Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its location, friendly staff, and cleanliness. Many guests appreciate the complimentary happy hour and the unique touch of record players in the rooms. However, some guests find the rooms to be dated and the parking fees to be high.

Every staff from front desk is not nice. Room service is great! The room is clean!
- 4/5
Over the course of two different days, the hotel misplaced my parcel twice. When I approached the front desk to ask about the process for locating a missing package, the staff member on duty (Hispanic male working Sunday evening 6/7 around 9:00 PM) was unprofessional and dismissive. He told me there was "no process," for lost parcels suggested I come back in the morning or ask housekeeping, and when pressed further, simply told me to "ask Amazon" if it couldn't be found. For a 4-star hotel, losing a guest's parcel and responding with such a dismissive attitude is completely unacceptable. Fortunately, we asked again later and received a much better response. A front desk lady and her manager (who had silver hair) were very helpful and successfully located our parcel. I appreciate the clean room and the manager who eventually resolved the issue, but management needs to address the lack of professionalism and basic customer service training with their evening staff.

Excellent service! Clean and great location

Most comfortable bed and friendly helpful staff. Rather expensive.

Hotel was small for the price we paid! Bathroom the plug in Was on the other side of the bathroom!

High quality bed and room design. No breakfast included. Breakfast option is a regular restaurant that’s not great.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and professional including the valet staff.
- 4/5
The restaurant and gym were both excellent additions and helped make our stay even more enjoyable. There are, however, a few things worth noting for future guests. Tea and coffee were only available during the morning service, and there was no kettle or coffee machine in the room, which was a little disappointing. Our package included breakfast, but this was provided as a voucher towards breakfast in the restaurant rather than a fully inclusive breakfast. Guests should also be aware that a compulsory 20% gratuity is added, along with additional local San Francisco charges, which increased the final bill. Parking was another surprise. While parking is available, we were not expecting the cost of approximately $75 per day plus taxes, so it is worth factoring this into your budget before booking. Overall, this is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location with great facilities, but it is worth being aware of the additional costs that can arise during your stay.

Eclectic rooms (with record players), complementary happy hour and morning coffee times. Close to Pier 39, Chinatown and Little Italy, which all have great tours available. We would definitely stay again!

This is a great location to stay in you want Fisherman's Wharf. The staff are helpful. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Complimentary coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. Easy walk to all the activities in the area.

Nothing The wrong promise to give the bay facing room, the staff & their unwillingness to help with anything, the fact that they are not welcoming to the toddlers!

Hotel was in a perfect location for all the pier and excursion pick up activities that we plan (Napa Valley tour and Alcatraz). The room was clean and comfortable. The other areas of the hotel could be a bit more updated and refreshed -- carpets, furniture, elevators. One elevator was not working and there are only two which caused a bit of a wait when going to and from our room. Front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating :-). People should be told about the stairway -- if you go in, you may get locked in which is a bit of concern and a security issue if you are not aware. Overall, I would stay there again based on the clean room and friendly staff and location.

Great location and friendly staff!

We had a wonderful time, free upgrades room!

The property was not what I had expected as a Kimpton but staff made up for it. GM was wonderful helping out with car rental issues. The man doing the valet was beyond walking on water. Thanks to both of them for all they did Not what I expected for a King Kimpton. .

Well located if you are interested in spending time down along Fisherman's Wharf and you want to have easy access to Golden Gate Park and the surrounding area. Very friendly and helpful staff, surprisingly quiet location and the room was very comfortable.

I have stayed at this property twice now, I like the location, find the staff very friendly and helpful and I will continue to book this location on my SF trips in the future.

The location was very bad and dangerous at night. Parking nearby was dangerous.
- 2/5
Location is very good, and the overall hotel quality is pretty good, but way too expansive, even for SF standards. Too expansive for what you get overall. Breakfast is a bit of a joke: they sell you a room with "breakfast included", and that means you will get a $50 voucher to spend at the embedded restaurant which is ABSOLUTELY NOT ENOUGH for three people. Also, what's even worse, is that the voucher is the same as if you are 2 or 3 people (per room instead of per person). Which means, if you are 3 people the included breakfast means an orange juice and a bagel, no more than that. SOLUTION: avoid getting the included breakfast package which is advertised and not really included.

It's a quick walk to Fisherman's Wharf so great location. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet for being in the middle of the city. Room was very clean and the furnishings felt current (not dated). Would 100% stay here again.
- 2/5
Room was dark and very very loud. No breakfast and coffee was okay but only available for a short period
- 4/5
Only one working elevator

Comfy beds and room was big. The restaurant was fantastic Very basic hotel for what we paid. Bedside power points were broken so I couldn’t charge my phone, no other outlets available, I was told ‘they won’t be fixed’, asked for a bowl and cutlery - no. Aircon was very noisy. They take US$200 per night security hold which is HUGE!! All in all I was quite disappointed.
- 5/5
Great hotel, clean, the room was very cute and extremely comfortable bed. Location was perfect.
- 4/5
Room where clean but dated. Excellent location. Staff was very attentive and helpful.
- 4/5
Views were not great. Breakfast was a little pricey and it was barely covered by the $50 daily breakfast voucher. We were also surprised by the additional $50 per night room fee. They were kind enough to wave two nights of the fee. Hotel was clean and staff were friendly.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
I love this hotel so much! Very friendly staff and excellent amenities. I especially liked the in room records and access to a live plant to keep in your room! The on site restaurant is excellent as well!
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 3/5
There was no charging station as advertised on Expedia. The photos are better than the actual property! I was hoping for a dog relief area for a pet friendly property! It is what you get for a conveniently located hotel near Fisherman’s Wharf- small and expensive!
- 4/5
Friendly staff, slept good and place was pretty quiet. No coffee makers in room so have to head down to lobby each morning with sleepy eyes. Good food downstairs at restaurant. Overall a great stay
- 4/5
Nice location
- 5/5
We had dinner at the Abaca restaurant. If one can make the time, I encourage everyone to dine at Abaca. You will have a wonderful experience with the burst of delightful flavors.
- 5/5
great location and it was very clean. Wish it had some sort of continental breakfast, even just a small selection would be nice.

Clean and served as a nice stay. Parking is expensive. There is a cheaper option across the street in a parking garage. Walkable to all Fisherman’s Warf areas
- 3/5
Clean rooms, good location…a bit overpriced though and the parking for each night is totally overpriced.
- 5/5
Great modern hotel - we had a premium room with 2 queen beds which was very spacious. Complimentary wine in the evenings was good as was coffee in the morning. Ideal location for walking around many areas- perfect for ferries to Alcatraz and Sausalito. Nice cafes nearby. Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Loved the spacious rooms, the location and the happy hour. Friendly staff. Small fitness centre with weights, bikes and treadmills Not too soundproof between rooms, can hear kids running and yelling

- 4/5
Everything was great except 1st night had no power from 9-10pm and 4-5am. They did have a generator but was a little difficult. All and all great location easy to get around and very nice staff.
- 3/5
The rooms are a good size and clean. The front desk staff and valet are not hospitable.
- 3.5/5
The staff was very friendly, and the room was comfortable, quiet, and had nice ambient lighting and great blackout curtains. They were also very kind to leave us a gift for celebrating our anniversary. If you want Fisherman's Wharf it is very well located and reasonably priced (just don't bother with the upgraded view). Nice to have an afternoon happy hour. And I loved waking early and walking down to Pier 39 to have the sea lions to myself before the crowds arrive. They were very playful at 7:30AM! The upgraded view wasn't as good as hoped when we paid extra for it. Couldn't see the Bay as promised. Looked out at a parking lot with Alcatraz in the background. The other thing is that since you are in Fisherman's Wharf it is mayhem with families overrunning the lobby. That's on me for staying at Fisherman's Wharf when I wanted it less frenetic, but I wanted to be near the water. Also, the public areas, while nicely decorated, were in some need of some touch up paint. It tried to be a bit hipster with the record players and vinyl in each room, but really it's a family hotel.

The entire hallway outside our room smelled intensely like dog poop. We did not have a pet. There were a lot of guests with dogs at this hotel. We complained about the smell and asked to be moved. They claimed they were booked and could not move us. When we told them we would give them a bad review on Expedia, they immediately found us another room. The new room and hallway did not smell, but we were turned off by the original odor and the way they handled us.
- 4/5
I liked the fact you supplied tea/coffee in the morning however I think it should be available till at least 10am for those guests who are on holiday
- 5/5
Rooms are really nice and spacious, super comfy beds and the location is easy to just get outside and enjoy SF.

- 5/5
The room was very spacious and so clean. The staff we all very pleasant and so helpful. We had a great one night stay.
- 5/5
Record player was a cool touch
- 4/5
Property was overall satisfactory. Well located, staff polite and knowledgeable but room was a bit overpriced for the standards and amenities that are offered.
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay, walking distance with full bar and restaurant in lobby
- 5/5
Very accommodating staff for our family and service dog. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. Very comfortable room and housekeeping was prompt and friendly.
- 4/5
The room was a good size and very clean. It also had air conditioning which was a plus. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was good. Near transit and attractions
- 4/5
It was okay, we thought breakfast was included, it turns out, we only get $50 voucher on the total amount , should have stayed at Holiday Inn Express around the corner with free breakfast When booking, it says breakfast included, it’s not you only get $50 voucher , and the portions of what you order in the hotel restaurant was so small
- 3/5
Sent to sleep with sound of the bins being emptied between 9-10pm
- 5/5
Primarily booked this hotel for location. Close to Fisherman’s Wharf & North Beach but also close to Embarcadero & Golden Gate. Wonderful hotel. Area around it is clean & safe unlike downtown. Staff are very friendly & attentive. Room was big & clean. Couldn’t really fault hotel other than no kettle in room. People from Britain & Ireland do enjoy a cup of tea so kettle was missed. In saying that there is complimentary tea & coffee in morning from 6-9, but would have loved a cuppa in the afternoon.
- 5/5
Ideal location, large rooms and a bonus happy hour every night from 5-6!
- 5/5
Great location, nice amenities
- 3/5
no breakfast options
- 3/5
Valet staff was terrible. The hallways leading to the room have a bad smell. The fitness center is in very bad condition. Room was generally clean but all looks old and in bad need of a coat of paint and a general refresh. Would not stay here again
- 3/5
It would be great to have a coffee maker in the room instead of having to go to the lobby. Staff was okay. I asked to shorten my stay by a day, which the manager approved but then he wouldn’t respond to the Expedia emails to confirm. I felt like I was getting the runaround.
- 4/5
Great location!
- 5/5
took a chance on this hotel after i saw someone post about it on tiktok and it did not disappoint. easy check in, complementary wine/water/coffee, WiFi, it was clean, got fresh towels, and the staff was super sweet and helpful. thank you for an amazing stay.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, incredible restaurant and servers one of the highlights of our trip! Very comfortable bed and cozy rooms.
- 5/5
Excellent location, have stayed here twice in a month. Highly recommend
- 5/5
The location couldn't be better one block from fisherman's wharf, everything you need!
- 3.5/5
It took us 28 minutes to check in.
- 4.5/5
The location very close to fisherman wharf/ PIER 29 Good location and unique interior
- 3/5
It was difficult to find this hotel and we received a wake up call when we didn’t have one ordered and we could hear everything happening in the halls. Noisy.
- 5/5
The room was very clean. The bell person was very helpful with getting our bags to our room. The valet was also very helpful to us. We would stay again if the opportunity arises.
- 1/5
My bathroom was dirty room loud as ever n black out curtains sucked
- 5/5
Close to the wharf, and nice hotel.
- 5/5
Clean, nice employees, nice lobby/lounge area, good style, excellent walkable location We had a view of recycling/garbage area
- 4/5
The staff was amazing. For the amount of money spent I just have a few things to point out. Upon entry the walk way is very warm…this wasn’t a hot summer day so maybe the air in that area needs to be monitored. Fifth floor smelled of old cleaning rags…turn off. AND the signage needs to be more visible upon arriving to the hotel. The connected restaurant signage was more noticeable. At least put the name on the valet boards. It’s quick to ride by and causes stress for out of town visitors
- 3.5/5
Location , staff . Windows in room dirty outside. Breakfast ok but could do with wider variation - tries a bit too hard to be fashionable.
- 5/5
Staff were super friendly, informative and helpful. Quick check in & check out process. Room was clean and honestly couldn't hear any noise either from the road or from any neighbors. Housekeepers were kind and also very friendly, attentive every day. Impressed with the restaurant in the lobby, also impressed with amenities available and provided. Close enough to all tourist main hub attractions and transportation options.
- 5/5
We were not able to stream movies. It wouldn’t allow us to cast the app to the screen. It would be nice to have tvs that have preset apps like Netflix, Disney already on there for guests to be able to login. We ended up watching whatever was on tv.
- 3/5
Staff not very friendly, amenities are extra. Room is good size and clean.
- 5/5
Excellent location very clean hotel.
- 4/5
The hotel location is absolutely great. 5 minute walk to fisherman’s wharf. Parking is not great, the hotel charges $75 a night for regular vehicles and 99 for extra large. Room was clean and so was the hotel. Be aware this is a pet friendly hotel.
- 5/5
I enjoyed the records, record player, robes, shower, Social hour, breakfast and everything with the room.
- 5/5
Great room and very helpful staff
- 5/5
The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and helpful with supper recommendations. Everything about this day was great, From happy hour to extra bottles of water to location! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Room was ok but i got charged 2× for hotel deposit and staff were unapologetic and refused to help much saying i must call my back when ny bank cant do anything. Their systems are backward im atill waiting for my money
- 5/5
Cean, perfect location and the staff (everyone) was absolutely fantastic. Very kind, courteous and treated everyone graciously and respectfully. I highly recommend this hotel for everyone if visiting San Francisco.
- 3/5
Better staff service at check in
- 5/5
Great hotel and the surroundings area was awesome as well. You are near everything and right across the street is a place called Surisan that serves amazing food. Expensive but great and tasty.
- 5/5
Bottle of wine and excellent hospitality
- 5/5

- 4/5
no coffee in the room
- 5/5
Wonderful staff, very quiet, nice room
- 5/5
Staff was helpful and the amenities were great.
- 5/5
I would highly recommend and would stay here again in the future.
- 3/5
I found this extremely irritating. Also the A/C / heating unit is obnoxiously large and loud. But over all. Good.
- 1/5
They put us in a terrible room. One floor above the garbage cans. Open the window and all you see is trash. Disgusting. In the morning I couldn’t open the blinds bc the garbage men were there. No one should have to sleep near that and pay!
- 5/5
Great location, staff and amenities
- 5/5
The hotel is really well located for walking around and tours. Loved the decor as well.
- 5/5
Spectacular location and so many great features and thoughtful touches. We loved our stay here.

- 5/5
Everything is great except parking. Valet parking $75+tax everyday is very very expensive.
- 3/5
Staff was very nice, but hallways and room felt very dated and spooky. Parking needs some help, there should be a self park option.
- 4/5
Great location!!
- 5/5
Customer service was awesome. Great location, supior staff, and wonderful room.
- 3/5
Cleanliness, maintenance of the property and rooms could be improved. First room was given had a heater that was broken. Maintenance came and "fixed" it. Next morning no heat again. Got a second room where the heater worked but was extremely noisy. Tired of having to complain. Stayed at this property about 2 years ago and liked it. This time it really had gone downhill. Elevator and other areas looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in a while. Parking costs are prohibitive. So went elsewhere for that. Every staff member encountered seems totally not into their jobs. Technically I should have rated it below average.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 2/5
I really wanted to like this place and thought I would based on reviews I read so I was disappointed that it didn’t meet my expectations. The lobby was pretty run down and smelled like someone had been smoking. The person at check in was not very welcoming or friendly. It took 10-15 minutes to check us in. We booked 2 rooms and asked at the time th reservation was made that our rooms be connected or on the same floor. They tried but couldn’t accommodate the connection, which was fine, but then they put us as far away from each other as possible. This is a very wide hotel with several hallways so I wasn’t thrilled that it took about 3-4 minutes just to walk from room to room. My reservation came with a free bottle of wine for each room, which he didn’t offer, and I ended up having to ask for twice. The rooms themselves have been updated and are nice, but the beds are not very comfortable. The location is good for visiting tourist locations but seems a bit sketchy at night. Overall I was disappointed and wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
- 5/5
and the bathrooms are a treat. I love a great hotel bathroom and this did not disappoint! And check out the Food! There are a lot of great little gems in Fisherman’s Wharf and this is one of them. I I will definitely be back and any time I have guests from out town they will be staying there. To all the wonderful staff.. thank you for making my night really special - from a happy guest and local area resident
- 5/5
This is a great location to stay at great amenities, a great, happy hour and coffee service in the morning.
- 5/5
Everything was great! Room clean and heating worked well (December stay). Room was clean everyday.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff is delightful.
- 5/5
Great location, design and fun hotel. Safe parking, very clean comfortable rooms nicely appointed. Spacious bathrooms and good amenities. Staff is very friendly and personable. Vinyl record theme is fun but player didn’t work. They will replace it if you ask - overall one of the best places I’ve stayed in SF over many years of traveling here.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly stuff, nice happy hour
- 5/5
Friendly staff and cleanliness.
- 4/5
Good location, great staff. Room was comfortable except for the noisy heater and lack of a kettle in our room.
- 5/5
Excellent service from the staff and grwat location.
- 5/5
I don't know what this free bottle of wine comes from. They do however have a happy hour between 5-6pm and free beverages. The rooms are fine, bed is very comfortable, and good TV. Room has a refrigerator, coffee in the lobby. Exercise room with treadmills. Close to shopping and streetcar. Close to restaurants
- 5/5
Breakfast is excellent but expensive, we had a $50 daily breakfast allowance and even though we didn’t have a lot by the time they add on 3 x taxes 🙄 we still had to pay another $20 daily. But room was large with a very comfy bed but pillows were too soft for our liking. Great en-suite with really nice toiletries. Overall a great stay in a brilliant location
- 5/5
Clean room. Super accommodating staff. The hotel has a very boutiquey feel with an intimate lobby. Loved their 5pm Happy Hour. Other hotel lobbies feel cold and distant but this one was very cozy and conversational. I had 13 and 10 yo with me and they loved the hot cider every day. Location is walkable to many places. Definitely would stay there again.
- 4.5/5
Location Low flow shower heads. Takes you an hour to get the shampoo out of your hair
- 1/5
Dirtiest hotel I ever stepped in
- 4.5/5
All of the staff was wonderful. The record player in the room was such a great bonus. Location and food was excellent! A little more food options at the hotel Cafe would be nice. But was still great.
- 5/5
Great hotel! We had such a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend. Love that the room was bright and clean, had a record player, and that we could borrow a live plant for our stay. The complimentary wine was a surprise bonus!!! We will definitely stay again if in the area.
- 5/5
Great hotel with excellent service and a delicious restaurant.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed this hotel. The lobby has a modern, cool vibe that doesn't feel like every other hotel. The 5-6 pm happy hour with complimentary drinks was great and it felt festive with so many guests there. The room was very comfortable and had great storage and counter space so we were comfortable with 2 adults and 2 kids. The bathroom was very nice. We loved the idea of checking out records and having a record player in the room, but the records were not in good condition and the quality of the sound on the record player was terrible. I was surprised at how much I loved being able to check out a plant to bring to our room! It made me feel more relaxed and at home. My kids said they felt included because they had hot chocolate and marshmallows set out with the morning coffee. I would definitely stay again!

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location was perfect to access pier and public transportation.

Good location walking distance to places Everything else is bad from services to staff attitude. Overall a not good value and a pleasure stay. Wouldn’t come back or recommend.

Good location, good value, great staff.
- 5/5
Great location and great staff. Will do again!

Happy hour 5-6, records in the room along with a record player, live plants optional to house during your stay, GREAT location! We loved it!
- 5/5
Fantastic stay at the Kimpton Alton. The room was clean, spacious and stylized well. We personally loved having the record player (we are vinyl enthusiasts), and it was a really neat option to rent them from the front desk. The location is walkable to everything near Fisherman's Wharf (like Ghirardelli Square). Staff were super friendly, made sure we had everything. Definitely would recommend staying here and would happily come back!
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel located in a very safe area and lots of activities to do.

Clean room and conveniently located. The quality of the breakfast food was great. The service at breakfast was extremely slow.
- 5/5
Room was clean and spacious. No complaints
- 5/5
Room was clean!!! Staff was very friendly and it was close and walkable to all the attractions

- 1/5
Paper thin walls, shades don’t work so waking up at 6am to the blinding light. Very expensive for what you get.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable Nothing
- 5/5
Nice location
- 5/5
Staff was great
- 5/5
The restaurant and social hour was pretty awesome.
- 1/5
Very bad experience overall. The pillows were terrible and caused shoulder pain, and the rooms smelled strongly of weed. The place is extremely overpriced, and when we mentioned these issues to the front desk, they showed no concern at all — they did not even look at us and just stared at the monitor. Definitely not recommending this place.

Great atmosphere!
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and well maintained. Great job
- 3/5
The rooms need an upgrade they are very worn out, for the price the could do better in keeping the rooms fresh and updating them.
- 5/5
This was the view from our room. Stunning!
- 5/5
The staff is wonderful. The gym is terrible. Smells like the carpet needs to be replaced in the hallway on the 5th floor.
- 5/5
The restaurant downstairs was amazing and a great place to brunch on Saturday AM as well as cocktails every night. The staff were over the top nice and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful weekend at your hotel and my family and I will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Ideal location for fishermen’s wharf.
- 4/5
I had to request the VIP benefit and did not recieve a room upgrade. The hotel is cute and they have cute touches like a record player in the room and a record library. We were there for two nights. The room is walking distance from Fisherman's warf restaurants and easily walkable to other locations downtown. The parking is $75/night---that is outrageous to me but of course we paid it. The on-site restaurant is filipino inspired and breakfast was great but expensive, about $150 for two people. I see that there was a breakfast option when booking, not sure what it covers but maybe you should explore that. Room is comfortable. Liked the robes. Staff are pleasant.
- 5/5
Loved everything about the property and location
- 5/5
Fishermen's wharf are steps away easy to walk anywhere. to far from the cruise port but only about 5-7 minutes drive. Try the waymo driverless taxi.
- 1/5
Awful! Thought I was getting a better experience by paying a little more to stay here over the neighboring Hyatt and boy was I wrong! Smells musty, rude staff, wall paper peeling off the walls, toilet not functioning, bathtub seemed ancient and unclean. Didn’t have my room type available. Staff was entirely unhelpful and seemed very stressed. The valet guy was nice but other than that it was just a money pit for no reason that needs renovation.
- 4/5
Limited parking and pricey.
- 5/5
Love the hotel decor and the staff was very helpful... The convenient store in the lobby was well thought out and stocked... Would definitely stay again! Was able to see so many sights.
- 5/5
This is the second time we have stayed here and we really enjoyed it. We were able to store our luggage since we arrived early. Staff is very friendly and rooms were nice and clean. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. We look forward to our next trip in SF and will definitely stay here at the Kimpton Alton Hotel.
- 5/5
Great Dj and staff and food
- 4/5
The cleanliness and the location is excellent. For dog owners this is a pet friendly hotel. The restaurant is Michelin guide and it’s well recommended. Only minor one is the mandatory/amenities fee which is quite steep. Overall it is recommended and if u look for cheaper rate then surrounding of the area is aplenty to look for.
- 5/5
Good Filipino restaurant
- 5/5
Felt very comfortable. Some of the sink faucet handles werent fully secured. But otherwise everything was nice. They also had a free happy hour every day, which was a nice surprise.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Overall a great experience.
- 4/5
Great location
- 5/5
Great location and short walk to wharf rest and shops. Excellent customer service and social hour was great!
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Advertised as free parking. Got stuck with a nearly 600 dollar bill. Parking is 75 dollars a day and they will charge you a full day even if you leave for the airport at 6am.
- 3/5
The room do not look like the pictures, they are very old and not that maintained
- 5/5
Had a lovely stay at the hotel with my husband. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Free water everyday and morning coffee were nice touches . We enjoyed the hotel happy hour most nights too.
- 5/5
Loved the short walking distance to the pier, shops, and restaurants. The staff was super friendly and accommodating.
- 5/5
This location was perfect. It was also so nice clean, amenities, wine cocktail hour everyday, and was upon welcoming too. Great place! We would come back!!
- 4/5
everything was fine except for all the extra fees they make you pay at the checkout, bogus fees
- 3/5
Low ceilings, bad finishes, broken hardware in the bathroom, dirty mirrors, constant marijuana smoking wafting into the room.
- 4/5
Convenient location for the Wharf, some renovation done but still seemed worn.
- 3/5
Loved the vinyl records and Victoria in the room. The room was adequate but the view was terrible. Great location and the valet staff was excellent. There was no coffee in the lobby one morning because of an event. You would think they would have 2 coffee pots. The restaurant was excellent but the iced tea was $5 PER GLASS. No coffee service in the room. The value for the price was not worth it.
- 5/5
The staff and reception were wonderful and handling all my needs. They checked in a few times during my day to see how everything is going. Love that.
- 5/5
Love the Kimpton. First time staying in one, and this has only bolstered my view of IHG properties. I wouldn’t usually stay in what’s probably the most touristy part of San Francisco, but this hotel was very nice and it’s one block away from where it gets very busy. We had our dogs with us and it was nice to have the Maritime Park just a couple blocks away to take them to.
- 4/5
It’s pretty quiet and the restaurant inside is pretty good. My only turnoff was the three taxes you have to pay which I get local taxes, and maybe resort fees. There’s another tax fee that doesn’t specify what it’s for. To top it off they take it from the deposit(which takes more than three days to get back).
- 5/5
Friendly staff and staff at front desk very friendly
- 4/5
The hotel is in an excellent location. Near the Fisherman's Wharf and other activities. There were quite a few restaurants within walking distance. The onky drawbacks were the shower setup without a full closing door (it allowed all the heat to escape) and the water from the bathroom taps was murky for teeth brushing.
- 5/5
All the little extras that made me think “thank God there is one business left that values customer, service.
- 5/5
We loved how close we were to everything. Hotel staff was excellent.
- 5/5
Great staff, location, and services.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Pleasant stay in fishermans wharf with easy accessibility to the piers and attractions. Hotel was clean and comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Gym is really small. Hotel is conveniently located 2 blocks away from Pier 39. Lots of places to shop and eat.
- 5/5
The staff are accommodating k
- 5/5
We appreciated the on-site parking. The in-hotel was wonderful & we love the record player with vinyl check-out library.
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the happy hour in the lobby where we received helpful suggestions from the bartender
- 5/5
Great stay for the pier
- 5/5
We had an amazing stay! The staff were all very kind, friendly and helpful. Great location. I wouldn't hesitate in booking again at The Kimpton! 👍❤️
- 4/5
Very nice spot great location. We always stay there in SF
- 4/5
Safe and walkable
- 5/5
Great location & on sight restaurant was wonderful. Will stay again.
- 5/5
Room was comfortable, clean and well appointed. Hotel is in a great location for all the sights. Staff are friendly and helpful. Happy hour is a great addition. Only improvement needed is the shower!
- 5/5
Great hotel! Very close to Fisherman’s Wharf! The record player and vinyl provider in the room is a nice touch!
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel and great staff.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Great location! Loved that it was dog friendly. Loved the restaurant downstairs.
- 5/5
The hotel is located just minutes away from fisherman's wharf with a parking garage about 4 min away. The staff there are great and the hotel is perfect if you plan to be around the city.
- 4/5
Loved that it was close to everything. Most stuff was a 10-minute walk or less. Staff was great! The hotel was clean. The rooms are on the smaller side, which was fine other than getting up from the bed because there was not much walkway between the bed and the wall. The air conditioner was really loud when running.
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and nice
- 4/5
It was great that it was right near Fisherman”s Wharf and the trolly. Great location! Some fun features like a lively lobby happy hour, free fruit infused water in the lobby, and record player in the room. Comfortable beds and shower.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! The staff was so nice and helpful.
- 4/5
Good city hotel clean and comfy beds
- 4/5
Most amazing Thai restaurant 5 mins walk away New Thai Elephant. Not so good:- Corridors looking rather tired and marked. Breakfast is actually an $50 credit - 2eggs and 1 slice of toast was$14 before taxes / sausage, bacon and 1 slice of toast $21 not enough left for a drink after taxes. Our room was the longest walk away with only central lift.
- 5/5
The hotel is super cute! We loved the location and how clean it was. I will for sure stay there again.
- 4/5
Quick trip to the city, it was within close proximity to the wharf and attractions.
- 3/5
Location is pretty good but the room was a little worn down and the noise was noticeable due to proximity to muni.
- 5/5
I didn’t receive any VIP Benefits however I rated it highly for other reasons. First the beds and bedding are wonderful! I slept so good because of that and the temp control allowed for cool sleeping which I need. The bathroom shower was good pressure and lots of hot water. They offer free happy hour which I didn’t take advantage of but is nice they offer. Overall great stay and very convenient to walk to many attractions in area!
- 5/5
The Staff was great. The Manager was a step above.
- 5/5
They offer a social hour where wine and beer are complimentary.
- 3/5
Cleanliness of the room could’ve been improved. Housekeeping did a poor job during daily service.
- 3/5
Staff was not friendly, restaurant menu was limited and area was not very safe
- 5/5
stayed at this property for two nights and had a fantastic experience. The amenities were amazing, and the staff was incredibly efficient and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary bottle of wine at check-in — such a thoughtful touch! The bed was very comfortable, the room was spotless, and the location was perfect — within easy walking distance of everything I needed. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
- 5/5
The property is cleans and the staff is great!!
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Very close to water front activity
- 5/5
Hotel was very clean and in a great location. Within walking distance to Fisherman's wharf/Ghirardelli square, half a block from the F Streetcar, and very close to bus stops to go anywhere in the city. Free coffee in the morning and free glass of wine in the afternoon. Highly recommended if interested in seeing Fisherman's wharf area.
- 4/5
Lovely hotel with nice touches like use of records and taking a plant to your toom

Excellent hotel! Staff were nice and helpful! The happy hour was excellent. The complimentary coffee and tea was nice each morning. Parking was easy, and the record player in the room was the best! I would highly recommend this hotel!
- 4/5
The hotel was clean and safe. The breakfast is delivered to your room and is nicely presented and of good quality.
- 5/5
Staff was Great and had a great happy hour
- 5/5
Lovely lobby, quiet rooms, lovely staff
- 5/5
Great place to stay, loved the Filipino inspired food at Abaca
- 1/5
Floor 1 the window was at the level of the pedestrian sidewalk - you could only see people's legs
- 4/5
Very average property and below normal Kimpton standards. Like the area, its all rather dumpy. Avoid rooms facing street and garbage bins. Was woken up several times between 430 to 530am.
- 5/5
This was an amazing find! It’s our first time staying at Kimpton Alton, and our stay was nothing short of spectacular! The staff were warm and very accommodating. The design of and amenities in the room are so cool, too! It was a relaxing and restful stay. Not once did we deal with any hallway or next-door neighbor noise, which is very rare these days! What we loved the most are the consistent air conditioning and the shower water pressure—also something rare these days! We will definitely book here again next time!
- 5/5
Great location with easy access to Marina, Embarcadero & North Beach. Scooter friendly!
- 3/5
I stayed in many Kimpton this one is not close to other places with 4.5 stars Maybe a 3 start. Disappointed
- 4/5
Solid hotel, friendly staff, decent area
- 5/5
Was a great environment, felt safe. Close to many restaurants and tourist attractions.
- 4/5
Staff very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Enjoyed the extra attention to details. Complimentary evening happy hour, take a plant to your room to nurture during your stay. Cleanliness very friendly housekeeping staff. And excellent location!
- 5/5
Amazing stat and staff. So polite and accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel for your next stay
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Loved the free coffee bar and happy hour
- 5/5
Dog friendly, clean, walking distance to the wharf, friendly and polite staff, wine hour!
- 4/5
Staff was great.
- 5/5
It was good to stay for family holidays.
- 4/5
Clean tidy hotel.
- 5/5
Loved location and staff were friendly.
- 5/5
I disliked no coffee machine in room
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean, they had a great daily happy hour at the hotel with great music and free wine.
- 5/5
We loved that it was very close to the pier. It was clean and quiet for the most part though at times we could hear a dog barking but we knew that this location accommodates pet owners. I am allergic to pet dander and had no issues.
- 5/5
When checking in we each received a bottle of wine for each room. We loved the 5 o’clock free wine. All of the staff were friendly and the rooms were great. The beds were very comfortable.
- 5/5
Free coffee service and although we didn’t partake nice that they have a wine bar happy hour.
- 4/5
Clean. Great location.
- 5/5
Very clean and great service
- 3/5
Didn’t realise it didn’t have a bar and even more disappointing that coffee only available for couple of hours in the morning Would of liked that in the room
- 5/5
The staff were wonderful. Dean was very helpful in getting us a private drive to Napa.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay here!
- 5/5
Amazing location, very clean, staff super friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Great customer service !
- 4/5
Convenient to my work site.
- 4/5
Our stay here was very pleasant overall, great staff and great rooms! Very clean and very comfortable! We had an issue with our black out curtain which was fixed while we went out to dinner ! The breakfast was pretty good a little pricey but luckily we had vouchers with our stay . The cafe never had any change either which was a minor inconvenience. The valet was super friendly and fast ! The location was pretty decent too , was able to walk to our Alcatraz tour and exploratorium tour . Tons of food nearby too ! Over all 4.5 / 5 stars ! Would definitely stay again next time we are in SF !!!
- 5/5
Everything was great, thank you.
- 5/5
Wonderful!
- 5/5
Very good location and excellent customer service. Room was clean and comfortable

We love Kimpton. Always good service and well-maintained properties. The only negative this trip was a large wedding party that was so loud we had to call security 3 times. The group was moved to the lobby at 2:30 am but returned at 4:00 am to wake us a 3rd time. The hotel discounted our bill and I understand this was not their fault. I wish they had left security on the floor to monitor the loud rooms.
- 5/5
Long, solo weekend prior to a conference in town. The Alton was perfect! Great location to walk to many things, very clean and comfortable and safe location. San Fran gets a bad rap, other than driving through some rough streets to get to the hotel from the airport, I walked all over and it was not at all like the few streets we drove by. Much cleaner (typical level of cleanliness for a city of this size and some neighborhoods were excellent) than your led to believe from the news and extremely safe. I was out walking around from 9am to 7pm most nights and only took a car at night because it was cold. The Alton was a great location and the restaurant there is incredible. Would stay there again.
- 4/5
Loved the location. Rooms were clean. Bedding was phenomenal. Slept better than I usually do. Coffee and tea service very disorganized. Hot water not hot. Front desk very friendly. Hotel bar and restaurant not to our liking, Asian food. Bar with limited selections.
- 5/5
This was our first family trip to San Francisco and I couldn’t rave enough about this hotel. Great location, staff was phenomenal, rooms were clean, and overall hotel appeal was top tier. If you are ever planning on coming to San Francisco and want to stay close to fisherman wharfs, this is your place. The staff and valet service was so helpful and friendly. We absolutely loved it here. Thank you so much Kimpton Alton hotel. You guys are the BEST!
- 5/5
The property was very nice. Aesthetically pleasing and staff was nice. Unique vibes. Will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Very clean, just wish there was a complimentary breakfast.
- 5/5
Great location for visiting Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, Cable Cars and many wonderful parks, neighborhoods and restaurants . Great restaurant at the property made for a lively atmosphere nightly as you entered the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel for a great value, beautiful room and memorable stay in San Francisco!
- 5/5
A great place for a good sleep in the middle of Fisherman’s Wharf.
- 2/5
I am not happy with the front desk as how the lady communicate with to me without respect. I couldn’t think for the 5 star hotel has bad customer service. I have been traveling places and staying at different hotels I haven’t seen any hotel staff telling their guess “ You are asking too much” regardless how much I asked I am a hotel guess and I expected to receive the request in a nice way not by yelling because I am only 18 years old and they treated me differently.
- 5/5
Felt welcomed and received gifts at check in.
- 5/5
Excellent service - super friendly, hotel is great for access to the wharf - only downside is the local area is a bit downscale. But we would stay there again.
- 5/5
I really appreciate the unique aspects of this property, delicious restaurant downstairs and how clean and quiet the rooms are. I will be back!
- 5/5
Amazing stay at the Kimpton Alton! The hotel is modern, very clean, and the rooms are super comfortable. I especially loved the vinyl player in the room — such a nice touch. The restaurant downstairs, Abacá, was so good we ate there twice. We also enjoyed the complimentary drinks at the lobby from 5 to 6 pm, and the vibe was always great, with a DJ playing vinyls and creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The location is perfect, close to Ghirardelli Square and other attractions at Fisherman’s Wharf. Overall, a fantastic experience. I would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Hotel clean, safe, walkable.staff was great.
- 5/5
Clean hotel, didn’t like the valet attitude. We’ve shown up in our Mercedes G Wagon and valet rushed to service. We showed up in our Toyota this time and valet didn’t acknowledge us, we had to approach him and still he ignored us. That’s not how you treat people. Other than that we enjoy staying at this hotel.
- 5/5
The hotel is very well maintained and staffed. The location is perfect for exploring the city by foot. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
We enjoyed the rooms. The beds were very comfortable. The walls seemed soundproof. There was city noise, but nothing crazy. We enjoyed the daily happy hour in the lobby. The record player was a nice touch. The staff was amazing upon check in and at other times during out stay. Very nice!!
- 5/5
Great location, staff is friendly and the room was quite comfortable. Great shower, definetly a plus.
- 5/5
Great location, great service, very comfortable rooms. Beds and pillows were super comfortable. They have a great happy hour from 5pm to 6pm everyday. You get a bottle of wine upon checkin. They are walking distance from a lot of the major attractions and the concierge Dean arranged all our tickets upon checkin.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. The staff is super accommodating. When I asked where I could get a coffee before breakfast they delivered a nespresso machine to my room. The rooms are super modern & clean, beds very comfortable, windows must be triple paned because we did not hear any nose from outside. The hotel is in a part of town that is busy but in a good way. You can reach a lot of the city's main attractions by foot, street car, boat etc. They have a very nice restaurant that was buzzing as well. And a happy hour with wine and beer. Highly. recommend staying here, we will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Nice hotel in fisherman's wharf area
- 5/5
Dean the concierge told us some money saving tips, and arranged big bus tour at a slight discount.
- 3/5
Check in staff was not very welcoming. Stood in Kimptons in other states and had a very different experience.
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 5/5
Great location and service. Lacked an outdoor lounge area and happy hour area was small and had no vibes.
- 4/5
Great location and excellent service. Room was a bit small and bathroom sink didn’t drain very well. Overall the place was great though and would stay there again.
- 3/5
Old hotel…. Food is atrocious
- 4/5
Friendly
- 5/5
great location, happy hour is a nice touch. rooms are standard - no full length mirror in rooms.
- 5/5
Great happy hour !
- 3/5
We paid around $1,000 for a weekend, which felt quite steep for what we got. While the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean, the bathroom and amenities could use some updating. For this price point, I expected a more modern experience.
- 4/5
Love the hotel. The restaurant is very good. Staff are inviting. Fisherman's Wharf is a 5 minute walk and also the tram.
- 5/5
Perfect location for everything we wanted to do while visiting San Francisco. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Would recommend to friends and family!
- 5/5
Wonderful bed and quiet
- 5/5
Great service!
- 5/5
Excellent hotel with great location to Fisherman’s wharf and cable car terminus
- 5/5
Love it!
- 5/5
Friendly staff! Great location!
- 4/5
Loved the staff and location. Every staff member friendly and helpful. Only major criticism: our room was below street level with passersby walking by our transom type window, which had very transparent shades. It felt weird and unnecessary. Otherwise, a really nice stay.
- 5/5
Great location, impeccable service, and quiet hotel. 24 hour gym is a nice amenity. The hotel design was the highlight of my trip. Really glad I picked this hotel!
- 5/5
We love the Kimpton brand to begin with and this hotel is top tier. The staff here are amazingly friendly!!! The location is perfect as home base for exploring the city. Bed was very comfortable!
- 4/5
Lovely hotel and great location. Just wish they would have told me I could have a coffee massive on request rather than me not having coffee in the morning. Everything else super!
- 5/5
Every employee was wonderful and helpful. The benefits of having water each day, restaurant, and breakfast on the property and people aware that you are there all the time. The property felt safe and the rooms were very comfortable.
- 5/5
Great location and friendly service.
- 5/5
Loves that it was walking distance to all the tourists areas and minutes away from other attractions
- 5/5
Highly recommend!
- 2/5
A disastrous experience. Truly one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in many years. There were issues in the restaurant with being served the wrong items, total lack of knowledge / training on the part of the staff and then when I thought that I may have left a valuable in the room after checking out, it took over a week to get in touch with anyone despite constant calls, voicemails and emails. Phone system is dysfunctional and there's a complete and total lack of leadership and organization at this property. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.
- 5/5
Area is very walkable, close to restaurants and bars. Short enough drive to either bridge, Golden Gate and/or Bay. Valet parking cost (incl. tax and tips) seems high, especially since the parking garage across the street has a great in&out self park option for half the price.
- 5/5
The area feels safe, especially compared to other parts of San Francisco. However, it can get quite noisy at night—particularly if you’re staying in a city-view room. These rooms are more expensive and face the back of the hotel, overlooking the Hyatt. If you’re a light sleeper, be warned: the 4 a.m. garbage collections are loud enough to wake you up daily. Bring earplugs or choose a room away from the street if you value your sleep
- 5/5
Great place right by the wharf!
- 5/5
This was located near all the activities by the Wharf, which was perfect for dining, walking and exploring. Extras that made it a great stay were the record players, free bike rentals, happy hour and great staff. Rooms were great and beds comfy. Would highly recommend.
- 5/5
nice
- 5/5
Excellent hotel close to Fisherman's Wharf. Service was great and room was very comfortable. Hotel only a couple of minutes from Fisherman's Wharf and lots of good restuarants in area.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 5/5
Staff went above and beyond to make my daughter’s stay memorable.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay. My daughter wanted to stay longer! It's clean and modern with nice amenities: free coffee in the morning, happy hour, gym, and pet-friendly. Very conveniently located near public transportation - getting downtown was a breeze! It's also a short walk to Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square. Would stay again!
- 5/5
Property is lovely and close to all the good dining spots. Would definitely recommend to others and would love to visit again soon!
- 5/5
Good restaurant on site, as well as complimentary happy hour and cool record player in the room. Good value and comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Great place to stay with family
- 4/5
The hotel itself provides great comfort and cleanliness in a modern and stylish setting. The housekeeping was daily if required however we opted out of this to every second day. Bed was a good size and bedding was comfortable. Bathroom was large and a nice area with complimentary shampoo, conditioner etc and hairdryer to also use. Plenty towels too & dressing robes. There was also heating / AC in the rooms which was easy to use and very handy when we had returned at night and were a bit chilly. We stayed with our 8 year old who commented on the good WiFi! There was no tea or coffee provided in the rooms which was disappointing as this is available in the lobby at certain times. We did request a kettle for the room and then asked for tea/coffee which they did oblige with and also topped up when required however we would normally expect this to be in the rooms. Staff were mainly friendly and helpful however on check out we had 3 males at valet stand and watch my wife struggling to get her case up the stairs and not offer to help. Also disappointing for a hotel of this standard. Overall we would recommend this hotel due to its location, comfort and cleanliness. We enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Hotel is in a great area close to lots of great restaurants and attractions! Area can be a bit loud at times so just something to keep in mind!
- 5/5
Great check in. Front desk lady I believe her name is Yvonne was amazing and very helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Stormi checked us in and Louise helped w the bags. Very nice made us feel welcome right away. It stated w/them and the rest of the staff was so nice. The location is awesome. As soon as you walk out of the hotel the mini is Rt at across the street. So you are able to take the electric bus to all locations. But it’s not a bus stop w/ppl hanging around. It’s the 1st to the Ferry, the Ballpark, Palace of Fine Arts….definitely with staying here. Happy hour is lively and free. Can’t stress enough how great location was. Public trans outside the door, 3 car rental locations w/in one block.
- 3/5
I paid $380 for parking and extra fees and taxes for three days. i think thats a bit excessive.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, great staffs, very convenience for tourists and visitors, and don't forget to enjoy their happy hour complementary every day bar.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff !
- 5/5
Loved everyrhing about our stay from the location, to comfortable bed and bedding, and the phenomenal service.
- 5/5
We had a great time at the Kimpton, staff was very welcoming and quick to help with any requests.
- 5/5
Excellent service, would stay here again.
- 5/5
Good location, helpful staff.
- 5/5
Had a really great stay here. Loved the vibe of the place, really fun decor. The little touches like the record player in the room or the fact that you can borrow a plant for your stay just made me smile. We only had breakfast at the restaurant abaca but it was delicious. Really nice place.

I absolutely loved my stay at Alton! They offered great services like complimentary coffee and tea in the morning and fresh fruit infused water during the day. They also had a happy hour in the evening which was amazing! The hotel was so aesthetic itself and so clean. I would love to stay there again going back.

Vinyl player in room was a good touch.

they didn’t have any conference rooms to take a business call. they were rude and short at the front desk. when i asked for a room change because we were in a dungeon, i was offered an upgrade for an additional cost.. they do not do room service. just not worth the price!

This property used to be part of the old holiday inn fisherman’s. Kimpton has done a fantastic update and remodel. Comfy bed, nice bathroom upgrades used to have a dennys in that property, now a very nice restaurant.

I liked the property. Streetcar stop right across the street. Public transportation in the area is excellent. An added bonus, each room has a record player and a few LPs. More LPs at the front desk to switch. The hotel is in a great area. Lots to do. I recommend the place.

convenient and pretty friendly

Front desk was very slow and felt understaffed. Waited for 15 minutes for someone to finish a phone conversation before I was called to the desk so that I could retrieve my luggage from the storage room. There was a line of people behind me also waiting. More staff should have been available to avoid this since it was prime check in/out time.

Lovely location, easy walk to fisherman’s wharf and into little Italy.

It was a fun place to stay , I loved it so much that I am having hard time to point out that the bathtub was not really clean and I saw some hair there around the tub but no stains . I cleaned the bathtub myself before showering , but besides that it was a very fun place to stay .

Awesome place, walkable, great dining options

the only drawback was the room we were given: an accessable room, even though i requested otherwise. there was no vanity or even a countertop in the bathroom. just the sink, wall mounted, with the tiniest rim. a tiny corner table, and a tiny cart for towels to be put on. no towel bars or hooks of any kind to hang a towel on, aside from the handrails. i can appreciate how important this is for someone who needs it, but at least one place to put things would be good for those of us that don't. just a hook to put clothes or a towel on, at the very least. other than that, it was such a nice property! walkable to everything, including abundant transit. and the restaurant! love filipino food!! highly reccomend a stay here!

Very clean and convienent property. Just wish I would have known about the $42 per night property fee.

Great property in Fisherman's Wharf, close to restaurants, cable car. Very convenient and walkable area. Evening happy hour is always enjoyed at Kimpton properties.

Not up to par for a Kimpton - amenities were pretty basic and hotel needs a refresh.

Also, check out the restaurant! More of a sharing style but delicious!

The Alton was the perfect place to stay in San Francisco! It was within walking distance to great areas and Abaca (the restaurant in the hotel) was fabulous! Everyone was really accommodating as well.

Great and comfortable stay. Would definitely return

I picked this place over others and paid more because it looked nice and I love Kimpton usually and I was supposed to get some sort of membership perks from hotels.com. Got no perk and maybe I just got a bad room but was very meh. Basically an English basement room. Just really underwhelmed. Gym is very small. Everything very meh but the restaurant.
