Best Western Plus Orchid Hotel & Suites

The room unfortunately was right next to the pool and the walls are extremely thin so it was incredibly hard to sleep. I also woke up with several bug bites all over my legs, I’m seriously hoping I didn’t just spend the night with bedbugs. Gross.

Very good facility. I recommend a room away from the pool area for a quite experience. Large breakfast room. Friendly staff. Easy access to Highway 80. Water slide park and golfland nearby

The staff was nice it was conveniently close to everything. They start serving breakfast at 9am so get up early to grab something. The hotel was clean and overall great stay.

Absolutely enjoyed the jetted tub in the hotel room. We'll be back.

Good location

Room and furniture in the room are clean and fairly comfortable but I do have issue with the TV. Basically they offer the free Samsung channels that are included with all Samsung TV`s and nothing else, no current sports, movies, basic cable channels or access to any apps. Would have been real nice to be able to watch current televised events, pathetic !

Not good at all. My family said it’s more like one of those motels shown in Hollywood movies. Smells terrible, rooms were okay. Amenities weren’t great. The people around made it feel they were stepping into a cheap motel with eyes staring at you all the time. Many guests made them feel uncomfortable to say the least. Would not recommend for families at all. Made a mistake looking at the ratings.

This hotel smelt like marijuana, none of our lights worked in the room, they shut the pool an hour early, our dresser in our room was so broken the drawers were stuck open and took up a ton of space. And to top it off they allowed homeless people to camp in the parking lot and we woke up to them surrounding our car trying to wash it. Horrible experience! Would never recommend.

Staff was very pleasant, location great for a place to crash on a long trip with proximity to the freeway, room was quiet and well accommodated and parking plentiful. Only complaint is poor shower drainage and knocking pipes when shower used upstairs.

A small indoor gym would be a nice addition but the swimming pool and hot tub were great.

A bit shady in parking lot people tailgate drinking maybe security but we did feel safe and overall good stay.

Got a room with a jacuzzi tub in room just for the jacuzzi. It did not work at all. Called front desk for ice and was told that they would not bring me ice when all I asked was if there was ice on site. After looking for the ice machine get to it, no ice. Horrible service.

Great value for the price. But. . . . we were put in a room next to an elevator which was not working and a stairway under construction. The hotel was not full - so this was not needed. Property is dated - but being worked on. Staff was for the most part great.

I stayed 3 nights and had to switch rooms on my 2nd night, the 2nd room had know shampoo and the sliding door was broken and the fridge door was also broken.. its been a week and a half and I still haven't got my two deposit back yet? There was a car that was broken into right bye my car so always lock up your vehicle!

Breakfast was good! Staff are friendly…the reason why I gave such low rating was because once we entered the room, we saw a lizard and a cockroach in the bathroom. All night we had noisy upstairs neighbors, the walls are so thin you can hear everyone around you and walking by. I wouldn’t book here again…after hours of driving it’s not what you want to be dealing with.

The room was clean and average. The breakfast was great! Lots of hot and cold foods to choose from. The TV in my room was basically useless. Not connected to any cable service, only weird Samsung stuff.

The woman at the front desk was rude and had attitude towards my daughter and another woman, I believe, because they were black. Kept threatening to remove from lobby, that they were harassing her and it was all being taped.

Picked this hotel because I wanted to enjoy a hot tub. The hot tub was closed for unknown reason the first two nights; no explanation provided when I asked. The third night it was opened with two noisy kids in it. The kids continued their noise in the pool until close to 9pm even though the hours said it closed at 8pm. When we called the front desk we were told there was nothing they could do…Really? Why post hours and not enforce them? Air conditioning unit was extremely noisy. It’s a shame there is only one elevator in this large complex. We had to park in the back, use the elevator and then walk all the way to the front to get to our room.

Office chair was broken in the room and shower did not drain. When I notified the staff, they kind of smiled and shrugged their shoulders and that was it.

I completely regret booking this “hotel” for my weekend trip with my children. The building is extremely run down and dingy, our hotel room was infested with ants, and our key card repeatedly stopped working. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The beds were comfortable at least. Would definitely not stay here again.

The staff greeted us with a smile, the rooms are basic, but clean and all you needed for a good night's sleep. The only complaint, and it's minor was the pocket door dividing the bathroom from the main room, it was hard to close all the way for privacy while using the bathroom. Breakfast was great, everything was fresh. We would stay here again.

The property did not seem to rate the BW Plus designation. The room was clean. Security was good in terms of key card entry.

I’m on a fence with this review. The place is very clean but dated. The staff is not accommodating for early check in but we’re better at later check out. The breakfast has quantity but okay quality. I would give this place a grade of C+.

Appreciated the additional blankets but breakfast options were almost all gone/ looked stale. Also tried to do a late check out which was denied. I noticed the tub wouldn’t drain either during showers so assuming it was clogged probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The check in was easy and quick. I wish they had told me my phone would deprogram my card key. It's been a long time since I have had a key card do that. So I had to walk back to the front desk to get my key card reprogrammed. The room was made up nicely every day by housekeeping, that I was there. Everything seemed in order. The heater and AC worked properly. I did notice that the curtains either need to be washed or replaced do to have smudges on them. My mini frig. worked properly and the ice box was working so I was able to use it for my ice packs. The microwave worked well. I did not use the Keurig coffee maker in the room. The daily breakfast was not fancy but it was good. At night the area was quiet. I slept well. I would have given the hotel 5 stars but no one fixed the leak from my tub faucet or gave me an update as to when someone would come and take care of it. I did call twice on the day I checked in to let them know and if anyone was coming to fix it. The response was the repair people are busy. I also explained to the front desk that it was not just a drip type of leak but more like a steady stream of water leak. It was like that during my whole stay. Having fixed my faucet at home in the past all it needed was a new cartridge. I hated seeing all that water being wasted. I did notify the front desk again when I checked out. I hope they fix it before they have someone else use the room.

Cons: Only 2 of 13 electrical outlets in the room worked reliably, and they were in the bathroom, the exhaust fan in the bathroom was incredibly loud, the sliding pocket door to the bathroom was so heavy and stiff that you couldn't close it completely, or you couldn't get it open again, the WIFI was dial-up speed slow and the TV seemed to be operating on the sam, the WIFI, the TV would play for a few seconds and the buffer for about 10-20 seconds before it wouild play again for a few seconds, the walkway outside the room is plywood and youi gould hear every step and rolling luggage or cart at all hours, etc., etc., etc.

When I went through the rear door, there was NO signage indicating the location of the elevator! Myself and other guests were walking up and down corridors looking for the elevator. One guest I came across said she found an elevator near the front of the hotel, but it was out of service. No one at the front desk mentioned this fact and were providing minimal information to the guests. Once we did find the elevator, it was very small and tucked away in a back corner. My room BTW was nowhere near the elevator. I felt bad for elderly guests with mobility issues that were placed in rooms at the front of the hotel on the upper floors. As I was in my room on the 3rd floor, the entire room shook as people were moving around on the veranda of the 2nd & 3rd floors. As people maneuvered hotel luggage carts and or suitcases around on the verandas it felt as if the hotel might collapse at any minute. I believe the structural integrity of the building needs to be evaluated before a catastrophic event occurs. As for the Bar/Lounge, I wouldn't waste my time! The breakfast area had many selections; however, the kids took over the waffle stations. The eggs reminded me of military field rations (if you know you know) aka powdered eggs. You can be Guaranteed one thing! I will never stay at this property EVER again!

We all loved this property! Staff was great. Everything was clean. Hot breakfast is always an added bonus. The beds were comfy. The only issue we had was the pull out sofa bed was horribly uncomfortable. Otherwise everything was great! Kids were bummed to leave.

It was very closely located to the Roebellen Center, Dutch bros, Taco Bell, etc. Room was clean and quiet. The covers on the bed were very thin, but the bed wasn’t uncomfortable. The shower was very hot and the water pressure was amazing…. But the toilet was awful. The water flushed very slow and clogs super easy. Our door wouldn’t unlock with either of our keys, however they worked at all the entrance doors with no issue. Many homeless hanging out in the parking lot, walked out at 6 am to someone sleeping in front of our car in a bush. Also the breakfast was one of the best we’ve had for a hotel breakfast buffet. But the workers were not very friendly, someone got yelled at like they were a child bc they stopped to put their condiments on their food at the end of the counter. The front desk is hit or miss, one was friendly and one was not. I also thought it was strange on how stingy they were with towels. We had 3 ppl in our room and we only had 2 towels to share (gross) After our first night I asked for more towels and the front desk acted annoyed and said “i can only give you 2.” Oh and the room is lacking of outlets or plugs to charge devices. The plugs on the lamps were old and the charges wouldn’t even work on them. I had to unplug the all the lamps and radio in order for us to charge our phones. Overall it’s not bad, but definitely outdated.

It is an older hotel but rooms are reasonably updated. Breakfast is pretty typical hotel breakfast with hot eggs, potatoes, sausage type stuff and other food choices. Very close to the mall and other activities

Family of five with 3 teens! The sofa bed was nice to have as we didn’t need 2 rooms. Breakfast was good, large area to eat that accommodates a crowd, host was keeping things stocked. Pool was cold but refreshing on a hot day and long car ride. Didn’t use hot tub (too busy) but looked clean like pool. Outside Lounge are was fantastic and relaxing along with the lounge! Definitely would stay again

The hot tub didnt work in my room the microwave was broken, shower door off its track when we got there. We had to wait hour for check in because room wasn't ready.

Staff was welcoming and upgraded me because the elevator was broke in the building I was supposed to be in and with recent shoulder surgery I could not carry my luggage up stairs. So she moved me to the executive section where the elevator was still working.

Room had ants, which was resolved but toilet was clogged the entire stay, and everyday the maintenance guy would have to come to unclog slightly enough to flush it about two times. Also, the hot water would run out since hotel was mostly full. When I called the front desk I was told I would just have to wait till other people weren't taking showers also.

Breakfast have hot food like sausage and scrambled eggs. There are three waffle makers. Staff were attentive if food are getting low. There are plenty of tables and chairs.

Room/bed were comfortable and quiet. We need handicap services, ie elevator, so that only one was working and far from our room was a big inconvenience. We had our own breakfast so can’t comment there!

The only small disappointment was the gym that is called a “fitness center” that gives you an impression of something big - but it is just a small room with a treadmill, bike and one machine - no dumbbells or weights of any sort and barely room for 2 in the whole fitness center :) but again, considering the price - nothing more to ask for. Plus, there is a hot tub I’d need to check out next time.

I recommend new mattresses as we didn't get much sleep because it was too hard. We couldn't really get comfortable. The air conditioning unit worked, but was a little noisy. Overall, our stay was okay, but I'm not sure if I'd come back.

Unsafe area and bad security on property. Car vandalized and tires flattened. It was raining and none of the overheads actually keep the rain out. Heater leaked water and the floor was wet. Very noisy, both from other rooms and the busy street outside.

We usually enjoyour stays at the Best Western Orchid Suites. The breakfast is amazing, easily a $50 breakfast for 2 anywhere else. We always get a room with a jetted tub. This time I reserved the King suite, which does have a jetted tub; but come to find out, it's not in the room like the other jetted tubs are as it is a shower/tub combination. It was half the size of the other tubs so it couldn't accommodate the two of us, which is the main reason we stay here. The tub is mounted on top of the tile, so while taking a shower, the water continuously pours out onto the tile and down onto the floor. There's is no way around it, by the time you are done, it will take every single towell you were given, which isn't any more than the regular rooms, even though you have a jetted tub, to soak it all up. This also makes it extremely dangerous to get out of, as it is a tall tub in the first place. The carpet of the room was freighed all over the place with super long hanging threads stretched out on top of it. When we got back to after Christmas shopping we had put all of newly purchased items on the coffee table, along with with a couple of cocktails. And when I attempted to move the coffee table, the large, heavy glass top along with everything on top of it, flew right off of it's base and onto the floor, soaking all of our newly purchased items. It was missing all 4 of the rubber grips that hold it. Super dangerous. The bed was also hard as a rovk. Don't waste your money on the sui

Hotel rooms are very dated. When we got into the room, it was very cold. The blankets were just thin fleece. Since the layout of the room is divided, and there is only a heater under the window, one side of the room eventually got warm, while other side stayed cold.

Though there was limited staff when we checked in late and it took a while to get our keys, we were pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and the breakfast options. There was a bit of a walk to our room and it was tricky to find parking in the front, but overall I would stay here again.

Nice hotel! Undergoing renovation so some interference with getting to the room. The room was nice and well done! The bathroom was outdated but water pressure was high & hot. Toilet is too small, needs update. Shower curtain too short, drenched bathroom floor. Rest of the room was nicely done. Bed was luxurious with beautiful covers & lots of pillows. Complimentary breakfast was hot& fresh, no skimping.

We love to stay here. It is the only hotel in the area that offers rooms with a jacuzzi tub inside of the room. However, there are only 4 of them and they are always booked in advance on the weekends, but you may get lucky to land one during the week, if it is a spur of the moment trip. My only recommendation is do not get the one that is on the bottom floor. The staff’s wash area is just on the other side of the wall, so there are carts and parts clanking first thing in the morning. It can get a bit loud. But I know they are just doing their job. All of the staff was very friendly. And the breakfast is probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. They offer such a variety of breakfast favorites, and it’s all good. And the woman that does the breakfast setup and cleaning is super friendly and helpful too. They also have a small laundry facility that was reasonably priced, so cheap in fact, that I don’t see why they charge at all. Especially after I just forked over $140 a night for 3 nights. Our laundry came out nice and clean. I definitely recommend staying here. We will be back again and again. Thanks Best Western Orchid Suites. See you next time!

I would have appreciated an extra staff member at the front desk on Friday night, as the hotel was fully booked the weekend we visited. Otherwise, everything was fine.

The first room they put us in was damp and smelly. They changed our room without any question and the second one was better but the sheets were damp and I couldn't get comfortable. It was conveniently located for our needs but unless you have business in that area it's not the greatest location. People were partying in the back of their trucks late at night. The breakfast was fine and the staff were fine but it just wasn't enjoyable.

We were in the area for a few days. This property is getting updated now. Even with painting, the staff was terrific the rooms are quite sizable. The pool and hot tub were very refreshing. Breakfast was great, really we had been in 4 other hotels through this trip. Breakfast here was great! Super convenient.

Carol was so lovely. She assisted us in checking-in and out. She provided excellent customer service and even helped me in a bind with booking. She made our stay more comfortable and welcoming.

There were a few minor issues - parking was not easily accessible, our room phone didn’t work, the pool area was dusty from the trees (maybe a power wash or spray on chairs in the morning). My kids loved swimming in the pool, free breakfast, we utilized the gym, at night it was quiet so we all slept good, pool Bathrooms were nice, easy access to pool towels, our room was clean and overall a great experience. The rooms are very clean. Staff is very nice and their breakfast in the morning was very good.

The hotel smelled of cigarettes everywhere. People kept putting rocks in all the exterior doors, which was a safety concern. The elevator was slow and scary. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The Breakfast was excellent. The bed and room were good. AC worked. For an overnight stay, it was fine.

The building is old, and sheets lacking crispness, but the staff here make up for it. The free breakfast station was clean, had good fresh food options, and you can just tell the lady running it takes a lot of pride in what she does. Same for the cleaning crew. I checked out at Noon and ladies were mopping the outdoor walkways when they weren’t even dirty. All surfaces were sparkling. There’s a good vibe here that people like what they do and do it well and like each other.

My stay was good but a few things could have been better. One the wifi service was not the best. And the refrigerator froze my food. Room service was great. And kitchen staff was great and helpful to my needs.

This place is fine, nothing bad to say about it. But nothing I want to compliment either.

The location of this hotel is excellent. It is right off Douglas Blvd, close to all fast food and a Target. Did not see any homeless encampments. The staff was very friendly. The building is probably old, but they do keep it up. The pool and hot tub is in good shape. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very good with a lot of standard choices. Parking was ample and easy. Lastly, they are pet friendly. I have a small dog so room size was fine. There is grass in the front and on the sides of the building (bring your own poop bags). I would recommend this hotel. (Sacramento MEPS is 20 - 30 minutes away).

Was in a good location, needs some updates to the rooms and property

The hotel needs a paint job, needs security too, random people would just pull up and do their thing in the parking lot and leave. Pool area never had towels, when u asked for toilet paper only got one roll when I was staying for 3 plus days. It just sucked!

Staff was lovely need upgrade on WiFi and television stations. Need access to Netflix. Stay was 2 days due to treatment at Kaiser. Couldn’t relax and watch movies on my iPad or television. WiFi so slow and no access to Netflix. Most hotels you can logon to your own account

Ben at the Front Desk was awesome. Very helpful and friendly. We wanted to be on the third floor but needed an elevator. There was one close by - perfect location. But it was not in service the first day. The ladies at the breakfast area were wonderful. Attentive and highly efficient. Toilet plugged up once and one dresser drawer would not close all the way and sometimes slid open, tv had slow reaction time and lost signal at times. Overall, excellent stay.

Friendly Reception staff, clean, quiet, breakfast staff very attentive.

Good service at lobby and comfortable clean rooms, but slow service. I called three times over the span of two days to get the trash taken out, and I was told that it would be taken care of, but nobody ever came by to my room. I had to go up to the lobby to request the bags to replace them myself. And of course I had to throw the trash bags out too.

The hotel itself is Average. But our beds and pillows were not comfortable. And the TV didn’t want to work, it was buffering the whole time. And there was construction above our room making for loud days.

Room and property were clean. Tub didn’t drain and had water ankle deep by the time we were done with our showers. One bed was decent, the other was pretty springy. Overall not a bad hotel.

It was enjoyable and relaxing. We stay here each time we come to town.

Cockroaches outside the rooms and by the pool. Some pool chairs were literally melted. Hallways were musty and had water damage in the ceilings. Limited staff so we had to go all the way to the lobby when we wanted fresh towels.

I was hesitant to stay here but was pleasantly surprised. The room was fine and the beds were actually more comfortable than higher end hotels we have stayed at. People were nice and the guy at the front desk was super sweet, I forgot his name but he is in the military, very good customer service.

Requested housekeeping ~9AM per their instructions, but the room wasn’t cleaned when we came back ~10 PM. The key card was also needed to rekeyed everyday. Breakfast room staff are courteous and nice.

We ended up in 3 different rooms in the course of the first hour. The first room didnt have water, the second smelled of cat urine and the 3rd ended up being in the "executive wing". The staff members were friendly and the breakfast was fine.

I Liked the big TVs and the air conditioner in the rooms. It was a good visit.

The beds were very comfortable and it was conveniently located to our event. The breakfast was also above average with make your own waffle machines. A bit dated but clean. We didn't get a chance to use the pool or the hot tub, but they looked well-maintained and big enough to accommodate large groups.

The night audit is an embarrassment. No wonder he works at an establishment like this. The rooms are trashed, stained floors, torn carpet, smells horrible, barely any bedding, mites/bugs in the carpet, parking lot full of cars with bullet holes,walked in and drawers were open, mini fridge warm and smelly, tile on floors cracked and stained, dresser burnt, tv remotes dead, hair in the tub, people yelling as cars are parked. The night auditor is lazy and uses any excuse he can to not do his job the way the brand trains their employees. The manager must be a real piece of work here if they let their property team and quality be like this. The front desk guy doesn't realize it but my glasses are AI and recorded his wonderful check in

I am writing this to inform you that I did not stay there and they refused to refund me. I opened the door to cockroaches on the floor. I took video of it. I showed the manager and she said nothing but that you paid for it. I’m reporting this to you and if nothing is done, I am reporting it to the health authority in Sacramento and Roseville, CA.

It was a good experience, we had a show to see at goldfield and for driving its only 6 minutes away. There Breakfast is good and the potatoes they served has a nice crisp texture and not just soft, they also had Orange Juice so thats a win. The tables and everything in the eating area was clean so that alone is great. Room was in great condition, beds nice and clean.

The room was large. We had a suite. The beds were comfortable. Pillows were not great. The refrigerator and microwave were older, but still worked. The shower bathroom didn't have a fan. And the toilets were very short. It was difficult to wipe without getting your hand wet. The soap, shampoo, and conditioner were nice.

Overall only average facility and amenities.

The property was in decent condition. The room was a little dated, but very clean. My room was much larger than I expected. The bed was comfy the jetted tub was heaven! I kniw this hotel had a hot tub and pool, but who really wants to share their relaxation time? I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

The staff in the breakfast room was so helpful in teaching me how to make a waffle 😊 she's got an exceptional customer service April 6 at 8am🌻

This was a good place to stay in terms of location and basic amenities. We were given a room based on our needs to get good quiet rest. Everyone was respectful, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

I was traveling for a wedding shoot and had to get up early, so the complimentary breakfast was a good bonus for me to save on time (and money). Good room, good service.

Great place

The coffee pod maker fills more than the cups allow so i burned myself tryinf to get the cup. Not cool. The jacuzzi tub/shower gets water all over the floor when you take a shower because the curtain rod doesnt cover the tub part to contain the water, and when i did take a bath trying to telax one of the jets had the cover off and it shot all over the bathroom including onto the sink whwre my phone was. Though they had a maintenance guy come up he said he wouldn't fix it until AFTER WE LEFT THE NEXT DAY! So needless to say the main reason i wanted THAT room for the jacuzzi tub was literally ruined. I would rather stay in the cheapest room because i didnt get to enjoy the one perk of the room.

Front staff was rude till I checked out. Maid service came at 8:30 am. I was asleep. Forgot towels in my room. How this place is in business?! No idea. I wanted to check out my first night. Room was smelly. If I didn’t book this?! I would have left. I am so mad I picked that place!

The staff made this trip very comfortable had some issues with maid service the rooms can use a upgrade mold was on bathroom ceiling but overall it was a great time from the bar and nachos at night which my kids enjoyed I will go back again once again the staff was excellent and accommodating

This place was excellent. The staff was engaging and friendly. The breakfast was everything I HOP could offer. Plenty of free parking. Clean & secure.

The room was fine but I could only find one working outlet to charge my phone, laptop, and watch so that was kind of a pain. Everything else was fine.

coffee pot did not work

The machine to get coffee and others drink was amazing because I could select any type of coffee or chocolate. Breakfast was okay but no yogurt. Room was okay and clean. :)

The only down fall was the pillows I like small flat pillows these were fluffy huge hurt my neck while sleeping but over all great experience, friendly, clean, wonderful breakfast! They offer 3 beds in one room very convenient for families with children or guest.

Great shower pressure, which is definitely a plus, the only negative thing I can say is the beds and pillows were old and not very comfortable, they should definitely replace them.
