Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Charleston Airport/Convention Center

Room was clean and nice. Breakfast was a little less than I would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Access to property was a little confusing

After having confirm reservation through Expedia when I reach hotel at 8:30 PM after a long day, I was shocked to hear from the staff that they don’t have room for me and they were sorry that they overbooked and there is nothing they can do about it. They directed me to Expedia to get the refund I’m a 70 year-old diabetic and my usual bedtime is 9 PM after 3 1/2 hours of going back-and-forth with the staff, they made alternate arrangement at 15 minutes drive with another Marriot property known as a Springhill Suites. They gave me a letter stating how sorry they are and apologizing and that at this new location present them with this letter and I will not be charged for my stay when at midnight, I arrived at the Springhill suite by Marriott the front desk to accept that letter and insisted that I must pay for my stay there and I had to give them my credit card information. They tried a couple of times to reach Fairfield Inn, but of no avail anyhow, it was my health so I paid and spent the night, but this all has left me with very bitter taste in my 35 years of staying with five star hotels Marriot, Hilton, etc. this was the worst experience in my life. I will never ever book any other hotel through Expedia or with Marriot.

The staff was amazing. I lost my passport and I called the front manager Ray and he took his time to go out and look for it in the parking lot and he found it! I was so grateful he was very nice and we would stay there again. The kitchen staff was also very friendly and hospitable.

House keeping need special attention . One of the pillow cover had more visible blood spot stains. Even they couldn't replace used bar soap.

The bed was very comfortable and staff provided services to meet all our needs including shuttle to airport. The handicap bathroom did not provide a safe shower.

Stayed one night for a flight. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable lots of food around the area. The lady at the front desk was super helpful and even had a fresh pot of coffee made for us for our 3 AM flight!

The breakfast was good each day. Staff was helpful. Pool was not as nice as the picture. 3 people in the room, not enough TP or towels but after asking got them. It was good for what we needed.

This is the perfect place to stay if you have an early flight. Unfortunately, we missed the breakfast, which I’m sure was delicious, because our flights left at 0 dark Hundred

That seemed like a poorly conceived marketing gimmick which leads one to think most rooms are "impure" with only a few being truly clean. We could have used a larger dresser and two more side chairs as the room was huge, but sparse with furniture. Shout out to Melvina in the breakfast room who really could lead TED Talks on customer service!!

Our room had a musty smell and housekeeping never came the second day of our stay. We had to request new towels. The staff was nice, especially at breakfast. The gym was small, but fine. We used and enjoyed the outdoor pool. The location is convenient to the airport and shopping. It was about a 25-30 min drive into Charleston.

Surprised by alot of outside traffic noise…only saw one friendly staff member checking in (late ck in)…Shuttle driver was the only person we saw checking out…and breakfast on Sundays starts serving at 7 a.m….so I was unable to have breakfast sadly…bathroom could use some updating…only 1 small bar of soap in the bathroom.

Clean room, excellent breakfast, friendly staff (and we interacted with many people over three days). Good price and easy commute to tourist sites downtown (15 minutes away). Minor downsides: Never got maid service during three-day stay. We didn't request it, but neither was it offered. Maids in the hallway just skipped us (no, the Do Not Disturb sign was not accidentally left out). The bathroom lacks free lotion; the bed had electrical outlets only on one side (which is why we always travel with an extension cord). The dresser is at floor level, weirdly impractical. But I'd certainly stay there again. My complaints are minor or manageable.

I do not understand the high rating for this location. We weren’t even in our room for three minutes when we saw two roaches run across the floor. We immediately told the man at the front desk and he didn’t even seem to care. Because we didn’t book direct, he said we could not get a refund so we could go somewhere else for the night, so we asked to be moved to a higher floor. I will never, ever stay at this hotel again.

They placed me in a handicap room, without telling me at check in. The room was super far from the entrance (poor disabled ppl) the shower head wrk 75% low pressure the sink didn’t drain well I had to clean after my use. clothing hangers where low (handicapped room) My cost was hung but dragged on the floor.

Our room was next to a major highway, and extremely noisy, we could not sleep all night. The room itself wasn’t bad, but the bathroom was very bad, wallpaper was coming off the walls, the shower water sprayed everywhere and we had to use all the towels to soak up the water after taking showers. Also, there was no conditioner in the bottle in the bathtub. The pressure from the showerhead made you feel like you were being pressure washed . When we checked out, the front desk employee asked if we had had a good stay, We stated no because of the road noise and that we did not sleep all night. The employee did not say one word to us after us telling her about the bad stay.

The staff apparently believes it can urinate on my leg and persuade me it's raining. All they have confirmed is that Marriott has gone straight downhill since it acquired Westin. This is just the last of too many incidents invoving Marriott. There are too many alternatives to continue to use Marriott.

Convenient to anything you could imagine. Shopping, restaurants, close to interstate. There were bathroom problems from day one that was turned in but never taken care. The shower door was coming off the wall, the drain did not drain properly and two cracks in the sink. This was reported daily and never fixed.

Great place but beds were hard.

The customer service here was excellent. Our flight was canceled so I ended up having to book last minute. This hotel provided a simple happy hour with wine and cheese which was great after a long day of work and the disappointment of the canceled flight. They arranged a drive back to the airport the next morning on a five AM Uber. Even made the group coffee way before they usually would.

FYI : the cooler was noisy coming on every time- kept us comfortable but noisy. Please check for the next people. Enjoyed the breakfast “lady so much!”

This place was in a good location to shops and food but the place is run down. The carpet is stained in the hallways and the room had several stains in the floor and the ceiling. The pullout is like sleeping on a bunch of springs no cushion.

The room wasn’t bad but it was extremely loud in the hallways. No one ever greeted me or even acknowledged I was there. The building smells like urine. The room had poor lighting in the bathroom and no lights on the ceiling to me it was odd.

Location was convenient to downtown with just a quick drive. Lots of shopping with the outlets nearby and many food options within 2 miles. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast had many options. Very happy with our stay!!

The hotel and the room were clean. I reserved the room at that location because it is conveniently located to the Charleston airport. There is no hot tub located at this lication or a fitness room. They serve breakfast which is always a plus for convenience and to save money on food while traveling. Not many bells and whistles, but a goid place for a few nights stay.

All the staff was amazing. They all went above and beyond. It was like a breath of fresh air staying here. The Tanger outlets were right across the road. There’s a Walmart close by sushi local bars restaurants I highly recommend.

However, my 4th floor room was very noisy late at night due to air traffic taking off and landing at the nearby airport.

This hotel stay was the perfect ending to a great cruise on the NCL Aqua. We cancelled a first class flight and decided to drive up the coast and stay a night in Charleston SC. We really enjoyed the size and comfort of this room. The hotel was located right across the street from the Tanger Outlets and other nearby activities didn't lack variety either. The front desk staff, Teresa, who checked us in around midnight was cheerful and pleasant. We awoke to thunderstorms so it was wonderful to chat with Margaret with her sunny personality in the breakfast area while I enjoyed some fresh hot coffee.

We only spent one night so did not take advantage of any amenities. It’s starting to show some wear and tear but was very clean and the staff very friendly and attentive.

My group and I had to rent an Uber to get to the airport, when the receptionist told us the night before that there would be a shuttle for us in the morning. The whole purpose of renting that location was for the shuttle. Uber was $30 I am not impressed, and the people next door to us had their tv blaring at 2am.

The property is directly across from the TANGER Outlet which is convenient.

Everything was good for our stay here. The only thing is I’m pretty sure the listing info said free parking and it was not, they charge $10 per day. All in all a pleasant stay though.

We got in late at 2:30 AM, and there was no one in the lobby to open the door and let us in. We tried calling the hotel and the corporate HQ. Corporate sent a security guy to help us, but he couldn't get in either. A staff member finally arrived at 5:00 and checked us into a room. After that, the stay was ok, but what kind of hotel doesn't have a night person on duty?

James was particularly helpful in the dining area. Cudos also to the fine office staff. Your people love their jobs and show it with the smiles! 😀

It was quick and simple check in. There were wires all over our floor from the ceiling, as I understand that they were requiring the internet. Our bathroom door was practically about to fall off. Overall, was an ok stay.

We were appalled to get in the bed and there was hair all in the bed on a dirty sheet. It was late when we got in so we just flipped the sheet to the clean side, but definitely didn’t get any sleep because of how grossed out we were. Everything else was fine, but 100% don’t recommend if they are not cleaning their sheets!! Gross!

We traveled to Charleston to attend a concert at the Coliseum. This hotel offers an airport shuttle, free coffee/breakfast/cookies, spacious room, and was walkable to restaurants/the venue. We did not even rent a car. On our last day we took a rideshare to downtown to explore, which was very nice. We would stay here again if heading back to the Coliseum.
