Hotel was extremely clean, staff was very helpful. Breakfast was not what I was expecting but still offered items, Had a club and bar below the hotel.

This is an enjoyable and positive place. Is very fun with that pool club.

Staff was great. Advertisements said adult hotel. Neighbors acted like children drunk at 3 AM. It’s a party hotel if you’re up for a lively energy and a great vibe m, if you’re looking to chill and relax, I would find other accommodations.

The breakfast was bagels kept in a big container on a cart. No real breakfast. Had to find the front desk person each time ….no ice machine….would never stay here again, and wouldn’t recommend to any one

The pool/outside bar (The Wet Spot) and inside bar and club (Cocktails) are very nice and fun. The made to order food is good and the free continental breakfast covers the basics. The outside and inside music is always good and the drag shows are great. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Very clean room, staff goes above and beyond for your comfort. Nice pool with good bartenders. The bar staff was friendly, music was fun and can be heard everywhere if that is not your scene this gem isn't for you and you should stay outside entertainment district for me it was what i was looking for. Location is perfectly for LGBTQ community and our allies close to many restaurants, shops and scenery. Free trolly for further locations on Centrsl Ave. This is my fourth time and happily satisfied and coming back again.

Enjoyed the stay.

The property is in a great location and affordable. The only thing that took away from the stay was that it was a Saturday night stay and the music in the bars in the building was blasting until 3am. I love music and the hotel shared this with me when I checked in, and they even give you ear plugs which I highly recommend. Nice spot!

Honestly one of the best places I’ve stayed! The housekeeping was above and beyond of what we expected, the absolute friendliness of the staff, and the great people and vibes are something to look forward to again!

Thank God for the wonderful breakfast! It’s so hard to leave the cozy room with the comfy bed.

It is a very fun hotel for people who like to party and eat good food. It's not a place you go for peace and quiet, you are in the center of everything night life wise. I would definitely stay at the hotel again.

Clean, affordable and in a great area. They’re upfront with the noise from the bars/club. But if you’re a night owl like me or plan to stay up late enjoying the bars downstairs you’ll never notice it. They went dead quite right before 3am. In fact it alerted me one night it was now 3am and I should probably go to bed. I don’t know when I’ll ever be in St. Pete again but would definitely stay here again.

We had the absolutely best time here. We were not aware of the bars/clubs before we booked and it turned out to be the best, we didn’t have to drive anywhere while drinking. Got to enjoy the Sunday Brunch. The bedroom was always cleaned and new towels every morning. We’ll definitely come back.

The rooms are a bit small and with no microwave or refrigerator its hard to stay longer than a day or 2. Otherwise this place is amazing

My wife and I enjoyed our two night stay and felt very comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable, food and drinks were great. Pool area and Cocktail bar was fun. We stayed in the “quiet “section. Look forward to our next trip.

The place was different. Rooms were very clean and the staff was wonderful. Nice little continential breakfast. Not alot to do for us, we were there for a baseball game. But all in all was a good stay.

We stayed here because it was close to the venue of an event we were attending. We had a great time! Everything was clean and well maintained, and the bed and sheets were comfortable. The staff was super friendly, kind and helpful! We did not get to check out the pool or bar areas, but hopefully next time!

Well, this is not the place for a quiet getaway, but it’s delightful, clean, fun, and the staff goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. I was truly blown away by the professionalism and efficiency of the front desk staff. They do a great job preparing you for the nightclub hotel hybrid model, and even though I was staying in one of the rooms above the bar, I didn’t have any trouble sleeping or relaxing at night.

Worst restroom ever

I didn't like the fact that it is a homosexual based Hotel. The word pride posted everywhere which was not a big problem. The word cock plastered all over the hotel was a problem. The fact that they would not refund my money for the days that I did not stay was also a problem. Nowhere on booking did it state that this was a homosexual Hotel that had pictures of penises everywhere even in the rooms. Overall, I was completely disappointed. So if you are not gay, or into homosexual activity my advice to you would be never to visit this hotel.

Everyone there was amazing.

The hotel was good and very clean. The manager made an effort to give us the best room possible—one that was less noisy due to the nightclubs downstairs—and overall, our stay was pleasant. The only thing I didn’t like was that the bathroom needed some maintenance, as the floor would get quite flooded. However, that was minor compared to everything else, which was very good.

No parking pay extra for a dirt lot and the hotel was not easily accessible and the extra small shower stall flooded all over the bathroom it also took an extremely long time for the security hold on my card to be released over 7 days

Very old establishment for sure. Shower and bathroom was size of a porta potty or smaller so huge turn off - Air wouldn’t get below 72- we moved it Dow multiple times and it just wouldn’t so that sucked for sure . Nice staff just wildly outdated facility… Towels stiff as hell- like they did in the sun versus being actually washed.

Loved everything about the staff and hotel. The only thing that could of been better was the water pressure in the shower and the sink, but other than my stay was perfect !

All staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Loved the decor and room was clean and had everything we needed. Did not receive the e-mail about parking until two days before check out. Was not an issue as a spot was available. Just more of a FYI. Would have been stressful if the limited spots were full.

Stayed On the quiet side of the building & could still hear the nightclub & bass until it closed. Then heard the dumpster slam with cleanup. Terrible nights sleep. Parking was not available for our stay as lot is small & was all sold out. Not my favorite hotel. Would not stay here again. Just wasn’t for us.

This is most likely my 12th or so stay and they always seem to win big in all areas. The convenience of being able to drink and not drive is awesome. They are walkable to so many eateries in the area. If you don't feel like walking than eating from their broad menu of delectable selections is worth it. Gotta try that candied bacon....because everyone loves bacon.

Room decor: black and bright green, no chair in room to sit, very small but usable sink. Extremely loud music on weekend from the lounge till 3am. The website did warn about the sound but you wouldn't know how loud it is until you experience it.

Other than these issues the staff were great and the location is prime. Don't expect much from the complementary breakfast.

The location is great and convenient to downtown and restaurants. The rooms are very comfortable, the beds are incredible. The staff is extremely friendly and eager to please. Parking is very convenient whether you pay to park in the hotel lot or find parking on the streets. The sink in the room is very, very small with little space for bathroom supplies. The only other major issue is the loud music. The hotel is well known for it's vibrant bar and beautiful pool area, which attracts many locals as well as hotel guests. But the very loud music and heavy bass goes well into the early hours of the morning and can be heard in most rooms.

The nightclub is very loud, even at 1am in the morning. There is disclaimer when you book about the nightclub, so we were aware of it, but it's obnoxiously loud. Also be aware of the atmosphere of the hotel and the alternative lifestyle that is endorsed might be off putting to some people. We were not offended in anyway at all but to people who live in a box with blinders on might be a bit turned off by the late-night activities at the nightclub

Check in was great. The team was very communicative and kept making sure we were good. The first night was rough because we were in a room right above the club, even though we paid for the quieter one. I complained a little and the entire team jumped in the make it right. My new room was much quieter, but had no water pressure and cold only. The AC was also better, but really loud. Still, the staff was very apologetic and explained what was going on. That’s always nice. Like the hotel and would definitely come back. Will just need to make sure and confirm my room ahead of arrival. 5⭐️ to the staff!

The 4-star rating only because the water it was an issue all weekend. I believe they said the hotel was 100 years old (beautiful by the way), the pipes are old. The hotel I believe again was at capacity therefore the water trickled out at times, so when we showered it was in and out of water pressure. The temp of the water was also an issue.

Bad service

The room was run down. The bedroom furniture quite homemade. The platform bed was made with plywood painted black. Gaps in the shower drain. The pillows were the terrible pillows as all hotels use. The kind what flatten as soon as a head lay down on them. The sheets and bedding they boast about being luxurious were scratchy and smelled overtly of bleach. The water pressure was terrible and I only had a hot shower one of the 4 days of my stay. The body wash and shampooed smelled great. I ordered a premium room because they suggested to the club music would be loud if not. My room was an inner room on the 2nd floor. The music was extremely loud but more annoying was hearing staff getting ice all night long. It was like they were chopping at or having to break up the ice. The staff who obviously didn't know people were able to hear them were certainly having a great time. I loved thei retail vending machine, but don’t expect to find are a coke/pepsi or snack machine. The lack of those amenities cert tell a story about not catering to their guests needs. Entertainment during drag bingo also disappointed. The Host could barely be understood. When the hotel asked for a rating directly they responded that there was a Hilton just down the street. 😯

With 3 bars on site, not one had sweet vermouth available to make drink, a standard in any bar. Disappointing also that I again paid extra for “quiet” room which was not quiet, could still hear thumping music from bars.

Watch your step is an understatement just trying to get to the bathroom. Do not attempt in the dark. Shower was fresh out of a gym locker. Do not go if you plan on enjoying yourself.

Very comfortable place to stay in a great part of St. Pete. Came for a country festival, didn’t realize I booked a place so colorful. But was treated with the utmost respect, and truly enjoyed my stay.

It was 'our bad' that we did not read the fine print before booking. We chose it based on 4.9 wonderful rating and location close to museums and pier. As an older straight married couple, this hotel was very noisy, base pounding until 2:45 AM. The staff was excellent, friendly and accommodating. Lesson learned. If you are younger, gay and like to party, you will love it.

I did not like the decor and it was not all that clean, especially the bathroom

This is a Motel, not a hotel. Upon entering the room, found dirty underwear on the floor. There is no fridge, no dresser, no chairs, nowhere to sit, only a mattress on on a piece of plywood. When I jumped in the shower, their white shower curtain was stained with what can easily be poop or mold, neither one did I want to think about. Half sink that didn't even fit in the bathroom is in the room 10 inches making it a challenge to brush your teeth or wash your face. The TV was frustrating as it would reset and return to another channel or simply not return at all. As an insult, for all this the general manager offered a 25% off to a future visit. There are too many better and cost effective options in the area. The disappointment was too great to return there.

Most important the bed and linens were clean. The carpet in our room appeared on the newer side so that was clean as well. The sink in the room was tiny with no counter space. Overall the room was clean and well priced. But don't expect much more then that. Continental breakfast was very simple and hopefully your early enough to get the few yogurts they put out. Also there is room for only one person at the breakfast counter and no room to prepare you coffee. The staff was friendly but appeared a little stressed and uptight. We arrived at the hotel 1-2 hours earlier. We asked if we could check into our room and they said yes but it would be an extra $50 early check in fee. So we waited the extra hour and a half before checking in exactly at 3:pm. Be aware that those 2 bottles of water in the room are not complementary like most hotels so bring your own bottle water. Overall if your on a budget and into the partying and late night scene this is a perfect place to stay. If your looking for something more on the quiet side with nicer amenities this may not be the place for you.

It was nosy due to night club is under the hotel and I was on second floor so I complaint and they were so professional and moved me to third floor where it's quiet and peaceful!

Pulled into parking lot to check in and was told my car would be towed immediately. I said I just got here so need to check in and bring permit back out. She said your car will be gone. Wow. Really? Hotel manager happened to check in with me via text to confirm my arrival. Thank goodness! I was more than a little upset about the check in and parking process. However he came out with the permit and helped me out with that crazy piece of the stay. The rest of the stay was great. So an A for the hotel and staff. F for stupid parking situation. I would recommend just don’t leave your car alone! LOL.

What is there to say. I have stayed here before and my experience has been nothing but exceptional. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. The only downfall is you can not get into the place unless its closer to noon and those that arrive early is not able to leave their bags until check in.

Unfortunately, I made the wrong reservation. It wasn't a pleasant place for me.

The water in the shower was cold, and only trickled out every evening. We could not shower for dinner or to go out. This was unacceptable as we had dinner plans every night. There was armed security surrounding the pool and bar area on the weekend. I’m sure it was warranted however, this was not the type of environment we expected. The elevator would be down inoperable often. We were on the third floor. An employee knocked on our door at 11:30pm one evening to check our room to see how many occupants we had. We only had the specified amount of adults (2) myself and roommate, both on the registration. I have never experienced this type of situation and there were no complaints against us. They were knocking on every room on the third floor. This was extremely offensive and alarming. I understand a large Pride event was occurring however, this does not warrant intrusion into our paid for room, that was without provocation. I am trying to reach the owner. The manager told me he was aware of our complaint. He says he will contact me by Thursday 7/3/25. I wanted to have my complaint documented. We complained each night to no avail.

Personal attention

Had I had known the rules regarding bicycles I would have selected a different hotel. I have driven across the country many times and this was the first time my bike was not allowed in the hotel room or security area and a first being stolen. For those that enjoy biking it may be a good idea to indicate no, children, pets or bicycles.

Great stay

As always my stay went rather flawlessly. check in was practically done before I got to the desk. The crew carried my bags to my room. room was clean, even to the black carpeting, which can be hard to vacuum clean.

As usual I was late (after 9pm). Bartender at cocktail got me manager who took care of me, no problem. Room was perfect. It had been a long day. Took a long hot shower and then to bed. The noise that people are complaining about I have found is coming thru the windows. Not up thru the floor. As an old club kid, It wasn't bad enough to disturb my sleep (or anything else I was doing in bed) if I had a complaint. It would have to be a working second floor ice machine, or lack therof.

I didn't arrive till well after 9 but still checking was flawless. Got to my room and headed right (never str8) to the shower. I was presently surprrised when I discovered hot water that was almost to hot especially 20 minutes later and it was still hot. Not to wild about the step up bathroom though.

As always, my stay was as expected, "mahvelous dolling". Even if the drag queens do get a little rambunctious on the second floor Friday and Saturday night.

As always, my stay at the MariJean was as close to perfection as one will ever find among hotels. By far superior to those "other places" on 34th Street. Add to that the crystal clear pool, the "fabulous" bars, restaurants and live entertainment nightly. You can't go wrong. The MariJean is my go to St Petersburg gay stay.

Hotels.com didn't mention it was a gay hotel, not a homophobic, so that didn't matter. They had a nightclub on 1st floor, had to pay an extra $60 to move to 3rd floor. Not happy about that at all. Service was excellent. Location was convenient.

Not my style, but comfortable bed

Staffs are amazing, friendly, and helpful. All directions are clear and easy to follow. Comfy big bed and comes with basic amenities including hair dryer. The pool is nice too! We stayed above the club, but it was not bad at all! Honestly not loud at all!

This place is amazing! Clean and well appointed, excellent location, very friendly and welcoming staff, and very reasonably priced— my new favorite hotel in St. Petersburg!

This is the BEST place to stay in St. Petersburg for ADULTS. No question. Wonderful staff, and also it's in a great area. Trust me !! Good value for your money.

Absolutely loved this hotel experience! There was so much to do right outside your door. With the clubs downstairs, the karaoke bar across the street, the bagel breakfast place on the corner, and everything else that's all in walkable distance. Staff was beyond accommodating and super friendly with every interaction. We had a room above the club, and the music level downstairs was not as bad as I had heard in other reviews. No problems whatsoever. Will definitely be staying here again.

It was impossible to escape the noise. Our room, positioned directly above a nightclub in the middle of a booming entertainment show, vibrated with the bass of the music below. To make matters worse, the alley beside us was alive with shouting voices, clattering bottles, and the occasional blaring horn. Sleep was out of the question; even conversation required raised voices. The walls seemed paper-thin, offering no relief from the relentless chaos outside. We were move to a quieter room away from the live entertainment venue.

It was a cozy overnight staycation. Love it!

Reservation was not used. I was not told of Pride rainbow celebration in progress. Street to Hotel was blocked off making it impossible to get to Hotel in car. Parked blocks away and carried bags to Hotel. Crowd similar to Mardigras in New Orleans would have made it impossible to rest. Told doorman we were not checking in and left. Rebooked with Holiday Inn St Pete West after we walked blocks back to car. This Hotel advertised on site parking and offered it for $29.95 a day Very disappointed with their Hotel and statement on Expedia stating 9.2 guest rating. Can not recommend even a low 6.0. I plan on requesting a refund later when manager can be reached.

Everything about this resort is great. You’ve got amazing staff that are very friendly and accommodating. They actually reached out to me regarding an item I had left in my room, but I was unaware of. Which I thought was a nice touch the AC in my room was amazing and my bed was very comfortable. we only issue was for water pressure in the shower. We occasionally drop, but it came back within seconds however keep in mind. This is a 100 year-old building so that’s to be expected. The one recommendation I will have for anyone looking to book here is go ahead and reserve a parking space if you think you’re going to need on-site parking it does fill up quickly. however, you still have plenty of parking options around you. I was able to find Elm Street parking just around the corner from the hotel so it wasn’t so bad. Overall, the resort offers a fun upscale atmosphere and I will definitely be coming back again.

not a place you want to go if you're looking for a quiet getaway. My room was right above the club which pounded music until 3am and the DJ talks ALOT. the sink is the size of a small bucket, the water pressure goes from trickle to full force to trickle again. Then you have the drunken messes going loudly through the hallway. The decor is really cute & playful & easy access to bars. this is where you go for a party night or weekend. i did enjoy it but probably wouldn't book again.

The hotel was wonderful. My only complaint was there was not a thermostat in our room to control the temperature and our room was too warm at night

This is not a hotel for a common tourist who is looking for a place to get some sleep during the trip. There are a few night clubs right at the first floor. The staff did apologize and offer me a pair of ear plugs (that did help to speak the truth). That is why I wouldn't say the staff is bad. But I still felt awful about it. Instead of paying for the parking (about $25 per night), I had to park my car on the street a couple blocks away from the hotel. The room size and facility are small.

The staff were very good. Room was nice, clean and comfortable.

I've grown to livove this place and having all those bars in house is to easy. Everybody is just to nice. The beds are great. The showers actually have hot water that lasts forever.

The room was spotless, the towels and sheets were pure white and like new. The staff were all outgoing and family friendly.

Absolutely superb experience and will definitely return when in the area in future again! We enjoy everything in the hotel - its exactly and more what its presented to be. From the front dest to shop assistant and barman - all very friendly and approachable. We loved the room as well - the location itself is superb! can not fault it - 5STARS PLUS from us.

The staff were lovely and the room was clean. No complaints about the experience. It is important to note that the bars on site are quite loud until closing (around 3am).

Great local property if you are looking to be in the center of the action. The decor is modern and it’s clear the designer had fun with it.

Very unique decor

This hotel is just for the gay community. The room was hot and the bar stays open until 4ish in the morning so don’t think you will get any sleep before they close because the music is so load all I could do was lay there and feel the beat in my chest and head!!! I’m not saying I wouldn’t recommend this place but it just wasn’t a good experience for my husband and myself.

As a middle aged lesbian couple we were pleasantly surprised by this little gem! We came to see Patti Labelle perform at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts and booked a room to stay here after the show as we are from Ft Myers/Cape Coral. We had so much fun! The Christmas cabaret style drag show was fun (and no offense ladies but drag really isn’t our thing) and oh so festive and the vibe was just really gay and positive and sweet and maybe the night sky shined just a little brighter in St Petersburg tonight.

Room had no self controlled heat or A/C available. You could hear every word spoken in the room next door, so it’s not quite but they do warn you of this at check in!

Mari Jean and its staff are a fun and accommodating hotel and crew. It is a fun specialty hotel (gay centric) but just as welcoming to M/F couples. It is always clean and well maintained for an older building. We love the eclectic decor, (very gay centric). Some rooms can be loud because of the club downstairs, so if that is a concern always ask for a quiet room.

This is stay # 5 or 6, can't remember for sure how many times. However, the level of service has always impressed me. This is not The Ritz Carlton with all the modern nuances as this is a retro-fit hotel. The curator as we have come to find out is known for transitioning older hotels into gems. A diverse background in corporate restaurant decor and a local interior design with a special flair for turning deplorable establishments into beautiful works of art. Thank you to the owner and his staff for revitalizing an old building and not tearing it down to build another eyesore of the future. Can't wait for the next visit.
