Quality Inn and Suites Springfield Southwest near I-72

Room was good. The A/C was nice and cool and the bed was comfortable. However I didn’t like the cigarette smell, sheets didn’t seem or smell clean they smelled like cigarettes as well. Luckily I had spray to get the smell out. The lady at breakfast the following morning. Cindy she was wonderful. She was so kind and was making sure everything was clean, stocked and ready for people to use. She even took my plate for me it was so kind. The pool and hot tub were accessible when we were there and it looked nice and clean. We didn’t swim since we were doing family reunions activities. Cleanliness of room 7/10 Staff 10/10 Breakfast 10/10 Check in and out 10/10 Also would like to add how the rate of the room was a fair price as well so couldn’t complain with that either

My beds were a 0/10 but everything else was ok: chunks of white stuff and debris and stained carpet. Pool and hot tub good. Bathroom clean. Breakfast was great.

The room and staff were nice but we decided to check out early because of the strong marijuana smell in the hotel. You could smell it in the elevator, hallway, and at times it would linger into our room. The strongest smell was when walking by the employees only door in the main hall by the lobby. This was a little much for us and so we decided to leave.

I had four rooms for eight people. The rooms were clean and comfortable. When we went downstairs for the included breakfast, the dining area was very crowded. They’re obviously was not enough space for the number of guests, and this was Memorial Day weekend – – the very beginning of summer. The food was good but halfway through my daughter‘s breakfast the server assigned to the area told us she needed my daughter’s chair for other guests. My daughter was still eating! Totally inappropriate. They need a large larger space for the breakfast buffet without a doubt!

The room was comfortable and pretty clean. Very conveniently located near stores and restaurants Smokers outside the building at the entrance, the smoke detector in our room was covered by a plastic bag. The coffee was pretty gross (and I'm not picky) and it smelled like Marijuana in the lobby most of the time.

The hallways reeked of weed and cigs. I found roaches in my room. Everything is rusty and old. Gross as gross can get. I checked out after only being there for a couple hours. Finding the roaches was the last straw. When I told the front desk she just said “I know I’m sorry”… they know?? Ew!

Needs updating but it was comfortable and safe. Breakfast was very good and the staff at breakfast were extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Nothing is updated here. It appears there are people living- long term here. The front desk staff are not very customer service friendly. The only person overly nice was the seeet lady who was working in the breakfast area. She’s the best and stands out from everyone else. Actually kind of a nasty place and wouldn’t stay again.

The beds were lumpy, the toilet seat was loose and when we got to the floor it smelled like weed.

Odor was so bad! Reeked of marijuana through the hallway and the room even more. The room also smelled like butt and body odor. I asked for another blanket and it had hair ALL OVER IT and was crusty.

Requested a certain room that we had previously on 2 other stays. Booked on hotels.com and then called the hotel to reassure we would get that room. Said no problem, until we checked in and not only didnt get that room, but having dogs we wanted a ground floor room. Didnt get that either. Will not be back there again.

The hotel was cheap in terms of the neighboring hotels, and I understand why. The room itself was not remotely bad (we were actually pleased with the room itself), but the shower/bathtub was so disgusting that my daughter and I wore our flip flops while showering. The lobby and hallways reeked of cigarettes and weed, so we put a rolled up towel along the floor at the door.

The room I was given with a broken tv aswell front desk was very rude. Had to leave because my kids had no television to watch.

Smell of smoke in the lobby and the rooms. Vagrants behind hotel were smoking. Person with asthma couldn't tolerate the smell.

Room was clean. Breakfast was well organized but was a little lackluster in its food offerings. Staff was pleasant. Couldn’t access the hot tub as it was constantly occupied by children but that’s okay, they were having fun.

The room was ok. The bathroom was a bit outdated and not very clean. The shower and sink were backed up. When I used them there was standing water after and I thought that was gross and unacceptable of a hotel. Upon check in the host was a bit rude. He gave us a Double Queen and I had paid for a King. I went back after going into the room and he said I had paid for a Queen and showed him the receipt and then changed his demeanor. Why would I lie and why was that not noted in their system?

The maid in the morning was yelling and cussing in the breakfast room at other hotel customers, the bed was itchy and I got a rash, and the mirror in the bathroom was smirred I could not see in it good. Not a pleasant stay.

When we arrived there was a dirty sock and empty bag that didn’t make it into the trash can left in the bathroom. The hallways smelled like smoke and weed even though it says it’s a smoke free facility. There were roaches in the pool and hot tub area. The breakfast employee was very rude to multiple people on multiple occasions. We will NOT be returning here.

Floors were dirty. Bed had stains. Bathroom had mold and mildew. The room smelled and the entire hotel smelled of marijuana though it states it's 100% smoke free hotel. The front desk person was friendly and kind. We didn't stay due to the marijuana and mold and mildew.

Mildewed smell to the room, red stains on the carpet, cracks in the ceiling from previous water damage. The lady who puts out the breakfast was extremely rude. Our buddy(whose wedding was that weekend) got sick the morning after staying in a room where there was mold on the glass and frame of a wall photo. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend. Have photos for verifiable proof.

The first room given had a horrible smell. We were moved to a better smelling room, but the bathtub and toilet were badly stained and there was a sticky substance on the floor next to where you get in and out of the bed. Additionally, the hot tub by the pool did not have working jets, the submerged light was dislodged, and then when we got out, 3 bugs ran out of the supplied pool towels. Also, there was a bug crawling on the door inside the breakfast area. The entrance drive cover was missing (not matching that pictured in the property listing). The hallway floors were uneven and dirty. Will not stay at this hotel ever again.

I called ahead to make sure the hot tub was in working condition and the person that answered said yes mame it is working along with the pool, well the hot tub was luke warm and the jets dis not work and people in there said the staff had been told, this was a huge disappointment and we would not have booked here had we been told.

Comfortable beds. The front counter staff were helpful and courteous. The a/c unit worked quickly to freshen up the room. The breakfast was well done, and lady attending to breakfast did a great job.

The usb ports in room were slow to charge, the bedcover had black stains (which they changed), the room and halls smelled strangely and the person in charge of breakfast shut down breakfast 1/2 hour early. Items in the room such as lamps didn't appear to have been cleaned in a while (grimy). Bathtub floor was stained.

The room smelled like mold and the bedding felt damp. There was definitely something wrong with the moisture in the room. The AC possibly, but it felt like sleeping on damp covers all night and we all woke up sneezing and stuffed up.

Heavy traffic and nosey. Back door broken and a lot of activity coming in and out of the building. Black mold and water damage on the ceiling of the room. Door don’t lock properly, room smelled and had to open the window that doesn’t lock either to air out upon entry.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Overall clean and looked nice. The room itself was great, but the bathroom you could tell needed an update. The tub looked dirty, but it was just worn. The pull out bed did not have the bedding on it, but there were sheets and a blanket in the closet for us to make the bed ourselves. I will say that as I pulled out the bed from the couch - it had trash underneath, so they obviously don't pull out the couch and check it between stays. I loved that the ice maker had a water filler as well so we could fill up our water bottles before we left.

The room had an odor that Fabreeze could not mask. The pool water was murky. The side entrance door and room doors did close and lock without deliberately pushing on them. The exterior door was of real concern since it looked like it had been pried open numerous times. The WiFi was spotty.

90% of the staff were quite congenial and helpful. There were a few things that appeared to be quite worn, but for the price paid probably within the norm. The breakfast was was good and appreciated. The fitness room offered decent machines, but the aerobics didn’t work. They had a child lock on them and none of the staff knew how to access the programs so you could use the stair stepper or a recumbent bicycle, but it offered no resistance for an actual workout. I had planned on using the the machines along with the weights to separate mornings and, even after bringing it to Staff‘s attention, there was no resolution for the two days stay.

The pool was open but not clean although the staff were unaware. In the fitness room, 2 out of 3 cardio machines did not work. The air conditioner in our room did not keep the temperature. The property was generally run down. The staff were excellent.

Walked into building and immediately hit with the strongest weed smell. Front desk staff was on a personal phone call on speaker phone while trying to interact with me. Got keys and when upon entering the room the smell was there too there was trash in the trash cans and a dirty diaper on the floor

From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, we could tell this was not a well maintained hotel. The lot was littered with trash, the grass was overgrown, and it smelled like pot. Walking into the main lobby the smell got worse and was mingled with mildew. Our room was even worse. The mildew smell was overpowering. If we had any other option we would have left that night but all other hotels in the vicinity were full. Would not recommend to anyone.

The property is old and needs a major upgrade. Vibrations were common just from walking. The toilet backed up and the plunger didn’t work. It did get fixed after a few hours. A floor tile right at the bathroom entrance was loose so overall, not very good. The free breakfast was quite ok though and the lication is convenient.

We have stayed a week so far and plan on staying till end of month so far everyone has been absolutely wonderful and staff has been awesome working with us. Would definitely recommend to anyone! We are staying with 5 kids and 2 dogs and hotel has been awesome!

We ended up not staying here. We walked into our room on the 2nd floor and the room smelled damp, mildew/mold, urine. The floor in the room sloped and the hallway floor felt unstable. The young man at the front desk was very nice and stated he was going to refund our money after I asked for one. I do not recommend this hotel.

Room was filthy and the couch inside the suite was dirty and off-color. Bathroom tiles were chipped snd door was creaking and wouldn't open all the way. When I asked Sara if she could switch me, she says, "no, the rooms are all the same." Terrible filth in the elevator, smelling like snoke and goat meat. NEVER AGAIN!!

They gave us toom 211 as soon as we got close to the room you could smell pot. Thay was playong music so loud you could hear it like it was in our room. Our door cards did not work. Went to get staff to use the key to.get in the room the 5 minutes we was in the room all we could.smell.was pot. We left and will never be back. Staff did nothing about the next door occupants.

Easy access with plenty of dining & shopping options close by. Hotel is older but suited our needs at a good price. My husband enjoyed the hot tub after driving all day. Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable so we slept well - my husband LOVED the soft bed sheets. Persistent smell of marijuana in hallway and our room was a little musty when we arrived, which dissipated after we turned the a/c on. The lady who managed breakfast service was very nice. We’d stay here again.

Food was decent

Room was clean. Bed comfortable. Our room had a musky smell to it. Noticed some mildrew around the shower/floor of bathroom. Stayed here on a Tuesday night, so pretty queit all night.

Wishwa always with a smile and helpful Cindy did the breakfasts She was attentive food warm best scram eggs Breakfast room Clean Clean Clean She accommodated all needs. Sarah at desk also so nice and helpful. The cleaning staff I saw 3 people fulfilled quickly all my requests. I will be back in September

Room was fine. Breakfast adequate

Had stayed at another quality inn in different town and it was bad so i relly didn't want to stay at this one in Springfield Illinois BUT to my surprise it was 100% better. Would stay again.It was very nice.

There was a fight at the pool, became an issue of color because there was a colored guy defending a white girl to a large colored family. The ridiculous large colored lady and her family was screaming and harassing the front desk worker, in front of all the people checking in and bringing in their luggage. Parents, kids and teenagers were scared and in the middle of what can be described as a riot by the colored family. The police came and not sure of the outcome thus far, though not likely the appropriate removal of this family that consumed the pool area as though they owned the hotel.

Need more parking spaces

Was not an 8 star…. Breakfast staff was amazing and helpful.
