We’ve stayed here before a few years ago, and it was nice, but we have vacationed at other resorts in St. Pete over the last 4-5 years. OH. MY. GOSH. Am I glad we came back! We were blown away by Tradewinds this time around! The staff was absolutely exceptional, the grounds were amazingly well kept, and there was an abundance of activities for all ages between Island Grand and Rumfish. We will be staying at Tradewinds each summer for our future vacations!

Music at the main pool was a little too loud. A bit excessive. Pools were very busy but then that's good for business. Went to beach every day. Just beautiful & staff will insert your umbrella for you. Water was clear & loved walking out along on the sandbar. That beach is hard to beat 💟

Dirty bathroom, bloodstains on the sheets, shower had no water pressure. Air conditioning leaked and flooded the bathroom; it took maintenance 4 hours to respond. Then once they said they fixed the issue the AC stopped working and they never responded until the next day.

Very friendly staff, amenities galore, always something going on and things to do with the kids. Only complaint would be the shower. When a hotel caters to families, a pull down showerhead would be so beneficial!! The littles had a hard time getting shampoo and conditioner out. And of course as a female, I much prefer a pulldown showerhead, sand gets everywhere!

We loved this resort for our family vacation with our 5 year old son. The beach is huge & stunning & easy to walk in! He had a blast for hours on the slide. We also liked that we could have an umbrella and 2 beach chairs at no additional cost. We also ate way too many smores at nightly s’mores party! Our som was too young for the aqua park (min age is 6) so that was disappointing for him. I did yoga on the beach at 730 am- it was more of a stretch session aka Hatha yoga. But it was peaceful & beautiful. We also did the paddle boat- which was fun for our 5 year old. The pools are all full of people & sunscreen so we stuck to swimming in the Gulf - which was perfect for us- salt, sand & sunshine- just as God intended. We also REALLY enjoyed the RumFish restaurant with the huge aquarium & ate there 2 nights in a row. We enjoyed the steak - the grouper was less enjoyable after looking at the grouper in the tank haha! Only thing I didn’t love was the walk from Island Grand to RumFish beach to eat dinner & do yoga… it was a bit long. But not horrible & they have a nice mat lining the beach to make it easier.

Property needs to be updated ; although surroundings and amnesties are nice ; the rooms indoors are NOT. It’s giving OLD and outdated especially for a resort as popular as island grand at tradewinds; honestly for the money we spent; Hilton hotel or Marriott hotel would have been much better when it comes to comfort of interior and cleaner interior and updated supplies in bathrooms. The property was simply OLD and outdated, we had found mold in one of the bathrooms in the 2 bedroom villa , and then they changed the two bedroom from sixth floor to fourth floor and it was not much better; we had a broken stove , issues with ac and a broken cabinet. Wear and tear everywhere, this is not a good look for visitors spending over 3k, it’s just not pleasant for visitors such as ourselves that like comfort. The staff could have been better when it comes to hospitality and approach; we got a refund of $62 ONLY, but the inconvenience we had to endure was worth way more than $62. We also arrived early on Thursday thinking we could check in early like most hotels and resorts offer , especially travelling from another state, mind you, this was a request we initiated prior to traveling, and once we arrived they made us went for hours, literally , we arrived 11.15am they made us wait until 3pm to check in . I mean it just made no sense ; we are six preceding from Texas and have been on the flight and ready to just change and unload and enjoy the property ; we had our two autistic kids with us at that and that didn’t make any difference to the staff at all; there was no sense of urgency or care. So that was highly disappointing. We wanted to enjoy the entire day for that Thursday but most of it was gone.

My kids are 7 and 8yo and this is the perfect place for our family. My husband and I can relax while the kids have tons to do. There are games and art daily at the pool and the big slide on the beach daily which is free. The restaurants on property are also great with lots to choose from whether you want a nice place or a quickie pizza and ice cream. There is always construction going on but usually that’s not a big deal.

Location was great. There were certain areas of the property that were clean and kept up. Much about the property needed fixes or updates. The mini golf area was completely ragged and in need of a rehab. Light bulbs in the bathrooms needed changing and overall cleanliness of much if grounds needed work.

The only negative I have is that they are pet friendly, but they don’t really have any real activities or much of an area that pets are allowed. Considering the pet fee with taxes come to around 85 dollars a night, I would have expected a larger pet area and some pet friendly activities.

This property is clean and well maintained, but will never stay again for $369/ni. The drinks were $15 each, but had very little alcohol in them and ordered them with floaters after the first 2 drinks. I was expecting a large pool area. The area accommodates people, but the pool is very small and the water was cloudy because of so many people in it. The property is old. The service was great. Worth what we spent. Absolutely not!

We arrived and checked in and went to dinner. When we returned the room smelled horribly of marijuana. The front desk did move us and if it was the only issue it would have been fine but i didnt come to move rooms. The ice maker on oyr floor never worked and I reported it Tuesday and we left Friday and wasnt fixed. Many of the planned events we cancelled but the message wasnt relayed but did receive texts about other events. When i tried to check out online it would not allow it(error) and I had to call twice before anyone answered at 5am on 5/29. I already have airfare to come back 6/29 to 7/4 but Im not sure I will book here. My wife was at Rumfish in April and loved it. I would have to have some assurance it will be better. Also forgot the AC went out in room Wed and they came right away and fixed it so kuddos to maintenance but one again another issue with the trip. I would need a pretty good price before I will take a chance the end of June

Very old hotel for such outrageously expensive prices over $400-$500 per night on the Memorial Day weekend. Not worth it at all, it is not a fancy world class Hilton or Bonvoy hotels chains top tier standards resort. Plus you need to pay for the water park and many other resort activities, not to mention the meals high prices including the breakfast.

Friendly staff. It’s huge, with plenty of activities. Perfect for families with young kids. It has all you need from shops, restaurants,… you don’t need to leave the property. They deliver food at the beach! They don’t control the ocean but was simply perfect. Room was clean and comfortable. You have to pay 15 dollar per day to sit at the front sits at the beach (even when there are plenty of spots). Also when is 5:30 they collect the umbrellas and sunset is only at 8PM during summer. That is understandable because the guys have to leave, but feels like being expelled from a concert when the band is in the middle of a song. I wish we could somehow close and store the umbrellas latter if we wish. Over all the hotel is super clean. But some areas are kind of abandoned feels like something is missing.

I also really liked that the hotel room had dishes in there so we could have plates and silver wear and cups to use. we really didnt care for the restaurants that was at the hotel, The taco place was the worst. we only had a couple bites and was done, so bad we couldnt eat it. Cons: Pools were small so got crowded and sometimes hard to find a chair to sit in (lots of pools though). Parking is $25/day, but so are all the other hotels in the area. Chairs/Umbrellas on the beach were complimentary only for rows 2 and 3, but not first row (the kids working those were great btw). Delayed check out was $20/hour past 11:00am. These are nickel and dime'ing considering the cost of the hotel itself.

after watching a sunset we witness a couple and there young child playing in front of playa taco as RATS ran across the cement its only a miracle the child wasnt attacked. we reported it to front desk who said its florida its common here we checked out and left 4 days early, booked thru expedia and were not issued a refund even tho hotel only billed us for the one night expedia couldnt reach anyone to issue us a refund so im stuck paying for a week we werent there. food options are horrible if your allergic to seafood your extremely limited on what to eat also if you not there at designated time you cant eat certain foods. the pool areas and walkable areas were very dimly lit and honestly me and my wife felt uncomfortable. would NOT recommend this to anyone every. it took almost a whole day to inflate the water slide, mother nature didnt cooperate nor did the lovebugs that swarmed the whole area covering us as we walked. if it wasnt for the teacher convention it was devoid if customers staying the only plus was water was blue,

Not alot went well unfortunately. Upon arrival an angry guest told the associate who was working with us "To step outside." He was visibly upset about his checkin experience. We felt bad for the staff having to deal with this jerk. The beach seems very nice. There are a lot of pools on the property but they seem disjointed. Its because a company bought up multiple properties to create whats there now. We did not care for the room we were given. It was very small, especially for the price. The room is in bad need of modernization. The bathroom was small and felt like a bathroom out of the 1970s. The balcony was hilarious! You could maybe fit a chair sideways on it.

Ok there is a lot this resort does right but can improve on some things. The activities for the kids are endless! Our group from 3-12 loved the waterslide on the beach & pool with the DJ/kids games was a lot of fun. The beach is beautiful and it perfect for young kids!! One of the biggest downsides is the elevators. They take forever to come and are often packed when you get one. I think this comes from the resort being older and not having any service elevators so the employees have to use the elevators as well which can often take them up. This resort is in need of some TLC as the rooms are dated and worn. The rug in our living room was fraying and some of the clips for the drapes were broken. Also during the stay my daughter had dropped a bag of chips in our room and while I did my best to clean it up there were still some small crumbs that needed vacuuming up. When housekeeping had not come by 3:30 I had called to check if they would be coming and was told that while they try to make it to every room each day they have been very busy so some days they have not been able to accommodate everyone. While they did come clean our room I do think this is worth noting if daily housekeeping is important to you. We did also find some dead bugs on the floor near the front window when we first got to our room so I don't think they do a really thorough job. Overall fun place but if you are expecting a higher end resort it is not for you.

Negatives: No cash use so every machine defaults to a 20% tip. Your teen gets dipping dots for $7 themselves and the person expects a 20% tip. It gets really old after a week. You go and get something yourself and the person expects a tip. There are a few buttons to figure out how to leave zero but the person watches you and it’s uncomfortable. Other than that, we had a perfect time there! It’s a great place with a kid.

Both the exterior and interior of the buildings show clear signs of wear and would benefit from major repairs. The pools are also quite small considering the size of the resort, which made them feel overcrowded. Our room was particularly disappointing—it felt run down, with old beds and worn bedding. The bathroom door was chipped and damaged at the bottom, which added to the overall neglected feel. Given the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard. Sadly, this is not a place we would choose to return to.

The palm court Italian restaurant was awful. The waitress was wonderful but the food was horrible. Zero flavor, overcooked, or bad tasting. I cannot stress enough do not waste your money. Rooms. While great size the walls are extremely thin. We could hear EVERYTHING. Made sleep difficult. Elevators were always not working. We were on the 7th floor so we needed to use them but if I wasn’t I would have never touched them again Lastly, be prepared to pay for a lot. I recommend stopping at a store or a Instacart to help with expenses. Tip. There are white boxes by the beaches. Families will leave sand and pool toys there when they leave. Just borrow no need to buy any. Pros: The most family friendly resort I have been to ever. There is so much to do for kids. Feeding the ducks, paddle boats, crafts, movies, smores, and endless beach and pool. There was not a moment of boredom even possible. We just went as a family of 3 and it was amazing. Beach was beautiful and clean. Water crystal clear. RumFish grill is fantastic! Easily best meal. Bitsro was pretty good and a solid staple.

The pools and hot tubs have cloudy water with lots of chlorine. Spending any time in the pool is tough due to the strong smell of chlorine. The rooms are also outdated. Have a super loud HVAC that will not let you sleep at night. The bathroom ceiling tiles rise when the AC unit kicks on, then slam down when the unit turns off. The sliding door to the balcony is hard to open and close due to the rollers not working. Same issue with the closet door. The bathroom has a gym shower and a toilet that barely flushes. Other amenities on the property are also out of date or are old and dirty. Hammocks are torn, day beds have stained pillows and mattresses, lots of trash around from previous guests.

What really sets this resort apart is the atmosphere. It’s incredibly family-friendly with endless activities, from water sports to poolside fun, yet still relaxing enough for adults to unwind. There’s always something to do, but it never feels overwhelming. The staff is welcoming and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. The amenities are a huge plus—multiple pools, on-site dining, and plenty of entertainment options right at your fingertips. It’s the kind of place where you can stay on property the entire time and never get bored. While some areas of the rooms could use a bit of updating, everything was clean and comfortable, and honestly, you’ll spend most of your time enjoying the beach anyway. Overall, TradeWinds is a great choice for a fun, memorable beach vacation. Whether you’re traveling with family or just looking to relax by the ocean, it’s a place you’ll want to come back to.

Kitchen amenities are lacking(no dishwasher or oven, no paper towels, minimal cooking pans). The water takes minutes to warm, sinks don’t drain, etc. After checkout, I looked over our bill and we were charged $25/night for a roll-a-way bed. Not a problem if they would have disclosed that to me when I asked for a pack n play. We definitely would have just used one of the other beds in our room that was meant for up to 10 people(we only had 5). The food was overpriced (as expected) but terribly low quality. Absolutely disappointed with this place and will never be back.

Everything we needed was on premise. Pre Check-in and post check out we were able to enjoy all amenities. Checkout was at 11 and our flight was at 7. We were able to squeeze in an additional beach day as they also had a private shower and changing room to use post checkout. Everything was kept super clean. Loved that glasses mugs and utensils were provided as well as dish soap. Also loved the water bottle filling stations all around campus. Our room was by the elevator and a bit noisy. We could hear neighbors and other guests pretty clearly. We turned the bathroom fan on at night for white noise which helped a lot. Shower Water had a sulfuric smell. There were baby ducks in the paddle boat area. Ppl kept nearly running into them and really stressed out the mom and dad ducks. Idk what could be done to prevent this but it was sad to see.

I liked the location of the property and the staff at the beach that helped reserve your beach chairs. I also liked that there was a beach bar and food on site. I did not like the fact that when I arrived the lady at registration did not explain anything about either of the resorts or that we had access to RumFish. We arrived early and our room was not ready, I had to go back up to registration after 4 to check on my room then once given our room and we got up there with all our luggage the maids were still in the room cleaning. I did not like the fact that I did not have maid service daily although I did not leave the do not disturb sign up. I had to hunt down the maids daily for new towels and coffee. This resort has staff walking around sweeping and doing all kinds of things but yet simple things like having towels in the room were not accomplished. I didn’t like the fact that on top of the high priced room and $55 resort fee you pay you have an additional $25 to pay for parking. Then the room which was a balcony you could barely open the door to outside the sliding mirror in the closet of the room was broke could barely open it. The room was outdated.

The amenities were nice, and access to the beach and pools was convenient and enjoyable. However, the room was in very poor condition. First, check-in was supposed to be at 4:00 PM, but we didn’t receive our room until 5:45 PM. Although they offered us a late check-out, it didn’t make up for the issues we experienced. The biggest problem was a leak in the bathroom ceiling—it was leaking like a shower. By 8:30 PM, we couldn’t even use the toilet because the water was dripping directly over that area. Maintenance came and fixed it temporarily, but the issue continued. The next morning at 8:30 AM, the leak started again, with water coming down from the ceiling like a shower. I also want to mention the poor cleanliness in the bathroom. The door was dirty and showed signs of moisture damage. The staff did try to help and were attentive, but for the price we paid, the solutions provided were not acceptable. Overall, not a good experience.

This hotel is not baby/toddler friendly. The management was unsupportive of baby needs. They charge for a pack n play, $25 per night. I had never been asked to pay for a place for my baby to sleep safely. It’s not even for a crib, it’s for a worn out pack n play that you can buy on Amazon brand new for $49. So for a 4 night stay you pay it off fully, twice. That’s not even the main issue. A week before our stay I messaged them asking if it at least comes with a proper mattress and sheet. They confirmed it comes with a mattress but no bedding. They just offer a queen flat sheet for you to figure out how to fold to make it fit the pack n play. Which was fine, I brought one. When we check in and they brought the pack n play, it of course didn’t come with a mattress. So they wanted to charge $25 per night for a big box with no mattress. And they expected a child to sleep in it. Additionally, the room they gave us had no room for the pack n play as it was filled with furniture. The only place we could put it was in front of the bathroom, blocking the bathroom door. We asked if they could take out the tables and the chair at least so we have some room, they claimed that it wasn’t possible. After about an hour of us trying to reason with them, they finally sent someone in to help but he only agreed to take out 2 chairs. Also worth noting the loud live music right under our window that played until 10pm, forcing us to keep our baby up way past his bedtime.

Amenities were awesome. Very nice resort. Rooms were a little outdated but perfect for a family vacation. My only complaint was they tried to charge me 25$ a night x5 nights for a bassinet for my newborn. I went and bought one for 60$. Resort fees and parking really add up- over 400$ for a 5 night stay. Overall I would recommend it, especially if you’re getting a good rate. Restaurants are good but severely overpriced- can walk across the street and each much better and for way less money,

There is also a cabana area with acoustic performs, firepits, and super comfy couches. Everything is easy to get to and well-maintained. Had a great time at the resort! It happened to be record cold temperatures during our stay, but there was still plenty to enjoy. The food especially was very accessible and amazing. We really enjoyed Pilates with Lauren as well! The accommodations were lovely and staff was very responsive to any requests. Would recommend and would stay again!

My only issue was when I checked in. I was ignored at the front desk while checking in. She ran through all of the information very quickly, as if on auto pilot. When she was done, I parked where the map said to and noticed that every car had a pass on it. So I rounded back to the desk, with all of my luggage, to inquire and her response was “oops”. For the amount of money I paid to stay there, I would expect a more of a professional atmosphere.

A key was issued to an individual without authorization, ID check, etc. Blood on sheets, lint painted over in bathrooms, filled vents in bathroom, phone in room didn't work, ants were covering the ordering area by the barista in the resort- when I commented regarding it, she pointed to the spilled syrup informed me there was sugar and killed an ant with a napkin from a stack of napkins that had ants crawling in them. When going to the front desk to address bedding concerns the first time, the house keeping supervisor, Suzanne informed me that it was probably me because “I let me kids live out the bed” as she glance at a snack still in the bag that had bed sat down by my 4 year old after being told not to. I returned from the beach, beds made with dirty bedding, went to the front desk as the phone didn't work and again addressed the bedding- was told I'd been refund resort fees of $350 per the issuing of a room key to an unauthorized individual so room keeping would there in a couple hours, maintenance was working on the phones and I could call the front with my cell phone. I informed them I didn't ask for money back, just a clean, safe place to stay.. This was after she addressed me by the wrong guests name and room number and I had to correct her. There was plywood boards with nails and no indication of them being around corners in play areas that kids almost ran into numerous times. It was a mess- I shouldve been happy though, I was refunded $350 but bought my own bedding.

I didn't realize the kitchens where furnished with things to make meals, so we tried to go get meals which was a challenge. no continental breakfast, or really any resturant breakfast options from the hotel. We fed the ducks at 10:30 am, and that was a great way to start the morning. the pools where warm, and the experiance was amazing. And the water of the ocean was pretty, and drinking a tropical drink on the white sandy beach under an umbrella, on Christmas morning, a day after my birthday, in my Mcdonalds Grinch socks was the best. Oh and the Sunsets where great! A++

The biggest disappointment was that the shops in the foyer were never open and when I asked about utilizing a coffee shop, I was told that because there were not enough people staying in the hotel, they did not staff the shops. They ask if they wanted to move, yes they upgraded me to a suite which was very nice. The hotel itself could use a little updating but that absolutely would not prevent us from returning! This place is a gem!! All of the front desk ladies that we encountered were so kind and helpful. Lee the bellman drove us in the golf cart over to dinner. He was so nice!! Had a great family trip to this property. It’s 2 resorts and is massive. We stayed at the islander. It’s a very old property in need of some TLC. What was fantastic was the beach, the amenities, the food in the restaurants and the service. With so many of the restaurants and various other parts in repair I think we would’ve been disappointed had it not been for the service from the staff throughout. People like Esi and Cathy at Palm Court, Rich our Bellman, Maceo at the beach and Margarita at the front desk made our stay so pleasant. We would come again in the future when more options are open and we would choose a room closer to the beach. This place is in a good way hugeeeeee.

The beach is pristine and amenities are abundant (e.g., pools, loungers, paddle boats, boardwalk, large outdoor chess game). Personnel are friendly, accommodating, and a great asset to the property. The few restaurant/food options that were open had excellent service and menus. Maintenance is the biggest dilemma with this resort as some areas are damaged and still being restored from the hurricane. General maintenance is also in need of enhancement (e.g., poor painting that has spilled off walls to art or baseboards, some peeling, bath fixtures hanging off wall, water staining, tired carpets, TV remote not working, doors very difficult to open etc.).

The Island Grand is a beautiful property, and overall, we enjoyed it and would stay again. Great dining options, and you have access to both the Island Grand and Rumfish properties. There was an issue with storm flooding on the ground floor of the resort, and resort staff worked hard to dry up the carpets and had fans going. It looked like they also had an outside company come in to clean the carpets and disinfect, etc. We were on the 4th floor, so it wasn't an issue for us, but we did have to walk through some wet, soggy areas. The balcony room was small, and the balconies at Island Grand are not private. It looked like the balcony rooms at the Rumfish were more private, similar to a condo balcony with concrete walls. The on-site dining options were good, so no need to go off-site unless you wanted to explore more of the area. The only other setback and total surprise to us was that upon check-in for a 3-night stay, they put a hold of $700 on our card to cover not only parking and resort fees, but also "possible" expenses charged to the room. This might be standard at resorts, but it ties up a chunk of funds. We used our credit card, so it wasn't an issue, but still a surprise and unexpected for them to hold that much money against available credit. To put it into perspective, we had already paid for our entire room stay through Expedia, and our total bill at checkout was only $280 for resort fees and parking. We opted to pay directly at restaurants. Overall good experience!

#1: One of the parts of the lock simply didn't exist; it had apparently been ripped off, making it impossible for us to provide greater security for our family. #2: You can see the poor condition of the curtain. There were so many holes it looked like there were an army of moths. #3: Bathroom exhaust fan cover heroically holding onto the wall to prevent it from collapsing. #4 and #5: You can see dozens of stains from something that apparently exploded in the kitchen on the chandelier, bathroom door, and ceiling. #8 (#9 is a video but couldn’t be attached here): This was probably the one that bothered us the most), there was a noisy renovation going on in the apartments directly below ours. It was impossible to sleep late during our stay because the machinery was extremely noisy. I fully understand that it's impossible to undertake a renovation of this type without generating noise, but we were shocked by the hotel management's failure to block off the rooms surrounding the renovation and to place guests as far away from the area as possible. #11: After an 1 1/2 hour delay, this is how the kids had to watch the movie (the staff just didn’t know how to operate the projector). A have a few more to say, but my 1,500 characters are gone. Thank you

Well let's see as I was checking in everything seemed ok I was handed my wristbands and then the nice lady at the desk says, we require a $200 a night deposit. I wasn't expecting that but we worked it out. One day in the middle of our vacation wednesday or Thursday the toilet was overflowing I call the front desk they were sending someone up, after about 7 minutes I walked outside the room to stop a resort employee so I can get help at this point my wife had every towel on the floor in the bathroom. Finally someone is walking by I say I need help he calls someone I speak to them they say I'm sending someone right over Mr. Potter, well after 10 minutes no one came over. I walked to the room were towels are stored I grab 3 and made my own plugger and unclogged the toilet...WOW what a vacation. I'm a Maintenance Mechanic at Meadowood Senior Living this what we do 10x a week. I wanted a week were I didn't have to do it.

I read a lot of reviews of this and other hotels in the area before booking and there were some things that I agree with and others I feel like they have addressed. Check in was great and they got us in our room quickly. Overall the front desk staff were cordial but not the nicest from the couple of times I had to interact with them on a variety of question and just witnessing them interact with other guests. The rest of the resort staff were very welcoming and engaging when interacting and I appreciated the efforts they made (especially with a large convention also staying there). The amenities and extra activities were great. Well, worth the stay in the extra money that you pay for them. The pools were also equally as nice having the variety of them. They were on the warmer side, but that is understandable, considering it’s Florida and the sun. I will say there was a pool that had all shade, which was very nice for escaping the heat and was on the cooler side. As someone had mentioned in previous reviews, there was not as much shade near the pools, and there could be more of a benefit of having some umbrellas that would be nice. The beach was great and the free umbrellas for the last three rows were also very helpful. As far as the state of the hotel, there is definitely room for upgrades as many of the areas, including the rooms seemed outdated.

Great family friendly hotel. Lots of activities for the kids to enjoy and there is a kids club so the adults can have a night out if you wish. The only issue we had was the food at the hotel restaurants. The fish and chicken we ordered at 2 different on site restaurants were over cooked and very dried out. Eat off site if you can.

Our toilet ran constantly, it took over an hour to get extra towels to shower after the beach. Our bathroom could’ve been cleaner. Children can not reach the soap dispensers and shampoo dispensers in the shower or on the walls of lavatory and they do not leave any soap on the counter or cups in the bathroom to rinse. You are way better off to take the stairs if you’re able. The food they serve there is outrageous so you’re better off going down the street to crabby bills. We’ve stayed here in the past, but this was terrible and I will not go back.

The room was ok, but a bit dated. Service staff were helpful and cheerful. Prices at the restaurants on site were very high as were snacks, ice cream etc. Activities were plentiful especially for kids. Overall, it’s a nice hotel despite the high prices.

We had a great time. The beach was well maintained. They could use some upgrades in the rooms with more up to date furniture, and carpets ( its like my old grandma furniture). Food is rather pricey, this forced us to eat and drink off the property.

We stayed for 6nights.. on our 2nd night we found blood stains on our bed sheets but our kids had eaten chocolate pudding so I didn’t think it could be blood, however after we changed rooms yet again there was another blood stain on our bed sheets.. the 3rd night we stayed there as a lizard in our room called to have someone come removed it that was a waste of time because he was more concerned with the dresser he broken than trying to get the lizard out. So after he left I went to go check on the food we had under the stove and found cockroaches crawling around in our food!!!! After that we changed rooms and were told we would not be charged the resort fees. The next morning I pulled covers off the bed my children were sleeping in and found what now I could confirm was an old blood stain on the bed sheets again!! Called housekeeping and they came to change the sheets. I was so disgusted at this point so I took a walk to look around and seen that all of the bed linen was stored out in the main hallways OUTSIDE, not covered and up against the buildings. Mind you this was in our 2nd room for our stay!! Then we found out the stove was not working so I went down to ask someone to come fix it no one ever came.. I had to track down the maintenance guy to come fix it.. the lamp in our 2nd room was also broken all he did was screw it back in and the light was still fluttering of and on but I guess that was good enough for him. My son also slipped in bathroom due to condensation.

The elevator was broken in our building, the A/C was dripping in our room in the middle of the tile floor the entire time, and finally just quit working on our last day there. The adult pool wasn't an adult pool any more or rules were not enforced. There were only a couple of umbrellas around the pools. Several of the restaurants were closed for repairs. Our room wasn't ready when it was supposed to be at check in at 4pm.

Overall a meh experience. For starters the individual that was checking me in had huge attitude about checking people in. Like she just hated being there. Then she put the hold on my account for almost 8k yes 8 THOUSAND more than she was supposed to. Luckily the manager was there the next morning and could help me get the hold off my account. She was nice enough to offer dinner and breakfast tickets. Our room was a hotel room at best. No ice bucket. Not that it matter because the ice machine on our floor hardly ever had ice in it. My daughter and I were very allergic to something in the room. Id assume mold as it had a very musty smell. The rest of the staff that we dealt with were friendly but only if they were doing something if you tried to randomly ask one something when they were just passing by they were very rude and felt like we were bothering them. EVERYTHING is ridiculous expensive. They say complimentary beach seating but dont tell you the first two rows are $15 a day. But then they dont control it so people just sit there or take your seat. Just overall very disorganized and most of the people working on the beach were just filled with being annoyed. Like we were inconveniening them to ask question. Not all some were very friendly and very willing to help. If I didnt have the meal tickets I would have been extremely disappointed in the food at the resturants for the price. They also refuse to allow door dash or anything out of the lobby. I paid for a gulf view

Pros: the service from all staff was stellar, not a single bad experience from check in, bartenders, grounds, servers etc. - proximity to the beach and a number of great activities for family and adults - several food options on site (a little pricey but it’s a resort) -water fill up stations for bottles was such a great perk in the heat! Cons: There are several small pools throughout the resort, however the main pool at Island Grand was in need of better upkeep. The rooms are a little run down for the nightly price/resort fee. Our bed was hard as a rock and the linens are basically two sheets and a scratchy blanket. We paid for a room with a balcony- the balcony was basically a small ledge with a fence around it. Not enough room to sit comfortably. Our family had numerous problems with their room: broken AC, TV didn’t work, and bed rails were broken. Which leads me to another con- no one ever answered the front desk phone when requested assistance. We had to walk to the front and wait in line each time. Not only is the walk long, but we wasted time waiting in line more than 3 occasions for a simple request. Lastly, it is mentioned on Hotels.com and on TradeWinds web that there is airport transportation. This is not accurate information. The hotel has two- 3rd party people they recommend but they are not insured or employees of the company. We ended up having to take an Uber.

We have been staying at Clearwater Beach the past 2 years but came to St Pete Beach this time around. The change was made cuz some of Clearwater Beach is still recovering from the last hurricane. To keep it simple, we will return to St Pete Beach. For what we like to do, it is a better location. If you like wide beaches from hotel to water St Pete is the place, but if you like walking the street and stopping at outdoor bars/pubs for music, then it’s Clearwater. TradeWinds is nothing to speak of. Outside of a beautiful entrance, your room is nothing amazing. I thought it would be better. Maybe it was just my room. Toilet did not flush great, bathroom sink did not drain well and molded caulk around the tub was just caulked over versus removed and recaulked. The elevator system main building is biggest problem. They are slow to begin with with both guests and service staff/housekeeping using. Further on many occasion one had to manually shut the door so the elevator would move. They charged for beach chairs in the first 2 rows on the beach while you pay a hefty daily resort fee. They indicated there was an adult pool but all pools on property had kids, I guess they didn’t monitor. You could only find music at the main pool. Now it’s not all bad, they have many activities on resort to choose from and several food options. We did not use much. We chose to spend our money at the local restaurants. If booking make sure your getting what you are looking for.

To start off, there was ALWAYS a line for the elevator (at least one in our building was broken.) Also, the elevators that did work were slow and had no AC. Our room was not the cleanest & we didn’t notice how bad it really was until we were unpacked. Not wanting to have to move rooms, we left it alone. There was quite a bit of dust everywhere and we found a cockroach behind the couch that was still alive. Our tv quit working one night and while it took maintenance a while to get there, he very kindly found us a new tv to replace our broken one. For the price, I expected it to be cleaner and better quality all around.

We were not really explained how their services worked and the elevator was ridiculous it took forever most of the time we had to take the stairs. Everything on the resort is ridiculously priced. We had almost an extra week of booking placed on our credit card as a hold so be prepared to schedule like two bookings. The price that was given through Expedia didn’t line up with resort so there ere more costs- which I was told Expedia misrepresented themselves with quote. Be prepared for spending 5.00 on each soda each bottled water and the food wasn’t all that limited choices and costly.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted with complimentary champagne and full bellhop service, a great first impression. Unfortunately, when we got to our room, we discovered a major leak and had to return to the lobby to be reassigned. Our new room, like the original, was courtyard-facing and acceptable, though nothing particularly special. The resort’s first floor is currently under renovation due to the storm damage, which meant early morning wake-ups from construction noise and visible work being done throughout the property. This construction often overlapped with resort activities, which made parts of the experience feel more chaotic and less relaxing. That said, the resort offers a wide range of amenities and activities that are well-organized and fun for all ages. One thing to note: the TradeWinds actually operates two adjoining properties, and many of the activities are spread across both. Be prepared to do a bit of walking between the two resorts. Highlights of our trip included the two-story waterslide, beachfront cabanas, ocean obstacle course, and a variety of paid beachside experiences like parasailing, banana boat rides, and jet ski rentals. These features made for several unforgettable beach days.
