For the price that we paid we felt very uncomfortable with this stay. The room smelled like mildew smoke and furniture had cigarette burns and holes. There were obvious mildew stains in the bathroom that were painted over. Overall cleanliness for what they provided was well. Had to stay there at a last minute because no other options were available, but would not stay again. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Surrounding area was not very safe either.

A lot of really sketchy people living and hanging out at the hotel. People up and making noise at all hours. Room was good enough, but beds and matresses were awful and uncomfortable.

Dislike: Room was damaged from dogs and age. Sink backed up from other rooms. Facial hair in the sink that I do not have were in mine in the morning 2 days . Floor in the bath was not cleaned, room service is every other day. Smell of marijuana being smoked everywhere. Some tenets seem to live there for extended periods of time

I normally wouldn’t stay at Red Roof, but we ended up having to stay longer for work. All others were booked. For what it was, the staff was very friendly and the room was really clean. Area not the greatest and grounds could use some freshing up.

Do not stay here. Our room was horrible. The room smelled, there were holes in the cover and sheets, shower head was rusty. The cover was thin and the mattress was lumpy. We would have found another place to stay but everything was booked. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

This was a very basic hotel room. No fridge, coffee maker or microwave. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Access from the highway was easy.

I almost never leave bad reviews, this is the worst place I have EVER stayed and I’ve been in some sketchy places before. Do better.. at night there are random men roaming around the hotel, one even asked(with no engagement from me) if he could come inside my room, then he proceeds to watch me and almost follow me around when I was trying to potty my dog. The dresser was so broken the drawers wouldn’t open and one was broken completely hanging inside the dresser literally, the room next to me had a joining door(obviously locked on my side, they were partying until 4am. This is not a safe place to stay at all. Very disappointed.

Sink did not work, soap was so small it could only be used once, no microwave/fridge, just really run down with no apparent attempt to fix

The staff were all amazing from the front desk to the cleaning lady, but at night there was a lot of noise outside and people walking around outside @ 3 am making loud noises which woke me up out of my sleep and i couldn't go back to sleep because I was on alert.

The property is VERY near a mall, which I enjoyed -- there were places to eat and some good sales. There was fast food next door to the motel. The room itself featured a very loud air conditioner (too loud -- it would wake you up when it came on), and the plugs by the bed didn't work. In fact, the plugs across the room weren't deep enough, oddly, so the plugs didn't quite push in completely to charge devices. They worked, but they looked a little "off." Weird! There were no hangars. However, the staff was very kind.

Very disappointing stay. The whole place is run down. The beds and pillows were horrible - lumpy and old. No breakfast included. Requested a non smoking room but it smelled of cigarettes and weed. Saw 2 cockroaches in the room. TV didn’t work. The only upside was that the 2 ladies working were polite.

It was a litte more run down than the pictures appeared. The room was clean, just old. The bed and the bathroom was clean. The chair back in the room was broke, no support. A lot of random people hanging around.

Everything was in poor repair and filthy. The sheets and the towel were the only clean aspects of this room.

Room reeked of cigarettes, my clothes smelled of cigarettes on the ride home after subjecting them to the rank air of the motel room. There were cigarette burns on every surface, burns on the floor, burns on the bathtub, burns on the counters... there were lewd messages and images drawn in sharpie behind the bathroom door, which although gives the place its only semblance of "charm", was not really what I was expecting. Every hint of smoke my nose has encountered since my stay sends me right back to that hotel room. It wasn't all negative, though. All of the employees I spoke to were exceptionally sweet and thoughtful. It's not really their fault that the previous patrons of my room were less than savory.

The manager, Donna was awesome when she confirmed his safety the next morning. She was excellent.

There were people who were obviously living in the rooms like an apartment. There were homeless in the parking lot next to the hotel yelling at us. Overall, the hotel needs a complete remodel. All of the rooms are supposed to be no smoking but we tried 3 different rooms and they had all been smoked in. Smoke burns on the comforters. Do not stay here.

It was a place to sleep. The place is in need of a serious do over due to the outdated furniture and rusted bathroom along with leaking and rusted fixtures. The lady at the front desk was nice and very helpful.

My stay at the hotel was comfortable. I didn't have any issues except when you stay for a week they ask that you check out of the hotel.

Nice area close to the movies, mall and places to eat. However rooms are very small. Rooms should be inspected to insure they are clean before allowing anyone access. The room had tobacco on the floor. dirt and debris in the bathroom. For the price it’s to be expected. This place had a lot going on and if you aren’t use to traffic, smells and extra curricular activities you should find somewhere else to stay. Other than that it is a decent pocket saver.

I did not stay at Red Roof. The didnt have my Expedia reservation. I spent an hour at midnight in North Charleston trying to find a vacancy. Which i finally did at Econo lodge.

Horrible, dirty , filthy , not family friendly . It’s discussing . Poop on staircase. Smells like Chlor to the point that whole family woke up sick . I’m discussed . Never ever staying in that crapplace. I wish I could get my money back . Cup noodles in sink and not even cleaned . Sticky floors, cabinets, dirty bathroom, dirty towels. Seriously it was a horrible experience .

Over all stay wasn't bad. But notice more activities on front side than back side. I can say this because I've stayed before on back side rooms 136 and 144

I recommend Red roof Inn North Charleston located at Northwoods Blvd. They're pet friendly and no extra charge for you fur babies.

The room was musty and smelled of old stale cigarette smoke. Appliances and electrical outlets were rusty with some completely unusable. The bed was like sleeping on concrete. There were at least 3 police calls (that we know of) during our 4 night stay. This facility was a 1 and done. We will not be staying there evere again.

Room smell old,

Lobby was difficult to find. No signage up. My first impressions upon arriving seemed a “little sketchy”. my room is clean, TV didn’t work, holes in walls ceilings were cracked, absolutely no amenities in the room, besides soap and tissue. you pay for what you get.

Arrived in room to find it smelling of smoke and burn marks in the floor and counter top and bed coverings - called the front desk and asked if another room was available. Had to talk with front desk and facility maintenance to look at three other rooms to find one room less smoky

It was a horrible experience. I booked for two night but left after the first. If it hadn't been so late when I arrived, I would have left the first night. Sketchy people walking unleashed dogs. The desk attendant wasn't in the office and I had to wait ten minutes for him to arrive and check me in. The room was free of bugs but cosmetically it was unappealing. The sheets were rough and only one thin blanket.

Room was on terrible condition. Broken drywall, several burnt surfaces, bathroom door was splitting open are just a few of the rough conditions. Also had found a live roach in the room.

The room I was given had been smoked in, even though I paid for a smoke free room. Additionally, the TV in that room was completely smashed. I requested a new room. The second room was better, but it was also heavily smoked in. Staff was nice. Property is in rough condition.

If you need a cheap place to stay with low expectations, this is your motel.

The worst place I’ve ever stayed at. Reminded me of San Francisco California. When we arrived to the property there was a group fight in the parking lot. After that was broken up and we got our key, when walking to our room 10-20 people were walking around the lot / outside drinking liquor, smoking weed/drugs, mostly shirtless, and yelling. I noticed there were many people also just sitting in their cars most likely on drugs/drunk. There was a drunk guy sitting outside our room who stayed there all night. Another fight broke out around 3am outside our room. safe to say we checked out early and will not be going back.

There was blood on my sheets. Good thing I asked for sheets after checking in because I read the reviews and I was hopeful I wasn't going to have a bad experience. Unfortunately when I told the staff at the office they asked, well you got clean sheets didn't you? It didn't even phase them how much of a biohazard that was. I didn't even have a mini fridge or a microwave and there was nothing offered to me for my bad experience. I will never stay there again. The property was loud and the intense smell of the cleaners they used burned the inside of my nostrils. Very unsatisfied.

Property was old floor scratche up, it took more than 3 hours for the tub to drain. The whole place just seemed shabby.

The parking lots had several homeless people with grocery carts full of their belongings. The counter clerk was rude and said I could not check-in for another 40 mins unless I paid more, I refused and left.

I was called by someone on the property in the room I checked in who sounded like a guy in the lobby, things were misplaced in my room, I did not stay because I was uncomfortable.

The rooms was stink smelled like dog. Every time I asked for a manager she is never there. I paid almost 200 dollars and had to go to Walmart and buy my own washcloth and towels for my family. The front desk people I dealt with Erica and Talona was great help. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our non smoking room reeked of cigarrettes and pot, light over vanity only turned on at times, tub was badly patched which made it look dirty, BA walls had bugs painted over, land line did not work at all, there was no cofeemaker in room and no area for breakfast, so no breakfast. Finally, my reservation thru Expedia never registered so I ended up having money held unexpectedly. Those monies were released and I got back the extra deposit. But none of this should've happened. The good: the new lamps and light fixture, bedding was nice and clean, bed was comfortable, having a fridge and working tv.
