The water bottle filling stations near the bathrooms on the lobby floor are a fantastic feature that I really valued. But I only discovered them right before checkout. Nothing against the bottled water options for sale on site, but if there are bottle filling stations it would be great to know because I add electrolytes to my water anyway and use my own water bottle to cut down on waste. So I really value having the option to refill my water and cut down on waste. Other than that small detail the property was absolutely fabulous!

The room name said it's a suite. So I was expecting there to be two rooms, i.e. there's a door in between the bedroom part and the living part of that room, but there wasn't a door. It was very open. It would have been better if there was a separate room with a wall and door.

Amazing place to stay. We got in at 10 AM from our early morning flight and checked in to simply drop off our luggage only to be surprised with an our room ready. We were so happy, for we got to nap for 30 minutes before exploring the city. Customer service here is top-notch.

For a large hotel, in the heart of a touristy area, it was very quiet. The elevators were efficient even when my convention let out 1000 people at once. Having water stations and a small market with a microwave was really helpful when we didn't have time for a full meal. And being across the street from a grocery was super helpful also. Additionally, when I requested foam pillows because of an allergy to feathers, they initially said they were out of them, but 30 minutes later I received 2. This saved my night (and money as I would have had to go purchase a pillow for the rest of my stay). One of the two beds was a little worn in; dipped in the middle. However, I really have no other complaints. I have been travelling a lot recently and this was a very comfortable stay.

I strongly advise against considering this hotel for your stay. The staff is terrible and deceitful. We made and paid for a reservation for a room with two beds, but when we arrived after a long journey with two children, our room was not available. The receptionist, Max, insisted that we cancel the reservation ourselves. After a brief conversation, he told us he would take care of it and assured us that we would get a full refund. However, he misled us, as he canceled the reservation citing that we didn’t show up, and now we only received 50% of the room cost back from http://Booking.com. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible… Stay away from this hotel! I strongly advise against considering this hotel for your stay. The staff is terrible and deceitful. Very slow check in. We were put in a handicapped King room that I did not request. The mattress was horrible. We had club access and at no point did they mention that Friday - Sunday nights (weekend) it would not be open at night throughout the booking process or when we checked in. We were given a business card that had the schedule but nowhere on that card that it clearly state ( club closed on Fri/Sat/Sun nights. So disappointed after coming from an all day Napa/Sonima tour expecting to get a bite to eat prior to returning to our room to shower and go to bed for tours the next day.

We had a beautiful corner room with a beautiful view. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. My room was ready when I checked in which was very appreciated as we were traveling with my 87 year old mom. I felt very safe as The Marriott had security and you needed you hotel key in the elevator to get to your floor. Overall, we had a very good experience. The bell man was very helpful with directions and showing us how to get to the Warriors game on public transit. The $100 dollar fee for parking my car was ridiculous. I feel like if you are paying for a room, parking should be free or at least at a reduced rate.

Agreed at check in and had Expedia call— they couldn’t get through and the manager over-ruled and charged us $1,900 WHEN THE STAFF ACKNOWLEDGED THEY WERE OVER-SOLD AND WE WERE DOIGN THEM A FAVOR. I don’t like how people already pay a good amount of money for the stay and we still had to pay EXTRA for parking this hotel has 0 parking unless it’s valet parking and for people who have big cars like us the charge for valet was 200 a night which is ridiculous. This hotel should have a parking lot for all of its guest . Not just valet parking .

The location was good as we were able to walk to the Giant's game and to SFMOMA. The room was fine. It was an average room that you would expect if you were staying at a chain hotel. I booked through Booking.com and was given a rate inclusive of taxes and resort fees. When checking in, the front desk added a required $30 "hotel food and beverage credit" to our room rate and said we could spend $20 of it a the hotel restaurants. The prices at the in-hotel "Grag & Go-Mission St. Pantry" were high- $9 yogurt, $12 sparkling water, $10 still water. So the $20 didn't go far. Additionally, if you want "enhanced wifi" the hotel charges $19.95/day Valet parking is $95/day. I recommend parking across the street from the hotel instead. We paid $35 for overnight parking.

I especially loved spending time at The View rooftop bar—sipping cocktails while taking in the breathtaking San Francisco skyline made for unforgettable moments. Have stayed in this Marriott every Christmas. This room was disappointing. Not huge issues but not what I would expect from a Marquis. There was a metal closet that squeeked and slammed shut every time it was opened and it was just set against the wall. The lighting was insufficient. The faucet was too tight and made a grinding sound every time it was turned on. Air conditioning was almost nonexistent - thankfully the windows opened. Good: All the elevators were working with little wait. Restaurants were open regular hours it appeared. The floor we were on was quiet. Water refill was available but no recycling waste in the room. Check in and out was easy. Good location. It just seems the overall quality of your rooms has gone down.

I stayed at this hotel and while the room itself was fine, the valet and customer service were extremely disappointing. At 3:30 AM, during an emergency, it took over an hour for valet to retrieve my car. Throughout the process, the staff had a very poor attitude and showed no urgency or empathy for the situation. This was by far the worst valet and customer service experience I’ve had and seriously impacted what should have been a smooth stay. Staff Support was awful. The desk associate amd Manager(Parwinder Kaur) were very rude and difficult to deal with. I experienced almost an hour of interrogation from both women who constantly asked me for a confirmation code for my stay. This is in addition to me providing my Driver's license and a receipt. I had to finally resort to contacting Hotels.com to inquire about a confirmation number. After asking the manager Parwinder for assistance, she approached me aggressively, raising her voice and drawing attention to me with other customers looking on. This was absolutely the worst experience I've received since using Hotels.com. I truly feel this was a discriminatory act. After this experience, my wife and I will not consider staying with Marriott Marquis again.

The most egregious situation I experienced was the day after my check-in, I was in a wedding. We had multiple rooms for guests of the wedding, and the grooms had booked a large suite (Elite members) to get ready in for their entire wedding party. They put everyone's name on the room so that we could get keys at the front desk (the elevators only work if you key up). The day of the wedding, I realized my key didn't work so I went downstairs in my pajamas because I was attempting to get up to their suite to get my hair and makeup done. The front desk man immediately started verbally berating me because I didn't have my ID. I said, sir, I'm literally in my pajamas???? And I'm a guest here with my own room, why would I need to show an ID again? It was very obvious I was in bridal pajamas. He immediately was so aggressive with me. I totally understand hotels have policies and I am happy to abide by them but to start the conversation so aggressively was crazy. San Franciscans truly are a different breed of human. Also, they don't take Apple Pay in 2025. Bizarre experience, terrible people, would never recommend.

When we checked in our room we saw that is was on the 4th floor of a 39 floor building that was placed very far from the elevator, which made it feel like a ridiculous cruise like atmosphere to get to the room and we discovered that the room had shower curtains in the bathroom. When we went to the front lobby to try to change our room to one with a sliding glass door for the shower we were told that the standard king beds don’t come with this feature and that Expedia had misled us, and that to get what we expected we would need to pay an additional $150, so this made the new total $491. This hotel definitely does not warrant this price point in SF, we don’t recommend staying here if you’ll be spending $500 a night, Additionally I want to note that our “upgraded” rooms AC was not working and that there was a pile of dirt and bugs in the room and the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. Don’t stay at this hotel.

When I checked in, the front desk attendant said that they didn’t have any more king rooms available and offered me a queen room. I declined. He then took quite a long time to find one. Meanwhile, many other guests were being checked in while I was standing waiting. The room he finally gave us was quite small and had engineering and mechanical equipment in it. Clearly someone was working on the room. After a few minutes in the room while my finance was on the phone with the front desk person, the mechanics used a key card to open the room. The front desk person didn’t know what was going on. When I get back downstairs, we had to wait for another 20 minutes while they sorted it out. I asked to cancel the reservation because the experience was ridiculous. Instead, they offered us a different room. I then reiterated my desire to cancel the reservation because I had had enough. They did. Oh, and it was my finances birthday weekend. Won’t be staying there again. Won’t recommend anyone else stay there either. Very poor overall experience.

I had a very good time at this hotel, and everything checked outstanding. Unfortunately, I had to lower the staff and service score to just good because of the service at the roof top. Without a smile or introducing herself the server took the order, and then stated "I need a credit card or room number", and so I thought: "we don't use 'please' anymore?". Probably not a huge deal, but enough to be noticed. Thank you everyone else for the great service!

The room was very spacious for a hotel in San Fransisco which was nice and it was so easy to make our way around the hotel. The only thing that put me off the overall stay even a little bit was the woman working the valet desk had the worse attitude and was insisting that I still had to pay the mandatory $91 valet fee even though I’d already prepaid for it through the app. I understand that maybe she misread my room charges but her attitude towards the whole situation was so off putting.

This hotel is HUGE, but still had extremely good and small hotel level service. We arrived early, and thankfully, had a room ready! Our room on the 28th floor was the biggest I’ve seen for a standard room in a downtown hotel. It was modern, comfortable, and was very quiet! Our view was stunning, and the elevators for us up quickly. Gym was the best I’ve ever seen in a hotel! So many new machines. The destination fee is a bit of an annoyance, but it was easy to use the $20 room credit. We often picked up dessert before we headed back to our room. Safety was also top of mind here. We felt extremely safe with the hotel security team explicitly visible, a nice perk in the SF downtown area. We will definitely stay here again when our travels bring us to SF!

But let’s start: The check in starts late (4pm); the parking is already sold out by the check in time (maybe from being occupied by guests from previous days or very limited spots); the check in line is huge (I felt like I was in Las Vegas); the bar close 00:00, so if you have somewhere to go and just got to your room 5:30pm and rush to get ready, you probably wont be able to go to the bar before you go out nor when you come back around that time; They also mess up with reservations (room w/ king bed or room with two beds, they will give you whatever they have); They won’t reply Expedia messages either; The location is kind noisy (like a train track sound every few minutes) and felt a little dangerous.

Love Marriott properties, this one was nice. Room was mostly clean, (all the typical surfaces and areas were clean) the top of the shower had was coated in dust, there was some sort of vent/exhaust in the shower, if you looked inside it was caked full of dust and definitely hasn’t been maintained in a while. Fantastic location, close to public transit, great food, and coffee. Room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Only issue (kinda big) is the valet only $90/night parking. We ended up using the Hearst Parking center nearby ($35/night) instead. I get that it’s common in SF for bigger named hotels to charge a lot for parking, but just because it’s common doesn’t make it right. Didn’t outweigh the positives though and we’d definitely stay here again.

The hotel and room are terrific. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5: i just returned from Eu, 5 weeks & 4 countries. Never did i carry a purse or a wallet. Now here in SF, (the high-tech capital of the world), it began when they wouldn't let me tap my phone credit card to check in. The bar carded me and wouldn't take my Federally assigned (digital) id card to order a glass of wine. Im over 50. Odd that im more high-tech than SF! Cmon Marriott- leys keep up with the rest of the world.

Was a nice hotel, though on hotels.com it stated "parking available" but once we checked in realized it was valet parking only and it was over $90 a night. It would have been nice if the listing had noted that, as we had to park in a garage a block away and lug all of our belongings with us. The parking garage was $44 for 24 hours, so notably cheaper, but added to the cost of our room, wasn't a great deal. The hotel also charge a $33 destination fee, which was also annoying and an extra charge. Would not recommend for those on a budget as the cost of the room just kept going up.

First and foremost, the traffic in the area was terrible, which made arriving at the hotel quite stressful. However, I believe the hotel could significantly improve the check-in experience by providing clearer and more specific instructions regarding parking and the check-in process on their website and at the entrance. Upon arrival, I struggled for 1.5 hours trying to figure out where to leave my car and how to proceed to check-in. The signage was inadequate, and there was no clear guidance on where to park or how to access the lobby. I had pre-selected parking as an additional service on the website, but upon arrival, I found that there was no parking available. I also opted against valet parking after waiting in line for over 30 minutes without any movement. In the end, I had no choice but to drive to a public parking lot just three minutes away from the hotel. This added unnecessary stress to my arrival and took away from the overall experience. I understand that traffic conditions are beyond the hotel's control, but providing clear instructions and better signage for parking would go a long way in alleviating stress for guests. A detailed guide on where to park, how to access the hotel, and what to expect during the check-in process would be
