Reviews
The hotel is in a prime location, close to various attractions and amenities, with friendly and helpful staff. However, the rooms are outdated and need upgrades, with issues such as noise, cleanliness, and comfort. The parking situation is also a common complaint, with guests having to park in a separate garage a block or two away.

Beautiful older building, clean and well appointed. Great area close to everything. Would stay again

Great location to walk places in downtown Spokane

Rooms quite clean. Nice building and location to the park. Parking was one block away, cost was 18 dollars for the day.

Rented two king rooms. One was updated, the other needed to be modernized, but it was well kept and clean. Great location, easy walk to the falls and Riverfront Park.

We had spent a week with a family member in the hospital nearby who was in critical condition and when we finally had this hotel gifted to us it was such a wonderful gift. The hotel was beautiful as well as our room. It was the first time we had to relax and just chill. We definitely recommend this hotel

Parking is okay, but if it had been raining, I don’t think the walk to the car would have been very enjoyable. Luckily, the weather was nice, so it turned into a pleasant little walk where you could look at the buildings along the way.

Can’t say enough great things about our stay!! We will be back again and again!!!

Great place to stay full of things to do and just a small walk away from downtown and the mall

The heritage of the building, the cleanliness and well-maintained building. That we could look into the different ballrooms and see the inside, extremely quiet, pool and gym included, location, and all the staff we encountered were super friendly! Restaurant was closed on a Sunday, no in-house option for breakfast. Would have liked continental breakfast options when the in-house restaurant is closed for breakfast

The parking situation is different but if known ahead of time can be planned for. The hotel itself was a beautiful building and the history of it is evident.

The room was clean. The staff was helpful. The parking was okay. The restaurant was closed on Mondays that would have been nice to know at check-in.

Street parking was really easy to find. Staff was very nice. It’s always nice to have access to a full gym and pool. We stay here every time we come to Spokane. A nice stay without a crazy price tag. Can’t wait to come back!
- 4/5
Restaurant was excellent for dinner after arrival. Reasonable prices. Breakfast was great except untrained staff hung out in back room talking and did not pay attention to customers needs. The room was good - glasses, keurig, ceramic coffee cups, bathrobes. The bed was soft and lumpy. They need to upgrade mattresses!

We love the feel and charm of the 1920's era building. The location is perfect if you want to be in a quiet, relatively safe part of downtown Spokane. The staff were kind, gracious and knowledgeable. They definitely make us feel welcome. Our room was very clean, comfortable, bright and had a very large bathroom. We'll definitely hope to stay again. We arrived a little later due to the distance from Omak, so the restaurant was closing within 20 minutes of our arrival. That was the only disappointment for us. We did have dinner at a local restaurant just across the street, which had very tasty options!
- 5/5
The room was clean and beautiful, the entire property was beautiful. The staff were all so kind and amazing!
- 5/5
Staff were friendly and helpful. Nick was amazing and made my stay so enjoyable.
- 4/5
Staff was super friendly. Folks in the bar were fun. Location was fantastic for river walk and restaurants.
- 5/5
Great place to stay!
- 5/5
The rooms was clean and comfortable. The pool time was easy to reserve, my little loved the pool! Staff was friendly. Parking was a little tricky because the garage was over filled. But there did seem to be an event going on… would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Staff for wonderful. Hotel is well maintained and charming vintage decor. Community bar with wonderful selections and good pricing. Locker room and pool facility clean and well appointed. Definitely recommend staying here.
- 5/5
Clean and easy
- 5/5
I love the feel of a historic hotel, and this one doesn’t disappoint! Old times meets modern luxury, and full access to the amazing gym and activity area. Minutes from the office when I’m in town. I can’t wait to stay again.
- 5/5
Beautiful place to stay! Loved it!
- 5/5
First time visit. Really cool place. Food was great, Kimber rocked as our server!
- 5/5
Very helpful and friendly staff. Room was clean and comfy. Great location for walking to arena and restaurants.
- 5/5
I liked everything about the hotel and my room. Inviting atmosphere, very well maintained and jazz music in the lobby was a nice touch. Had to be the best shower/water pressure I've enjoyed in years! It was a safe walk to the Riverfront and back from Spokane Arena at night. My only complaint is there wasn't anywhere within a short walking distance you could get breakfast. Not thrilled that Parking is 2 blocks away and still $20/night w/tax, but the room charge was reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised i was able to screen mirror my phone to the TV.
- 4/5
A great value. Clean and friendly staff. Room are loud. You can hear neighbors and the heating/cooling system is very loud when it starts. Woke us up at night. That said, we would go back because the price is right!
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time at the Spokane Club. Its a beautiful building. The room was very comfortable and relaxing. We had dinner at the restaurant, it was delicious and the service was amazing. I would recommend this Hotel. Its very convenient to down town.walking distance from major event centers. Love it there, we will definitely be back .
- 5/5
We didn’t have a vehicle so I cannot speak to parking. I loved the access to the full gym. The staff was very helpful. Across the board!
- 4/5
Parking was close by but one may want to put in all luggage and things into the room before driving over to the parking garage. Bar and food selections close to early.
- 5/5
Amazing amenities with the gym ….
- 5/5
Nice, clean, convenient location.
- 5/5
Everything about our stay was great!
- 2/5
The bed was horrible, needed to be replaced 10 years ago. Pretty disappointed as the staff and amenities were great. A bed that feels old will not get return business from me, nothig beats a good nights sleep. Sorry Spokane Club, but you guys need to do better in this department. Get some decent beds!
- 1/5
I stayed in room 410. It had a beautiful view of the Catholic Church outside the window. I noticed the window could be opened. Staying alone and seeing a ledge that someone could walk around and potentially come through my window on made me uneasy. The staff came up and put screws in the window which kept the window locked. There was a super loud clanking sound in my room that can every five minutes or so. It seemed to be coming from the floor below the bathroom. It sounded like clanking pipes, perhaps the water turning on/off throughout the hotel? The sound was maddening and kept me up all night long. I liked how the facility was connected to the athletic center. That was the only saving grace. The hotel would have been given higher stars, I did like its old charm, if it hadn’t been for the terrible clanking. I was very tired today and hated to start my long drive home already exhausted.
- 5/5
Such a cool experience. Love the beautifully restored historic building. Room was gorgeous. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Didn’t have time to visit the fitness center but it’s great that you can take classes there while you stay. Looking forward to my next visit!
- 5/5
The room was ADORABLE. It was so cute and comfortable. It was so quiet even though it was fully booked. The staff was lovely and so helpful. The building is great. Though Parking is around the corner it’s easy to get to and easy to access. We will return FOR SURE. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Very helpful front desk. Parking was easy.
- 5/5
Great Place
- 4/5
Only hotel in the world advertising toilet paper as an amenity you guessed it, no TP. Didn’t like that they stick you with 18% at the bar even if there’s only two! The reason? It’s a club. I guess the members are cheap. I missed the parking ordeal but I saw some madness. But overall great and I’ll be back without a car and will steer clear of the bar.
- 5/5
Clean room, wonderful amenities, close to great entertainment and restaurants.

- 5/5
The staff was very courteous and helpful. The restaurant week meal was excellent. Great location; not far from shopping or to a concert.
- 5/5
You have got to love this old hotel. Great parking. Old fashioned great service. Beds are wonderful.
- 4/5
The gym access was great! It was nice to stay somewhere with a full gym. Kids loved the basketball court. The pool was a disappointment for the kids. It was only available on reservation and it was set up for lane swimming. So no fun pool time. We always book hotels with a pool so not having use of one was a big let down. Front desk staff were very courteous and helpful.
- 5/5
Great room food and incredible gym!!
- 4/5
Very nice old charm.
- 5/5
Great front desk staff, beautiful decor, comfy sheets, tasteful amenities and bath supplies, soft towels, and a great view. I'll be back!
- 5/5
The front desk receptionist when we checked in late at night was great! He not only encouraged us to explore the unique hotel but provided us with the history of the building.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and comfortable. Manager Angela was very helpful and took time to help when needed. Dining room staff was friendly and breakfast was good. Parking was easy to get to and had a place for disabled drivers.
- 5/5
Cons: small bathroom no counter space. Needs some brighter lighting. Very old hotel, could use some room furniture updating but for one night it was fine and the price was good. Parking garage about a couple blocks awayi but street parking available by hotel
- 3/5
Room was nice
- 5/5
The Club is always a fabulous place! The cleanliness, the staff, and location are what all keep us coming back!
- 5/5
The staff were amazing and very helpful. The property is gorgeous and clean. We would definitely love to stay here again.
- 5/5
The staff was really nice and the rooms were very comfortable.
- 4/5
Very handy location if you need to be near downtown for business.
- 1/5
We reserved a suite. The furniture seemed like it had been recycled and was overly worn. The temperature could not be maintained and was either very cold or over 80 degrees. The bathroom door fell off the top hinge, including the screws and we could not shut the door for most of the weekend. The workmanship on the fixtures and finishes was very crude. The light switch plate in the bathroom was even crooked. There is no number, code or direct line for room service and when the front desk was called, they transferred but no one would answer. Finally after 30 minutes we got the front desk person to write down the order and take it to the kitchen, where it then took 45 minutes to get eggs/toast. They never picked up the tray and it laid in the hallway for a day and a half. The hallways were freezing.
- 3/5
Roims poorly maintained. Impossibke to connect and stream TV. Nothing worked.
- 5/5
I loved this hotel. I was so glad that I didn't pay double the price to stay at the Marriott. I loved the incredible gym and smoothie bar. The people that worked at the front desk were so helpful and nice. They made me feel like a member of a private club, not a customer.
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Every employee was happy and helpful!
- 4/5
Although I do like the building, the location, the staff and the walkable area I found that the rooms could use some updating and cabinets all need to be refurbished or replaced.
- 4/5
Bed very comfortable
- 5/5
This is a gorgeous old property with a lot of history. It was an interesting place to stay and close to some beautiful parks and nice shops.
- 5/5
Great workout center attached to the hotel with a lap pool, classes and excellent new equipment Staff is very responsive and friendly
- 5/5
Everything is great except for the parking garage is not located next to the hotel. It’s across the street and down the road.
- 3/5
As reciprocal visiting members from the Washington Athletic Club, we have enjoyed many visits over the past 60 years. Most visits were to use the athletic facilities. Occasionally, we would stay overnight. We had always enjoyed our visits. However, this visit was a very different experience. The guest room was not well furnished. There were 2 chairs, both were desk-type chairs, and there was no cushioned chair. The room temperature was cold, and the heat was turned off for the summer. Another disappointment was that the dining area and lounge were both closed. The TV was also very complicated to use, with no instructions handy to help. However, on a positive note, the cleaning staff for the room was efficient and friendly. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The exercise area was well-equipped, and the person at the sports area check-in desk was very helpful. We've been guests at the Spokane Club annually for the past 60 years or so. Until this visit, the experience has always been a good one. While we are likely to visit again as a day guest, we don't plan to stay overnight again unless there are changes to the room features and the restaurant is open more of the time.

- 3/5
Have stayed twice before to attend Candle Light concerts next door. I was unprepared for how shabby room 410 was. It was apparently a "Vintage" room but the veneer furniture was just horrible. Not at all representative of the Spokane Club. The room was also very dusty.
- 5/5
Fantastic workout facities
- 5/5
Extraordinary workout facilities; more like a college sports complex than a typical hotel exercise room.
- 5/5
Other than that, we will be back for another stay!
- 5/5
Loved the location! Staff were very helpful with all our needs during our stay which great since it was our first time in Spokane.
- 5/5
Very nice, older hotel that has two small sets of stairs at main entry. Which means the front entry is not accessible for all and you will need to carry your stroller up.
- 5/5
Very clean and elegant. The staff was all so friendly
- 4/5
I loved that it was a renovated room in an historic property. Very well done … also, it’s a real members club and the staff was excellent. Understated elegance. Only issue was guest room blinds that didn’t fully close, letting in ambient outside/street light. Luckily, I’m an early riser … so no big deal. Great access to riverside trail, riverside park/falls and downtown venues. Restaurants were delightful. I would definitely stay there in future visits.
- 3/5
It worked for 1 night though.
- 5/5
Always our favorite place!
- 5/5
Loved the property. Location is perfect. Very quiet and very clean.
- 5/5
Check in was much improved this stay
- 5/5
Gym, clean rooms, location
- 5/5
Historic club!
- 5/5
I was hesitant at first because I typically stay at more modern hotels when in the Spokane area, but the vibe and customer service made this property shine. We were at the property for graduation and everyone was so kind from wait staff, bartenders, front desk staff. The gym is great, highly recommend taking advantage of allllll the amenities, when we had a challenge with the temperature control in our room the staff quickly made adjustments to our window. There was a nice open space for our family and friends to gather. The property was in easy walking distance of many sites and shops. We really enjoyed our stay and are thankful to the staff. Ps we loved learning the history of the property

My kids we’re not able to access the swimming pool…
- 5/5
I have two, active boys and the fact they could use the athletic club gym and pool was a game changer. What a great way to have them go shoot hoops for a couple hours to burn off the energy. The hotel has a historic charm. If youre looking for modern, sleek, finishes, this is not it but very charming. The location can't be beat. Near all the shopping, dining, the park, etc. Fantastic and will be back.
- 5/5
The staff is amazing and Amber went above and beyond assisting me during a d difficult time. I’m very grateful and I always stay at the Spokane club when I am there for work.
- 5/5
Amazing place excellent customer service definitely going back
- 5/5
By far, my favorite place in spokane! Our son plays football at Whitworth, 3 of our 6 kids live here. Perfect location and the stay are lovely! The historic building is beautiful!
- 3/5
The front desk staff were very nice. The restaurant server was not very friendly. Also, in our room the fan didnt work and the room got very warm. We had to open the door of the room throughout the night for air flow and to cool down. When we told the front desk about it they said sorry and that they couldnt have switched rooms because they were full for the night. That was all that was said. The parking was convenient and it was a comfortable walk to the event we were attending. The older building had great character.
- 5/5
Overall great stay. The bartender Katie is top notch!!
- 1/5
The room stayed in was hotter than Death Valley. Tried to open the ưu Dow but was completely bolted down. Air conditioning wasn’t working and was told no other room to switch us to. Has to open the front door to get some air in but couldn’t leave it open since ut was late at night. We paid a lot for it and would have been better off staying at the motel 6. Never ever again.
- 5/5
The restaurant was excellent. Fitness facilities excellent. Overall nice experience and loved the historic atmosphere. However, the bathrooms need updating and the floors should be better insulated. Lots of noise from upstairs. Overall good experience.
- 5/5
Restaurant in hotel had great breakfast at a good price. Bed and pillows 👍👍
- 4/5
Good location.
- 5/5
An amazing hotel with historical vibes. We will return.
- 5/5
I didn't like having to park a block away just to check in. I had to pay for metered parking.
- 5/5
It was our 1st time staying in Spokane in about 10 yrs. We came for the Heart concert and stayed here. It was great. Definitely coming back.
- 5/5
It was a a quiet. Not very clean. Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
As you stay at the hotel, you get access to the Spokane Club gym. It's a great facility and really was an accent to the trip.
- 4/5
Great hotel for the value and convenient access to shopping
- 5/5
The entire staff is friendly and professional. Warm and inviting atmosphere.
- 5/5
I stay at the Spokane club often in that I travel to Spokane for work. It is so historic, and the staff is amazing. I’ve had to change rooms and they were on it. I had trouble with getting the television to work and they came right up and fixed it. The location is supreme if you don’t mind walking a block to Riverfront Park mall. And the workout facility is the best I have found. The restaurant is clean, the food is delicious and the staff, especially love Katie, is fantastic!
- 5/5
Staff were fantastic in every way, especially Simon and Angela.
- 4/5
Staff was great. The hotel vibe is classic. The rooms have been updated but still have an almost historic feel to them. Having access to the gym & classes is a great amenity to take advantage of.
- 5/5
I love the classic feeling of the hotel. The staff is wonderful!
- 5/5
Lovely building and great club/exercise facilities. Key cards were a pain had to ask them to be reset daily.
- 5/5
The staff is very helpful. The location is wonderful, with restaurants and shops nearby. And the athletic club is amazing. I stay at the Spokane Club nearly every month for work, and it a pleasure.
- 5/5
Great Amenities inside the property, wet/dry sauna, excellent pool. Area outside of hotel in general in Spokane Down town is not safe.
- 5/5
Beautiful building inside and out. Perfect location for walking around downtown Spokane. Look up and all around if you like architecture..
- 4/5
I really like this hotel! The display of the history around the hotel was my favorite part. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable. It was a quiet and pleasant stay.
- 5/5

I love this place. It’s low key and quiet. The rooms are very comfortable. Access to the Spokane Club gym is amazing if you want to have a place to work out.

Staff was very helpful, kind and professional.

Great value, convenient location. The place has history and is unlike a typical hotel. The gym and workout facilities are the best part. It’s amazing and I will not stay anywhere else in Spokane.

- 5/5
Wonderful stay in this fitness and health hotel. Great location. The fitness club is extraordinary.
- 5/5
Great location for a downtown trip.
- 5/5
This place was above and beyond! Loved the pool and the views & the friendly, helpful staff!
- 5/5
The concierge made a lap pool reservation for me so I was able to swim laps for an hour, a luxury for me.
- 5/5
Great hotel and for our overnight stay in Spokane. Close to the Riverwalk area, restaurants, and activities. There are homeless people in the area so need to keep aware when you're out. Parking garage is off site so about a 1-2 block walk to the hotel. TIP: Use the loading zone parking spots to load and unload so you're not having to walk your luggage between the hotel and the garage.
- 1/5
The bed was the worst ever, uneven , the noise from a prom going on was terrible, tv was set on parental controls couldnt watch even the news. Staff didn’t give a hoot when you told them. For 215. A night should been extremely better then this, get better rest sleeping in the car!
- 1/5
Very outdated.
- 3/5
Parking is awful. It is several blocks from the hotel in a sketchy garage. I would not have felt comfortable walking to and from the garage to hotel if I was by myself.
- 3/5
I can not say enough about how wonderful the front desk people are. THE BAD: Very dated rooms, and a little funky.... I was wondering who's children did the remodeling? lol Crazy tiny bathroom sinks and bathrooms. In fairness we did want to stay in a very old hotel, and we definitely got that. There was only one tiny TV in the room and set to Spanish, which I fixed back to English(you're welcome). THE UGLY: What i really didn't like is that you have to make an appointment to swim and the hours are very limited, which the swimming pool is the main reason for staying there. I wasn't able to swim or see the pool, I ran out of time. FYI: Yoga class are on a schedule and you have to pay extra for that. I never went to any of the restaurants or got coffee.

Very comfortable and not a fortune. Close to many restaurants and Veterans Sport Center.
- 5/5
Great location and staff. I stayed the night for a concert at the knitting factory that’s only a couple blocks away.
- 5/5
It was a lovely historic hotel. The rooms were large with a nice sitting area. The walkability was wonderful. We loved everything about it.
- 4/5
Really fun to stay with all the history.
- 5/5
Property is a beautiful old Hotel!
- 5/5
Great service, beautiful hotel/club
- 5/5
Great location. Clean facilities. Friendly staff
- 3/5
Very dated… friendly staff but $2.50 for ear plugs?
- 4/5
Great customer service. Comfortable beds. Victorian feel. Great location.
- 5/5
Will definitely come back to take advantage of all the facilities!
- 2/5
This place was really bad for how much it costed and they charge you extra for parking and checking in early. The bed was terrible, room was not at all as showcased, and the doors slam toilets flush extremely loud, so everytime someone leaves or uses the bathroom, they wake up everyone. Outside was a homeless encampment (which is how they justify charging you to park two blocks away) and while it was close to a lot of businesses - downtown Spokane has basically devolved into an open air opium den. The $25 to check in early was also a first for me, my room had been ready but instead of just letting me go in so I could put my bags down - they had to nickle and dime me after already spending almost $200 on a room that was worse than any run of the mill motel. Would not recommend
- 2/5
Its old but charming, needs to be renovated because it needs updating. I would not stay there again or recommend it.
- 4/5
The bathroom is dated, but the area is quieter than other downtown properties.
- 5/5
I have stayed here several times, stayed here for 1 night and had a phenomal dinner. The pork osso was incredible. Only issue is the parking, habe to park in front before checking in and then walk a block to the secure parking garage. The decor could use some updating.
- 5/5
But the rooms were very clean!
- 3/5
The lady at front desk apon check in was rude and very unhelpful
- 5/5
I love the staff and the restaurant! It is very conveniently located near the highway but far enough off.
- 5/5
Brilliant
- 5/5
Nice facility with amazing access to the Spokane Club gym, which includes running track, pool, weight and cardio, racquetball /handball.
- 2/5
My room was not ready at 4:00 like i was told. Dirt was visible behind the bedside table. The ice machine outside my room was loud.
- 5/5
The staff really made this property great (huge kudos to front desk manager Callin, who was helpful and accommodating). The property itself has an old charm, which I love. It was conveniently located to shops and restaurants. The free wifi worked for my to be able to work from my hotel room.
- 5/5
Stayed for my 12 y.o.s birthday- everyone was so kind and helpful. They let us check in early, put items in the room before check in and really did such a great job making sure everything was perfect. Thank you!
- 3/5
The room we were booked in 1st night was a corner 4th floor road noise from traffic and late night road racing kept us awake until 2am then traffic resumed at 7 so 3hrs sleep both had earplugs in and it was still intolerable. next night they relocated us to the room next door with fan on high to drown out some road noise And earplugs it was still unacceptable got 6 hrs sleep. These rooms should not be rented at any price. we have had a good nights sleep in other off street rooms in the past.
- 5/5
Great to stay at the historic Spokane Club, would love it if bathrooms could get updated - corner sink is practically non-existant, with no counter areas in bathroom.
- 5/5
