Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location, but expressing dissatisfaction with the high cost of parking, noise from protests, and the presence of homeless people in the surrounding area. The breakfast is also a point of contention, with some guests praising it and others finding it below average.

Property is clean and safe. Unfortunately, our room was stuffy without having a bathroom fan. The windows don’t open so we felt airflow was restricted. Our air conditioner was not keeping up either. When I told the front desk as we were checking out, she just said she’d take note of it.
- 5/5
Nice hotel near the beach!
- 5/5
Breakfast bar was great
- 4/5
Cons: The water pressure in the shower was pretty terrible. The hot tub was in dire need of being cleaned/treated, and the pool was freezing cold. It’s under a roof so it doesn’t get much sun.
- 3/5
On the upside, the room we had was a corner room with a balcony and was pleasant.although we did pay for that.
- 4/5
Clean room but outdated. Good location great staff
- 4/5
This hotel has very nice amenities. The fire pit on the pool terrace was very nice. The fitness center was excellent with a nice bottle filler station. Breakfast was just okay. I wished they served the omelets every day because the scrambled eggs were very watery and poor. Also, there is not enough seating for everyone during breakfast and the staff did a poor job keeping up with the trash cans. The trash cans were often overflowing by the end of breakfast.
- 5/5
This hotel is very well situated with good size rooms (and high ceilings). Breakfast was good and property very clean. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Very clean, great staff. I’ll definitely stay here again.

Clean and modern rooms with lots of space for my wife and I. Super friendly staff who helped us with directions, check-in requests, and any other question we had. This property is located within walking distance of everything you might want to do in Santa Monica — from the beach to shopping the Promenade to world-class dining.
- 4/5
Well stocked breakfast and very clean area-the staff work very hard at this. Rooms were cleaned and made up well. In convenient location-walking distance of Santa Monica Pier and metro plus bus stop is right outside
- 1/5
Staff was so rude and very disrespectful tge lady doing the breakfast was the rudist person we've ever met
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay here, it was walkable to the pier which was a selling point. Not unsafe, parking was easy.

Were really looking forward to relaxing in outside patio with the firepit, but were told the "engineer" went home for "the evening" and he was the only one who could operate the system. Really? Because isn't it just an on/off switch? And isn't the evening when the firepit is most usable/enjoyable. Why put it in your advertising photos if it's not available. BTW: The hot tub was too sudsy foamy and more lukewarm than hot. But overall, the room was nice.
- 5/5
Great location, clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Nice, clean and quiet hotel. Free breakfast was decent. Room was nicely updated, although didn’t love having just a sliding barn door for the bathroom. Doesn’t leave much for privacy.
- 5/5
All around is perfect
- 4/5
Was a bit worried as you can not even get into building with a key. Once inside it was clean. Was pleasantly surprised to find a peloton bike in gym. They had sack breakfast for those that are unable to stay. I felt the valet was a bit expensive. You can park in the garage right next door for about 1/2 the price. There is a Trader Joe’s right next door which was convenient.
- 4.5/5
Nice clean room and easy excess to places I needed to go to. There was so disturbing noise from room above .
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Hotel is well located with all major amenities. Staff is quite cordial and supportive. Breakfast is standard continental, with no major variations. Room is quite cozy, and large for multiple people to accommodate, and quite quiet. Gym, Laundry etc. are in good shape and accessible. Breakfast can be better with some variations , as gets monotonous if stay is for more than a day. Check-in could be more friendly, rather than being just professional.
- 2.5/5
Good location and cleanliness of the hotel was excellent Water pressure in the shower was terrible, water was literally trickling out, and the breakfast was not very good, only one complimentary water when there are two guess
- 2.5/5
Hotel was in a great area. It was clean, except the breakfast counters were not. The beds were not comfortable at all. The mattress was dented on the side and high in the middle. The parking fees are crazy outrageous. Had to park at the Trader Joe’s.
- 4/5
The vicinity to the fisherman's wharf
- 5/5
Great place but the parking was a bit pricey, 65 dollars plus parking tax total of 76.70 will definitely look for another hotel with less parking fees.
- 3.5/5
Wasn’t told about parking tax paid $76.00 for one night parking $11.00 for parking tax wasn’t told at the end was paying $11.00 on parking tax

We had an a/c problem on the second night of our stay that only resolved in the morning as their engineer/maintenance manager does not stay for the night. We slept at 77 F all night it was so uncomfortable. Popped the sliding doors open for air and it was also very loud outside. Requesting for compensation for a portion of that night atleast.

Property is centrally located to a lot of things in Santa Monica and convenient to shops and restaurants I wish the breakfast offerings would rotate with more options. It tended to be the same chicken sausage, potato’s and eggs.
- 5/5
Nice and clean. 5 min walk from pier
- 3/5
It was okay besides the homeless hanging around everywhere at night
- 5/5
Room was spacious & spotless.
- 1/5
The hotel was clean and you had some breakfast options that we’re good Big problem was no sleep the entire weekend. We were kept awake by constant dripping from the what we were told AC unit in the roof of the room. We took numerous videos of it throughout the night on both nights. We inquired in the middle of the night about the dripping, and if there was another room or can they stop it. , We were told 7am maintenance would be on and they will take care of it. Got a call finally at 11a sat. Desk was pleasant and apologetic/ Told us if we wanted to move rooms cause maintenance Couldn’t do nothing about the dripping. It would have to be by one or 130. We were on a campus tour and there’s no way we would’ve made it back until 330. We were given no other option we stayed in the room again Saturday night took more videos of the dripping and sleep was off and on for all of us. Drive home today 12 hrs. No sleep. Blah’ This seems to be a common issue. Have not heard from office

Spacious room. Helpful staff. Excellent location

Clean, friendly, parking on site Right next to train station

Location, clean inside There wasn’t anything to dislike.
- 5/5
Clean room and hotel property.

Location is really good very near to Santa Monica pier. The staff is very kind, clean rooms, very good breakfast The coffee machine in the room was dusty so we couldn’t use it.
- 5/5
The staff are very helpful and accommodating. Nothing really. My stay was wonderful.
- 5/5
Great location. Very clean ! Good options for breakfast and coffee available all day !
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff, breakfast included, great location walking distance from the pier, vallet parking 10/10 and safe.
- 5/5
Very clean and bright. Staff was helpful and friendly. Great location with walking to everything. Wish parking wasn’t so expensive.
- 3/5
Pretty average and standard. The upholstery is pretty beat up throughout. The property definitely has some wear but is clean and functional. Breakfast lacked variety but was serviceable.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great, staff was kind & helpful. Nice pool & hot tub. Would stay again
- 5/5
Welcoming staff, held our luggage until check-in, very secure. Loved the pool and hot tub, spacious rooms, good breakfast options. Excellent proximity to the beach, pier, promenade—you can hear the light rail at all hours but it’s not bad.
- 0.5/5
No stairs available! Need my money back! They canceled my stay but kept my money!
- 5/5
We read the reviews. People are ridiculous to complain so much! Breakfast was 3 hot item with toast, bagels, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, variety of juice and yogurt. Plenty options, plus coffee bar open 24 hours. Yes the hotel is by the Tram, actually very convenient if you use it. Yes the odd homeless person, but we saw them throughout Santa Monica and police were monitoring the problem 24/7. Ok our balcony view was the Tram station.. and who cares for the price. Air conditioning works period, who cares if it’s a bit loud. We are seniors and absolutely loved our room, breakfast and the price! Oh almost forgot about the pool! Wonderful stay!

- 4/5
All day coffee and tea! The only part for us lacking was the check-in. We arrived at 12pm. We had flown at 6am out of NY. When we arrived we left our bags as no rooms were available. When we returned a few hours later there were two people at the desk. The woman didnt speak with us, acknowledge us or help us, but helped people behind us while we waited for the gentleman who had told us earlier to come back in a few hours. He didn’t remember us and we went through check in all over again.
- 3/5
$65 valet parking is only options for parking although they advertise garage parking available. Public parking around the block if you don't mind walking through the homeless camps. Security allows for public loitering at the entrance to the hotel. Valet entrance had people smoking weed every night I returned. Fridge in room was broken. Chair in the room was old and had peeling vinyl off the arms. Thank goodness the beds were comfortable.
- 3.5/5
The hotel is well situated near the pier, close to the beach and the 3rd Street Promenade. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable - exactly what you expect from a Hampton Inn. The area, in general, is not the safest anymore. 3rd Street promenade has tons of vacant space - it’s not the bustling, energetic place it used to be. I booked this trip very last minute, so if I would have known that, I might have chosen a Hampton Inn in a different location.
- 3/5
Breakfast was fresh and staff were kind. Clean amenities and close to room was a plus. My biggest complaint is there is NO FREE onsite parking and i was not made aware of this prior to booking. The only optionil is expensive insote valet and its inconvenience
- 3/5
Room was okay. When we got in the room it was kind of stuffy, definitely needed to turn the air down. Staff was super nice
- 5/5
Property was nice. The rooms were clean. Parking was a little pricey.

Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay here recently. Traveling from Australia, staff were friendly and happy to assist us navigating the area. Rooms were modern, clean and spacious. Thanks for a great stay!
- 5/5
Second time staying here and I have nothing but good things to say! The breakfast in the morning is also great and they have quite the variety. Pool is good, small but not busy. Hot tub isn’t too hot but we didn’t spend too much time there anyways. Staff were beyond helpful. Clean.
- 5/5
Very accommodating
- 3/5
Breakfast is unappetizing but that's typical for all hotels that serve breakfast across US. Compared to Europe breakfast is almost as good as given at the homeless shelter. I would give half a star if I could.
- 5/5
We had a great time at this Hampton Inn in Santa Monica! Great location, good amenities, and nice pool/hot tub. Ian at the front desk was especially helpful with check-in and some questions about the area. Very professional and friendly! We would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great location. The quality of sleep I received was amazing “snug as a bug in a rug”! Staff eas polite and pleasant. Breakfast was decent enough.
- 5/5
Overall good service
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable. Great shower. Comfy bed. Spacious room Realizing that it wasn’t free parking, which ended up being $150 for two nights
- 5/5
Nice staff, beautiful comfy room and great location just a couple of blocks from the beach and pier.
- 1/5
The staff was very disrespectful of my husband when trying to access our car in the parking garage. Security and Valet both had very rude interactions.
- 5/5
Very Good, good location, near to the beach!
- 4/5
Clean safe hotel. Great breakfast, nice staff. Only thing is parking is expensive but you can park a few blocks away in a parking garage as well.
- 5/5
Had a short stay but was great. Dog friendly, location is prime to beach, shopping, restaurants and mass transportation to anywhere in Los Angeles. Rooms were clean and fully stocked with basic amenities, we paid a little more for a private balconey so we had a great view. Continental breakfast had hot food as well, so it was nice change from the breakfast bar and yogurt places.
- 2.5/5
Location relatively near the pier There is a tram stop in front of the hotel which is super noisy, the entrance of the hotel is the gathering for junkies and homeless people and I belive is also a bus stop, it keeps packed of people specially in the morning. Room very worn out, sheets and towels gave me some resistance and questioning how clean that was. Breakfast standard for most Holiday Inn, Ibis, Mercury Lodge etc... these kind of chains but this one was the worse one, what should be hot was cold, what should be could was room temperature, the oatmeal looked like something you could find in the garbage bin. Plus the parking fee is not clear and almost two times the parking fee for a better hotel just few meters away where my colleague was and paid less than 20% more than I did per night.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable with a great complimentary breakfast
- 5/5
Clean, quiet and comfortable
- 5/5
Room was spotless, handy location to the promenade and pier. Great view too!
- 4/5
Noticed hairs on the duvet cover late at night. Uncomfortable pillows and noisy fan in the middle of the night
- 1/5
We had to call security for the excessive noise levels every night. Our frustrations were minimized and treated as as an annoyance to the front desk staff. Nothing was really done to remedy the situation and a manager never reached out after several requests for a manager to speak with us. Despite requesting our room to be cleaned in the 5 days we were there, it was only cleaned once…and this is after it was ignored two days in a row. The front desk staff seemed more annoyed than concerned that we were not happy with our stay.

- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Clean and efficient. Low on personnel
- 4/5
Easy check in, laundry and gym available which was good.
- 5/5
Room was spotless and amenities were great. I used the gym and pool and both met the standards. Location was ideal for visiting the board walk and even walking distance to Venice.
- 4/5
Clean room, good breakfast and helpful staff
- 2/5
I did not receive my deposit back, was told it will show up within 10 days. To date I have not received it
- 4/5
Easy walk to Santa Monica Pier and felt safe and secure in the area.
- 2.5/5
Stain towels, dusty. Outdated room style, pool need lots of attention not clean properly. Hot tube need repairs and visible rush in concrete inside tub
- 1/5
Yuck, just horrible. The only good thing was it was cheap. The rooms are outdated and worn, the bed was old and uncomfortable, and the vinyl flooring was filthy not to mention stains on the walls. The complimentary breakfast? Pretty bad at best. Plus, their internet was down for the entire one day/night we were here.
- 2/5
They didn't give the room with a king bed, it was double beds. When I called the reception they said that they don't have more rooms with kings and they forgot to tell me about it when I did the check in at 3:30pm.

- 3/5
Darlene at the front desk was the most unpleasant staff member of all. My expectations of the front desk are that they should be welcoming, friendly, someone who can help, etc. This was not Darlene. From the second I walked up to the front desk, she wanted to make every interaction a challenge. She didn't smile, was unpleasant and had to leave the desk to get answers from other staff members bc she didn't know what to say. Unfortunately, I have to rate this a 3 experience because of how this individual. She should not be guest facing in my opinion.
- 3/5
Room was clean and breakfast was sufficient for be g included. It wasn’t noisy with slamming doors however the beds and the decor need help. Both my son and I broke out in rashes both nights the moment we sat on the beds.
- 5/5
Definitely wiil be back.
- 3/5
Bad - location was awful with the unhoused. They are very aggressive and we did not feel safe outside.
- 5/5
Clean room, walking distance from Santa Monica pier, nice staff. The only thing was that i found valet parking too expensive - $60 / night
- 2/5
--Task chair very worn and ratty looking. --Breakfast had some quality issues: oatmeal was overcooked to the point of being mush. Sausages were tasteless; looked like they were boiled instead of grilled.
- 3/5
The room was a good size and the bathroom very clean. But the furniture in the room and on the balcony was not very clean which was disappointing. On a positive note… the breakfast was excellent.
- 5/5
Beautiful and clean room. Complete breakfast with many options.
- 5/5
The room was clean and smells fresh. Is it a walking distance to the Santa Monica Pier, Third Street Promenade and shopping mall. A block away from the Metro station, very convenient. The staff are very friendly.
- 3/5
Valet man was amazing and the most helpful. Booked this hotel as it has a laundry. First hotel with a laundry we couldn’t use. They had no quarters from check in to check out. A full load wash and dry required 32 quarters. People don’t travel with a bucket of coins, please put in a change machine or change them to updates ones that take card or app payments so people can use it. If I’d known I’d have booked a place opposite the pier for the same price
- 2/5
Bad service
- 5/5
The room was amazing! We stayed in a king bed suite and it was very spacious. Huge balcony with furniture to use. Decent view but only partially ocean view. The breakfast was incredible. The staff was super courteous and everything was very clean. The bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Everything was 👍
- 5/5
Great room and facilities, having breakfast included daily was wonderful however the quality of food could be improved. It was good enough however. Surrounding area isn’t overly clean but that’s Santa Monica. Homelessness everywhere

The room was mid at best, furniture was outdated & the room could have used additional cleaning.

Great location. Super clean and comfortable rooms. Great breakfast, love the waffles. Wish there was self or public parking available nearby. The valet rate was expensive.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel. As we felt safe in and around hotel, the neighborhood had a lot of homeless with mental health concerns that at times made us feel uncomfortable. There is wonderful safety measures in place for gaining access to the building. Breakfast options were plenty, but did have some problems with food temperature maintenance over the 3 days of having breakfast in the lobby. Room was comfortable and staff were kind, professional, and checked in throughout the stay. It is right across from the E Line Metro, allowing for transportation options during your visit.
- 4/5
The room was very nice! I'm from LA, and I was still impressed with the proximity of everything. An easy walk to the promenade, benihanas, trader joes is down the street, train station across the street (even though its a bit loud if you have a street facing room). Overall the staff was nice and the hotel was clean. Beware the homeless in santa monica, they can be a little agressive if you are walking around at night.
- 5/5
Room spotless. Staff excellant. Location great.

The walls of the room where to thin as you could here guest in the next room as not good. Breakfast wasn’t that interested as well as lack of food. The good thing was the coffee downstairs at reception all day. Didn’t like I had to my key to get into the hotel but as I did see a lot homeless there in the area that is probers why,
- 1/5
We stayed in a room with a king-size bed and it was spacious. Cons: We were told that the “Do Not Disturb” sign had to be off by 7 AM for housekeeping to clean the room. I’ve never experienced this before, and I’ve stayed at many hotels. We left the room around 9 AM, spent the whole day out, and came back at 11 PM to no fresh towels or anything. Quite odd. The washroom also didn’t have basic necessities: no cups, cotton pads, Q-tips, or a shower cap. Not a huge deal, but it would’ve been nice. The chairs in the room were very worn out-lots of visible wear and tear, and honestly a bit gross to sit on. The blankets were also disappointing. The duvet cover kept slipping off the moment you pulled on it, and overall it just wasn’t comfortable.
- 1/5
When I asked to move rooms, they moved me to a room opposite the Metro Rail station (and I mean literally across the street) where a train bell is HAMMERING every 8 minutes all day. I had to find another hotel (at significant expense) and they wouldn’t even refund me the night that I didn’t stay there, as I had already checked in. If you’re a light sleeper, or you enjoy a room that doesn’t shake and thump all night - avoid this hotel. They clearly have not invested in proper ceiling materials. The noise is quite incredible.
- 5/5
Bed was ok
- 5/5
Nice room, friendly staff, good breakfast
- 5/5
Super clean and excellent customer service!
- 3/5
Bad room wifi, fair breakfast, clean room, newer hotel. At checkout, mgr said I shud have talked to front desk about bad / super slow wifi in room, cuz they'd have engaged their tech person. Powdered scrambled eggs. No hard boiled eggs or peanut butter. OK oatmeal and chicken or pork patties. Liked clean & newish, so would stay here again, despite above plus $70/day parking. Also, area around hotel during day is fairly busy, so OK for single woman to walk the 1/4 mile to the beach: would not walk around alone at night.
- 5/5
Just 3 issues: 1. The fan of air conditioning in the room starts it makes too much sound. My wife used to wake up in the middle of the night due to the fan sound. 2. For 2-3 days in a row, the breakfast had two pork options and egg.. instead of 2 pork option, there should at least be one chicken option so that people with dietary or health restrictions do not go hungry. 3. There is only one common microwave. People have to wait a lot if someone is heating their frozen foods. There should at least be two microwaves.
- 4/5
Everything was good, until I went to check out early, due to my flight leaving at 1:30am. The front desk clerk immediately said I couldn’t get a refund with a nasty tone. I told her I did not want a refund, I simply wanted to check out early. The clerk continued to be nasty and disrespectful until someone else took over and checked me out.
- 4/5
Perfect Location, Nice staff, warm water pool and free breakfast but not table table. The biggest issues are the parking since their valet parking is very expensive and too many homeless & drug addicted around property due to shelter building across the street.
- 3/5
Nowhere, does it say that there will be a mandatory valet parking fee. Absolutely no ocean view as seen on the pictures
- 5/5
The service was great all around. We will stay there again next time we come out there

- 2/5
The room had very little ventilation. As soon as you get out of the shower, it feels very humid. We will not be returning guests just because of the area, there is an obvious homeless problem, one lady sat in the middle of the street at night in the rain luckily my husband is alert and aware or that could have ended very bad. Parking is a problem in the area as well. Just very inconvenient in my opinion. Staff were ok, breakfast was powdered eggs, microwaved sausage patties & bagels or toast (2 stars) the room itself was clean, beds weren't too bad. Not trying to be negative all the way around just being completely honest, this was the first and last time for us at any Hampton Inn.
- 4/5
Everything was fine, but parking was $70 per person!!
- 5/5
Room was great, spacious, clean, warm. The gym was we equipped.
- 4/5
Spotless room.
- 5/5
Clean room, Staff nice
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and the room was great
- 4/5
The room and the whole property were really clean and organized.
- 5/5
Overall, great stay for our quick trip. Quiet, comfortable, and clean!
- 2/5
The first hotel was on the fourth floor, which was experiencing complete construction work on the hallways. I requested a move and they granted it I found the front desk staff in different and then professional. I didn’t like that they were the center of communication and yet they were unfriendly and unhelpful. I will not choose to stay at another Hampton hotel.
- 1/5
Would not honour a policy that is written in black and white and offered ZERO customer service! Would never stay here and would not recommend to ever stay with this chain. Thanks for ruining an entire vacation!
- 5/5
I would only leave a small disappointment regarding our view. We were given a room on the 3rd floor and we had paid extra for a balcony, only to find out our entire balcony was covered by a tree. When I mean entire; I mean entire. I would just suggest that the receptionist (or website) states that specific rooms have a blocked view. Maybe even use it as an “upgrade opportunity”.
- 4/5
Staff. Kenneth at the front desk & Fernando at the Valet.
- 4/5
The staff were great.
- 5/5
It was clean and organized. Definitely recommend this location
- 5/5
Breakfast
- 5/5
Amazing staff, clean room, and excellent breakfast buffet!
- 4/5
The room was nice and clean, the stay itself was very good but what they don't tell you is it's vallet parking only and that is $60 per day. The vallet guys were awesome.
- 5/5
2 night stay here, and we recommend this hotel. n
- 5/5
I really felt this was a great hotel. Service, breakfast, pool, location It was really great for us
- 3/5
Not very fancy rooms, key didnt work
- 4/5
Good size room, location
- 3/5
Came early and asked to pre check in. Told no and to come back at 4. I work in hotels and I completely understand rooms not being available early. Not being friendly and just saying we dont do that is not hospitality
- 5/5
Clean rooms, pleasant staff and an easy stroll to the SM Pier!
- 5/5
Nice hotel very convenient
- 5/5
Hotel was very clean, friendly - just like all of their hotels. The location is great, a short walk to the pier and beach.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Spotless room, attentive staff, unbeatable location!
- 1/5
The Front desk receptionist at the Hampton were unprofessional and rude. I had to call Expedia to correct my travel information and the receptionist was very disrespectful. The receptionist walked off while I was trying to check in. I tried to explain to the receptionist that my travel information was updated and have her speak to the Expedia representative and she refused. Poor customer service at the Hampton!!!

Location
- 2/5
We were placed in room 222 with two kids. The room is literally a few metres away from the tube rail tracks. Imagine the noise from 4.30 to midnight. No one could sleep. Fortunately, the lady at the reception moved us further and up away. I absolutely hated breakfast- no choice, warmish potato, sweet sausage, artificial taste yogurts. On top-I’ve never seen it in other hotels, and I travel the world- paper plates and plastic cutlery. Worse than at the petrol station in the middle of nowhere. The last but not the least-the beggars from the street managed to come a few times inside, no need to comment on this. The price is over for what the hotel can offer. Being a Hilton Honors member-complete disappointment.
- 5/5
The entire staff was extremely nice and one of the best Hampton Inn / Hotel experience’s I’ve had in a decade. The ladies working the front desk, cleaning lady on the 3rd floor, and Trey on the late night shift were fabulous! Oscar on security was also such a professional and outstanding worker. You should be very proud of your team and recognize them for their dedicated work!
- 5/5
good room great location. can walk. Parking is expensive and valet only.
- 5/5
Parking costs $60 and there is a $100 per fee, so that adds quite a bit to the rooms rate, but the price is very affordable so it all made sense to me.
- 3/5
I encountered some weird and frustrating problems during my stay. My reservation could not be located and I first checked in because it was under someone else’s name entirely (a woman’s name not similar to mine in any way). No one could explain how this happened. I also spent a morning locked out of my room when the security latch closed behind me. This was eventually resolved but the hotel staff’s attitude was basically, “Yeah, that happens.”

Breakfast was good didn't have a balcony room was nice and clean. We were only there one night, but it was nice. We had a good time.
- 5/5
Great location, good breakfast and clean. The pool was warm and great
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
Loud - heard trains all night / morning. Lots of homeless people right by the entrance. TV did not work. Never again for me.
- 3/5
clean room
- 5/5
enjoy the stay
- 5/5
Staff friendly and clean environment
- 4/5
This Hampton Inn & Suites is relatively new and has a very clean and nice design, with sizeable rooms and elevators. The lobby area is spacious, and the complimentary breakfasts were a nice bonus. The staff were kind and responsive. And for the Santa Monica CA area, the price was very reasonable. A great stay I must say!
- 4/5
The hotel was in a good location and close to the Pier and shopping. Overall very good hotel except front desk staff wasn’t very accommodating or friendly. I wasn’t aware that parking was by valet only at $70 a night. They did not have any other suggestions for us when it came to parking and would not honour my Hilton Honours membership because I booked through a 3 rd party. I was not aware of these rules and they were very rude about it. We just stayed in Anaheim at a Homewood Suites (also a Hilton Honours Hotel). They were friendly accommodating and gave us our water every day as Hilton members. No reason to be rude to people
- 4/5
The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Full size products such as bodywash, shampoo, conditioner hand wash and lotion. Very close to the 3rd street promenade, Target and Trader Joe's. I would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
Good stay. Bad bedding. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
The room, the stuff, the breakfast were all excellent
- 5/5
Friendly and accommodating staff
- 3/5
I was surprised to see so many homeless people around the property which required the security and the need to use your key for everything but I did feel secure in the property
- 5/5
Fantastic stay with my family
- 1/5
Check in was a nightmare was unaware visa debt would be a problem as I booked the property based on visa debt not being highlighted as an issue with many other hotels staff was initially not willing to let us stay and was quick to comment we wouldn’t be refunded the stay due to something in the fine print. Not a great way to start a stay at a 400$/night hotel will be staying at other properties after this experience.
- 5/5
The balcony view was beautiful and had a very nice breakfast at the hotel
- 4/5
The handicap room was great but it needed a longer shower curtain. Water leaked onto the floor.
- 3/5
I believe there should have been some compensation for this as it did cost me time with clients.
- 5/5
Great spot by the Pier!
- 4/5
Some of the staff were really helpful, some not so much. Breakfast was pretty good mix of standard items. It was good having a Trader Joes next door and being able to walk to the pier
- 2/5
Floors are not sound proof so we got woken up by people stomping above us at 6am.
- 4/5
We stayed here with our young kids. We enjoyed the convenient location and pool.
- 4/5
The hotel itself was really nice and in a great location, close to Santa Monica Boulevard and everything we wanted to see. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The only downside was the number of homeless people around the area — I felt a bit uncomfortable walking back to the hotel at night. Overall though, it was still a great stay and a good base for exploring LA.
- 3/5
10 minute walk from pier very convenient
- 1/5
Very noisy rooms including a garbage truck most mornings outside Breakfast included was horrible Would look at other options in the area The good was the heated pool and it was clean.
- 5/5
Good place to stay very convenient and good rate in September.
- 5/5
Clean , very friendly staff
- 5/5
great
- 4/5
Bom custo benefício. Boa localização - próximo as ruas com comércio e a praia.
- 5/5
Across the road from the Santa Monica Metro Station - it is a short walking distance to the pier, shopping/dining area and good priced parking. Had the added feature of a pool/spa area and breakfast - which again was good given the price/value of the property - would recommend
- 2/5
After doing research online for a walkable, family-friendly hotel, we decided to stay here. The location is good, but unfortunately the walls have very poor sound insulation. We could clearly hear noise from other rooms, and twice security knocked on our door with noise complaints about our toddler. Disappointing breakfast.
- 4/5
Room was very clean. We didn’t get service one day for towels and coffee and I was told it’s because we didn’t have our do not disturb sign off before 7am. Most people on vacation are not out of the room by 7 am so that was very odd. Also the front desk did not have coins for laundry and the was no change machine.
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5

- 3/5
My room was facing the street where train in passing. I couldn't sleep all night. When I asked for a room change, the Receptionist was super rude.
- 5/5
Aesthetically designed property with great staff and accessibility to major locations.
- 5/5
Wonderful views!
- 5/5
We would stay here again! The staff was very friendly. The hotel and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was really good. Walkable to the beach and wharf. If you enjoy walking, you can make it to the Funk Zone for dining and ice cream! There is a large homeless population at the park across the street and by beach, but we were never approached by them. We felt safe everywhere we walked.
- 5/5
Alot of homeless people around the outside of the hotel. Plus 60$ a day added on to park your vehicle..
- 5/5
A nice place to stay
- 5/5
Na
- 5/5
The hotel was clean & staff was professional, we were very happy and impressed.
- 4/5
The rooms were super clean and the beds were amazing. Breakfast was good. The front desk wasnt very helpful and acted like it was a bother when you approached them.
- 4/5
The bed was horribly uncomfortable. You could feel the springs through the mattress.
- 5/5
The hotel is centrally located near the Santa Monica pier and right next to the Metro E light rail line. This is a very convenient way to explore Los Angeles and the surrounding area. For example, the E line takes you directly to the Broad Museum in about 45 minutes. Note: depending on the room you book, you may experience noise from the train, but this shouldn't deter anyone from visiting the hotel Earplugs will mitigate this. You can walk to a major supermarket within two minutes and there's a nice restaurant on 6th and Broadway that serves breakfast. The pier is about a five minute walk from the hotel and there are multiple restaurant options near the pier. The hotel staff were professional and friendly--I truly felt welcomed. The complimentary breakfast was sufficient and I appreciated the coffee in the lobby. Overall, my stay was very enjoyable and I will return.
- 5/5
Highly Recommend
- 2/5
If you would like it quiet in your room this is not the hotel for you. There are trains that run all night under your bedroom window that sound like someone roller-skating in your bedroom. We could also hear every step in the room above us. The service was also lacking. We arrived at 4PM ( checkin time) but did not get a room for 55 minutes, when they sent us to the wrong room before we got to our room. When the TV stoped working I went to bed early. When I called the front desk at 5 AM for help with the TV I was told that no one could help me until 8 AM. Their breakfast buffet was excellent.
- 5/5
This is my go to hotel for all business trips to Los Angeles. Will be back for my next business trip.
- 5/5
It had easy access to everything
- 5/5
The included breakfast was very good quality and great selection of options, even better than most other Hampton Inns. The only bothersome feature was $60/night charge for valet parking, but the valet service was efficient with helpful staff.
- 4/5
Everything is very good, except parking fee is very expensive for customers stay overnight.
- 3/5
2.Balcony chairs were very dirty to the point you could not sit on them. 3.No glasses available for a night cap which we wanted to do out on the balcony after our meeting that night. 4.Bed was very uncomfortable, and blackout drapes do not work light comes in over the top.
- 1/5
The bed was awful we couldn’t sleep all nigh, old mattress poor quality and small size bedding
- 1/5
I’m making sure new guests know all the access points how to use the card in Santa Monica needing it for the elevator needing it to get in needing it for your room different television did not work. Didn’t have service cable down when I inquired about it. They said they would do something about it, but the rep wasn’t in till nine. I never got any television viewing. I feel robbed. I’m not satisfied at all. I am requesting a discount. It was more of an inconvenience. Mandatory parking rates the breakfast was awesome. I gotta give you that.
- 5/5
Would stay again
- 2/5
Dog fee was higher than advertised and included a per night fee, which makes no sense. Breakfast was delayed one morning by 90 minutes.
- 5/5
I loved our stay
- 5/5
Pleasant staff. Secure and safe. Easy to park but $60/day.
- 5/5
The location is great for the price, I felt safe and secure at this hotel, which is always my first priority when traveling. Some of the furniture was a little rundown in my room but I felt clean.
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
We really loved this property. It was one of the nicer Hampton ends we have stayed at. We had a nice room that overlooked the pool. Property was really big and borderline fancy. Having said that, the person that checked us in wasn’t that friendly. I needed a toothbrush and the person that gave it to us downstairs wasn’t that friendly either. And then during the breakfast rush probably around 8:30 AM the trash was overflowing everywhere. There were no utensils left and couldn’t find condiments. They let the breakfast area get kinda nasty during the service. I’m guessing maybe they were short staffed as this is not our typical Hampton Inn experience with service. Would definitely give this property another chance. It’s really very nice
- 1/5
When I went to the front desk, Darlene handled the situation. She told me, “If you do not remove the disturb sign by 7 a.m. for service, the room won’t be cleaned. The housekeepers are all gone, so we cannot clean your room.” When I asked why this was not explained at check-in, she said, “I gave you a piece of the paper and it is your responsibility to read it.” Her tone was condescending and dismissive, and she made it clear she did not care about my complaint. I have been a loyal Hampton guest for 10-15 years, and this was by far the worst service I have ever received. I cannot recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
The location of this hotel is great. You only nee walk straight toward the ocean and see the famous Santa Monica pier. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms, we felt very comfortable.
- 5/5
most of the staff were nice. hot breakfast and good options.
- 5/5
They were wonderful - so pleased and would definitely recommend them
- 5/5
The gentleman at check in was awesome. He upgraded our room to a suite and it totally elevated our stay. Room was clean and comfortable and close to everything! We would stay again.
- 1/5
I will no longer be using this app for my reservations
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly Everything was very clean. I appreciated having
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and check-in / check-out was a breeze. The room was gorgeous and very clean with a beautiful view from the balcony. The hotel was nice and quiet. The location is perfect for walking to just about everything including the beach. The hotel is across from the Metro Line so foot traffic is busy around the area but it's also very convenient if you want to take public transportation to downtown LA.
- 5/5
Great location, just a few blocks from the boardwalk. Rooms very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Fantastic continental breakfast included!
- 5/5
Nice staff
- 5/5
We loved everything and felt comfortable and the breakfast was great, will definitely be staying here again!
- 5/5
Very clean and organized
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and lovely place.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
So friendly
- 4/5
Clean close to the beach and metro and bus. Whole area is pricey. Only thing is some transit’s are pine area as it is beach and main area for tourists. Hotel well organised breakfast is olay and better than most Hamptons.
- 4/5
Everything was great! We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the facilities, such as the pool and hot tub. The only issue was the guest upstairs that kept stomping very loudly, even after submitting complaints with staff.
- 5/5
Great reception. They lock the entrances 24hrs so you’re safe even thought its by the metro.
- 5/5
Good Property. Expensive Parking
- 5/5
Amazing hotel to stay. This hotel rooms are super clean!! The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is conveniently located by Target and Trader Joe’s. Only a few blocks away from a shopping mall and the beach. The free breakfast is delicious. I highly recommend to stay at the Hampton Inn.
- 5/5
It was great!!
- 4/5
The staff is not very friendly and they were dismissive towards me from the start I arrived early in the morning the person at the desk told me to not come back until 4pm not even requesting my number to let me know when the room is ready and I stayed the for 3 nights the older gentleman was not friendly also and he did not acknowledge me standing and taking other guest ahead of me which I had to call him out on it the breakfast location and room are ok but the staff will be retrained how treat guests
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Convenient location. Really comfy bed.
- 5/5
Safe.
- 4/5
Hotel was great just had to call front desk about the noise above our room. Security was sent but noise continued until 1:30am and started again about 5am.
- 4/5
Overall stay for 1 night was good!
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
Very nice balcony
- 1/5
Room smelled like body ordor. Noise from train and buses. not enough towels.
- 5/5
3 blocks away from SM Pier. Safe/secure building. Excellent breakfast. Indoor pool. Valet parking was 100% worth it. Be nice and tip the kid who brings you your car!
- 5/5
The only thing I didn’t like that you need to pay extra for the parking it should be in the hotel price and the pool is so small
- 2/5
The place and staff were great, but while our room was being cleaned, a piece of clothing was taken with the linens. No one I spoke to made any effort to look into it.
- 4/5
Clean and neat room and wider than my expectation.
- 5/5
The hotel is great just the area is a bit questionable.
- 5/5
The team at the front desk were wonderful, hot tea and coffee always available in the lobby, hot breakfast was plentiful and the room was quiet what else could you ask for!
- 3/5
This is not a property I’d recommend if you have toddlers/a disability. They told me during my stay that they have a policy where no one can bring up delivered food. I am blind and was travelling alone with my 2 toddlers. I rely on staff to accommodate. Sadly, this hindered our trip’s smoothness a lot and we had to leave our reservation early. The hotel itself was nice enough, but the dining and helpfulness options were simply not what I’d expect for the amount I paid.
- 5/5
Great Customer Service
- 4/5
Love the large rooms. We brought our e-scooters from home and there was plenty of space to park them inside our room. Also, glad the floors were hard and not carpet as we brought most of the sand back from the beach with us.
- 5/5
Delightful hotel
- 5/5
Staff was amazing hotel was very nice
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
Line up to register. The attitude or lack of one with the security guard, The none appearance of anyone while we wanted to check out and head to a hospital for surgery. Waited and waited and waited and finally left a note to check out. Guard told me she was making coffee and left her phone on the desk and he couldn't reach her even if she had it??? Pathetic. Parking folks great
- 3/5
When approaching the desk the receptionist was on the phone with what seemed like a personal call. She was complaining to someone about her schedule. She wasn't very nice at first. There is also a $75 hold per night that you stay with them which for us totaled out to be $150 in total. That, on top of the extra $240 for parking was more than my credit card could handle. Our room was clean but did not have any trashliners in any of the trashbins which felt and looked very unsanitary to me. There was noone keeping up on the pool towel laundry and we had to request for more towels to be brought up. There was valet parking available on site however it was an added charge that I was not expecting. I didn't see the cost of the parking on their website otherwise I would have made other arrangements for parking as my room had 2 vehicles. Overall I felt like the employees were not satisfied with their jobs and liked to complain a lot. The gentleman who helped me with checking out was the only person who was friendly and he was the only person who seemed to be understanding of my financial situation as there were a lot of unexpected expenses that came with booking this property.
- 5/5
My stay was very pleasant and I had everything I needed. The staff was very friendly and I loved the breakfast. It’s really close to the station too if you don’t have a car
- 5/5
Cleaned and courteous staff
- 3/5
This hotel is closely located to Santa Monica pier, third street promenade and a variety of dining options. We had a room the faced the metro so while we could definitely hear the passing trains it wasn’t a huge issue. But we could clearly hear the guests in the hallway. The kids running around on the floor above us and the worst was there was an adjoining room next to us where we could hear every sneeze and conversation and tv blaring. Otherwise breakfast was your typical hotel chain selection. The pool was sad and tiny so don’t book if that’s part of what you want. If the price works for you the location is easy but we mostly needed a last minute hotel and I wouldn’t necessarily choose this one again given there are so many options in the area
- 3/5
From about 3AM-until we checked out all we heard was running or furniture moving above us. It was loud and not worth our 1 night stay. Not the hotel if you’re looking for a quiet calm family environment.
- 1/5
Additionally, the imposition of a $60 parking fee can add an unwelcome financial burden, especially after a long day that necessitates a period of relaxation and recuperation. These factors can detract from the anticipated reprieve one seeks at the end of a demanding day, transforming what should be a moment of rest into an experience fraught with stress and distraction. In such circumstances, it becomes imperative to address not only personal needs for relaxation but also the broader context in which these daily challenges occur.
- 5/5
This was a perfect location, very clean, close walk to pier, Target, Trader Joe’s and lots of restaurants nearby.
- 5/5
Great spot to stay!!!
- 5/5
Easy friendly check in.
- 5/5
The property was great but the amount of homeless druged out people in the area made me feel unsafe.
- 5/5
Good security, comfortable clean rooms, quiet, good breakfast, friendly helpful staff.
- 5/5
The experience was amazing, I was very tired after a flight got delayed so I didn’t get to enjoy all of the hotels amenities but what I did get to see, was amazing. Also the staff was incredibly friendly, including the cleaning lady she was so nice, the only one who was a little too serious was an employee at the front when I asked him for pool hours, but besides that everything was amazing
- 5/5
Love it
- 1/5
This property was pretty dirty, very noisy with very loud foot steps from 1-4am.
- 3/5
Achei a região perigosa segurança falia , tinha um andarilho infiltrado no café da manhã que por sinal era muito ruim , pelo alto valor da estadia não confia com o hotel simples e estacionamento custou 70 dólares por uma diária absurdo
- 4/5
Cons: rooms wreaked of bleach, parking is $60 a night, and the swimming pool is the size of a postage stamp.
