Whatever shows on the Internet, it’s not the same. The door for the bathroom was nasty. The rooms are very small. I couldn’t charge my phone because the outlet didn’t work. They’re loose. They show on the Internet that you will get coffee machine. They don’t have a coffee machine they don’t have an iron. They don’t have a hair dryer either. I was very unhappy spending two nights so I only stayed one night and the second night. I just let it go cause I knew that was not cancellation that I will get back the refund I go to San Diego once a month or sometime two months but now I never never gonna stay in the hotel anymore and the price wasn’t that cheap. I spent $175 a night plus the parking lot the parking space.

The manager is entitled and his handicap rooms isn't ada compliant. The shower head is broken, the whole bathroom gets wet I dont have good hand dexterity he also does not have shower chairs available as it says on the website. I stya3d there for doctors appointments and he harass people with medical Marijuana cards smoking in the car I can let that slide as yes its legal in California and it is my medicine but some people are very against it for there own dumb reasons. Anywho. The bathroom i cant let go he shouldn't cater to the disability communities He also dosent have a phone in rooms so if there is a night time emergancy, like the fall I had at a hotel i got from yall in Feb, there is. NO one on staff to assist. So not a good fit for those of us looking dor disability accomidation. The manager didn't let me place a formal complaint. Got mad when I stated that I was in my car away from.the building and no where in the policy does it state that I cant use my state regulated medication. I also demonstrated the men smoking cigarettes but he only yells at people he dosent like I didnt see or hear him say any thing to the young man there was at least 20 butts there the next morning but I mean bias harassment and piling and choosing when to enforce rules while threatening to kick you out of his hotel. If you try to place a complaint he tells you to leave and never come back. Its unacceptable and dangers to cut corners on education, and ada compliance. But like I said once he told me not to smoke in my car I did not but I was in my car away from the building he said I needed to be on the sidewalk his property he can kick people out for using medical Marijuana in the state of California! So wouldn't recommend to any one with complex illness , who is a fall risk, or who asks for advertised amenities. Not safe . But the others booking has recommend have been great keep up the good work

The location was good and easy to find. It was close to the main area of San Diego we were expoloring. The room was very small and the bathroom was very tiny as well. Our main issue was the smell we experienced. The room had a very strong smell of chemicals as if they cleaned the room with some sort of chemical and close the room after. The smell did not let us rest properly and it gave us a headache throughout the night making our stay uncomfortable.

It’s conveniently across the street from a coffee shop and a liquor store. You can wake up grab a cup of coffee and you can have a nightcap before you go to sleep. Well you’re not allowed to smoke on the property not even outside in the parking lot you have to stand by a trashcan. I thought that was pretty demeaning. Maybe it’s an ethnic thing and they found upon smoking. I don’t know. I was desperate, and it kept me out of the cold. There were little to no hygiene amenities- I traveled with my one year-old daughter. I was expecting there to be at least two bottles of shampoo. Or enough for two people.

Not bad if you need a quick affordable place to sleep. Traffic can be a little loud but the price is usually good enough to look past that. Also, easy to find street parking.

No desk or chair ... first time I've ever had a room without a chair. TV panel was crooked. When I entered the room the AC was set to 61F and the fridge was unplugged.

The Front desk person was pleasant and the check in process was efficient. The Deadbolt on the room required a bit of Force in order to close the door and engage the lock.

Very nice location..walk to everything..Easy Airport access.. stayed few times n will again because of Very reasonable rates..Don't plan on sleeping in.. traffic noise permiates everything starting at 0700..

Bathroom toilet had cigarette burn stains on the lid. No shower sprayer holder. Just hangs there. Dirty shower and bathroom is in major need to maintenance. Mirror looked to have graffiti On the that someone tried to clean. Bed is bad. Sinks in the middle. Overall spear the extra 20 dollars and stay at a hotel that keeps up the rooms.

Room was very clean, and the Heat/AC works great. The staff is very nice and attentive. The neighborhood is pretty chill; however, Rosecrans St seems to be the local raceway. Lol. The location is great. Better Buzz Coffee across the street to the south, Winchell's Donuts across the street to the east, and liquor stores in both directions. Ralph's is two blocks away. You can see the upper half of the Americas Cup Harbor, very pretty at night.

Staff was okay. I was unsure at first but it was okay. The area is nice and rooms are clean. No bugs, stains or drama.

The Guy who checked me in was Rude - I stayed because of course they don’t do refunds- I have to put up with that - on Top of that be aware that they charged an additional $10 dollars for Parking. RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!

The neighborhood felt unsafe, with drunk people yelling outside during the night. I was supposed to stay for two nights but left after the first because it was unbearable. When I tried to contact the front desk the next morning, it was closed. None of the phone numbers worked, and no one ever called me back. I dropped the keys in their box as instructed, but that was it. This hotel is filthy, sketchy, and completely unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

There are gaps in the doors and thin walls. Which makes it loud in the room, additionally there is a smell in the room, similar to a mop that was left out overnight without cleaning it

The room is clean & small, but it smell moldy. The beds are comfortable. The fridge and microwave are helpful. Parking is $10/night extra.

ABSOLUTE HEAVEN!!, I am so impressed with every single thing that this hotel has to offer! I had read some reviews, and i wasnt so sure, but i mean it is great! And as an ex Flight Attendant, I have stayed in so many hotels, all over the world. Hotel Aqua Mar is certainly now my "go to" while im in Southern California! I am now disabled, and every accommodation was made for me. My service dog was welcomed with open arms, the managers at the desk were ever so nice! Jamal went out of his way to be sure i had everything i needed. The housekeeping and maintenance staff were also very kind and friendly. Microwave, fridge, coffee maker, all in my room! Loved it so much, i extended my stay!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I read some poor reviews and I don't have any idea about that! I was treated with ABSOLUTE respect and dignity at all times! The rooms are very clean! I had a coffee maker, fridge and microwave in my room! All functioned perfectly! There was a desk and chair, if i needed to do work or not, but it was right next to the bed, perfectly placed! I have traveled to many cities, as a flight attendant. I am now disabled, and my service dog was with me, and every accommodation was made for us! The front desk staff and housekeeping were top notch! Im sorry that now everyone will know how FANTASTIC this hotel is! I highly recommend this hotel!!

The beds were very hard and uncomfortable & made so much noise with any movement you made. The sheets super thin. AC worked good. Room size was good. Staff very nice and welcoming! And there’s a lot of stores, gas stations, things to do nearby.

The pictures on orbits make this place look very nice. It’s basically a slightly cleaner super eight motel. It’s more expensive than a super eight motel, but if you put this place next to a super eight motel, you’re not going to see much of a difference. The bed was hard as a rock, the road is right next to the rooms and was very loud all night and all morning. The room was clean, the towels and shower were clean.

Thought it is a no frils hotel, they do very well at making you feel welcomed. If I had any issue, it will be that they may benefit from an ice machine and or a soda vending machine. Other than this it is a great hotel to stay in a budget. Good Job and thanks.

Hotel Aqua Mar was okay. I did appreciate them calling to ask what time I would be checking in, in which showed they were expecting me. However, the room was more on the smaller side. We stayed in a two queen room. We were a little snug for my family of 4.

This motel is a hidden gem. The front desk gentleman 100% customer service. No matter the situation ( I made my reservation for the wrong dates) He handled it so well I didn’t feel the least bit bad from my mistake. There are features here unlike other places. Nice & newer easy to open & close windows on two sides of my rooms to get a nice little breeze instead of a/c. My single room is the least expensive and it has a larger size dorm room fridge that looks new & a nice new clean easy to use microwave. The medium gray color room darkening curtains were measured correctly and fit the window width with extra material so no gaps on the sides! The walls are nicely textured with great colors of paint in shades you might want to paint the inside rooms of your house when you get home! The mattress I like it is my firmness with smaller comfy bed pillows almost squares. Large flat tv with Cox great picture. The bathroom has the best large round flush fitting light fixture with the exhaust fan having enough power to do its job & it’s vented out! In closing my thoughts are this. How nice a smaller motel for a change. This motel location is great to go to Shelter Island, Liberty Station & don’t forget to visit the Cabrillo Monument. They are re-doing the road there now.i haven’t been here in 3 yrs & Miguel’s Cocina is still no doubt my favorite Mexican food restaurant in all of So-Cal with the best staff!

It was very close to the airport and Liberty Station, lots of dining places nearby that is walkable, liquor store and Winchell's donuts right across street. Very convenient spot. Room was clean and inviting. Upon checking in, Dave was polite and very helpful. This was the first time staying here. Price was very reasonable and I will definitely stay here again when in the area.

The beds are cheap and weird. The room needed a deep cleaning. You get what you pay for.

Location was great. Delicious coffee shop right across the street. The harbor with lots of really good restaurants, all walkable. The hotel was easy and convenient!

It's a great location for getting to Shelter Island or Point Loma/beaches. The street it's on is a traffic nightmare. There's a coffee shop right next door, which is nice. The room is what you'd expect for the price. It seemed clean except there was a weird burnt piece of plastic on the bathroom floor. I couldnt wait to leave in the morning, but it's fine if you just need a bed for the night.

I see a lot of negative feedback about this hotel but honestly, I would stay here again and again. Great amenities close to the airport very clean rooms definite stay next time.

Nice motel. Decent experience. First night very noisy outside cars people. Bed was extremely hard. Room was clean. Had a odor. Few stores within walking distance. Front desk guy was extremely professional and good vibes.

Checked in and the key card at first wouldn’t work. When I came back from dinner and got ready to relax, I Hansard the people upstairs from my room walking back and forth almost continuously! They continued to do that for several hours. I had to put earphones in to cut down the noise. Lousy night!

My bathroom smelled like it was hot boxed before I checked in. Thats why the bathroom fan fan was running. The dead bolt was not installed properly and would not fully engage. Not a very safe feeling in in a unfamilar room when you are trying to sleep.

Airport noise is too much to sleep

Check in was fine but surprised with a $10 charge to park on the hotel property. Absolute moral killer to get hit with the charge knowing full well I was already committed to paying for the room. Its a cheap move and I will never stay there again. Penny wise and Pound Foolish strategy.

Roach infested, fumes in my room, crack on wall near bed, noisy refridgerator, noise all around room, could not sleep.

The guy working the front desk was not friendly and felt like he was forced to be there to work. We were given a handicapped room, and didn't realize it till our last day. That's why the shower is a ground tile with only a curtain covering. That's why when you shower water is all over. Toilet has no lid and no hair dryer. You can hear all the noise outside. There was a guy yelling outside at 3 am.

Guy was arguing with me on the price works in the morning shift. A young guy learn how to talk to the customers and if you do not know anything you should keep quiet. He was arguing with me because of the deposit and I never gave any depositing that area I come all the time but he was on the parking space also in In hotels, there is free parking that he charged me $10 for parking that was not fair. I will never come back in that hotel again. There is no sense of talking.

If you need a hotel near the airport and close to the boat docks this hotel is a great option. Something I did not like was that you had to pay to park per day in the parking lot of a hotel you purchased.

I stay at Aqua Mar a few times/month for work, and the hotel is always super clean, the staff awesome, and they make it super comfortable.

Just average. Last minute booking. Took awhile for the guy to come to the front desk at check in (arrived at 10pm). Beds not super comfy. Extra for parking is a little silly. You get what you pay for. It’s ok for the price.

I was looking for a break from the heat, my house doesn't have AC. This was a nice spot for a couple of nights. It's on a busy street, but noise wasn't an issue for me! I would stay here again!

They did not give us a handicapped (ADA) room which we called and asked for specifically and they didn't provide us with one. The payment was non-refundable. My wife could not get her wheelchair in the bathroom and had to walk three painful steps to get to the toilet. The room had a stand up shower which she couldn't use. They charged $10 for parking. The TV was on the same side as the headboard and we had to push the bed to the other wall in order to watch it. We had to turn the TV off and when we turned it back on we had to quickly turn up our down the volume. After that when the volume didn't work at all. The place is very room down. We will not be staying there again!!!!

I’m not used to staying in motels in San Diego. If I do, I usually stay at a chain motel but because of prices I didn’t this time; big mistake. The room was a small no-frills room. No desk, no place to place suitcases. The toilet paper holder was broken. The worst part was that the shower knob was froze in place & couldn’t turn it. Thus, for 3 days no shower! I notified the front desk and they never had anyone fix it. Horrible!

The room was very small and the shower dial wasa not the one that belonged to it and i couldn't shut if off. The mirror is cracked, which was dangerous when you stick you hand out to the sink. the toilet was right next to the door super tight. It was very clean, updated and neat. just lacked chair .

This was a very last minute stay. It was late at night when we arrived so it took some effort to find someone to open up the lobby. The room was nothing special. Small but clean and good for one night. Bed frame was loud tho.

Asked for side by side rooms for the fact that we had a family of 6 staying. Beds were hard, bathrooms were poorly remodeled. Only plus side was they did allow us to check in a little early

The management was absolutely awesome. After Hotels.com screwed up my reservation, they flew through hoops to help me and a very tired traveler has a safe place to stay.

We were put in a handicap room which made it very awkward for the shower. The water head sprayed everywhere and outside the shower curtain. We should have been given a standard room and not a handicap one! For being a handicap room, the towel rack is too high above the toilet. Also the hook on the back of the door would be difficult for a handicap person too reach as it's 6 ft up the door. A big disappointment for two people that are not handicapped! The room above us was very noisy!
