You get what you pay for. The room was cheap, but the guy at the front desk had zero customer service skills. It took us a literal 30 minutes to get into the room after 3 trips back and forth with problems with the key, until he finally switched our room to another one. It was also dirty. The breakfast area had broken tables (like the marble tops were chipped enough you’d scrape your arm on them) and cracked leather seats, and the back of the booth next to us had stuff caked all over it. Lesson learned. Pay a little more for one of the other nearby hotels.

The hotel is quite clean but the furnishings are older, and the tubs and shower heads are quite worn, but we like the fact that there are 2 televisions in the suites and there's lots of room. Also, the hotel is handy to a lot of restaurants and if you forgot anything you can walk to the Walmart and get what you need. If you like to gamble the new casino is a 2 minute drive away.

I didn’t like the wet dirty towels laying out in the hallway piled up by residents doors. Shower not attached correctly. Cheap bathroom doors.

The staff was wonderful and very friendly. When walking in the entrance was clean. You are hit with a stronger than normal smell of cleaner which was a bit odd. Beyond the lobby, the hotel seems to be in the older side and does appear to require updating and repairs. By all means it was not straight up gross but it was not my level of liking (apparently I am bougie). Hallways smelled pretty “herbal” but that is not the hotels fault. Once in the room, it was clean but did not look like the photos shown when booking but quite a bit more aged. It was most certainly not my most favorite stay and a bit pricier for the quality of the hotel but it was convenient for having to make a last minute call for a family funeral. Just was not expected based on the what was shown when booking.

The hotel needs renovations and updates for sure! This used to be one of my top 3 properties to stay in the Rockford area, but it has declined significantly. The bath/shower was significantly damaged and the water was not consistently hot. The refrigerator was not staying cold, the microwave is outdated. The entire property needs an upgrade.

Con: No sheets for pull out couch, bed protector was stained, crumbs/old pink balloon in the bed when we first pulled it out-it had not been cleaned from the last use. Bathroom wall surround is stained and looked very dirty. Pool water left our skin feeling slimy, pool shower had no handle, had to turn bolt to turn on water. No bathrooms by pool. Could hear people walking/talking in the hallway through the door, poor soundproofing. Lights coming through crack from the door/keyhole/light switches.

Food smelled fresh, but I had no time to eat as I had to get to work. Parking was safe. I was able to park close to the front door and under a light. Staff was great. I called the front desk kind of late to complain about kids running up and down the hallway and slamming doors on 2 & 3 and it was handled. Room was very clean and I was impressed it was cleaned between my 2 night stay. Bedding was very comfortable.

This property desperately needs updating. Lobby is dirty. Had 3 rooms booked, all varying degrees of updates needed and repairs needed. Smoke smell. Not recommend unless desparate.

I did not use the gym nor laundry service. Wash cloths and towels were full and dingy looking. Sheets had dingy spots and in some areas the sheets were just worn out. I requested more sheets and changed my first night. I had to request a complete thorough cleaning for that room. Receptionist and manager were very nice. They understood my complaints and made sure my issues were completed in a timely manner.

Every single day we were there, our key cards demagnetized by and we had to have them redone to even get into the building and our room. Then we were moved to a new room, under the bathtub mat in the shower, was FULL of mold and the toilet kept clogging to a point of needing a plunger. The hallways consistently smelled of weed as well. On our check out day- NO ONE was at the desk to check us out almost making us late to catch the plane. We called many times to get ahold of the staff, and come to do so it the person that was passed out in the lobby chair was the front desk staff. This experience was awful and realistically we should be reimbursed at a minimum half our whole stay.

TV remote didn’t work, “I am not maintenance, they’ll fix it tomorrow “ Room was ice cold, set at 72, blowing cold air, temperature was 60. It was set at AC and wouldn’t change. “ maintenance can check it in the morning” Tub floor was sinking in the middle. Didn’t ask, sure it’s a maintenance thing for another day

Very noisy all night

Second, the elevator was not operating during our entire stay. I would like a partial refund for this significant issue. When I agreed to pay for the room, this issue was not identified. Being unable to easily climb stairs, this was an issue. I was not offered a room on the ground floor.

Gave no discount. Arrived and was told elevator was broke. They had no rooms on first floor, as we are seniors and cant carry luggage to 2nd. Floor. My sister had broken wrist in cast. Couldnt cancel, because we booked with Expedia! Staff was nice, breakfast should be till 10 on weekdays!

Had to request different room the pull out bed was covered in blood stains. The new room appeared cleaner (still dirty) requested extra sheets to cover the couch because it wasn’t something I wanted to sit on.

Tv guide listed local stations yet you could not get them. We called down to the desk. They said no we don't have them on our plans so I'm like why do you offer a TV guide in the room showing the local prime Time stations if you can't get them very unhappy about that.

Checkout is at 11. By 8 am staff were knocking on our door, trying to let themselves in to clean. Never said “house keeping” , didn’t even knock twice. After we let them know we weren’t ready, they stood outside our door. So we felt rushed to hurry and leave at that point.

Second time in Room 105. It must be the designated pet room. The bathroom is old and out of date. The sink needs a stopper. Room smells damp. Cooling/heating is noisy, sounds like a jet engine. Something wrong with the door. You have to lift the door up to get in. It was this way about a year ago. Too busy to fix?The public areas of the hotel are fine. This room is awful. Going back and forth from MN to FL, twice a year, we’ll stay at 8 LaQuinta hotels. Room #105 Rockford, by far, is the worst. We won’t stay there again.

I had a lot of trouble with the door lock to my room. I had to go to another floor for ice. The shower was a little moldy.

Complete darkness is a playground for trip and fall, theft. assault and more. If I had time, I would have called Rockford Police to stop by and monitor the property. La Quinta failed me completely on my safety.

The 2nd room we went to there were questionable stains on the couch there was someones hair all over the sheets, hair around the base of the toilet, and s*** stains on the toilet rim this place is a nightmare

Easy check in, rooms were humid and floors felt damp. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious. Some of the in room furniture was outdated and seemed unnecessary.

Very clean spot to stay. Ridiculous that 15 year olds need an adult to go into a 5 foot pool without an adult. Also, the sofa bed in our room blocked the door from opening in case of a fire. The staff was absolutely amazing though

Hotel was old and run down. We had to initial agreeing to not party or leave children unattended. Staff was friendly.

The night time staff didn’t have the correct information about checking in and paying with a third party, thankfully the lady in the am was much more knowledgeable. Hotel it self has no Ac or maybe broken but was so uncomfortably hot in there. It took the room ac to cool off the room for ever. But I guess it did work eventually. The beds are terribly hard and stuff. If that’s your jam then I mean go there for a rock hard bed. Bathroom was so stained and out dated. Room also had a smell to it like wet dog. Breakfast wasn’t anything special basic. If your use to staying at other la Quinta don’t stay here you will be disappointed as I was.

Breakfast had variety of food choices. However, my credit card was charged $178 at check out when the room was prepaid through Affirm.

The beds aren’t comfortable. Shower curtain was dirty. Shower rod was loose. I believe I was next to a smoking room so my room smelled very stale.

Most places to stay at people are really nice. I definitely would stay here again.

The front desk clerk was VERY unprofessional. The AC in the room didn’t work. Please if you are traveling with your pet check the hotel because this hotel does not except pet over 50 pounds and the front desk clerk was not remotely nice in telling me that fact.

Room had a terrible odor. They tried to camouflage the smell, but then it was just strong deoderizer smell on top of odors.

Wasn’t very clean and the room had a musty smell to it. The sink was full of dirt and had carrots stuck in the drain. Room creaked all night.

The pet friendly rooms need to be updated. The room we were staying in had a strong smell of urine. The staff were very understanding and accommodating with the issue and even had a can opener we were able to borrow since we forgot ours.

I think this place is good. But have a rare smell like smoking in the room. I supposed to be fun and the people in there only want slepp and will be oru room speaking and call us we are jelling.

Clean & safe place at a fair price. A friend who stayed there said he was concerned about the checklist they required is to sign. It basically was a list of things you would have to agree not to do or risk being kicked out with possibly the police involved (drugs, parties, guns, being noisy,etc.). While I agree it's telling of what the area can sometimes be up against, there's nothing you can do of you need to stay on the area. I'm just glad that unlike some of the other hotels, this place will kick out the riff raff. It makes me want to stay there knowing they won't let obnoxious people ruin my stay.

We stay at a lot of La Quinta’s and every once in a while we get one that leaves us thinking that maybe we are done with them. This one had great curb appeal and was “mostly” clean but very run down and in need of a renovation. I’m not sure that any one from upper management has seen this property for quite sometime as it really doesn’t fit the brand quality anymore.

Generator had no gas. I am handicap and was placed in a room on the 4th floor but could not get to my room due to the outage. I’m just thankful i wasn’t up there when the power went out. During this time the staff was rude and not helpful.

It was a nice hotel for the price. We lost power for about 5hours due to storms, but the staff kept us updated as possible. Have stayed at this hotel twice now with no concerns to book again.

When we checked in the lady gave us our keys for our room on the third floor. We took our luggage upstairs to check into our room and we couldn’t open the door. The key made a green light on the door but the door wouldn’t open. Went down to the front desk and the attendant was gone. Waited for 25 mins. Had to call the hotel to get her attention. All while my family waited in the hallway. Apparently the door handle had to be turned upwards instead of down and she failed to tell us that when we checked in.

Hotel staff were very courteous friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean. Beds were very soft with nice linens.

I will say the man behind the desk was very kind. He even offered to get a room for me at another hotel out of his own pocket. To which I declined, as it was not his personal obligation to take care of me out of his own pocket.

The pet policy is a big plus for us.

I arrived at 1:00 in the morning after a very long drive, the front desk was incredibly nice and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Location was great, a lot of shopping and dining options VERY close. The only dislike I had was that the bathroom lights were on a sensor, so when I stumbled in the first time in the middle of the night, it clicked on and I almost broke a hip trying to hurriedly close the door as to not wake up my child. LOL

When the companys sends me down to Rockford for work. This is a convenient place to stay. Always clean and no issues. About six miles from the job. May dinning and drinking options nearby

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice rooms. Beds were very comfortable. AC/thermostats were new and functioned perfectly. Good breakfasts, and a nice lobby/eating area with tables and booths.

Don't expect to check-in even 45 minutes early. I asked if I could check-in early as I arrived earlier than expected. The staff person pointed at the sign that check-in was 3 pm and told me with a short voice that I couldn't check in.

The location was convenient but other than that it was very average for the price. The staff with the exception of the gentleman that checked me in didn’t speak English & they weren’t very friendly and even started emptying the breakfast before everyone was done eating & poured pitchers of orange juice and milk down the drain. Not to mention it wasn’t the cleanest. I definitely won’t stay here again.

Huge fight broke out husban and wife woke me up at 330 AM. Cops were still there in the morning crazy night not much sleep for me.

This propert is easy to find and get to for easy parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and the bed was comfortable. The room is a bit dated so not upgraded as the Ad mentions.

Noise was horrible, people running in the halls, doors slamming and smoking all over the property. Parents were partying and leaving babies in the rooms to cry all night as they were outside or downstairs. Noise went on until about 2 am.

I booked via Expedia, whom I paid up front. Laquinta charged me 2 times as well. So I paid 3 times. They then removed 1 charge, then Expedia had to refund me as well. This took a few days. The front desk lady should learn how to smile. They didn’t have enough small towels for my party of 6. The toilet kept plugging up. The tv did not work. They did offer to switch rooms because tv was broke, but after a day of traveling and moving 6 people out of a room that we already unpacked, seemed exhausting .They wouldn’t bring out more waffle mix for 4 teenagers I had with me. I am thinking because it was 7:45 am and breakfast was almost done? The waffle machine is in an horrible location. People have to wait 2-3 minutes just to get to the eggs and sausage. And 1 of the boys left their Yeezy slides in the room after we checked out. I called to ask if they had them and they said no. The pull out bed’s mattress was moldy. The pull out bed would not close, and was directly in front of the room door to get in and out. I know things are not perfect in life, but this was not acceptable.

It was a nice hotel. Just needs to be updated honestly. Quiet and comfortable. Updated in like furnishings in the room.
