Reviews
The hotel staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. The location is also a high point, with many guests appreciating its proximity to various attractions and transportation options. However, the size of the rooms and the speed of the elevators are frequent complaints. Breakfast is generally well-regarded, but some guests express concerns about the environmental impact of disposable plates and cutlery.

The room was too small and the AC did not work and with temperatures approaching and exceeding 90 degrees each day it was to say the least unbearable. Only on Thursday morning when the outdoor temperature dropped was the room temperature acceptable. B/T/W my work requires that I travel throughout the country and I m sad to say this was one of the worst experiences I have had in all my travels. Sorry to have to say this but it is in your best interests to hear the truth. The only positive was those employees I encountered were very nice and friendly people

Good location, free hot breakfast of middling but acceptable quality (usually eggs, potatoes, and bacon/sausage, fresh fruit, pastries, toast, oatmeal, cold cereal, coffee, tea, juice) decent location half way between Central Park and Hudson River Greenway, nice downstairs bar area for hanging out/eating takeout meals Tight quarters both in the room and downstairs. It seemed I was always stepping around things just to cross a room. The hotel is about three loooong blocks away from the nearest subway station

Liked the upkeep and service. Liked the far west, out of the way location: though a walk to transit, quieter and less of a zoo. Too few elevators cause lots of delays, but that’s a common problem in NY hotels.

Their breakfast buffet is great, offers a variety of different things to choose from. I will definitely be staying there again.
- 5/5
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I stayed for two nights as a solo traveller, and while the room was small it was clean, warm, and quite nice. The bed was comfortable, too. I also had control over my own thermostat which was unexpected but I was very grateful for. As for the bathroom, there was reliable access to hot water, plenty of clean towels, and a hairdryer that worked well. My only note was that the shower door did not close all the way, but that didn’t really cause me any issues. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the continental breakfast was a nice thing to have too. It was quite inexpensive considering the area (only a few blocks from the Lincoln Centre and Central Park), and was exactly what I needed! There was also 24 hour service at the desk, and a locked door only openable by guests with a key card to access the elevators/rooms, which helped me feel very safe staying here. I would most definitely stay again, and highly recommend for anyone looking for an affordable hotel stay while in Manhattan.

Love this hotel. We've been here once before and this time for our honeymoon. Had top floor with nice city view. Always clean rooms and friendly staff. Not far away from subways and local food spots.

when I arrived, Brian was outstanding at the reception desk
- 4.5/5
Ate out but room and location were fine. Close to Lincoln Center. One of only two elevators was working the day we checked out. The ride up and down to the 18th floor took quite awhile with everyone using one elevator at check-out time.
- 5/5
Handled blizzard crowd smoothly and cheerfully. Elevators are worst in the world. I always ask for a low floor so walking down is easy. Always an amazing breakfast.
- 5/5
Great Breakfast, for NY, nice size rooms, good showers
- 3/5
Winter needs heavy blankets in the room, also did not like the room next to the elevator. I made my reservation so early yet that is what I got!
- 4.5/5
The elevator rugs were always in need of vacuuming.
- 3.5/5
Check in and Check out was an easy process, love that you have to scan hotel key to get to elevator... it was great that they allow free bag check and hold bags if you need to check out early or if you arrive earlier than check in . I paid for a city view room and had no view, the room was TINY. The beds were NOT king size beds as I am 6'2 and did not fit on the bed if i knew the beds were going to be small i would have booked a double room. No microwave in the room, no where to really store luggage during the stay.

The room was small but very confortable. The breakfast was the best hotel buffet I have ever been to.
- 3/5
Rooms and beds were extremely small. Conway does it fit a family of 4, unless your children are very young.
- 1/5
This is the worst experience I’ve had in NYC. A tiny room like a basement and very stuffy. I paid over $200 for a terrible night here. There was no great view like in their advertising photos
- 5/5
A solid hotel. Clean, decent room. Good breakfast that includes hot food. It would be nice if they had hand lotion in the room.
- 5/5
Johnnie- the person that checked us in and out was professional and delightful. He made sure that our room met our needs and directed us to an excellent restaurant in the area for lunch. We definitely recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
This hotel was a great choice. There were no hidden fees, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, and the overall experience was very pleasant. We will definitely be staying here again.
- 4/5
The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more thoughtful. The breakfast good. Very good coffee. Good location. Our room was freezing the first night but they brought extra blankets. We were on the 2nd floor so we could walk up and down the stairs and didn’t have to wai for the very slow elevator. It was my sister l’s birthday and they brought her a little cake with a sweet card.

- 4/5
The room was clean and comfortable. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
A clean and pleasant property with helpful, friendly staff—the hotel’s most valuable asset, in my opinion. However, getting to and from the room was somewhat inconvenient due to how the elevator access system works. It seems the hotel may have experienced security issues in the past and implemented a system that, while understandable, feels a bit complicated for guests.
- 5/5
Service was amazing!
- 3/5
Hotel was very full but only had 1 working elevator, and guests needed to call down to send the elevator up - waited 20 mins on the 18th floor one morning.
- 5/5
Clean quiet room. Friendly helpful staff.
- 4/5
Every thing was good. but unfortunately we have a problem at home and had to cancel our last day
- 4/5
A nice clean room. Front desk staff was awesome!
- 2/5
While the room was clean very small for amt I paid. Worst experience was inconvenience of non working elevators.
- 2/5
First, the elevator was broken. They had staff run it, you had to request a pick up 7:30a-8:30p, prime time. But they weren't trained well and didn't use critical thinking, so they were running pick ups so inefficiently, that we waited forever. The pillows were super lumpy, and the room was so small (NYC, I get it), but it was set up poorly and I smacked my head on an ill-placed cabinet next to my bed. Things they couldn't do much about are t in the area. It's not very efficient and not very neighborhood-like.
- 2/5
Arrived late enough in the day room should of been waiting instead we had to wait for our room
- 5/5
Loved everything about this hotel !! The staff was accommodating and very nice! My son and I stayed there because it is a half a block from Mount Sinai West where my son is getting treated. I will definitely stay there again !! One small issue was only having one elevator operating but that wasn’t a huge drawback for me!!
- 4/5
Clean rooms. Loved that they aren’t carpeted. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Very convenient to Lincoln Center where we were attending an event.
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff was great. The elevator was broken and we weren’t notified before we arrived. It was a little annoying having to call for the elevator every time we needed to go up or down. Otherwise it was a great experience.

- 4/5
Perfect location, within walking distance of most sights. Great staff who were so pleasant, friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
The hotel is located in a quiet street next to some warehouses so the area is kind of dark. The room is clean but small. The breakfast is basic but pretty good. The major complaint that I have is their elevator problem. There are two elevators but only one works. Also, between 7:30 am-8:30 pm guests need to call the front desk to ask for the elevator to stop at their floor. The day I was checking out I had to wait for almost five minutes for the elevator to stop at my floor because there was a great demand for the elevator use.
- 1/5
Nnnnn
- 2/5
The room was decent. I had a pretty good view as well for the one night I stayed, but what was the issue was elevator had to be used manually. I find that ridiculous considering the amount of money I was supposed to pay for my 4 night stay.
- 2/5
Broken elevator, 20 min waits plus to get up and down
- 2/5
To go downstairs, you have to call for the elevator nearly took me 45 minutes just to get down
- 4/5
Everything was convenient and well done. Wished the elevators were both working :(.
- 2/5
The AC is so loud even on with the fan on low speed or auto. The room is unbelievable small. Only two feet space between the bed and the bathroom door. Closet is only 18 in wide! Very disappointing stay
- 3/5
One of the elevators were going through maintenance and the other was being opperated by the security guard. We had to call the front desk every time we needed the elevator. The parking was a mess. Says it is provided by the hotel, it is not. They have an arrangement with a garage a block away for $48 a night. Problem was i called and asked where i should park and the front desk told me its the garage located on 58th st between 10th and 9th ave. They did not tell me the name or the actual address of the garage and of course we pulled into another garage where they said that yes the worked with that hotel, they did not. Charged us $100 to park there for 24 hours. If you stay here make sure to get the actual garage address so you dont make the mistake we did.
- 5/5
Great location and friendly staff.
- 1/5
I booked two rooms at an outrageous price to take my elderly mother to see her great grandson. Primarily because it’s in close proximity to his apartment. The elevator was still broken down (it was when we stayed there two months ago) and the rooms are so small you have no room to unpack and have to put suitcases on the dresser/desk which makes it difficult to get to the bathroom. At 800.00 per night, expected better.
- 1/5
No elevator. Staff was rude
- 4/5
It was good for what we needed prior to cruise.
- 1/5
Front desk personnel were inconvenienced by questions. Rooms extremely small. Inoperable elevators. Overpriced for the amenities, or lack thereof.
- 5/5
Will return
- 5/5
The elevator is out of service and manually operated during daytime hours.
- 2/5
Starting with their unfriendly loading area, this place was one disappointment
- 4/5
Elevator under service the whole stay made for long waits an inconvenient especially being on the 18th floor. Staff worked hard to do their best with the situation.
- 1/5
One dead elevator and one that only worked with an operator making people wait and my65 year old husband had to walk 12 flights! They also did not regent the second night when I said I had to leave.

We stayed one night. The check in process went smoothly. Unfortunately, when we went into our room, there was a strong odor that caused my husband to have a reaction, that had him coughing and not being able to breath. I called the front desk and they were able to change our room which was better. I'm not sure what the odor was, but it was very unpleasant and almost ruined our trip.
- 2/5
Room size was very small for 2 people. Elevator was out and had been for over a month. On the 15 th floor had to either walk down or wait for only other operating elevator for long periods of time only to have it already full with people from other floors
- 5/5
Staff was friendly
- 1/5
We have been staying at this property because of it's proximity to a job site on and off for almost a month. For the entire month the location has been having issues with it's elevator(s). On Thursday August 28th, 2025, both elevators were totally down - room on the 16th floor & had to do the steps. It's not a new issue. We have been forgiving for the past few weeks - but they need to get the problems with the elevators corrected.
- 2/5
Room area too small
- 4/5
Location is safe but not very close to subway or attractions Old building and elevator was not working
- 5/5
Excellent service and help at the front desk. They were able to help with an early check in and getting us to the airport
- 4/5
The lady that was cleaning the rooms on the 7th floor was very helpful even though we couldn’t understand each other. The 2 guys that worked the bar were fantastic. The hotel was clean and safe.
- 2/5
Nothing to complain about the room, breakfast was also great. But the elevator situation was chaotic during my staying, one of the elevators was broke, and it took us more than 30min to get down- I was staying at the 13th floor. It was a very unpleasant experience for me and my boyfriend, we had to walk down and up stairs for 13 floors in order to make our trip worth.
- 4/5
Quiet/Great location/room clean/breakfast good/outdoor seating area nice/staff not super friendly/front lobby crawling with ants

Positive: helpful, friendly staff. Large lobby area. Easy registration. Very clean. Quiet. Felt safe with security at locked entry to elevators.Typical small NYC rooms.

- 4/5
This is a great stay for a good price in Manhattan. It’s a little walk away from any subway, but it’s a nice area so perfectly safe. The hotel needs more elevators - one broke when we were there, leaving only one. It took 15 minutes to get down to breakfast so will be difficult for those with accessibility needs.
- 3/5

Lovely clean room, it was overlooking the main road so not able to open the curtains to enjoy the light, but the room did what we needed. Breakfast was very good and had a wide range of options and was fully stocked. It was a very busy breakfast area but as expected. The hotel was located close to the park and a good spot for people who like to walk as it was a few blocks away from a subway. I would recommend.

I paid $500+ per night. the room was very small. it had just one small drawer under one of the night tables. there was no place to put anything. Awful. Never again. nm

Great location. Very clean and new feeling. Rooms (by New York standards) not too small! Great views. Just a few minutes to walk to Columbus Circle and Central Park. Generous and well cared for breakfasts. Our ONLY complaint (as we had read about this beforehand) is that there are only two elevators, and they run VERY slowly; so you can easily wait awhile for it to come to your floor, and sometimes a very slow journey up and down as it ponderously wonders about how slowly it can open and close its doors. There is a sign saying that it is slow for safety reasons, but it truly is unusually slow. Apart from this however, no complaints at all and would gladly stay here again.

Location is great, 12 min from Lincoln Ctr, 10min from Columbus Circle. However elevators are unacceptable, very slow and do not stop on some floors, i used a staircase. Bathroom design poor, no space for cosmetics, no space to put towels on, even though some empty corners were available to install shelves. No isolated business ctr. Overall mediocre experience.
- 5/5
We had the nicest check-in process we have ever had at a hotel--the woman at the front desk was lovely and helpful! The room was a little bit on the small side, but that is to be expected for NYC. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean.
- 4/5
Property was a little older but the staff and quietness made up for it.
- 5/5
Perfect location for a 1 night stay before a cruise. But wouldn’t recommend the area otherwise. Hotel is simple & clean no frills
- 5/5
The staff at reception are great, the staff at breakfast were great, very attentive and efficient. However the housekeeping team who kept our room clean were outstanding!! 👏 The room truly was spotless every day when we came back from a busy day in the city. The only downside is the lack of a nearby metro station, however that is not the hotels fault!!
- 5/5
This was a great location within walking distance to so much! The bar staff was amazing!
- 5/5
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Convenient location for site seeing and stores near by for necessities. Many places to eat near by as well.
- 5/5
Nice hotel in a nice area, near central park. Hotel is about a 12 min walk from the nearest train station. Also, only 2 elevators. Be in mind if you book a higher up floor.
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly and the rooms were nice. No loud noises and safe area.
- 5/5
Prices were fair for it being central to a lot of activities
- 5/5
Very good.
- 5/5
On weekend there is free street parking in front of hotel. Very convenient to Lincoln Center, upper west side, Columbus circle and Times Square. Hotel has a boutique feel and very good breakfast included. I will stay here again.

Overall, excellent in every way. Only thing I didn’t like was the lack of a dresser in the rooms. Why??? It’s so difficult to keep things organized.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. I love that they let us check in in the morning instead of waiting until later in the afternoon. They also allow for us to keep our bags in the hotel after we checked out so that we wouldn’t have to lug them around the city until it was time for us to go home

Hotel was average. Yhe free breakfast was good, lots of choices. The evators were very slow, lobby was not comfortable to hang out in, it was freezing cold. Location is not very close to attractions as adverisec on their site.

I stated this property because of the price and because it was close enough to the cruise port for an easy embarkation. Next time I go to New York for a cruise, I will stay there again!

only downside was noisy heater.
- 5/5
Good place, if you don't mind the 7-10 min walk to trains.

There were two elevators that were extremely so. One broke, then the other, then they fixed one. The wait was unacceptable.
