I usually have pretty low expectations when visiting low-end motels, plus it normally doesn’t bother me. But this poor little motel... the staff are very nice and accommodating, but they really have their work cut out for them renovating that whole building. It looks and feels like a trap house.

I booked a ticket to find out later that it was doubled because of my pets. I cancelled immediately after booking and they wouldn’t refund my money. Staff was completely unprofessional.

The managers were rude and even sold my room before i even got there and i paid a reservation! The man answered the phone from a phone in the lobby. he said they didn't have any rooms for the night and i told him i had a reservation. he said check in was 2 and i told him its 3 am and i have a reservation. he told ne he sold all the rooms they sold out. so i asked did you sell my room? the lady grabbed the phone and yelled we don't have any rooms! then hung up! what's worse is when i walked in the lobby, there was a hobo sleeping on the lobby couch! the room is falling apart as you coming in. There is holes in the walls and a very loud club down a couple building down.

The hotel was very dirty and very dangerous. Sliding glass door locked from the outside, floor hadn't been vacuumed in a while, broken windshield, glass covered the parking lot, staff was in very dirty clothes. I could not stay more than 5 minutes.

In a run-down part of town. No locks on exterior doors and the lock on my room had been duct-taped back in place. No lock or latch on the sliding glass door to interior years. door secured with a stick. Room was not clean - carpet in terrible condition and smelly. Stains on the sofa. Very bad odor in the room and hall way. I didn't feel safe.

Worst hotel I have ever experienced!! This hotel looked nothing like the pictures. When we got to the room it was filthy smelled like mold and water came out brown when I turned on the sink. Ultimately my girlfriend and I ended up leaving to find another hotel to stay in.I am truly surprised that hotel sites even feature this hotel on their website. Do not stay here no matter good the price sounds you will regret it!

First, the receptionist was curt on the borderline of rude. Second, there were bird feathers, carpet stains and a poor smell on the way to room. All of which but the bird feathers continued into the room. Third, I killed seven cockroaches. Four in the bathroom and three in the room. If Val U Stay Inn had the last room available in Pueblo I would rather stay in Colorado Springs and commute. A complete rip off. The management must care nothing for the general condition of there facilities.

Upon initial inspection of our room we found the door locks had been exchanged for smaller ones. The holes had been packed with toilet paper and paper towels. The floor had a fresh layer of dead roaches. We were transferred to another room. The same layer of bugs was on the floor. There was only one towel and the lock on the sliding door didn't work. When I went to ask for another towel I was taken to the laundry room and shown that there were no more towels. I was told that the place was under new management. I hope that they will be able to make it better.

terrifying! the hotel.should be condemned. it's a crack and meth hotel for people living there. there was ashes in the sink in our room, by the bed on the floor, at least 50 mattresses stacked up outside with people ripping into them getting the spring out to scrap. drainage backed up when taking a shower. door was broken. the list goes on. I'm shocked I survived the night and are cars weren't stolen. but the a/c was super cold!

This is not a hotel. Its a dump shack. It was filthy dirty. Roof falling down, room was dirty, sheets were stained, killed 3 bugs. I ended up sleeping in the car. Do not stay here under any circumstances. This place should not be even showing up on search engines. Its creepy and disgusting. You have been warned.

I would say that this would be a good place for a quick stay or on short notice. The price was affordable. However I would suggest you bring all the essential toiletries including towels because they don't supply it. Which I wished I had known before hand. There is a balcony for those who do smoke which is nice. Trying to get a hold of the front desk to check in and out took a long time. Mainly because you can't find them. Overall this was not the best place to stay at, but it had some okay points.

Had the worst experience with hotel staff. Harassment. Profiling. The front desk hung up on me twice. By far the worst hotel I've ever been to and I've traveled the 3rd world. Never experienced such unprofessional and deceptive people in my life. Hotel was meager at best. Homeless people roaming the halls. Would ever recommend.

This hotel needs a lot of work on the exterior. The landscaping is very overgrown, there are abandoned cars and boats all over the property, and piles of old and broken furniture everywhere. The inside of the hotel is acceptable. My room was clean. All of the furniture was mismatched and looked like it had come from a salvage store. The hotel was quiet at night. It is a good price and conveniently located to downtown Pueblo. I don't regret staying there but probably won't go back.

This "hotel" is a permanent resident hotel. Destitute, and poverty-stricken. Charged more online than would have paid in local currency. No where to hang clothes, no fridge, no mic, no blow dryer- not that you'd want to shower here.

I will start off by saying the staff were super helpful, kind, and professional. The environment was rather rundown, many of the windows were boarded up in next door rooms, the doors to the interior hallways had no locks, or even door handles, cars in the parking lot looked like they never moved (bagged over windows). Did not feel like a place you would want to ever think about staying at if you had a family with you. Not the worst place if you don't have a lot of money, or debt heavy college student. Was worried that my car was going to be broken into, did not seem like a very safe neighborhood. The room was clean, comfy bed, the tv worked, so if that is what matter to you, not too terrible.

The hotel is run down looking and not maintained. Every room smells of smoke and they look like they were put together by a 3 year old. The staff is rude and unhelpful. They also stand by a rule of no refunds even though the living conditions represent poverty. The windows do not lock and have no screens. Anyone can just break into the room if they wanted. All hallways smell of urine and other odors. The hotel is right next to.the highway and has zero noise cancelling so you can hear all things outside and in nearby rooms. The price was not that appealing for the services offered. No breakfast but I wouldn't trust the cleanliness even if there was food.

Room: curtains had cigarette burns while barely attached to windows. Carpet: CIGARETTE burns, red stains. Walls: CIGARETTE BURNS AND STAINS. DOOR: DEADBOLT & LATCH WERE MISSING. BATHROOM: Old yellow stained shower curtain, stained towel, hair left on floor and toilet. Bathroom door couldn't close and had screws sticking out of hinges. If we weren't in need of accommodation we wouldn't have stayed. There was a no refund policy for our downgraded booking (two double beds for one queen ) not what we booked or payed for. We were exhausted so we kept our shoes on while in room, bathroom & shower. Used own blankets and looked thoroughly for bed bugs. Prayed we made it alive through the night and still had a car by morning. Left in morning and never looked back!

well here I go , last minute trip to a car show in pueblo , every thing was booked up or sold out, except value stay, had no other choice but to take a chance, and booked it. in my 37 years of vacations impromtu getaways, this is the 3rd dump I stay at, smelly room dirty carpet outdated the list goes on. Saturday came back to room, no bed made no clean towels , went to front desk to tell them they had missed our room ,now get this , she told me that they didn't provide that service, that you had to do it yourself, ok .later that night we were waken up by the police at 2.00 am questioning the person in the room next to ours. what a stay . well the car show was great. don't stay here.

This hotel was updated probably in the 80s and hasn't been touched since. It is VERY BEAT-UP and looked like a hotel rescue show. But the sheets appeared clean and the water pressure was very good and hot. The lady at the front desk was very nice despite being understaffed. Seriously thought this hotel was worn to death.
