    Woman at check in was crabby. Didn't look up. Acted bored and inconvenienced. Halls and room smelled really bad. None smoking building but it smelled like stale smoke and worse.

    The hotel itself had ongoing issues, including room keys that repeatedly failed to work and a lack of housekeeping service throughout our stay. The property also appeared to have a number of long-term occupants, making it feel very different from a typical hotel experience. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this property. We were also disappointed to see it listed and recommended, as the overall condition, safety concerns, and guest experience fell well below our expectations.

    Nothing, too expensive, charged me $300 for my dog which never touched a thing or ruined a thing. Gave me no deposit back. The African American SECRETARY threatened my spouse and asked her husband or boyfriend to come up there to fight my spouse because she was EXTREMELY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL, because of my experience and her trying to blame it on my dog.     The room had a leak in the bathroom that essentially flooded the floor and no one came to fix it. The phone in the room didn’t work nor did half the plugs. There was ants everywhere. They said they ran out of towels and if they could find some they’d bring them to the room, they never brought any. Miserable stay ☺️

    Not a fancy hotel, but was perfect for low cost, safety (especially important to an older woman traveling solo), comfortable bed, basic kitchen, and close to airport and Interstate. The staff was absolutely wonderful - attention to my every need. Every time I left the hotel, they would welcome me and and address me by name.

    I would not recommend staying at this property. The room was in poor condition, with visible stains on the counters, rugs, and bedding, which made the overall environment feel unclean and uncomfortable. Due to these issues, my husband and I decided to leave and stay at another hotel. On a positive note, the front desk staff was courteous and helpful throughout our brief interaction.

    The ice maker didn't work, so they sent up a maintenance guy with a new one the next day. He installed it but it still did not make ice. In addition there was water coming into the room from under the refrigerator. Once the water line to the refrigerator was turned off the leaking stopped. We went to a gas station and bought a bag of ice for $4.50 and that issue was "solved". Other issues were a bent up shower rod that kept the shower curtain open and the electric GFI outlet in the bathroom was burned up and non functional. The metal fixtures in the bathroom are all rusty and corroded.The staff we talked with were all friendly though, nothing negative to say about them.

    The customer service was good but the room smelled horrible, bathroom wasn’t clean toilet had feces in it and the tub had a dirt ring around it. I was so disturbed about the sheets on the bed with all these weird spots in them I went and bought my own because I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in the ones provided. The side door was propped open with a stick for reentry I’m assuming. Completely unsafe. This was my first time visiting Charleston and my experience is not one I would ever brag about. I used points to book this stay. Very much a waste of those.

    I wasn’t pleased with this property at all. It was my first time staying there & I had reasonable expectations. The shower floor was dirty, the bathroom sink wasn’t draining properly, the stovetop burners had a crack, the silverware in the room was dirty (I went to ask for plastic silverware, they didn’t have any). I will not be staying here again as I was highly disappointed.

    Oh wow ! My family and I recently stayed at the Candlewood and it was fantastic ! The entire staff was really nice and accommodating, their suites are clean , spacious and family friendly. It’s like a home away from home . It’s conveniently located near Walmart, Dillards , Dollar Tree and others , yet the property is safe and quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

    Staff was great when it came down to changing our room. First room had a horrible carpet smell and the room wasn’t cleaned. Whoever was in there before had a dog due to the dog poop and the sign that stated a pet roommate was here. The second room had a strong smoke smell that they stated they could not get out and it had big dead bugs laying around. we left immediately we were suppose to stay for two day but ended up being one.

    Our room had a weird smell, it was dated and it wasn’t very clean. I had to purchase room spray from Burlingtons next door. There were roaches, hallways didn’t feel really safe, dark & dirty, outside smells of weed on multiple days. Day 3 there was a fire in one of the rooms. Overall we felt dirty and unsafe, my family unfortunately had to stay bc we didn’t have additional funds to purchase another location while waiting for $1000 refund. We were shocked to find out that we had to pay $50 a night ($350) for our 2lb ESA . I do think that they ended up refunding a portion of the date of the fire craze , we had to quickly evacuate, my poor children were so shaken up. Also, there weren’t extra linens available, our 4yr old had an accident and we needed to change out bedding. There are apparently only enough in the hotel for each room to have the one set per bed… We ended up purchasing our own at Burlington and washing the hotel’s set on our own. The bathroom shower curtain was dirty, kitchen floor had visible crumbs, dusty shelves in bathroom, no new toiletries at check in. A random crying kid came into our room that was left by a parent , we had to escort the 2-5yr old to the front desk . My family is waiting for our home to be finished and have stayed in multiple hotels in the last 30days, unfortunately We would not recommend or stay here again.

    Once I got to the room, there was no tv remote. The phone didn’t work, so I had to go downstairs to tell them. When I came back upstairs, I washed my face, but there were no towels. I had to go back downstairs again. I was given towels and once washed and in bed the refrigerator kept making periodic rumbling noise like it was making ice. I had already turned the icemaking switch off earlier, but I kept getting awakened by the unpredictable and unsettling noise. Thank God I had earplugs.

    This hotel was very disappointing to my husband and I. We checked in, got to our room and no body wash and the microwave was damaged inside, so i was afriad to use it. I tried calling the front desk and the phone didnt work. My husband had to go to the front desk so that we could get some body wash. Then the bill we received was different from the charges on the credit card, so in the morning we had to ask why the difference in amounts. The lady Tiffany was very helpful in explaining the difference in charges. I even showed her pictures of the microwave.We then told her about the issues with our room and she said she was going to give us a discount. However, we have not received a discount and I will be contacting a manager. When leaving the hotel a different lady was at the desk and another customer was complaining about issues she was having with the service. The lady was eating yogurt and never put her food down to fully acknowledged the customer. I felt that was very rude and she could have atleast put her food to the side for a minute and address the situation. I will not be staying at this hotel again. I don't recommend this hotel. A suggestion is better management, and training so that customers will have a good stay whether its one night or one week.

    The room was very clean and comfortable. The down side was the other guests cooking with their doors open so the smell was in the hallways. We were there for 2 nights. The first night was fine but the second night around 1am there were young children running through the hallways making a lot of noise and slamming doors. We tried to call the front desk but no one answered.

    The staff was friendly!! But the property was run down. When we got to the second floor it was a very strong odor of marijuana. When we got to the room it had a very funky smell. The bathroom desperately needs remodeling. We were looking to cook something but the kitchenware was dirty and nasty. Also we found two roaches in the bathroom. Never staying here again

    Everything was good. The only thing i was a little concerned about was housekeeping. They never came and cleaned the room the whole time i was here.     I like that it is close to the shopping mall but thats about it everything else was poor i spend 8 nights and not 1 day did we get house keeping service. They gave us a room with a broken toilet that was running water 24/7 we reported it from the night we checked in they send maintenance in the mrn he said it cant be fixed now and they agreed to change our room and then they gave us a key to a out of order room my god i am still tramatize by room 316 we had to stay in the room with the broken toilet for 8 nights and to make it worst dog hair was on the carpet,blood stain on one of the sheet and they leave a tissue in the bathroom that was almost finish

    They check us into a room with a broken toilet we reported it and they promise to change our room and wen they did give us a key it was a out of order room. The carpet in our room had on dog hair we spend 8 nights and no cleaner not even once

    Just a suggestion… You may look into taking a block of rooms and making them for no pets. The room I stayed in had a urine smell. It was like someone was trying to cover up a smell they could not remove.

    This hotel was everything I needed it to be. Close to everything and wasn’t too far from downtown Charleston. The room was very clean and the kitchen was so fully equipped that we ended up cooking the whole time while on our mini vacation. Bed was very comfortable and restroom was perfect unlike most hotels. One or the other is horrible but not in this one. The staff were all very friendly people. Ms. Linda was so nice to help me get more ice for my room since the ice machine in my freezer was going to take awhile. She also gave me a list of things to see and do downtown and I was so happy about that. What’s better than google? Someone who’s actually from there!! There was a tall guy with locs cleaning the rooms each morning and he was very friendly too. Good staff made it a good stay. Last but not least the convenience of this hotel was phenomenal. Next door to the mall, Walmart, and many restaurants. All in all this was one of the best stays I’ve had in a very long time.

    My wifi didn’t work the entire time. I sent them a message Saturday and no one ever responded back. The room was clean and location convenient that’s about the only plus.

    So we actually had the pleasure of staying here twice in one month. During the first stay I left my blanket; they found it and I was going to arrange to have it sent back but they held on to it until we arrived the second time. There was an issue with the room but they took care of it ASAP! To Lionel and staff thank you for being so kind, attentive and patient. You all make every stay a great experience.

    The property is beautifully renovated and the staff is so friendly! The room was very clean and comfortable; just a stone's throw from the mall which was a bonus. Mikalyla and Tiffany at the desk are the sweetest girls ever! I will definitely be staying here again!

    This was a great property for my 3 nights in Charleston. All the convenience of an apartment and comfort of a hotel. While I loved the place there was a big error in my reservation that I'm unhappy about. Reserved and paid for a double but was only given a single. I brought this to the attention of the front desk who confirmed my double reservation but failed to fix it. I was very busy and expected this resolved much to my disappointment.

    He was doing the work of 3 people. Hotel is comfy. Housekeeping was accommodating. A little loud with doors closing and people in the hallway but it was Saturday night, and we are old and go to bed early 😂

    Wish there had been a pool. There was no place to sit and recline outdoors. There were plenty of places that could have had a bench to relax on on pretty days. But no seating of any kind. Only a smoking area / grill with a few tables and chairs.

    Suite layout was spacious & well designed. Furnishings were in excellent condition. The few drawbacks were very few dishes, glasses & utensils. Thumping noises from upstairs unit often went on & on, so finally had to call front desk, 2 different days. Would have appreciated a mid-stay cleaning. But all in all, a really good option.
