Thought i was staying in a half way house

I'm giving it a half star as you see in pictures that's what the bathroom sink looked like when we stayed then the fridge didnt work the tv you couldn't turn volume up or down, the Electric went out at 11:30 pm, woke up to no hot water to be able to take a shower we go to check out and told the man that and he says you do now. so you turn the hot water off so people have to wait for you to turn hot water on in the morning!!! Needless to say we were supposed to stay another night but this is my husband's and my 1st wedding Anniversary tomorrow and we were not staying another night in this place! Oh let's not forget the walls are paper thin and we could here the people in the next room laughing and carrying on half the night!! Dont waste your money!! Oh also the shower faucet shot water all over so even if we did have hot water we couldn't have even taken a shower!!

Everything was so dirty .The room smelled like urine and the blanket had hole of cigarettes. Everything was dirty not a place to stay. They do not wanna give me my refund back.

Swimming pool was not functioning, bathroom items were not stocked, refrigerator was not working properly. Ambience and lighting was poor.

Not safe, totally dirty, not even worth to spend $10 on this propert. Staff doesn’t respond, doesn’t even pick up the phone. Never suggesting this property.

I had to leave an hour later the check in, because this place is disgusting! I found hair all over the sheets, also was stained and bed bugs. Plus is an unsafe place.

This was the worst stay I’ve ever had. Room had a terrible smell, AC wasn’t cooling properly, room was full of humidity and water was leaking in restroom. When i requested the owner to change our room, he rudely denied saying ‘you should have asked within 5 minutes of checking in, now you’re just wasting my time’. He then offered to cancel in exchange of some cash but he gave us 5 minutes to decide. I was traveling with family and finding another place so quickly wasn’t possible. I wish i saw other reviews before booking this property. Never going back there again.

Good beds and parking included, poor cleanliness

Room smelled like a wet dog, sheets were stained, and the bathroom was horrible. Small ac window unit was not turned on until we arrived and failed to cool the room, at all. Shower knobs were busting through the wall and the water ran continuously. Would recommend paying a little more for another motel.

Mold on shower curtain, no toilet paper, the pool wasn't open, the microwave door fell off when you opened it.

It is a very dirty motel with dirty rooms and rude staff

I was very pleased with the price, however i booked soley on the fact that there was a pool advertised. The pool wasnt filled, probably due to some issues with it, and thats understandable. I had a nice stay, would have been nice if the office area had snacks or other amenities that may have been forgotten at home. As well as maybe a continental breakfast option, and room service daily for at least towels and wash clothes. Otherwise the stay was very nice and i would return again.

The staff is very nice five star for the guy. He was so nice with us.

No light fixture over bulbs, towels stuffed around wall a/c, looks like mold in the shower. Overall seemed grungy 1960s. They did offer a fan when the room was 85.

This motel should be removed from listing. The room was so filthy and smelling smoke so badly that we canceled our booking on the spot and booked another motel.

I had a terrible stay at this hotel. There was a lot of noise in the middle of the night which made it hard to sleep. The toilet was not mounted properly and felt unsafe to use. The swimming pool was broken and closed, which was very disappointing. Overall, nothing was as expected. I would not recommend staying here.

The room smelled of cigarette smoke, the carpet was very dirty, the walls had stains on them, as well as the linen. We had to walk over to the nearby Target, to buy our own linens to avoid having to use theirs. The furniture was dusty, and the television did not work. The service was non-existent, and its clear that their focus is on squeezing money out of this business instead of providing any level of quality hospitatility. In general, it did not feel safe. It seems like there are people who permanently stay there, or at least extended stays, drinking outside their rooms. It is what it is - I don't think you can expect too much given the price, but definitely stay at your own risk.

Got in late but Tareq went out of his to accommodate my stay. It worth what you pay honestly. Also the room has refrigerator and microwave, it’s actually better than other Inn around who charges more but don’t even have microwave in the room. Def will go back and stay here again. Thank you for checking me in so late and also let me check out a bit later. Appreciate it

Everything i needed was close by

So yes we knew we were staying in a motel. We got there and they handed me the key and said come and pay if you are happy with the room. Normally you pay on checkout but ok it’s $75USD. We checked the room, it had dirty floors and walls and the bathroom was small and the place needed a Reno but it’s one night. The bed looked clean. When we got back at 2am my wife pulled back the covers to a huge stain on the bedsheet. Like how did they not see this when putting it on? Anyway I slept on that side and next day I went to complain but the office was locked. I then contact hotels.com but they couldn’t do anything (they did ask for a refund but apparently I should have checked every nook and cranny before I agreed to pay) and because I paid the hotel they were stuck. So. Pay hotels.com for more protection and apparently get out your sleuthing kit and check everything. They complain they don’t get as much business for Canadians but if you keep the place like that I’ll be surprised if it stays in business for much longer. Do better. It’s in your best interests!

Arrived and room smelled of chemicals and had roaches. Toilet seat was not mounted to toilet. Very very disappointed and did not stay upon finding roaches. Left at 1am

It was gross. Stains everywhere. Floors were very dirty. There was black mold in the shower. The tv didn’t work. There were crumbs in the bed. It smelled like smoke even those it was non smoking. The walls had food and who knows what else on them. Don’t stay there unless you want bugs.

The room had an old smell, renovation to the motel will be helpful. Did not have a refrigerator or microwave as stated online.

Disliked : No one cleaned my room for 3 days/nights during my stay, Office was closed at night until late morning with no one available to answer questions. The window mesh was left broken. Their website says shuttle to Niagra falls is offered in summers but I had to take Uber in June 2025 since there was no shuttle. I think a single person traveling on a budget can stay here. If I was the owner I would make this a hostel with bunk beds and more facilities(such as subsidized breakfast, coffee , new carpet, kitchen, clean sheets everyday, laundry, a small cafeteria with food for sale).

Room was smelling so strong like someone is smoking. Flush was not working properly. Bed sheet not clean.

I won’t blame the property but our stay was a disaster as the persons in adjacent room were playing TV the whole night on high volume and we couldn’t sleep at all. The walls of the rooms are thin so you can hear everything. It was a very bad night for us!!! I would suggest that property should make a rule about quiet hours. We were exploring the Niagara Falls whole day and at night we want a good night sleep but it was disaster. We literally thought of leaving the property in night itself.

Started off that they could not find the key to my room. Room was small, but clean, or so I thought. Neighbor in next room played rap music all night. In the morning, no hot water for shower. Now I have what looks like bug bites over my right eye. Would never stay here again even if they offered me money.

The stay was exactly what I was expecting and they helped me out when I was going to be too late for check in when I called ahead of time to let them know.

The room was extremely dirty. Smell of smoke and marijuana everywhere. Neighbors smoke marijuana. Sheets were dirty and stained. No hot water at the shower. You can hear everything from next room vice versa

They sent me an email saying they're waiting for me to show up so they can give me a key. It took me twelve hours to get here and I arrived at 2:45 am to find out, i'm gonna have to go somewhere else for the night. I called four times no answer. I knocked on the windows and doors and rang the bell and I got nobody. Since there was no service provided, I expect a full refund per the law. I don't care what they're no refund policy says. They did not provide the service that I paid for. Therefore I am entitled to a full refund.

Mostly, I like the people

As a single male traveler, it met my needs perfectly and was an excellent value. If my wife had been with me, she might not have been as happy. Less than ten minutes to the falls.

Very basic great owners very friendly but rooms are very basic and dated only 4 channels in the room . But on the good side great location for shopping and dinning . Probably a good option for a night if u are shopping or dinninv in the area

I have never written a bad review before. Normally I just move along with the "at least I know for next time" mentality but I think an honest review is needed, as I relied on other's reviews when I chose to book at this place. The room was so dirty, stains every where, garbage from delta sonic in the closet, no toilet paper. No outlet to charge my phone except for in the bathroom. I had to go to target to pick up bathroom essentials. It was a cold and rainy night and only 40 degrees outside. I could not find a heater in the room. There was an a/c unit in the window, but no heat unit anywhere. I went to the front desk around 8:00 pm to ask where the heat was or maybe get another room with heat, but no one was to be found, and after I waited at the front desk next to the door of shattered glass for 10 minutes, I then went back to my room. I tried to sleep but it was too cold for that. I started my vehicle, and then decided to drive home that night. The positive side is that I got a good portion of my money refunded, not all, but I had booked 3 nights so it was good to get something back. Another pro, no bed bugs.

Clean room, dated white sheets & pillow cases. 4 channels available on TV & no remote. Walls were non insulated between rooms so you could hear if more than just talking normal. No complaints as I got what I paid for, no frills or thrills. Thats why its a budget friendly motel. Sure other motels/hotels avail in area but at 2-3x the price. Just needed a place to sleep & shower.

Motel is unmaintained, rooms were very dirty, beds not clean, sheets and blankets not clean.

The room was extremely small, dirty carpet, no cable TV, poor AC, one lightbulb in bedroom, no place to put soap in the shower other than the floor. We don’t recommend this hotel even at $112.

The cable didn't work and there was not a remote. There was not a thermostat to adjust the heat. The AC unit didn't work. The neighbors were noisy. The walls were very thin. You could hear the neighbors while conversation. We could not get ice after hours since the office door was locked. But hey minus the ants the bed was comfy.

I opened the room. It was hot, water was running, went to ask the front desk about switching as there was no way to turn the heat off they shut the lights off. Still waiting on a refund because I did not stay. The conditions were unlivable.

Would stay here again but not long term as eating out would be costly.

The TV, fridge, and microwave were not usable because the outlet they were connected to was not working. I didn't inquire about a resolution because I was tired and ready for bed. Everything else in the room met expectations.

This is an older property with a dirty carpet. No fridge, no thermostat.

There was no one in the office when I tried to check-in. The office was locked. I was out in -18 degree Celsius for 15 minutes. A kind client in another room had to call the manager to help me.

If your picky for the money then move on.

After that the office was difficult to find someone to talk with; would not answer the phone. With that being said I would stay there again.

Simple plain small room. It's cheap. If you're judging this room against a chain for much more you're not paying attention. This is a cheap place to sleep.

No t.v shower leaked all over bedroom

Small and dirty. Very loud visitors all night. No cable. Only one towel for four people. Paid 150$ on Expedia and they only charge 60$ per their sign.

Room #19, the carpet was very dirty & filthy, it reaped of cigarettes, which I believed came from vents, bare room window, no curtains, and old dirty chairs. It was the worst condition ever experienced. I will never ever reserve a stay at the Swiss Cottage Inn. Just not acceptable for the price paid, very poor conditions. I had booked a 2 night stay, stayed first night but conditions made it impossible to stay another night there. I left very unhappy.

It was nice and and nice price. The employee greeted me by name and was very nice.

Very much run down. Cracks around room, carpet stains and patches, tiny bathroom stall, TV doesn’t work, top cover needs washing or replace.

It was very economical. Only thing I didn’t like was the smell of smoke in the room but I guess I’ll bring a can of aerosol next time.

Property was outdated and.not very clean at all. We waited for almost an hour before we could check in because the owner was not on site, and there are what appears to be permanent residense in some of the rooms a few of such people were even arguing about owing one another money for drugs ect.

Room really small. Shower backed up. Toilet would not shut off after flushing. No tv or cable. It’s ok if you just want to shower , sleep and leave for the day.

Kazi was the best host ever! He was so attentive, present, and helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. I would definitely recommend staying at this place and would go again in a heartbeat! Thank you for taking care of us!!!!

Owner was absolutely amazing. Basically became our concierge for everything Niagara Falls. Was very personable. Rooms were updated, clean, and well kept. Will definitely stay here again on our future trips.

The floor room and ready room wasn’t clean

Place is average, and check in was a little slow. Bed was comfortable, place use some maintenence but nothing crazy. Towels are rough and in need of something softer or less used. Check out is very simple leave keys near from door box.

This place is filthy. The towels were dirty, the shower was stained and the carpets looked like they haven't been cleaned in 30 years. The pillows were also stained with who knows what. There was what looks like a feces mark on the bathroom wall and a red stain on the bedroom wall that resembled dried marinara sauce. Also had no cable hooked up or basic antenna TV hooked up. Only 2 accessible and available plug sockets. Hand prints all over the walls. Cobwebs in corners on ceiling.

Beds needed to be changed just a lot of hair inside made bed . Tv didn’t work at all

Small hotel, nice pool. Room was clean and comfortable. Small bathroom and no cable tv but i knew that going in so wasnt a big deal to me.
