Extended Stay America Select Suites - Peoria - North

The refrigerator had black stuff at the bottom it was not very clean. Room service was not provided therefore our sheets were not changed the entire 10 days we were there our garbage was not emptied nor was our floors vacuumed. The only way we were able to get fresh towels were if we paid $1.75 per day since we were not enrolled in what they say room service program. We will not stay at this Extended Stay in Peoria Illinois again.

Our room also needed a lot of attention and maintenance. Some of the furniture was broken and everything just felt old and worn down. Overall, the hotel could really benefit from updates, better cleaning, and general upkeep. While we appreciated the kindness of the staff, the condition of the property made our stay disappointing.

Nothing. Booking.com over booked Extended Stay America and never sent myself an email stating that my stay was canceled. I have 3 children trying to stay in a hotel coming back from my son state track meet that was canceled unbeknownst to myself at 9pm. This was an awful experience but an eye opening one for sure. I will never use booking.com ever nor would I go to the trash hotel Extended American Inn that smell of weed and bad decisions.

Zero kitchen supplies, no house keeping, service fee for fresh linens, no shampoo/conditioner/moisturizer, had to take out my own trash, door didn't lock, downstairs guest knocked on my door complaining about noise....it was 6pm. Need I say more?

Guest really rude and not helpful

Location Rooms were dusty,walls were dirty, dirt and dust around borders of the walls. Smell of food from cooking in the rooms was gross. No one attended the front desk around the clock.

Air conditioner did not work sweated all night and the bed was very crunchy and uncomfortable. The desk closes at 10 p.m so if you have a problem there's no one to help with it.

The property is not really the extended stay brand. Having to pay for extra towels and kitchen supplies is ridiculous. Why have a kitchen and not supply the utensils. My refrigerator was not working properly. I called several times and was told no one was available. The next day I was told that the knobs on the refrigerator to turn them up or down were taken off purposely to avoid customers from touching them. Ridiculous, are we children?! Then the front desk hours are not 24hrs and I couldn't get a hold of anyone after 10pm or before 9am. I'm a traveling nurse and this is 1 property I will not stay at again.

The bathroom was disgusting and learning that sheets are only washed every other week was alarming before a 1 night stay.

I attempted to check in when i made reservation to sleep there for the night and no one was at front desk neither did they answer the phone when i called reservations center to transfer call to the office

Amenities needs to be improved

No kitchen supplies were available unless you pay which was so inconvenient for us.

First, they didn’t offer a breakfast, but Expedia's website showed that the reservation included breakfast. Second, my room wasn't clean; the toilet wasn't flushed after I used it. I had to push its flush lever a couple of time. I saw food a number food stains on the floors and a cockroach in the bathroom. Third, there weren't essentials such as shampoos, toothpaste, and kleenex. Fourth, my room card didn't work the exit door that is connected to the parking lot. Fifth, the mager wasn't available after 10 pm. Lastly, was no room phone to connect with the manager desk. I regretted that I reserved this hotel with Expedia.

Room was ok but no room service. Went to the front desk for clean towels and you have to pay for clean towels. You have to pay for local calls but i use my cell phone then they tried to charge me for a local call i didn't make. Online it say they had a pool and breakfast that was a lie

Housekeepers did not clean the room very well there was hair everywhere on the cooktop and in the bathroom. The bed was made but once again hair. I know they seen it. The floor was dirty. I should not have to come and reclean just to be comfortable.

They didn't have breakfast like it said on the internet. No coffee maker in the rooms and none in the lobby, no ice machine. The room had a phone that didn't work, there was a big water puddle and a broken light fixture upon opening the door. We left at 7am and the front desk was closed. I will never stay at one again.

Over priced is the main issue. It’s a clean hotel for the most part didn’t like the smell in the room. $400 for 3 nights isn’t too high for a hotel like this. Friendly front desk staff member. But will definitely not be returning.

Just a quick night to catch an early flight. I had expectations based upon other extended stays. This place is sketchy! The clientele was questionable. The room is VERY outdated and the furniture extremely worn! The cleaning was iffy - using bleach would help. We would never recommend. Obviously, get what you pay for here.

We did not stay at the hotel because of a change in plans at the last minute. Requested a cancellation through Expedia but was told it was too late. Sudden emergencies should not stop someone from cancelling a room and allowing the hotel to be double paid for the room. Also, not happy with the virtual assistant who was absolutely no help on the Expedia website.

My Favorite place when I am in town

Room was ok. No breakfast as advertised. Was never able to connect to WiFi after spending 30 minutes with their tech support for my work so left early.

Staff was very friendly. Lobby looked nicely decorated. Unfortunately, quality of hotel has otherwise significantly decreased since stay last year. Room looked very shabby and somewhat dirty. Hallway smelled of pot. Free breakfast was advertised, but we were told upon arrival it was no longer offered. Dishes and basic toiletries were no longer provided in the room. Wifi did not work when we first arrived. Call to tech support did not lead to a fix. Wifi was eventually working much later that evening. We will not stay here again.

The front desk lady, Valerie, is always very nice. I have stayed here a few times and always have good service. This is a no frills hotel but for the price its not bad at all! The kitchen area is nice and the bathrooms are a nice size. I like that the doors look at 11pm and you cant enter the hotel without a room key. I will stay here again and id recommend it to a friend.

Decent place for the price. The room was big and I appreciated the reclining chair. I was disappointed that an extended stay room with a kitchen came with absolutely no utensils, coffee maker, or toaster. An extra $40 for a cookware kit and $20 for a dinnerware kit they were offering was more than it cost me to buy the essentials at Walmart. It's unlikely that I'll stay there again.

Could use some updating. I liked the kitchenette cabinets could use so updating. Toilet did not look like it was clean. Staff really great.

Not exactly sure when the last time they actually cleaned the room but it wasnt in the past decade.

This was fine for a few nights stay and convenient location for where we needed to go. Had everything we needed. Beds were a bit hard and don’t try to have a hot shower at peak time in the evening as water will be cold. Breakfast is rubbish so don’t rely on that. Staff were helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking and quiet and safe. Room was clean, air conditioning good. Not the worst place to stay and good for the price. Would stay again if I had to.

Staff was great with working with our group that arrived later in the evening due to a VRBO reservation canceling on us. The hotel had a sign about plumbing issues and sadly our room was one that had some issues. However, the staff worked with us to make sure that we were happy with our stay and took care of us. Wish the breakfast had more options and/or even microwavable breakfast sandwiches.

The toilet didn’t flush unless you took the tank lid off and did it. Even after maintenance came and fixed it. The shower never got hot. Just mildly warm. After a long day at the ball field we just wanted to a shower. There was no vacancy’s so we couldn’t switch rooms either.

This place was not quiet a dump, but close to it. Older, grungy (not in a recent musical genre), but far from nice. Everything was cut rate - and I got what I paid for - a room. The bathroom was small and the out dated - as were the towels. The "functional kitchenette" worked, but pretty much pointless. The hallways had a skunky-beer smell. The batteries in the TV controller were dead, so I had not TV the first night. The band-width for the TV was so bad that the TV signal was unwatchable my second night. The bed was a bed very very hard. The other furniture in the room was really, really impractical-the dining table would seat one person, so I used it as a desk, since the desk was actually the nightstand. Ugg. Next time I head to Peoria, I'll stay somewhere better since there are lots of places to from from.

We have stayed in this hotel for the past 2 years coming down from Milwaukee, WI to Peoria. The people are always very nice and helpful!

Overall it was a good pleasant stay. The only thing that was very disrespectful is they had men outside between their work trailers bbq with table spreaded. Drinking and laughing really loud with loud music in the early am 12 midnight til 4am. THIS WAS HORRIBLE. I did tell the desk staff and just thanked me for telling them and nothing else...like they knew but did not care.

The shower was filthy, called the front desk 3 times with no answer through the night, smoke detector in room kept beeping, ( not the type to.just tske battery out). When i check3d out the person was very short and acted like i was bothering him. Definitely would not recommend

The staff that checked us in on Tuesday afternoon was so friendly and helpful! However the staff that was there overnight that we encountered when we in late, for the night was rude and smart mouthed and not helpful and you could tell was waiting for us to fail. So rude!

Stay far away unless you want to take bed bugs home! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, it’s not their fault. But the management should be ashamed. The whole hotel is rundown and needs updating, and obviously an exterminator! We packed up our things in a panic in the middle of the night and drove home. Thank god we weren’t very far, came into town for a concert and found the bugs when just laid in bed. Had to wash everything hot water as soon as we stepped in our door praying I didn’t take any back with us!

Couldn’t complain everything was up to my standards very good living conditions I will visit there again.

Stay far, far away from this place! The staff was very friendly but that is all that is good about this place. Men hanging out in the kitchen parking lot, smell of weed around them, run down place - needs to be remodeled badly. Rented the room for one night stayed 3 hours and left. Not a good place for a single female to stay.

The first room we was on had no air and stunk really bad. The second room was still stinky, the air came on but it needed service. The person upfront told me this hotel is old, I'll give you your money back and to go find a better one. He also gave me a free night to stay at any extended stay.

The abandoned bank next door was a prelude to the filth to come. We were informed of the smoking policy, then found our room to reek of cigarette smoke when my wife’s eyes and my throat was irritated. The bed skirt was absolutely filthy with dirt and hair hanging from it, so there was no way we were going any further with our stay and left.

Desk attendants friendly. Riff raff hanging around parking lot made approach sketchy. Room was ok bed was springs on top of pallets comfortable. No hot water in shower/tub. Refrigerator was not cold and knob to increase temperature was missing so it was a warm fridge.

The front desk ladies were super helpful and friendly. Helped us get a room where our dogs wouldn’t bother anyone. The room was good. Double bed is kinda small but comfy. Our room smelled heavily of pot when we came back from our night out. So bad we had to air it out. The no smoking should be enforced for marijuana as well!

There is nothing in the kitchen or bathroom other than towels so you need to bring your own items or go to the front desk whenever you want anything. Also there is no ice machine so you need to make your own in the freezer and wait for them to be ready. Finally, we were placed in a room right off of the lobby and the walls are PAPER THIN. We were awoken at about 4:45am by conversations in the lobby and there was no going back to sleep as the noise didn’t end. If you get placed in one of these rooms request another!!!

They couldn’t find our reservation and then they said they put us in a two double beds, like we paid for with our reservation online, but we only got one double bed.

This location was perfect for traveling with 2 children and a cat.

The outside of the hotel looked nice. The room smelled like stale smoke and musty. There was dust on the refrigerator and the counter tops were stained and did not look clean. It was not as pictured in the pictures.

We were called at 11:10pm Friday evening to tell us that a pot and a pan were available at that time. Hmmm, was I expected to run right down and get it before it was given away or had it "just" became available at that time at night? Heading out for the day on Saturday morning, we were offered a bin full of dishes, coffee, sugar, creamer, etc. after making other plans for meals. I was told that a "shipment" had come in. Evidently, that was after the pot and pan became available at 11pm. That evening after settling in for the night we discovered ants in the bed. Oh Joy! Knowing that the hotel was full, we just shook them out of the bed as best that we could and settled in for another restless night full of itching and scratching for real and imagined ants. Sunday morning we asked for another room which we received that afternoon after morning cleaning rounds. This new room was what we expected the first night. No discounts were ever offered.

Staff was friendly. However the common areas were dirty. Stepping onto the elevator was very dirty. Carpet was old clearly not cleaned. Hallways smelled old. As we arrived to our room, there was a young man sitting at the table laughing on his cell. Lastly, upon our late night return to the hotel, there were quite a few men socializing/drinking on the property grounds. It wasn't the worst, but i wouldn't stay there again.

I was very impressed with the service and the room. I got in the room and checked it , looking for any inconveniences and found none!! Everything worked to my liking and the room was very clean I was very pleased. Check in was easy and Valarie was very professional and nice! She even called up to the room to check on me and see if I needed anything which was great and sweet! I appreciated that so much! Check out was fast and pleasant, Valarie took good care of me. I will definitely be back.

I have been going to this hotel for years, always stay here when I visit Peoria. They have the friendliest staff and convenient location! Affordable with kitchenette. Will continue to come here when in town!

Floor had not been vacuumed in a long time. There were large chunks of stuff on the floor. When we informed them- they said they would look into it tomorrow- no offer to move rooms. I was having heart surgery the next morning and am supposed to shower the night before and again the next morning and stay as clean as possible. Then, my husband had to throw out our food in the fridge as it was not working. Will never stay there again.

I am a traveling nurse working 3rd shift and I had asked for a late checkout and every time (second week in a row) that the late check out was never passed along and the hotel staff came around beating on the door at 11 (normal check out). I do a late check out because I am scheduled to work that same night of checkout and try to sleep as long as I can before my shift. It just ruins the whole sleep and then causes me to be exhausted all night at work. Not sure why the communication cannot seem to happen. The first time I stayed they allowed me to sleep as long as I wanted and never charged me extra, but not the following 2 times I stayed. I returned because of the amazing hospitality I received after the first visit, but have not been back since.

It's so hard to rate during COVID, but the front desk staff was great and very helpful. The hotel itself was a little run down, but everything was clean in the lobby, hallways, and my room. I was looking for a place to sleep at night, and really not much else, for a 3 day trip. They met expectations. I saw past customer ratings were 7/10. I'd give them a 9/10.
