4 times in the night right behind our room. Dirty with garbage all over the parking lot and near the stairs.
- 4/5
Other then that it was clean, spacious, reasonable price.
- 2/5
Dirty, security lock on door kicked in, train multiple times per night, housekeeping poor, you had to ask for towels, breakfast consisted of old bagels, and some granola bars. Air conditioners missing knobs, bathroom door didn’t work. Didn’t feel safe, drug deals in parking lot. Will not be staying again
- 3/5
It wasnt very good. The room listed that I paid for online said it slept 3 with a pullout couch, it does not. Thankfully we brought a cot as there was only 1 bed. The AC wasnt working and it was really miserable. We had to open the door and window because it was so stuffy. I couldnt get more than one room key for 3 people. Not enough parking and the back parking lot was half full of random UHaul equipment??? Why? The shower backed up but it was hot, at least. Also they really need to put the refrigerated breakfast things such as the tub of cream cheese in ice. The same tub was left out and reused daily. No tongs for the bagels. It felt really unsanitary. I've stayed in some run down hotels without complaint but the final straw for me was the abysmal wifi connection. I needed to work on my college essays and couldnt get any pages to load to do my research.

Hands down the worst accommodation I have ever seen worldwide. Feces stained sheets, pee all over toilet, stained walls, hair everywhere, dirty sheets, disgusting carpet and furniture. Got a refund and left after 20 mins. Absolutely trainwreck of a motel. Oh! And a train literally runs past every 3 hours. Didn't stick around to witness it though.
- 1/5
I'm a notorious cheapskate and I've stayed in some *sketchtastic* places just to save a buck. I suppose the roulette wheel of cheap hotels had to land on "every pathogen known to man" eventually. The disappointment started with the wall of febreeze upon entry, and it was only downhill from there. A paper "sanitized for your protection" slip was on the toilet, which was obviously a lie because there was a skid mark on the seat that even my bespectacled eyes couldn't miss. Food on the table, "nether hairs" in the tub, beard hairs on the sink, and what one can only hope was rust where the coffee pot should have been. None of that was as bad as the obvious blood spatter on the bed skirt, however. The only saving grace was that I didn't have a black light on my person, as the what I can only imagine would be a super nova-esque light show would have haunted me for decades to come.
- 2/5
Polite service, didn't receive the room we reserved though.
- 4/5
Close to the work and it's noisy close to train road.
- 2/5
Hotel close to shopping and dining options. But unfortunately is close to highway and train tracks. The room had a strong smell of cleaning products and the floor was sticky. The hair dryer also didn’t work and the shower didn’t drain well. Pillows were nice and the bed was okay.
- 5/5
What’s the price by how cool the hotel even though it has a low rating
- 1/5
So I settled on a other unit. No couch. The room smelled. The towels were hard, the TV was Tiny and the AC did not go below 72. Zero stars. Oh yeah, "breakfast" was a joke. Have an apple and a bowl of cereal if you'd like Lol
- 5/5
Affordable and clean. There is a train that passes through that is loud, but still a good stay.
- 1/5
Yesterday’s cold coffee and no hot water for tea this morning. Toilet didn’t work well, frig froze water. Bathroom counters stained from remodel maybe, room chairs stained. It was very hard to feel comfortable felt very uncleaned. Bed very very very old mattress and boxspring
- 5/5
Staff are nice . The house keeping didn't clean the room, microwave good also the room need more air freshener.
- 1/5
Horrid stay… the mattresses had to be 30 years old… sagging in sorrow with hard wire edges. The mounted headboard fell off the wall while trying to find an electrical outlet for one of the lamps. The curtains were off the rails, hanging on for dear life as you find in a haunted house. The AC unit sounded like it was crying out in agony and about to explode. There was a special door to a joining room without a secure lock but it’s fine because it had a note taped to it basically saying “Don’t worry about it.” The water pressure was very weak. No hangers, no wifi, the floor and chairs were extremely filthy. The bed spreads had cigarette burns in them and also some holes that were stitched back together poorly. There was an un-appointed strange man that would stand with his door wide open to his room on the bottom floor, just standing in the doorway, watching and directing parking… Great place if you’re into horror films IRL.
- 4/5
But clean. Lots of dining choices close. Parking was bad as many spots in lot were reserved for barber shop on property.
- 2/5
Not a lot of parking to begin with, our linens on the bed had hair from either the washing or previous people who stayed and they didn’t wash them. The deadbolt for the door didn’t work, the room itself was in desperate need of some work
- 3/5
Its an older motel so don't be surprised if there are some things that aren't in pristine condition. Overall the cleanliness was fair but could have been better. The mini fridge didn't work and the curtains were missing hooks so they didn’t close completely. I will say that the bed the bed I slept in was very comfortable.
- 1/5
The upper part ofvthe king bed was broken and when we laid down we were in a sunken hole!!! We ended up sleeping at the bottom of the bed!! We were supposed to have a two day stay but endedvupvchecking out after the first night. The management did refund the second night, butvwevpaid $150 for an awful nights stay!!!
- 1/5
This place shouldn’t be allowed to rent rooms. Complete slum. Pretty sure there’s prostitution going on. Train passes by every hour. Blair horns through the night. You will not get an ounce of sleep. Places filthy. Had three different rooms for family members. Each room was disgusting. None of them were uniform. Bathrooms were not clean. You had to sleep with her clothes on and hoped you didn’t get some disease. Get a different place avoid this place for sure. Not worth it. Pay the extra couple hundred dollars a night to stay at the comfort inn, or the Hampton.
- 4/5
The staff are nice only the housekeeping need to do the cleaning more good and put some air freshener in the room. That room we used smell bad also the bed no cution need to change the bed.
- 1/5
Dirtiest room i have ever been in. Extremely uncomfortable, kids strongly disliked the room. As well as the location. Smelt of marijuana fiercely. Bathroom was nit cleaned. Towels were nit clean. Didnt feel safe due to random people loitering.
- 2/5
Dirty
- 5/5
I thought it was kinda dumb that I had to pay a $20 extra to check in early
- 3/5
Very average. Like others said, it was not very clean and the room had a weird smell. It was cheap, so we made it work for a night, but probably wouldn’t stay here again.
- 2/5
Building condition is not good. The beds are bad.
- 1/5
- Privacy: Curtains were good enough to have privacy. No matter how you arrange them, it is possible to peek inside. - Smell: The room smells like pee. - Mattress: The Firmness level is not the same among different parts of the mattress. Spring had some broken springs as well.
- 1/5
Needs s remodel
- 3/5
On the plus side , linens were very white and fragrance free😊
- 5/5
10/10
- 2/5
Very dated room. No improvements. Noise from the train was terrible. Lame “breakfast” of misc Costco packaged bars. Insufficient parking due to back lot being full of UHaul trailers.
- 5/5
My second time I stayed the room is cleaner then the first time the bed is comfy . Will come for a other stay .
- 2/5
I can handle cheap hotels and I have stayed here before a few years ago but - wow, Soooo bad. They don’t clean your room between days you stay so I have to ask for towels, the bedding was so old and gross, no cover over the hard mattress. Super dirty all over, no parking, vaping tweakers out back and I’m surprised my truck wasn’t stollen. Don’t run the ancient, nasty looking AC or you’ll be wheezing all day. Owners need to clean this place up.
- 5/5
Clean quiet and charming room ...friendly and helpful staff.
- 4/5
Room clean comfy except the big pillows.
- 4/5
Over all decent hotel, not the nicest but got the job done and was clean.
- 3/5
Not what I expected
- 4/5
Nice
- 1/5
Tried to check in way after checkout time room was not ready came back checked in the first room. The door did not lock got another room took back the covers on the bed. There was black hair blood and stains all over the sheets did not stay at this hotel and are waiting for a refund. This place needs to be condemned. It was horrible. Would not recommend. I wish you would take this off Expedia so nobody else books a room there.
- 3/5
great location just a little noisy and old
- 2/5
Not clean..poorly maintained
- 2/5
I wasn't expecting much, just a bed and a shower, but if you want more than that, this isn't it.
- 1/5
It sucked. The place was unsanitized. It took us an hour to get another room and there was no reinburstment.
- 1/5
Vert dirty
- 1/5
Very dirty room
- 1/5
We opened the door to the room looked around at the walls, bed and left in five minutes. My bed said she’s not sleeping in that bed. Ask for our money back which has yet to be reversed.
- 5/5
everyone and everything the neightor s were great had a fun time
- 2/5
Not well-maintained dirty
- 3/5
The rooms have laminate flooring, which was sticky. I think it was from the cleaners. The bed was firm, a lot like sleeping on a yoga mat on the floor. The bathroom counter had stains and damage from a coffee pot? Other than the dining table, the other flat surfaces were in need of a good cleaning. My suitcase got very dirty on the top shelf of the clothes hanger.
- 3/5
It can be cleaner.
- 5/5
Very good I stay here every time I come to town
- 3/5
Needs better cleaning...
- 3/5
Low cost older motel that could use a little TLC.
- 4/5
The size of the rooms are very large
- 3/5
Location is between a busy highway and a rail line, so there is some noise. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, but the facility shows several signs of delayed maintenance. The rooms were clean and had minifridges and microwaves. However some of the rooms appeared have been converted to living quarters for residents. Overall an acceptable although not preferred lodging.
- 2/5
There were bags of garbage in the walkways. The drain in our room didn't drain at night. There was limited parking. The owner uses the parking lot for a U-Haul business also and U-Haul trailers took up a lot of parking space.
- 4/5
It’s a good hotel for the price. Location is near the fairgrounds which was the primary reason I chose it. The road noise from Route 2 and railroad was somewhat bothersome if you’re a light sleeper. Furnishings looked old in style but in reasonable condition. The comforter had a black mark on it, but otherwise the room was clean.
- 5/5
Alwaya helpful. Friendly and accomidating
- 3/5
Reasonable room, bed and bathroom facilities at a good price. Clean and fresh.
- 5/5
Convenient
- 2/5
They do not change bedsheets between guests
- 3/5
The Fairground Inn was close to the Monroe Fairgrounds which served its purpose.
- 3/5
The customer service was great but the room was dirty. I had to clean the surfaces before I was able to use them. When it came to the bed, I slept fully clothed. I remember this motel when it was one of two in Monroe, it’s gone so far down. Sad to see.
- 1/5
It was run down. I nean really run down. The security lock on my door was mangled. The curtains had holes. The floor was stained. No blanket on the bed just a sheet and the old bedspread, which i didn't use got a sleeping bag out of my car.
- 5/5
Noisy as it was on main Street in town, otherwise a good stay.
- 2/5
It felt dirty, no comforting, hairdryer missing ,
- 2/5
a small place, was unexpected and I didn't stay, didn't match the pictures
- 2/5
Facility is worn and on a highway. Very noisy, hard to sleep. My pillow was excellent but the bed was terrible. The staff was nice, but the room was dingy, peeling paint, burnt floors, holes in the doors.
- 4/5
Very convenient for the Monroe Swap Meet.
- 4/5
Extremely clean. No parking for trucks with rv trailers. Great linens. Bit noisey. Overall, i would stay again.
- 3/5
Would have gave 5 stars but the refrigerator was broken and couldn’t use it.
- 4/5
I just needed a place to sleep for a couple nights while working in the area. It’s an older place but it was perfect for what i needed. The price is good.
- 4/5
Not clean bed need to change . Shawor room mold the tub/ tule
- 1/5
Floors were super sicky in both rooms we booked. The bleach smell was so strong it burned your nose. Dirty and old. Did not stay @ this property. Before i even checked the rooms out I saw that they rent by the week. Huge red flag. Cheap price for a reason.
- 4/5
I’d go back. Good deal for the price.
- 2/5
Curtains didn’t close and block nothing water pressure is terrible they spent a lot of money on security cameras but can’t wash the rooms they smelled old and dingy my non smoking room had burn holes in the comforter carpet is old beds suck. A/c units are old,
- 5/5
First time staying, won’t be my last!
- 2/5
Bed was clean. Extremely noisy. Toilet was not cleaned prior to my arrival causing a bad smell in room.
- 2/5
The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The bad is the room smelled bad and not sure if the sheets had been slept in or not. Also, the train track is like 250 feet from the rooms out back where i was and they blew their horns and there was a lot of train traffic.
- 4/5
I would definitely go back
- 3/5
I have stayed in low end cheaper hotels before but this was probably the worse. Hotel is in way worse shape than photos show. Rooms are in rough shape with burn marks on carpets and furniture. The room stunk of cigarettes and wet dog. Also, it is located right next to active train tracks so there is a train that goes by every few hours or so all day and night.
- 5/5
When asked about restaurants attendant didn’t know of any -IHOP is next door Attendant was reticent and unwelcoming Will not stay there next trip nor will I recommend it
- 4/5
Bad smell
- 2/5
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The king bed had only two pillows. Three were needed and 4 is the usual in other Motels with King bed. The room had a pungent smell, perhaps the cleaning fluid used. The linoleum floor was really sticky, i would imagine from the cleaning fluid as well. Bed was quite firm, many may like it that firm but was too firm for us.
- 5/5
Very convenient by the US2 highway
- 5/5
Good service
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and very helpful. Answered my questions online and in house without any hassle like I dealt with thru agents on the chat only customer service Expedia app has
- 5/5
This is a nice basic motel. I've stayed here many times, and love it. If you're looking for a nice motel with a retro vibe, look no further. (If you like Schitt's Creek, you'll love this motel.) The train(s) can be a bit loud, but there's usually only one or two per night. Most of the rooms are really well-maintained, but there may be some that need a little work. This has the feel of a family-owned motel, and is wonderful.
- 5/5
It was very clean rooms clean an very quiet staff was very helpful
- 4/5
Friendly, helpful staff.
- 5/5
Love?
- 1/5
Carpets were so dirty you could not even walk on them without wearing shoes. Too much noise. Someone was yelling in the middle of the night. Wont recommend to anyone. Had booked it for 2 nights but left after 1st night.
- 2/5
Room was outdated. Need to be freshen up . Could use fresh paint new flooring
- 5/5
The Property manager was very nice and polite.
- 3/5
Was comfortable and clean. Not enough amenities. No cups, not enough washcloths or soaps for two people. Train too close to tracks. No information about breakfast or wifi on property. Too expensive for what you get.
- 2/5
The beds were terrible and the shower nozzles didn’t have good pressure. I wasn’t happy with the TV size or the kitchenette. I don’t plan on ever returning although the customer service was adequate. This surrounding area is very nice. Thank you.
- 4/5
Was quiet
- 2/5
the floor was dirty when we walked in. hair on the sink and the floor. The mirror had crap on it as well and the box spring bed had stains all over it. they didn't even hide it either and for a standard bed it was not my husband's feet hung over the edge of the bed and that bed had to be a full not standard no room on that bed at all we were in room 212 I also asked them to fix the heater for the change filter light was on and it was not running right to keep the room warm at all they did nothing I had asked them to fix it Saturday morning at 8 am for I was freezing when i woke up because the heater was not working I knew they didn't fix it cause the tape on the heater holding it together was not replaced the train the first night was not too bad but the next night the trains blasted the horn all night long they do offer ear plugs in the office we will not stay there again the train was too much and the room was not clean at all and the bed too small and stained there ideal of breakfast was a muffin and rice crispy treats and granola bars cold cereal and tangerines
- 4/5
For the price, the Fairground Inn is wonderful! My only real complaint is that my bathtub was missing the little stopper. This is a basic hotel, but it does have a pretty good breakfast--the hard boiled eggs were cooked perfectly, the cereal was fresh, they had Sunny D(!) and milk, and nice yogurts! I'll definitely be back!
- 5/5
Very convenient location from the Evergreen state fairgrounds where we attended an event. Friendly people and decent breakfast options for the price we paid for a night’s stay.
- 1/5
The place should be condemned.
- 1/5
Staff was EXTREMELY rude. Took a picture of my drivers license and when asked how long it will be on record he said permanently and if I don't like it I can go elsewhere. The carpet was disgusting, bathroom was not cleaned, stairs outside falling apart. The train track is next to the property and is LOUD, not a fault of the hotel, but something to note. Changed room several times, some rooms smelled really bad, some rooms had a loud buzz. Everyone I talked to hated it there, so AVOID.
- 1/5
I had reserved 3 rooms. My party stayed in all 3. The rooms were dirty. The smoke alarm was beeping from low battery and the front desk person just removed the somke alarm and never replaced it. The heater didnt have control buttons, and he pulled a key out of his pocket to turn it on and set it to high heat with no way for us to turn it off. The beds were poor and inconsistent in the rooms. The double queen rooms we rented had full size beds. The front desk guy inspected the rooms for cleanliness and all he did was spray fabreeze around the room. The door wouldnt stay closed and would just pop open. The toilet clogged the first night and was never remedied. We had to go to the other rooms or the restaurant near by. There was no water pressure in the shower or sink. All of these issues were in just one room and my party members were just being polite by not complaining about their rooms. DO NOT STAY HERE!!
- 3/5
Pros: basically the only accommodation in Monroe, microwave and fridge in room, good to-go breakfast, not cheap but reasonably priced (80 usd tax incl). Cons: between train tracks and US2 highway, nosy on botha sides, kind of old, but more importantly... Wasn't very clean really. And I'm not the type to complain easily about cleanliness, the room really wasn't so clean.
- 2/5
Asked for accessible. Started by offering a second floor room. No elevator. Bed was like a lumpy rock. Step over tub. Close to a one inch gap under the door. 24 degree low. Second night used a towel to stop the free flow of cold air into the room at night. Not staying there again.
- 5/5
Some technical issues with the room but I was only there to sleep so no big deal.
- 2/5
Had to move rooms because the first room had a kitchenette but the burners where stuck on. Second rooms bathroom was not clean and the TV was the size of a computer monitor
- 5/5
Front Desk wad awesome only downfall is Trains
- 1/5
There was poop or something stinky on the carpet
- 1/5
Rooms very outdated and need some fixings. Felt like people were living there. Didnt feel the safest traveling alone as a woman. The staff was nice and friendly
- 1/5
The place was dirty and falling apart. Push pins on walls to hang towels. The pillows were the worst could barely sleep. I would not stay here again
- 5/5
For the most part everything was clean and suitable. Only downfall was all the traffic on HWY 2. It gets loud when people think it is a race track. No fault of the owners. It was a place to stay warm, and relax.
- 4/5
Overall very good for the price. Budget friendly, condition decent. I would stay here again next time.
- 1/5
Horrible, smelly rooms and bedding. Appeared dirty. Furniture was stained and I felt gross sitting on. Train noise was terrible. Foot traffic and knocking of doors was often with other guests. Just horrible. Checked in at 4, tried two rooms. Decided to leave at 11pm because I couldn’t sleep. Would on,y offer partial refund. Taught me a lesson to not cheap out on motel/hotel when traveling.
- 2/5
Beds were very soft, pillows very hard. TV was broken, no phone to call front desk. Very noisy area with trains and people fighting outside and in hotel for hours
- 1/5
The room was dirty, blankets were dirty, walls were disgusting. Eew i didnt even want to sleep in the beds.
- 1/5
This was the dirtiest motel i have ever stayed in the carpet was fifthly. Trash under my bed. Empty drink bottles. The bathroom door had a hole where someone had punched the door. You could not shut the bathroom door because it did not clear the toilet. The carpet was freyed on the edges. The room odor was sickening. We were afraid of bed bugs we slept on top of the covers. I will never return to this motel.
- 4/5
Available rooms quiet and convenient.
- 5/5
Priced well
- 3/5
First time and last here..friendly staff but really bad odor in the room really old carpet dog poop everywhere
- 2/5
Wouldn't recommend or stay again
- 3/5
The location is perfect for the event that I was attending. The price was appropriate for the accommodations.
- 5/5
The staff was so kind and amazing 🙏🙌😇
- 4/5
Overall, no complaints. Staff was friendly and professional. Room was clean with a bit of mold on shower wall.
- 1/5
Office repeatedly gives room key to anyone. The office made a key for someone and they robbed my room of everything inside. Then when I brought it to there attention they did nothing about it and told me that she had done this multiple times to my room. After I told them to not give anyone my key especially this one person.
- 2/5
We left two days early not a good place.
- 3/5
Train runs right behind the property, they can’t control that but something to think about when booking. Room was dirty and was missing a remote
- 2/5
The toilet paper roll in our bathroom had spots of blood in it, 3 of the 4 lights above the mirror did not work, and there were holes in the bedding. The pillows on a queen size bed were the size of the throw pillows on my couch! There were a ton of weird objects stuck to the wall and what looked to be blood stains in the carpet. I will not be staying here again.
- 2/5
My review should be taken as merely a thought. Upon check in staff were very friendly. As soon as I entered my room I knew I could not stay there. I did immediately drive across the street and check in at the evergreen. I made no fuss with the staff as the condition is not up to them but rather the owner of the building. Affordable ✍ Pet friendly ✍ are definitely things to note. Comfortable and inviting and warm would not be the words I would use to describe.
- 1/5
The staff was very nice and didn’t make it difficult for me to get a refund for the night that I canceled. This motel is gross. It did not feel clean, there was dog poop all over the parking lot and nowhere with any decent grass to potty a dog except for right next to a busy road. I got a nonsmoking room, but upon entering it already smelled like cigarettes. This got worse through the night, so I suppose someone was smoking in an adjacent room or outside, and that was somehow getting into my room. The tub did not drain fully, the showerhead was not completely functional, and the beds were rock hard. It's cheap, so if you have to do it, it's probably fine, but this was a terrible experience and I would not recommend it to anyone.
- 3/5
The remote for the heating/cooling unit in room 221 needs a battery I think. I had to walk over to the unit to operate it. There was no TV remote at all that I could find. The curtain rod was broken so that the curtain sagged in the middle. It did cover the window, though. I was impressed with how clean everything was. The price was right.
- 4/5
Reasonable prices hotel.
- 1/5
I did not have a bad experience with the staff or anything like that, but when I opened the door to my room, the smell was awful, there was no refrigerator as promised, the whole place was really dingy and dirty. it smelled like somebody’s really bad foot odor (like someone’s arse exploded). I was lucky the a/c and heater worked because it was literally hanging out of the wall. The bed was literally only 6 inches thick and the spring coil mattress was very old, as soon as I rolled onto it, I sunk right through it to the wooden platform so I already knew it was going to be a very rough night of trying to sleep. I was exhausted, so I did actually fall asleep for a couple hours, but I would not stay here again for any amount of money, even if it was free.
- 1/5
Nice location rude staff multiple violations safety latch broken not clean dope pipe in room after house clean was done was moved to another room just as bad if not worse .. druggies walking around with tinfoil and staff talking drug lingo with random guest . I wouldn't ever go there again not safe for your kids or you . The feeling of is my car going to be there when I wake up or am I going to get contact high from drugs if I stay there save your self the time and hassle just dont go ....
- 5/5
I've stayed at this motel about a dozen times, and when things are good they are very good. Terrific room. Brilliant sheets. Smooth check-in and courteous check-out. They even asked my room preferences as I was checking in, which I appreciated. Happy to support such a solid, small business.
- 2/5
Office staff were unhelpful lack of customer service or cordial behavior A man knocks on the door warning us to shut our drapes it was a really unsafe place then telling us if we needed to do laundry h had a key?although I appreciated the warning it freaked me out given the fact the front desk was so unfriendly
- 2/5
The dryer in laundry did not work...I had wet clothes hanging in bathroom (that did not dry). The bed was sunk in the middle; pillows were totally hard and could not use. The ac/heater did not work.
- 4/5
The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Even the breakfast was a little better than I’ve experienced at comparable hotels, however the rooms could be cleaned better. Bed was clean, bathroom was clean enough but a little more care to detail would be appreciated! Take the extra minutes to wipe the spots on the walls, the corners of the floor, etc
- 3/5
Room was actually clean but the sink was clogged and was never tended to even though we stayed 2 nights. Otherwise reasonably good except that it's right next to active train tracks with very loud trains that blare their horns as they pass through several times per night.
- 1/5
Mucho olor a drogas y no controlan que cuarto tiene disponible me dieron un cuarto donde ya estaba ocupado
- 3/5
You definitely get what you pay for as far as cleanliness and conditions of the facilities. Hairs left in the bathroom, towels, poor water pressure, microwave still had the time of last use. Had to move the table to properly use the heater. TV remote was missing but staff was quick to get a new one. Train is VERY loud overnight but I’m a heavy sleeper so I could get past it. Conditions could be much worse for the price, but the rooms could definitely use a remodel.
- 3/5
It was clean but need a lot of tlc.
- 1/5
Bed was springy, old & uncomfortable. The TV did not work, the room was dirty & gross. Shower was dirty & no water pressure, and did not drain correctly. I have a SERVICE ANIMAL, they charged me a PET FEE! Even after I offered my service animal papers.
- 3/5
Even though this is an older motel that currently needs some TLC we found it convenient and comfortable. The room was small, the smoke detector was in the nightstand drawer, breakfast was minimal, but the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The cost was what would be expected from a motel in this condition with the minimal amenities it provided.
- 2/5
It is the most basic you could expect from a motel. It is also the cheapest in the area so you get what you pay for. Floor is stained, furniture is falling apart, and very noisy location. Also lots of drug addicts hanging around the building.
- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
Drug deals going on all night. crackheads blaring music. mold in the bathroom. missing smoke detectors. cigarette burns in the sheets and comforters. cheapest place in town. not worth it. if you are going to stay here make sure you pack something to protect yourself
- 3/5
After a long day of travelling we wanted to relax and watch some tv. The tv kept turning on and off. There was no bath tub plug for the drain so could not have a bath. Front desk agent was polite and friendly.
- 3/5
Bed and bathroom were clean and neat. Unfortunately, while our room was non-smoking, it had a stale cigarette smoke smell. The bathroom had the worst smoke smell when the fan was turned on. I accidentally left two items in our room. I had flipped the bed covers over the items and did not realize I missed them when packing. I called the motel as soon as I realized. The gal assured me she would check with housekeeping and get back to me. She did not. I messaged the motel and got not response. We will not stay here again. Forgetting my items is on me. Stealing my items is on them. I have family in the area. They would have gladly gone and picked up my stuff.
- 1/5
Do not, I repeat, do not stay here. The room smelled like wet dogs had been kept in there for years. Tons of flies buzzing around inside the room. A fingernail was melted to the side table. Stains on the chairs and floor. Spend the extra money and stay away from here.
- 3/5
It was blah. Couldn’t get the room I reserved due to animal infestation. Never informed me until I arrived and put me in a room with a cot instead of two queens. The outlets were extremely loose and the faucets (sink and shower) leaked with low water pressure. The drawers, bed and shower had hair in it but the toilet was clean. The bathroom door looked like someone tried to bash it in and smoke alarm hanging from ceiling. Then after our first night in one of the desk employees came in to see if room was vacant even though they moved me in there for three nights.
- 2/5
We were disappointed to find that the lodging appears to be used for homeless residence, with much clutter and garbage at the doors and people smoking on chairs outside of the doors. The sheets were dingy and had holes in them; the walls were poorly patched and the front door safety bolt was broken off. We cancelled our 2nd night, but still have not received a refund. Very dissapointing.

Please clean up the breakfast area to make it more presentable. Thank you.

We got there and they didn’t have our room available even though we booked months ago. Had our reservation but not our room…put us in an old room that was filthy and smelled horrible and bed and comforter were from the early 80’s. We got a refund and went elsewhere. Do not stay here…roach motel doesn’t do it justice.

The building is old and it shows. The condition of this hotel was below average. Not clean, dingy, old, sink is in bad shape, corroded etc… will not stay here again. My family left after the first night one and moved to another establishment.

I appreciated the staff, who had kindly and quickly replaced the pillowcases and bedsheets. This is my 4th time at Fairgrounds Inn (previously stayed in 2019, 2022, and 2023). The condition of the room and property showed signs of wear & tear.

Check in was quick staff friendly. Rooms are dated but good for the price. Only complaint was we had noisey neighbors. Train came by a few times but wasnt bad.

I asked for a refund from the property. It was disgustingly filthy. Everything was broken. It had all the charm of a crack house. It would not surprise me at all if they had an hourly rate.
