We loved it and we will visit again.

Staff was extremely rude

One of the front desk employees was not very nice to a guest coming in. Room wasn't ready and he wasn't happy. She told him she couldn't help that staff had called in sick and they were short staffed. She had an ear bud in the whole time which is extremely rude.

It’s very nice, food was delicious

I did not get breakfast there. The grounds and landscaping are very beautiful. Especially liked the blue hydrangeas. I liked the locked gate with entry code. I liked that it is non-smoking. I was told that one could swim in the lake behind the hotel. I walked down and saw a "beach" that was not very good. I ended up not swimming and neither did the two people traveling with me, but if we had, the beach would not have been nice. I had asked if the old beach nearby was still available that I used when I was a Clemson student decades ago. The staff said yes, but I could even go in the lake behind the hotel. A worker using a loud leaf blower in the hallway the last morning was a bit unwelcome, but just lasted a few minutes.

The location and its amenities were great. It was very clean and had friendly staff. I wish the restaurant stayed open later. The bar was open late but you couldn’t get food.

Restaurant was closed and the pictures of the rooms were a little deceiving. Thought we were getting larger rooms with a couch, but they were smaller with just a bed. Rooms were comfortable. Pool area was nice.

A beautiful and large room with a king size bed! The lake was beautiful, even though I didn't have a lake facing room. I could still enjoy it from the other spots on the property. The bed was very comfortable and the property was very quiet. Loved the stay. The only thing that I could say was the on site resturant is not open on Mondays, and that happened to be the day I was staying. Was hoping to get a glass of wine but unfortunately that didn't work out. But good to know for future reservations! I would stay here again for sure.

The property is clean, nice and in a great location. The train that goes through a crossing a few times a night is loud. It’s a decent kitchen but a very tiny 2 cup coffee maker. Ok for short stays. Our room smelled like curry, very strong, the 3 days we were there. It was quite offensive.

The suites are very clean and comfortable, and the view across the lake is very nice It is very loud because of the highway outside and the location is not very convenient to Clemson

We have stayed here several times in different rooms. From regular rooms up to suites. This is awesome place to stay. Always well kept, clean rooms and there is plenty of room inside and out. Whether you are in town for an archery shoot or games or just a nice weekend away. You are close to just about everything you need. Nothing shady about the area, well lit and plenty of parking. You are near the railroad tracks, but it’s no louder than the ice maker in the fridge. The brunch is great, and I am willing to guess dinner too, the restaurant is always full. The staff are great and there is on premise security.

Great price and great pool. Quiet and clean. My only complaint is the lack of housekeeping. After two nights with four kids, our room needed some help.

Property is in a nice area, convenient to restaurants and small shops. The grounds are scenic. I asked to move from a parking lot facing room to a room facing the lake and did not mind the $50 upgrade fee that I was told I would be charged however was moved to a room that was blocked by a large tent and did not have a view of the lake,so I requested a second move, which seemed to upset the staff so then I was told that we don’t have rooms that give you a view of the lake?? Because we have a tree line so the lake is blocked! That was absolutely crazy to me cause I could look out the window of the second floor and see a perfectly good view of the lake. I couldn’t help but feel there was some prejudice going on. Also, there is a train that comes through at 5:30 in the morning and then again around 8 AM that is disturbing.Other than that, my day was good. The rooms are a very nice size and comfortable. The custodial staff was excellent and very helpful. They have two EV chargers for which they do not charge you to use. My daughter and I were only there for one as we went for a college visit at Clemson University.

Roaches in the room staff won’t bring you anything, elevator was 1,000 degrees and smelled horrible. Lakeside view was a scam couldn’t see nothing but trees. Will not be back. This is not a luxury resort period.

We had a room with a kitchen. It was well stocked. The room needed several repairs. The shower door did not close, the bathroom light did not work, the lamp did not work, etc. The room was clean.

The room was great for an extended stay. We got there early and the room wasn't ready... no big deal but I don't think the cleaning crew was informed we left to give more time for cleaning and left without finishing, and not leaving some important things... toilet paper... had to request that... staff was probably wondering what we were using it for! But anything that we requested to help with our stay they tried to accommodate... would definitely stay again.

Consistent service and comfort. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. We always stay at this property when visiting our daughter at Clemson.

Very comfortable stay with clean, spacious room. Comfortable bed , modern bathroom, and functional kitchen. No on-site breakfast weekdays but did have Lobby coffee and a small coffee pot in the room.

This place is tops! The area is great, rooms were wonderful, and amenities were amazing. Definitely plan on staying again asap!

1) Road noise on pool and patio is tremendous and distracting. 2) The hotel closes the pool and jacuzzi at dark, which combined with the road noise kind of makes those facilities of limited value. 3) The hotel has nice fire pits, but the big lights over pits kind of spoil the mood. In summary, the property made a big investment in the pool area, and although there is probably little they can do about the road noise, with some tweeting of policies and lighting the back patio & pool area could be a reason to visit the hotel, which is currently not the case.

Our go-to when in Clemson! A really convenient and comfortable stay, with great indoor and outdoor amenities. 10/10 highly recommend.

The property is next to railroad. A train woke us up during the night because it was so loud.

I must have gotten the absolute worst room here. The last time I stayed I had a great room with a balcony. This time, I got a "patio," that I even paid extra for that connected to the parking lot overlooking the highway on the fist floor. The room smelled AWFUL. Then I realized it must have been a pet room. Smelled like dog urine and the front desk said they couldn't move me because I had booked through Expedia. They offered to spray the room. With what, I have no idea. Probably some kind of dog urine spray reducer. Gross. Very disappointed.

The unit was terrific. Quiet and clean. only issue is daily train whistle nearby. Nice area with grrat restaurant in hotel.

The fire alarm going off at 1:30 am is awful! The hotel smells like smoke in the lobby. Food was good at the restaurant rooms were clean. Traumatic being awakened by the excessively loud alarm in the middle of the night. I would like a refund or credit.

Everything was just okay. Nothing went above and beyond. When we arrived, the place was nearly empty. The entire outdoor halllway had sheets and garbage just piled at the doors. Our room felt like it was IN the parking lot.

Broken glass outside next to fire pit. No one plowed or shovelled even around the front entrance during and days after an ice storm so it was difficult and dangerous to walk to our car. Side gate in first building that would not stay locked. Couldn’t Bluetooth into the tvs in the rooms. Felt like a ghost town.

It wasn’t bad and the people were friendly! Surprised by $100 pet fee!

Spotless room, great staff, and amenities

We booked this hotel because the hot tub is open during the winter. Our 1 BR suite was large and in excellent condition. We did not try the restaurant but heard good things about it. Some reviews we have seen complained about train noises. Apparently, they have resolved that issue - didn't hear a train horn once in 3 days.

Beautiful and clean

Room was clean. Adjoining room door was not locked so at midnight someone from the other room opened it. Then a staff member came and locked it but they didn’t bother to call our room or knock on our door to let us know. Could have been bad.

Room was spotless. Restaurant and hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. Amenities are great. Nice pool and pool bar with nice views overlooking the lake. Lobby bar and restaurant are nice and good place to watch a game. Fitness center could use an upgrade with more weights and cardio equipment. Overall we loved Lakeside Lodge and plan on being back.

No breakfast available on a weekend before 10:00 am. Micro room is the perfect description. Very small but clean and nice. Good for one person. No place to really sit except on the bed.

The staff was very friendly and the Lodge and rooms were very clean and spacious. Restaurant on site was really good and the Fireplace in the lobby was great.

Great place to stay. Staff was very courteous. Room was great. Only reason I did not rate it 5 stars was that the fridge had half eaten food and drink from the previous occupant.

I asked for ADA accessible. There was nothing in the room. No grab bars whatsoever. When I let them know they couldn’t have cared less. We were there for a family wedding and had multiple rooms. My brother had to move 3 times. Palmetto bugs. I was there several years ago and I was the one who suggest this place. Never again. Truly horrible

The kitchen was nice until I realized that there was a really gross dirty crusty fork in with all the "clean" utensils. Luckily I saw it before I used anything so I just had to make sure to clean and scrub any dishes/utensils before I used them. One thing that was annoying but not the hotel's fault was how close they were to train tracks. I'd stayed here twice before and never noticed a train but this night (a Tuesday), a train went by multiple times in the night, waking me up each time (at least twice, possibly 3x?). Bring ear plugs if you stay.

I want to live this property. I really enjoyed the staff and amenities but it goes down from there. Rooms are set up great, how er the paper thin walls, the noise from traffic and blinds that don’t keep out property lighting made it hard to sleep. Oh well

The amenities are nice but the hottub isn't open past dark. My room didn't get cleaned the entire 3 nights I was there. I was just expecting more.

Just ok. Suite could have been cleaner. Front desk staff seemed uninterested and front desk area a bit cluttered. Bright lights in grounds too bright and leaked into room impacting sleep. Pool was clean and enjoyable.

Stayed in one BR unit with full kitchen which was great! Blender worked perfectly for our daiquiris. It was a hot & sunny weekend. Pool was clean & plenty of chairs. Lobby & outdoor sitting areas nice & comfy during this busy weekend too. Would definitely recommend this resort. Can walk to shopping areas & casual restaurants like Ramen, Mexican & a grocery store. Safe parking.

Great place to stay in Clemson

I’ve been staying at the lakeside for three years, and I’ve noticed the cleanliness of the facility has declined over the years. The bathroom always has black mold in the grout in the tiles. I hope they can get back to the cleanliness of the facility that it was like three years ago.

Parts of the lodge are wings with motel style hallways. There were a number of bugs, both dead and alive, in our room.

Was excited about this hotel but was disappointed with the view from the room. I paid for a lake view room but what we got was a view of the retaining wall and forest. Couldn’t see the lake at all. The actual view of the lake from the entire property was through the dense trees except for maybe a 50 foot clearing.

Room was dirty. Just generally not clean or well kept, but the most obvious was Huge glob of what looked liked chocolate frosting on the floor. It was late when we got in, went to bed bc no other option. Next morning i asked for the room to be thoroughly cleaned. Explained the state of things. Came back that night room had not been touched. When i went down iwas greeted with indifference, giy at the dest asked if he could bring me extra towels?? Will not be staying again, and I am in the area often with a student at Clemson. Nice property, dirty hotel and terrible service. A shame because there is a lot of potential there.

Far too short of a stay, loved the pool and loungers and the room accommodations. Next time will stay longer and also try out the gym. Was a very loaded trip for me and it kept me from more leisure time. I will be back!

This property was great! Offered more space and amenities for the price especially compared to the local hotels. It was nice to have the restaurant on site. I would highly recommend the property! This will be our first choice when we come back to the Clemson area!

This was a beautiful property, however; our room and building was very dated. Also, while we knew they would not replace linens other than towels daily, but we at least expected them to replace shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There were dispensers on the shower wall but it was evident that they had not been used in a long time, were rusted and there was had on them and the wall that did not belong to us. We brought our own slippers and the bottoms were filthy after 4 days, meaning the floors and carpet had not been cleaned in some time. This is a dog friendly property, which is great, however; they need to be disinfecting these rooms after. There was a fridge, but no microwave in the room, which was very inconvenient for us travelling from out of state, and we threw food away because we had no way to heat it. The staff was very accommodating when we asked for things and were the real treasure about this resort. Sadly we had so much going on visiting family that we did not have the opportunity to take advantage of the amenities such as the pool, but I am not sure we would have anyway as this is very much a property for the younger generation. Overall, as long as your room is in one of the buildings that has is newer or refurbished, then you’ll probably have a better experience. The area and views were worth it although we would have lived there to have been more places to walk in the evenings.

Beautiful setting next to the lake. only complaint was only one of the elevators was working. Room was huge and comfortable.

They fraudulently charged my credit card $62.50 and when I called to ask why they said I stole two pillows from them. Which is a lie and then they hung up on me. I would never stay here again terrible facility. Don’t waste your time or money

Wow if you are in the area and it could be because you’re exhausted with all the driving .. or have an event at Clemson U. Well this is the place to go and unwind! The food, the ambiance, the staff, the room just really will meet your needs! And if not- at least ask! They were very friendly! I want to return to experience the fire pit when it’s chilly!

Me and my partner stayed this past weekend and it was absolutely a beautiful and relaxing experience. They king size bed was incredibly comfy, the pool was great, and it was very peaceful. My only regret is we couldn’t stay longer. First vacation in a long time for us both. Definitely will be returning and highly recommend.

Would recommend this place to anyone!!! Felt like we were on a resort vacation. The rooms were spacious with amazing bathrooms. The pool was the biggest highlight. So relaxing and great for a family!

Overall our stay was very good. The location is excellent, the building was modern, clean, and easy to get to. I booked through Hotels.com and booked a room with a kitchenette, however when I adjusted the reservation to add another night It reserved a room without a kitchenette and I did not realize this. That was disappointing. Friends of our got a 2 bedroom with a full kitchen for considerably less than what we paid, so shop smart. Over all it was a good experience with beautiful grounds, clean rooms, and a nice restaurant on site!

It was okay, I think we could have had a better experience if there was a microwave available (even if one was in lobby), if the pool was clean and not hot, and if they had food options at the hotel (restaurant was closed when we stayed)

ALL around a great experience. The staff was very nice and helpful. The food was incredible, the room was perfect , clean, and quiet. The whole property was amazing. You have to stay here to understand. I will for sure be back, probably monthly. And most importantly , GO TIGERS! 😁👍

I have been visiting this property since they open i love it but the back of the property to the pool side has overgrown with trees and bushes no view of the lake anymore before you could walk in the back not anymore looks abandoned

We stayed at the Lodge for the first time in 2021, right after it opened, and the place was terrific! In the years since, though (This is our third stay), the staff has seemed much less welcoming and there's much less attention to detail in things like cleaning. We may or may not stay here again in a few years. It's still a great lodge with a great pool. But some of the bloom has definitely faded.

Pros: location is great. Staff is amazing- they were overworked, overstressed, and understaffed and never were nothing but professional, helpful and willing to make things right. They all deserve raises. Restaurant was great. Pool is beautiful. Suites are great spaces. Id rather pay more per room and have you hire more help to assist your already great staff out more.

The property as clean and comfortable. Staff friendly. My disappointment was that this property is in a shopping center, with no access to the lake. Trees hide lake view in summer. No pets allowed near pool area. Everything is smaller than photos portray.

Friendly staff and reception. The on site security at the front desk made sure all rules and policies were enforced which was very positive and welcomed. All in all a very pleasant stay, I look forward to a future visit.

Hair on the showet and the staff was going to charge me a half days rate to check out 30-1hr later. Terrible customer service!

Pool area is great although they never have a bartender out there and can’t do frozen drinks. This is a great option when visiting Clemson, great location. However there are no ice makers and the line to check in can be ridiculous. That said, we stayed there many times over the years our daughter was at Clemson and I would go back again.

A beautiful property with every amenity a body could want. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was exceptionallly clean and very spacious. I give the Lakeside Lodge 6 stars.

Pictures of the place were amazing, and the place is pretty. However, we were put in building 3, which the walls are super thin, we could hear everything. Then there is also a train that runs right beside the resort, so you hear that randomly through the night. It's very pretty, but would not recommend for the cost.

Don’t understand why this is only rated 2 1/2 stars. The accommodations the food and the pool were all really great. Close enough to town if you’re looking for things to do.

Have stayed at LL many times and always return. Great location with beautiful lake views, restaurant, proximity to shopping and Clemson University.

Overall nice experience and beautiful property. I wish they had more than one firepit because it get's full quickly and I wish the pool stayed open longer than 8:30pm. Nice rooms walks are thin you can hear the people beside you.

Convenient location for a family graduation event and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.

Beautiful Lodge, The room was spacious, beds were very comfy, loved the big shower with 2 heads. The kids LOVED the pool, and adults loved the fire pit area at night to socialize with other guests. Great location, close to everything Will definitely return. The only thing that was missing, no microwave in room, would have been nice to have one to heat up leftovers.
