The hotel has a beautiful beach and friendly staff, but some guests have complained about the need for renovations and maintenance. The food and service at the restaurants have also received mixed reviews.

The main lobby entrance is on the upper level and requires use of above the road ramp to access. The main lobby also has several stairs to navigate when entering. It’s a challenging start to vacation if not prepared. The staff is very friendly and willing to assist. The beach is beautiful and relaxing.

The staff was welcoming and attentive throughout our stay, and the resort amenities made it easy to relax and enjoy every moment. Whether lounging by the pool, walking the beach, or enjoying a cocktail while watching the sunset, the experience felt luxurious and memorable. I can't wait to return.

The dinner was a little of over priced for the quantity but it was very tasty.

Underwhelmed by quality of stay and service when compared to the price. Beach access was nice.

Amazing experience. Beautiful hotel
- 5/5
Everything about this hotel was lovely, if I had one fault it was the size of the bathroom in the room which was tiny. The rest of the room was fine.
- 5/5
We always have a wonderful time at the Don Cesar- Particularly at the pool with the amazing Katie, and at Aqua class with Elizabeth. We will definitely be returning!

Espicially because of Katie our Pool Attendant/ Waitress. She Welcomed Us daily with a Beautiful Personality and made Our stay Special and Made Us feel Extremely Welcomed. Also Suzie in the Gym was very Helpful from Recommending Restaurants to assisting with Gym Equipment. Both ladies were Exceptional.

The pool and beach bar staff really worked hard. Housekeeping, removing glasses and cups from the pool area, and removing room service trays from the hallways are all areas for significant improvement at this price point. The restaurants serve delicious food.
- 5/5
We absolutely love coming here. Every time is better than the last. We did the cabana a few days and Brittany was the greatest server! All of the staff were friendly and attentive. Brittany though, made the weekend extra special for my husband’s birthday. You should make sure you visit her too.

I had high expectations for this place due to its reputation but I won’t be back. There are much better beach hotels imo. Most of the facility was dirty and not well maintained. There were wedding parties running up and down the halls until 4:30am both nights and nobody seemed to say or do anything about it to make sure other guests were not disturbed. The pool bar is dirty. The pools were dirty. Disappointed to say the least.

The resort doesn’t have much to do. For the expensive price, I excepted more to do at the resort. I didn't like how people can pay to use the pool for the day even if they weren’t staying at the resort, which made the pool service slow and no access to pool chairs. There’s only a few restaurants and most of them share the same dishes. The room was tiny. Getting to the toilet, I had to open the shower door because I am pregnant and I didn’t fit. There was no microwave in the rooms, which meant I couldn’t take my leftovers back to my room. The shower seemed to have mold, maybe because when you shower, the water seems to just slip out. Overall I expected the service to be above and beyond but some staff seemed like they didn’t want to work there. I wouldn’t stay there again. It’s was okay overall.
- 5/5
This place os amazing! We loved all of to! Food, Beach, Room, and staff. Definitely plan a return visit!
- 5/5
every aspect of my stay at the don cesar was absolutely amazing. the whole staff from the valet, restaurant staff, and beach hut attendants, and spa employee’s really went above and beyond with their customer service. i will definitely be returning and telling all my friends!
- 4/5
Our last visit here was 13 years ago and some improvements like the gym and elevators are noted . Overall great but be aware or many extra charges like resort fees and taxes etc. It's starting to become a bit dated around common bathrooms elevator entrances and patio chairs but some paint and simple maintenance could solve that . The food is expensive but very good and staff is well trained and helpful. Beach is perfect .

Beautiful resort and views. Excellent beach. However the resort is a little boring and there’s not much happening in the lobby or common area. If you’re not dining there isn’t much in the way of entertainment at night, and there’s nowhere nearby worth walking to (fine for a resort stay but not fine if the resort is lacking action).

The overall condition of the property felt poorly maintained, outdated, and far below the level expected for a hotel with this reputation and pricing. The room cleanliness was unacceptable, especially the bathroom, which was honestly disgusting when we arrived. It made the stay uncomfortable from the very beginning. For the amount of money being charged, basic cleanliness and proper maintenance should never be an issue. The advertising creates expectations that the hotel simply does not meet in real life. The only positive part of our experience was Nick at check-in. He was very attentive, professional, and kind from the moment we arrived, and truly the only person who made us feel welcomed. Overall, very disappointing and absolutely not worth the price.
- 5/5
Beautiful beach. Everything was great. Spa date was a success. Loved it.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with exceptional staff. Hotel was clean and there was plenty to do. The only down side was the food. I made me sick and really wasn't very good I tried all of the restaurants and although presentation was pretty, taste was at like a 2.

Location is great, however, way overpriced for the experience and services offered. The Marriot Residence Inn Treasure Island rooms are just as nice at a fraction of the cost. A few unsavory guest in the lounge area.

Beautiful hotel with attentive staff. Loved our room with partial ocean views. We loved the beach and loved that we had chairs with umbrella at no extra charge. Drink and food service on the beach was excellent. We will definitely be making this a regular Florida vacation spot.
- 3.5/5
The property was nice, but I felt like everything was overly priced. Nothing had prices tags on it and we wind up paying more than we would’ve if we chose to eat or drink drinks other locations. Everything we purchased we were charged 22% in tips whether they deserved a tip or not and they were just two of us. We felt like it was price gouging, in all locations in the hotel. Everything was extremely overpriced and I’ve stayed at nice hotels all over this one was the most expensive and not worth the money.

We were greeted with a glass of rose, which was a lovely touch. It was our anniversary so we even shopped in the gift stores on site. The beach is fluffy sand and crystal clear water and I loved the lounge chairs and umbrellas included! After check out we enjoyed the beach still that day and felt we received more value in that respect. There’s even a changing room and shower by the pool because at that point you don’t have a room, so that was awesome. Overall amazing and we will be back soon!

I was in the area for a business meeting so my family went with me to hang out at the beach. Overall, the staff was not very friendly and seemed put off to help. The hotel is historic and cool, but rooms are small and for the price you would think other things would be more accommodating and nice. Prices were quite high for everything. The elevator system is awful and took so long that we used the stairs the whole stay. They were filming a show 2 of the 3 days we were there which shut down one of the avg sized pools (only have two) requiring all guests to cram into the other area. Filming also shut down the lobby and elevator area for an extensive time. I asked the front desk (two others beside me also asked) about why we’re not told about the filming and if there would be a discount. Front desk person just smirked and said that would not be happening. At the Society restaurant for dinner, my daughter who has an egg and nut allergy (we disclose to everyone) had to order a chicken soft taco with cheese. This was an off menu item they said they could do. It showed up with cubed chicken that was barely warm with a slice of Kraft cheese laying on it. It was disgusting. After voicing frustration, the manager who saw the same thing took off 10%. I don’t mind paying for things, especially for good service and nice amenities but this stay was well below expectations.
- 4/5
Pros: -beautiful property and private access beach -excellent restaurant and service at the Society Table -Great pool (the one we had access to; other was closed due to above) minus one point below -Fitness center and classes -Kid friendly -housekeeping top notch -Variety of stores-ice cream/candy store was a hit with my kids Cons -smallish rooms and bathrooms -lax rules regarding poolside eating/drinking (depends on your perspective) but swimming in a pool with spilt frozen drinks and greasy fingers from chicken tenders and fries isn’t exactly my idea of a refreshing pool -slow / limited elevators Would I recommend? Yes but make sure there’s no special events such as above going on.
- 3/5
The bathroom showed signs of wear and regardless of the time of day or night, the water pressure in the shower was barely enough to make it out of the shower head. The toilet was extremely close to the wall and would not allow sufficient clearance for a larger person to sit comfortably. The rooms air filter was completely clogged, well past a preventative maintenance change.
- 5/5
Espectacular and beautiful hotel! I hope to come back soon

Very clean and comfortable The booking was incorrect, I booked a oceanview when I got to my room it was scenery of roof and air conditioning The hotel wouldn’t change it

The resort is beautiful. This was our 5th stay through the last 8 years The food was terrible and overpriced. We had breakfast and lunch and both were bad and extremely expensive. This time we only stayed 2 nights and glad we did that because we were able to explore other hotels that had smaller facilities but the food was incredible.

We waited 45 minutes in line to check in due to a system shutdown. The toilet in our room cycled all night, keeping us up, and requiring a room change. The hotel then didn’t recognize our prepaid room and charged me again for the room nights, pulling the funds from my bank account and adding undue charges to my credit card. It was an unfortunate experience that will prevent me from wanting to stay there again, which is disappointing because I love the location and beauty of the building.

Loved our 4-night stay at the Don Cesar with my husband and 3 year old! The hotel & beach were clean, the staff was lovely, and the pink details were so fun. Nothing beats lounging on that beach under the pink striped umbrellas. The spa was luxurious & the live band at the Lobby Bar was fabulous. The bathroom was small, but that's to be expected of any historic hotel. It was still very nice. My only disappointment was the value at Maritana, the property's fine dining restaurant. The food was good, but $42 for two scallops on a bit of sweet potato puree was ridiculous. Overall, though, we were very pleased with our stay and felt like the Pink Palace became our beachfront "home away from home." We intend to come back regularly!
- 5/5
This was our third time at this property. They did a great job recovering from the hurricane and everything looks great. The staff at this property is amazing and the food is great.
- 2/5
I booked The Don CeSar to celebrate my husband’s birthday, but the experience was very disappointing. Our room had multiple issues, including a malfunctioning AC that left it uncomfortably cold and lack of consistent hot water. Late at night, an unknown individual knocked on our door offering towels we never requested, which felt unsettling and raised safety concerns. We also had a confirmed dinner reservation at Society Table that was mishandled. After waiting, we were told our reservation had been overlooked. Meanwhile, other parties — including those without reservations — were seated ahead of us. Bar service during this time was also unprofessional. Due to the combination of these issues, we chose to leave early. While the property itself is beautiful, the service and overall experience did not meet expectations, especially for a special occasion

In a luxury hotel, it’s the small details that elevate
- 5/5
The property was gorgeous and location cannot be beat.
- 4/5
This is an amazing hotel with a perfect beach location. Everyone was very helpful and welcoming. The only thing that makes the review a 4 star and not a 5 is the size of the bathroom in the room. The room was very spacious however the bathroom was so small it didn’t fit with the scale of the room and was a constant nuisance. I will go back and recommend anyone else to as well.
- 1/5
Overall - the hotel was insanely overpriced for the room and the cleanliness. It was just not at all good and I would never book again - just go somewhere else if you are going to relax.
- 4/5
Beautiful property rooms could use an update
- 4/5
Cons (not very many). Finding the main entrance on arrival is a challenge, especially if you are not familiar with the area. You have to turn a block before what the GPS says. It is on a side street. The shower pressure was low, but what a beautiful shower! The adjoining room door on our side kept slamming all hours of the day and night which we think was a wind tunnel effect between the two rooms. That was annoying, but tolerable. On our last night at about 1:30 in the morning, there was a fire alarm that went off and we had to evacuate. A few minutes later, the hotel maître D came out and announced that it was a false alarm and everything was OK-back to bed. About 10 minutes later, the alarm went off again, and then again! We assumed it was a false alarm at that point. An overhead announcement saying that it was not a true alarm would have been nice. We also got to witness someone being taken out in handcuffs. A surprise as it is much more upscale than that! Apparently someone got a little too drunk and may have been roughing up his wife. Pros: We had a king suite that overlooked the courtyard and the pool and the ocean! Exceptional staff and on check in offered us a complimentary glass of bubbly! We didn’t try the more upscale restaurant but sampled their piña coladas (several!) and best I’ve ever had! The more casual restaurant and pool bar were great. Had a wonderful time despite the weather being rainy, cool and windy 2 of our days. Would love to go back!!

Nice room overlooking the parking lot. Outside , the view is as always spectacular. 30 degrees outside very cold one night no heat but maintenance came and fixed it immediately. Shower low pressure. Room very clean internet was good, had good food and drinks, no cash accepted anywhere but staff was friendly and helpful wherever we were in the property. Loved every minute.
- 5/5
The rooms are a tad small, but the bldg is old, so there is that consideration --- but overall, we LOVED our time spent here and if I was to go back to St. Pete I would stay here in a second.

- 4/5
Generally we lined the hotel. Room was nice, staff were terrific. The only issues were the room not entirely clean as toys were left behind in the floor and our second night there was a lot of noise from all the people partying - hard to sleep for an early flight.
- 4/5
Lovely hotel but a cold front came through this weekend and the hotel was having issues with the heating. Eating breakfast was about trying to find a warm spot. Luckily the coffee was great!
- 2/5
Gorgeous First room AC was broken and they made us sit there for 20 minutes and watch the maintenance man try to fix it. He didn’t. Moved rooms. Next room had blood stains on a bed pillow and blood stains on the bed frame.
- 3/5
The hotel is just OK. It's pretty on the outside. It's very old. Neither the heating nor the cooling worked right even though they came up and "fixed" it. The clock was broken when we got there - no big deal, but, they were supposed to replace it and never did the whole time we were there. The bed was very comfortable though. Everything is extremely expensive.
- 4/5
Staff was exceptional, but rooms are very dated.
- 5/5
The staff are so professional and nice. The response time to any requests was prompt.
- 4/5
The temperature control in our room was sub optimal. Maybe it was the humidity? Cool and clammy

Staff was super friendly. Rooms nice
- 5/5
Very old and lovely hotel, but we were made to feel welcome by all of the staff! The sparkling wine at check-in was an elegant touch!
- 4/5
It’s a very beautiful property and if I had to nitpick on absolutely one small detail, for a luxury style resort, the fact that the ironing board in our room looked like it came from a questionable motel….again a very small detail that didn’t take away from our stay. But for a luxury environment it is often about those little details.
- 5/5
Amazing and historic hotel. Love it!
- 5/5
Great stay at the Don Cesar! Would recommend and will come back
- 4/5
Beautiful art Deco design throughout. Great pools and location. Parking is convenient but overpriced. Food is not excellent at on site restaurants and amenities in the room including pillows, coffee, etc. could be better quality. Staff could focus more on the guests.
- 5/5

- 5/5

- 5/5
Gold star for sure!
- 3/5
The pool area was actually much nicer than before, which was a highlight, but there’s still no hot tub is disappointing but the pool is heated. For a property like this, that feels like a missed opportunity. The food was unfortunately subpar, which is sad considering the hotel’s stunning grounds, rich history, and overall potential. My biggest frustration was being told that a 1:00 PM checkout would cost $100 per hour on a Monday afternoon when the hotel didn’t seem busy. I’m used to Marriott and Hilton brands being far more accommodating in situations like that. This is one of the most expensive hotels in the area, yet it really doesn’t feel like it when you’re there. It’s a beautiful property with so much charm and history. I truly want to love it. It could be amazing.
- 5/5
The staff at Maritana was very good but the food at Maritana restaurant was very bad. Everything that we order was over price and bad quality. The wine served per glass is not in temperature. They call it "Room temperature" Well, red wine is NOT served at Florida room temperature. If they call themselves, FINE DINING, they should know better than that. The Don Cesar is not in Italy to be serving red wine at room temperature. Maritana Restaurant is very far from being an "award-winning fine dining". I do not recommend Maritana Restaurant and I will not visit Maritana again.

We stayed here for 5 nights with our 5 month old baby for a little R&R away from the northeast. We are so happy we chose The Don. It is an interesting and beautiful historic property right on a gorgeous beach with pools and several nice spots to eat and drink on site. The place is well managed and we felt very well take care of. From day 1, what made our experience were the wonderful people who work throughout the resort. Special shoutouts to Diana, the server at The Rowe Bar who gave us helpful tips on things to check out in the area, Jackie who kept the drinks and good vibes coming at the pool, and Yven and Jeckson from the coffee and gelato bar. The housekeeping staff were all super friendly and took great care of the room everyday. Dennis and the valet and bell teams got us in and out efficiently whenever we stepped out. We were able to get into St Pete to visit the Pier area a few nights and it was a very short drive. The list of excellent people working here goes on and on. We would definitely recommend The Don and would love to come back.

Everything was spectacular, beach , pool, all amenities, we had a great experience

Loved the boutique style resort with all the amenities and wonderful beach. Small bathroom, but we chose a low cost room.
- 5/5
Amazing Hotel and Staff! Def a must
- 5/5
Spotless room, friendly staff, and beautiful beach access with plenty of room.

Fabulous experience

Great for families! We loved this place. Highly recommend.
- 4/5
Not too crazy about the room , but everything Else was really good
- 4/5
The vibe was good overall festive and well appointed. Love the history of this pink palace. Location is perfect. They have everything you need without having to leave but at a price! Room was clean, beds comfortable ,bathroom was closet size. Food was a hit or miss at Society Table. We never made it to Martina. Staff were courteous and friendly.
- 5/5
Food was excellent Entertainment in main bar was enjoyable A real Xmas tree is main bar was a classic touch of excellence Room view of the gulf of America was breathtaking
- 5/5
We had a wonderful & relaxing trip. I love all the amenities, the hot tub, and the beach cabanas. The rooms are very clean & comfortable. All of the staff was friendly.
- 5/5
It was an excellent experience and you feel seamlessly like royalty. It’s a relaxing experience, the place takes you away and you feel like you’re back in the Great Gatsby error on some was, except pink and on the beach!
- 3/5
The room was not in good condition for the price. Dirty sheets, hole in a pillow case, very dusty vents that I had to clean myself, electrical outlets that didn't work, and a few other things.
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel with great staff and a wonderful iconic building. Always wanted to stay here and it did not disappoint.
- 4/5
We would highly recommend this hotel
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful and the restaurant had amazing food. I will be back!
- 3/5
Stained sheets, construction noise
- 5/5
Amazing staff and beautiful gulf beach will bring us back time and again !
- 4/5
Staff was excellent, clean room
- 5/5
I loved everything about the Don.
- 2/5
The beach has soft sand and the loungers are comfortable but with restricted view of the water due to cabanas being placed in the front row. That being said... The food is too expensive ($22-24 for a two egg omelet, $20 for a cocktail, $8 for a toasted bagel with butter) and not filling. The rooms are small (hard for an adult to fit between the bed and the wall), the beds, although comfortable, had cheap bedding and awful pillows. The bathroom barely fits an adult, the shower hardware was coming off the wall and the water pressure lacked. And the shampoo, I choose to believe they accidentally loaded the bottle with hand soap - otherwise it's the worst shampoo we've ever used. The AC was the most horrendous part of our experience: noisy and not responsive to the thermostat setup. After changing the room once with no better result in the other we had to ask maintenance to pull the plug from the main control in the ceiling to allow us to have a quiet night. And that came with its own set of issues - heavy, stale, humid air (windows are nailed shut). The pool was clean and warm but there was no maintenance of the loungers or the deck. I had to wipe them off sand or water before each use. They have an indoor hot tub in a small room, not fit for purpose so we walked to their other property, 10 minutes away, to enjoy their outdoor one. All in all I wish we went elsewhere for our 8 night vacation.

The room was spotless, the staff went above and beyond and everyone was friendly and helpful. We were there Thanksgiving week and the Christmas tree and all the decorations were Amazing!!! The shops had something for everyone and the gelato omg!!!! My favorite was the guava and strawberry. The Society food was delicious. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thank you for a great Thanksgiving week!
- 5/5
Excellent stay. The beach access is top notch. The restaurant service could use some work. Other than that amazing time! Will definitely be going back.
- 5/5
Loves this place!
- 5/5
Remember they are in Hurricane Recovery. So not great stuff first: 3rd Fl Room is dated, dusty bed frame, fridge didn't work, but all good outlets there. No dresser for 2nd person, toilet lid would not stay up. Pink cards wouldn't work. Pool staff oblivious. TG for Hospitality Dir Quinn! Excellent service w/o judgement. Valet req but quick. The prices will seem high but the pools, cocktails, food, and beach are excellent. The gift shop had a salesperson who had been there for 30+. She made our day. Leave it to the gal from Queens, our Brazillian barista, and NJ girl waitstaff. Bless you all. Pink Palace, we will stay again!
- 3/5
There was a nest of ants inside our coffee machine. They replaced the coffee maker but left the ant infested coffee maker in our room causing our clothes and luggage to have ants all over and inside.
- 5/5
I rarely am blown away by a property, this is absolutely the case with The Don. From service to the rooms, it's perfect every time.
- 5/5
Such a beautiful piece of history adjacent to some of the softest sand I have ever experienced
- 5/5
Staff was enjoyable and courteous. However front desk gave us several different answers to the same question, causing a few hours of drama we don't need or appreciate. The rooms are small but stylish and comfortable. Very loud air conditioning. Also very big weddings and corporate groups hosting here at night. Lobby can be very loud. Inconsistent housekeeping, no service provided on our last full day. But otherwise they came 1 -2 x day. Expedited elevator buttons , so you're not waiting for and elevator, really good idea. Restaurant by pool was average ,Peter our server for breakfast was excellent and friendly. The pool only has one bathroom stall for hundreds of customers, the line was very long at times. Directly on a flat clean beach with chair and umbrellas included in the room rate. Overall upscale, but pricey when you add up all the fees for parking, resort, automatic gratuities and overpriced drinks and restaurants $32.00 + tip for 2 small coffee and 2 Danish. We had a lovely time, but didnt feel this place was worth the cost.

The hotel lies that Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe stayed here for their honeymoon. They stayed in the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo for their honeymoon.

A wonderful old school resort. The hotel more than lived up to my expectations and it’s historic image.

Smallest hotel room ever. And tiny claustrophobic bathroom. Sparse toiletries.

Everything was great
- 5/5
THE GOOD: Everything. The beach and the pools were wonderful. Weather and sunsets were beautiful. The drinks at the bars and the food at the restaurants and also around the pool were great! The entertainment in the main bar was great. The cost per night was very reasonable. The employees were all very friendly. The rooms weren't huge but matched our expectation. The cleanliness and room service were perfect. THE BAD: The resort fees & taxes added about $50 per night to the cost but that is normal for St. Pete Beach. The air conditioner was really loud. The shower and restroom was a little bit tight in size. There was a national sales convention there and they blocked off one of the pools for their use only on two days. OVERALL: St. Pete Beach was devastated by the hurricanes of 2024 and the area is not back to its normal tourist destination feel as many hotels are still not re-opened. But that is a good thing as there were no crowds anywhere. And it is evident that the Don CeSar staff is trying their best to bring their hotel back to being the place to stay in St. Pete. We absolutely will be back!
- 5/5
Everyone working there was so kind & helpful! Also the "text" concierge was great!! Perfect stay for my daughter's birthday!
- 5/5
This hotel is quite simply stunning. Quite possibly one of the best I’ve ever stayed in.
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel
- 5/5
The couples retreat massage was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. The Don is something you have to experience. Also, they have the best sparkling rose’ I’ve ever imbibed.
- 5/5
We love the stay in the hotel.!

STAFF
- 5/5
Front seat clerk was very friendly and sufficient. His name is Ron. Great job !!!
- 4/5
Only one restaurant was open for dinner and the wait time was about two hours after we ordered.
- 5/5
Clean, pretty and pink! Great breakfast!
- 5/5
Awesome beach, friendly staff and comfy bed
- 5/5
Wonderful beachfront property. Exemplary service.
- 5/5
This is an excellent property on the beach and very convenient to downtown st. pete
- 5/5
We had an amazing experience at Don Cesar. It was our first time staying at this resort and we were incredibly impressed. The guest service was amazing, our room was beautiful, the pool area was spacious and clean, and the beach was pristine. We loved that the chairs and umbrellas were included. We felt welcomed like cherished family and treated so wonderfully throughout our entire stay. We will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Beautiful, historic hotel on a perfect beach. The service was amazing and the rooms were very comfortable.
- 5/5
Everyone was beyond friendly and staff was awesome. Will definitely return.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel and amazing staff you won’t be disappointed
- 5/5
This was an amazing hotel. We had a great time.!!
- 5/5
Amazing just wished VIP would get more perks
- 5/5
Great location in the beach
- 5/5
Loved its old school charm Hated the ridiculous elevator system.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 3/5
Good experience but not amazing. The valet and bellhop don’t communicate with front desk so our luggage was never sent to our rooms. Beach service was subpar - no one going around to take drink orders and the beach area seemed disorganized. Also, the food by the pool was pretty cheap.
- 5/5
Clean, beautiful grounds
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, excellent staff very accommodating.
- 5/5
Luxury resort feel, great shopping options and dining including sit down restaurants and a cute coffee/gelato shop. Love the pool and pool bar too.
- 5/5
Great spot they need to get the restaurant open & fix the 3 star reviews. But overall always a nice experience. Lots of restaurants around the hotel.
- 3/5
The best part about it is the staff. Polite, happy and welcoming. The hotel is old and tired. A lot of construction. The rooms are small and old. The prices are not justifiable in the condition of the property.
- 5/5
Hotel Don CeSar is an exquisite beachfront paradise! The stunning architecture and elegant decor create a charming atmosphere. The staff is attentive and friendly, ensuring a wonderful stay. With beautiful rooms, a fantastic pool, and direct beach access, it's the perfect getaway for relaxation. Highly recommended for anyone looking for luxury and comfort!
- 5/5
The property
- 4/5
On this trip, our shower had no hot water, but one call to the front desk and maintenance was on it. By the time we returned to our room after dinner, it was fixed. Great staff, good amenities, the Don Cesar is definitely a special place and I highly recommend the entire experience.
- 5/5
The rooms and the sixth floor need some carpet, cleaning and furniture cleaning. Also, we kept getting bit at night. I don’t know if it was spiders.
- 5/5
Hotel was amazing as I’ve always heard! Staff was exceptionally nice!
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel!
- 4/5
Outdoor bar closes earlier than other hotel outdoor bars. Would have been nice to have some entertainment in the evenings. Overall its a beautiful hotel.staff was genuinely pleasant.

- 5/5
I visited this hotel a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it, so I decided to come back with my kids. Although the weather wasn’t ideal for the beach due to the rain, we still had a great time enjoying the pool and discovering some great local restaurants. Looking forward to coming back again with the kids soon!
- 1/5
Upon check-in, the reception staff was not warm and inviting and informed me that they could not see my VIP Gold membership in their system and therefore could not extend any benefits. I contacted Expedia multiple times in an attempt to resolve this matter, but despite my efforts, no benefits were provided throughout my stay. It is deeply disappointing that a hotel categorized as a VIP Access property would fail to recognize and deliver the benefits that are clearly advertised. This undermines the credibility of Expedia’s VIP program and left me questioning the value of booking through Expedia. The staff at the front desk, especially Isabella needs extra training given the calibre of this hotel!
- 5/5
The pool bar service , and beach staff were amazing.
- 5/5
Wonderful location
- 3/5
Room had issues with air conditioner and after second day they wanted to move me to another room but for us was too much picking and moving so they solved only by offering $200 credit witch I think wasn’t enough for the inconvenience
- 3/5
Extremely limited and overpriced restaurant/bar menu options; stayed in two rooms within 6 days. Beds were uncomfortable in addition to the noisy, loud, and ineffective air conditioning units in both rooms.
- 3/5
We always stay at the Don every year on our honeymoon. This year we went in right after they had just refurbished the building after the hurricane that closed them for 6 months. While we were happy to see them open and see the familiar faces, their prices have doubled across the board, probably to make up for lost revenue. Everything from food to drinks to morning coffee was exorbitantly ridiculous. We will definitely be considering this when we plan next years vacation.
- 3/5
My only complaint is that they contract out their beach chairs, and the service is shady. They set up their massive cabanas in the front row, and all other beach chairs have to be placed behind the cabanas. They set them up well before 9am, even though the cabana rental period doesn’t begin until 9. If you would like to lay in a chair with a view of the ocean, you must spend $300 to rent a cabana for the day, which doesn’t even include any complimentary snacks or beverages like sodas or juice. It’s just for the view. Despicable. I went down early one morning with a muffin and iced coffee, basically the only person on the beach at 7:45am, I moved my chair slightly over to be able to sip my coffee and watch the waves, and a beach chair employee came over and told me that I can’t move the chairs, they must all be behind the cabana, but that it was too early for me to rent and sit in a cabana. The spa is lovely here, but after spending money at the spa, and all the additional money on food and beverages, I’m not sure I have the patience to be bullied about beach chairs. Just not the 5 star service I would expect from a resort like this one. If you would like a beach front property for the actual beach views, stay somewhere else.
- 5/5
I liked the property and the beds were comfy tip they have valet parking that i think is mandatory
- 5/5
Pool issues not cool water too many kids
- 3/5
All of this said, the Don CeSar was nailed by Hurricane Helene and shutdown for 6 months. In fairness, many of the above details may have been missed bc they’ve had such bigger issues to address in order to get The Don back up and running operationally.
- 5/5
simply awesome
- 5/5
Dining was terrible. Service and food.
- 5/5
Quiet beach and beautiful beach. Gorgeous sunset views!
- 5/5
It was everything we had hoped it would be.
- 5/5
Most enjoyable
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay
- 5/5
A very elegant and well maintained old hotel. Beach view was excellent, and it was great to have dedicated beach chairs and an umbrella available for our use. Still recovering from the hurricane, and their signature restaurant is still not open. Valet parking and the local shuttle service were both very helpful. Only minor complaint is that the bathroom is very small - needed to move the shower door to use the toilet.
- 5/5
The staff was great and the amenities were great. We took advantage of kayaking and paddle board.
- 4/5
Overall day was very good. The staff was very friendly and a special thank you to the lead concierge Julie Basquez for going out of this way to make our stay special for us. They are still recovering from the hurricane last year, so some of the things weren’t available and there is construction work going on around. But overall, it was worth this day.
- 5/5
Really nice hotel, staff was friendly bed and pillow were very considerate
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful with top notch service experience. Pool staffing needs to be increased so wait times for drinks is not 20 min on average.
- 5/5
Highly recommend!
- 5/5
The Hotel is a classic gem on the coast of Florida. Two great pools. Beach with umbrellas are close and clean. Pool service excellent with drinks and food. Only draw back was bathroom was tight fit. But reconditioning is still underway from hurricane last year.
- 3/5
Very small rooms
- 5/5
It was Great
- 5/5
This property was very clean and nice. They were still doing construction due to the hurricane but other than that it was great. Very pricy on food and drink, but pools and beaches were amazing! Would go back!

- 5/5
Fabulous stay at The Don CeSar! We were able to check-in as soon as we arrived after our flight and take our things to our room, enjoy the beach, pool, and property. Staff was friendly and helpful. The experience was top-tier.
- 5/5
At check-in, Nick at the front desk was incredibly helpful and kind, setting the tone for a great stay. And a big thank you to Julian for his exceptional hospitality—he went above and beyond by filling my bottle with ice when I was in a rush. It’s those thoughtful little moments that really made a difference. Housekeeping kept our room spotless, and the entire staff at the pool and bar were fantastic—from the bartenders to the team who helped us find seats and even laid out our towels. They truly went above and beyond to make us feel cared for. The Don CeSar had everything we needed and more. We felt completely taken care of from start to finish. Truly an amazing team and hotel—we’ll definitely be back!
- 5/5
Everything was top notch!
- 5/5
We will be back in the future to celebrate more big events in our lives. Thanks for making my birthday so special!
- 5/5
This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Enjoyed every minute of my stay. Can’t wait to return.
- 5/5
It was amazing. Great decor, amenities, spa, and restaurant.
- 5/5
Eventhough, there was an area that was still remodeling because of Milton Huricane the rest of the accesible areas were awsome.
- 2/5
Front desk was very bad
- 3/5
This was our second time staying at The Don, and this time around was not the greatest!
- 2/5
was open. No seats were available and every guest crammed into this small area. I was awoken to loud hammering being done on the property at 8:00am in the morning. Restaurant menu very limited with burnt bacon served to us. I put in a call to the hotel manager over these things I really felt needed addressing and he doesn’t answer the phone, or return calls. Unfortunately my money is spent better on a luxury property that has all features that are advertised.
- 4/5
The hotel and surrounding area are still recovering from hurricane damage, and it shows in places. While many common areas look refreshed, the rooms and hallways feel noticeably dated and in need of real attention. That said, everything was clean, and the bathrooms appeared updated. We stayed in a standard double. It wasn’t cheap, likely due to the holiday weekend. The main restaurant didn’t seem fully operational, though breakfast was available buffet-style in a common area. Limited bar food was served at the indoor and outdoor bars—pricey but good. Service was a strong point. Beach and bar staff were excellent, and most employees were attentive and professional, though a few at the front desk and breakfast area seemed inexperienced or distracted. Live music each day was a great touch, and all three performers were solid. For a 4th of July weekend, though, the experience lacked any real holiday spirit. With decent weather by evening on the 4th and full sun on the 5th and 6th, it was disappointing that there wasn’t a BBQ or celebratory event—just the standard menu and music. Overall, a clean and serviceable spot with good vibes, but the dated rooms and lackluster holiday programming left something to be desired.
- 4/5
Great hotel with great food options. Will definitely be back once renovations are done.
- 3/5
We did not like sharing DOGSs at an upscale hotel. This means dogs have been on beds, defecated on carpeting and are an overall annoyance to people who don't like pets and are allergic to animal dander. At this price point, we would never stay at the Don Cesar ever again. It certainly lost its unique appeal and luster. A sad day for the Pink Lady of yesteryear.
- 5/5
Great stay !
- 4/5
Still under construction and can hear it from inside the room… would postpone stay until complete or would request room far from construction. Otherwise it was a beautiful hotel with a great lobby bar, great private and quiet beach, great pools, relaxing spa, and very nice employees. Regular room bathroom is very small so wouldn’t stay in that type of room again either as the toilet is up against the shower and there’s zero counter space.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel. Perfect location
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Don Cesar was amazing as always. Can’t wait for the shops and pool restaurant to reopen. Jackie at the pool was amazing as always. We have been vacationed at the Don Cesar for 15 yrs. Never disappoints!
- 5/5
Our stay at The Don CeSar was absolutely wonderful! We loved every moment and are already looking forward to our next visit. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our experience even better. Our room was impeccably clean, the bed was so comfortable, and even with a courtyard view, we still had glimpses of the beautiful beach. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Great location and service. Best beaches in US. The food and beverage was good.
- 5/5
Very clean- attentive staff
- 5/5
The hotel was great. Family friendly. Definitely a great environment. Will do it again.
- 5/5
Excellent staff response and interaction.
- 5/5
*While you could hear construction at times. The hotel did a great job ensuring there was (live) music playing to help drown the noise and we overall didn’t find the construction noise that bothersome. I’m happy the are investing to rebuild and expand! We did not miss the shops that were closed when we went - everything we wanted was open.
- 5/5
The place is excellent, staff so great, lot of amenities beautiful beach
- 5/5
Zero complaints from start to finish. Service is excellent, food and drink are great. Pool bar, pool, beach, lobby bar were all excellent. Had impeccable, friendly service from Cosmin, Humberto, Pat, Rodney, Marissa, Nicole, Ezra, Penny, Peter, Johnathan, and anyone else I’ve missed. We will definitely be back.
- 5/5
We stayed here for our 20 yr anniversary and enjoyed it so much that we booked another visit—this time with our three kids. We really enjoyed all the wonderful amenities.
- 5/5
Very cool hotel, awesome pools and beach area, food and drinks were very good and every employee was super nice and helpful!
