Reviews
The hotel is praised for its central location near Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39, as well as its friendly and helpful staff. However, many guests express dissatisfaction with the cleanliness and condition of the rooms, citing issues such as dirty carpets, mold, and broken fixtures. Some guests also complain about the lack of amenities and the extra charge for parking.

- 3.5/5
The sink is outside the main bathroom
- 4.5/5
Clean, easy process and great location.
- 5/5
Great location and great parking
- 5/5
great location near Fishermans wharf
- 4/5
It’s not super close to the wharf so be prepared to walk.
- 4/5
Perfect walking distance from wharf and public transportation
- 5/5
Parking was great, safe and clean. Property was nice and located in a great spot. Would stay again for sure.
- 3/5
Small room with not much space to store luggage. Very tired and basic room. Bed was good.
- 3/5
Room was okay.
- 4/5
Yes and yes. Friendly and helpful staff.
- 4/5
It is a really nice hotel in the Wharf area, great to visit San Francisco and discover some of their best district. Staff has been super helpful and nice The rooms for two people feel a bit small.
- 0.5/5
None The room stinks. I had terrible cough because of the smell. The room is so small. Hard to climb up to the 3rd floor.
- 4.5/5
Location ….
- 3.5/5
Small room but bed was comfortable
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff, great location.
- 4/5
Next time I'll ask for bottom floor as climbing stairs, although well protected, was too much for me. Only one chair in room at desk so one person had to sit on bed to watch TV.
- 0.5/5
Was never able to be checked in by the attendant
- 3.5/5
No have more space for parking.
- 3/5
yes
- 5/5
An amazing staying at this hotel
- 2/5
Location is the only good thing about this place. This place was OVERDOSED IN DISGUSTING CHEMICALS. I didn’t even bother unpacking anything and slept in my clothes and my clothes stunk of EcoLab grossness mixed with Fabuloso from the office checking in that all glummed onto my clothing I was wearing. I had to wash my clothes two times to get the stench out. And now that I know this place is owned by Wyndham and said to me this the chemical they must use I will never stay at Wyndham hotels. Absolutely atrocious.
- 4/5
Yes it was good
- 3.5/5
The rooms are open to the outside (the window is right next to the sidewalk)
- 5/5
very clean room, good size, very quiet at night, perfect matress. very nice staff. perfect location !
- 4/5
The location was perfect, about 19 minutes walking from the main attractions, 15 minutes walking from Pier 39, 20 minutes from Chinatown, 15 from Little Italy. Parking was only $25 per day and that’s a plus. Room is tiny and so the bathroom but we didn’t mind
- 3/5
Everything was just ok. Nothing to get excided about
- 5/5
Helpful staff and absolutely the best location.
- 3/5
El hotel es muy básico, la habitación está bien para dormir y descansar pero no hay que planear mucho más. El baño no es tan limpio pero en promedio por el precio está bien.
- 5/5
Nice area. Everything was close, you could walk to the ocean.
- 5/5
No complaints.
- 3/5
Staff was great room was just not what I expected from a Wyndham hotel. Bed was very comfy and it was quieter than I expected. BUT… The doorway was broken in the bathroom. The sink faucet was loose and an attempted fix with 3 inches of caulk. No elevator and HORRIBLE parking lot. It’s a great location, close to the wharf so my fault for not researching better
- 3/5
Good location. Dated rooms.
- 4.5/5
If your room is ready early just let your guests stay in the room without charging $40 this was frustrating not a deal breaker.
- 3/5
Area is super convenient. There's a Walgreens across the street, and descent places to eat about 3 to 4 blocks away.
- 2/5
The location was good The bed was as hard as a rock I couldn’t sleep I felt like i was sleeping on the floor
- 1.5/5
Good location Our room felt like a basement. People smoked cigarettes right outside our door all night. Wifi didn’t work for 2 days
- 5/5
Good room close to Fisherman's Wrarf at a reasonable price by SF standards.
- 5/5
Parking was tight. Limited spaces. Had to hope for availability. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay.
- 4.5/5
Close to everything Nothing
- 4/5
Parking was 25 a night and there was no where else to park, tiny, tiny room
- 4/5
The room we stayed in was a little cramp for 3 people. But clean and served its purpose for a comfortable sleep at the Wharf.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff :)
- 5/5
It was our first time in the hotel , it was very confortable and it is near the pier 39.
- 5/5
This was a great hotel. Very close to all the attractions.
- 5/5
The fridge was gross, the back tray was full of water and gunk
- 5/5
This was a repeat stay and it is very clean and comfortable. Nothing
- 4/5
Good location!!
- 3.5/5
Good hotel location and parking, but unfortunately paid. Very small room for 2 large beds for 4 people.
- 4/5
Perfect for what we were looking for. Less expensive option right close to everything
- 4/5
This property is walkable to the Taylor St cable car turntable and to the Fisherman's warf. We also walked to the pier where the tour boats for Alcatraz leave from. Parking is cheaper than anything else I saw in the area and safe. I read where some of the public lots had break-in problems. Parking spaces are limited.
- 4/5
It was close to the waterfront. Walking distance to grocery store which is convenient.
- 1/5
Did not stay there we canceled out the trip so why was billed
- 5/5
Prime location
- 5/5
The desk staff were great. Our cleaning staff were great. It’s a TRAVELODGE and it’s exactly what I needed centrally located in fisherman’s wharf it’s a great place to be a traveling family using as a base.
- 5/5
It was good hotel for a family trip. We enjoyed that it was clean they offered snacks and coffee. The hotel is a short walk to fisherman’s wharf, Lombard street and local shops and restaurants. Parking is limited inside hotel but there was always a parking space available when we arrived after going out. I highly recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 4/5
Good location near Fisherman Wharf and Pier 39. Very few parking spaces but we got there early in the morning and left the car before checking in. Very basic room but clean and fairly quiet. Nice staff. Reasonable price for the area. A few good breakfast restaurants nearby and lots of entertainment and restaurants for the whole family.
- 5/5
Very well situated motel; easy access to transportation and Wharf.
- 5/5
Sidewalk accessible.
- 2/5
The place is run down
- 3/5
The location worked well for activities. It's walking distance to the Pier and there's a Walgreens right next to it. They also let us store our luggage before or after checkout. There's a charge to park there, but at least you can park. The room was VERY tiny with no room for moving around. Bathroom was super small too. The temperature was difficult to control. We should have caught the 2 beds were doubles, not queens. The floors creak and light comes in through the window all night. For the area the price was affordable, and we felt safe.
- 5/5
Central location easy to check in and out and nice room
- 3/5
Just ok , old property , staff was nice good location
- 5/5
It was convenient, clean. I liked it, best bed.
- 3/5
Very noise hotel. Room had to much stuff cranbed in it nobody in the offic e in the ecebung or the next morning
- 5/5
Brilliant location, spacious room, would definitely recommend
- 1/5
The area was nice but I never got my security deposit back.
- 3/5
This property is old, just like most older hotels in SF.. I could see dirt in the shower & having a sink near a broke down microwave & refrigerator is un sanitary.. The carpet is dirty & needs to be replaced...
- 5/5
Very limited parking (tiny lot) but we arrived around 9:30 pm Monday night and we're still able to get parking. Super close to fisherman's wharf and Ghirardelli, at a reasonable cost. Rooms were clean and comfortable
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
No problems here even the manager knew us lol
- 4/5
We liked staying here for one night. Would do it again
- 4/5
Limited parking - but managed to get a space no problem. Easy check in and out with friendly staff. Clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Sadly the floors above were squeaky so it kept us awake but otherwise, well situated, clean and well presented.
- 5/5
You want a good sleep for that 8 hours and a warm enough shower and safe enough location - This place provided all that
- 5/5
The management was helpful and extremely nice !!
- 5/5
Felt safe my entire stay, theres a walgreens right across the street, very convenient. Close to everything, perfect walking distance from everything.
- 4/5
The room itself was surprisingly decently clean. The bed was pretty firm but not uncomfortable. The parking lot was very small and cramped, but if you’re comfortable backing in it’s not an issue. It’s not the BEST area of San Francisco, but also not the worst.
- 3/5
A last minute booking due to flight disruption, this served the purpose of a fairly basic place to sleep and start our road trip the next day.
- 1/5
The advertisement indicated parking. When I arrived there was no parking on the location and was told that I would have to park on the street. I cancelled my reservation and found a Courtyard nearby with better facilities. Will never use Travelodge.
- 5/5
Clean room.
- 4/5
This hotel is clean and the housekeeping is excellent but it’s an older hotel so if you’re going to be out and about all day and just need a clean comfortable place to sleep it’s great! It’s right in front of a busy intersection but there are tons to do in walking distance. Only a 10 to 12 minute walk from fisherman’s warf and 25 minute walk to china town and little Italy.
- 4/5
When I booked this property it had good reviews about the area and cleanliness. I didn’t realize it was more of a drive up motel. We were on the first floor (which I didn’t love because anyone could just walk up and try the door handle) but we were also tucked into a corner. It was a pretty good area with walking distance to the wharf, Chinatown, and Lombard street. The room smelled clean, had clean sheets, a large tv, a large shower, a microwave, and a mini fridge. Sink outside the bathroom. The beds were a little hard but comfortable enough. The only thing I didn’t love was the carpet had a few questionable stains that looked like blood… otherwise it was a great stay for one night. We forgot toothpaste which was free of charge from the front desk and they had chewy brand granola bars from the front desk which made a quick breakfast on the way out.
- 3/5
This was my second stay. The first stay was great, this one wasn’t. The bathroom had some hair and dirt stuck to the walls and around/ behind the toilet. But the worst part was the toilet stopped working at like 10pm and the front desk wouldn’t answer. I wasn’t aware I was supposed to leave my room (a solo female traveler) to go ring a doorbell outside at night to wake someone up at the front desk.
- 1/5
Toilet had leak. Was told someone would come next morning but didn’t happen. Ended up moving hotels and it the money.
- 3/5
Parking lot too small
- 2/5
The staff is excellent. There was someone’s hair in the shower. The property is a bit rundown, but expected for the price. The real issue is that it is right in front of a really busy intersection. The noise was constant, yelling, cars, etc.
- 5/5
Very nice staff and super helpful
- 4/5
Very nice small hotel at a reasonable price compared to other motels in the area. We were very impressed with the location which is within a couple blocks of Fisherman’s Wharf, Starbucks, Trader Joe’s, cozy restaurants, the trolly car, and Walgreens right across the street. Would definitely. Go back.
- 5/5
Transport from the airport and to the cruise ship was seamless. Local food service is limited and the neighborhood seemed safe, but is relatively industrial. Recommended for an overnight airport transport to ship.
- 5/5
I thought this small motel was an excellent choice.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, close to the pier & lots of option for food near by.
- 2/5
Location is fine, close to Wharf and within walking distance. Service to check in was great. Room was extremely small, carpet dirty, restroom was extremely small. Very noisy all night- from traffic, walking from upstairs and staff doing room service on the ground floor level in the morning. Tv service was very nice. But for the money not worth it. Would of paid more for better had we known. But location was fine. And we parked about 15 feet from our room.
- 5/5
Great service. Had a delayed flight and didn’t arrive until 1:30am, called ahead of time to let the worker know. Had no issues getting checked in. Room was clean, had a smell but didn’t notice after being in the room for awhile. Coffee in the main lobby. Parking was limited but wasn’t busy so we had no issues. Was $25 plus tax each night for parking. We had an early excursion day of checkout and was able to pick up our car at 1pm.
- 5/5
One of the most convenient places I’ve stayed at in San Francisco! Great price, easy on-site parking, and a hassle-free check-in/out process. The rooms are reasonable, and the piers are just a 5-minute walk away. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Property and room were clean, the staff was so nice and extremely helpful, and it was overall a great stay.
- 4/5
Was very clean the staff excellent but not a continental breakfast it all the little coffee maker work but not sugar in the room a little disappointed on that but I feel safe and very walkable I love it
- 4/5
Clean, easy 3 night stay, but not totally quiet because my room was right in the front on the first level facing in the parking lot with walkway. First night was really loud. Also, maybe there was working being done in room above, but noise started pretty early each morning. I appreciate the cleanliness of the room, and minifridge and microwave. Comfortable bed and good desk space. I would have appreciate a do not disturb sign for my door. It was not necessary for someone to enter my room every day and provide new towels and straighten bed. I was only there 3 nights, and I would have like the option to say, do not come service my room. But nice that someone did. Thanks. Would maybe stay again because it's cheap, but likely would elect for something where my door is not facing the outside and to have an actual interior of a hotel. Was clean felt safe, and very nice staff at front desk reception.
- 4/5
The room was very tiny and the light in the bathroom was dim. There was a tiny closet to hang some of our clothes but only one small drawer and a shelf to store everything else.
- 4/5
Walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf
- 3/5
Great service and friendly people
- 4/5
Overall satisfactory. Nice man at reception.
- 5/5
The room was small, but clean, nice tv. It was walkable to all the pkaces we wanted ti see.
- 5/5
VERY DECENT PLACE !!
- 5/5
Upgrades were very good. Would recommend refurnish old furniture to match the 'nice' upgrades.
- 4/5
Busy location. Limited parking
- 4/5
The owner was very helpful and friendly. Communicated well with us. Great location, close to the main strip.
- 3/5
Needs new carpets and to be cleaner
- 5/5
Would stay again and would recommend
- 5/5
Excellent stay! Immediate hot water & room cleaning/maid service daily!
- 5/5
Rooms were small but clean. Parking was limited. Great for waking to fisherman’s wharf for various activities.
- 4/5
The hotel is in an excellent location near the wharf. Walkable to most attractions and getting transportation was easy. The traffic at night was loud but they supply the earplugs. Location was best of all and hotel was clean.
- 5/5
We ha room service every day when we went out walking and checking out the spots. View of the city was great! We would definitely go back to this hotel the next time we visit.
- 5/5
Location was perfect
- 4/5
Nice, clean and presentable plus great location close to Fisherman’s Wharf
- 3/5
Basic but good location.
- 5/5
Great central place good prices we could stay longer for less before our Alaska cruise. Shower head in the bathroom shower was WAY HIGH!!!
- 5/5
Belle experience et le personnel était super gentil
- 5/5
Wonderful property, stunning views and safe neighborhood
- 5/5
Right in the center of the Wharf. Nice clean place. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
This Travelodge is an older hotel, located right in the middle of Northbeach (fisherman’s wharf). The managers are very friendly, helpful and are very customer service oriented. The hotel rooms are small but have been updated very nicely. It was very clean. It was a great price for a 2-3 star hotel, surrounded by 4 star hotels. It’s a gem for the traveler with a budget!
- 5/5
Highly recommended. I love the staff there
- 3/5
I just liked its location.
- 1/5
Upon checking in, our room was not clean. There were no sheets on the bed, nor were there any towels or shower curtain in the bathroom. The floor was definitely not vacuumed. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful though...would not recommend.
- 4/5
Staff is very kind ! Thank you
- 3/5
We were given a senior discount on the $25 day parking at the front desk.
- 5/5
Easy and quick
- 1/5
Tv did not work, staff did not offer to move us to another room or fix it.. room was not cleaned before we got there. Door key kept messing up so they had to give us the main key to enter. Last day before we checked out we check all the drawers and under the sink and my husband found a crack pipe. I am left traumatized with this experience!
- 3/5
The staff were very helpful and attentive. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Surprising for me were safety concerns. I was approached by an odd guy one night as I was waiting for someone to come back to the reception, and was glad when the member of staff appeared. Very awkward situation but the guy left thankfully. However, the next night there was an incident at around 4AM with someone trying to break down a door of one of the guests and threatening them. I heard a woman scream. Not somewhere I would want to stay as a single female traveler again. I would choose a hotel with an indoor reception where guests are more protected. A sad reflection of SF.
- 1/5
Guests upstairs were noisy during the night. They were yelling very loud and staff didn't do anything.
- 3/5
Great location. Room could use a little TLC..
- 2/5
Ideal location
- 5/5
Very nice and helpful staff.
- 5/5
The management was very friendly and accommodating. Made foe a very pleasant experience. Location is great. Transportation and great dining options very close. For the price, a good hotel.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Room super clean although need minor repairs. Location for public transport is AWESOME. Great price for being so close to Fisherman’s Wharf sector We REALLY ENJOYED this pal e.
- 3/5
Very noisy due to traffic unfortunately....
- 4/5
Older motel type, Close to Fisherman’s Wharf, friendly and helpful desk clerk, good for one night before leaving on a cruise. Rooms were small and cramped.
- 1/5
Very small bathroom. Minimal and hard to access parking.
- 3/5
Overpriced, leaking shower head, uncomfortable small room
- 1/5
This place is run down no elevator and you have to pay for your parking every thing is broken reported to front desk and they said ok I’ll tell maintenance and nothing else occurred. Do not come here it’s not worth the Wyndham name at all.
- 2/5
The room was very small and not what I had expected from the pictures n comments. We moved to a different r hotel after one night. The staff was very kind and accommodating.
- 4/5
Easy to get to Pier 39 and places to eat
- 5/5
Decent room in a convenient area. Friendly person to check you in!!
- 3/5
I love the location of this hotel, hence why we stayed here. Just a couple blocks down there are the cable cars, little Italy, and fishermans wharf. I see a lot of complaints about how run down it is. I’ll say you get what you pay for. San Francisco is expensive, if you want to save some on room and board stay here. If you want a luxury stay, don’t. They had warm, running water, a clean bed, and a working TV. That’s all we needed since we weren’t there to hang in our hotel room. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
Excellent stay. Helpful staff.
- 5/5
The room was decent but the bed was excellent. Slept so god
- 1/5
Hotel is completely run down and in very poor repair. It is also very dirty and many things like hot water taps did not work. We had four rooms and all were in the same dilapidated state of affairs. Give this place a wide berth.
- 1/5
Felt unsafe.
- 5/5
Great stay! Hotel manager was phenomenal, so accommodating, really went above and beyond.
- 1/5
An additional charge of $25 to park at the hotel we already paid for was the cherry on top to a terrible experience. Between nothing working right, mold coming through the 5th layer of paint, carpet you dont want to walk on and A/C that hasn't seen maintenance since 1991. ***just pay the extra couple of bucks and stay at the Marriot across the street***
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful and the property was kept very clean. The only issue was the water damage and mold in the bathroom. Parking was available and the property is within walking distance to the pier.
- 4/5
Room was disappointing. Shower rod was broken. Shower leaked terribly and had to step in water getting out of the shower. Carpert was NASTY! So basty that your shoes stuck to the carpet when moving around. Housekeeping was less desirable. Room was dusty and ring in the tub. Coffee pot was filthy. Bed spreads had cigarette holes in them. The room was very small but, its a place to stay close to the wharf and very walkable!!!!
- 5/5
We had a very nice stay in this property and the manager was very nice and friendly. If we could go back again I don’t hesitate to book again in this property.
- 5/5
Amazing location, great value. Easy to access with public transportation. On-site staff manager was lovely throughout the entire stay.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, very basic services the zone is good as it’s near the piers, 7 min to Ghirardelli square walking.
- 4/5
There was a tree falling down in the parking lot, blocking the sidewalk the whole time we were there
- 3/5
Staff was very courteous, pleasant. The room was very clean. Two things I would want to see when I return: 1) some soap in the shower. Even a liquid soap dispenser, and 2) the bedding was clean but the bedspread was very old, had cigarette burns and was generally grungy.
- 3/5
Staff is friendly and helpful. But the property needs a lot of upkeep. Towel rack was falling out of the wall.
- 1/5
arrived & the hotel looked nothing like the pictures. They said they had 2 types of parking, but only had 1 type of PAID parking which was $25/night. He said ill charge you $40, still charged my card for over $50. Why is there tax on it?? & what is the parking fee for if i already booked a room? Its not for safety, just another way to scam. The rooms were DISGUSTING. dirty, hair, & who knows what the drips were splashed on everything. Black marks everywhere. We slept on top of the sheets. We were suppose to stay 2 nights but cut our trip short due to the hotel. Worst experience of my life.
- 1/5
Shocking we have pictures inside pool
- 4/5
Good location near fisherman's warf and a 20 minute walk downhill to pier 33. 27 is 5 minutes away
- 4/5
Check-in was quick and easy and the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Nice and close to the Wharf, shops and the famous Lombard twisty road but definitely shows signs of age. It is also on a busy intersection so can be a little noisy. Overall, fine for a night or two.
- 3/5
The walls between rooms could have been more sound proof. The heater was noisy. Location and price comparison made it an excellent choice.
- 5/5
The staff was so kind and helpful. Gave great advice on how to get around and always made sure we grabbed breakfast on our way out the door. Walking up to our room twice we got asked if we needed anything. Our room was cleaned every night. Property is a tad dated and small but that is typical for that part of the city. We would stay there again.
- 3/5
The best part was the staff. The woman at the desk was friendly and knowledgeable. She made the stay great.
- 5/5
Is near fisherman's wharf, easy to get to from airport via Bart and tram or bus.
