Reviews
Hotel Zelos is praised for its central location, friendly staff, and clean, comfortable rooms. However, some guests express disappointment with the resort fees, parking costs, and issues with the restaurant and bar. The surrounding area, with its homeless population and closed businesses, is also a concern for some guests.

Very clean rooms, friendly staff, and convenient location. We will stay here again on our next visit to SF

Very good
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! The only downfall was not being clearly labeled and visible from the street. I would not have guessed that we would have to enter a door that was labeled as a restaurant. To have to take another “loop” around the block, takes so long because it can’t actually be around one block, to almost miss it again, but thank God I could just back up that time. Would definitely stay again and now that I know, I know how and where to check in.

Unsafe hotel, unknowledgeable, unhelpful staff. For $400/night this shady operation managed to be 100% clueless when a member of our party experienced a life threatening medical emergency and required an AED. The staff didn’t know what that was ( first two staff contacted), then a third “thought it might be in a back office somewhere”. Absolutely atrocious for a supposedly upscale hotel. Thank God for the rapid response of SFFD. Oh, and without so much as an apology or a “we’ll do better next time”. Then on to of it all they charged us for an in room movie we never ordered ( does anyone even fall for those anymore?). Would’ve been unacceptable in a two-star establishment but crazy for a real hotel. Plenty of better, more professionally managed, hotels in the city. Avoid

We had a one night stay at Hotel Zelos to see "Phantom of the Opera" in San Francisco. The only issue I had at all was not knowing where to pull up for the valet, as there isn't a stand, but all you do is pull by the curb where is says "passenger loading" a few feet in front of the hotel entrance, and when you go in to the hotel the front desk person takes your key and gives you a slip and calls the valet. I had accidentally booked my reservation twice, and the staff I encountered was so helpful getting it fixed. Also, we asked for a late checkout (from noon to 1pm) the next day and they accomodated us. The room was clean and spacious.

I love staying here. Everyone is so friendly, the rooms are nice, the food and bar are great!
- 5/5
Right in the heart of union square, lots of shops and restaurants close buy, hotel was spotless huge rooms and their restaurant called DIRTY HABIT was exceptional for food and drinks. Nothing at all
- 5/5
I love this hotel--it's my home away from home when I'm in San Francisco. Great bar and restaurant, comfortable rooms, welcoming staff, convenient location.
- 5/5
Staff were friendly and the rooms and property was very clean! I felt safe in the area and was pleased with my stay!

Could not find the hotel do to unlighted hotel sign also no body wash.
- 5/5
The only thing that didn't quite work was some drainage/plumbing problem in the shower. I know I could've called for help, but I was battling a bad cold and didn't have the mental energy to deal with having my room and belongings disturbed. Wish it was inspected and taken care of before my arrival.
- 5/5
Great hotel and the rooms were well kept.
- 4/5
Clean room, helpful front desk, well-designed rooms/lobby, good breakfast. Location in mid Market SF is still sketchy with zombies outside.

- 5/5
Excellent location, metro and trams a short walk away, hotel is opposite Ross Store and 5 mins to Target. Trader Joe’s supermarket right next door. Would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room - but everything else was great.
- 1/5
Someone thought that doing construction in the building at 5:00 am was a great way for everyone to start their day.
- 5/5
Check in was a breeze and they even upgraded our room. The hotel was clean, staff friendly and it was located in a very walkable area.
- 5/5
The service, room, and every common area were impeccable in a way only new hotels that care tend to be. Excellent rooms, even the custom art in the elevator implied a unique class. It is rare that a hotel overdelivers. I was bowled over, value like this is rare.

The location was ok. Close to Powell street and the cable cars, but lots of homeless people, and a lot of people being drugs on the street. The staff in the restaurant are rude - wouldn’t eat there, I would eat at a cute local eatery (Taylor Street Cafe). We reported items in the room that needed fixing, but although they said it would get fixed, it didn’t. The cleaning team we very friendly.

The hotel is in a convenient location close to Union Square and Powell BART station. Staff at front desk were always kind and helpful. Room was clean and spacious.
- 1.5/5
The property was undated and clean inside. Staff was really friendly. No security. Lots of homeless right outside the door. Entry is right next to Trader Joe’s, which made for lots of homeless men and women asking for things. The pictures are totally misleading. The entry door is on the side next to the entrance to Trader Joe’s. The hotel is just the top of vacant buildings. It was the old navy building before it went out. Across the street is Ross which had to board up the broken window during our stay.

Beautiful. Will be coming back. Be good to have a bar there but didn’t really matter.
- 5/5
Large clean rooms. Good bar!
- 4/5
Great proximity to the Moscone center with a lot of restaurants around including Starbucks and Peets. Depending on where your room is, it’s generally quiet except for the doors slamming by other guest unfortunately. Staff were very nice, friendly and accommodating. Room was spacious and clean. Would recommend. BART was around the corner and bus 30 stopped literally in front of it.
- 4/5
The Zelos was a real nice place to stay near Union Square in San Francisco, very clean and nicely updated. It was also close to public transit options that got us to the SF Ferry Building and Chase Center without any trouble at all. There was a mix-up at check-in however that delayed us about 2 hours while they sorted out rooms for several guests, way after previous night's check-outs should've been long done with. Plus, there was an extra $35 destination fee that I'm not sure what it covered; there was no breakfast, parking was extra (luckily we didn't need parking this trip) and there was even a note saying the bottled water was an extra amount. We liked the place and would stay there again, but be more aware of the "real total" for all charges.

Overall, I had a great experience having Hotel Zelos as my staycation/birthday celebration! As someone that has worked in the hotel industry (for both boutique and corporate), I will definitely be back! The room I had, 743, was tucked in the back of the hotel and PERFECT to zero noises during my stay. The only reason this didn't get a full 5/5 is because of the electrical glitch to one of the lamps on the nightstand. Also, the hairdryer that was provided took some time to dry my hair. Other than that, everything was great! Will be back in a heartbeat.
- 3/5
For being an executive room. It was very small. Not even a coffee pot. Constable to a motel 6. Definitely will not start again nor recommend.
- 5/5
Clean spacious room, good service. Only wish there were more food options. Restaurant is a little pricey.
- 4/5
Easy to find from airport take bart walk 2mins. It’s just next trader Jose. Hotel is good and clean. In the outside of the hotel on the street there is the bus station. Cross the rode is the bart and muni. Easy to get public transportation but now there’s too much homeless on the street. You can smell the peeling everywhere. I don’t know if I will come back to SF downtown? Hotel is nice. But not recommend for trip.
- 5/5
Clean & spacious room. Convenient walk to Oracle Park. Staff were friendly. Would definitely come back.
- 4/5
Bar is decent though expensive for what you get. Bartenders seem adequate but not spectacular.
- 4/5
No complaints but some opportunities. Clean and quiet room. Great bed. Too much furniture in the room - stubbed my toe on an unnecessary ottoman. Bathroom is huge but had a weird hot tub in it, small shower. Not enough counter space for the size of the bathroom. Could have used a robe. All picky things and would go back again.
- 5/5
Amazing staff awareness! Feels homey
- 5/5
Great rooms and ambiance, it is also a block from the train terminus for SFO airport.
- 5/5
Nice place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Could use some updates but it was a great stop and perfectly located in the City
- 4/5
Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and it's in a central location.
- 5/5
An updated, generously-sized room with a comfortable bed. We had an interior-facing room and it was very quiet. Valet parking was great. Very reasonable price. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Close to things the hotel staff are so nice and cool
- 3/5
It was alright! That’s about it.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, clean room, well organized.
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly.
- 3/5
No coffee machine in the room We were charged 40$ every night for coffee served in one floor from 7 am to 11 am only, the access to an ice machine, water fountain, and a gym. Not much seating areas both inside the room and outside of the room. If you want to have some quiet time away from your crew, it is very inconvenient. The location is great and the cleaning service was good.
- 5/5
Awesome experience
- 5/5
Great staff , Cozy room , rooms were sound proof and the area is beautiful. 10/10
- 4/5
Clean and friendly
- 2/5
Very long check in. After finally getting settled in our room, some other guests opened our room door with their key card. The front desk had double booked our room. We went out to dinner and other entertainment, but when we finally arrived back at our room door late at night, the key card didn’t work. We had to go back to the lobby and wait in line to ask for access to our room again.
- 4/5

- 3/5
Paid extra for a spa room and the shower was moldy and the spa was older than me and unusable. The bypass door to bathroom didn’t function so you couldn’t have any privacy. The only thing this hotel has is its location.
- 5/5
Great room, staff was excellent! Dirty Habit restaurant was on point!
- 5/5
Great hotel and staff. Perfect hub while in the city.
- 5/5
Very impressive hotel in all ways - great location, friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable and spacious room, and a wonderful restaurant/bar hidden away on the fifth or sixth floor of the hotel.
- 5/5
Great staff, comfortable beds, great location for museums, clean, well equipped.
- 5/5
Good but the valet is not waiting outside. Have to park in the white curb ahead of the bus stop, then go inside to let the check in counter know you wish to valet. No big sign for Hotel Zelos either. Very convenient location tho. Target is around the corner, Trader Joe’s is practically attached and underneath Hotel Zelos. Wish their bar had a TV for sports.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, unbeliveably quiet interior courtyard. Nice bar and easy to get to our show. Would stay again. Valet parking was conveniant too!
- 4/5
The staff went above and beyond in their service, especially the housekeeping and the bar staff. The view was great and the room was extremely comfortable. The IT-style decor was a bit unusual, but that was a minor thing.
- 5/5
Reception- Jasmime is a keeper and company lucky to have her!
- 5/5
Spacious room and friendly staff. Quiet and relaxing stay. Jessica at the front desk is great.
- 5/5
I had a great time here staying for the holidays. I will come back again!
- 1/5
It wasn’t clean room and it wasn’t sound proof as they were talking about , bathroom had problem. As well and walls were dirty
- 1/5
Shower was lukewarm. In middle of December, hot shower too much to ask for?
- 3/5
Room was clean, but the beds were to small for a family of 4 and bathroom door did not have a lock. Also there was lot of confusion with credits and how it will be applied, and that made us do things that (incentive to reuse towels and avoid room service encouraged us to skip room service) but while checking out they made it look like those did not apply, so we made a fool of ourself by following the door tag instructions. Also the food there did not have much choices and was way expensive, but unfortunately any credit we were promissed were all tied to using the restaurant l, so we did not get a chance to use the credits that we were told that was part of the package. That was a complete waste and disappointing, would not consider this place next time. Only plus was the location and how close things were to this hotel, and that is why i am rating 3 stars
- 5/5
It’s within walking distance of Union Square, Metreon and Ferry building Love the bed. Very comfortable and design of room is comfortable
- 5/5
Staff helpful, although the happy hour wasn’t on at 4pm which was a bit disappointing. Front desk staff weren’t aware either. Other than that, great.
- 5/5
Great location, clean and spacious, very modern and friendly staff. Will stay again next time I’m in SF!
- 5/5
Convenient location. Modern and stylish. Great amenities and valet parking is easy and reasonable.
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff!
- 5/5
The hotel staff is very friendly.
- 1/5
Unpleasant to be surprised without a room upon arrival due to a power outage and no prior communication to arrive at their sister location for
- 5/5
Amazing experience and the staff was outstanding
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, convenient location.
- 4/5
We went to the fifth floor and the card system was down. They said that they only could take cash. That was a big bummer as we had already researched a bunch of restaurants in trying to see if we can make time before the game. And then to check in the hotel and find out that wasn’t even an option to eat there. But I did like the room and the service of the two people that I did interact with during check-in and check out.
- 5/5
Room was clean like pictures , we were assisted by Jeff and jasmine who were very helpful . We got to meet Benito who was a staff member who made us feel welcome and was helpful
- 5/5
Just a really great boutique hotel! Styled nice, great food and hours. Will definitely come back!
- 5/5
Quaint boutique hotel in the heart on Downtown. Friendly staff. Spacious, clean suite. Quiet. Close to a lot of restaurants and shopping. Had an issue with valet parking (valet driver was late to work) on day of departure but the staff credited my account for that day. I would definitely stay there again
- 5/5
This is my go-to hotel for SF. Great location, friendly service. Rooms are efficient and comfortable. Worth it to get the valet parking.
- 5/5
Nice room and staff
- 5/5
Great service, friendly staff.
- 3/5
Hotel was lovely, but I chose to valet my car and my sunglasses were stolen out of my vehicle when I went to the front desk they couldn’t be bothered and that was very upsetting since they were my prescription sunglasses and paid a fortune for them
- 5/5
The rooms are well sized, clean and modern. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The bar and restaurant area are well presented. I would stay there again. Very central. Put on some comfy shoes and walk those hills of San Fran.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Yesss the room was very clean.

The best part is the bar. This hotel is in need of a refresh & my friend had to change rooms since saw 3 different cockroaches in her room.
- 5/5
Staff were kind, easy valet parking, room is nice, clean and very spacious. Got my complimentary bottle of wine and $10 credit for Dirty Habit restaurant. Will definitely be staying here again when I go back to Frisco!
- 4/5
Helpful presence from staff
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Great staff. Very friendly and helpful!
- 4/5
The room was spacious and comfortable although there was some wear on the furniture and the bathroom. I was disappointed that there was no coffee in the room and only complimentary coffee and tea and no other drink options for guests. The TV said there was a way to access streaming apps, but none of the options worked.
- 5/5
No breakfast. We thought this hotel was perfect for our purposes. It was convenient to both tourist and business interests. Clean, comfortable bed, great view of Market St. Quiet with the fan on all night. Perfect amenities. A definite future stay!
- 5/5
Did not.have the beeakfast
- 5/5
Great location!Trader Joe’s and target nearby. warm and kind staff! Clean environment.
- 5/5
And of course the restaurant week menu at dinner was awesome. Thanks folks!!
- 5/5
We had a great and quiet stay with easy access to everything!
- 5/5
Nice room and restaurant!
- 5/5
Thank you for the wine bottle
- 5/5
Super clean and great location, Front desk staff great especially Jeff, who has been helpful on multiple occasions. Parking garage is in the building which is rare and convenient. Neighborhood SOMA, has actually been cleaned up a bit but not great. I have stayed here at lest a dozen times and never had a hotel experience at Hotel Zelos ( I can't say the same about some other places I've stayed at in SF.)
- 4/5
Good hotel. Close to the pier.
- 5/5
Clean room friendly staff
- 4/5
I was greeted the moment I walked in the lobby and helped out right away. Check in process was quick and I got up to my room without trouble. I have stayed at Hotel Zelos a few times when I have something going on in San Francisco. Each time I have had a wonderful stay, with a clean and comfortable room. The only complaint about my stay this time is I was put in a room that overlooked the bar/restuarant. Since it was a Saturday night it was fairly noisy. I still had a great stay and will definitely come back. I will just make sure to ask to not have a room iverlooking the bar area
- 5/5
We were obsessed with our room! The hotel is beautiful with soem cool chill vibes! Receptionist was super friendly. Definitely will be staying there again!
- 5/5
Staff was great and the room was very clean.
- 5/5
Nice, modern hotel conveniently located near Union Square, Powell Street Bart Station, Market Street and numerous bus lines. Planning to make this my regular hotel when I visit San Francisco.
- 1/5
Terrible. Unsafe. Hotel looks nothing like the pictu
- 5/5
Clean room, quiet
- 3/5
Location was good. Hotel rooms were small but clean. Beds were acceptable. No coffee makers in room was a bummer. Floor was not level being an older hotel. I had a bad fall and was physically injured because of this the first night, the second night my sister fell in the same spot. We brought this up at checkout, the very friendly attendant told us there have been reportings of paranormal activity on the 8th floor! That’s where we stayed! Good value, Employees & service was terrific.
- 5/5
Nice hotel downtown
- 3/5
We're Bay area locals that had a date night out. I booked this hotel for the bar and restaurant plus the bathroom looking upgraded. The restaurant and bar were closed due to dreamforce. I wish they would have disclosed this. The pictures are deceiving. The sink vessel is upgraded but the jacuzzi hot tub and the stand up, corner stall was very outdated. Cracked tile in the floors and the ceiling was not appealing. It was a hospital like bathroom. The bed was comfortable but the headboard was dusty due to it being soft material. I don't think I will book this hotel again.
- 3/5
The hotel itself was very clean and nice, just really needed somewhere to get food and drink.
- 5/5
I think it’s a great experience! Very clean and nice design, especially thanks for the customer service team who literally delivered a microwave when I ask them to heat up my takeout food
- 5/5
Love love the late checkout option!
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Great bar and restaurant. Convenient location.
- 5/5
The room and hotel were very nice. Outdoor surrounding kind of unsafe but hotel was very good.
- 4/5
Parking was difficult. No directions and find out valet is $60. Nowhere else to park. Valet did not bring car out or help whatsoever. Seemed annoyed.
- 5/5
👍
- 4/5
The place was in a great location and a lovely hotel! The housekeepers were so kind and friendly, i just noticed some cleanliness issues. Also I paid for a view and the view was great, other than the fact that the windows were very dirty. One last thing is that the showers need updating, as a tall person, I do not like having to duck to have a shower.
- 5/5
Great location! Major sites are within walking distance. Clean, large, modern room. Wonderful service.
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
The valet parking system was inefficient.
- 5/5
Would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Excellent experience. Clean and roomy. Beautiful aesthetics!
- 2/5
A hotel was average what I did not like was they charge me a destination hotel fee $41. For valet parking it was $55 plus tax .
- 5/5
clean room.
- 5/5
Clean room. Convenient location for shopping and restaurants
- 3/5
The hotel is clean and the stafff are capable but the area around the hotel is a bit sketchy with lots of homeless allmaround
- 5/5
Loved this hotel and it will now be our go to! very hip, clean and right in the middle of everything. Especially loved the generous sized rooms. Only disappointment was comfort of mattress. Possible that we may have just gotten a worn out one.
- 5/5
This past weekend, my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Hotel Zelos, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. Our room was spotless, and Anish went above and beyond by leaving us a bottle of wine to help us celebrate. We upgraded to the spa room, which was incredible and offered a beautiful view. Valet service was quick and convenient, and the hotel’s location made it easy to explore nearby bars, shops, and even enjoy dinner at our favorite restaurant, Crustaceans. Thank you, Hotel Zelos, for making our anniversary so special!
- 5/5
Very quiet (sound proofed), spacious rooms for downtown, very convenient for public transport especially the Chase Center. Clean and comfortable and very nice staff. Downtown SF has a terrible homeless problem and in front of the hotel is no exception. That's the only issue but it's the same in any big city these days. The hotel was a great choice for a weekend visit.
- 5/5
The property was clean, staff was friendly and check in was easy.
- 5/5
Nice place, great location and very comfortable bed!
- 4/5
Veey nice room and clean. I was on 9th floor and one of two elevators had a working button to the 9th floor. Minor inconvenience to wait for other.
- 5/5
It was a beautiful building and room. Would totally stay here again!
- 5/5
Great place!
- 4/5
Walking distance to Union Square and lots of local restaurants and diners. Unfortunately the hotel was noisy and you could hear the toilet flushing from the floors above and also the room next door which was annoying and disturbing in the early hours. The water and ice machine didn’t work on the 6th floor. We ate breakfast at Dirty Habits restaurant on the 5th floor which was very nice and reasonably priced. Overall great location but the hotel is in need of some renovating.
- 5/5
The VIP upgrade and feature was amazing! The front desk check in person- i believe his name was Mark but definitely the night shift- was a highlight as was the cleaning staff. The only drawback for me was the restaurant bar- i thought they were open for lunch and it was difficult to find anyone or even figure out their hours. Over all wonderful!
- 4/5
Nice place. On site restaurant/bar. No in-room coffee was a downside.
- 5/5
Artistic decor, beautiful and delicious restaurant, clean and comfortable rooms.
- 5/5
Great service!!!
- 1/5
not a safe area, without any breakfast included
- 3/5
No bellman which was disappointing. Bed was not comfortable. Overpriced compared to other hotels in SF. Staff were friendly especially at the bar. Good sized room. Little charm and not good value for money. Overall disappointed.
- 5/5
Nice hotel close to convention center
- 5/5
Comfortable hotel. Small rooms but intelligently planned. Elevators are vintage, so be prepared to wait, but that's the only downside. Very convenient to the ballpark, convention center, all Gaslamp restaurants.
- 5/5
Exceeded my expectations. The staff was super friendly and focused on providing exceptional customer service. I had a corner room, large, nicely decorated, clean with everything I needed. The restaurant had great breakfast and excellent service. Valet parking onsite. Fantastic location around the corner from BART & Muni, Union Square, Moscone Center, Embarcadero. Loved my stay at this hotel. Will definitely return.
- 5/5
Nice hotel in great location. Room was bright, airy, clean and comfortable. A few minor annoyances, body wash and lotion dispensers were practically empty in bathroom and had to fiddle with the buttons on the hair dryer to get it to work. Also, ice machines on 3 different floors did not work.
- 4/5
Perfect location for my brother and I on a siblings trip. Convenient to numerous public transit & walking. Room was quiet, beds very comfortable and outstanding shower pressure. Great value for the room! Skip the restaurant for breakfast though - really expensive and not that good.
- 5/5
It is clean, well kept, and in a reasonable part of San Francisco, would stay here again if ever in San Francisco
- 5/5
The welcome basket with wine.
- 4/5
The staffers very helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
Clean and great!
- 5/5
Staff and room was excellent!!!
- 4/5
I would like to have a buffet breakfast instead of served breakfast
- 2/5
Valet is really rude and bench in room had huge dark stain on it when I checked in.
- 3/5
Otherwise, the refrigerator was silent, as it contains no compressor. However, the only was it would be cold enough to be useful was to keep a bucket of ice in it, much the same as an ancient ice box. Trader Joe’s is in the basement, which was very convenient and helped us save money on restaurants. The location on Market Street is convenient but htere are numerous beggars just out the door. The visible disparity of wealth, in San Francisco, is astounding. Two blocks away, Neiman-Marcus sells a bathrobe for $6750!
- 2/5
Hotel is decent condition, rooms for size, staff service bad , especially receptionists, they are not doing good job explaining basic things, guys literally getting angry or laughing in your face.
- 5/5
Walkable distance to union square and eateries.
- 5/5
My family member stayed there only x 2 days not the entire time, just to sleep, they said the complimentary voffee is not good .
- 5/5
Great location. Staff was very helpful and polite. Food at the hotel was good.
- 5/5
Accesible
- 4/5
The hotel was ok. Not as nice as I was expecting. The bed was mediocre, the pillows terrible, shower was a dribble. The bathroom needed updating and the room could use a little attention. The curtains were coming off the rail and the light pollution in the room required a sleeping mask. The staff seemed friendly, I didn’t have much interaction with them. Location has lots of restaurants in walking distance. The fitness room was well equipped.
- 5/5
convenient location
- 5/5
Good hotel in a very central location, perfect for my needs. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the places I had to be. Comfortable room and friendly staff. Would stay again for the convenience.
- 5/5
Great bar at this hotel, and really friendly, accommodating staff. Hip vibe. Only negative at all is the tiny corner shower, but the trade off was the room had a jet bath tub that was terrific. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
I travel a lot and hardly write reviews but this place is Such a great quiet hotel with extremely warm staff who are happy to make you happy.
- 4/5
Nice hotel although we almost passed it when we trying to find it. The hotel is very clean and modern and in a good position although there were the odd quirky character hanging around in the street. This is the same on most of San Francisco though. The staff were okay although not that engaging with guests as you come and go. Overall 9/10.
- 5/5
Will continue staying there when I am in San Francisco.
- 3/5
The restaurant is overpriced

I travel every two weeks for business. I give “5 stars” 90% of the time so long as things are reasonably smooth. The rest of the time, I just don’t rate a stay if things aren’t so great. I rarely if ever give bad review. I will not be back to this hotel! They hosted a marketing event in the courtyard until 11:00 pm. The music was so loud, I could hear the words even though I was wearing earplugs. Needless to say, I couldn’t sleep even though I had to get up early. Even after connecting with the manager all they could say was “sorry” they have the right to host their party (no adjustment to the music volume) until 11:00 pm. If sleep isn’t important, it’s clean enough. Since I’m giving a review, the gym sucks.

Great staff and nice restaurant.

Fantastic location near Union Square. An easy walk to Embarcadero and Oriole Park. Plus a very short walk from Powell BART station. Rooms and beds are large and modern. Staff were super friendly and accommodating - even gave us a free early check-in after we arrived very tired from Australia. Would definitely stay here again. Great option for families or groups requiring 2 large beds.

Great location and the hotel has a great vibe. I’d stay here again but note there is a fee of $35 per day after you check out that Expedia didn’t capture.

No signage at eye level, so if you're not from SF then it is hard to find. Bus station right in front so unloading is a pain, and they don't have a bellman, if they do he did not help at all. They ran out of cream at the free coffee and tea station, the waiter at the restaurant shrugged his hands as if he was annoyed, then gave me the cream. Over all the staff was not very accommodating.

Our third stay here and we love it. Easy to get in and out. Close to many restaurants and things to do. We love the restaurant Dirty Habit. The restaurant has a cool vibe, atmosphere, and good drinks. Make sure to check out the outside area of the restaurant. Kind of a hidden gem.

Awesome room and staff

The staff was very accommodating and very friendly period the 5th floor has a nice area for coffee and tea in the morning for guests. There's small restaurant and bar that was a good for breakfast. We traveled in a group of 6. The rooms were beautiful, although the water pressure for the shower needs a bit of improvement. Parking is in the basement. The valet in the front will take your car down, but you must bring it back up again yourself. We'll definitely stay again because it was very clean and the area was good. Not to mention very good value for what you get.

The room was spacious and comfortable. I loved the vibe of the hotel. The artwork and design was contemporary and original. Will def stay here again!

Hotel is centrally located in the heart of San Francisco, steps away from the Powell Street BART station. The hotel was conveniently located near the cable car stop and next to a Trader Joe's. Hotel staff were professional and friendly, and it was one of the few places I was able to obtain a free upgrade due to my hotels.com gold status. The room was spacious and clean, and wifi worked without a problem. The room was quiet at night despite facing Market Street. The water and ice dispensers in the hallways weren't always working and the halls were a bit dark, but these weren't deal breakers for me. Thank you to all the staff who made my stay a pleasant one. I enjoyed my time at the hotel and would stay again.

Jeff went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay! Will be coming back just for him!!!

amazing

The bar and restaurant were both closed during my stay, very odd for a premium hotel in the center of downtown. Had to order from DoorDash.. or venture out alone late at night.
- 4/5
Close to BART and Powell Cable Car. It is very convenient for public transportation. Very convenient shopping with Traders Joe next to the hotel.

All good

I had a work conference across the street at the Marriott. The room rates and parking rates at Hotel Zelos were much better than even the conference rate. They accommodated my family of 4 well. My son lost his cell in the bedding and the hotel contacted the laundry service and was able to locate and ship back the phone. Clean up-to-date hotel with everything that I need in a hotel.

The service was amazing! Proactive and friendly. The transportation and walk ability make this an ideal location. Beds are comfy!

Nice room and frindly staff. Need EV charging!

Great location if you are in town for conference at Moscone
- 5/5
Close to shopping and dining.
- 3/5
The room was nice enough but there is very little "temporary" parking up front and I could not find the entrance on my own. The address is almost invisible from the street. The restaurant was nice and they do offer complacentry coffee in the morning. The price of the cocktails is way overpriced for what you get. But they are located next to some very good restaurants in walking distance.

Smoke alarm started chirping at 3:45am! Other than that, the place was fine.

Very good stay

Great hotel in a good location. Would definitely stay here again when I’m in the area.

The only minor complaint I have is the hallways are super dark. Literally feels weird specially if you’re looking for anything in your purse, etc..

Great little boutique hotel, would stay here again while in SF

Great trip!! Thank you for the upgrade to a corner room. Very clean and quiet and great location! Will come again

Great! Loved the smell of the lobby
- 5/5
So close to everything I came here for.
- 4/5
Hotel staff were very nice. The only reason I didn't give a full five stars is that the room smelt a tad weird and the location had some questionable creatures outside (but this is very par for the course in SF).
- 4/5
This was a nice property. The room was clean and spacious with everything we needed. It looked like an older property that had been newly renovated. It was in a good area for walk ability - close to the pier (20 min walk or bus ride). Close to the cable cars and Powell st station.

Very nice hotel. Would go back anytime
- 4/5
Pros: everything else. I would stay again. Good proximity to Oracle Park.
- 3/5
The hotel is nice with modern decor and a friendly staff. Had a nice meal in their restaurant as well. The neighborhood itself was a bit on the noisier side with a significant amount of street noise one night, but this is likely the case with most hotels in union square.

If I could make a suggestion tho, please provide simple room slippers for the guests. Thanks!

Sneaky fees

Nice and clean room, friendly staff. Parking was available with valet only for a fee.

Beautiful room, great location, clean and quiet!
- 3/5
The stay itself was fine although the front sign and entrance myself and many others went right past trying to figure out where it was. Parking next to the entrance was ridiculous, the guys working you can barely understand and failed to mention if I don't do valet through the hotel for $3 less they'll lock up your keys from 11pm to 7am which was ridiculous when I could have actually paid $3 less and the Hotel desk would have my keys in case of an emergency or needing medication from my vehicle and phone charger. The Hotel needs to figure out the parking with the apparently contracted garage next door because their service and lack of direction to the process is mature. Those guys are so pushy I got into arguments with both of them about them not listening to what I was telling them.
