Reviews
The hotel staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. The rooms are generally described as clean, comfortable, and recently renovated. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of breakfast and amenities such as coffee makers in the rooms. The location is convenient for some, but others find it noisy due to its proximity to the airport and highways.

The actual building is very old and could use some upgrades. The continental breakfast pictured on their site, is only for show per the gentleman that checked us in. They do not even offer coffee. There is a Waffle House within walking distance. The actual room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The bath towels are paper thin. The neighborhood is sketchy. It was okay for a quick stay.

There was not blow dryer, which it would have been nice to know. It was one of the cleanest motels I've been to. The lady at the desk (and I also saw her cleaning) was friendly and helpful. She really made us feel welcome.
- 4/5
The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly and efficient. Parking was safe and close to room. Temperature was fine. No breakfast, ice machine only on 2nd floor. No frills.
- 5/5
Convenient location! staff was friendly and informative! Amazing for the price really, the owners are very friendly and VERY respectful. Id no doubt stay here again
- 5/5
Rooms were spotless ! Was really impressed!
- 5/5
We arrived early and was able to check in early. The front desk lady was very friendly and accommodating. Gave us some directions to downtown as we were in town for a concert and had never visited Charleston before. Property was great, clean, and comfortable. Felt safe as females traveling alone. Great location. Convenient Easy access to interstate. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was roomy. Definitely would stay here again if in the area.
- 5/5
Parking was easy and air conditioning worked very well
- 3.5/5
The room was very clean and quiet. The bed was a little firm. There was no coffee maker in the room and the coffee in the office was bad.

Only negative I can say is AC could be colder. And a coffee maker would be awesome since there was no coffee offered in the lobby. Would definitely stay here again.

No breakfast. Cheap feeling overall.
- 4/5
Cheap and clean, with fridge and microwave. Waffle House next door for breakfast. Quiet. TV volume was locked and low.

Staff was very nice, beds were super comfy and room was clean. No complaints. Place is dated and could use a facelift. No coffee or breakfast was available.

Attentiveness and friendliness of staff. Economical accommodation in a very expensive city. Convenient to Amtrak station. Relatively quiet considering proximity of airport. Room was clean. No breakfast; coffee machine in office out of order. No tissues, iron or ironing board in room. Far from historic district. Carless, we found taxis expensive and location inconvenient.

Staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean and fairly recently remodeled.

Very good
- 5/5
I cannot say I disliked anything about this hotel, it is an older dated building but extremely well kept. Clean and inexpensive if you just need a place to stay, this works.
- 5/5
Yes the air conditioning was effective and it was clean
- 3/5
The building was pretty dated, but inside the room was clean. It had good heating and cooling and had an excellent hot shower.
- 5/5
Very clean. Soft beds. Excellent location.
- 5/5
The room was better then we imagined for the price we paid!
- 4/5
Our room is very nicely remodeled, nice tv and comfortable beds. Booked this for easy and quick travel to Charleston airport.
- 5/5
Great all around!
- 3/5
Kinda hard to find the road, behind gas station. Easy parking. Great food all around. It is as stated: economy standards. Was disappointed no hair dryer and I didn't bring one. Listed breakfast, but was none. Room was clean. If looking for very minimal, it works.
- 4/5
Room was clean but run down. Fine for one night. Staff were professional & friendly.
- 5/5
Clean great staff
- 5/5
Much nicer rooms than one would expect at this price point. Clean. Uber to downtown very easily.
- 5/5
This room was wonderful. Completely remodeled and remodeled the right way, no shortcuts. Everything in this room was new and it was incredibly clean. It even had a fridge with a separate freezer. This is where I will be staying anytime I visit Charleston from now on! Front desk was also extremely nice and helpful. Also in a great area, Walmart and Tanger outlets are literally .4 miles away!
- 5/5
It is an older motel but our room was clean and well furnished. We didn't hear any noise, everything worked and the staff were friendly. Would definitely stay again.
- 4/5
The room was very clean. It was very close to I-26.
- 4/5
Put off by dated decor & person sleeping under overhang.
- 5/5
Our go to when staying in North Charleston
- 4/5
This is a great hotel for the price. The rooms themselves are pretty nice and recently updated. The rest of the facilities are not very nice, though. The mini-fridge was especially good, with a separate freezer, and having a microwave made it useful for a multi-day stay. Still, it would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room. There are lots of things nearby and it's close to the airport and highways, but that also meant it was pretty noisy.
- 3/5
Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly which made up for the bad neighborhood. Waffle House right next door.
- 4/5
It was clean, parking was easy peasy, and quite.
- 3/5
It was clean and ok. No closet or any place to hang clothes. A hair dryer would be nice.
- 4/5
It was obviously remodeled recently. And a good job too. The room was bright and clean. The front staff girl was very helpful and friendly. Will stay here again.
- 4.5/5
Friendly and helpful staff - suggested places to visit. Coffee available in the office. Rooms spacious and really comfortable beds. Lots of places to eat nearby. A little far out of town but not too far from the airport.
- 3/5
Very little soap, shampoo and toilet paper are provided. There is no breakfast.
- 5/5
A very good price for the room and the hotel is in a great location. The rooms were very clean, recently remodeled, and the housekeeping was very attentive to our needs and we had the towels changed every day. We could also have the room cleaned up everyday, but we declined because we thought that every-other-day it was just fine. The office staff was very polite and knowledgeable, providing useful local information, when we asked. We were happy with everything. No reason of discomfort. Probably a lot of people were not happy with the fact that there is an military airport close by, but I found that actually very appealing because I could see different types of military airplanes flying at low altitude, but don't you worry there are all during the day.

Close to venue to walk to concert. Price was cheapest for location. No breakfast but Waffle House and McDonalds both next door. Would stay again for price.
- 3/5
It was great for the price but a little uncomfortable with just small children and me in the area. Mainly since rooms open to the outdoors.
- 3/5
Did not look like the room advertised on Expedia. Not terrible but definitely not modern
- 5/5
Owner was so sweet in giving us insight on tourist attractions and local spots to check out. It was also VERY nice. So clean and big. The bathroom was a dream!
- 3.5/5
Good
- 5/5
Enjoyed, but wish they had some coffee/breakfast options available.
- 3/5
Ok place to stay for our early flight. Front desk person was very nice.
- 5/5
This weekend getaway was very comfortable and a great location. We were 6 min away from the Tanger outlets, and 5-10 min away from lots of food options. We would def stay here again. Staff were very friendly, check in was smooth!
- 5/5
Management at this location are super friendly, and professional at the same time. Our go to place when we are in Charleston.
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room was spotless and up to date. We would stay here again!
- 5/5
Very nice and cozy hotel. Location is convenient and close to the airport. Surrounding is quiet and safe. Room was clean and tidy. Very friendly staff. Just note there are two hotels on the property. This one is off the main road behind the front one.
- 4/5
There was not a iron or ironing board in the room, which is unusual for this type of accommodation in my experience, but these can be provided on request at the front desk. The location is great if travelling into Charleston. Very conveniently located off the highway. No breakfast is provided but you are within walking distance of Waffle House and a short drive from McDonald's and other places to grab a bite. There is also a place to refuel which is helpful. Overall, a good place to stay if visiting the city.
- 4/5
Was only there for maybe 6 or 7 hours. Just a short nap and a shower before heading to the airport for an early morning flight.
- 5/5
Second tine staying here. Always excellent. Clean. Affordable.Quiet. Close to Park Circle.
- 5/5
Stayed in ground floor, heard anyone walking by. There are rail road tracks nearby, only heard and felt 3 trains go by, all before 10PM. Decent place for the price.

Was pleased that it was so clean.
- 5/5
Room was clean; bed was nice and soft. Nice large freezer compartment compared to most mini fridges.
- 5/5
If you are someone who wants a fancy hotel room this will not be for you. However, if you want a place to lay your head that is super affordable, very clean and comfortable book here now! The owners are so kind and accommodating. As a matter of fact I experienced a major anxiety attack and the woman (I'm sorry I don't remember her name!) was so very kind to me and no judgement. She offered me comfort even though due to not being able to find help her and her husband and her were cleaning rooms at the time. She took the time to talk to me. I'll never forget that. The bed was very comfortable and a frig and microwave in the room as well. I feel very fortunate we found such an affordable option for our conference we went to.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff. Rooms were nice inside but outside looks dated. Very comfy beds. Ada shower was well appointed. Lots of food and shopping options conveniently located. Happy with our stay. Would recommend
- 4/5
The staff was welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and spacious.
- 5/5
Lady at front desk very helpful & nice. Clean room. Would come back.
- 3/5
Not a great area
- 4/5
Very clean
- 5/5
Needed a room for the last couple of nights before flying out. Hotel is near the airport, restaraunts close by. VERY friendly and helpful staff.
- 1/5
The hotel was run down. Had a musky smell. Have horrible water pressure. Did not have secure doors. Overal dirty. See photos attached
- 5/5
Check in was easy. Desk person was polite.Room was ready, clean, and bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Had a late flight so the lobby was locked. I had to wait a few minutes for someone to answer and when you do it’s through a bank teller type scenario. The woman was very nice, the room was dated but the bed and towels were very soft and comfortable. The room was clean. The area is a little sketchy looking.
- 3/5
Perfectly fine for a quick overnight after a flight.
- 3/5
Chambre très petite. Il y a du tapis (il n'y en avait pas sur la photo). Pas de douche comme sur la photo, c'était un bain douche avec rideau. Pas de 2e étage. Pas de chambre en avant. Même si on était là 2 nuits.
- 4/5
It is a 1970's restoration. Well kept and quiet.
- 4/5
CONS: No amenities! Not the best location regarding, safety. Was my first inclination. I had an Uber driver say to me that he has the right to decline customers in areas (Econo Lodge) where he feels unsafe. I was embarrassed but not surprised. He was a BIG guy and he picked me at 12noon. I didn't feel scared. Just a little uncomfortable. To be fair: I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS WHILE STAYING AT THE ECONO LODGE. And obviously the cost was very reasonable.
- 4/5
Overall it was a good room for the price. No issues at all.
- 3/5
Property was conveniently and reasonably price for one night airport stay.
- 5/5
My only comments are the shower water pressure wasnt the best (but totally serviceable) and the door/door frame had settled and left a small gap on the top and bottom. Overall was a great experience for a budget weekend trip in/out of Charleston.
- 5/5
I liked the friendly staff especially Matt. The ceiling, especially in the bathroom, needs to be updated so it matches the updates elsewhere in the room.
- 3/5
Overall, the room appeared clean. Decent size television. There was a musty like smell to the room like it had been closed off for a long time. The door locked but did not shut tightly. The shower curtain had some mildew on it and probably should be washed monthly or bimonthly. I was warmly greeted. Check-in was okay. Are required to use a CC for $250 incidentals.
- 5/5
Everything was very nice, room was very clean and front desk was great
- 4/5
Room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Property was out of the way and quiet. Room was well kept & Clean.
- 3/5
It’s a little insane to see such high reviews for this accommodation. I stayed here solely based on reviews. I live in Vegas, where even the motels have a bit of a higher standard. I called the desk several times for information with no answer, the place is a little rundown and indefinite need of an upgrade. This is the first time that I’ve traveled to this area of Charleston and next time I would definitely look a little south. I was asked to leave my room key, which is weird that they recycle room key cards. Also check out is at 11 AM and I was woken up at 9 AM by housekeeping, which I appreciate but completely unnecessary considering the fact that I didn’t call for assistance. Overall, it was just a place to lay my head down, but I won’t be returning.
- 4/5
No complaints! Very comfortable to stay and ideal location. I’m a returning guest!
- 5/5
A great price for the level of cleanliness and convenience! The front desk was fabulous!
- 4/5
Would definitely stay here again
- 1/5
Sadly, we are located in a direct hit area in Western NC and were not able to make the trip/stay. Unfortunately, we tried to cancel weeks ago but you have a no refund policy. We understand your no refund policy but this (the hurricane) was an extenuating circumstance out of our control. Will not use Hotels.com the future.
- 2/5
My reservation was lost. I arrived around midnight; no booking found, and I had to pay a higher amount than I had booked for. The room was okay; the breakfast was a joke, and not readily available. A couple making a great effort, but that seemed to be the whole staff.
- 1/5
Horrible horrible place to stay. If you come to Charleston, stay at the Mills before you stay here
- 2/5
Poorly marked (hidden behind other hotel); bad area. Not enough towels, no coffee, not enough toilet paper, no tissues, very little hot water, trash can too small
- 5/5
The property manager worked with me and put a 5th person on our room. They were very understanding.
- 5/5
Everything went well
- 5/5
Staff was thoughtful and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Room was clean and well-maintained. The hotel is located in a great area! Absolutely zero complaints.
- 5/5
I stayed here three times over the summer of 2024, and each stay was great! Rooms were kept very clean, and the front desk staff were friendly and accommodating of our late arrivals (11:00-12:30 at night). Solid option for a budget-friendly place to stay with good hook-ups to major highways to access the rest of the city.
- 5/5
Rooms were comfortable and very clean.
- 4/5
No hot water just warm
- 4/5
The only issue I had was the water didn’t get all that hot. Otherwise everything was very clean, the employees were nice, the room was comfortable and quiet and overall a good experience. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Property is well maintained and the owners are extremely nice. Great room and convenient to Park Circle and an easy Uber to downtown. Had a dirty sheet but it was quickly replaced. Rooms updated and clean. Next to a Waffle House.
- 5/5
It was very clean
- 3/5
It was worth the price
- 4/5
Hvac unit was very noisy otherwise typical stay for this yype of hotel
- 4/5
Reasonably close to downtown, yet economically proceed. Very pleasant staff.
- 1/5
I've stayed in almost every hotel in North Charleston while on business and this one is definitely the worst. No place else comes close. Took about 20 minutes to get checked in even though I was the only one there. The room had no closet, no coffee pot, and stank like mildew. Really the worst place I've ever spent money on. Just horrible.
- 5/5
This motel is really great! Yes, it’s a motel, with features of a motel not hotel, but in my room everything was scrupulously clean, everything worked correctly, and the area was quiet apart from the occasional airplane taking off. The ONLY down side I saw was that apparently only the front desk staff speaks English. Twice staff (cleaning staff I guess) approached me outside the room, and I couldn’t understand what they were asking me. But overall an excellent stay!
- 3/5
My stay was very so so. Definitely a budget hotel stay. The check in was in the micro small breakfast area where the attendant was doing laundry. She had to keep calling someone to get me checked in which too almost 10 minutes. The bed was uncomfortable, wash sink was outside the bathroom where the toilet was near the floor and the covers were paper thin.. I won’t be staying there again.
- 3/5
AC cycling all night. Just the nature of the heat pumps. Room clean and serviced. Clerk pleasant but card processing took forever
- 3/5
This motel needs some updating and not just a coat of paint to cover.. deadbolt was broken, air conditioner was not working correctly. It overall was clean, well-lit at night. Manager was polite and tried to accommodate any issues promptly.
- 4/5
Very convenient close to shops and restaurants.
- 3/5
Overnight stay with comfortable bed. Poor internet connection that would only work on computer and water in sink took a long time to drain properly.
- 5/5
This was a very nice motel. The owner was kind and offered recommendations of different restaurants in the area. Rooms are very clean. We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Great Motel, staff was courteous, kind and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Room was cleaned on a daily basis. Would HIGHLY recommend this motel when traveling in the North Charlton areas Big plus near the Tanger Outlets and all the restaurants. Just minutes away
- 5/5
The owner was super nice and the place was clean and very affordable I will be booking again on my way back from my cruise.
- 5/5
I was flying in from California and needed a place to sleep that was near the hotel. This property was perfect for that. The gal in the front stayed up to 11pm, due to my late arrival. She was very nice and the room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 5/5
Clean, reasonably priced, right next to a gas station, McDonald's and Waffle house- we had a nice stay!
- 5/5
Quiet area!
- 4/5
The outside of the property was a bit outdated, but interior was more updated and reassuring. The staff member we spoke to had amazing insight and recommendations for the area. He really made our experience with this hotel.
- 4/5
close to were i had to go great for the price no complates
- 4/5
1. They did not offer breakfast as advertised. 2. The staff required that we leave our room after only 1 night of being there to allow them to “empty our trash” despite our having a “Do Not Disturb” sign on. We were even told to take the sign down so that they could enter. While they were very friendly, the situation left us uncomfortable. 3. We had Kleenex box covers in our room without actual Kleenex boxes in them. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. You can tell they take pride in their business and I hope they continue to transition to a better clientele.
- 4/5
This was a very clean budget hotel. Basic accommodations; sweet people. We were out and about in Charleston all day and evening so lack of amenities didn’t matter. Very convenient to the interstate and easy to get into town. Large mini fridge with freezer.
- 5/5
Such a very warm and friendly staff! Truly a pleasure to stay. Room was clean and the property was very quiet. Woupd absolutely stay again!
- 5/5
Rooms are great for the price. Checkin was not good because the Hotel didn’t have a record from Expedia that we’d paid already
- 4/5
This place surpassed our expectations with its cleanliness and excellent housekeeping. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the rooms themselves are incredibly modern and comfortable. Incredibly clean, no pests, and comfy bed. External noise was a bit of an issue because of sloppy door seals. There’s also a lot of extra light that enters the room through the curtains, which was annoying. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend 10/10.
- 4/5
Good bang for your buck, but there’s a reason it’s as cheap as it is.
- 5/5
Excellent, friendly owner. This is a family-run place. Come to stay with them. Highway 26 is steps away, easy to get both to Charleston and to the beaches. The rooms are refurbished and very nice for a price.
- 4/5
location
- 5/5
Very impressive and modern renovations. Friendly and informative staff.
- 5/5
Staff was great! Matt went out of his way to take care of us. Room was extremely well kept and owner cares about his investment
- 5/5
This property is remarkably clean. The staff was very helpful for a late night arrival. Close to the airport.
