It was a decent stay and breakfast for the price.

Overall this hotel fell a bit below my expectations and I would not stay there again. On the positive side, the room (a king bed suite) was large and the hotel was conveniently located relative to the interstate highways. I was also satisfied with the breakfast. However, most of the building, including our room, was permeated by a stale odor, largely, but not exclusively, from tobacco smoke. The building probably needs to be thoroughly aired out, the carpets replaced, and walls repainted to eliminate the odor. The mattress sagged in the middle (i.e. had developed troughs where people had slept over time) and needs to be replaced. The room had a lot of cosmetic blemishes that conveyed a lack of care--scuffs, marks, sloppy painting. The cleanliness of the property was OK but areas could have used a good vacuuming or sweeping. On the whole, I think that the owners need to make a significant investment in building maintenance and upgrades to justify the price point that they are currently offering.
- 3/5
The rooms was not very clean. Hair everywhere, stained bedding, urine on the toilet seat, and handprints all over the mirror. The breakfast was cold biscuits and gravy. The pool was only 3 foot deep and tiny. Not worth what we paid.
- 1/5
Room wasnt clean, tub had cracks in it and almost a hole, signs of bad wear everywhere, carpet in room was nasty, weight machine they had was from 1950, pool is tiny, breakfast was not great, out of most things, help just sat and played on the internet, had to tell him no food left as he wouldnt check to see. Then he put out cold food, id spend a few more dollars and go somewhere else.
- 4.5/5
The rooms were so clean and smelled great. By that I mean they had no smell. The air was clear. Slept great breakfast was pretty good too.
- 3/5
Room was not stocked with enough towels for number of people. Little frig had not been defrosted in a long time. Containers for showering were also empty, which meant getting with staff. It was all taken care of, but should have been ready upon arrival.
- 1/5
Smelled and dirty very low quality… homeless people are placed there by the community programs
- 3/5
Below average in all regards

Location Walls thin , heard people next room snoring/ air unit squealed/ food left in fridge from prior guests

- 4/5
This was a clean and well kept hotel. I would have given it all high marks except for 2 detriments: the lack of coffee maker in the room and the dry hard biscuit with the sausage and biscuits in the morning. I do understand why hotels don't put coffee makers in the rooms but I prefer ones that do. The biscuit had probably sat too long in the warmer.
- 5/5
Just the coffee. Mot enough selections.
- 3/5
The stay would have been better if the air conditioning unit wasn’t so loud. It made sleeping very difficult.

The room was clean and well-maintained, although the ventilation system had an annoying and sleep-interrupting rattle.
- 4/5
The hotel was quiet and not much traffic around. The breakfast had several options to choose from, both hot and cold. Check in took a while because front desk personnel was new and learning the process. Understandable.

I liked my bright comfortable room, especially that I could open the window for fresh air. Excellent bathtub and shower. Downside: Could to hear voices from the neighboring room. Breakfast could offer more healthy choices.

My truck got broken into in the middle of the night and my back glass was shattered. I let the staff know, but they did not have any surveillance cameras in the parking lot to assist me and weren’t supportive of the situation.
- 3/5
Room could be cleaner.. there’s a smell thought out the building.

There was Luke warm hot water for the shower. The breakfast was below average.

We had a tornado warning and the lady behind the desk was so helpful. Had us go into the women’s restroom and took charge of all of us. Had people in the pool to get out and go to the shelter as well. She was super nice and had a great personality.
- 4/5
Just wonderful
- 5/5
What a nice 2 star motel, easy to get to. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Quiet, clean, comfy bed. Lots of hot water. Dog friendly, but best part was Robyn at front desk, checking in was a breeze ( night before at a Motel 6, was a nightmare) she was friendly, kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Told us where to get food discounts with room key. Good help is hard to find, they’re lucky to have her, better treat her good, she’s an asset to the company! Please commend her. If we come this way again from MN, this is where we’ll stay.
- 5/5
The room temp was very nice and the breakfast had a good variety to pick from! The staff was really nice and they have a very pretty pool!
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Lobby smelled like marijuana, room was very cozy and comfortable. Initial staff member was fantastic, overnight staff was ok.
- 3/5
For the most part, my stay was okay. The room was clean, the lobby was usable, breakfast was OK. My issue was that the exhaust fan over the shower was very dirty and the closer attached to the doors need adjusting because they all slam shut. There is no electrical outlet by the bed to plug in your phone nor alarm clock. People next to my room were coming and going at midnight and the doors slammed every time. Needless to say, I didn't get a good night sleep.
- 1/5
The place was an absolute dump. Smelled terrible. The staff was beyond rude and uncooperative. I do a lot of traveling in my work, and I will make sure our company knows to avoid this dump at all costs.
- 3/5
Cold bfast.
- 2/5
The smell of the room, elevator, hallway was terrible, the ice machine broken, missing lots of food items at the breakfast. The pool was too cold for swimming too.
- 5/5
Budget friendly and awesome place to stay.
- 5/5
Everything was very nice & clean. Also it was along our trip.
- 5/5
Good Breakfast and convenient.
- 5/5
Clean room, although we had to wait about 15 minutes for housekeeping to finish cleaning. Only a few steps from the exit and parking. Generously sized room but the beds were a bit on the firm side. Breakfast was good, but could have more protein options.
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 1/5
I had the room booked for two nights, but I didn’t spend more than 30 minutes in there the first night, because of session, every hotel was booked 30 minutes in every direction, so I slept in the car. For the second night I booked another hotel downtown.
- 3/5
I dont know i slept
- 5/5
Multiple restaurants within walking distance
- 3/5
Met my basic needs for the trip.
- 3/5
Smells bad
- 4/5
I have stayed at this hotel on multiple occassions, during long road trips. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are extremely basic and it's been 50/50 for me if the tv works, but everything is always super clean and the bed and pillows are some of the most comfortable I've come across. Great for traveling with dogs. The hotel can be kind of loud if you get the wrong neighbors, but mostly, I've had good experiences. And the best part, it's a fantastic deal.
- 1/5
Rooms dirty and smelled like smoke
- 5/5
I like the location, It's small, quite, clean and and Excellent and friendly Personnel. Daily Breakfast and coffee 24/7. I love that.
- 5/5
Clean room. Easy check in
- 5/5
Clean room, waffles @ breakfast, pool, exercise equipment - great affordability. All the staff were super helpful & Robyn @ the front desk is awesome! Thanks for making my stressful travel day end well!
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff
- 5/5
Great value. Room was clean and comfortable. The only constructive feedback is that housekeeping needs to dust the counters in the room. The room was clean but counters and tables were dusty.
- 1/5
Lady at the check in wasn’t that thrilled that I used Expedia and put us in the handicap room #101 with a bit of a smile? Roomed smelled, shower water pressure so hard it hurt to shower, sink was clogged, no microwave. The worst breakfast selection no the cheapest selection of dry food. Coffee weak and ran out. Not allowed to bring food back to the room. NEVER AGAIN.
- 3/5
The staff was very nice, however, the room was dated and had paint peeling from the walls. The bathroom shower curtain had a few specks of mold. When I asked for towels on our second night, I was given two very rough cleaning towels to serve as bath towels and was told they were out of washcloths. The breakfast was okay but we chose to not eat the second morning due to lack of choices.
- 5/5
Staff was accommodating and friendly. Rooms were clean but one of the sofas was older needed replaced. One suggestion would be to updated the photos on the webpage as the center island separating the bed area from the sofa area was no longer there. But overall excellent stay for the money!
- 4/5
Clean room. Quiet, comfortable beds
- 4/5
Well there were handprints on the mirror. But other than that, it was fine.
- 3/5
Room was extremely small and super hot. We had to open the window and the door for an hour to bring down the temperature. We were travelling with two dogs that had a hard thing getting comfortable. We mentioned this to the staff but he brushed it off.
- 5/5
The staff is fantastic
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff. Good value
- 4/5
My room was clean, spacious and the stuff was nice. I enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
Robyn was super sweet and very welcoming
- 4/5
Easy check in
- 4/5
The attention and service were very good. We only found one fault with the shower, which needs to be repaired where the bath meets the shower. The shower does not work properly.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly. The room was clean but smelly.
- 5/5
clean room, nice staff
- 5/5
Did not eat.
- 2/5
Very small room and smelt like marijuana throughout floor
- 1/5
Bed super uncomfortable and I think it’s a hotel for weird stuff
- 4/5
The last night wasn’t pleasant, but I blame that on the large group of high schoolers running up and down the hall yelling, not the hotel. I wish school groups were better supervised.
- 3/5
Need to clean the room more
- 5/5
Clean room, decorations
- 4/5
Breakfast was very limited
- 3/5
Kitchenette and table both needed to be cleaned. Fridge was dirty! Bed was fine, good clean towels, bathtub was clean. Exterior building needs to be cleaned. Overall lacking in cleanliness. Should have spent additional $15 dollars for the property across the street.
- 3/5
Mattress had stains on it and toilet had pee all over the toilet seat. Very disgusting.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Nice hotel at a good price
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay here and were able to walk across the parking lot to a Mexican restaurant that had a patio that allowed dogs. The food was good too.
- 3/5
This was an older hotel, air conditioning was not on at all on the second floor. Had to turn the air on in the room at 11pm, so it took quite some time to cool down. Bed was comfortable, and clean.
- 5/5
Quite and safe place to stay. Overall it was a nice place to stay for a couple days. I will say if you have kids you may wanna find a place that has a bigger pool. The pool is only 3 ft deep and is really small.

2nd time staying here. Friendly staff and clean hotel at a great price. Will continue using this hotel for business trips to Springfield
- 5/5
Nice staff.
- 1/5
The bathroom was not cleaned, I cleaned it. The room smelled like sitting water. Poor lighting. It appeared people were living at the hotel.
- 3/5
The bathtub faucet was sloppy, loose-fitting inside the wall, and the diverter handle would not activate the shower head without some finagling. I'm surprised the faucet stayed attached & didn't leak inside the wall (or did it?). Also, the shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower was empty. An additional shampoo/conditioner dispenser was mounted next to the sink(!?) The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not operate, causing the room to become completely steamed up after two of us showered.
- 4/5
The hotel was conveniently located and at a reasonable cost. The breakfast was average, however the amount available was slim and to be out of milk made the limited offering of cereal even less an option. The area to eat was spread out and ok, but spilled food, on the floor, wasn't cleaned up in the half hour I was there. Another disappointing aspect was the lack of a freezer section in the room's mini fridge. It might be happening more often in hotels, but it's nice to be able to re-freeze freezer packs to keep some items cold in continued travel.
- 4/5
Good stay for a weekend
- 4/5
Heavy smell of fresh Erin lobby area!
- 5/5
The property was very clean and the staff attentive. The amenities suited the cost- no microwave in room and no hot breakfast. But the beds were super comfortable, the whole property super clean, the tv large and it was very quiet.
- 4/5
Hall smelled like marijuana. Clean, comfortable rooms. Helpful staff. Would probably stay there again.
- 5/5
Rom was very clean and everything i needed was convenient in this hotel.
- 1/5
I was not told of cash deposit. When I said I didn't want to stay. I was charged for room anyway
- 5/5
Overall, we enjoyed our stay this place was extremely quiet. There was ample space to take our dog out to potty. The free breakfast was great. The staff was friendly.
- 5/5
A place to rest good.
- 4/5
Just needed a place to stay near fairgrounds
- 5/5
Quite hotel, staff was very friendly upon check-in
- 5/5
Reasonable price and a very decent area
- 3/5
The room had a mildew smell. the air conditioning did not dehumidify the room. so anything that was damp/wet did not dry at all.
- 4/5
Solid place to stay- good AC which was nice since it was very hot outside. Offered a 10% discount to several restaurants that were close.
- 5/5
Staff nice , 10% discount on most surrounding restaurants in walking distance, quiet area, good food, clean room, will come back
- 3/5
Checked in early! Friendly lady! Room in bad repair….needs love
- 5/5
Food choices within easy walking distance wad very good. My bed was just a bit too soft for me but that could be a personal thing, my sister had a good bed.
- 3/5
Hotel was clean, but room smelled very musty. Breakfast was disappointing with not many options at all.
- 5/5
Overall good stay, would stay here again. Had no complaints.
- 5/5

The property had a terrible, musty smell. I had to go to Dollar Tree to purchase air fresheners for the room. The smell was so strong it was giving me a headache.
- 3/5
Excellent service and hotel was clean. Breakfast was ok not many options though. Room was clean but unfortunately a really bad mildew smell. Even after the front desk kindly found a dehumidifier it still was strong. Also fan in bathroom didn’t work at all.
- 3/5
Overall it was a good stay. Beds, counters, chairs, etc were generally clean, entire building could use a deep cleaning and just a little more maintenance. Elevator certification was out of date. Felt very safe. Pool was cold. Breakfast was OK, staff was very friendly.
- 1/5
I booked a queen suite , but end up getting a queen room that was really really small and it also had blood stains on the walls on the nightstand and walking out of the room. It looks as if it had blood on the carpet they did accommodate me and gave me a bigger room which I should’ve had in the first place, and that room was clean, but just the overall smell of the hotel stunk in the hallways on the elevator, they barely had a breakfast that was included just overall bad experience.
- 5/5
I liked the room and it was very cozy and comfortable. Staff was nice as well!!!
- 3/5
On my second visit, I was given a better room, though it hadn’t been dusted. It was manageable, so I didn’t raise any issues. However, during my third stay, the room again had not been dusted, and the bed sheets were noticeably unclean and had an unpleasant odor. Unfortunately, due to these recurring cleanliness issues, I’ve decided not to return.
- 4/5
The staff were very helpful
- 5/5
Easy access to eating places. Beautiful interior
- 5/5
Very nice hotel for the price. Clean room and bathroom. Check in was quick and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Clean rooms.
- 5/5
Very nice friendly staff, very accomodating. Fridge did t have a freezer so staff put my freezer items in theirs and i retroeved it next day, no problem. Breakfast offerings were decent, definitely a variety, ive seen better but ive seen far worse! If you want more than they offer, well then pay more for a different hotel :)
- 4/5
This hotel was clean, safe and super convenient. It was close to shopping and public transportation. There were also a number of restaurants within walking distance that offer a discount if you show your room key. Overall, a good stay and I would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
It was clean and we were able to check in early. I didn’t like the fact that we were supposed to get a queen bed, but got a full bed. I didn’t say anything because my husband was exhausted and needed a nap immediately.
- 5/5
Easy check in. Comfortable beds. Slept past breakfast. Easy check out!!
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly. Our room wasn't very clean, had something that looked like dogfood on the floor that wasn't vacuumed up and there was hair in the bathroom. Was cheaper than the other hotels in the area but there was a reason for that. We will not be returning to this hotel
- 4/5
Manager very accommodating
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
The room is clean. Bed was comfy. Nice to have a couch to sit rather than trying to sit up on the bed. Room also has fridge, microwave, and table with two chairs. Nice size room, too! Quiet hotel- and we were right next to the elevator. Breakfast was okay.
- 2/5
The smell was absolutely horrible. It smelled like animals were peeing in the building. Bathroom had hair and a used bar of soap in it. I had to beg for fresh towels. The cleaning tried to make me go to the front desk for towels but I insisted on fresh towels and she finally gave them to me.
- 4/5
Breakfast was okay.
- 4/5
Not bad, I think I forgot my business phone on the bed
- 5/5
Robin checked us in and was great with telling us about the local sightseeing opportunities and restaurants. She made us feel very welcomed!!
- 4/5
Very clean and staff is very nice. Robyn at the front desk was amazing and incredibly helpful
- 4/5
Nice and quiet, could do better on breakfast
- 2/5
Clean but smells so bad throughout like moldy wet carpet
- 5/5
Not sure what eco friendly meant, shower head was old and plastic cheap, expanding foam around water inlet pipe to shower head was missing or deteriorating, other than that gold stars, next survey that mentions eco anything will get poor reviews

Our room smelled very musty. When we went into the pool, the first step was slimy and I fell and hit my lower back on the metal railing. They have around the pool. I’ve had a bruise across my lower back since.
- 5/5
This was my first time to stay at a Microtel Motel and was a pleasant experience. The facility was conveniently off of the highway.
- 1/5
The first thing that was a red flag was the attendant. I told him first thing that i wouldn't need Thursday night & please take it off. He askedThere was dried bodily fluids on the bed along with, pubic hair & brown stains.
- 3/5
The stay was good, but could've been a bit better. The room was clean and the breakfast area was stocked. I had all the amenities that I needed and had a great night's rest. Unfortunately, one of the maintenance employees was cleaning up the parking area and they ended up spraying my car with dirt and got it all dirty on the front. An otherwise fantastic stay was made less so because of this. Overall I'd still recommend it.
- 5/5
All good

The staff were very helpful
- 3/5
Decent hotel for one night driving through. There were a few people smoking weed in the parking lot.

Had a wonderful experience at the Microtel in Springfield, Illinois while traveling to a conference in Springfield. The room was clean and comfortable, the free breakfast had many options, and staff friendly. Highly recommend!

The room was clean and nice. My only thing was the free "breakfast" I'm not a kid. I don't eat waffles or cereal. What a joke. Offer adult food as well.

Pet friendly!
- 5/5
Really appreciate front desk staff- Robyn, she was very helpful and attended to our concern right away, more than efficient.
- 3/5
The room was nice and clean. The pool was very dangerous. I was with my 5yr old son and the depth of the pool was only 3fr 2 in. We stepped in and immediatly slipped and fell. My son was no able to grip the floor to stand and could have drowned due to the extreamly slick surface of the bottom. I fell on my hip and he cut up his foot trying to stand up. Very dangurous
- 5/5
Had to hop in fir a night it was pleasant the staff was nice it was clean and I felt safe
- 4/5
It was budget friendly. Had easy access and accommodations for my dog at a reasonable cost. Staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
As a frequent customer, as I travel all week for work. I stay here frequently as I pass through town . I also stay at several different hotels throughout the week and I have to say their continental breakfast is the exact same every day. It’s always the cook your own waffles, toast, store bought hard boiled eggs, cereal & bagels… when you’re in the breakfast area, and there are people in there looking at what they have you hear them saying what a horrible selection they have. So it’s not just my opinion. Plus like I said, I stay in a lot of hotels throughout the week a different one every night. Only the Microtel has a breakfast that crappy. Every time I stay there, I end up stopping at a fast food place and getting breakfast.
- 5/5
Best smelling lobby ever
- 5/5
Very great customer service and clean
- 4/5
We have stayed at this property before but it was several years back. I have to say there has been a slight decline since then. The room we had had damage all over the walls. It looked like a fight happened and EMT services had been called, The bed we had the mattress felt like it was V shaped. Also, if you are traveling with your dog you may want to know ahead of time that they are not allowed to stay in the room alone, You will need to do take out or go to a dog friendly restaurant.
- 2/5
The room had broken knobs on the climate control system and it had to have been 85 degrees in the room. There was no way to adjust it. The smoke detector was hanging by wires from the ceiling. The condition of the room was poor in general. Neighboring room was playing loud music until the late hours of the evening. As much as I didn’t want to complain, I finally gave in and called the front desk. The lady was very accommodating and relocated me to an upgraded room.

Just treated me like a vio. Very friendly
- 4/5
Helpful, friendly staff, easy access from freeway, nice pet relief area, reasonable pet fee. I'd stay here again
- 1/5
I’ve stayed here several times because the pricing is cheap and the service/hotel explains it. From certain individual at the front desk being rude, rooms being dirty, and people have parties and acting ignorant in the hallway at early am hours. I’m a traveling nurse who just looking for a nice place to sleep. This hotel has played with me one too many times & I'll never book with them again.
- 5/5
Small room but well later out and clean.
- 3/5
We've stayed here a few times and the first time was great, the last two times were lacking. Last time, they had someone painting rooms and the exterior of the property and our room had clearly not been cleaned after being painted- there was dust all over the bathroom with footprints everywhere, and the paint job was terrible to boot. This time, the shower was broken and didn't convert from bath to shower fully, there's no body lotion in the rooms or at the front desk, the room amenities are poorly maintained, and the TV was damaged so the top half was discolored. Staff is friendly enough, the Mexican restaurant across the street is great, and we've never felt unsafe. Might be looking for a new place for our next trip, however.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 4/5
for the price this was a good option staff at front desk were very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
This was my second time staying at your hotel and it was a really comfortable experience. This is my preferred hotel whenever I travel through Springfield, Illinois.
- 3/5
The staff were polite but the room was dirty. There were coffee spills, lip stick on the shower walls and toiletry bottles, and dust lining the cloth like baseboards. It has potential to be a great place with just some deep cleaning.
