Reviews
The hotel is praised for its convenient location near the Space Needle and other attractions, as well as its friendly and helpful staff. However, guests frequently complain about the outdated facilities, particularly the elevators, and the lack of cleanliness in some rooms. Some guests also express dissatisfaction with hidden fees and poor breakfast options.

Location and how clean it was. Ice machine was not working when I tried to get ice.
- 2.5/5
Pros: Room clean, updated, comfy bed; Front desk staff very nice and accommodating to my room switch request. Breakfast had decent hot and cold options (but slow to refill the hot food, long line of people waiting for eggs for at least 10 minutes). No homeless people living on the street in front of hotel which is a win in Seattle. Cons: Housekeeping banged on my door and tried to enter my room at 4pm when I had just checked in and had DND sign on my door; Had to switch rooms bc room 213 (and that whole side of the hotel) sounds like there is constant generator running outside the window and it is very loud). There is a sign about construction happening but was not construction bc th noise was still running at 8pm...so I moved up to 6th floor and it was quieter. I recommend requesting a higher floor.

Rooms were clean. Common areas were clean and easy to use. Breakfasts were good; maybe could use some additional seating/tables. Location was wonderful; we walked everywhere. Check-in was easy and front desk clerks gave us some good recommendations for food and shopping and activities. Need more seating/tables for the breakfast crowds.

This hotel is in an amazing location and a great value. Staff are very helpful and accommodating.

Comfortable beds, great breakfast. Cold showers. One of the lifts weren't working and was getting repaired. Plumbers were trying to fix the problem. Was moved to another room which was also cold water . Was refunded 25% of the 1st night only.

The staff were extremely polite and helpful! We needed to go to a store and they were able to give us great walking directions. The breakfast was good with the options plentiful. The hotel was undergoing a renovation so there were a few construction areas, nothing to worry about. The real problem, NO HOT WATER! Our room was in part of the hotel that no hot water yet we given a room there. The young woman who checked us out explained, That part of the hotel was having plumbing problems and was aware of no hot water. Seriously, a refund should be ofdered

Clean room, friendly staff
- 5/5
The lobby was clean, staff was helpful, room was cozy, bed was comfortable.
- 4/5
All was just fine with the exception of having no bath towel in the room, an oversight I'm certain. The 3 hand towels provided sufficed.
- 3/5
Parking is easy and secure, but the only thing was we came in during renovations, the water was very light and hot water did not last long in the room.
- 4/5
Parking good.
- 3/5
The building was under construction, so I'm sure they had their hands full. The front desk attendant was amazing and welcoming. The main complaints I have are that the shower only heated to lukewarm, and for the 2 nights I stayed there, no one came into the room to replace coffee or empty the trashes.
- 4/5
Parking garage available but only for an extra payment. You're paying extra over other hotels for amenities that you can't use.
- 2/5
Cold shower two mornings in a row. Motel 6 would've been better.
- 4/5
Honestly, we have no complaints about our stay, other than the inconvenience of the renovation going on. It affected the elevators, lobby and parking lot the most. But we loved the rooms, staff, and location!
- 4/5
Room and staff are great, we went at a time that they were remodeling so we were held back to things we could have enjoyed about the hotel.
- 5/5
This place was central to everything. We were within walking distance to Pikes Market, Space Needle and everything else you can think of. This was our second trip to Seattle and the second time we stayed here. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
I knew there would be construction so I cannot fault that. The room was clean and updated and the hotel is very convenient to local attractions. My main issue was that the staff all gave different answers as to the breakfast situation - some thought there might be a breakfast buffet, others said no, and when I pointed out that I had paid extra for included breakfast when reserving, they only refunded two of four days’ of that cost. I’m not going to waste time arguing with twentysomethings over a few dollars but it was a little frustrating that they seemed so unprepared to answer the question. They were friendly, a little training would have just gone a long way.
- 3/5
I Was Disappointed That The Restaurant Was Closed, And I Was Not Informed Until I Checked In. The Property Is Under Renovation. If I Had Known This, I Would NOT Have Picked This Establishment
- 4/5
The hotel was under renovation throughout, and the ice machine was unavailable on all floors — despite a notice posted stating it would be available on other floors.
- 5/5
Hotel was under construction otherwise everything was good, will be back 😊
- 4/5
The hotel was being remodeled when we stayed, however we weren't bothered by it. The staff was polite. We got a newly remodeled room which was nice and clean. The beds were listed as queens, but they definitely seemed smaller than queens. The location is good! It's within walking distance to the Space Needle, Monorail and more. The only thing that bothered me was the parking fees. One person in our party only stayed for one night, but was going to go have lunch with us on they day they were checking out and return about 3pm. We were told any parking after 1 pm would be a charge for another full day/night stay for parking. There was plenty of room in their garage and three of us were still staying another night. I've stayed at other hotels in the same area that didn't charge for a few extra hours of parking. We ended up finding free street parking as it was a Sunday. So all worked out. It was just a little inconvenience and felt petty at the time.
- 5/5
Newly refurbished rooms are very nice.
- 2/5
Ice machines wasn’t working and over all appearance wasn’t up to standard
- 2/5
They was no mention of any renovations going on, yet a huge one. There were cable and wires hanging everywhere. There was so much stuff in the parking garage, that I had to pay $45 extra to park in, we had to move pallets and other debris just to get a parking spot. There was no breakfast like they normally have because of the renovation, but that was not mentioned either. I expected the price to be hiked up because of the event going on but it was ridiculously over priced for how small it was and the lack of any usual amenities due to renovations. Pretty disappointed and wrong go back
- 1/5
This hotel is in full construction mode, my room was not completely cleaned . No vending machines , no sitting area . I am in so much pain, this stay ruined my trip
- 4/5
Very friendly and helpful front desk. Rooms were clean and big
- 1/5
On the evening of the 12th I booked a room for the 17th. When I went to confirm the booking on the 13th, me Expedia app did the room had been booked for the 12th. I have been trying for several hours to get Expedia to look at this but am still no further along than I was several hours ago. This is an Expedia problem NOT the hotel’s
- 3/5
The room was very simple, with just the basics, and it faced the street, which was fine. However, the bathroom didn't have an extractor fan to filter out odors and steam from the shower, so everything mixed together in the room. And it didn't have a bathtub.
- 1/5
We were not informed that the hotel was under renovation. The hotel looked so ghetto. Never experienced something like this at all. Soon as you enter in the hotel upto the parking then hallways going to the room. The sunk faucet wasnt even working. Never again! We will definitely not be going back to this place.
- 2/5
There was nothing about construction happening until it was too late to cancel. The floor I was on embarking I paid extra for parking and there was no parking available to me. Staff were very helpful and pleasant to work with. One helped me find a sketchy parking spot that wasn’t a parking spot but made it work for me.
- 2/5
No,hot water it was barely warm. When I told the front office the lady rolled her eyes at me. I wasn’t informed your hotel was under construction until the day before I got a message about it.
- 1/5
Parking not available. Debris and other construction material on the hall way.
- 3/5
Check-in was smooth, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, which was a positive aspect of our stay. The receptionist did inform us about the renovations throughout the hotel, but we were not prepared for how extensive they were. The hotel elevator had a strong smell of marijuana, and once we reached our floor, we encountered plastic flooring that extended all the way to our room and beyond, with various doors taped off or covered in plastic. This made us feel a bit uneasy. Our room itself was nice and clean, with no significant issues. One note: the sink by the small wet bar was not working, but the sink in the bathroom was functional. Overall, I'm sure once renovations are complete the experience will be better. But the hotel should maybe communicate the amount of renovations taking place and reflect it in the price
- 4/5
Our room was lovely but the entire property is under construction and we were not alerted beforehand. Getting to the parking is very challenging.
- 5/5
Rooms are pretty good

Room was great, staff was friendly, construction not so much. Hubby was having surgery and ended up staying in the hospital an extra day because he couldn't be around the sheetrock dust.

SURE MIRE OLDERPEOPLE USE THEM THE CHILDREN.
- 5/5
Room needed some repairs which I reported but other than that it was a great place to stay! Secured underground parking was a big bonus!
- 4/5
Room was spotless. Staff was awesome. Location of room on street side was very loud and we could not sleep
- 4/5
The girl at the front desk forgot to tell me how to access the parking garage as there is dumpster blocking the alley. After some hair pulling, I went back to ask and was instructed that she forgot to tell me how to access the garage. Big bummer. Overall the stay was great and I would stay there again.
- 5/5
The customer service from the front desk staff on day shift
- 5/5
Clean room, comfy bed and linens, friendly staff
- 3/5
The construction noise was not terrible, however, many of the doors did not have locks on them in addition to the key card lock. Also, location is not the greatest, especially at night. Room was very clean however. Once the construction is over, I think the experience will be even better.
- 4/5
It was under renovation. So hard to comment on cleanliness etc.Our room was almost complete and fully updated. Appears as it will be modern and nice.It was clean. Bed was comfortable. We were on the 3rd floor and it was very noisy above us.The doors around us could be heard closing. Very loud as they closed. It could be due to the renovations and doors not 100% complete.Outside was noisy on our street side. But , it is a city. Parking $$ is a little expensive in my opinion. Location is great for all things downtown. Despite these little things, would stay here again and give it another chance. Location and price
- 4/5
Only complaint was booking a room with a fold out sofa which was no longer available as they had renovated.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet. Staff was helpful and parking was easy and safe.
- 2/5
Absolutely no shopping nearby. Room was not completed with renovations, but told it was. Fridge not working, yet brand new. Closet had no door, and chopped concrete. Restaurant for people staying at Holiday Inn Downtown Seattle supposed to close at 10pm. Went down at 8:30pm, to find them closed. Very disappointed

- 3/5
A lot of noise from outside No lobby coffee and breakfast
- 5/5
Robert at the front desk was excellent.
- 2/5
Front office staff was not friendly and kind of rude.
- 3/5
Breakfast was out of the building run by a different business and unfriendly staff and limited selection. They were short in staff resulting in a long waiting time to check in or wanting to approach them for guidance.
- 5/5
Very pleased with my stay at Holiday Inn, downtown Seattle
- 3/5
Our room had torn wallpaper, visible mold, and several areas that weren’t properly cleaned disappointing for the price point. When I called a week prior to confirm my reservation (booked through a third-party app), the front desk agent was immediately rude, questioning why I hadn’t booked directly with them. The tone was unprofessional and caught me off guard. At check-in, there was only one staff member working with a long line of guests waiting. She was doing her best and very kind, but clearly overwhelmed. It felt unfair that management didn’t have more staff scheduled to help her. Parking was also unreasonably expensive $35 a day should really be included in the stay. Overall, the property needs significant updates, better staff support, and improved customer service, I wouldn’t stay here again.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
The climate was good
- 5/5
Great staff
- 2/5
My main reason for giving it such a low mark is because of the poor security practices and measures that they have in place. They leave the side door to the alley open late at night and the front desk cannot see who enters. Also, the elevators do not require key cards to operate it, meaning anyone can walk in and roam the hotel. This is exactly what happened and the police had to be called to deal with 2 transients that slipped in and accessed a vacant room. Given the high transient population in Seattle, security needs to be improved to protect travelers.
- 2/5
Loud! Thin ceilings. TV kept losing basic cable channels and I could never get anything more than that. Very basic room lacking standard amenities like a small pad of paper and a pen or face wash bar. Breakfast not included.
- 3/5
We booked based on location, it was very convenient to walk from here to Climate Pledge Arena
- 4/5
Everything was a walking distance
- 4/5
The parking was great. The staff was kind the restaurant subpar. It’s a little shabby right now due to the renovations. But I’ll be back when the renovations are done because I believe it’ll be a great property.
- 4/5
This hotel was very convenient. It had shuttle service to the Norwegian Cruise ships. I didn't like that there was no free breakfast, but the restaurant was open at 7am. I'd stay here again.
- 4/5
Nice quiet room
- 3/5
I booked this hotel just because it was close to the convention center and lower price than other hotels around. The property is old and needs some renovations.
- 4/5
Walking distance to the Space Needle.

- 2/5
Check in was quick & easy but desk person did not have his stuff together. The hotel is under construction & we were placed next to it, which started at 8am. We also signed up for the shuttle to the pier for our cruise & it did not place our name on the list. We could’ve been late to board.
- 5/5
No food
- 3/5
Had to get our room keycard reset twice.Very inconvenient.
- 3/5
It closes to space needle and pike places but it is not great hotel for 250 per night. Parking lot so dirty because they rent it for construction company storage someone brushed my rental car bumper and didn’t notify the owner.
- 1/5
Upon check-in, we were surprised to see signage about ongoing construction at the property. We were not informed of this at the time of booking. When I raised this concern, your staff member apologized and offered us a room away from the noise. We were initially placed in Room 323, but upon discovering the door lock was broken, we were moved to Room 201 Upon arriving on the second floor, we were immediately hit with a strong paint odor, which continued inside Room 201. I went to get ice, only to find the ice machine not working and the paint fumes intensifying. I returned to the front desk to report the smell, which was making me feel very ill. I was told the odor was throughout the hotel due to construction and that moving to another room would not help. As the fumes worsened, I began feeling extremely nauseated and faint. I informed your restaurant staff, who kindly offered crackers to help. Eventually, the smell became so unbearable that I had to lie down in the hallway. Trixie from the front desk came to assist us and tried relocating us again—ironically, back to Room 323, which still had a broken lock. At this point, I was so unwell and on the ground we just went in the room to get away from the smell and so I could lie down. My husband felt very uneasy about sleeping in a room with no locks

The hotel was great but it was very loud in the night.

Bathroom wasn’t the cleanest by any means. And it didn’t state clearly that parking wasn’t included at 35$ a day but other than that it was accommodating
- 5/5
Excellent customer service.
- 5/5
Property was great. Understaffed - a long time waiting to check in. Could have a been a bit cleaner but for the price, no complaints.
- 3/5
No pool or hot tub Parking garage inconvient
- 3/5
Under construction that we didn't know ahead of time. Didn't see many staff around the property. Just okay for a Holiday Inn.
- 1/5
Worst experience ever at a Holiday Inn. There is a restaurant next to hotel that serves cold food and doesn’t have enough staff. Our table was right under a pipe that dripped. There is no pool no amenities zero. On our last day the guy in the room across from us died. EMS worked on him in the hallway for a long time, when he died they covered him in a yellow tarp and left him there in the hallway for almost 4 hours. No one from hotel called or spoke to us. This man had no dignity and we stayed in our room till he was picked up. The front desk acted like they had no clue. This was the beginning of our week long cruise. This place is the worst pick another place.

- 4/5
The parking was secure and conveniently located in the building.
- 4/5
It's a nice hotel that overall is a good place to stay being near the downtown and such all within walking distance.
- 2/5
Property newly renovated (and still in the middle or renovations), but elevator is broken and malfunctioning. Room looked new, but door to room would not Bolt lock. Bathroom door would not latch or lock. TV not connected to the Internet so most of its features were "not available". Woke up the first morning by the fire alarm. Twice. Most employees were very brief and snippy. Very poor experience overall. Very nice shower heads though!
- 3/5
I will start out by saying our room was extremely clean and had everything we needed. For the price we paid compared to other downtown hotels, it was all I could ask for. I know this hotel is under renovations, but I think they needed them done about 10 years ago. The place was fairly clean, but the first impression was absolutely horrible. Updating the lobby could go a long ways, and the outside entryway could use a huge facelift. I almost turned right around and found a new hotel when I first walked in. The attached restaurant had a leaking roof and the elevators had a sign saying the doors on them were not working. They also claim to have a workout facility, however, you had to go to another hotel to use them. I do appreciate that that was at least an option, but it should state that you have to do so on their website. Overall, I felt safe, but I think I would pay an extra couple hundred dollars to stay in a nicer hotel.
- 3/5
Not in a great section of town. Hotel was fine, clean, roomy, in room coffee, microwave but no shops around area to get anything to microwave!
- 5/5
It was great thank you
- 5/5
The property was very centralized and easy to get to. The staff was pleasant and very accommodating. Definitely would stay here on a personal trip.
- 5/5
Rooms were nice, walkable to most of Seattle. Breakfast was great!
- 2/5
This hotel is in a good location, but that is about it for good points. We had to change rooms because the climate control was broken in our first room. Our new room had climate control, but the furniture, wall paper, bathroom and bedding was shabby. There was a sticky bathtub safety floor that was brown and gross around the edges. But the worse part was that during our 2nd/3rd nights, the hotel covered the exterior of our windows with a milky white plastic, for the rest of the stay, even though the staff said at first they would remove it right away (then they said they couldn't remove it). It felt so claustrophobic and horrible, especially after a long day out in the city. The last day they hung dirty and torn wall coverings over the elevator walls in prep for the remodel. We did get 2000 IHG points after we were moved from the first room, but I doubt we will ever stay in another Holiday or IHG group hotel. Stay away! I was not informed of the remodel situation and it was denied until the 2nd day of our stay.
- 4/5
The location was fine but the closest bar/restaurant is a 5 -7 min walk. Really wished we would have stayed elsewhere
- 1/5
To sum it up... we were given a room that was damaged. I mean the television was scratched like freddy krueger attacked it. The floor in the bathroom was dirty, muddy and not swept. Luquid spills all over walls. Hairs, toenails on bedding. Holes in walls and broken furniture. And small insects flying around in room. All of this in their "best" room. A suite! The photos on the site are deceiving as was the description of the amenities. Regretfully paid way to much for this nights stay, and not to mention our room wasnt ready upon arrival. We had to wait for them to "clean" it. Disgusting!
- 5/5
Near the space needle, several restaurants and a whole foods store.
- 3/5
Dirty carpets an flooo Good staff
- 1/5
Construction was not communicated prior to booking, and we are allergic to dust mites.
- 5/5
Very similar to most Holiday Inns. The room was great with a little mini kitchen, beds and bedding was extremely comfortable. Room was outdated but the location was in construction to remodel so understandable. The front desk hostess was fantastic very helpful when we arrived very early from our cruise and checked in our luggage so we could go around the town. She also was able to put our medication in the fridge while we were out. We were called at around 1pm to let us know our room was ready early. My only minor complaint was having to wait for security to go into a different building to get our medical ice packs in the morning so i would suggest people to ask for in with more advance notice.
- 1/5
This hotel is under construction and the carpet is disguising. This hotel is nothing like the pictures, very misleading. I’m not satisfied and would like to be refunded.
- 4/5
Great service, very welcoming and helpful. I did not need to rent a car, everything was walkable and convenient. Room was clean and as expected.
- 5/5
Location and shuttle to cruise
- 5/5
Rick waa amazing. We got to port at 8 and arrived to hotel at 9am. He didnt have any cleqn rooms available but he did check in our luggage and held it for us while we went and explored the city. He did call at around 12-1pm to let us know a room was available. He was super amazing and all around the best asset. He also let us do late check out at 1 since our flught wasnt till 5pm next day. He showed us on map places to see, where good eating was at.
- 4/5
Great walkable location to all things!
- 4/5
Under renovation but was warned about that. Wish they had a free airport shuttle.
- 4/5
It was in a clean neighborhood and the staff was friendly.
- 4/5
Thank you for the nice stay!
- 5/5
Was under construction, it caused no problem. Good hotel and location
- 4/5
The hotel was good, we did not like the breakfast service, the hotel was under construction and we did check out like a 15 or 16 days ago and still have the deposit on hold and I don't understand why because we when un a cruise and came back and stay and another holiday inn in california and in 3 days the deposit was release.
- 5/5
Check in was as smooth as it gets. The room was comfortable and clean. We would stay here again.
- 4/5
all of it.
- 5/5
It was really easy to check-in and they were so friendly.
- 4/5
Property was undergoing renovations and I didn't know ahead of time. The price should've been reduced because of this. Ice maker on my floor was out of order and we had to go the front desk for clean towels and washcloths due to housekeeping not cleaning our room.
- 5/5
Nice location. Just FYI the underground parking lot max height is 6'7". I did not know so i had to park at a public parking lot a couple blocks down the street. That was my only issue, aside from the construction happening. But the rooms are very clean and the location was great.
- 5/5
Loved our stay here. It was for my birthday trip and staying here did not disappoint! The staff were lovely and helpful too.
- 3/5
Rooms are clean and provide toilet trees which relieves a lot of stress. Fridge in the room was very small. They charge a $25 per car for parking but it was very convenient. Surprisingly, house keeping did not knock and the phones did not work to call for room service so we had to go down for toilet paper. Very close to WAMU theater, but overpriced compared to other hotels.
- 5/5
Bed was good
- 1/5
The property was under construction and has dust all over. The construction area was closed off by a piece of ripped plastic . Our window was exposed to other rooms. The room smelled moldy and musky. Do not recommend.
- 5/5
Great stay overall. Clean property and helpful staff.
- 5/5
The staff was awesome! Th room clean and the bed soooo comfortable. Was a little pricey but def a great hotel experience and i’d be willing to return.
- 5/5
it is under construction
- 4/5
Great staff, easy and clean. Very convenient
- 4/5
It was nice, however some minor things not working, bathroom lights, shower tap needing fixing. Bed was very comfortable
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly, informative, and welcoming. The property was going through a renovation but it didn't effect our stay. Parking was nice and secure, underground. The room was clean and spacious. Overall i would definitely stay here again.

Throughout our stay, we found ourselves having to request basic amenities and services multiple times, which was both frustrating and unexpected from an IHG property. Especially as travellers who have come a long way, we did not even have water bottles in our room. Having worked for IHG myself, I have always appreciated the brand’s commitment to exceptional service, but this visit did not reflect that standard. I’m not sure if this is a shift in company expectations or an isolated experience, but it was disappointing nonetheless. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken constructively, as IHG has always been known for its hospitality, and I would love to see this property uphold the level of service that guests have come to expect.

They are under construction. The first night the crew late into the evening. Coffee was good, no breakfast offered however. Staff was the best part, very friendly. Clean enough. I probably wouldnt stay at a holiday in again though, the price was $509 for 3 nights, definitely not worth it. There is a whole foods within walking distance to save on cost a bit.

The property was beautiful but I cannot stay there again. The handicap parking stalls are very small.

Easy quick check-in, great room, parking had great availability- spaces were a bit tight but was a parking garage so very typical. We were able to leave our car a bit longer after checkout and pickup later. Overall a great experience and stay!

Got what i'd expect from a Holiday Inn. Nothing to complain about.

I was frustrated that this place was under construction when I arrived, and the hotel didn't notify you of this issue when you booked and charged you full price despite the construction. Also, the rooms that weren't being updated were very dated and old. The shower faucet in my room was loose and turned upside down when I bumped it. Also, the parking garage below is very space limited and very difficult to drive through much less park in. The only positive thing about this hotel is the very accommodating staff.

Other than being undef construction The stay was nice and quiet

Easy stay for ECCC this year. Close enough to walk to the convention centre!
