Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with guests appreciating the cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location close to attractions, dining, and shopping. However, there are consistent complaints about the lack of a fridge in the rooms, outdated facilities, and issues with parking. Some guests also reported problems with water availability and quality, as well as noise and temperature control in the rooms.

Location was perfect Beds, Carpet need cleaning

We love the location, it's very close to cliffton hills and surrounded by stores and restaurants No microwave, no fridge. Room is too dark with not enough light. The hotel building itself is clean. However the faucets are gross, they have hardened water build up. Needs to be upgraded, changed or cleaned. More concerning, family member noticed insect bites. While we did not see any bed bugs, the bites appeared after sleeping there, raising concerns about possible bed bugs, Which were hard to see due to the dark colored sheets. won't be returning.

At checkout, the employee told me that the manager’s policy was to charge anyone whose car remained after 11 a.m. I explained that I had checked out early, before 9:30 a.m., because I was traveling with two small kids and could not rush. Unfortunately, he said there was nothing he could do and that I would still be charged $15. We got to the car around 12:25 p.m., and I went back to the office one more time to ask if they could waive the fee. Again, the answer was no. I asked to speak with the manager, but no manager was on site. The hotel itself was okay, and I would not normally complain. However, this extra parking charge and the way the situation was handled made me feel that customer care was not important. I’m very disappointed. They lost a potential frequent customer over $15. It’s not about the money , it’s about how customers are treated.

I booked two rooms for one night. I would keep my car parked until around 12:30 p.m. after checkout, which is something I normally do when I book hotels with included parking. Room was good size n clean. Staff was courtious.
- 3/5
Not bad no fridge and no carpet but it was in great location and good customer service
- 3/5
It is a budget hotel for sure. It was very irritating to have driven over 3 hours to arrive and be denied check-in because check-in is EXACTLY at 3pm. We also had a change in plans and brought an extra guest with us and got charged an additional fee for the extra guest. I booked a two queen room, up to 4 guests should be permitted for the standard rate of the room! Overall, the room served its purpose, it is close to all the attractions of Niagra Falls.
- 3/5
Location is great & for the price you cant complain if youre on a budget. Hallways were overly hot, rooms were decent.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Clean, large, easy parking.
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, great location. Friendly staff.

Why required
- 5/5
Friendly staff, they assist myself and family with a couple of request 🙏
- 4/5
Good value for the price.
- 4/5
It was inconvenient that we had to go to the office to get ice. The heated pool was very cold also. It was a very convenient location. I also wish we had known there is no elevator.
- 4/5
The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable, property is well kept, the staff is very nice, and the convenience to Clifton Hill and the Falls is excellent. The only complaint is that the heated pool did not feel heated at all, it was not usable in our opinion.
- 4/5
Only thing was pool was cold this time around.
- 4/5
Check in was smooth, the rooms were clean, just steps away from Clifton Hills, very convenient location.
- 3/5
I like the location; very close to Clifton Hill and the attractions
- 4/5
The hotel was in a great location for activities for kids, restaurants, etc. It was also within walking distance to the bus that went to all of the major Niagara Falls tourist lications.
- 3/5
The carpet of the room need shampooing and insects were found inside the room. The entrance of the property was difficult to find. I had driven along Victoria Avenue several times but still I could not find it. Finally I had to call them to get the direction to the entrance.
- 4/5
We had no major issues. Clean, AC worked and staff were great. The wifi was basically non-existent and I couldn’t get a cell signal hence the ding on the facility. We could walkout to the falls easily. Is this the Ritz? Not even close however it is an affordable and well maintained option for those who just need a place to sleep.
- 4/5
Location ,safe
- 3/5
Needed more lighting in room. Fans were super noisy.
- 3/5
Requested for extra towel, one desk staff asked to self pick up (maybe just that staff, not the policy) Light at the outside sink broken
- 3/5
There was no continental breakfast.
- 5/5
The rooms are clean however the hotel is older dated but well kept very conveniently located. We are right across the road from the speedway on Clifton Hill very easy to walk to wherever we wanted to go even down to the Falls was not more than a 10 minute walk 15 at best this is the fourth time we stayed in this hotel and I’m sure we will be back again.
- 4/5
I'd recommend this place for sure if you are on a budget. Was well worth the money.
- 5/5
It’s nothing fancy or extravagant but the room was clean, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was within walking distance of almost every thing we had planned to see. Would definitely stay here again if we ever go back to Niagra.
- 5/5
Staff are very nice, clean rooms, walking distance to Niagara Falls it was amazing stay for sure will be back again and it’s very safe area… highly recommended.
- 4/5
The ac it’s noisy. That’s all. But we always stay here friendly and convenient
- 3/5
Pool water temp is cool.
- 3/5
Very convenient location
- 4/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
Good experience.
- 5/5
The room was surprisingly quiet considering the hotel being located right on Clifton. Surprising bonus for an economy stay is the pool. With an actual deep end no less. Pool and its area is well maintained and at a good temp. We will be returning to this location in our future visits.
- 4/5
The staff is excellent. The facility is all right, and quite good for the price.
- 4/5
The location is excellent, just 10 mins walk from Cruise point, a lot of restaurants and souvenir shops around. Just across the road of the all the fun activities. It is an old construction though, and did not have a fridge, but they do have provision for ice. If this is something that doesn’t matter to you, would totally recommend. The staff, Rahul, was very helpful and welcoming.

We booked from Thur to Sun. We checked in thur night and asked for DND. We came in late fri and went straight to sleep. When we woke on sat, patio door was smashed. We called reception and were told there was a crack in the patio door. When they came up they said it was our fault and had to pay a large sum right now or they would call police. The cleaner said it wasn’t like that yesterday but we requested DND so they shouldn’t have been there at all Friday so how do they know the condition as of Friday? They made us leave immediately and did not refund for the night we didn’t stay. We were fully cooperative, we told them about it and they still threatened to call police. The crack that was there made it fragile and they made us pay for the damage.
- 5/5
It worked for what we needed. Stayed 2 nights. Would stay here again.
- 3/5
For the price, and to stay at Clifton Hill, the hotel was was great. Free parking was definitely a plus. I liked the connecting room feature and the 2 sinks as well. Staff was very friendly. However, the rooms are outdated, the bed linen, the fixtures. It looks straight out of the 1980s. No microwave or refrigerator in the room and they give out bags of ice at the front desk. The inside heated pool was nice but the water level was really low during our 1 night stay. All in all, if you're looking for a very short stay right at Clifton Hill, this is the place. I think its a step up from a motel.
- 3/5
But no fridge ,or micro wave, .tv selection was yerribl
- 1/5
We stayed the night it was ok but it was first time weve been into this place and we noticed that they dont have microwave we had to ask the receptionist if we can warm my sons food very inconvinient and also there is no plug closer to bed to charge your phone.
- 4/5
The great: The room was QUIET. I slept well, except for my friend's snoring. The bad: I think there was three channels on the TV. I don't spend much time in the room except for sleeping, but it would be nice to have some TV to watch while I munch on my Uber Eats. (Really, why don't they put a free music channel or something? Music is great.) Questionable: There are two sinks in the room: One is the bathroom, and one just outside the bathroom. The soap to wash your hands, after finishing your business, is in the main room. It's doable, but slightly awkward if you are used to washing your hands before you leave the bathroom. Different: To get ice (ice baby), you need to go to the front desk and they give you a bag. I have to say I liked that, except for the walk to the front desk. (But that is rather lazy of me to complain about that, there are many hotels where I have to go to a different floor, or the ice machine is a long hike.) The mattress was great for my size/weight. (The room had two queens.) Lots of activities and food in the near area. Niagara Casino is, what I would consider, a short walk. It's busy during peak season, and LOTS of people. The front desk staff were helpful and very nice to speak with!
- 2/5
The hotel was very disappointing. The room carpets were dirty and smelled bad, making it difficult to walk in. The carpets were stained and looked neglected, and the overall atmosphere was unsafe and frightening. I felt uneasy rather than relaxed throughout my stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean and safe place to stay.
- 3/5
Amazing location to the falls and Clifton Hill. Very outdated and our room smelled very musty. Not bad for a one night stay.
- 3/5
It Was A Good Stay
- 4/5
Ok
- 4/5
Location wise was great, facilities needs some updates kindy old, but everything was fantastic to stay.
- 2/5
Hotel needs the renovation. Bathroom is in very poor condition. Mattress is not comfortable.
- 4/5
Lit confortable. Endroit très propre, devrait être mis au goût du jour. On entend tout dans le corridor. Ne vous attendez pas à un endroit de luxe, mais très convenable pour le prix et le positionnement. Nous avons adoré!
- 2/5
It felt unsafe to us as we drove in but nothing bad happened to us so that’s good
- 3/5
Location was good. Fresh paint. Rooms smelled smoky until ac was put on. Some lights didn’t work and others flickered. Plumbing was rusty and ceramic cracked.
- 3/5
The walls aren't insulated well enough to keep out the noise. The TV and bed in the room I stayed in were old. Other than that, it was overall a positive experience.
- 5/5
It was great staying at the econo lodge!! Our whole family loved it there and it is too close to the Clifton hill!!
- 4/5
We didnt like their pillows. The room smelled a bit musty too. The shower could use a regrout too. Some lights didnt work either. For the price it was fine. Good location that was close to shops etc. The fact that parking is included is also a big plus
- 5/5
One block from Clifton Hill. Easily walk everywhere. Room was clean and quiet.
- 4/5
Good
- 4/5
Rooms were not to bad , the comforter had holes in it though. There was hair on the wall in the bathroom and the shower grout was black also the tub dripped water the hole stay. If friends were staying at other hotel they were not allowed to visit
- 3/5
Expensive and run down. But relatively convenient location.
- 5/5
Great location, good atmosphere in the surrounding area.
- 4/5
Accommodated a group of 12 with four vehicles on a busy weekend stay.
- 4/5
It is very easy to access restaurants and sightseeing area by just 5-10 min walking. Staffs are also kind and provide clear instruction upon arrival.
- 4/5
This property was literally a 1 minute walk to Clifton Hill. Although they are older rooms you get what you pay for. No microwave or fridge but there was a coffee maker in our room, and the room was clean. Would stay here again because of the location, oh and the parking was free as stated in their advertisement on expedia.
- 2/5
Pool is dirty; room is old and smells bad. It’s not worthy of $200.
- 3/5
It was ok stay
- 3/5
Motel was a bit outdated (but you would expect this because of the good price) but very clean. I saw staff cleaning all the time. The staff was very very friendly and helpful. I loved the location. Was not even a 5 minute walk to Clifton Hill and attractions.
- 2/5
Beds were too hard. Could hear the people above us. People peeing outside in the corner of the hotel building Homeless people near the hotel Holes in bed sheets No bar fridge Tv challenges kept pixelating hard to watch tv like that. Very weak wifi More then likely we won’t be staying here again.
- 2/5
The place is overpriced for the service they provide. They don't have an elevator and assigned a room on the second level to family with a stoller. Also, the bathroom did not have cold water. So you are stuck with scolding hot water for use in the bathroom in the middle of summer! Drug addicts were convened in the parking lot right outside our window. Go there if you like it!
- 5/5
Convenient, Good staff.
- 3/5
Nothing unique. The lobby was grossly smelling of body door.
- 3/5
New flooring in room but most of the hotel is “dated”. Very clean considering updates need to be made. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
- 3/5
Parking convenient, great location next to Clifton Hills. Beds weren't good, felt springs and lumpy pillows. Very dated. Disappointed that pool only opened at noon after check-out. Pool hours are noon to 11pm. Overall won't stay here again.
- 3/5
Adequate place to stay but not high class in any way.
- 5/5
Great location an d walkable to falls and Clifton hill
- 3/5
Not enough outlets to plug into for CPAPs or cell phones. We had to buy a power bar, the motel had none available. The Wifi did not work at all. That was very annoying as our cellular signal wasn't working properly and would have needed the Wifi. Very noisy, We could hear the people in the hallways. Our view outside on the balcony was a driveway with many garbage bags just sitting there. We did not use the balcony. The one thing that this place had going for it is that it's right across the street from Clifton Hill and many attractions.
- 4/5
Convenient location for the price and free parking included!
- 5/5
Comfortable and great location
- 4/5
Near everything, oldish but clean
- 5/5
A great budget friendly place to stay when visiting Niagara Falls. Walk to Clifton Hill, the Falls, restaurants and other attractions. Free parking and spacious rooms. Service is outstanding. Front Desk is always helpful whether you need extra pillows or anything else. John has always been awesome and so accommodating and makes us feel welcome whenever we stay here. This has always been our first choice when staying overnight in Niagara. Prices are great compared to other options in the area and location is the best. Great for families or couples.
- 4/5
Very reasonable rates and super convenient to all Clifton Hill has to offer!
- 5/5
And comfort was good
- 4/5
Older, but clean and crazy convenient!
- 4/5
It was good, it was just a place for us to sleep nothing special but also nothing bad about the place.
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly and helpful!! Our room was cleaned every day and made nice. we would stay there again. thanks
- 1/5
Looks like the bed sheets are not changed and not checked properly. We found hair strands in the bed sheets. One pillow case is so dirty with stains.
- 3/5
The staff were friendly
- 4/5
If your purpose is to rest then it's ok. The place looks like it was good 30 years ago. Walk to the falls is far but restaurants and theme park is near by.
- 4/5
I had to list the name of people in our room, apparently visitors isnt allowed. Never had that option before, visitors are allowed they aremt allowed to stay overnight or beyond the number of people you listed
- 3/5
Room was old, outdated and needed minor repairs and upgrades. Great location and walk ability.
- 3/5
Convinient parking
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at the Econ lodge it was very clean and service was great polite and helpful staff… the location couldn’t be beat right across from the Niagara speedway and sky wheel both very amazing attractions! I would definitely recommend this hotel..
- 2/5
1 min to clifton hill
- 3/5
We have stayed here many times in the past but this time we were out in the very last room 247. The curtains were falling off the window with so many holes in them. We can’t believe someone, like the cleaners haven’t suggested to management this room needs to fixed up before we can let anyone stay in it. The balcony hasn’t been cleaned in years I’m sure or the window on the doors. The tub enclosure is dark red with a few dull light in the bathroom so when you close the shower curtain you can’t see at all.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
The staff was very pleasant and great to help and deal with the room was clean and the cleaning staff did a great job very pleased with our stay at this hotel
- 1/5
They did not have Expedia reservation on file had to jump thru hoops then given filthy room. When we complained they gave us a better one. Terrible way to do business
- 4/5
Elderly staff a bit rude when we showed up about 30 minutes early. Adding a microwave and small fridge would make it more convenient. Yes aware that the front desk will allow you to use the microwave to heat up things for children
- 2/5
Staff with low customer skills, room maintenance very basic.
- 4/5
Very nice and close to Niagara Falls.
- 4/5
Not expensive
- 3/5
Room/ bed sheets didn’t smell fresh.
- 5/5
We were not planning on being in our room except for sleeping, so this hotel suited our needs for being inexpensive and very close to bus stops and walking distance to clifton hill.
- 2/5
Disappointed mostly by pool hours. Didnt open 12 noon. Check out at 11. No time to swim
- 3/5
The entrance to the property off of Clifton hill area is terrible.
- 5/5
Would highly recommend.
- 3/5
Location is amazing. Staff was great. Room definitely needs to be updated and their needs to be a mini fridge and a microwave in the room. I found it so odd that their wasn't, only place I've even been like that. I just felt 235$ a night would be a little bit nicer.
- 4/5
For a room that was quiet but still close to the action and free parking, this worked. Checked in around 930p, great woman (sorry no name). Room had no fridge, she controlled the ice and gave us an extra bag. We used the second sink and it was ok for one night. Great to have food options within a block late in the evening. Just one night and dont need to stay in the room, go for it.
- 4/5
A fridge would be helpful but the freebie provided by the hotel works for a quick stay ! Friendly check in staff.
- 2/5
I dont recommend this place
- 2/5
Couldn’t get wifi. Room extremely dated and very musty dirty carpet. Only two outlets.
- 5/5
Quite, neat, practical, right in the heart of all the good is happening .
- 5/5
I liked that they supplied you with generous amounts of ice! The cleaning staff were the sweetest! The older lady at the check-in counter was so awesome and was so funny!!if you bring a big cooler you should be fine. Clifton hills is literally across the street and you can see the fireworks from our hotel room. Overall an amazing stay! I will be back for sure! And bring a usb or a tv plug in so you can stream your device to your tv. We didn't have to worry cause they had Bounce tv and it was playing all our favorite movies ☺️
- 5/5
Nice hotel! The hotel location was perfect, everything is withing walking distance to all the main attractions. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
- 4/5
Clean room, affordable price during our stay. Friendly Staff. Quick Check-IN & OUT. Easy access to the restaurants, Clifton Hill rides & other attractions. FREE Parking. Just the A/C in our room are too noisy. Highly recommended for a budget friendly traveller's. 😊
- 4/5
Good price compared to other similar hotels in the area. Hotel was clean, staff was great, and in an awesome location. Only complaint is the beds and pillows are horrible. Very uncomfortable. We were able to sleep decently enough but definitely need an upgrade there. Other than that it's clean and really what more can you ask for when you're spending a majority of your time exploring Niagara Falls.
- 4/5
Great simple stay, Very friendly. Only downside: no fridge in the room.
