Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott San Francisco San Carlos

The hotel looks new. They have a nice small gym and a nice small outdoor pool. Breakfast was better than most Marriott properties. My only issue is the fact that they charge $15 for daily parking. Maybe it Expedia where I booked my hotel didn't disclose this fact. I do wish the Expedia does a better job informing users that a parking fee exists and the amount of the fee. It just feels like a hidden fee that I only learned about when I checked out. I also wish that the front desk person confirmed that I was aware of the $15 daily parking fee. Why hide this information? I am unlikely stay here again.

Great breakfast. Coffee bar after breakfast hours. Don’t like paying for parking. Should be part of the service. No complimentary bottled water. Staff was a bit lacks on explaining the facilities and amenities when we checked in.

The area is very convenient and the staff are very accommodating.

I can’t stay at this hotel again since it lacked an EV charger.

Overall, the room and property was very nice, however, service at the check-in desk wasn’t very warm. The wall heater/AC unit lacked dials, as in they were missing. Room phone was hooked up and useless. An ice machine on the second floor would be nice.

Clean

It's one of those "this is where the team stays for soccer tournaments" kind of hotels, I think. The only problem is we aren't on a soccer team. It was clean, though, and the staff was efficient, but it wouldn't be my first choice in the future.

For a hotel offering easy access to Silicon Valley and airports it is a great location and a significantly better value. It's clean, comfortable, quiet, and safe. For a 1-3 night stay on a business trip, I'd definitely return. Nothing to mention.

It was in a nice area by the small airport. You can hear the engine on the airplanes, but that did not bother us. They do charge you for parking if you are staying here. It is not free parking. It costs $15 a night so be prepare for that.

The renovation looks great. The breakfast offerings are extremely good!

Super clean! The hotel seems to have astounding soundproof qualities… We barely heard anything inside our room and it was phenomenal! All the employees were great and there's three floors in each floor have their own breakfast room… Really loved it and would definitely stay again

Room was great location ok only 20 minutes to our venue., only fownside no wheres did I see they was a chsrge for oarking.

The room was recently renovated, and very clean. Breakfast room needed more supervision. They were out of a lot of things by 8:30 when everyone was trying to get in before 9:00.

Clean and nice layout of room. Traffic noise from freeway evident. The bed was very comfortable.

I was looking for clean and quiet for my kids and I, a weekend in Redwood City visiting family. This fit the bill. Clean, quiet, good breakfast selection and has a small gym. It’s nothing fancy but comfortable w a great price

Great stay. Staff was helpful to change our room since the fire alarm was going off in our original room. Close to the Aviation museum and Starbucks and other restaurants. Quiet location.

Yes very nice! But some things in the room were difficult for us seniors to figure out! The breakfast food was not very good, although other Fairfield’s are much better.

I was surprised there were no cookies and coffee or muffins in the lobby for guests that are arriving. I was also shocked at the fact when I asked the front desk for additional water after my first day since I was staying five days she told me the two bottles of water are only for guest when they arrive. I reminded her I was staying for five consecutive nights and she told me I could buy water eventually she gave me two bottles of water, but I was very disappointed in this service.

I stayed here for a wedding. Everything was clean and people were friendly. There was also a decent continental breakfast. One thing that stuck out, my boyfriend forgot his key while I fell asleep and he went to the parking lot. He called and knocked but I slept through it so he had no choice but to talk to the desk. They were worried about my safety so when they did let him in, they insisted they speak to me directly to make sure I was okay and he wasn’t a stranger. Although it was an inconvenience for my boyfriend, I am happy they make sure all their guests are safe.

Everything was good. There were some minor water shutdowns during the day while the hotel undergors renovation but overall a good experience.

They disable room key cards 20 minutes before checkout time. This is not published in their policy and front desk could not provide any meaningful reason why this is so.

It was a great place to stay with a great breakfast bar. Some place I would consider going to again. There was construction going on but outside of the protection in the elevator I wasn’t impacted.

Hotel is next to Starbucks. Clean and staff was helpful. The room had a microwave and mini fridge.

The only issue was that they have to move us from one room to a different one because the tub was liking and water was everywhere in the floor.

Average hotel stay. Room could use a bit of updating. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. It felt as if you were sleeping right on the metal springs. Air conditioning was loud. Bathroom was outdated and noisy. Breakfast was very limited.

The room and facilities were clean and the staff friendly. But there was a water stain around our sink and there was a faint urine smell when we first checked on.

The staff was nice and the bedding was cozy. The continental breakfast was way above average, which is a plus in my book. Parking is free. Free parking, great and also free breakfast and cozy bedding make it a great place to stay!!

Used the gym. That was great! Front desk clerks were nice! Loved that there was a Starbucks right next door! Pretty quiet at night. No housekeeping services, so had to ask for fresh towels. Breakfast was ok. Other than that, hotel was ok. Would probably stay there again because of the Starbucks and the gym. MAYBE.

Old and very few towels, outdated

Staff was friendly, property is older, we opted out of room service but found a pair of used underwear under the bed, no waste basket in bathroom or by the sink. Had issues with AC unit keeping the room cool, and the hallways were muggy. The pool was nice.

Their policy is to clean rooms every other day. If you stay more than one day like what we did, the room was not cleaned daily.

Woke at at 4 am to smelling cigarette smoke coming through the vents- didn’t smell in hallway so it must be from another floor? Odor strong through- couldn’t sleep after that. VERY OVERPRICED PROPERTY!! Old and dated, small

Excellent location, across the street from the Hiller Museum, where we were attending an event. Nothing too fancy about the hotel, but it is clean. Included breakfast was about what you'd expect. One issue they need to look into: Watching TV is a challenge. Lots of blips and pixilations on every channel.

This hotel was not as advertised. ALL of the switches in the room were occupancy sensors, meaning the lights wouldn't turn off. Turning lamps on was dangerous, as one was falling apart and both had broken switches. The management was ineffective and largely missing, as children running through the halls at midnight, music until 2am and the smell of marijuana taking over the entire bottom floor would confirm. The one item that would turn off on the occupancy switch was the air conditioning - while I was sleeping. Staff cleaned the room and removed the used cups without replacing them, and neglected to wipe down the mirrors that had layers of dust atop them. The provided pillows were half-sized and ONLY light feather pillows, so if you weren't used to them you'd have a locked neck in the morning. The bed springs creaked loudly as they tipped you off the edge, and the 'blackout' curtains did not help the stream of light from the constantly flickering, poorly maintained parking lot lighting. As we were checking in, a guest approached the front desk about fraudulent charges that popped up upon his checking in. I attempted to purchase upgraded internet 3 times, but the system never worked. I needed this due to the obvious cell phone blocker installed in the hotel. My signal would drop from full 5G to less than half of a 4G signal upon walking in through the front door. Our team left early and slept in our trucks. This should not have the Marriot name attached.

Enjoyed the location. Watching the planes come and go was fun. Convenient to amenities. Staff was friendly and attentive. Space was clean and comfortable. Never tried the pool, so no comment there. But overall I would stay here again.

Not much to like here.

Elevator does not work. Be prepared to carry your bags up the flight of stairs to your floor. Neighbors are noisey and can easily hear noise from other rooms due to thin walls. Toilet seat is very low to the ground. They charge for parking.

Horrible experience and very upset that Expedia says we were only 9.55 miles away from where we were there for yet it was still an hour drive somehow without much traffic. Overall worst experience we've had with Expedia.

Property is used for storing shipping containers so even though lower level has a window and nice views of the airport you may not see the view. Breakfast is well stocked has two hot items usually eggs, sausages, potatoes etc. Other items such as fruits, breads, yogurts are well stocked. We stay here 3-4 times a year and would do it again.

I love the kitchens in some units and the laid back atmosphere. Set back off main streets quiet and safe.

Accessibility issues in shower. Requested a roll in as pictured. Got a tub instead. Only one grab bar at one end. Dispenser content were not legible due to size & background of lettering. Me husband had to be with me the entire time to ensure that I did not fall and could get in and out of tub.

The service was good and the breakfast was decent. Only thing is they are taking off breakfast half an hour earlier than the scheduled end time

Overall, good. Biggest complaint is that I went to the desk to purchase a bottled soda. And it tasted kind of flat. I looked at the date and it was expired. Most of the sodas they had, had been expired for several months.

Property was nice and liked that the breakfast was open early because I had to leave early to the airport.

The staff is friendly. The breakfast was OK no complaints. It’s what I expected. My big complaint is The room fan/air conditioning is so loud. It sounds like an airplane taking off when you turn it on.

Room service is every other day which is okay. I asked for room service twice because I stayed 6 days. Not one time did anyone come in to tidy the room and refresh with new towels etc

perfectly acceptable for the purpose of our visit. we needed a comfortable place to stay while celebrating the holidays with our family. We were not around much during the day and did not require much in the way of amenities.

We have been doing our staycation here for last 2 years. There is construction going on behind the property but didnt bother us over the 3 nights stay. Cool to see hobby airport planes taking off and landing from the room. Breakfast is decent- had hot eggs or omelets and oats with nuts and seeds options. Has a small gym with weights and treadmills to burn of those excessive vacation calories. Was able to watch NFL games while burning calories. Cable has very limited options but has Netflix and YouTube capabilities. So wasn't an issue. They do charge $7 per day for parking, which was weird as its not a airport hotel that has limited parking space, again not a major issue.

Older property, fairly clean staff great

The property was very clean and quiet. The amenities are good value for the price. This isn't a luxury property but is far above the budget offerings in the area. I'd gladly stay here again and will recommend to others.

We had a great stay. It is an older building but it is very well maintained and comfortable. The free breakfast was excellent and the staff were very professional.

The exterior of the hotel was not maintained. The room was a little outdated, the shower curtain was dirty. Inside the drawers were dirty, there was no laundry bags. The curtains were filthy.

Although I'm grateful that they"upgraded"our room to a room with a view(which i thought i had already booked) the room itself smelled like an ashtray. I kept the door open all night just so i could breathe. The bed was noisy to climb into and whenever i shifted positions it was noisy. Woke me up a couple times. Overall this was not one of my favorite stays with Hilton.

Very clean. New carpet and drapes. I think the hotel is being renovated. The only thing I don't like is that the bed is a bit too soft but it's just a personal preference.

I wasn't able to utilize the pool, overcast and very windy. Breakfast the next day was great, because they offered so much. Tasty. Pricing was reasonable too.

There was a spider on the wall beside our room door , the microwave had dirt which I had to wipe clean the table had something sticky on its edge on one horizontal side, there were few channels on tv.
