Comfort Inn Santa Monica - West Los Angeles

I booked this hotel for the convenience. It’s middle of everything we wanted to do. I felt like property is either old or overused because had very bad smells in our room. Other than that we were ok with it.

Nice, clean property. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast buffet was perfect.

My room at checkin had a foul and distinct smell. The carpet was stained and dirty so the smell may have been from it. My room was changed but still carpeted. They said they conditioned room with deodorizer and it seemed to work. Other rooms carpeted.

We found a clean room with everything that was needed. The breakfast was limited but free. Free parking. Friendly staff. Located 10 minutes by car from Santa Monica Pier or 20 minute drive to Beverly Hills. It fit us for a 2 night stay to do some sightseeing in this area.

They charged me for parking, even though—when I made my reservation—free parking was listed as one of the hotel's amenities.

While in LA boosting my wife’s Nana…a try and find a hotel to stay at since we’re from San Diego. This is our second time staying at Comfort Inn and we have liked everything about staying there…our room is clean, the staff is pleasant and friendly, the breakfast is good and the parking is easy.

Outstanding location and very well presented rooms and good amenities available within the secure hotel grounds. The staff are all friendly, helpful and professional. I highly recommend staying here.

Staff were friendly and we appreciated getting a later check out on Mother’s Day for a relaxed brunch. (We didn’t eat the free breakfast so can’t comment on it) Also very much appreciated being called promptly about an item (laptop) we forgot in the room!! Thank you! Parking was easy and plentiful in the lot. Btw, The wine bar across the street and to the left is a great spot

Lots of food options within walking distance too. Carl's Jr. and McDonalds, if you like those, are within view of the hotel on Santa Monica Blvd. I walked to the amazing Erewhon grocery store around the corner for an amazing sushi plate for $25.00. Their other food is amazing too but a bit pricey, and they have a great beer selection. Their quality is second to non though. Check out the 3rd street promenade about a15 minute walk away. Lots of stores and restaurants. We will definitely stay at this Comfort Inn again.

The hotel is at a great location; Carls Jr is next to it and Mcdonalds across the street. But other stores are within minutes through car. Santa Monica Pier is also close. We really enjoyed breakfast! It had many options such as waffles, cereal, eggs, ham, and much more! The breakfast is a plus! The room were spacious and clean. We got a king beg and queen bed and the queen bed had its own room!

Overall good for a budget weekend stay. It's definitely 3 stars and has the standard amenities that you'd need for a short time. Rooms are dated and had some musky smells but we opened a window and we were gone most of the time so it wasn't too bad. Bathroom fan was also inoperable which made for a foggy time during shower time with a family of 5. Adequate and close to driving or public transportation for the beach.

The property is dated and very no-frills. The room was mostly clean, though the floors could have been better. The wall-mounted hair dryer didn’t work, and the non-slip mat in the shower was peeling up, which was uncomfortable. The iron is tethered to the ironing board with a steel cable, making it nearly unusable. The photos are more generous than reality, and the breakfast was low quality. Overall, it’s a passable option for a single night’s sleep, but far from comfortable.

Our family of 7 had a great single night stay at the Comfort Inn Santa Monica. Check it was smooth and easy- great customer service. Our room was clean and spacious- had plenty of towels for us to use, the beds were so comfortable. One of our rooms faced the main street so it was a bit loud during functioning hours from the city, but at night while sleeping it was not a problem at all. Breakfast was good- a lot to offer, but it went quick & there was a single person trying to refill and replenish everything. Its is a lot for one person to maintain and the room was small with one exit. Area around the building felt safe and there is a Carls Junior right next door. All in all would stay here again!

Spacious room, everything worked fine, several choices for breakfast. Check in a little cumbersome as filled out information online but had to do it again at front desk. Parking was available, no issues there.

The breakfast menu was limited in the parking was safe. One of the men at the front desk was less than friendly. However, the younger gentleman more than made up for the older gentleman's lack of personable and polite interaction.

First room I was given smelled. They switched our room but there was a cockroach in the shower and other bug on the bed. My husband got bitten by somthing too. Overall, terrible experience. I had to check out earlier than my plans and book a place elsewhere. And still charged around $200 for the night.

I don't eat these kind of breakfast foods. We eat very healthy foods mostly organic, I am gluten free. Would like to see organic oatmeal and almondmilk, raw nuts and seeds, plain yogurts etc

A bit tired needs a makeover

Room access feels secure in this neighborhood with many people who walk about. I like the attractive patio tables in the courtyards, which offer the possibilities of expanded space and fresh air during room use. I used the patio to read while waiting for my family to nap and I enjoyed the breeze and There many visible uniformed and pleasant staff, which adds to feeling of security.

After receiving our room key for room 115. We entered the room and noticed a smell of mildew like there was a previous water leak. And the television didn’t work / couldn’t find a signal. The Comfort inn staff provided us with a new room #122. My girlfriend and I both physically, Visibly and mentally exhausted. Got in bed and went to sleep but can smell a bad smell coming from the restroom. my girlfriend Dayja woke up about 4am to use the restroom and noticed there was a woman satay napkin/ Bloody Pad in the trash can that smelled very bad .. also what looks to be spit in the sink. She was very upset and concerned about the cleaning staff not keeping completely cleaning the room. After speaking to hotel staff we were referred to contact Hotels.com for help

I'll be honest: The carpets needed cleaning. And I believe we were bitten by bed bugs of some sort.

The website said parking was free for the first car and was not accurate with Expedia so we got a surprise bill upon check in that we had not anticipated

Clean room, good breakfast included, close to Santa Monica pier and Sawtelle area! Parking is easy but you have to pay $10/day which is not bad. Please don’t make it too expensive because of a good review. Keep this great things about your hotel as a remarkable thing that you can do for your customers without being expensive! Please keep the price affordable for people like me who is just an ordinary citizen! Thank you!

Cheapest hotel with basic but clean facilities

This is an old California motel that has a new face that still shows its age. Our room was nice and the bed/linens were great! Mostly quiet. Able to sleep. Not a lot of walkable restaurants but several close. We will stay there again as it is close to UCLA Med.

The housekeeping staff didn't speak English, so even though the kids were still sleeping, I couldn't explain that she didn't need to come in but we just needed the garbage emptied and more toilet paper. I had to just say we were fine. Also, the pool is closed by 8pm which is very early and by the time we got back from dinner every night, it was already too late to swim which was a bummer. But we will always go back to this hotel when we're in LA because it's a good price and management is very kind.

We were not greeted when we arrived. The check in process was purely transactional. The lobby is tired and worn. No one offered to help with luggage (we are seniors). Our room smelled very musty as if it hadn't been used for a very long time. I made a specific trip to the front desk on the first morning of our stay to ask for full housekeeping services (it's not automatic here, you have to ask). When we got back to the room 12 hours later, it had not been touched. Our room was right near the breakfast area and we were woken both mornings at 6:30 a.m. by other guests eating at the tables outside our room and speaking at full volume. When we left, we were not asked if we'd enjoyed our stay nor were we thanked for staying or invited to return at some point. Very transactional - again, the staff seemed uncaring. I attribute their seeming indifference to whoever manages them. These are not happy campers. On the plus side, despite the strong musty odor, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was better than most "included" breakfasts.

Overall the room was nice. Only thing that I didn't like was the shower water pressure. Water pressure was very very weak. Check in was smooth, property was clean, room was clean.

Horrible beds ,, i asked for a second room thinking my bed was bad , and they are all the same .. back pain everyday… i would sleep better in my car .. then pool makes you feel you are in the hood … around the walls(over the walls) you can see all the ugly old buildings.. makes you feel worst that been in a hotel 6 ..

I didn’t have a car but there were several public transportation options available. The room was comfortable. Would stay there again if I was in the area.

We stay here at least 3 times a year and head to Santa Monica Beach. Hotel is amazing, staff is great and the strawberry waffles at breakfast are a hit for our daughter! Thank you and see you again soon

My only complaints are: no grab bars around the commode and no ice machine, nor vending machines, convenient to Room 709, where we were located.

The room has such a strong odor of cigaretttes even though it claims to be non smoking. The bathroom is dirty with stains on the mirror. Definitely not worth the price paid to stay here

The room smelt like weed and had to ask the staff for air freshener. Carpet felt dirty, bathroom was very cramped. Housekeeping was only on request. That’s fine but when I requested for towels to be replenished, they forgot. When I asked again, I was told to come downstairs to the lobby and pick them up myself. Not the service I hoped for. Breakfast options were okay but there was very limited seating. On nice days we could use outdoor seating but we had a rainy morning where people had to queue up for a table or take our food up to our smelly room. A terrible experience overall.

We stayed for 4 nights, the pool is outside, super cold, supposed to be heated but never saw anyone swimming , and we froze. Breakfast was alright, worker seemed annoyed the whole time.

The room we had was a bit run down and cramped. Water damage in ceiling/wall, huge gap under the door, and room wasn't large enough to unfold and leave in place a large suit case. (we had a 2 queen room) We had to shove it under the sink and it didn't exactly fit there either. We were on second floor and there was a nice patio area to bring things back and eat at,

Love the comfort inn, for their customer service the hotel, location , safety, easy parking and cleanliness. It’s my go to hotel when I stay out of town.

Our stay was quite comfortable and check-in was easy. It had everything we needed, including late (ends at 10:00) breakfast, plenty of parking, and clean room. The pool was also clean and inviting. The bed was a little soft for us, otherwise we would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is ON Santa Monica Boulevard. Will it knock your socks off? No. Will you find anything to complain about? Also no. I REALLY appreciate this type of hotel - good location, cheaper than other places around, no frills, maybe slightly dated facilities, but staff doing well to keep the place nice. It's a well-run business. We'll be back.

Everyone was very friendly. The hotel is old and you can feel and see it. Housekeeping left the window to our hotel room, which people passed in front of, open all day while we were out and the next day, they didn’t even clean our room even though we had requested full service housekeeping.

This hotel isn't super fancy but it's comfortable, the staff is friendly, there is free breakfast, it's convenient and our room was a nice size.
