Reviews
The hotel's location and views are highly praised by guests, with the staff's friendliness also receiving positive mentions. However, numerous complaints about hidden fees, parking issues, and cleanliness concerns are prevalent across the reviews.
- Excellent location and beautiful views
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Hidden fees and expensive parking
- Cleanliness issues and maintenance problems

Staff was great but hotel could use some upkeep

Friendly and helpful staff. Great view, and a lot of things to do nearby. Would be nice to have some updated streaming TVs but we spent most of our days out and about.

Very nice stay, the place was clean the staff were very friendly. There were a lot of free activities for the kids. I loved that breakfast was included. Nothing

The onsite dinning/food options are very limited and nothing was available for late hours, after dinner. The Market store closed at 10:00AM so the quick food and coffee wasn’t available after that. This got challenging as we got up early for marina activities then had to leave to go find simple breakfast options. No vending machines for drinks or ice machine. Parking was expensive and valet or self parking was the same. $55 plus tip a day. There were times the self park lot closer to the room was full so we had to valet at the front entrance and haul our stuff to our room which wasn’t terrible but not convenient. This was understandable except the lot is also open to marina guests even though it’s the hotels. One truck and boat trailer took up eight spots. Mission bay was great and close to all the main attractions. I would definitely stay in the area again but might look for other places to stay.

Our very expensive suite was beautiful. The staff were friendly. A big shout out for maintenance man, LaBron! However, the staff knew we experienced a couple of issues and offered no compensation for our inconveniences. Day one, after traveling several hours and in desperate need of sleep, our room had a very strong vibration that went on for a couple of hours. Finally, after calling for assistance, they discover a broken ice machine down the hall causing the problem. Next day, the hot water boiler in the tower failed, so ice cold showers. Day 2-3, a backed up bathroom sink. Finally, there was only 1 handicapped parking space near the Tower in the $50 a day self-parking lot. The other two were in the near the doors of the 3 story buildings, which were close to 100 yards from the Tower entrance. This was a feature that we truly needed. The property was pretty, but I think it wouldn't be one we would return too.

The rooms appeared to be dated needing at least a refresh, if not a renovation.
- 5/5
It's an amazing hotel with stunning views, great restaurants and helpful staff.
- 4/5
Clean room and pool. Excellent housekeeping staff. Balcony had a shoddy repair bracket on the railing which concerned me about safety. Everything is an upgrade so expect to pay extra. No outside food or drink in the pool area and the food and drinks there are expensive. Pictures on Expedia show a king patio room with a fire pit but the property does not offer in-room fire pits so I felt misled into my booking. Ocean view was quoted to me as a higher price than was quoted to my brother, who was also staying at the hotel. Overall not good transparency with pricing and accommodations, but the room and location still made for a nice vacation. Would probably stay again.

The accessibility to everything; the pool, the breakfast, the parking lot. THE BEAUTIFUL OCEAN VIEW The bathroom could’ve been a bit more clean

The staff at the reception were very friendly! The grounds are spacious, and there is a large swimming pool. There are plenty of activities for children. The room was very clean! Beautiful views from the window, too. We loved everything—we'll be back again!

- 5/5
I love staying here. Wish there was more dining options on property
- 5/5
Great pools and clean room.
- 5/5
Beautiful. Corner suite, perfect, with views. Their restaurant, Red Marlin, was delicious both nights we went and enjoyed by our entire family that attended. Expensive but nice for special occasion. They have parking, but not to accommodate our B Van that we were traveling in. Left Van at daughters as she said to many homeless problems in San Diego and it wouldn’t be safe unsecured on street.
- 5/5
Did not eat because of price. Too many mosquitoes, no bug spray in store.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 1/5
We were very disappointed in our stay here. We had nothing but issue after issue. I booked and paid for a corner room with a view and the view was of the dumpsters. They said they would move us but we had to stay in that room for the first night. They did move us for the remainder of our stay- until the toilet in our new room broke and we ended up the last night in a regular double queen room (no corner or view). So three times we had to move rooms- only got to stay in a corner view room for two nights even though we paid for all 4. Our rooms keys randomly wouldn't work multiple times, my family would be soaking wet from the pool, unable to get into our room while I went and stood in a 30 min long line to resolve it- TWICE during our stay. Parking was $50 per night but there were never any spots available if you came back in the evening so many times we had to find street parking. They did comp our parking thankfully. Just overall wasn't the relaxing vacation we were hoping for since we never got to really settle in with moving 3 times. I would not stay here again.
- 5/5
This property is simply amazing, from the ambiance, to the amenities, and the staff…just terrific. The heated pool and the poolside restaurant are great.
- 4/5
The rooms were clean but need a deep cleaning. I love that they had a host announcing the water games and activities on Saturday. I love how close to the water it is so you can walk around off the premise as well. I did not like that the water slides don't open until 11:30 and the two bigger slides didn't come on until 2 :( the food at red Marlin is not good. They upgraded my room to a water view at no extra price which was very appreciated. The room space is perfect and the views are gorgeous. The non water activities were great too.
- 4/5
Restaurants aren’t that great
- 5/5
Everything was clean…. The staff was friendly! It was nice getaway place!
- 1/5
Breakfast was mediocre
- 5/5
Every day went there was very polite. It’s great for kids. The pool is open till 10. The slides do close early though at 5 PM I think.
- 5/5
I had a wonderful time at Hyatt Mission Bay! The hotel staff, front desk and housekeeping were amazing. Great customer service and friendly. Room was clean (thanks Wanda) and my 6 year old loved the heated pools! We enjoyed a beautiful view of the sunset from our balcony. Perfect location. Walking distance to Belmont Park and a few mins away from SeaWorld! I’d def stay here again!

Thank you, Hyatt! Sarah U.

Great hotel with great staff and amenities. Great location for a San Diego get away.
- 5/5
Very accommodating for our infant’s first vacation! The staff were wonderful, and the rooms were a great size. Ocean view room overlooked the pools and landscaping as well
- 5/5
👍👍UP
- 4/5
The rest of the hotel is clean and functional, no frills. They have free shuttles to downtown locations which is a lovely bonus.
- 1/5
I never made it because it was an accidental booking a year prior and I completely forgot about the trip. They wouldn’t let me cancel it.
- 5/5
We stayed in the tower… stunning view, always something to look at. Staff absolutely capable…. Breakfast delicious
- 4/5
We had a nice stay, but it would have been much worse if we had to stay in the first room they gave us. It was in an old two story walk-up (no elevator) that had a dark exterior hallway. When I asked to move so that my elderly mother didn’t have to walk up and down stairs, the check in person was very difficult about it. I can only assume we were given this inferior room because of booking through a 3rd party website. They did eventually move us to a room with an elevator in the tall tower and it was much more in line with the Hyatt brand expectations. I’m writing this review to warn others about the possibility of this room with no elevator situation happening to them. My only other issue is that there are very few staff at the pool and you have to walk into the bar to order from the bartender. Just a little odd compared with most resort hotels these days.
- 4/5
Room wasn’t clean also they don’t respect the check in time
- 3/5
Property needs a refresh, rooms were dated and pull out bed to sofa was really uncomfortable, sleeping on springs. The door to our tower stopped working multiple times and we couldn’t get in. Tons of kids everywhere, if you don’t have kids, don’t go here. 20 kids in a hot tub is not relaxing. On site store and restaurant are grossly overpriced.
- 3/5
It was ok , rooms weren’t cleaned consistently
- 3/5
Pools are small and not enough chairs to relax
- 5/5
Perfect location for our stay, beautiful view, clean rooms, fun pool area, family friendly
- 5/5
Great stay, the clerk was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with great view!
- 5/5
Amazing space, beautiful atmosphere and wonderfully helpful staff.
- 5/5
If you have young kids, this is the place for you. The pool is so warm and the slides are great for the kids. They had great food and drinks at The Pelican’s Bay by the pool. The bed was comfy but the pull out bed from the couch was not. Thankfully , my kids didn’t mind it. The staff was very kind. Overall, I would stay again.
- 5/5
Great water slides to entertain kids and adults. The room was clean and free bottled water was provided. We had a great time, thank you!
- 4/5
Such a beautiful resort but the beds are some of the worst I have ever slept on, which was disappointing. Love the location and it is so clean and nice! Love the lemonade in the lobby, decorated so beautiful, and love the gardens surrounding the hotel. Great place just get new beds!
- 5/5
Ignore any negative comments, can't recommend this place enough. Staff is top notch, property is in great location and up to date, and it's in a great area to get around San Diego.
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
The birthday present was perfect for my son! He loved it!
- 3/5
Wasn’t the hotel for us. Although staff was friendly enough and wanted to be accommodating they fell short. We’re celebrating my wife’s 40th and my daughter’s 15th birthday. They said they would do something special. Had to ask numerous times and nothing was done. The hotel pool was way smaller than pictures shown. Super busy. Couldn’t even find a chair. I get it spring break but for 1200 dollars very disappointed. Didn’t even get a Continental breakfast. The hotel is nice and maybe not during spring break is way better. Just not ask expected for the price.

View and breakfast stand-alone 😋
- 5/5
Rooms were clean, property was great.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, very clean, lots to do, RedMarlin was great for breakfast.
- 5/5
clean rooms, beds were comfortable, pools were good, breakfast place was very nice.
- 2/5
The view was fantastic. Room had black mold above the bathroom light that had been broken and not fixed before our stay. Staff offered upgrade for our honeymoon then mentioned it was an upcharge. The ice machine outside our room was broken and I could hear it malfunctioning all night. There was a teamsters union party that was screaming and partying all night for the first three nights we were there. Hidden fees were almost double the cost of the stay. Called hotel and emailed and only got through and was met by very rude customer service staff who offered one free night and gave the money back for the upgrade. So, we do everything we could to be out of the hotel room. Wouldn’t stay there again.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay, especially with kiddos. The breakfast package is a must and an ocean view room really puts the whole vibe above and w
- 3/5
We were on a four night stay, After the second night we asked for a replenishment of coffee and towels. I expressed my belief that the room should be furnished with coffee daily. The host was cooperative and offered to comp one nights parking which I felt was acceptable. That didn't happen, we were not compensated one nights parking. Also, on the days the coffee WAS replenished, no sugar, creamer or stir sticks were supplied.
- 5/5
Great ocean view!
- 4/5
The staff were super nice. My complaint is the rooms are a little outdated and you can see the wear and tear. We loved the location and my kids loved the pool and slides, although we wished the slides either stayed open later or opened earlier since check in and check out don’t really coincide with the slide times (12-5pm).
- 5/5
No, we got a room at the lower level where the pool and bay were only visible to us.
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 5/5
The room, pools, hot tub, were all excellent. The casual pool-bar-cafe was well appointed. The Star of the Show had to be Red Marlin! Victoria started me off with a drink, talked me into some Chowda' and ultimately encouraged me to have the Pappardelle Pasta aka Short Rib Ragu which Chef made to perfection! My night cap was a brisk walk around the property and near the water before stopping by the Front Desk again where Kelly was kind enough to assist me with some questions I had. Finally, the sunset from my balcony on the tower was top 10 all time for me! Wow! I wasn't here for a long time (16 hours) but I was here for a good time! I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting in San Diego! The GM and DOO should be proud! A great property and a top notch team! Well done!
- 4/5
The room was amazing! The pools were great. My only complaint was the breakfast. The food was basic and service was terrible for the price and automatic gratuity. Save your money and go eat breakfast somewhere else.
- 5/5
Always a great time

The room was spacious and well laid out with an amazing view.

Hidden fees I was unaware for. Charged me almost 200$ on top of the room
- 4/5
with an event. It was much better when we moved rooms. Ocena view had lovely sunset views. Breakfast was okay. It would be nice if they included fruit, yoghurt in the Breakfast package and more gf options. The Marlin restaurant at the hotel was very nice for dinner. It would be great if they had a pool for adults and every pool had kids splashing around so poolside was not so relaxing especially when the slide was on also. The reception manager was attentive and they did show good customer service when certain issues were highlighted. The spa could be margeted better and spa specials would be a great way to attract customers as sometimes it was unclear to when it was open. eve
- 3/5
The room was not clean when we first arrived. The bathroom wall had white stains like they started cleaning it but left some white smudging. Also there were fake eye lashes in between the sheets of one of the beds.

- 5/5
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.. from the valet to front desk and restaurant staff. Rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean. It was a great stay and conveniently close to SeaWorld.
- 3/5
We enjoyed the pool, restaurant, and marina view room during our four night stay. I was billed an additional $75 after checking out and signing my final bill. I called and emailed the hotel and Hyatt customer service for an explanation and never received a response. I finally was able to talk to a hotel manager, and he said the charge was for unreturned pool towels! I was able to get refunded but what a hassle. Check for extra charges if you stay here!
- 3/5
It was okay. Nothing special. Room with Marina view was mostly a view of the parking lot, which you have to pay $50 to park in. The Marina view was barely noticeable because of the trees and then you have to break you neck to look around the building for the view. Room was quite expensive considering the $171 in points I redeemed, $50 parking, $45 resort fee. No vending machines, check in at 4:00pm and checkout at 11:00am. Not worth it for the little time there. Whale watching was good. You get a discount on Groupon. The fish restaurant next to the whale watching check-in was good and reasonable in price. Beds were comfortable. Room is noisy as you can hear the highway, emergency vehicles, etc. Wouldn’t consider staying here again.

I spent almost almost two thousands for this package, thought that it will include everything already. I end up got chatge so much extra. At the car rentle they chared me another another three hundreds extra from what i already paid, or service fee and insurance. And then at the hyatt regency mission bay hotel where i booked, they change me another servcie for hotel fees and also another seventy dollars a night for parking in the hotel parking lot. Expedia did not mentioed all these extra feesbwhen book. This was such a horrible experience.

This was an add on from a larger family vacation but we are glad we had the chance to experience it. The location was convenient to attractions and easy to get too. The place was in great shape and the staff were the best that we experienced on our trip. We will be back.
- 5/5
Amazing service and room!
- 3/5
Property seemed a little run down from a few years ago. And the dining options were so limited. Only casual dining option for a family with young kids was the Pelican by the pool…and on Sunday it closed by 6pm; also on Monday, Tuesday. Sunday the Red Marlin wasn’t even an option…it was closed for dinner. We had to door dash food to our hotel both nights we stayed there.
- 5/5
All of the above!
- 3/5
Balcony view was scenic. Did not eat breakfast on property. Parking was good but felt it was expensive.
- 5/5
Totally Recommend! Rooms are really clean and comfortable, the staff are great as well.

The little thoughtful touches - complimentary sunscreen at the pool, steamer in the room, water fill stations - a bonus.
- 5/5
Exceptional service, in fact from the valet to the front desk to room service hands down some of the best service we have ever received. Hotel itself was nice and clean as well, would recommend.

There’s a spider in my room when I checked in. I talked to the front desk and he upgraded another room for me.
- 4/5
Room and bathroom were clean, had a weird smell though. The bedding for the pull out consisted of a pillow and a light blanket. No sheets. We had to request more from housekeeping. The "balcony" is more of a one person step out platform. The view of the marina was nice.
- 4/5
The grounds were tropical.
- 5/5
Great location with all needed amenities
- 5/5
view was very scenic. The great attentiveness given at the restaurant Pelican's on the Bay for food and drinks ordered. The service was very good. The staff went out of their way to meet our needs in a timely manner. That was the highlight of our stay. The fast service was very appreciated due the fact we only stayed one night.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Every staff member we interacted with was lovely Beds were comfortable Breakfast was nice (would have loved more fresh fruit options) Pool was heated and the kids loved the slide! And happy hour by the pool was perfect Heads up for aussie travellers Even if you pay prior to arrival there is a hefty resort fee you pay upon arrival Something i didnt expect but it was in the booking details but i didnt check as its not something i was used to Other than that perfect hotel

The place was great and staff were courteous :)

- 5/5
Loved our stay
- 4/5
Yes enjoyed the view very much
- 1/5
The room smelled like a moldy washing machine and the room was dirty- the hair dryer had caked on dirt, the sofa had stains all over, there was a hole in the bathroom door. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Staff was amazing and property was beautiful

Hotel is outdated for the price. They advertise breakfast but its $50 a person NOT FREE. Hotel grounds stink of industrial bug killer. Ants a total of 11 in our room on the 5th floor. Marina view is a joke u less tou are higher than the 6th flloor. Tou will be blockes by trees otherwise. Got charged for 2 pool towels 4 days after checkout. They use RFID in the towel to scan for return. I uses one towel and returnes it, only to be charged 75.00 for 3 towels. They are crap towels nothing worth taking. When i called to rebuke the charges. I was told to pretty much pound sand. THIS IA NOT WORTH THE 400 A NIGHT! you can get the same and or better accommodation at a holiday in express...NO LIE! Save tour money and the water slides are worth ther extra cash. My son went down once and that was it.
- 5/5
Thanks to everyone at the front desk, housekeeping, and Red Marlin for taking such good care of us!
- 5/5
Everything was pleasant. Nice dessert at the end of the day at the restaurant.
- 5/5
Customer Service was exceptional, was able to checkin early. The rooms were immaculate, didn’t get to enjoy the amenities as we just went to stay the night for a wedding. Would definitely go back
- 5/5
we had an amazing time at mission bay! staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. everyone greeted you while passing by which was nice. the room with the balcony facing the ocean is absolutely beautiful! the pools were clean and the watersides are lots of fun. the cabanas are worth getting. the best part is you have it booked all day, you can leave, come back, and still have your cabana! food at the pelican is a pricey but good!
- 5/5
Believe her name was Monique who took are bags to our room. She has a great personality and you can tell she is as cool as sh%t. lol Not only her, but everyone was awesome. thanks
- 5/5
beautiful. It was more than I expected. Will definitely come again. The staff outstanding. From the front desk to the housekeeping. The groundspeople worked hard and kepted this hotel up to par. I loved the plants and all. So my stay was so peaceful, relaxing. I highly recommend and my rating is above and beyond. Thank you for everything.
- 5/5
A quick weekend getaway with the family. Staff was very polite, we had a great time pool side. It was nice having a coffee shop on site. My daughter asked if we can go back, the pool slides are perfect for kids dropping into 3.5 feet of water. In the courtyard we played ping pong and other games they provided. Definitely going back.
- 5/5
It was beautiful and nice for even just my short stay. Staff was super friendly as well.
- 5/5
Clean rooms great view amazing pool and we loved the breakfast
- 5/5
We love the Hyatt. The views are spectacular. The bed was very comfortable. The location is great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel with an island feel right on the bay. There was a seal who came every night to say hello. ❤️
- 5/5
The view was amazing
- 4/5
Loved the property. Great location with easy access to many areas of San Diego. The views of the marina were beautiful. The pool area was nice and the slides were a lot of fun. Some areas could be cleaner - like the concrete surrounding the hot tub.
- 5/5
Pet friendly and offers free kayaking vouchers from the marina!
- 5/5
Nice property grounds, beautiful rooms, nice view
- 1/5
The next door neighbors were very loud and I couldn't get a good sleep. I complained 3 nights and upset because I have stayed at a Hyatt before and it was a good experience. This time I am severely sleep deprived.
- 3/5
The restaurant (Red Marlin) needs some major work. While the breakfast is great the dinner service was nothing short of appalling. We went in for dinner, only to be told there would be at least a 40 min wait....this despite the restaurant largely being empty because they had "a large group taking up their capacity" and nowhere to be seen. So we added ourselves to the waitlist. 40 mins came and went - not even so much as a call, or a text. An hour and a half later we gave up and went elsewhere. We never received the call or a notification - only to find out we had simply been dropped from the list without notification. This for a restaurant that has the audacity to change $60 for a main meal with the majority of people there who are parents with kids. Utterly unacceptable. Lastly, it's also super disappointing that Hyatt does not provide points for Expedia bookings - one day, one of these hotel chains will use their brains and realize that by doing this they can capture wider loyalty especially for business clients who are forced to use specific websites for corporate policy reasons.
- 5/5
My kids loved this place! It was a nice little staycation and they enjoyed the pool and water slide. Food and drinks at restaurant were great! I wish we could stay more often.

I DID NOT LIKE THE A/C IN THE ROOM DID NOT WORK. AFTER WAITING AN HOUR MAINTENANCE CAME IN, MOVED A COUPLE ITEMS AROUND IN THE CEILING SPACE THEN STATED THE A/C WAS REPAIRED...IT WAS NOT AND IT WAS VERY HOT IN THIS ROOM. I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY COMPENSATION OR THE CHOICE TO MOVE TO ANOTHER ROOM
- 4/5
The only thing that disappointed us was no room service breakfast. Everything else was lovely.
- 5/5
Pool was fantastic, lots of options for kids and families (water slides were a hit!) cute courtyard for evening fires and ping pong, comfortable clean rooms and the breakfast was phenomenal.

Property was quite tired.
- 5/5
Highly recommended

Property needs updating- the suites are old are smell musty/moldy. So strong it gave me a headache. The carpet was sticky and grimey to the point where we couldn’t walk barefoot bc we might get athletes foot. The bathtub had two big chips on the inside so no baths for the kids. Pocket door to bathroom doesn’t close all the way! There was condensation on the windows probably contributing to the musty/moldy smell, towels were thin and scratchy (pool towels were better than room towels). The tower rooms are newer but the elevators were tiny and inconvenient taking forever to go up or down. There’s nowhere to walk for a decent cup of craft coffee. If you like $9 mediocre lattes- this is the place for you. The pool is about 1/3 of the size you think it is in pictures and cloudy/greenish. No breaks for pool maintenance and kids are everywhere. If you don’t sleep, you can enjoy all the planes taking off/landing at the airport, the loud diesel engines from the boats in the harbor, sea lions barking, sirens from the road. It’s a 20min walk to Belmont park but anywhere else you’ll have to drive.

Loved the experience and how beautiful property is

Great stay and acommodating!

We booked 2 rooms, both smelt funky (like mold/mildew) our room specifically had a strong smell of pet urine which was unbearable. We got in late and were traveling with kids so we sucked it up the 1st night. I took pictures of the mold in the room and uncleanliness and I notified The hotel that night and they planned for our rooms to be moved which we greatly appreciated. Even changing to 2 new rooms we encountered the same cleanliness issues (but didn't smell of urine), and mold/mildew smells it was tolerable but the standards here do not request $400-$500/ a night, it was pretty appalling. I think the managers name was Tyler? he was very nice and helpful but I understand his ability to make things right is limited, I think this property needs some renovating or more attention to detail in the rooms. Having carpet throughout the unit when you allow dogs, have a pool, sand and ocean is kind of gross. The only reason we stayed and didn't transfer hotels is the front desk staff was great. The majority of the valets were great but on our last night there (Sunday), we had a different valet working. I called to get our car and since we had numerous bag and their Suites were located a short walk from the lobby I asked if they could deliver it to us vs me walking with kids and bag. He informed me they were too busy and I needed to come to the front. I went there and found 2 valets standing around waiting with nothing to do... This was not the service I expected.
- 3/5
Came with our kids for Labor Day. Check in and valet was amazing. The room was good on paper but in practice: the mattress is old and bouncy-you feel everything- and the pull out couch was embarrassing- Springs everywhere. The toughest part was asking for anything took a really long time. We asked for a baby bed at check in and got to us after 5 pm- long after nap. The property is beautiful and great pool but when no one is having a good night sleep, it can make or break a day. Same thing on check out: asked for a cart and didn’t come for 45 minutes. Basically: dont need anything in a hurry And dont be needy sleepers.
- 4/5
There are some elements that could do with updating and the parking is very expensive, however suited our needs and beds were comfy
- 4/5
The first room we got when we showed up was dirty and we had to get moved. However, after that move, the room was very nice, the pullout bed for the couch was slightly broken. However, the staff made arrangements and we were able to sleep using something else. Overall, I would stay here again, the pool is very nice. The restaurants on site have great food heads up if you use self parking it’s a nightmare if you get there after 9 PM. Every single night we came home after 9 PM. I had to look for parking for like 25 minutes. They’re just isn’t enough parking stalls and they charge $50 a night. Outside of that I don’t have any other qualms with the hotel.

It was so much fun.

Not worth the money at all

Love it

I was not informed of the water outage in San Diego the night of my arrival. Had that info been transparent, I may not have stayed or made cheaper arrangments elswehere.
- 3/5
Staff and pool were wonderful. Our room was infested with ants, AC didn’t work, and there is never self parking after 8pm.
- 1/5
Rooms are dirty, walking bear foot on the room carpet ended with feet black of dirt. Rooms and elevators smell urine. It could not be worst
- 5/5
Great area family friendly
- 5/5
Awesome ocean views. Fun pool and slides. Great restaurants.
- 1/5
Upon checking in I was told the room I’d booked had a leak so they had me booked for a different room. This room they placed me in had an ant infestation. When I called
- 5/5
We didn’t get the balcony that we booked
- 1/5
If I didnt ask about it, they would just take that money This is scam.
- 2/5
The hotel is beautiful and staff was great. However, there was a $50/night parking fee and $48 dollar resort fee that was added to my bill when I checked out. I was only there for a wedding and didn’t even use the pool and other amenities. I feel like this should be part of the price of the room. It feels like this is their tactic to get people to pay them more money. I felt it was very dishonest.

Tried to enjoy the S’mores kits & everyone said they weren’t sure if they were available. I hate the run around. Breakfast buffet seem decent for the price until you ate it, greasy & not even the oatmeal was hot. Server didn’t bring all the drinks until we were done eating. Makes for a poor start to the day.
- 3/5
Pool restaurant long wait to receive service or hours to get some food Front desk staff very nice and professional One elevator not operating- long wait lines ( up to 40 minutes) in the morning or evening- We always stayed at this property- but this visit and experience was not to our liking- sadly
- 3/5
Overpriced. Did not offer room service and property was outdated. Location was good but so are other hotels in the area. Front desk were helpful on the other hand.
- 1/5
Very disappointing, ants all in our room and bathroom. Don’t stay here.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent — a truly family-friendly hotel with outstanding customer service. The breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety. The hotel also has a fun play area for the kids, and the pool was clean, relaxing, and perfect for all ages.
- 1/5
How are you going to have your guests wait in the lobby for hours?
- 1/5
The whole hotel is a big scam. I was charged so much extra without being told I would be or for what. They make you pay $50 bucks for overnight parking when the lot isn’t even big enough for everyone. On top of all that, the amount of money I payed to stay for a night and they couldn’t even give me a single water bottle in the room. I was very disappointed and would not be coming back. If I could stop others from coming here, I would.

Excelent
- 4/5
Hotel was great for kids. It was very busy which made it difficult to find spaces in the parking lot or by the pool. Room was nice and clean. Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Accommodations for our dog was really appreciated
- 5/5
We loved the ocean marina view from our suite, we got to walk out and see sea lions and try out kayaking. The only downside to this hotel is the parking is very limited and it is hard to find parking in the evening, also it’s $50 a night for parking which they don’t tell you when you book, only when you check in so that caught us off guard but overall we would return! Thanks Hyatt!
- 5/5
Great for young kids and grandkids to hang out.
- 3/5
Nice pool and common areas. Staff is friendly and helpful for the most part.
- 3/5
The pictures need to be updated. The room I reserved showed a fire pit in the patio/balcony but they haven't had them for 2 years. The room is worn and could use some updates. The cost didn't match the room.
- 3/5
Elevators were broken all the time which created queues and often forced us to use the stairs. Dining and drinking options in the are are VERY limited. the hotel exploits this with absolutely outrageous prices for the pool side restaurant and the diner restaurant. The pool side restaurant served ordinary grill food and cheap drinks in plastic cups. 2 cheap drinks will easily cost you 50$. The breakfast/dinner restaurant ("Red Marlin") is nice but a little bit outdated. The breakfast buffet is no different than any cheap motel. The dinner was exquisite, fantastic food, but the price tag will amount to a rent payment. Finally, *bill surcharges are not ok. Display your full prices clearly*.
- 5/5
We had a great start. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable. My kids loved the water slides. My only gripe is the service in the restaurant; the waiters didn’t come around often but the staff was friendly.
- 3/5
Also, our room was missing towels and pillowcases, which seemed as though it was not cleaned properly. Our toilet also clogged and we were locked out of our room one night.
- 3/5
We were placed in a bungalow room no view when my booking was a room with a view. Parking is $50 and they double charged for incidental fees even though I stayed only one night . Kids had fun in the pool but room was not it. Unfortunately I am unable to retrieve my hotel bill online because I booked with expedia. If you want to pay extra for mediocre stay this is your place.
- 3/5
Charge for towels are not returned to the pool site. The broken elevator.
- 4/5
Only complaint was that it was too busy
- 5/5
The perfect getaway. The room was very clean and spacious. Air conditioning worked fabulously.
- 3/5
Hotel needs a remodel . Ant problem and cleaning service is rushed
- 3/5
Our room was not very clean, not dusted, pretty sure the sheets weren’t changed, but overall out experience there was good.
- 1/5
We booked at two queen bed, but they put us in a room with a king bed
- 4/5
I fell in the restaurant on our first night and pretty much ruined my week because I couldn’t go in the water with my bloodied knees and elbow. They did offer 2 free drinks though 🙄
- 4/5
Missing some cover sheets for the sofa bed
- 5/5
Great staff! Super fun activities.Great location and nice room.
- 4/5
All in all it was great. We stayed in one of the suits and the room was a good size for a family of 4. The down side is you feel like a VRBO because you park in a separate lot and walk right to your room. You bypass the hotel. Also there was no room Servise. There’s good food at the hotel but you need to pick it up. They do not deliver. With all that we had a wonderful time and would go back!
- 4/5
Location was the best! Time for a renovation of mattresses and carpet. The view was awesome!
- 3/5
The room I stayed in was not clean. The pull out bed that was in the sofa did not have any sheets on it and the mattress looked dirty and really gross. There were ants in the room and the floor left residue on your feet when you walked on it. I parked near the Banyan court and there was human feces right near the area where they hold weddings and events.
- 4/5
Good but $50 per day for parking is too high! Also, the pools are quite full with children!
- 2/5
This property is overpriced and needs updated!!!

I wish they have newer pillow the ones we have seems like so over used. The rest is immaculate, we have a balcony facing SeaWorld .

It was one of the best stays I’ve had in San Diego! The staff were friendly, accommodating & very nice. The hotel grounds were nice and great for a stroll. Next time I’ll make sure to learn how to score a s’mores kit 😊

Staff was nice. The staff at the Red Marlin went above and beyond!! Thank you to everyone. Our stay was lovely.

This resort was very family friendly with friendly staff and lots to do.

Booked for 3 days 2 nights ended up leaving early due to being very unhappy with our stay. To start off we booked a suite with a marina view non smoking and when we got into the room the room appeared dusty and smelled like smoke and mold. The rooms mini fridge was also filled with old smelly food from the person prior to our stay. When we called the front desk to request housekeeping to come and freshen up the room the housekeeper came and just dumped out the trash but nothing was wiped down nor sanitized. We personally had to go to target to purchase Clorox wipes and air freshener to make the stay bearable . Upon checking out early and requesting a refund for the second night which we did not stay for …we were denied a refund . I definitely will not be booking with the Hyatt again .

My son got bit by a couple of ants while laying down so did I I found a couple of then we were paranoid I took pic and will be requesting partial or full refund 😭

The pool area was nice, my daughter loved the water slides! It is like a wind tunnel in the pool area though, which was really cold! But the pools were heated so that helped. Beautiful views!!

This place was giving Hawaii vibes. My kid loved the pool slide. Nice to watch seaworld fireworks from our room and kayaked at the marina.

I had to check out a day early and switch to another hotel even my booking was non refundable . Don’t recommend this hotel at all. We made a reservation for 2 queen beds and we were given a one king size room , the front desk said that we won’t like that two queen beds room . That being said the hotel is creepy and dark .

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina from July 17 to July 20, 2025, in Room 2219. Given the Hyatt brand’s reputation for high standards and hospitality, I was extremely disappointed with the condition of the accommodations and the inadequate service provided throughout our visit. Upon arrival, the overall condition of the room was noticeably worn down and unkempt. Most concerning was the discovery of garbage left in the sofa bed, indicating that housekeeping had not conducted a thorough cleaning prior to our check-in. Despite reporting that the shower drain was not functioning properly, no one ever came to fix the issue, nor were we offered a different room as a resolution. This lack of follow-through is unacceptable. Additionally, the air conditioning in the room was unreliable, failing to maintain a comfortable temperature—an issue that significantly impacted our comfort, especially with two small children in our group. We were also forced to request towel replacements multiple times, and even then, the replacements were insufficient for our group of five guests.

Great spot for families. Great pool
