Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests praising its aesthetics, food, and some staff members, while criticizing the front desk service, cleanliness, and certain amenities. The location is generally well-liked, but some guests express safety concerns about the surrounding area.
- Beautiful hotel with great food and drinks
- Convenient location, close to attractions
- Front desk service is often rude and unhelpful
- Cleanliness and certain amenities do not meet expectations

Very amazing staff and great atmosphere would love to go again!

Although expensive, our room was nice and very comfortable! I have never had such great sleep, as I did at this hotel! Valet was nice and bell desk was wonderful! Room service food, was a 3. Vegan burger was wet, fries were cold. The margherita pizza was burnt and not edible. All in all the $1G that I spent for the weekend was worth it.

The pool is great to swim laps in and get a nice work out. The hot tub water level was visibly low and jets maybe needed some maintenance. The room was very nice with a sweet view of the bay. The automatic blinds were very handy. The pillows and blanket were all down, which can be nice but it is preferential. Overall, I'm considering this to be a nice home base hotel to stay when I'm visiting the city.

I also paid extra for a room with a view, but the view was very disappointing and not what I expected. The food and drinks were quite expensive and unfortunately not very good. The check-in experience was frustrating as I had difficulty understanding the staff member assisting me, and I wasn't given clear information about the hotel amenities or where things were located. Overall, the service and value did not meet my expectations. I won't be staying here again and I cannot recommend it to others.

I don't often leave reviews. but I really liked this place. .I was in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago and stayed at this hotel. Excellent value for money, in my opinion the best in the city. The view from the corner of the room, excellent cosmetics, and a modern interior leave the most pleasant impressions. Nice

Absolutely love this hotel! The staff is always extremely accommodating! The room was clean and prepared. And upon arrival me and my guests were upgraded and given two complimentary drinks from the bar downstairs. Salah checked us in, and had the best attitude. Its so nice to have a home away from home!

Everything was excellent, top notch, except the foam pillows I requested (allergic to down) could be better quality. It felt like laying on a lumpy bag of laundry. Other than that, everything was exceptional.

The whole reason I booked this hotel was because of the swimming pool, and I have not got to use it once because it was down, it would have been nice to get a heads app that the pool wasn't even available for use. I feel like I wasted a whole three thousand dollars.I even upgraded my room when I got here. But it seemed to be a waste of time and money

Excellent place to stay in SF. All the conveniences of a top property while priced less than other top places to stay. Once you stay there, you will understand why it was President Obama's preferred place to stayl in SF. We recently stayed at another SF Hotel and deeply regretted not going back to the Omni. We were a bit put off by the $92 a day parking--but going forward will just look at it as part of the total room price when comparing other properties.

Large, clean 2 double bed room with a large bathroom and shower. Location is great for downtown, assuming you stay northeast of 5th street. Restaurants a short walk away but not too much very nearby. The staff is amazing, breakfast buffet was fanastic. Unfortunately the pool was closed for emergency repairs (which was not fun with kids expecting pool time) however management comped our breakfast buffet for our entire stay, truly a class act.

Our last stay at IHG was in Miami, and we decided then that IHG was our new favorite hotel. San Francisco did not disappoint! We were provided a very spacious corner room with an outstanding view. The area is very walkable, close to transit, and the sidewalks are free and clear of the obstructions that plague other areas of the city. The staff was very friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Zoe in the main lobby bar was outstanding. Great service knowledgeable of the local community. Bull Sutton - the concierge - is a legend. So glad we met him and got great recommendations for restaurants. He is a gem and every hotel should have one like him. A star. The bar and room were great. Amazing view. Also the Club Room, while on a lower floor, great staff and selections throughout the day. Pool and hot tub were perfect. Hot and clean. The location is amazing with so much to walk to. Chinatown. Union Square. You are a short walk. Plus free charging for your car. What’s not to love? My favorite place to stay in SF. Just wish I got the corner room they offered but then sold out. Next time! Bring your bathing suit. The indoor hot tub is the best. The bell staff were very helpful and friendly as well. Loved it. 5 stars.

My best friend died a few days before the trip. I didn't feel up to traveling. I contacted the hotel and I contacted Expedia. They both told me they couldn't help and I would be charged regardless. So, not great. What is the point of the 'insurance' and what is the point of booking through expedia if they don't help at all?

For a hotel at this level, the food was not very impressive. If the food quality were improved, this would be a great place to stay. I really liked the room, and the restaurant staff were excellent very attentive, professional, and kind. However, the food itself needs significant improvement. I was almost tempted to go out to eat at another restaurant, but unfortunately it was raining.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a 3 day trip together. The hotel was conveniently located and well kept. The only reason the star was omitted was for the parking ( which other reviews emphasized, but I did not consider it at the time of booking.) parking is $75/night. My boyfriend and I found street parking every night , and did meter in the morning( 4 hours cap , starts at 7am) but overall everything else was an ease/ clean. House cleaning missed clearing the garbage under the desk both nights, but the room was well made up each time. We didn’t try any food options but it was nice to have it available .

Loved this hotel!!! 🥰 Due to being a rewards member, they automatically upgraded our view, gave us late 2pm checkout & $15 off our bill for eating in the restaurant!! 👍😃🙌 Very nice room!! ♥️ Bellmen were very helpful and kind. 🙏 Only complaints were that our room was right next to elevators, so more noisy. Would’ve preferred room further down. Also they charge $91 for valet parking which is not optional, so that adds a substantial amount to the bill. 🫤 Would stay again for sure though because it is such a great location for walking to Union Square and feels safe!!! ♥️♥️

Absolutely loved the king corner room. The wrap-around windows showing the view of the city was really lovely. Bathroom window was an awesome bonus. I never heard any other visitors, as a light sleeper this was very much appreciated. Pool and hot tub were clean and perfect temps. Front desk was incredibly kind and helpful. I wish I had gotten the name of the girl who helped me, she was so so sweet. Breakfast was pretty good, although I would've liked a few more options. Scrambled eggs were absolutely delicious.

Service was spot on!
- 3/5
The staff was friendly and check-in/check-out was easy. However, I would not recommend the valet parking. They lost our keys both days we used the valet service. The first night it took over 30 mins to get our vehicle. We also had some items being held by the bell attendant and they were misplaced, and luckily found, but it took them again 30 mins to find them.

Great Hotel to stay! 4 stars because of an expensive parking and misc fees that you need to pay when checking out

I wanted to extend my stay another night, I payed $275 for the first night, and they said it was an “upgrade to stay in the same room and not have to check out and check back in” and I didn’t mind switching rooms, then they charged me $540 for the 2nd night when I could’ve just checked out for a couple hours then checked back into a new room for almost half the price. I cancelled it and the front desk lady seemed irritated.

- 3/5

- 5/5
Excellent hotel. I have visited San Francisco in numerous occasions and, for price and value, this is the best hotel in downtown SF. The restaurant could benefit from a wider choice of menu, but there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Recommend the Indian restaurant Amber India. Great food and excellent service. For a quick bite, try The Chieftain Irish pub by the corner.
- 5/5
My go to when I stay in San Francisco. Easy Uber lane and also convenient for local family to stop and drop-off people and bags or pickup. Easily arranged late check out for our late night flight which was extra helpful as well this time.

Hotel was nice as were the employees. However, i had reserved 2 queen rooms months prior and only one was available when we checked in. They did give us a $200 room credit for the restaurant. That doesn't go far in San Francisco but it helped. The hotel was convenient to the Case Center where we attended Laver Cup.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the front desk. The service there felt cold and unhelpful, which set the wrong tone at check-in. Overall, the room was fine, housekeeping was wonderful, but the front desk service definitely left something to be desired.

We had a good stay at The Intercontinental - good property and good location for visiting the city. The pool wasn't working which was a disappointment and the staff offered us free breakfast instead. $40 resort fee isn't great and the discount of $15 in the overpriced bar wasn't worth much :) The lines at the lobby were long and the bed wasn't super comfortable and the mattress needed replacement.
- 5/5
We had a large king room with outstanding views of downtown SF, even view from the bathroom! Beautiful hotel in a walkable area for restaurants. We will return!

The concierge was incredibly kind and accommodating when I requested a cake and a card to surprise my husband for his birthday. They went above and beyond, arranging a large card with a heartfelt birthday message and a delicious cake. It made the celebration truly special, thanks to Chief Concierge Bill.

- 5/5
Very nice hotel and centrally located, perfect for a business trip.

Great stay great costumer service highly recommend
- 1/5
The front desk service was disappointing. We checked out on July 26 and were told at that time that we had a $15 daily credit during our stay. I asked why no one had informed us about this at check-in, as we could have used the credit. The staff member simply responded, “Well, I’m telling you now.” This level of service and attitude is unacceptable and certainly not what one would expect from a 4-star hotel.

Some of the best customer service I have ever encountered! The hotel looked great and had important amenities that were all well maintained.
- 3/5
I prepaid for our room, but host made me feel like a low class imbecile for asking to use my debit card for the incidentals charge via Apple Pay. I’d stayed in 7 hotels (including The Venetian) just days prior and it was never a problem, once. I explained that I was all prepaid, my physical card is missing, and Apple Pay is the exact card I’d used to pay online - plus offered a hard copy of my full number, expiration and security code, and he still refused with nose shoved in air. He said I could use Apple Pay when I checked out (??) and paid for any incidentals, but not for the check in. I had to borrow my son’s debit card in order to get the room I’d ALREADY PAID FOR. Then he looked at my son like he was an imbecile, too, and examined his license for about 30 seconds. Next, this place is full of rude guests who cut you off in line and pretend that they didn’t. Happened to me twice! Worst part is the required valet that costs over $100 and they take 20-30 min to get you your car. Good luck if you’re in a hurry.

Nice and clean

I felt like a real celebrity property is beautiful stayed for pride weekend and although it was a lot of guests there personally I had a great experience. Beds were so comfortable. I will definitely be back!

Thank you for everything!! The stay was amazing! Great customer service!!!!
- 2/5
My room wasn’t ready after check in time. They then gave us a different room on a higher floor but I booked a city view and I got the freeway. I would have preferred the lower floor with city view. There was broken glass scattered in front of our door and my son got a piece of it in his foot. I told the front desk and no one cleaned it up. Ever. When I checked out it was still there. I was then charged an “urban fee” that was never discussed. This hotel I’m sure used to be nice but has not been managed properly I’m assuming in the last few years, seems pretty recent. Staff was nice.

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The gentlemen who helped us with our luggage were absolutely outstanding! This was exactly what we needed for our stay in San Francisco. From having enough towels, to a great view of the city, to a quiet atmosphere to sleep all night. The air purifier/fan was the perfect touch. Thank you!

To make matters worse, I was charged twice for the deposit. This billing error caused unnecessary inconvenience, and I’m still waiting for a proper resolution and refund. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and courtesy from the front desk team. I hope management addresses both the customer service issue and the double charge promptly to prevent other guests from going through a similar experience.

Beautiful room and view. Our only complaints were a whistling sound heard 24/7 in the room and the pool which was advertised as heated was ICE COLD and we couldn’t tolerate swimming.

The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. We had asked for an early check in so that we could check in before our daughter's SFSU graduation ceremony at Oracle Park. We were pleased when we arrived an hour early and were able to check in. The front desk clerk was very helpful and gave us some bottles of water which was a nice surprise. There is also lemon/orange water available in the lobby. The rooms were nice and spacious. Beds were suuuuuuper comfy- those pillows!!!! The hotel parking was $80 which way more expensive than if purchased online at $45, so I say to definitely add it when you reserve. That was the ONLY issue we had with our stay- we were under the impression that it was $45 either way. We ate at the bar on the first night and it was pretty good for late night eats. The cheese platter was just
