Reviews
The Monroe Motel is a quaint, older establishment that offers clean and comfortable rooms at a great value. Guests appreciate the peaceful location by the river and the helpful staff, but some find the exterior appearance and surrounding trailer park off-putting.
- Peaceful location by the river
- Helpful and friendly staff
- Older exterior appearance
- Surrounding trailer park

They have updated the rooms since I stayed her last several years ago. It was clean, welcoming and nicely prepared for guests. Friendly & easy check in and I love you can park your car in front of your room. Only negative was neighbors living on the property trailers were loud at night, riding a 4 Wheeler around.

We (my wife and I) enjoy staying in small independent and historic hotels, and while the ones marketed as "historic" are usually very good, older hotels/motels without that designation often are not. With that in mind, I'd considered booking The Monroe Motel as a bit of a gamble, and I'm glad I took it because our entire experience was excellent. The property was well maintained. Room 8 had a nice lawn with a stream running behind it. The room was spotless and comfortable - and what really made the Monroe stand out was the attentive and excellent service from the gentleman operating the hotel - the owner I presume. Plus, the room had a regular TV that we could watch regular channels on without having to log on to streaming services - a pet peeve of mine. NA: I thought AC might be nice when it gets warmer - because we were already thinking about returning for a future visit - so I asked about it, and the owner said he puts in window AC units during the summer months, and he plans on having modern HVAC installed in the near future. So with that as my only concern eliminated, I have to rate the Monroe 5-Stars in it's category.

It was a great location for us as it was close to our family. Located close to a small river/large stream and beautiful trees all around make it very tranquil. Two areas to improve: 1) having USB ports for charging phones would have been great - we had to go buy a couple and 2) the mattresses are quite firm so having a topper for those who are side-sleepers would make it a lot more comfortable. It was quiet, clean, and overall a great stay (2 nights).
- 5/5
We had a great stay at Monroe motel, it is a older place but remodeled very nice. Nice setting by the river and yard to relax in. very close to all the stuff you need, but set back in the trees for a country setting very nice stay, will stay again.
- 4.5/5
I would like to of had a heater in the bathroom. Otherwise everything was great.
- 5/5
Simple. Clean. Courteous. 3rd time staying here.
- 5/5
Great setting with a lush green backyard along a creek.
- 5/5
Very clean. Nice staff. Would definitely recommend
- 5/5
Super quiet area with very clean rooms. Super nice staff and close to nice amenities in town.
- 5/5
Clean room - door did not have a deadlock so we had to put the desk in front of it so no one broke in
- 4.5/5
I like staying here! It's always nice and clean, peacefully quiet and affordable! The managers are always courteous and accommodating. Can't think of anything
- 5/5
Super clean. All around. Beautiful setting; equipped with all amenities with a 30s/40s twist. Magical! The owners are awesome, along with the crew. Friendly, punctual, and can’t say enough. Almost don’t wanna say anything to keep this gem a secret… but here I go. Thanks for everything, guys! Cheers & blessings always ??✨ No complaints.
- 5/5
Very quiet area, love the little porch off my room. The staff was so kind and eve offered me an upgraded room. Like having the sitting area. Great price compared to other hotels in the area.
- 2/5
Very little parking. Checked in late due to road closure delays. Room keys were oncounter but front desk woman was clearly not understanding her job. Had to continually remind her of who I was. Had to stand in cold outside at midnight waiting to check in. Room was filthy with hair clumps on clean towels on shelves. Dirty socks from previous guests on floors. Pretty shabby for $250 per night!!
- 5/5
The room and all the appointments were immaculate. This room was nicer, better maintained , than the Hyatt Regency I stayed at earlier in the week for less than one quarter the cost!
- 4/5
The room was clean. Service was good as well.
- 5/5
Clean and convenient room, good microwave, refrigerator, and TV which was easy to use and had great channel selection. The towels were super and the staff nice. The picture window has a beautiful view. This motel is very convenient and comfortable. Thanks for the nice stay.
- 4/5
Quaint, old fashioned motel surprisingly updated!! Excellent craftsmanship on the recent remodel, which was well decorated and furnished (photos did not lie). Upcoming updates to systems and room layout will make it an exceptional location. Creek out the back door (great place to drink your morning coffee, except in the winter, so we'll have to go back again). Location is quiet and close to stores, shops and restaurants. Friendly owners/staff. Nice stop after the mountain pass and easy access to Woodinville and Everett.
- 5/5
Comfy bed also!!
- 1.5/5
Sketchy
- 4/5
close to hyway 2 and road to pretty bird. bath could use a vanity, no where to lay combs and brushes.
- 2.5/5
The bed and bedding The price is too high in my opinion The woman at the front desk gave incorrect information. She was too lazy to verify the information she gave me . Which proved to be incorrect when I took it upon myself to get verification on-line and with the owner the following days I reviewed my cc statement and found the motel has charged me for 4 nights when I stayed only 3 nights. I called the motel office and the same woman answered the phone. I asked to speak with the owner. She askes me what for ? I told her She hung up the phone . I called back immediately and no one picked up my calls. I keft 2 vm . Its been 4 days and have yet to have a return call . The owner is very nice and runs the business very well ....that is when he is the one making decsions.
- 4/5
No A/C, the room, the bathroom, and the furniture is not handicap friendly. Access to the property is on a limited site turn.
- 5/5
it was good
- 4/5
The overall aesthetics were great, and the bed was comfortable!
- 5/5
Clean fresh great management All good
- 5/5
Very clean, updated, nice.
- 3/5
Friendly staff. This is an RV/old motel resort on a creek on the edge of town. The setting through the window was nice. Many guests appear to be full time or long term renters. You check in from outside on a porch through a glass window. Our room was clean enough but very musty smelling. The room had all the amenities: newer micro, fridge, new coffee maker, nice coffee selection.
- 4/5
It was a quiet, modest and clean room and the creek was a pleasant bonus. The staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Large rooms, well appointed, backed up to a creek
- 5/5
Clean room, great outside area nice peaceful stay.
- 3/5
The room was okay. There was no other lock protection on the room other than the doorknob.
- 5/5
I’m really glad I stumbled across this motel, what an awesome little hidden treasure! The lady at the office was very kind and accommodating. I was in town for a race and knew I would be dirty afterwards and need a shower and wouldn’t make the check out time. She told me not to worry about it! I also lost my key and she was kind enough to let me use another one (thankfully I ended up finding the first one too). The room was in excellent condition and you can tell that the housekeeper Roni takes pride in making sure that everything is super clean and tidy. I was lucky enough to run into her on my way out and apologize for leaving the towels so dirty and she was such a nice person to chat with. If you’re looking for that home away from home feel, this is a great spot with a great staff!
- 4/5
Yes I do
- 3/5
Interior was updated with 3 sleeping options. Refrigerator, microwave. View out back slider was good. Staff was friendly and helped with AC issue. Shares property with a permanent resident trailer park. Had no issues, but some hung out in parking lot barbecuing. AC was held in window by a stick and a piece of cardboard covered the open space. It didn’t work at first but staff came and helped and got it working. No deadbolt on the door. Very pricey for location and motel with the things mentioned above.
- 0.5/5
The lady who ran the place was pleasant. The motel reminded me of the Bates motel in Psycho. My door didn't lock, my room was musty, the air conditioner didn't work. It was located in the middle of a trailer park.
- 1.5/5
The 2nd room was good to stay in. The lady was nice that helped us at the window. It wasn’t a bad stay the lady was nice and helpful. But The first room they gave us was dirty it had dirty towels with makeup all over it they were laying on the bathroom floor. It looked like someone just got done taking a shower before we came in. It seemed like the room wasn’t cleaned before check in. We were given a new room after she told us her cleaning lady must be slacking. she also went to check the others rooms she was thinking about giving us. But the new room they gave us was ok to stay in for the night, it was clean, beds were made and had all the needs like a regular hotel room.
- 1/5
It’s so quiet and cute NA
- 5/5
I've stayed here before and I was just as happy this time. Really great place, don't judge the outside the inside totally fantastic. Not a thing
- 5/5
Cute little motel off the beaten path and it backs up to the river. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the sound of the running river to sleep to was amazing.
- 5/5
Check in was easy and the room was nice, but the drain was full of hair in the shower
- 5/5
An unassuming property but the room was updated, very clean, quiet, very comfortable bed,and friendly staff. A 20min walk to historic downtown. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
My family and i stayed for 5 nights and was very pleased with our staff. We were running late to check in and they were kind enough to wait for us. We will be staying again when we visit Washington
- 5/5
We do an event in Monroe 2x a year and have now stayed at this motel twice. It is really affordable, comfortable, clean and quiet. The owner is very friendly and accommodating with our sometimes late check-ins. This is now our go-to place to stay for our events in this area.
- 5/5
We have stayed many times, and will return again.
- 3/5
Unit toilet ran. Heater is very loud. Unit was musty
- 5/5
Excelente servicio
- 5/5
Management goes above and beyond! Bed is luxury hotel comfortable, amazingly so. Room big and spacious. I will return for sure.
- 4/5
Easy parking for mobility impaired. Great bed and sheets perfect. Heater bass needs maintenance.
- 4/5
It was very hot with no way that I could see to adjust the temperature, so I turned of the gas to the heater. I was also not a fan of the sheets smelling like a chlorinated pool.
- 5/5
I love staying here but the last unit i stayed in wasnt as clean as the rooms attached to the office. Road is also really noisy.
- 5/5
Really nice place, the staff were extremely friendly and very accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Simply a great place in Pasco that was more than we expected! Can’t wait to stay again
- 5/5
Family owned, very friendly & helpful. The best thing for us is the grassy area out back, right at our sliding glass door, for our dog to walk along the river.
- 5/5
Rates reasonable. Lots of towels. Door opens to grass pottying area that was free of dog droppings.
- 4/5
Perfect for people traveling with well behaved dogs. Very accessible with spacious rooms. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
The manager Mathew was wonderful and upgraded our room. The view from our room was beautiful. Housekeeping was great. We were close to everything. We will definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Quiet, clean and friendly
- 4/5
We have stayed at this location multiple times and we will definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
You get what you pay for. Basic room for reasonable price.
- 5/5
Perfect place
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable at a reasonable rate.
- 4/5
Room is a good size, it was clean and it’s nice to be able to park right next to your door. It also had a nice patio area right next to a river.
- 5/5
This was one of the nicest motels I have had the pleasure of staying at. At first glance it doesn't look like much. The gentleman that checked us in was pleasant and efficient. His dog Cherry was adorable and eager to greet me. The room was spacious with plenty of accommodations, it really had a home away from home feel. As a bonus the slider door opens into a nice yard with a decent creek running behind the property. Overall, the price was reasonable and the room and property far exceeded my expectations. I will definitely consider another stay at this location!
- 4/5
The property was perfect lodging for a Spartan race I ran. Matthew was very friendly and accommodating.
- 4/5
The room was amazing. It’s definitely off putting due to the trailer park. But I didn’t have any issues there.
- 5/5
Great place, close to town so easy to go grab dinner, or grocery shopping. Stayed one night
- 3/5
My husband and I liked are stay, fairly average place. The lady who does check-in was really nice though! Was conveniently located.
- 2/5
Very pricey for what it is. Dirty bathroom
- 5/5
Would stay there again.
- 2/5
Air conditioner didn’t work. Blow drier didnt work. I called to get an early check in and desk lady said, no problem then upon arrival, room not ready.
- 4/5
This is always our top choice when staying in Monroe.
- 5/5
This is my favorite property in Monroe! Owner is super friendly and nice. The creek behind the rooms is a lovely feature. Beds are comfy as well.
- 4/5
Area that I feel safe at
- 5/5
Beautiful and relaxing. Loved being right on the river. Staff was great!
- 5/5
It a little odd on the outside and so is the location, but the rooms are super clean, and cozy. Staff is very helpful as well. I would definitely stay there again
- 4/5
Room was very clean, owner was so nice. When we drove up I was nervous. Exterior has several trailers that people live in and a couple manufactured houses and they were just a bit run down, but the actual motel buildings were near and tidy. We will be staying here whenever we come to visit my son.
- 5/5
Perfect little get away
- 5/5
A decent locally owned motel. Great value and great service. I do recommend.
- 3/5
Good service but the room smelled like mildew and unpainted drywall patch in the bathroom. Not worth 155 a night, maybe 85
- 5/5
The room was quite large with 2 double beds, couch, end tables, fridge , microwave and lots of space. Very spacious with a sliding glass door that led to the covered patio. We also spent time at the creek watching the Salmon, added bonus for us. Great place if you have kids to run around. The owners were also very accommodating as we were early. We will definitely be back! I just wish we had more tome there as we were there for a wedding.
- 5/5
Not much to look at as you drive up, but room was excellent. Very clean. Nicely appointed.
- 4/5
Quaint older motel. Will likely stay again.
- 4/5
Monroe Motel is a simple, straightforward lodging solution, sharing a lot with a trailer park. The normal little signs of age and austerity (moldy grout in shower, no deadbolt or chain door locks, no counter in bathroom for toiletries) are present, but staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful, TV had a bunch of channels, bed was comfy, and our room had a window unit A/C which more than sufficed to keep us comfortable. This is a small town motel, and it feels like a small town motel. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
My room was immaculate and comfortable, and opened onto a nice big lawn area with a creek. Also the property manager was very helpful and knows a lot about the area. Highly recommend a stay in this classic mom and pop hotel. Great bargain.
- 4/5
It was great
- 5/5
We had a great stay at the motel. The room had very comfy beds and plenty of space, the river right behind the room is very nice. The only drawback is there is no A/C available, and it was 80 degrees this weekend, we opened a window at night but it was still very hot inside our room. Other than that it's close to everything, staff is friendly, pets welcome. We would definitely stay there again, just not in hot weather.
- 5/5
Was clean, quiet convenient
- 4/5
It was clean, nice bed. It’s a bit out of date, old, but I think it sort of added to its charm. It’s appears to be part of a trailer park which seemed odd, but it was nice and quiet.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly, room was clean, bed very comfortable. I will stay here again next time I am in town.
- 5/5
The room was great! There was plenty of room for the 3 of us, yard and creek in the back with direct access from our room, paved walkway along the back with chairs provided by the hotel, and in a quiet area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free parking was provided at our room door. No disturbances of any kind.
- 2/5
It was a very hot day when I was staying at the motel. The room did not have air conditioning. Also the shower faucet did not function correctly-it was either scalding or ice cold and no in between. Will not return
- 5/5
Easy, friendly check-in, and the room opened onto a small patio with chairs and a wide green lawn bordering a creek. Lovely stay.
- 5/5
excellent place for its value...
- 3/5
We arrived around 2:35 or so we got keys went inside and the room had not been cleaned full garbage cans, beds were messy and dirty towels on the bathroom floor used soap in the tub. It was obvious that housekeeping had not been in. I called the number and they cleaned it up I was on my way to an event so I was not going to need the room right away so when I got back it was tidy. Just something that I had never experienced but the man who answered was nice. The room was descent for the price and near the event and shopping centers very convinient and quiet.
- 5/5
Fun place with a babbling brook behind it. Very helpful staff!
- 4/5
It was quiet and clean.
- 4/5
Good: It was clean and quiet with a stream behind the room. The manager was very nice and helpful. Good bed, linens and towels. Not so good: They just need more money to paint and get rid of old carpets. It's not pretty to drive into because it's also a trailer park, but it's a well maintained, improving property. Well go back.
- 5/5
Very clean, lighting could be better.
- 4/5
Friendly staff for our late arrival. Incredible location next to a creek. So quiet we slept comfortably and deeply.
- 5/5
I had a late check in. They were very accommodating. The stay was quiet and enjoyable.
- 4/5
Close to town and restaurants and grocery stores.
- 3/5
This place is literally right in the middle of a low rent trailer park. Shame on me for not looking at street view. At first glance the room was not bad, until I noticed the clean but stained linen on the bed, dirty tile in the bath, and the pealing paint in the shower. Price point is not that much lower than much better nearby accommodations so next time I will pass.
- 5/5
Classic 1950's or so hotel. quiet, comfortable, close to where I needed to be. No issues for me the two nights I was there..
- 5/5
Nice, clean room on quiet property. The check=in person could have been friendlier but all in all a good stay.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff, comfy bed, cozy little room
- 3/5
The motel has been there for a long time - decades. And, it shows. At least in our room it did. This isn't all bad. 1970s decor (or earlier) is OK. But, there is no AC. And, the carpet in our room needed replacing, badly. No matter what attempts to clean are made that carpet is beyond help. That said, the motel served its purpose. You can tell the motel once had a heyday - the creek running out back is still pretty nice.
- 5/5
Good value!
- 4/5
good!
- 5/5
My flight got in several hrs after office hrs closed. They had someone waiting to give me my key. Nothing but polite and friendly. I will definitely stay there again on my next visit.
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay here. No issues at all really. Would stay here again if I needed to. Just make sure you get some snacks and drinks for the night at a store down the street especially if you don’t have a rental vehicle. I walked myself at 30 and enjoyed the night walk, but if you don’t much enjoy walking at night for about a quarter mile you should stock up early. Otherwise, really nice place and stay.
- 5/5
Great value. Close to Mine street and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful manager.
- 5/5
Sweet place. Very quiet. Big rooms. Welcoming staff.
- 4/5
Great ambiance with river in back ground. Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Cute little place!!! Very quiet. Very nice staff. The place is...uh, let’s call it “retro”. Nothing fancy. We will most likely stay here again.
- 5/5
Very nice, slightly older place but ecellently kept up. I will return and highly recommend to everyone.
- 5/5
The fact that you want to place a limit on my review is a big turn off.
- 5/5
there is no long hallways & elevaters here, open cottages & river front!! very knoledgeable & friendly Mamagement!! Youll love it & remember it!! Allways come back Here!!
- 5/5
Good location for quiet rest. Why should my comment be restricted to a minimum number of characters???
- 5/5
This place is very clean and comfortable. A great deal for the price, I'll stay there again gladly!
- 3/5
Property was out in the middle of nowhere. The walls were thin. We could here the snoring in the next room
- 5/5
It was quiet and restful. That's all I want to say.
- 4/5
This is your basic no frills motel. Clean quiet and comfortable. I would stay again.
- 5/5
The room we stayed in was roomy, even with two twin beds and a sofa. The best part was the lovely view at the back of the room, looking out through a sliding glass door, over trees and a grassy verge beyond which is Wood Creek . It felt very private. Even though the motel is off Hwy 2, it was only a minute or two to the center of town I'm looking forward to another opportunity of staying at the Monroe Motel.
- 5/5
Older drive up motel that has been well maintained. Nicely decorated room with comfortable furniture. Very pleasantly surprised when I opened the door to this cozy, quiet room.
- 5/5
It was great. It's off the main road and away from the railroad tracks which is nice. Rooms were spotless and they were very nice there. We have already made reservations for next year there
- 5/5
It worked for my purpose. Don't really like to be specified a message length.
- 4/5
Bathroom tub has been painted and is pealing off. Also the vanity leg is rotting and has black mold. The grout in front of thre tub is black and gross.
- 4/5
Quiet, simple property with nice rooms. Clean and the microwave was a bonus. Excellent for the price
- 3/5
the carpet was needing replaced I wouldn’t walk bare foot on it, bedding was clean, no a/c or wall fan, just a portable fan, they charged 50$ pet fee, but cut the price in half sense we crated our dog, but considering the shape of the carpet and cleanliness of the room it self, charging a pet fee sounded absolutely, ridiculous (just saying) But on that note staff was awesome, upgraded our single bed to two bed last min, charged a upgrade fee (totally fine) and was super helpful in locating places that we needed... def not the cleanest updated place but cool location with the creek, but prob look else where next time.
- 3/5
Otherwise room was basic but fine
- 3/5
I made a timing error in booking. Monroe displayed good flexibility in dealing with this. We'll be there to thank them in September.
- 4/5
Love the property and proprietor, but the attached trailer park is a little sketch.
- 4/5
I liked that it was pet friendly. The property was well taken care of.
- 3/5
I’ve stayed here twice before and really liked it. Quiet, laidback and friendly. Check in was great. The room was comfy. The heater worked fine Friday night and Saturday morning. Saturday night I had a lot of trouble getting it to work and then it was full blast. Sunday morning it didn’t work at all. I didn’t get a chance to tell anybody in the office Sunday morning because there wasn’t anybody in the office. I also didn’t get to tell them about the icky goo on the carpet beneath the refrigerator door. The heat being out and the fact that house keeping didn’t clean the room, because in the words of the lady in the office “I guess she didn’t show up today” means I will find other accommodations the three times a year I visit Monroe.
- 5/5
Management was so helpful and courteous . We were so pleasantly surprised with the beauty of the room and motel grounds. It is a short hop skip and a jump to town....just far enough out to have peace and quiet, but close enough to trek to town for business. Wonderful staff! We will stay there again!
- 4/5
I was in town for Spartan races. I had a comfortable bed to sleep in and was a short drive from all the amenities I needed.
