Reviews
The hotel received mixed reviews with guests appreciating the cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. However, there were consistent complaints about the quality of breakfast, issues with AC units, and some rooms having a musty smell.

Nice lobby, breakfast area and pool. Beds sooooo comfortable. Just needs some updating to outside of building

There was a big mixup when I called to confirm my reservation and spoke with a man. I was told I didn't have a reservation so I registered again since there were 2 days until check in. I was charged anyway for the "non existent" reservation. The female desk clerk was professional but I wasn't happy with the extra charge. Otherwise the accommodations were great.
- 2/5
There is a damp smell in the room and in the corridor. The bed is not comfortable. The towels are old and very stiff, some of them have holes. All the furniture in the room is quite worn out. Breakfasts weren't great either (the orange juice had a very strange taste, like it was spoiled, so everyone who tried it threw it away)
- 1/5
The bed was also awful, felt no better than an old sofa bed. The springs were very hard and uncomfortable, and the platform was a metal platform with no support. When you sat on the bed, you sank all the way down to that platform as well. With the number of decent hotels within just a few blocks, there are plenty of better options.

ok some food could have been hotter borderline warm

The location The breakfast was old food. Everything was stale and the eggs were rubbery. It was very disappointing. Great deal on room but we stay for the breakfast to save more money. That didn't happen so I will pay a little more and still save money elsewhere.
- 3/5
The staff was very nice and friendly The hotel room was hot and stuffy most times. The mattress was loud and I could feel the metal springs so i didn't sleep well. The shower had rust spots that kinda creeped me out. And the shower felt nice ( pressure wise) but the water is soooo hard. After my shower my body was void of any moisture I had in it.

I had a very pleasant stay here! I was down in Houston for my son’s school trip to NASA and the Kemah boardwalk. I spent about 3 days here and it was enjoyable. It was a pretty fair and affordable price. But that did reflect a slight bit on the quality of the hotel. However what was most important to me and really stuck out was the kindness from the manager he also might have been the owner I’m not completely sure. And the kindness and amazing service I received from the housekeeping staff as well. I was very impressed! The manager was friendly and helped answer my questions. I was out of things for my room at one point and he made sure to restock me with supplies. I remember him pointing us to the pool when we were trying to find it also. He was helpful and friendly. It meant alot! I also loved the housekeeping staff! The super sweet housekeeping staff came to my room every day to help me! They were so kind and thoughtful! They came every day to check on us to see if we needed to throw any trash away they also always restocked me and gave me extra towels as well. That really meant a lot to me! I remember one of the days i was there I believe the manager actually was making the housekeeping rounds and helped assist in helping with housekeeping. I thought that was very nice and involved for a manager to help with housekeeping. I also loved how surprisingly comfortable the beds are here! I had the best sleep ever!

Quite place!

We had a room that had a metal platform bed and every time you moved the metal would pop, all night long. Come to find out next day when leaving others said their beds were great and not metal. Also the water would not shut off in the tub all the way. I went to front desk to tell them about both issues but no one ever came up front so we had to leave. it could have been a great hotel if not for that.

The room itself was clean and everything about it was very nice. It’s a very nice establishment though it is 21 or older to book which websites did not say nor was it brought up at all until check-in. Though I understand that some hotels think it’s better. There should be at least something that says you have to be 21 to book.

Very comfortable hotel, felt peaceful, the location was perfect for what we went for, right in the midpoint for the outlets and Kemah Boardwalk, loved it

We stay here often. It doesn't matter who checks us in, that person is always friendly and seems really glad to see us. The hotel is quiet and clean. The beds, especially the sheets, are very comfortable. The breakfast is adequate. We also appreciate the free Tesla charger. I would like the in-room coffee to be just a little better quality. I would also appreciate having some tea for breakfast.

We have a problem with Hotel.com. We wanted to cancel one room, but I was not able to do it. My booking didn’t show up in Hotel.com . I received email of my booking. When I try to edit my booking, link was not working. I tried to look my booking by booking number, it didn’t work. I end up paying two room charges to the hotel instead of one. Why this happened please explain.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay! Checkin was very quick and easy. The family suite we stayed in was nice, big and beautiful. The place was clean
- 4/5
I can’t say enough about how great the staff is. They were receptive to concerns that I had and took care of things in very quick manner.

Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was decent. They had many options from biscuits & gravy, eggs, cereal, bagels, toast, yogurt, oatmeal, or Texas shaped waffle you can make fresh. Checking in and out was pretty quick and easy. Good budget hotel for a day at NASA or Kemah Boardwalk.

We stayed at the Kemah Edgewater Hotel, SureStay Collection by Best Western for one night to be close to the cruise departure terminal. The facility is well maintained, though a bit outdated. It met our needs well for a short stay. There was a slight musky smell, likely due to the building’s age, but overall it was an acceptable and convenient option for an overnight stay.🌟🌟🌟
- 2/5
Staff was rude. Charged $10 to check in early when the hotel was empty.

It is a good motel for people traveling for work , in a bind, or .. it’s far from luxury but it has smoking and non-smoking. Ya, got options.
- 3/5
The room was nice and the location was good. However, I did not appreciate having the staff knocking on my door repeatedly 10-15 mins before checkout. I knew that checkout time was at 11, I did not need or ask for a reminder. The hotel was empty, so there should have been no rush. I’ve never had that happen before and I felt it was unprofessional, unnecessary and somewhat invasive.

- 4/5
AC great. Staff very kind and helpful. Quiet, rarely heard anyone. Room service excellent.
- 5/5
We had a problem with our car. They sent us to a mechanic and had it fix in an hour, on a Saturday.
- 5/5
The hotel just really needs updating and could be kept a little cleaner. The eggs were terrible!! They were cut into small squares and were hard and rubbery. Overall, it was not a bad stay. The staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Excellent, kind and very helpful staff. Sparkling clean facility. Close to water attractions.
- 2/5
The Hotel was very stinky. It had a bad odor throughout the whole hotel. The front desk clerk was rude and prejudiced, even the manager, Danny. I DO NOT recommend this hotel. I will never stay here again!!!

The reservation made on Expedia, inadvertently for the wrong date. Which I did not discover until I received an email asking me to rate my stay. I contacted the Hotel directly, they said to contact Expedia. At first, I regretted using Expedia but when I contacted Expedia, they were helpful. They said they would have to reach out to the Hotel to make an exception, due to the obvious error online. Expedia reached out while I was on the line with them and this was the response "Thank you for patiently waiting. I was able to spoke with the supervisor at the hotel and it breaks my heart to share this information with you and despite my best effort they are not allowing us to issue a refund. They told me that there will be no refund and any excuses..." This response goes beyond the online error, beyond the often caveats of working through a third party (Expedia) and lands right on human unforgiveness and greed. Thank you Expedia for helping me to decide to blacklist this Hotel whenever I am in the area.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay and if ever again in the area I would stay there and definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Great value for the money.

Front desk staff upon check-in was not very friendly at all. The room had a bad smell that we noticed immediately. During breakfast hours, the dining area had a smell as though they had just wiped down everything with dirty towels. We realized as we were leaving breakfast that they had left a giant hamper of (I assume) dirty sheets or towels right outside the door of the dining area. Will not be staying here again.

Location perfect for us, close to Kemah, great breakfast, all convenient. Room nice King with sofa bed. The overnight stay was perfect.
- 2/5
Mirror in bathroom was taped up where it was broken on edges. Our TV was not working and a remote was missing, although the night attendant was nice and she came and got it working. Actually had to play with wires for it to come on. The room was musty and smelled. Breakfast was what you would expect from a lower star hotel. Just not that good. We were in handicap accessible room that had a tub. (Should have had a walk in shower) I could therefore not have a shower for 2 days until I returned home.
- 5/5
We enjoyed the pool and breakfast.
- 5/5
We had a great stay.. our 2nd time to stay here and will be back when we visit family again. Staff was friendly, clean rooms, really comfy king bed, cleaning crew was very nice, breakfast was good, did not see one bug, no weird smells, I traveled alone with my daughter and felt very safe.

This is the WORST place to stay at. My family had the most unpleasant experience at this hotel with their rooms and poor service. The manager yelled at me, kept putting his hand in my face, and was speaking over me to my husband. Both rooms we reserved smelled terrible, bedsheets and carpets were wet which we explained to the front desk which they tried to blame on their use of air freshener- but if it was the air freshener that made everything damp then the room would smell good? The AC device in one of the rooms started smoking when we turned it on. Unsafe hotel, rude management, I would rather sleep on the street than go anywhere near that hotel. The police had to get involved and they told us that they have issues with this hotel all the time and that it was one of the lowest quality hotels in the area.
- 3/5
The manager was nice, wouldn’t give me a receipt at check in or out after I asked, the property smelled musty or like water damage. The ice machine was missing upstairs, the breakfast wasn’t available during the time listed.
- 4/5
The check-in was fast, room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Overall a good experience.
- 2/5
The manager guy was not very friendly either. There are ways to ask for things without having to be rude about it. While I understand that checkout is at 11am, sometimes with little kids it’s not always that simple. Things happen at the last minute and as a parent you have to tend to it. 12 minutes past the checkout time the manager guy was loudly knocking at the door demanding we leave. Again, is how you talk to people. Overall, it was not very pleasant. We stay at hotels at least once every month and we will not be staying at this hotel. Stay away.

Excellent customer service! Thank you Danny!

Quiet, clean, excellent staff, well maintained .
- 5/5
Very comfortable.

Breakfast was OK (barely)
- 5/5
The hotel has been updated and felt very clean. It was a comfortable stay. The a/c unit was having a hard time cooling off and the smell was musty, probably needed the filter changed. Over all it was clean.
- 1/5
Very rude staff and manager.
- 4/5
The room smelled like old water and the pool needs to be cleaned.. other than that it was a great experience
- 3/5
Nice property, if you have more people in your party other than what’s listed they charge you an extra 10 a night fee. On our first night we found a baby roach on our pillow. Other than that it was a pretty good hotel.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
We passed it by several times before we realized that was our destination. Otherwise no issues at all. Love the staff
- 5/5
The Kemah Edgewater is a nice place to stay. Close to all the happenings, but far enough away to be cost effective. It's nothing fancy, but it's clean and affordable.
- 1/5
They charged me extra when we got there because i had two kids under 10. I asked to buy a water and they had it with A pad lock. They told me they only take Cash for the drinks. The room was musty and smelled lile mildew. They weren't very friendly to certain people. The breakfast biscuits and gravy tasted the dish soap water. The TV internet wasnt working. It took me 45 minutes to set it up so we can watch Netflix.
- 4/5
It’s ok for the money, you get what you pay for. My wife didn’t like the smell of humidity that was in the room. I didn’t mind it thou.

Very pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, quiet and convenient to area attractions.
- 5/5
It was a good hotel in town
- 5/5
The hotel was exceptionally clean. The staff was friendly, our room was up to date with standard furnishings, and very very clean. Included in the room was a refrigerator and microwave, The complementary breakfast was good with several options available The bed was perfectly comfortable.
- 5/5
Very clean. Easy check-in and check out. Mediocre breakfast buffet but coffee is available 24/7! Pool was excellent. Close to numerous restaurants in the Seabrook/Kemah area. Room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.
- 4/5
Good deal for the price.
- 3/5
Property was clean would of been 5 stars but the customer service was absolutely horrible and breakfast was worst I’ve ever had at a hotel.
- 1/5
The man at the front desk was very rude and disrespectful. The other employees were amazing and the breakfast was great, just the man working the front desk was very rude.
- 1/5
Very rude staff & beds were uncomfortable

- 3/5
The room was clean. The bed wasn’t too hard but wasn’t exactly comfortable either. The room when you first walked in had a musty smell. Once I turned on the AC, which worked well, the smell dissipated. The waffles at breakfast were good, but that was about all that was good. The eggs were overcooked all 3 days we stayed. The only other hot food they had was biscuits and sausage gravy. The gravy was too watered down. There was no meat. They did have cereal and and a few breads.
- 4/5
The Kemah Edgewater Hotel was located conve

They have remodeled the hotel but still a little rundown but overall a good stay.
- 2/5
Early morning tenants were extremely noisy! Not hotels fault but you would think someone would say something
- 4/5
Good for price
- 4/5
The hotel was clean, updated, and quiet. It was also covenient to Kemah and NASA. The guest internet was not working and when I reported it the girl at the desk told me I was wrong. The only really sad part of an otherwise good stay was the hot items on the breakfast. There was no warmer under the eggs, biscuits, and gravy, so they were cold unless you happened to be there when they came out.
- 4/5
Staff was kind but i guess someone was smoking and they came in to check the room. My husband is a smoker but would do so un the parking lot. But I do understand. Other than that very nice and quiet
- 1/5
It was dirty pool was dirty it smelled like sewer the room had so much furniture you barely fit i would not ever go back.

It was perfect for a one nite stay before catching a cruise from Galveston. Everywhere was clean, comfy bed, enjoyable continental breakfast, convenient location. Would definitely stay again
- 1/5
I had paid reservations but arrived early so we parked the truck in the hotel parking lot and our daughter picked us up so we could visit with her. The hotel had our truck towed.
- 5/5
The hotel is centrally located. Minutes from NASA, and three minutes from the Boardwalk. Also very close to essential stores such as pharmacies, restaurants, Walmart, Target and Kroger. The downside of the hotel is that it needs to improve the breakfast. I chose this hotel because of the good reviews of the breakfast and to my surprise the breakfast consisted of waffles, cold cereal, coffee, bagels and twinkie. They did not have eggs, ham or bacon, or sausage. No hot food. The towels were clean, but several were in very bad condition, torn. The rooms were spacious, and have a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and TV. For two nights, the stay was fine.
- 5/5
Very pleased. Nice place for the price.
- 5/5
This was our 2nd stay, the staff was great and the room was nice

Stayed for a business trip. Parking lot is well lit. Room has extra lock for safety. Solo travelers will feel comfortable and safe. The room had slight wear and tear to some of the furniture from use but nothing inconvenient or major.
- 5/5
Clean, management was helpful when I thought I had to cancel second day, then restore original plan. Breakfast was continental, no eggs or meat. Close to several good restaurants.Did not use but pool looked clean.
- 5/5
Amazing property!
- 4/5
The place was clean and serviceable. There were some problems with the noisy air-conditioners keeping us awake and light that worked sometimes but not always. Beds comfortable.
- 3/5
The hotel and rooms were decent, however, we stayed in a family suite and it smelled strongly of mildew. I addressed with the front desk to see if all the rooms were that way (in case we could switch rooms if they weren't) and was told that they are, especially if the AC has been off. They gave me some odor eliminator to spray in the room. This only helped mask the smell for a short period.
- 5/5
I enjoyed this smaller hotel as it felt like home, Staff friendly and attentive to my needs. I would stay here again,

So, I booked for my husband and I for this trip Sept. 2024. We went to the room we were given and when I opened the door I couldn’t even walk in. The smell of musty mold was unbearable. We immediately went down to the desk and let the clerk know. She gave us another room. This room was not much better. My husband sprayed some body spray to try and help. At this point it was late and we regrettably stayed in the room. The next morning I went down to try and eat breakfast. The smell was horrible on the first floor. It smelled musty and like something was burning. When I checked out I told the man behind the desk and he didn’t seem bothered or concerned. I asked other people by the elevator if their rooms smelled and they all said there was a musty smell some were worse than others. We will not be booking stays here again.
- 5/5
We loved staying here. Rooms are clean. People friendly. Not to far from galveston maybe 25 mins to 35 mins. Also they have a downtown which is really nice shopes, amusement..Some Good Bars!

- 5/5
Convenient to where i was going.

Wifi is ridiculous. U dont have any and they charge to print a paper
- 5/5
There was roaches coming out of the shower drain. The bed mattress was super old that it would sink if you sat down. It felt like sleeping in a small sink hole. The breakfast area was clean, we were the only ones there so that caused them to only provide few of each item, if I had know breakfast would be like that I would have definitely stayed in bed.
- 5/5
Room was cool and quiet
- 4/5
Nice property. Would definitely stay again. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
- 4/5
It was good .but the tv set up was not very user friendly.
- 1/5
As for the breakfast, it was just OK. Pretty much the only thing edible was the waffles. The cream cheese had a weird texture and flavor. And then, interestingly, when they refunded the deposit, they decided to keep $6 for themselves. Cool, right? If you want to spend $120 on this garbage, I’d highly suggest paying an extra $10-$20 to get a nice hotel instead.
- 4/5

- 4/5
Easy stay! Convenient.
- 4/5
The stay was good overall but not an exceptional one. The room was clean. The room amenities could have been better though.
- 3/5
Me and my son had a great time great servuce
- 5/5
Was looking for an affordable location with great reviews. Our room was comfortable and a nice size with a King bed, couch, chair and desk. The hotel is a little older. Pool was not luxurious but clean, nice swim. Breakfast was continental and adequate. Shower was good, and bed was fine. Area felt safe. We'd stay again.
- 2/5
If you reserve a room through a third party like Expedia, they will make you leave a deposit of $50 plus “fees” for a total of $53. They don’t return the “fees” of course, just the deposit. It sounds like a racket to me. Multiply that over a month and they are grifting the masses. I won’t come here again.
- 4/5
Over all experience was good, especially how everything was centrally located either walking distance or driving.
- 4/5
Convenient
- 5/5
The front desk was outstanding. Very nice and welcoming
- 5/5
The check in was very easy and the desk clerk was amazing. very professional and friendly. Made us feel very welcome.
- 4/5
Very nice room. Great location too. Breakfast was pretty generic. There were actually twinkies served at breakfast. Nice clean room overall though.
- 1/5
HORRIBLE owner! Pet owners beware. Our room smelled so bad we went out and bought plug-in air fresheners, bugs, TV didn’t work and very limited breakfast. Charged me for 4 days for our dogs that were there for 30 min. We were waiting for my daughter to take them to her house. We explained this to the lady when we checked in. She told that’s fine but if they stayed we would have to sign some paperwork, no problem. That’s fine I said she was on her way and wouldn’t be but 30 min. Within 5 minutes the owner called our room immediately yelling at me telling me I had to pay and sign papers. I tried nicely to explain at first but he kept yelling at me so I signed the waiver since they were technically were in the hotel. He charged me for all 4 days. All he was worried about was as much money he could get. first place I have ever stayed that I took video and pictures of the room. The way I left it frayed of being charged for anything else. Pictures of every single towel that was left that we use that was in there in the first place do not trust him . All in all some things could be overlooked, but the nastiness of the owner was inexcusable He is lucky he has a nice front desk person Because if you talk to him, you would not want to stay.

I liked that it was quiet and clean. The people at the front desk seemed very nice. The TV didn't end up working, or maybe it was the remote. I didn't feel like calling anyone, so I just read my book. It was only one night, but I enjoyed my time.

We found our room to be clean and comfortable. I would stay here again if I'm ever in the area.

Met our needs, clean, and had free breakfast. Breakfast is waffles, cereal, pastries, so go elsewhere if you want something hot or have food allergies.

Check in was very easy. The only thing wrong with the room was the toilet seat was stained, chipped and cracked

Room was clean, but felt muggy/humid the first night.

We had a really nice stay at the Edgewater. There was an issue with the WiFi, but a new system was brought out and installed on my second day, so that's been taken care of. Breakfast was simple but good. Manager was really nice. He told me I'd save $50 by calling them directly over booking on Expedia or the associated companies.

The room was a lot bigger than expected which was really nice. The beds were fairly comfortable as well. Overall a good experience would book again.

Paid for a 2 bedroom & they gave me 1 queen & a pull out couch. When I went to ask about my other bed I was told it’s still 2 beds
