Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chicago West - St Charles by IHG

This Holiday Inn Express just needs some love. The facilities need maintenance. The staff was nice and the room was as clean as it could be. It is time Holiday Inn Express St. Charles for a remodel or even some maintenance on this facility.

close to Geneva and St Charles for shopping. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. A lot to choose from with different options daily.

The breakfast was good and I liked the variety from day to day. The location was good in that there was plenty of good places to eat nearby. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were fluffy. Also, the 24-hour availability of coffee (regular & decaf) along with hot water for tea was wonderful. The bathroom had issues. The shower's water pressure was extremely low. Even after the shower head was replaced, the shower pressure, while better, was still substandard. The tub stopper was not functional and the device to shift from bath to shower was broken.

The condition of the bathtub and caulking was very poor. The toilet seat was loose and I was unable to tighten it. The toilet base looked very dirty.Both mornings the oatmeal was watery.

The front desk was very helpful and efficient. The room was clean and spacious. The gym had the right equipment for us to keep our routine. Breakfast had a great selection of healthy foods. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone for any occasion.

I was on the first floor near the side door and that door was so loud and disruptive. I would suggest fixing that door or not putting guests in the rooms near it.

Did not see any type of vacuum being used only lint type rollers to clean carpets. Not GHP status .

This was a clean, apparently safe location surrounded by restaurants both casual and fine dining. The Fox River Valley is lovely.

Hotel was fine! Front desk woman was less than friendly upon check in and through out the stay; didn’t seem like a place that welcomed families.

There was nothing to dislike.

We finally settled into a habitable room an hour after arrival.

Needs a major renovation

Overall a great stay. The breakfast was wonderful with 3 young children and the room gave enough space for everyone. Recommend better seals around the door to block out the hall lights. It was so bright it looked like we had a light on in the room.

I am a member. I called this hotel, spoke with a woman explained that I had an emotional pet who is registered, a letter from my physician for my anxiety/panic attacks. She informed me my pet was welcomed. Sadly I didn’t write her name down. We arrive driving from Nashville where the desk lady said we couldn’t stay there. She wasn’t helpful of where there might be a place, never apology about the error on “your part”. Nonverbal communication appeared like it was my fault. Unacceptable behavior.

Stayed here several time for Blockhead outings. Very clean and reasonable and close to a lot of restaurants and shopping.

Every went well, just the pool was a bit dirty and Some type of sewer smell coming out of the bathroom.

The room needed to be remodeled. The light switch in the bathroom was broken and you couldn't shut it off, the board on the bathroom were rotted out, the tile in the little kitchen area kept flipping up if you stepped closer to the edge, the AC didn't work very well at all and squeaked a lot. We also didn't get our room cleaned when we asked for it to be cleaned. Also asked for towels and they never came. Had to go get a set of towels. Stayed in a queen Suite, we will stay at another hotel if we are back in the area.

I was expecting a separate bedroom with a door that closed, other than that, the room was very nice!

Property was as expected, a 3-star hotel at a 2-star rate!

When they came to clean our room they only picked up our used towels & emptied the garbage. They forgot to leave us any clean towels. Nothing was wiped down , vaccumed, or sheets changed in 4 days. Needless to say that Housekeeper is no longer at this hotel. Great breakfast, I would probably book here again.

Large spacious room

The breakfast was excellent, the rooms were impeccably clean. It’s a nice hotel but we would have gotten a better nights sleep if we had stayed in our car.

The room was clean but we were on the end, so people going in and outside rattled our door through all hours of the night. Also, the shower was so slippery.

We had a very nice stay. My 8 year old left her snuggly & pillow in the room after we checked out and the hotel staff made mailed the items to our house so we didn’t have to drive 3hrs back. They also accommodated my elder parents and gave them a room that was very close to the entrance & breakfast area. They even helped my parents get their breakfast to the table. Thank you for the wonderful relaxing stay!!!

This is our favorite hotel in st charles! We stay MULTIPLE times every year! The staff is so wonderful. We love Eileen! :) Rooms are always clean and cozy! Wahlburgers is short drive - perfection!

The Staff is outstanding! I had lost two very nice bracelets about 4 .months ago and they had them waiting for me . I was so happy! All of the staff are friendly. I love the king size suite. So roomy and comfortable. This is our choice. Of hotel's. I highly recommend it.

We picked this hotel because it had an indoor pool that my grandchildren could enjoy. However, the pool was disgusting. Cloudy water with clumps of hair and unidentified substances flowing in it.

We enjoyed our stay. The check in and out were wonderful. Nice front desk staff. Good breakfast. Only concerns were water pressure for the shower and terrible plastic forks and knives for breakfast.

Great stay in St Charles.

The Front people were somewhat helpful. We arrived early and asked if the room was ready. We were told no. Which is understandable. She said she would call when it came available. We waited for 3hours and no call. The check in is at 3 and we went in at 3:15 and I asked if the room was ready yet. She said I don’t think so. The other lady gave her an odd look and said it has bee for a little while.

This hotel is perfect, no need to stay anywhere else! Breakfast? Amazing, they even had turkey sausage which was a huge plus for our family. The indoor pool was clean and well kept and we were in there multiple times. The fitness center was great too! The people at the front desk were always so helpful and friendly as well. We won’t stay anywhere else when we come to the area any more. 10/10!

The hotel was very clean, the rooms were bigger with more amenities than we expected and it was very well priced. And, again, the staff was outstanding. We would highly recommend.

Everything is excellent

First I want to say that all of the staff that we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. But the hotel overall could benefit from an update. The bathroom had some peeling finish in the bathtub, the toilet didn't seem to flush quite right, and the worst was the dampness and subsequent smell in the room. We did talk to the front desk while we were there and they were able to solve the issue of the smell but the room still didn't dry out in the additional day we were there. It seems the ownership could invest some money to make the rooms more pleasant for their guests.

My Phone did not work and it was plugged in. My bathroom sink was draining very slow.

Friendly staff and pretty clean. Definitely a little older--nothing fancy and signs of age. Our room had an odd smell and the ac unit rattled when the fan was on. Not a bad place to stay but nothing great.

The staff was extremely friendly and the location of this hotel is perfect for anyone staying in or near Saint Charles. The fitness center had adequate machines and weights as well. I would recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel very clean

I had a very positive experience staying at this hotel.

The hotel room had damages along the wall and inside the shower. The elevator was making loud noises every time it ran. The hotel was surrounded by a construction site. It wasn’t what I expected to say the least but I will say overall it was clean.
