Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Airport

Very loud PA system sends unintelligible undesired wake-up ascending through atrium, even into the rooms. Could do better.

My room had a beautiful Mountain View and I could watch planes land on two different approaches to the airport. The room was quiet and especially clean.

Best hotel breakfast. The furniture is a bit worn down at this location and ready for repair or replacement.

Be prepared to do laundry in the middle of the night. They only have one washer and one dryer for the entire hotel.

Love the nice spacious one bedrooms. Room is complete with microwave and coffeepot. I also love the breakfast that is included. Comfortable beds and friendly staff. So convenient to the Portland Airport. We would stay here again and we would recommend to others.

This is a typical Embassy Suites with the space of a suite. It was clean and the breakfast was good. We also had lunch upon our arrival. The food for lunch was OK. It is the closest hotel to the Portland Airport, which is why we stayed there.

Best breakfast around and the shuttle service was especially great.

The price was pretty fair for the size of room you get. The room was a good size. Complimentary breakfast was above average with a good quality and better selection than most. Cons: The shower had hair on the wall of the shower when we arrived. There was pieces of paper on the floor between the window and the bed. They charge for parking in the parking lot on top of the room fair. There is plenty of parking.

Property clean. Staff nice, especially Don in the lounge/bar. He gives fantastic friendly service. Our only complaints were the air conditioning in the room was so loud, hard to sleep. TV in old and controls not real intuitive needs updating for both. Being there on a Saturday it was disappointing the restaurant/bar not open until 5PM. We had to walk to a neighborhood hotel close (Sheraton) that had restaurant and bar open all day. The free drink ticket and snacks at happy hour for guests that started at 5PM was very nice though. Friendly staff serving guests there. Due to the fact it’s an airport hotel, you have to register and pay for parking through a 3rd party company. It’s a huge parking lot and seems guests staying overnight should get free parking. However, it’s not free parking and you have to take the extra step to login, register, and give your credit card to the parking company. Kinda inconvenient. It was $21. hotel says $20 parking fee but the parking company charges an extra $1. Other than noted items keeping it from being 5 stars, it’s Embassy Suites value and cleanliness you can count on, with nice atrium, pond, and sitting areas throughout.

Stayed the night for a layover flight. Very good accommodations for a few hours.

The lobby looks really nice. Should spend that money on room renovations and food upgrades. Had icecream that didn’t even melt. Beds are extremely uncomfortable and I would have had to change hotels if staying more than one night. Horrible mattress. Horrible. Very close to the airport and didn’t hear any planes so that was actually great.

I did not like paying to park my car overnight … outrageous! The process to pay was very time consuming and very unnecessary! Otherwise, the place was just fine.

I didn’t use any amenities. I was unsure about how the parking worked but I think I used the QR code posted in the lot and made payment correctly. Just didn’t understand why there were gates for entry/exit but they always had the arm up. Elevators were dated with floor surfaces in disrepair. Didn’t need room key to ascend to room floor but had that type of system in place.

After asking staff about this, hoping to get a different room, they there were extremely unhelpful and made no effort to remedy the situation, offer solutions, or even apologize for the inconvenience. I ended up just leaving. Very disappointed since the last time I stayed here was quite pleasant.

The fish and chips were very good Most of the staff was polite and professional After a few days we requested a room refresh 4 times before it was finally done. We ran out of toilet paper, our trash cans were over filling and glassware and dishes piling up. The pillows were hard, towels thin, and windows dirty. The fish and chips we had for dinner were good the first night, but the salmon and halibut were so overcooked they were inedible. I would not stay at your hotel again.

My room had dirty sheets. I slept on the top of the bed I’m my own travel blanket. There was someone’s medication and bandaid on the bedroom floor. The bath tube had hair and pubic hair on the tub. This is really unacceptable. I arrived so late from the airport that I just needed to sleep. I have stayed here before with clean rooms. This room clearly had cleaning staff who didn’t do their job.

The lobby was really nice, reminded me of a vegas hotel. Paid parking was a bummer especially at the high rate, also the “free” drinks that you only had like an hour to use between 5 and 6.

My first time staying at Embassy Suites I hosted my 5 year old grandson and nephews and they all had the best time we built core memories for sure! From the coy fish and wish fountains, to the airport and unobstructed view. Spacious, clean and inviting staff. The complimentary breakfast was all that and then some. I can’t wait to book another family night!

I stayed there 10 yrs ago and they had a hot tub and I didn't realize they removed it. Also, the happy Hour was a nice time to catch up with friends and family not staying at the hotel... now they can't.

They charges $21 to park our car one night while we stayed there. This is on top of the $200+ we paid for just one night. I think this is just too much and I will not be staying here again

Great happy hour! Also the breakfast is available early , which is nice when you have an early flight. I love having the extra space of a suite, so helpful when one person has insomnia or needs to get up early. Rooms are clean and the staff is very nice. The location is great for catching a flight but it’s also convenient for getting around town or accessing freeways. Parking feels safe. I am a light sleeper and I couldn’t hear the planes while inside the hotel. The waterfall and coy ponds create a relaxing atmosphere.

When you stay at a hotel and you have to pay $20 a night for parking and you’re self-employed as far as business that’s a little frustrating plus on top of it. They told me I had to request my room to be cleaned the three nights I was there one employee said it was Covid. I look at that as cost-cutting and as far as the breakfast that was great.

My suite was clean, cozy and quiet even with planes flying nearby. The free breakfast & evening reception were a bonus. Did not use restaurant & bar, but options look good. Pool area and gym are very clean and serviced. Pet friendly hotel that also allows dogs & cats. Other hotels in area only allow service dogs. Light rail to airport and downtown Portland is close by and 7 Eleven right across the street. Close to Cascade Station for shopping and restaurants. Parking is very pricey @ $20/day and my only negative, but it does feel safe to park overnight at least.

We love this hotel! Very conventionally located to the airport and has an evening reception with drinks and small appetizers (chips/salsa, trail mix, etc.). The breakfast is amazing with custom made to order omelets and lots of selection. Rooms are very spacious with two tvs and a separate living/bedroom area. Definitley worth the money!

I slipped in the bathroom the next morning. was not aware that when my husband showered the entire floor would flood. I hit my head and elbow. just warn your guests to stay out of the bathroom if you are not the disabled person, sever slip and fall risk water every where and a glass broke as well. Scary

The hotel is quite unique with a large interior that has gardenscapes and koi ponds throughout. Walk ways allow you to meander through checking out fish and a variety of plants. Dining: The restaurant could use a little more work in decor and layout, but the service there is always good. My last meal had way too much MSG, which I have a reaction to. Wish places stopped using MSG. Regular salt and spices are preferred by most folks. The Rooms: The rooms are very spacious and the layout is set up with separate lounging and sleeping area. The beds could be a bit better quality. You can definitely feel springs and the room felt dusty this time. Anytime I am on the airport side of this hotel, I never sleep, which is a bummer. There is always a looming humming noise on that side. The shower setup is confusing and I could not get my spigot on to run a bath. The drain did not drain properly so when I took a shower water pooled up to past my ankles and after I shut off the water is drained very slowly. Shuttle: The airport shuttle to and from the hotel is a plus. Runs every 20 minutes to and from hotel during peak times and pick up at airport is at Island 2. For early morning and late night shuttle request at the desk. Front desk: Check in and out is always efficient and the staff are very accommodating.

Always enjoy staying at this Embassy Suites. The location is convenient for driving to where we need to go to in the Portland area. The rooms are spacious and so nice to have the separate bedroom and living room set up. The fitness center has good equipment and you can't beat the daily breakfast. We will stay here again.

The bed was so hard I tried sleeping on pillows, then moved to the couch. When we checked in I asked about a cart for our luggage, she just shrugged and said they must be all in use. A gentleman went into a storage room and pulled two out. She wasn’t about to look into it.

The reception staff were good, but not upto the par as Sheraton, Mariott groups- they definitely lacked the warmth and smile. The hospitality, friendliness and smile was lacking in both he front staff ladies. Also the evening complimentary snacks had almost no choice and was definitely not a 'Hilton' standard. It used to be better 3 years back

Beautiful hotel. I loved the water feature in the lobby. The room was very nice and comfortable. I also made use of the fitness center and the swimming pool. I enjoyed my stay.

We arrived at 3 in the morning “our” time, had two delayed flights to get to PDX. Needless to say we were exhausted. The check in was quick and friendly, the room was beautiful, and the beds were comfy.

Room was very nice as well as the front desk and breakfast staff. I have stayed a Double Trees in the past and will continue to do so.

Lobby area is stunning as always. Pool area could definitely use some attention. Lots of rust, and pool area didn’t feel very clean as a whole. definitely surprised and disappointed that we now have to pay to park after already paying to stay at the hotel.

The parking process is ridiculous! Why is it separate from our hotel registration? We’re seniors. We got in late and after registering we had to deal with getting an app on our phone to register our rental car.!!! We finally got all the info from the car and paid with our credit card. Tired and hungry we made our way to the bar and ordered dinner. We’re not returning to this property.

I arrived late at PDX. The hotel shuttle was convenient and easy to find. I grabbed a burger at the lobby restaurant at 9:30pm. The room was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable. I had to catch the shuttle back to the airport at 5:30am the next morning. I definitely recommend this hotel.

The only thing is we had a dinner in restaurant but the potatoes were stone cold mashed potatoes n my fruit cheese tray had like 3 berries n a couple of apricots n 4 pieces of cheese....18.00 was little bit much. We always stay here n will continue but will go to bar n get apps instead !

Loved the waterfall in the atrium. Will definitely stay here again if I need a night in Portland between flights.

The room was very clean and smelled clean. I even went in with a disinfecting wipe and it was clean. Although the room could do with a much better mattress for the pull out bed. The springs did in the back. My kids had a hard time sleeping. Also the doors need replacing as pieces are coming off the bottom portion. Pool water was super cloudy as well. Breakfast was tasty with good options. I was very happy to see a gluten free bagel.

The rooms are definitely suites! A living room area, bathroom and bedroom. Inside the hotel is beautiful with an indoor fish pond. Breakfast was on point. We will continue to book through this franchise. Also, we had a midnight flight arrival and they shuttled us from the airport to the hotel. Easy peasy.

My kids look forward to the buffet breakfast at each stay we have at an Embassy Suites location. This location was beautiful with the indoor water features. The fish were a hit for my kids. When I reserved my room, I did not know there was some sports convention and there were tons of kids running up and down the halls and yelling! I called the front desk and they tried their best to move me to floor where there were lest kids. I truly appreciated that. The down side was there are thee elevators and one was down. They move awfully slow and with the amount of kids it took forever to finally get on one of the two working elevators. I unfortunately didn’t get to enjoy the pool as there were so many people, and the same goes for the breakfast… just too many people I decided to go out and buy food instead. I’m sure staying at time with less guests this place would be wonderful! I’ll definitely give it another try.

Lots of corrugating in the halls and yelling across the building late at night and early morning. It would be nice to have staff correcting the noise, as there were signs asking people not to be loud during those hours.

Booked room with 2 beds got room with 1 bed, front desk said his computer says the room had 2 beds. Totally wrong. The room itself had the full size 8 person business conference table in it. Not sure how our room was storage also. Had to use sofa fold out which was not clean and very uncomfortable. The toilet clogged. It was just overall a very disappointing stay.

Upon arrival, the check-in process was less than ideal. There was a significant wait due to only one staff member at the desk, and although a supervisor came to assist, I noticed some distracting side conversations among the employees. The room itself was very clean, which I appreciated, but it did feel somewhat outdated. I noticed that the bathroom door had what appeared to be scratches at the bottom, and the caulking around the tub could use replacement. Additionally, the sofa bed had some brown stains on it, and the TV remote was not functioning. While I did call the desk for assistance and they promptly provided a new remote and extra towels, it would have been preferable to have everything in working order upon check-in, especially since there were only three towels for our party. Despite these issues, I want to emphasize that everything else about my stay was wonderful. This is my third time visiting this hotel, and I truly enjoy the overall experience. I appreciate the staff's efforts and look forward to seeing improvements on my next visit. Thank you!

The room was not clean at check in and the staff was indifferent when I informed them. I had to clean the bathroom myself as there was literally urine all over the toilet seat and tons of little curly hair all over the shower and bathroom floor.

Only issues were the drunk wedding or celebration guest at midnight and a 0130 ..

We will always stay here from now on. It was great.

Reserved a double occupancy room and got a single bed. Other party ended up having to use couch which is uncomfortable. Our food and drinks were great as well as the staff. Went to go to bed and there was a party going on and the adjacent room, Extremely Loud tried calling front desk no staff available anywhere to help.

The day of our departure, we ended being stuck in the elevator for one hour. I had my entire family with a loaded up baggage cart in the elevator stuck between the 1st and 2nd floors. Took the fire dept and elevator service man to get us out after an hour. The ESH mgr at the front desk said she would comp our rooms but havent seen any credit yet. Very tramatic experience!

Great place to have a family Xmas gathering for our family with adjoining rooms. Breakfast is always awesome with such a variety of food for everyone.This year we got validated parking which really helped as we have 3 cars. Will stay next year again as this was our 4th Xmas staycation. Definitely recommend this hotel. We love it!

The location is great with the park and fly option. Only 5 minutes from the Airport. The evening reception is nice and the rooms are spacious and immaculate. Helpful, friendly staff.

Good hotel

The staff was welcoming & very accommodating. The rooms were nicely furnished. The only thing keeping the stay from being perfect was hearing the planes ; of course, proximity to the airport was a key factor in choosing this hotel.

The room was spotless, the front desk staff was kind. There was a male housekeeper that wasnt so pleasant. He was watching my kids throughout the stay. They asked him if they could take a picture of the cleaning push cart for a scavenger hunt and he told them no. Then stopped what he was doing and proceeded to lean over the banister to watch them leave. Definitely made it known he wasn't kid friendly. They also ran out of pancakes during breakfast and there was an event going on the same night we stayed and so the cocktail reception line was really long. Overall the stay was still good. Only there for a layover flight. Perfect location to make your flight in time. Love that you schedule a shuttle ride. I wasn’t happy about the bar closing early. I had to rush to put my order in, but there are restaurants nearby. Staff were super friendly. Loved my room, very spacious, great amenities and clean. Bed was very comfortable.

Rooms were very dusty, even the bathroom, bathtub had a ring, sofa in the seating area was not usable (either a broken frame or something else). Housekeeping needs to do better. We stayed at three different hotels during our trip to Oregon. Two were independent hotels more “local” type. Hands down Embassy Suites was the best. Most comfortable bedding, bathroom facilities, and cleanliness. After booking the other two upscale lodges I was pleasantly surprised to end my trip with the Embassy Suites. I will definitely book again on future travels.

Booked a room for 5 but was only provided 3 towels. Requested 2 more towels and toothpaste via their text messaging system. They never showed up. The next morning I saw a text message from them at 1:32am (well over 1.5hrs after my request) asking if I still needed it. Too late.

Suites could use some amenities sych as cutlery, plates, bowls, and glasses as suites are often used for extended stays. I was having a sidebar situation when the girl behind the counter was switching out the eggs. I asked if she wanted me to wait for her to switch out the eggs or if she wanted us to serve ourselves the leftover eggs, and then she could change them out. She asked me, Why are you yelling at me? That’s a strange question, I wasn’t yelling at her, but she did invite herself into my emotions which were not directed to her. I explained, well I’ll tell you why I’m yelling, my adult son just had a bowel movement, and no one served themselves breakfast after I asked them to because we had to hurry up and leave that morning. Again, I can’t stress enough that my energy was not directed toward her, but if you choose to walk into a tornado, you can’t expect not to twirl in a couple of circles.

For the most part, we enjoyed our stay at Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Airport. Comfortable bed, clean large suite. However we were not informed ahead of time and were taken by surprise to find that we would be charged $20 per night parking. We didn't mind that rooms would be serviced only every three days. Aside from that, the included breakfast buffet is no different from any other hotel that includes breakfast, except that they do cook omelets to order if you have the time and don't mind standing in line for yours. We will definitely stay here again.

Excellent physical property; clean, good amenities, spacious rooms. It is disappointing that there is a $20/night charge for parking. Traffic noise, both road and airport were VERY noticeable. Front desk staff were a low point. They seemed distracted and fairly disinterested in what they were doing in general. They were also way LESS THAN HELPFUL (and insulting) when asked for a pizza delivery option for dinner, basically I was asked if I own an iPhone and I should download DoorDash! Pretty sad and insulting. Breakfast was quite good. EMBASSY SUITES: look into your front desk staffing at this otherwise excellent facility. They are doing you (and MORE IMPORTANTLY) the customer a disservice. UNACCEPTABLE. My wife and I spent 2 weeks on vacation in Oregon and had an excellent experience otherwise.

Property was clean and breakfast was fine (appreciate the buffet option at Embassy suites). Was surprised that no housekeeping took place at all during my 3 night stay. We go to portland atleast once a month. We are a big fan of hiltons. Overall hotel is wonderful for the free breakfast, very comfortable beds and spacious rooms but the weekend before last my boyfriend and i stayed there and the next morning i was looking all over for the ice machine and a housekeeper that clearly saw me looking for a ice machine(i had an ice chest on top of a cart), threw his hands up before i could ask where it was and said no no dont ask me, ice machine isnt up here. Very rude. Most of the time house keepers are rude and wont help and cant understand what im asking. Not happy with this last visit at all and honestly dont know if i want to go back there again because i am fed up of the rude unhelpful housekeepers

The pool was dirty, FILTER was not working, hairs everywhere and some kind of lotion/oil/grease was all over the pool. Front desk staff that checked us in late on Friday 8/29 was not friendly and could not seem to be bothered with questions.

My only suggestion is to hire another fantastic omelette maker. The guy you have on the weekends is great!!

Our room fit our needs well, but our room was never serviced. We came back to unmade beds and a full garbage can. We had to call to get fresh towels. For what we paid, the rooms should be at least refreshed every day.

Kids was running around in hotel and nobody stopped them, no security during the daytime. It was a warm in the room, air conditioner not strong enough to keep cool temperature in the room.

We stayed their for easy access to PBX. Their staff was polite and friendly. Very clean and they have a airport shuttle. We also enjoyed the Happy Hour and breakfast buffet. My grandson in particular liked the pool but it was a bit too cool for me:)

Amazing location. We really enjoyed the atrium, the room layout, the pool and the quality of the breakfast options. The one drawback was the small size of the double beds. Two queens seems more appropriate for this type of hotel.

The shuttle pickup was bad. 25 minutes waiting and then an airline crew preempted us so she said wait for the next shuttle. I called an Uber at my own expense

The only thing I’d recommend is that you get a new mattress for the couch bed. All you feel is the springs in it, no cushion at all. And the shower took forever to drain.

1. Embassy Suites previously did not charge for parking. They now charge $20 per night, but this was not clearly advertised, so it was a surprise charge at check in. 2. Embassy Suites had part of their parking lot partially closed off for replacing it a treatment of some sort. Part of the repaved area was open when I drove in to park around 7:00pm. I parked and a workman ran at my car and yelled at me to leave the area. He was dirty and not in a uniform, so I at first thought he was homeless and experiencing a mental break. My son was frightened due to his appearance and yelling. Once we realized he was a workman and that the area we parked was supposed to be closed off, we moved the car. It was a startling experience however. I believe the worker was a subcontractor and not a direct employee of the hotel, but is was definitely a negative experience that made me feel less safe on the premises.

The air conditioner couldn't get the room below ~72f during the night time, and because of this I barely slept. For comfortable sleep I need things to be around ~65f. Breakfasts were lovely, I like the custom omelet bar!

A very pretty hotel. Everything clean like new. A waterfall in the lobby and a nice bar and surprisingly good restaurant. One of the best airport hotels we ever stayed at. 5 minutes to the terminal on their shuttle which runs every 15 minutes.

Room was beautiful, enormous and clean--great set up! Bed was super comfortable, bathroom also large. While we were not there for more than a fast stop before a flight, it was more than enough and we will return next time we're in this area!
