    Traveled with 2 year toddler & 9 month old furbaby. Good stay. Now, this is a older property and could use small updated amenities and necessities. Grounds were clean. Plenty of parking. Breakfast selection was good. Location has plenty food selections around and beach is right up the road straight shot about 5 minute drive.

    Staff is very friendly and helpful. Decent looking facilities. You can tell they’ve remodeled. Rooms could have been cleaner. Behind beds and furniture is not very clean. Pool was nice.

    My only issue was the A/C in the room did not work well at all. It was muggy and warm in the room. I let the front desk know, and she offered to have maintenance come look at it, but we were heading out for the evening. Other than that everything was great and I highly recommend.

    Room had odd smell, baby spiders & gnats in bathroom area, black hair in sink, bathroom light couldn’t be turned on without extremely loud exhaust fan coming on with it. I’m only 5-11 and 200 pounds; however, I could barely fit in there… Only things good were the cost & the friendly staff.

    Our AC was not working on the first night of our stay, and we had to sleep without it in very hot conditions. The next morning, I notified the front desk, and I was told maintenance would come to switch out the AC unit. However, when maintenance arrived, they only turned the unit on, despite me explaining that it had been turning on and off and that the temperature kept rising. Since the issue was not resolved, I had to return to the front desk again to report that the AC was still not working. We were then moved to another room, but the staff member assisting us seemed visibly bothered by the situation. Unfortunately, the issues continued in the new room. The bathroom did not have a shower curtain. I called the front desk to report this, and the same staff member brought a curtain to the room but told me I would need to install it myself. This was disappointing, as it should have been addressed by housekeeping. When I asked if she could install it, she said she did not know how and eventually called a maintenance worker to come and put it up. Overall, the experience was frustrating due to the multiple inconveniences and lack of proper service and follow-through.

    everything is around the hotel, the ac feels good after being outside all day just a personal thing the beds and pillow were a bit hard but my dad and his friend liked the way it felt. my microwave didn’t work, the water pressure felt a bit weak but port a is on stage 3 water restrictions rn so it makes sense.

    What is there to say except for thank yall! Everytime we come and stay with yall, it’s always friendly staff and guests, hot waffles for my son, and a grand ole time at the beach. Location is great! Located in Old Port A, it’s right across from dolphin docks fishing charters and just down the road are Robert’s point, the ferry, the tackle shop, and the top restaurants on the island in my opinion (fins and Virginia’s) the road also has the sipyard for live music and a little pina colada. Will always book at least once a year to support! Will be back!

    Everything was “not quite ready”. From room check-in, morning coffee and breakfast. Room was pretty good, although didn’t live up to what advertised on website. Small but comfortable, but for only 4 cars there, you’d think a slightly early check-in, and breakfast and coffee would be ready.

    I think you may have an extreme mold problem. I’d get a mold test kit and put it in your rooms. I had an extreme headache till I went outside in some fresh air this morning. Everything else was acceptable but get it checked out could smell the musty mold smell when we walked in.

    The staff are friendly. Free breakfast is always a good perk. There was a little snafu that happened; a man walked into our room while we were there and later our key card didn’t work so I’m assuming they had given our room to somebody else but I guess it was corrected because no issues after that. The room was clean but there were stains on the towels. They should replace and upgrade the towels. We were thankful that we could bring our two small dogs with us for a fee. I stayed here about a month ago and wanted to stay here on a return trip. It is a great location for everything.

    Room was usual to their standards (we have stayed here often within last 10 years). Quality of amenities has declined. No kleenex in room, outdated food in complimentary breakfast, much less variety. Water was off one morning, but that wasn't their fault, but meant no coffee, etc. Just not up to the standards of the past. Prices reasonable and rooms good.

    Staff needs to be more attentive. But were responsive to solve problems. Nice property, good beds and pillows, a/c was quiet and worked well enough. Shower head worked fine. The pool was very enjoyable, well maintained with nice landscaping. Lots of palm trees. The parking lot was very well lit, at night Felt safe. TV worked pretty good. Breakfast was okay. Just cereal and waffles, with some yogurt, muffins and some toast. But for the price, I had a nice stay.

    Hotel staff did not speak English very well at all and we're very difficult to understand and communicate with. The breakfast was a total disappointment, only a few stale bagels and toast, two waffle makers one of which was broken, and some fruit that had been there for several days. Breakfast not at all is advertised. Worst of all the smoke detector in my room was hanging by a wire and the room needed to be updated. I informed the clerk I was checking out a day early by letting them know 24 hours in advance. She said that they were still charge me for the room regardless. I would suggest a different hotel.

    Everything was Incrediblely Great. From the Kindness and Professional attendance from "Cherry" to the Room itself. Although if I may, after a Long drive from San Antonio I would like to be able to Check In a little sooner to rest awhile before hitting the Beach rather than 4 O'clock. But otherwise, I Loved It.     Parking was the first issue—spaces are extremely tight. We drive a Silverado, and it was almost impossible to park without being on the line. Since we arrived at 1am, many cars were double-parked, so we had no choice but to do the same. The biggest concern was finding roaches in our first room (#205). We immediately notified the front desk, and to their credit, they apologized and moved us to another section of the hotel (#219). Thankfully, we didn’t see any more roaches after that. Breakfast was another letdown. The food itself was below average and the dining area was very messy. Every table we saw (6–7 of them) had crumbs or spills, and it looked like staff only cleaned up after breakfast hours ended. We had to wipe down our own table both mornings. On top of that, coffee was watered down and many items weren’t stocked. The only positives were the waffles, yogurt, and cereal. The final frustration was that they advertise on-site laundry and ice machines, but everything was out of service—the ice machine, washer, and dryer. This was especially inconvenient since we needed those amenities for a beach trip. Overall, between the roaches, messy breakfast, broken amenities, and parking situation, I can’t recommend this hotel and wouldn’t stay here again.

    The tv didn’t work. When we requested assistance we were informed maintenance would come to our room. That never happened. The phone didn’t work. We had to walk down for requests of towels, soap and toilet paper. The front desk gave us a specific place to park our truck and box trailer then called us while at dinner asking us to move it. The location we moved it bothered no other customers it was very frustrating. Towels were scarce.

    Property was average in condition but trash cans were overflowing when we first arrived. Main 2 complaints were no WiFi and the air conditioners are insanely loud. While running it’s white noise but when they start you first hear loud water draining noise then a very loud clunk like the front door was closed hard. Needless to say both wake you/startle you each time which is more than once an hour due to being on the Texas coast. Obviously not much sleep was had and zero restful sleep. If we go back in future, ear plugs will be a MUST.

    Great place to stay a weekend at. The room i had was comfortable and clean. I wish they would upgrade the complimentary soaps. They dried my skin out. I would have used mine but i had forgotten them in the car lol. All in all its a great place for a weekend. Food and surf shops close by and plenty of parking. Pool was small but nice as well.

    It was'nt so much the Hotel, rather the people that stay there. People were up all night talking and laughing loudly. Someone had a dog that was barking all night.

    My friend chose the place and I booked my room because I had points with Hotels.com I needed to burn. Otherwise, I would have chosen a Hilton property for the Hilton points. My friend ended up bailing on the trip. When we arrived I texted him and told him we were at the hotel. He asked how the property was and I told him it was a real stinkhole. Haha. I was just kidding though. It was actually pretty solid. Checkin was good. Air was good. Room clean and comfortable. Would def stay again. It’s not the Embassy Suites but… pretty “suite” nonetheless.

    Great location from store, beach and restaurants, but the rooms are starting to look run down. Towel hanger hanging off the back of bathroom door, walk in showers spray all over causing floor to get wet, toilet paper holder broken. They don't keep the doggie poop bag holder filled anymore. Wish they had protien options on the breakfast bar.

    I had a bad experience at check in this would’ve been my second time staying here at this hotel so at check in i give them my name to check in basic hotel protocol the receptionist then proceeds to ask how many people are under the age of 21 which I was and one other person was but then there was an additional person that was over the age the receptionist then proceeded to tell me that there was a deposit which again I travelled before so it was not a big deal then she proceeded to tell me that it was a $250 deposit which is completely absurd I’ve stayed at hotels that would be classified as 4-5 star hotels and they have never charged me that much the deposit was more than what i would have spent on the room so I said okay yeah i’ll have to pass she then referred me to another hotel down the street which i had no problem with due to what i spent on the room at the other hotel was way cheaper than the deposit at captains again the hotel is very hospitable but i wish the $250 deposit was known before I drove to Port Aransas and I could’ve researched and exercised all options.

    I like that the hotel was close to the beach and the main road. However you can hear everything. If someone is outside you can listen to their conversation. Plus you hear the boats leaving in the morning.

    First day we got there we told the person at the front desk that the AC was making a loud noise and a dirty towel was left hanging in the bathroom. Second day we get back from the beach and as we're finally relaxing in our room the AC literally blows and it's so loud that people from the pool and walking by are along if everything is OK. We had to cut our trip short cause no rooms were available anywhere and lost out on money from other things we had planned. So disappointing

    You get what you pay for, it's a little run down and the cleaning was only so so. My spose and I got a ladt minute room late Friday night, 2 Queen beds, and one Queen bed was dirty, but it was late, so we just stayed in the 1. Luckily I was just traveling with my partner so it wasn't a big deal but still frustrating to wonder how dirty the whole room was. Breakfast was waffles and a few other things.There were sugar free options.

    My husband and I have stayed at this property on and off for close to 20 years. We like to stay there due to its proximity to places to eat and to the marina. It’s always had its up and downs but we were extremely disappointed in the condition of the property at this time. Our heater did not work in our assigned room but we were given a space heater and we expressed our concern with the approaching cold front if it would be enough. The tv didn’t work and it was discovered there wasn’t a coax cable but a staff member did take one from another room. We asked if the heater could be fixed the next day but were told that the whole unit was going to need to be replaced. We had no trash can in our room and had to request one. Due to us believing the space heater would not be enough to keep us warm I informed the front desk I would be placing a complaint. Later that day I received a call from the front desk informing us that they would be moving us to another room. Not long after this they called back to say that room had maintenance issues and we were now being moved to a suite. The suite was nice and the heaters worked. The tv in the bedroom worked but not the one in the living area. We chose not to inform the front desk as by this point we were tired of talking to them. I’m not sure if we will stay there again unfortunately.

    We’ve stayed twice.. the first time 2 weeks ago wasn’t too bad.. we had no towels in our room and had to go searching bc for someone to get towels and then they were stained and dirty. The breakfast was very… non existent.. waffles and stale bread.. this stay.. was so much worse.. our door would not close unless we slammed it shut ridiculously hard and then it wouldn’t lock properly.. and then we saw no less than 5 roaches in the room! And that wasn’t till the next day when we woke up. The ac didn’t work, the door to the restroom didn’t lock, the blowdryer didn’t work, and there was very low water pressure. I tried to give it a second chance and it was just worse. And the breakfast was still horrible! I can honestly say don’t stay here, even if your desperate!

    I would highly recommend not even looking into this hotel. From the moment we checked in there were non-stop problems. We initially reserved a room months before our stay, when we checked in, we were given the wrong room. The lady at the front desk was trying her best to be accommodating and was able to find us an upgraded room for part of our stay. With traveling and the back and forth with the room, we dropped our bags and went to dinner. When we got back from dinner, we were able to do a once over of the room. At that point bed bugs were discovered in the master bedroom amongst other bugs through out the suite. We went back to the main office and to say the least, that is where the fun began. Despite it being a family vacation, we ended up staying in a different, much cleaner hotel down the street. The other rooms in our party seemed to be ok. For the next 3-4 days, we got the run around from various workers about getting a refund as we did not stay on premise for more than 30 minutes. Not to make this a drawn out review, but at the end of running around for over a week, being called a liar by several staff members despite have geo tagged and time stamped proof, trying to get a refund, i was told absolutely no refund would be granted. I tried reaching out to Expedia who sided with the property, i would recommend staying away from them as well. My only recourse was to file a dispute with my credit card company. The only thing this property has going for it is the location.

    It was a nice spot but the wall that was in the bathroom was cracked and some floor tiles. Getting woken up early due to the person above us stomping back and forth for over an hour. But it was clean, would stay again but maybe choose the second floor.

    Bed bugs and the management denied it even after seeing them and photos of them then refused any refund and threatened to call the police if we didn’t leave the premises. Been staying here since they opened but things have changed under the new owners and management. We had a total of six rooms and they sad to our faces they didn’t care if we had the whole place booked.

    The bathroom was stinky, I have to buy air freshener. The mattress is dirty, I will NOT stay in this hotel anymore! You have to ask towels at the front desk. No trash cans! At least breakfast is okay.
