The hotel is outdated and far too expensive for what it has to offer

Overall, a good experience except for the added fees no one tells you about. Arrived an hour early and they asked for $30 early check in. We declined and went out to eat instead. Also, paid $125 for hotel fees though i had prepaid my stay online.

It was easily accessible from the airport and the shuttle was convenient. The store and free coffee in the lobby was nice and I appreciated the daily credit. Getting to and from the city was a bit inconvenient. That is not the hotels fault just be aware that getting to downtown Chicago is difficult.

The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on in years! Traveling with my sister and having separate species for the beds without paying for two rooms was amazing! Super high pet fee! We had a kitten that was a week old and being bottle fed. They still charged $150 nonrefundable for him.

The staff were very helpful and multilingual. Housekeeping staff was hardworking. All staff members were very kind. The property is older but well maintained . The shuttle to and from the airport was a nice added bonus.

The most uncomfortable pillows in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in across the world! Sooooo lumpy! And someone set the radio alarm for midnight and woke me up. I was very pissed off.

Good location when using O'Hare airport and on the 8th floor the traffic noise was much quieter than other nearby hotels. Good breakfast selection but has to be paid for extra. Nothing obvious comes to mind

Room was clean and well kept, although a little outdated. Bathrooms could have been in better shape but more than good enough. The employees were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The location was convenient for airport travel however battling traffic into the city was frustrating. If you’re wanting to be more downtown oriented then this hotel isn’t a great option. Overall it was a great stay and would stay here again given the choice.

Very convenient for Airport and Car Rental Centre. Walking distance to Car Rental. Good, large and comfortable rooms. Reasonable breakfast. Good pricing for the convenient location. Nothing really not to like, it’s not luxury but it’s clean and comfortable with everything you need and well priced for a one night stop - over. Would happily return.

This hotel is perfect if you are planning to return a rental car and fly out the next day. The location is walkable (if you are able) to the rental car facility. The staff was friendly. There is a nice restaurant in the hotel and the shuttle runs every 30 minutes. The rooms are nothing special, but they are clean and meet basic needs.

Convenient location with free shuttle to terminals. Our room really needed a refresh. Molding all broken and peelint off, lamp shades ripped and there was a handicapped seat in the bathroom which was not clean. We removed it and put it in the corner. The bathroom was clean otherwise. Convenient to have the restaurant on site.

Hotel was fine, we had booked a room with bathroom mobility access, but didn’t appreciate the beds are so high, we asked in reception if there were any alternative beds, but it seems all beds are the same. In the end my brother who uses a wheelchair had to sleep in his chair as the bed was far too high to access. It’s the first time I travelled in the US with a wheelchair user so will be more aware to check this next visit.

The hotel is good- the rooms are spacious, very clean. No breakfast is offered, but available at Harry Carey’s downstairs or Panera across the street. There is a laundry available. Fridge and microwave in the room.

The Sonesta is a good choice when you have a flight from O'Hare the next day. They provide a free shuttle, which is good. We arrived at 2:30 to find that check-in time was 4:00 unless you pay a fee of $35.00. If rooms are available, they should allow early check-in for free. The bed in our room could use replacement - it was very soft, and we rolled to the middle. The rooms are comfortable, and we will likely stay here again.

The properly is conveniently located near the airport and the rooms was spacious enough.

I arrived around 11PM the waited for a shuttle for 30 min. then decided to take an airport train and walk a to the hotel. After a long flight from Europe it was very inconvenient.

The adjoining restaurant has fantastic options for both breakfast and dinner. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The room was pristine and the hotel itself was in a wonderfully walkable area!

I think the issue that I’m having, is the parking fee. I’m staying over night, it’s an additional $26 per night, and I had a discount for parking that wasn’t applied. Now that I know this, it’s doubtful I’ll stay at this hotel if I have concerts in that area. Parking plus a resort fee of $20 per night made each night an extra $46, so an additional $92.

Wonderful location to airport. Shuttle from airport to hotel. Then a five minute walk to the car rental helps us save a day of car rental fees.

No one told us that for breakfast you needed a voucher so I don't know how breakfast taste. The room was nice, the bed was comfy, kinda makes no sense to have it look like a two bedroom and you can close off the door if there is only one bathroom. The 2nd night in, the heater broke and only cold air was coming out. It was too cold and it was supposed to rain the next day and no working heater. I had to wait till the next morning for maintenance to come, called at late 8am, waited an hour, called again, it was a different person on the phone and it sounded like no one was informed that maintenance was supposed to come up, finally maintenance came and brought a space heater. It's very disappointing to pay all that money for the main thing that is needed on a cold day in Chicago to not work.

Room smelled

Shuttle was on time both ways. We walked to a fast food place for supper. Room was a suite like with a bedroom off the main bedroom. Price was comparable to area hotels.

We arrived late at night, 11 pm, after flying from Bogota. We were exhausted and just went to sleep. The bed was so comfy. In the morning, we hoped to have breakfast, but the restaurant was closed for some reason. It was convenient that the hotel was so close to rental cars.

Rooms were clean, the shower pressure was very good, overall had a pleasant stay.

The 2 room hotel room concept room is awesome but the hotel In general looks tired.

Check in was quick and easy, and the front desk staff was very pleasant. One thing I appreciated in the room was that there were plenty of towels. Some hotels have started adopting the philosophy of having as few towels as possible. Instead, the Sonesta had at least one extra of every towel type. There was even a special face towel by the sink.

The stay was okay overall, but I was disappointed that there was no water available in the room. Guests need to request it from the front desk, which is inconvenient. At $180 per night, I would expect this basic amenity to be included. Small details like this can strongly affect the overall guest experience.

Front desk young lady that checked me in last night was very nice. Room overall good. Hotel could use a refresh.

The room smelled very stale the lamps did not work, there was no receiver to the phone, only the base and none of the USB ports worked on the clocks. They were sticky to touch as if these rooms have not been cleaned properly for months. This was awful!

There were 3 fire alarms that were caused by broken pipes and water leaks. Staff did not communicate when clear to return to our room. Not even an apology.

My son and his friends stayed here while attending Midwest Fur Fest at the Convention Center. The hotel seemed very accommodating to the furry crowd. They even used special MFF room keys for the event. It was conveniently located to the convention center. My son and his friends said they would stay there again.

Third time staying at this location. Previous 2 times very pleased in all reespcts. This time beds were somewhat worn out. Fridge did not get cold and dog barking persistently for several hrs late at night? Like i said previous stays have been good but this one was a miss

When I checked in I was told that I have received a credit of $5 towards something from the market. So I got a chocolate bar. When I just checked my invoice I noticed that I got charged the $5. Not impressed with such dishonest practices.

I was able the make a last minute reservation to be close to the airport the night before an important flight---hotel far exceeded expectations, clean, modern, with attentive, friendly staff and a lovely restaurant.

Think airport hotel more than Sonesta. This is a good hotel option if you need airport convenience, and has a good shuttle and Harry Caray restaurant, but not the usual Sonesta opulence.

This hotel is extremely dated and needs updates. The carpet is filthy and smells of mildew everywhere. The inside of the rooms the curtains are stained yellow. I didnt trust to sit in my chair. And the sheets were questionable. The bathtub doesnt drain. Also the bathrooms are not properly clean, disgusting

Upon arrival, our plane had been delayed for six hours. The staff checked us in immediately and offered us water, which we were in desperate need of. I really appreciated the coffee machine which had many options to choose from and was high-quality. Our room was spotless And every time I ran into a housekeeping person in the hallway they were friendly and kind. The quick check-in allowed us to attend the function that we were late for.

When I started getting ready for bed, I found the sink so be filled with hair. Then I went to get into bed and there were 5 or 6 different hairs in the very clearly slept on sheets (wrinkled and sweat stained) in the MADE bed. I was furious. I called down to the desk to ask for an immediate switch. They told me the system was down and they had no clue which rooms were available. They also told me housekeeping was gone and they’d try to find new sheets. After several minutes, the front desk manager appeared with a stack of sheets and attempted to hand them to ME to change. I told him that was completely out of line to require a guest to change the dirty bedding of a prior guest. He tried to negotiate and say he would change the dirty ones if I made the bed. I refused. He then had me and my limping dog exit the room to wait in the hall for 15 mins while he “made the bed.” When we re-entered, I found that he left me with a mattress protector, no fitted sheet, a flat sheet, no duvet cover, and the same pillow cases from before. My experience coincides 100% with the info provided by both the hotel and Expedia. There were no hidden fees or surprises during check-in and checkout. This is a very convenient location for an early flight. The rooms are well appointed though dated but still very accommodating and comfortable. Good water pressure and hot water. Noise can be a bit of an issue on the side facing the airport but I still slept enough.

If you’re looking for an immaculate, yet pet friendly stay, this is the hotel for you. The restaurant/bar was delicious and the staff was super welcoming and professional. The room was really nice and the beds were big, comfy and most of all CLEAN!

Thanks to the airport shuttle bus, I was able to reach O’Hare Airport Terminal 5 comfortably and without any hassle.

Towels were not in the room when we arrived, the old sheets were not pulled off the pull out bed and they had to change our room because a “dog urinated” on the carpet. The keys didn’t work to get the elevator to work. The air conditioner did not keep the room cool and the carpet was stained in the room. I would not recommend this hotel.

Having to pay $26 per night to park was insane. But other than that it’s not a bad place.

So much water damage in the room… paint pealing off the wall. Just a basic room at a high end airport rate.

The room was oldish; the toilet would not flush correctly, the TV would not play one evening, the tub was disgusting, and the free coffee was not very good.

Decent airport hotel with a good location near the car rental center. They charge an annoying resort fee for no reason other than to increase the room rate. That is annoying enough at a destination resort but is especially out of place at an airport hotel. Someone also opened my door at 8 AM on a Sunday morning but then went away quickly when I said “hello?”

Unplanned overnight stay due to O’Hare flight issues.

My only issue was the parking pass for the car was not included with the room .. it was a surprise to me and an unexpected expense. Seemed a bit silly .. to charge so much for a pass, everyday .. seemed thuggish. The staff seemed embarrassed to have to enforce the thing .. The staff was very professional and the property was well kept. Dragan was very helpful and a pleasant employee. The Kitchen crew were like an All-Star Cubs team .. and the maintenance was first rate. But that parking pass thing .. I will very much consider staying with you again, next year. Just being honest here guys ..

We really enjoyed being so close to the airport. We were able to return our rental car and walk two blocks back to the hotel.

First time I stay at this hotel, and it was a last minute thing, I tried finding something affordable and pet friendly. I’m glad I found it, it was very clean and staff very friendly, quiet and comfortable.

The hotel in general but specially the rooms were smelly (old and humid). The A/C was so noisy that it had to be shut down to sleep. Being an hotel for usually short stays, you would like some quality fair priced restauarant. The one there cloeses at 10 is over priced by far, dishes are offered that are not in the menu, therfore not priced. I refused to be tricked in there. At the lobby you are asked if you want water, to be given the smalles bottles you can imagine (almost water shots), as many as you want of course (eco friendly?). Worse parte, I came from Sonesta downtown were I spent a couple of days and the experience was similar, maybe worse.

It was very clean and comfortable, which I expect in a hotel but don't always get. I appreciated the free airport shuttle but the ride was very bumpy, which seemed to both the state of the van and the road condition.

Got stuck at O'Hare when our flight was canceled. Stayed at the Sonesta for the night till we returned to airport. We had no luggage. They provided us with toothbrushes. toothpaste, razor and shaving cream. Definitely helped to make an awful night much better. Didn't get the name of the young man that took care of us at 11:45pm, but he was wonderful!

Investor friendly staff, very clean and rooms nicely appointed. Incredibly comfortable beds!
